Review Ichiro's Sushi Bar - Mascot

Good family experience, there are not many people for a Saturday dinner. The food was authentic but was slightly too salty, particularly the miso soup and terriyaki sauce. The appetisers arrived quickly, but the mains took a while to arrive. Overall good experience although the location is a bit remote, some aspects of the food could be improved.

My kids had sushi cravings one day and we were too lazy to go to the city, so we ended up at Mascot trying out this positively-reviewed sushi train and it did not disappoint. Everything on the menu was reasonably priced and the quality of food was good. The sushi/sashimi platter was generous and fresh, while the Aburi sushi platter had the right amount of char and sauce.

Came here for dinner using a Groupon deal. Service was great and food tasted yummy. The Gyoza was probably my favourite dish of the night. Convenient location as it's right in the middle of Masco's retail precinct, with a Woolworths parking lot right underneath.

First time visit, but certainly not our last! Thanks to COVID, we were the only ones in the restaurant and food was prepared and served in no time. ✅ Super fresh and flavoursome ✅ Well priced ✅ Service was friendly and attentive 1% surcharge on CC but also 5% discount for cash payment. Highly recommend!

Gzoya was particularly nice and full of flavour. The wagyu beef and teriyaki chicken mains came in generous servings and were a treat. For locals and travellers alike, worth a visit. Located opposite Woolworths.

The Chicken Udon was quite tasty and the noodles felt fresh. The service and decor was on point. Price was pretty good for the quality. I'd go again.

Quite well sushi bar with cozy atmosphere. Very clean, staff friendly, all dishes were tasty. Sushi train adds advantage you can see what you is going to order.

The salmon salad is quite fresh. Salmon Teriyaki is tasty. But the wagyu beef is not good like i think but it ok for the deal that I bought from Groupon. Should try Japanese green tea when you been there. Scallops sushi and salmon avocado is nice.

The food is more expensive than usual ($13 become $16) in this corona situation since we only can takeaway. And the food taste so plain.. i came so many times before but this time i feel so disappointed..

Nice Japanese restaurant in the area

FOOD
Generous serving sizes. I liked the flavour of the teriyaki chicken! There were a lot of sushi train options too.

Service was good but not the most attentive

A longer than expected wait for my food, given that the restaurant was empty. I had the tempura udon which, while piping hot, wasn’t very generous with portion sizes (1 prawn with 4 veg).

Decided to try this place out for dinner. Food was pretty good, the gyoza’s where tasty. Small cheesecake desert with ice cream was a nice end to the meal, not too heavy. Service could have been a bit better. I would go back though.

Decently priced food and friendly staff. The sushi train was a bit of a let down, as the chefs only put out the bare minimum and the cheapest plates (meaning you end up ordering everything you want separately). The chicken Katsu curry was delicious. Not a bad experience overall.

I have been a customer of Ichiro's for many years and always order their Bento Boxes, especially the salmon. I also travel to Brisbane and the GoldCoast and have been unable to find as good a quality and value in the bento boxes in Japanese restaurants as what you get from Ichiro's. The food is fresh and tastes great and the service has been friendly and efficient. I just wish they would open a place in Perth as well 😊

Overall is great Japanese restaurant. Price is average. Service is pretty good. I love the wagyu beef teriyaki. Definitely flavoursome !!! For sushi, it is not too bad but not very good either. Carpaccio was pretty good compare to the sushi.

Went for dinner on a Groupon with my 5yr old. Nice local Japanese, wouldn't of known it was there hidden opposite woolies if it wasn't for Groupon. Found the service excellent, and serving sizes very generous, especially for a Groupon voucher. The carparcio needed a little dressing aside mayo. But the gyoza was our favorite, and we will prob go back for that and to try some of the other stuff on the menu when we feel like japanese nearby. If you are not local there is parking under woolies.

Great little Japanese eatery with a sushi train and along with an extensive menu for those who don’t want sushi. Had the 3 course dinner special which invoked a sushi starter, main with rice and miso and dessert option of sorbet/ice cream. Friendly staff though service is a bit slow. Japanese beers and Australia wines available on the menu and you can even BYO wine.

We have recently discovered Ichiro’s after moving into the area and it’s quickly become our “go to” restaurant. It’s a friendly and casual place with very good and authentic Japanese food. The sushi is always fresh, with a good mix of rice and toppings/fillings. You can tell they use good quality products. They are generous with their ingredients too. We especially love the bento boxes and udons, which are flavoursome and good value.

