Review Curry Craze - Mascot

Emma
Spacious with indoor & outdoor dining. Good social spacing between tables which is a must for me. Great friendly service. Very clean. Food was very good. The Prawn Vindaloo was not as spicy as I am used to but was tasty. The Dahl was very good, the Korma was a little too sweet. Overall we had a good night. Have been to other Indian food restaurants/ take-away nearby but have not been as good as this place. Would highly recommend Curry Craze to either dine in. They also offer take-away & home delivery by the usual methods Thank you for making our night a good one.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Sydney. It is also very convenient as it’s close to airport. You can have a last meal before you travel. The staff are very friendly and their is also very quick! Goan fish curry is must try here!

First time here and as soon as I sat down automatically the staff made me comfortable. The food was AMAZING. Also the presentation absolutely stunning. The staff were also coming to me and asking if I need anything which was so sweet. First time coming here and definitely not last.

Exceptional service and food. We ordered papadoms, garlic and cheese naan, chicken and cheese naan, chicken biryani, and mango chicken. They were all delicious! Definitely coming back to try out other dishes on the menu.

Had such a delicious feast the other night, nearly exploded I ate so much, I couldn't eat enough. The samosa chat was divine, the lassi was perfect and the staff provided perfect recommendations. The garlic cheese nan was a perfect accompaniment.

It was a very nice experience to visit this place. Food was awesome, with lots of options in veg and non-veg. The service was 10/10, highly recommend to try this restaurant.

Great place. They moved recently to a bigger location and the new decor really has a nice vibe to it. The service is friendly and the foot is tasty. Can't dine in anymore due to lockdown but they still have good deals on takeaway curries. Delivery has been spot on and on time. We'll definitely order from here again.

Best Indian Restaurant around the Mascot, Alexandria and Rosebery area. Really tasty food and a clean and nice set up. Very reasonable prices for take away and great taste. Worth the money. Highly recommend! Walking distance from Mascot train station.

Had THE most beautiful dining experience. After a long day and having not eaten for some 10+ hours, this place was recommended by my hotel, and wow, did it deliver. The naan bread was just beautiful, and so tasty i was enjoying it on its own, but the chicken korma proved just as delicious, with a sweet, nutty flavour that was just delectable. The rice was flawless, and the cab sav, fromWA, a perfect accompaniment. waiting staff were so polite and welcoming, managing that difficult balance between just the right amount of attention, noticing when you required assistance, but also leaving you to enjoy your meal with aplomb. And all at very reasonable prices. Could not have asked for more. Thank you very much. Highly recommend!

We went here yesterday and we didn’t know it was open (9:30 ish) and the guy I think his name is Anil who was one of the server was so nice to let us have a sit and order in advance our food while they setup and we order biryani and I didn’t know it was too spicy for me but anil was extra nice he gave me a cheese naan to kill the spiciness and even made the biryani less spicy. Hands down to Anil and to the food it is really good!

This a little gem hidden in Mascot. The service is always with a smile. The food is amazing and authentic. If you need to change the spice level let the friendly staff know and they will be happy to guide you! I love their street food but would they added more dishes to their menu. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The prices wont hit your wallet.

One of the best Indian food i have had for a while... Fish tikka was melting in the mouth... Flavours were authentic and divine... And service??... Service was amazing... Friendly... Professional... Helpful... Suggestive. The guy realized i was parked in a short term parking so suggested that i sit in the car and he will bring out the take away. Will go back again and again and again

One of the best butter chickens I’ve ever had! Their prices are very reasonable as well, less than $50 for two people and we ended up having leftovers for the next day as well.
The service is very attentive, and the atmosphere is very cute with fairy lights and heaters during winter. They also have a very good takeaway menu.

We always pass by this restaurant because its near Mascot station and that’s where we get off to go to our hotel. We had a chance to try it for lunch. I ordered a paneer curry with rice and extra cheese nan. The nan was soft, fluffy and chewy which is what I like. The paneer was good. It was not spicy at all. They give hefty servings so 1 serving might be good for 2. But if you have a big appetite then it will be more than enough. Just ask them if they have achar or anything to add to spice up the curries. Happy eating!

