Great atmosphere, friendly staff and seriously good coffee !
(The big breakfast was the best way to start a day and the gluten free cookies were a huge hit with the kids)
Had a great smoked trout and Brie baguette that hit the spot! Staff were friendly and cafe is lovely and relaxed, homely feel - also serves a nice cold bottled beer which was great when the pub and other bars had shut mid afternoon.
As soon as we walked into the cafe, the warmth of the atmosphere was palpable. We were welcomed by the staff and also by the locals!! We were hungry after camping for a couple of days, so we had the big breakfast. The eggs were free range, the bacon was so yummy and the toast was crunchy and buttered. Thank you Fraga's.
Amazing lemon cheesecake + ice cream! Generous serve and lovely service :) great coffee also
It was really busy when we first arrived. We had to wait a little to get our table but the staffs were really friendly and made us felt welcome. I enjoyed my soups of the day and my boy enjoyed his beef pot pie. We would visit again for near future if opportunity occurred.
The food is fresh heathy and yummy and we'll priced good for kids to Will be going back again worth the drive and friendly stuff to thanks for giving back my keys guy's well done!!!
Perfect ambiance with great food and wonderful staff
I always try and stop in here for a break in my travels. Coffee is great, staff a friendly and the out door area so relaxing under the trees. I often make it the destination point for a relaxing day out of Melbourne too.
Nice and chilled , delicious food, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Delicious fresh food. Cakes are yum as well. Loved it #
Great people and friendly service with delicious food in the heart of Victorias finest town
Great cafe, clean, friendly staff and amazing food with good prices. Will be back again soon.
Best coffee in Marysville friendly efficient staff great food with GF and vegan options
Beautiful food that satisfies the price. Generous portions, highly recommend
Dined for lunch. I had the Buxton trout & brie baguette & mug of chai - special homemade recipe - both were delicious. We returned next morning for breakfast where I had the Buxton trout with scrambled eggs on a croissant & of course another mug of delicious homemade chai. Friendly service.
A place for lunch after a hike. A very relaxed vibe in this place and really nice. We got the salmon buxton trout baguette and a cauliflower soup to dine in.
The buxton trout goes really well with the brie cheesse inside which was a new combinaiton to me. Insert some side salad leave into it and crunch into the softest baguette in melbourne and you're well sorted. Only complain would be that it finished way too soon.
The cauliflower soup was too filled with flavour and waa a delicious starter. I'd definitely visit the place again if i was in town.
Small and bustling in the heart of Marysville. Delicious coffee and a range to choose from for the sweet tooth and even savoury nibble.
The street can be quite noisy, but plenty of parking.
There aren’t a lot of choices at Marysville but Fraga’s food really stands out. We went to Marysville for a day trip and decided to have lunch here. We had chargrilled steak with baguette and spinach ricotta ravioli. They were both in big portion. Love biting into the baguette with a crispy outer layer. The Ravioli tasted fresh and homemade. Love the pesto sauce and love the salad that came with it.
Wonderfully inviting, locals will tell you that Fraga's is Marysville's most loved brunch spot. . Brimming with charm the café is often bustling with locals and foodies excited to try their delicious and comforting brunch options. We loved the vegetarian breakfast which featured poached eggs encasing dripping yolk, mushrooms, tomato, wilted baby spinach, Spanish tortilla and hot buttered toast. Just yum!
This cafe is situated on the way to the Steavenson Fall. Beautiful strong coffee and friendly customer service. Coffee with some pastries from next door bakery will be the best choice☆
Visited today with family. I can see many mixed reviews here.
As I opened the door, I hear a loud please shut the door which took me by surprise as I was expected my other family members to tag along but they had stopped outside to take photos! I get it as it's freezing cold today so I quickly shut the door. I heard a nasty comment by a staff member which clearly didn't make a first good impression.
Other than that we loved the coffees in big bright mugs and the muffins, cakes and scones were fresh and delicious. We didn't have breakfast meals. The scones were some of the best we ever had. The staff were courteous after that and service was good. They must have double personalities when feeling very cold.