The staff is really friendly and helpful but the food is really terrible. First I tried the sushi, it was the most dry sushi I ever ate. The rice was like a usual rice, dry & grainy. And also lack of taste. We also ordered Chicken Katsu bento box (cost me about $23), and it was so wrong in many level. Everything was really bland, couldn't taste anything at all. Surely won't ever coming back again.

A Japanese place in Mascot centre near the train station. They have a really big menu and also a sushi train. We both had bento boxes and they had rice, meat of your choice, sushi, sashimi, tempura and miso. Affordable food. Staff were lovely too and the food came out fast.

We live round the corner and love coming down to Ichiro's. Service is always friendly and fast. The food is excellent, I would heartily recommend the chicken katsu curry or the Teriyaki Don. Sushi looks very fresh and tasty but haven't tried it yet.

This is based on lovely Salmon rolls and shared Samon Sushi & Sashimi.

Walked around restaurant near Mascot station for dinner. This restaurant was the most decent numbers of customers have seated inside and decided to try on Wed night.

All beautiful Salmon sushi and sashimi were thick and big. I would say they are getting beautiful fresh salmon from fish market. Whoo Yammy.

Cutomer service is excellent. They welcomed us by opening the door and very attentive. Staff are warm and so nice that we enjoyed chatting didn't notice we stayed pass closing time!

This is called Unagi Bento... with a tiny little piece of eel on the top right corner, which feels like the side dish. This is definitely not worth of $24. Not gonna come back again.

I love their good size dons and their chicken karaage. One of the dish I like from this place is the spicy pork pan fried gyoza. The reason I like this is because I can't find any other place that do this dish so far. Their sushi is good. Try their loveheart sushi plate. One of my favourite. Service is friendly.

I love Ichiro's new location in Mascot, it's completely refreshed their experience. There is a much smaller train however, and there is more separate table seating, both inside and out. The staff are warm and amiable to the point of giving you a very organic feeling of familiarity.
The Agedashi Tofu is one of the better ones I've experienced, and although the tofu pieces are large, the downside is that they are a little difficult to handle. I'd like some larger Gunkan, and I found the ratio of rice to filling was in favour of the rice. This was the same case with the hand rolls despite being delicious. Soft shell crab was delicious and portion size with this was good. Overall I found the prices leaning toward the higher end.

Ichiros has good sushi and not too badly priced. The owners are very motivated and friendly and they really do provide a good experience for dining. I would recommend sitting at the sushi train and grabbing what comes along.

Went to Ichiros for the first time today and it's was beautiful! Very clean with a appealing sushi train! The salmon was Delectable and even tried there smoked salmon very yummy. The staff were friendly as soon as you walked in the door :) the prices are not the cheapest but worth it for some good sushi! It's right next to the mascot station. So if your looking for some Ambrosial sushi then Ichiros is the way to go :)

Haven't actually dined in here however I've had their take away numerous times and it's never disappointed. Quick delivery, not too expensive and above all great sushi.

Great place. I often dine in or get delivery through Menulog. Sushi is delicious and always fresh. Friendly service and very patient and accommodating (have a toddler and a baby). One of the best places in Mascot.

Worst service, worst portion, too expensive. Went there for lunch, 2 pax, ordered 2 take away sushi and 2 eat in don bowls, kaisen don came out within 3 min of ordered cost, 13.50 and had 4 peices of sashimi in it, extremely thinly sliced, no side dressing for the bowl at all and the chicken teriyaki don did not come out in the 20 min we sat there, we had to get it take away, the take away sushi, was $4.00 for 3 extra small pieces. total waste of money and awful food.
we were told it was our fault for not letting them know we were in a hurry or that we were "very" hungry and wanted our food.

So very disappointed! My meal arrived 1hour 30mins later, ordered beef teriyaki bento box. Beef teriyaki- with tiniest beef strips, they should really call it rice bento box with a tiny bit if beef on side. DO NOT order from here, I know I won't!
Ronin47
Friendly place. Went here a little while back for dinner. Train wasn't operating but always friendly family run place. Very friendly staff although not necessarily the most genuine Japanese food around. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Friendly service and great lunch special ($12.50 for 3 plates of your choice + green tea). My recommendations are the chefs special, which are more than your

Very nice sushi and bentos. Good vegetarian options. However, not all options are available at lunch, which is a little disappointing.

Absolutely fantastic!! Soft shell crab hand rolls my favourite!! Had the sushi and sashimi combo also...very fresh produce!! Couldn't speak any higher of it!!!