Delicious!

I ordered a lamb vindaloo and a vegetarian dish that i cannot recall the name. Both were fantastic and cooked perfectly. The naan was made to order and very tasty.

I loved this place and awarded it 5 stars because it was good value for money, delicious, not pretentious, comfortable and you get more value then what you expect.

well done.

I loved this place in Sydney where i got the whole variety of delicious food to satisfy my taste buds.

Curry Craze has a cosy ambience to sit outdoors with heaters in the windy weather of Sydney.

We ordered
*dal makhani
*dal tadka/yellow dal fry
*jeera aloo (specifically customized)
*chana masala
*garlic naan
*tandoori roti

The taste of all the dishes is just wow👍👍😋😋

The staff serves you at their best even during the peak hours.

Would recommend Curry Craze!! Must visit for all the visitors to Sydney😊

Service is really good. Food is okayish. Friendly staff. Over all a nice place to stop by and have quick food if you are in a hurry. Definitely not the best place for Indian food in Sydney.
Soumya Das
Awesome Indian food. Very friendly and courteous staff. Great starters and main course. For party purpose we specified to make the food spicy and they prepared it just like that. Delicious paneer tikka and goat curry.

I frequently order food from here via Uber Eats. It’s probably some of the best Indian food in Sydney. I usual request my food to be medium spicy and I have not been disappointed.
My go to choices are :
Paneer Tikka Masala
Butter chicken
Chicken tikka masala
Garlic Naan
Kololee
Very authentic Indian cuisine. We had lunch specials which were pretty cheap ($15 for the extensive option with three curries, and $10 for the basic option). Mango drink was good too.

I can’t remember the last time I ate in Sydney which had a better value for money. Unlike, most Indian places, they don’t rip you off for basic Indian food. FYI, the lamb kebab there is the best I have had. Thanks for the amazing dining experience fellas, can’t wait to visit again. Props to the servers as well, very friendly.

Jul 18 - Have been here multiple times with friends. The service is impeccable, very friendly. Few of the favourites - Daal Makhani, Chicken Tandoori, Paneer Tikka. The decor is really beautiful outside

Always great value curry. Tikka massala, butter chicken, mums chicken curry are all great choices. Naan is fresh made while you wait. Definitely recommend

My go to place for Indian food in Sydney :) Everything is to love over here but the best things are - perfect location;it's right in front of you when you come out of mascot station; there are fairly lights and even better smiling staff to greet you. Anil the owner is the best host ever. Food is very authentic Indian and my personal favorite is Chana masala with aloo parantha (give your spice recommendation with order).
April L
Good, tasty curry, however they only give you about 4 pieces of meat in the meat curries.
They actually count it out. It's really disappointing for the price.

I am a sucker for Indian, I literally can eat Indian 5 times a week but unfortunately this one missed the mark. Only once was I happy with it, this was for mainly veg curries take - away. Hope it will be better if I order from there again.

Don't bother with them. Ordered mum's chicken curry. I know how to cook Indian food, they used some cheap tomato paste for the base and put way too much cumin powder. It tasted nothing like North Indian home style chicken curry. I'm genuinely irritated, it was that bad.

We go to this place way too often haha, seriously is the BEST Indian restaurant in Sydney! We come here so often that the staff memebers know out Order off by heart! Lamb cutlets, butter chicken, garlic and cheese naan and chicken biryani! Hats of to the chef for bringing the real taste of Indian food to life. The service is wonderful, the food is absolutely delicious, the setting is so relaxing to have dinner also! Constantly craving the food.
Highly recommend!

Worst place to have Indian food. Infact they disappoint the whole Indian food cuisine. I havent had a proper Indian food in a single Indian restaurant in Australia. Because it frankly comes down to we dont give a damn attitude. Same was the attitude with the female owner of this place. When I told her your food is crap she had the audacity to tell me that if you go to Mcdonalds and order $10 meal what do you expect ? Same as you order food from our buffet we dont make as per your liking. You have to order a la carte. I told her listen I have done bachelors of hotel management and worked with leading hotels of the world and I know Indian cuisine as have been trained with chefs who had 25 years experience working in Indian kitchens in India. Then she had the guts to ask me which college did I study from ? I said never mind. Frankly speaking, your food is disgusting. Worst veg curry I have ever had in my life. Infact they just cut frozen veg packet and mix it with some watery tasteless gravy. The rice isnt cooked properly nor is the daal.

