Huong Huong, the contemporary eatery which serves fusion Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai. The modern design with the remnants of Vietnam under the yellow dim light, with a mix of chill hop music, creates a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. We ordered: soft shell crabs, stir-fry kang kong, Vietnamese shaking beef, nasi goreng fried rice and the stir-fry dried noodles. Food is alright, most dishes are very salty. Service & pricing is okay.

Absolute outstanding. Worth it to be put as the bucket list to visit it while in Sydney. Great food from the first Old Thanh Huong restaurant at illawara - Marrickville Chef behind the kitchen, bring back the old memories. Great taste, generous portion, good value for the money with great hospitality served with smile, warm atmosphere & nice cool room with 2 air conditioning being turning on while busy. I was there with my wife yesterday for sunday lunch ( We ordered marinated pork chop with steam rice , salt & paper quail, fried rice egg noodle chow mein with sauce). Wanted to return on Monday but it closed according to google. The lady owner also remind us if we want to order by the phone & search on google. Please to be make sure type Huong Huong. There are few incidents which up sad the customers as they thought they ordered but unfortunately the restaurant did not receive any order as the customers rang the different restaurant with similar name. I also attached their menu picture with their phone numbers & address printed. So everyone can enjoy it.

Heading to a meet up with a friend and saw this restaurant as I walked by, so decided to step in for a quick bite. Menu was extensive, it became confusing. Is the restaurant Chinese? Or is it Vietnamese? Or Thai? Pick one, not three. I stuck to their Chinese items as I have a feeling if I ordered Vietnamese or Thai, I would be setting myself up for disappointment. Glad I did. Ordered wonton soup and fried quail. Both dishes were good and soup was well-seasoned, however, the wonton filling were not that great. Service was good, but inattentive.

Really enjoy the pho here and the rest of the menu is delicious too. Today had beef pho which has a lovely depth in the broth. You can taste it all in the bowl. The star anise pork bones cinnamon etc. The water spinach in belachan is amazingly good as are their spring rolls. Next i want the whole fried barramundi yum. UPDATE Well I went again here tonight and was not disappointed with the food! Great service and friendly aswell Four of us 95 bux pretty cheap. One pho vegetable spring rolls wonton fried a laksa and lamb sizzling with ginger also big rice and Gai lan in garlic two cans drink and a Soda chanh Great standout dish was lamb Gai lan and massive laksa very very good! Missed this place!

Very delicious food and large serving. The fried lemongrass menu is a must to try, you can ask them to make it not spicy if you don't eat chilli. Prices are reasonable for their large servings

The satay beef noodle was very unique. It was something I’ve never tried before and the ingredients went well together<br/>I felt the laksa needed a bit more fish sauce which is on the side<br/>It is cash only but there are atms nearby on the same road.

They use good ingredients and put effort into the cooking - san choy bao had perfectly fried pork and veges, the chicken was perfectly tender, the sweet and sour pork was served as deep fried balls with a separate sauce.  However, despite a few good flavours, it's very very light Chinese, much like Hong Kong cuisine, and there was no trace of Vietnamese flavour or spice.  If you like it light, this is some of the best Chinese around though.  Servings are big and sharing dishes can get you a good meal for under $15 each.

Wide variety- Vietnamese, Thai, Cantonese dishes, lots of choices of entree, main, rice dishes and noodles dishes.<br/><br/>Fresh food, yummy, generous portion size.<br/>Very clean environment, neat and tidy, even washrooms are very clean too, that’s a good indicator of high level of hygiene, big credit.<br/><br/>We tried chicken laksa, very light and non greasy soup, also tried salmon dish very tasty but not salty. Lemongrass chicken was very nice too and lightly battered.

I bought the wonton soup and seafood fried rice noodles through UberEATS. I was really disappointed with both taste and quality . Not at all how it’s portrayed in the photos, and only five pieces of seafood .I called the resturaunt and was offered a $10 voucher by ubereats but do feel the resturaunt could have refunded me the price of the meal. Word of advice, make your photos more realistic and when a customer complains refund the full amount!

Huong Huong is a neighbourhood restaurant in Marrickville which offers a variety of Vietnamese and Chinese fare. The restaurant features a simple and modest interior with sparse decoration.<br/><br/>I ordered their crispy skin chicken with fried rice and fried spring rolls. On the one hand, the fried rice was probably one of the rare few which had a distinctive stir-fry flavour but was unceremoniously bland. The crispy skin chicken had a great crispy exterior but a bland, undermarinated interior. <br/><br/>On the other hand, the spring rolls were freshly made and I could immediately taste its springy and crunchy carrots and turnips. Stale processed spring rolls have mushy turnips.

