My first time visiting here on last Saturday and it was an amazing experience :) The corn fritters was so great and generous portions! Staff are lovely and attentive. They have many attractive menus so I can’t wait to go back to try something different.

Great food, friendly staff. Amazing atmosphere and classic Aussie cafe menu. Absolutely loved it.

An inner west gem. Friendly staff and good selection on the menu. Don't forget to check the specials. Coffee is top notch and worth a second cup.

Great service and such a nice place to come and relax. My fav cafe in the inner west to relax in the back courtyard when the sun is out.

Great coffee, and the smashed avo with quinoa and pesto was great. Downside if you aren't eating in coffees can be slow.

Have been coming to Cafe 2204 for years and I've never been disappointed. Best coffee in Marrickville (no joke!) and the food is always tasty and cooked well. Always smiling and friendly staff gives this place a great atmosphere too, as well as the courtyard out the back which you're welcome to sit in plus it's dog friendly! Shame other places have popped up in the immediate area which people seem to flock to...no one does coffee as good as Cafe 2204!

4-3 years ago this cafe was amazing, great prices and the food was even better. However, it has been on a steady decline since. I took my family to this cafe and we all felt the food was very bland. The bacon and egg sandwiches were dry, I ask for mine with BBQ and received tomato sauce from the man who owns the cafe. I then told him about this and he instead brought me over a bottle of BBQ. The table service has also decline, we were not even offered any tap water. <br/><br/>Ultimately, the service and the food is no longer worth the price, it seems as if the success of the cafe has inflated it's own ego. No matter, new cafes in the area are opening up regularly now that this'll soon collapse.

The staff were lovely and hospitable, the food served promptly and a nice atmosphere however the food was disappointing. I ordered a wrap which was mostly lettuce and drowned in sauce. The few bits of chicken that were included were overcooked and dry. Two others on my table did not receive bacon within their ordered meal and overall comments were that the taste was bland. <br/>If the food was improved this would be a great place to call my local.

Long time between visits which is probably why I am only reviewing 2204 now. <br/><br/>The coffee is smooth and mild. I usually prefer a more robust coffee yet it passed my two coffee test and I ordered a second piccolo. <br/><br/>Hubs got the French toast which comes with crispy bacon and maple syrup. He thought it was a little light on syrup and was given extra. <br/><br/>I had the Baked Huevos Rancheros. Really delicious and a decent amount of tortilla to spread the baked goodness on. <br/><br/>

WOW! What an amazing cafe who aren't stingy with their servings. We ordered the healthy hazard and chicken burger and our fungry stomachs were satisfied. The fresh juices are also a must!

Staffs are all friendly, Nice fresh food  and coffee was really good.Change some menus weekly I think, good too.<br/>Definitely my favourite cafe for a moment.

Amazing place. 2204 is one of the best cafes in marrickville. <br/>Amazing food and staff, Rad vibe, menu changes so that there is always something new happening and the staff are totally cool with you making it up as you go. It's a tiny slice of Brooklyn in the inner west and the courtyard out the back is awesome on a sunny day. 10/10

Not happy. This used to be my favourite cafe. My wife and I have enjoyed breakfast on the weekend here on a regular basis. The cafe appears to have recently changed hands. The coffee, which used to be consistently great, is now awful and barely drinkable. The service was terrible as when we asked to speak to the manager about the size and price of our meals (different to previous dining experience and the menu) we were spoken harshly at by an Asian man we could barely understand. Will not be returning and telling all out friends in the local marrickville area. Such a shame! This cafe used to be great.

2204 is a cafe by day, bar by night. The decor exudes warmth; with walls pared back to reveal stunning brickwork and comfy leather chairs to recline on as you lift your coffee off the rustic wooden tables. A blackboard menu showcases the food, which was sold to us by the waitress' friendly smile.

We had heard many different things about 2204....that it offered tapas on weekends, served good wine with cheese platters, that it was a great little bar...it was becoming the stuff of legend to the cafe/bar deprived folk of Marrickville.

Fantastic cafe. Amazing coffee, really nutty and rich. Lunch menu particularly strong - especially the lamb salad. Service is very good.