Being an Indian I dont know what problems these Indians have in Australia. Why do they have so much of attitude and why cant they make simple authentic Indian food? The answer to it is simple. They just dont care. Its hospitality industry you snobbish people not rocket science. I actually run away looking at that place and enjoy amazing fresh thai food from Wallabies thai. Oh and its not another filthy Indian restaurant. Thank God.

Small serving sizes for normal prices. I’m usually a light eater yet the butter chicken and rice did not fill me up at all for lunch. The staff confused my group as to whether to pay before or after the meal.

Delicious food, super friendly staff and great service! One of our favourite local places to dine. We always get their meal deals which are yummy and filling!

I visit curry craze at least once every 3 weeks! Delicious food, amazing service and lovely staff. Perfect for a family dinner out or with a large group of friends!

Curry Craze is a bit of a mixed bag. Points for actually selling idli when not many places do. Some of the dishes aren't overly complex in flavour and sometimes fail to hit the spot. 'Spicy Lamb' whilst not actually a traditional dish has a nice hit of heat and often shows up at lunch time. The daal is surprisingly good too and holds a few different levels of flavour. The portions are small so in terms of value this is a little questionable. Staff are friendly though, and obliging come weekends when there is more time on hand.

Really good food, great value, great variety. I live in Brisbane, but this is my go-to place when I'm working in Mascot. It's quick, but they now have a liquor license (as well as BYO), so you can linger a bit with a glass of wine should you choose. I love it!

The Menu board says $14.90 for a Large Take Away Curry box! When I questioned why I was being charged $15.90 the waiter insists that the board was the "Lunch" menu. Nowhere on the board does it say "Lunch Menu". It says "Take Away, Straight Away". If you increase prices at least have the decency to tell the customers the truth. Please be careful what they charge you fellow customers. I ain't going back for sure.

A no no. Food lacks flavour and not good at all. I have tried them a few times in the hopes that they had a off day but after so many samples I won't recommend this as "Indian Food"

I had a wrap there a while back and it was amaaaazing! The bread tasted so good... cant believe this place has such a bad rating. I'm giving it five stars!

The worst biryani I have ever seen in my life, never ever try to eat biryani in this restaurant. I have taken take away and as soon as I opened after reaching home, bad smell coming out of biriyani, just had one spoon , very very worst , not at all fresh, worst restaurant

Good food. Very friendly staff. The price is decent and they serve quickly. One decent place in Mascot. Just make sure to tell them if the food needs to be less spicy or not.
Got some takeaway and they're pretty stingy with the servings. I took a photo of the amount of curry they give you. I mean it could have been at least more than 3 pieces of chicken and more than half the container. Pretty disappointed.

Out of all the restaurants near mascot station, this one is definitely one of the best. The butter chicken and garlic naan were both really really good and the customer service is very friendly. Definitely going back!

Hurry curry combo- 1 curry + 1 naan $9.90
Chicken tikka & mint wrap $8.90
Whatsayme?
Curry was above average, but what really shined was the naan and how huge it was! The dough was really fluffy too!
Wrap was also massive, only managed to have half.
Great value for how much we've paid :)
Will definitely be back!

A new Indian outlet in the Mascot area. I've tried the curry dishes for take-away a few times and also had the Samosas and naans a few times. I think it's fair to say that the curry chicken and lentils were better than at most Indian outlets with a similar take-away set-up. The flavour was a little deeper and fresher. The naan perhaps wasn't quite as good but the samosa was freshly cooked which takes slightly longer than 5 minutes at times. I've also tried the lassis a few times and they've been fairly good.

The interior is bright and new and service was friendly so it would be worth trying further items offered as part of the selections. It's located right next to the train station but otherwise parking is usually available for 5 minutes on the Bourke Street which should be enough time to get the take-away.