Nice cosy atmosphere inside. We enjoyed our quick meals before heading off to the snow. My nephew entertained himself with the many toys there.
Yum! Had a pot pie, local trout sandwich and roast beef sandwich. Lattes were nice and hot while retaining the taste of the coffee. Pleasant and polite staff. Recommended for lunch or coffee.
Food here is so awesome I came for breakfast and lunch in the same day. Everything taste home made and the baguettes are especially fresh. I'll be back time and time again.
The staff were very nice and were able to make certain meals vegan friendly (they were also very accepting of this which was nice). The cafe had a great atmosphere and made great soup.
Went for a drive to Marysville to do a bit of sightseeing and get some country air. Stopped in at Fragas for lunch, I had the pot pie, very nice and not too big, good size for lunch. The sauce in the pot works great with the chips, the pile of lettuce was unnecessary, could have had half as much lettuce and still been plenty. The wait was also a bit long, they didn't seem prepared for the number of patrons.
Lovely cafe in country. Like the family feel. Food is more than you'll expect from what's available in remote area. Coffee in large mug is huge and only cost $3.3
Great value and nice to drop by.
Amazing and positive place. Full of love and "home" climate. Fact that all locals eat here Sunday breakfast just confirms the quality of food here.
Simple but yummy food - and well priced. Service was very attentive. Great atmosphere. We both had a baguette, my partner the chicken and salad - I had the smoked trout and brie. My only suggestion would be to put the side salad that comes with the smoked trout baguette in the actual baguette. Cute place :)
We went there today, Sat 26 March. Very nice place, a bit crowded but it was lunchtime. Ordered spinach ravioli for my wife and warm chicken salad for myself. Service is friendly. Not prompt but that's explainable - heaps of customers and kept coming! Quality of food was good. My wife also liked the atmosphere. And her Chai Latte!
Spending a couple of nights in Marysville with friends, we thoroughly enjoyed our light lunch at Fraga's. The coffee was excellent and the service friendly. Outside seating was pleasant and we enjoyed the company of a king parrot that joined us for a while.
Charming cafe with plenty of outdoor seating to take in the fresh air of Marysville. Simple and tasty menu with plenty of delicious home made cakes.
It's great to see that this cafe is busy after the bush fires. The staff are very friendly and definitely make you feel welcome. The lunch menu is a little limited, but we managed to find something tasty to eat that met our dietary needs.....one being vegetarian & the other a coeliac.
Fraga's is one of my locals when I am back home and I have known the lovely owners Jane and James for many years.
Their coffee is always on point and each time I return I am glad to see the Yarra Valley Pastas, ravioli of spinach and ricotta with homemade pesto and salad. The portion size is perfect, leaving you satisfied but not sickly overeating a big bowl of cheap bulk packet pasta like most places. And the pesto, soo delicious!
I also got a savoury spinach and feta muffin to take back home in Melbs and when purchasing I could not go passed the gluten free choc mud cake! All of their cakes are home made and look delicious!!
Def stop off here if you are passing through or staying in The 'Ville.
Its a sweet little cafe with great coffee. We had mixed feelings w.r.t breakfast but the ambience of the restaurant and winter chill of Marysville made up for it. Not a lot of vegetarian options, but you can ask for the breakfast without the eggs if that's what you are after.
This review is only for the coffee. BEST COFFEE we've had out in a long time. Lovely lady who served us both mornings did a great job. Very yummy organic locally sourced beans :)
Great breakfast/lunch made from local produce. Coffee was average.
Simple breakfast. This is a sweet little cafe. We had breakfast here and found it to be very reasonably priced and tasty. There aren't a lot of breakfast options here, mostly simple unpretentious meals. Coffee was very nice.