If possible go during the week. At the weekend they seem to get a bit over run and the standards drop. But when ive been during the week ive never been dissapointed. Great coffee, smooth silky milk and a robust sweet coffee bean. Great, fun and cheerful staff, nicely presented and generouly sized meals and the venue has a beautiful quirky charm. I keep going back.

Such an overrated place. <br/>Service was poor. <br/>When food came it was wrong, when the waiter was informed of this, they said that they would see to it right away, but didnt. When back again for a take away coffee. Not happy with our first experience there. Thought we would give it another try. Just as arrogant. Made the wrong coffee and tried to convince us it as the right one. Despite saying on the take away cup what it was. Cool layout. Average staff and food. Really disappointed on more than one occasion

Food looks nice, unfortunately the coffee I had was not very good. May give them another chance.

The coffee was terrible. I paid $4 for a small takeaway soy coffee which I threw out after one sip. Maybe I was there on an off day, but with so many other consistent and amazing coffee places nearby, i don't think I'll be back any time soon.

They say you can judge a cafe by their coffee and unfortunately it was not one I'd return for. I really wanted to like this place, may give it another go.

2204 leading the way. Great venue with a strong local following. 5 Senses Coffee, good food to hit the spot, great service and free wi-fi. Ticked all the boxes.

"Great coffee and service at Cafe 2204". Wow! that's all i can say. My first time there was about one month ago , went in on a saturday it was quiet busy but the vibe was great: the music/food ,staff, coffee was probley one of the best i have had in awhile! it took awhile for the coffee to be made but overall it was such a cool place to have my saturday breaky. The staff were very polite and even the owners wife was working she served me and was so down to earth and easy on the eye, such a lovley lady to talk to. Will defentley be returning when im in the area next time. Amust visit cafe in Marrickville!

I live really close to 2204 and is proximity alone that takes me back there. "maybe this time it will be better" we say to each other in hope (and laziness), instead of walking to any of the other amazing cafes in the area. The crime is the incredible potential this place has. The decor is great, the staff (front of house) are lovely and it is located in Sydney's fastest developing suburb. The coffee is drinkable, but considering 2204 is flanked by alchemy and double roasted and we inner west wankers love complaining about coffee, the bar must be raised. The food. My accociates and I have tried everything from the full breakie to toast, and it has never failed to disappoint. When you go somewhere and pay more than usual for something you could have made at home (if you weren't so lazy) and its obviously terrible, you have to ask yourself "what's going on in the kitchen!!". Now I'm sure the cook is good at something but it ain't cooking. I presume they own the place, but it would be financial suicide (by food poisoning) to not sack themselves and get someone new in. My toast wasn't toasted!! There is a real opportunity to make this place great. Take it. I wish I could say I'm never going back, but I know morbid curiosity and an occasional need for a bacon and egg roll before I can even think about leaving Addison rd will take me back. Glutten for punishment or what!

Had takeaway coffee. Was excellent. Beautiful shot and silky milk. Very impressed. Will be my go-to spot in Marrickville. Fresh warm muffins looked amazing and friend said breakfast was great too. Cafe itself had character and charm, trendy and comfortable. Great vibe. Highly recommend (coming from a sefl-proffessed coffee snob)

Good coffee!. Great coffee. Some of the staff are lovely. The food is disappointing, not a lot of variety and very bland.<br/><br/>One of the managers/owners seems to have an attitude problem, and rarely talks to you or makes any eye contact. He hides behind a hat. <br/><br/>Either way the lay out of the cafe is chilled out and it's not a bad place to hang out.

Besides the decor of this place, there's nothing much to like. I spent Sunday morning here. Coffee and food were very ordinary. I might give it another try in 6 months to see if anything has changed.

Have found my new favourite cafe in the inner west. I have been waiting a long for a place with a good vibe and above all great coffee. 2204 delivers on both fronts. They are using mecca coffee and have not had a bad coffee to date. The interior is different to any I have seen and the exposed walls really add to the vibe. Ahhh I have finally found a place to have a great coffee in a chilled relaxed environment.

Lovely staff, great coffee and delicious vegan-friendly breakfast! Will definitely return!