Very nice place, no head turner from the outside but it's nice and cosy inside and service is great.<br/>I had the fried noodle in oyster sauce with beef and that was great!! Gf's tomato rice & pork chop was also great

I have been to this place few times. They have friendly staff and excellent service. Most of the food are delicious specially fried rice and mango fish and deep fried egg plant. What a nice place.

Nice food with really friendly staffs! The kwetiau was okay with lots of meats and others. But the lemongrass chicken was really good, it was tender and juicy and also crispy. The pork chop was nice and it was tender. Overall will definitely come back soon

Ordered a wonton noodle soup for delivery from here. Arrived very quickly and everything was piping hot. Everything was very delicious - the wontons had a nice firm bite to them, vegetables were nice and crunchy and the broth was very rich and savoury. Unfortunately, the noodles were missing from the order, but upon calling them up they were very helpful in getting me compensation for this mistake. A slip-up did happen but Huong Huong managed it very professionally - Steven, the shop owner, was very helpful, leaving a satisfied customer. Would order from here again, as the food was tasty and worth the price.

I've been here a number of times over the years and there has recently been a change in the management or operator. The menu has more or less stayed the same but there have been a few additions. I think the cook has remained here and there hasn't been any change in the meals. I have sampled quite a few dishes with the combination rice hotpot being a regular choice. Recently I've tried the sweet and sour pork with rice, salt and pepper squid and various noodle combinations with chicken and seafood. The food is flavoursome and the texture of the noodles and rice has always felt right. I've tried the chicken sweet corn soup recently which has also been quite good. Another more recent choice was the beef noodle soup and although this dish had a good taste I don't think the soup was quite as deeply flavoursome as in some Vietnamese versions and there seemed to be a little too much soup for my liking. <br/><br/>With the change in management the restaurant is now open 6 days a week and not 3 days a week as previously. The interior is set up similarly to a traditional suburban Chinese restaurant but then again it doesn't look exactly that way. The service is a little variable now but it's still drawing in many customers. I like the jugs of tea at each table as it means there's no need for refills and the tea stays warm at all times. The iced and hot Vietnamese-style coffees have also gone down well.

The lemon grass and chili squid is one of their signature dishes and was a favourite amongst the diners that evening. Thin and crunchy batter, the chili was succulent that we all fought for every single last piece.

In Marrickville Huong Huong was doing a brisk lunch trade the Saturday I visited - in, it appears, its Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai cuisine offerings. Inside Huong Huong, Marrickville Road, Marrickville Having stumbled in from the outside humidity, I was getting even more flustered flipping through the pages of the menu of 400 items, starting with a page of Thai options followed by the rest in protein and carbohydrate categories. Iced lemon tea (left) and iced sweet coffee (right) With drinks first, an iced sweet coffee and a lemon iced tea, I was looking for the Vietnamese section, which oddly didn't really eventuate, though Vietnamese dishes dominated the noodles section. It was too hot for pho, though I'm sure that's not how the Vietnamese might see it, and the scarily large bowl size would be too much as it was supposed to be a light lunch. Crispy

Long Time Customer. Huong Huong holds a pretty special place for us having grown up in Marrickville. We used to go to the restaurant when it was near the station and called 'Than Huong 2'<br/><br/>I must say the menu is diverse, but there are favourites that we always stick too. They have hands down the best pad tie, properly cooked with the right amount of basil, fried noodles and generous chicken & prawn.<br/><br/>Their curries are also great, but their thick Penang curry is definitely my favourite. Chicken Chow Mein is another good dish if you are very hungry. I also really like the lemongrass chicken/squid and stuffed calamari.<br/><br/>Hard to go wrong really :) It is a very big mix of dishes and cultures though, so as long as you go in with an open mind you wont be disappointed.

Invited to this restaurant by a friend. They have almost everything from Viet to Indo to Chinese but none of them are authentic (our group have all those nationality on the table to judge). Was quite disappointed as the food are only average because of that. There are far better Vietnamese restaurants at this price point in Marrickville so I won't recommend this one to my friends. Business was really good though so I guess if you are looking for "westernised" Asian food you might like it here.

Old favourite. Have been dining at HH for many years, maybe 20+ or more. Always enjoyed the food. Yes weekends can be pretty hectic. A more relaxing, satifying experience weeknights. Lunch is good too.<br/>My only criticism is - side effects from the MSG the next couple of days after.<br/>Hence do not frequent so much these days - sad to say.

Love this place. Take your time to pop in. Great variety, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai. Service is fast, enjoy green tea while you wait. Love sizzling beef, salt & pepper squid & combination fried rice. Many more yummy things, also good prices.

Got our order very very wrong, didn't check till we got home, food was ok, but had one main to share between two people, and the wrong starters, I may go back but would definately check our food before leaving.