Mixed Feelings, Great Coffee. We ate here for breakfast both mornings for our weekend away, the menu is quite small and no vegetarian options unless you want toast. The first morning I had a lemon and sugar crepe which was tasty, however no where near fills you up as you only receive one in a serve. The second day I opted for eggs with a side of mushrooms, it was very basic and disappointing, the eggs were so oily and the mushrooms half were raw and some very buttery. I received 4 triangles of odd bits of toast however two pieces were bread and barely toasted and all sloppy. My partner had the scrambled eggs and the eggs were over scrambled and dry, however he did enjoy the bacon. The coffee is great, they have bonsoy so that is a plus. Cakes looked great, the muffins were tasty also. Be nice to see some more love put into the cooked breakfasts.
Wow banoffee pie is amazingly good. ($6:50 /slice) a very generous size. Caramel &bananas and cream &biscuits tasty!!
Beats my local cafe in Berwick on size taste and price. I didn't try their coffee but diners around me proclaimed it very good. $3:90 for a sm cup seems a little bit pricy. For me $3:60-3:70 is more reasonable but hey that's me...8.5/10 would have given 10/10 for slightly cheaper coffee but maybe their unique blend is worth it. Other folks said it was v good.the banoffee is excellent!!
Not bad. Ok I guess for a cafe. Terrible beer list though! Not one nice beer!
What a fabulous place is Fraga's, so glad the proprietors remained after that fateful day in '09. The food, coffee & service are superb! You'd do well to call in when in the area.
Worth Travelling For!. What I liked - Sometimes when I visit the country, I have a slight panic as to whether I will find a good coffee and decent food! Well, rest assured when you visit Marysville! You will not be left hungry or thirsty! How is this quirky, homey little cafe not already featured on Urbanspoon?? Fraga's uses a locally roasted, organic coffee, 'Great Divide' and I have had consistently full bodied latte's with their East TImor and PNG blend! (Before and after the bushfires! I'm so glad Fraga's was able to be re-opened!) The menu has simple dishes, nicely presented, using a variety of local produce where they can. In fact, I think the food is 'just right'! And the best part is, all the delicious cakes and sweet treats are made on the premises! (As any worthy cafe should provide in my opinion!) The Banoffee Pie especially is worth travelling for!
What I didn't like - It's so far from home!
Can't comment on - The breakfast menu, but it's not so far from home that you can't do a day trip!

You may choose to sit outside and enjoy the country breeze or choose to be inside the warm and cozy cafe. The interior was nicely decorated with artistic frames and mosaic designs. We were there during the long weekend (Queen’s Birthday) and the place was packed. It took awhile for the staff to clean the tables and get our orders.
Cute little family run business.. staff were amazing.. ordered a tandoori chicken baguette and a gluten free grilled chicken sandwich. Paid $25. Decent serves and freshly made chicken.. food is more like a home style lunch, which was good. Tandoori chicken isn't much like tandoor roast may be Tandoori spice rub chicken, but no complains.
My 2 cents worth of advice is to put 20k on brightening the restaurant and raise prices by 12 to 15%.
Decided to take a day trip to Marysville and amongst the gorgeous town I found this beautiful little cafe. Can not recommend stopping by Fraga’s enough if you’re ever on that side of town.
I tried the Cheese Toastie and the Croissant with butter and jam, both were absolutely amazing but I can’t stress enough how soft and delicious the croissant was.
Love the friendly vibe at Fragas Cafe in Marysville and the cakes are superb. Do not miss the Belgian Lemon Cake and the Apple Crumble Caje. They do a great cheese and tomato toasty and the baguettes are great.
Great spot right on the main street. Good food. Good price. Pet friendly to boot. Sit inside or outside.
As a bus group 8 of us sat outside at a wooden bench table made of a local slab top in the shade of huge trees. Service to the table very good wine by the bottle was very cold food was very fresh made as you wait. Chips so hot you had let them cool. Highly recommend to all whether you need a snack or a full meal.
Excellent friendly service and food. Buxton trout baguette was delicious Lovely tea too. Arrived at the end of the day. We could have been the first such fresh food. No rush very friendly chatty staff. Would definitely come again.
