Review Tay Do 2 - Mascot

Tay Do 2 has Trip Advisor awards and no wonder. I'd only tried it yesterday having been past it many times - it's not flash and not gimmicky. We had the most delicious & fresh Pho, truly authentic with the extra ingredients not usually found in Aus. Try the special beef noodle soup as recommendation by the chef/owner. Other dishes like the pork chop truly first class and so flavoursome and well prepared, as are the spring rolls - packed and fresh. Do yourself a favour and have a meal here. Wish we'd discovered it sooner!

We had the Spring Rolls....very tasty wrapped in lettuce and mint. Followed with Satay Beef, Juicy and tender. Well worth the visit. Staff very friendly and helpful.

This is a nice little restaurant with a simple selection of food. The staff and service are great and the food is fresh and tasty. There isn't a lot of variety but they will more than happy to accommodate any reasonable deviations from the menu.

Horrible customer service. Waitress refuse to speak and owner blames me for their blockage to their sauce bottle

Popped in for Pho on a really cold day. It was cheap and came out fast but not as good as some other Pho's that I've had. I also asked for no coriander and I don't think she understood as it had coriander. Also tripe isn't in all Pho and it is an acquired taste and I didn't personally like this. A basic restaurant and nice ladies, but it is fairly standard.
Those Who Love To Eat
Sunday evening, it is raining and I am craving comfort food. Didn't really know what I wanted to eat, walked passed this Vietnamese place and thought I'd check it out. The restaurant is inconspicuous and humble looking from the street, the menu streamline, not too overbearing with choices which makes life a little easier at times. I decided to order a take away as it was raining and wanted to eat in the comfort of my own home.
Ordered the pork chop and rice for $12.50 to go. Got it home and found the rice to be a little disappointing and dry. Oh how I dislike dry rice. The pork, a little dry but edible. I guess you don't come to these sort of places to have your culinary palate delighted, more as a quick fix to a hungry belly. It was OK, but I don't know if I'll be in a huge hurry to return, even if I was hankering for comfort food. Oh well... You have to try to know I guess.

Great little restaurant. Not the most extensive range of offerings on the menu but the food we have had on our two visits has been excellent. Starters include quail and springrolls which were presented with plenty of fresh salad greens on the side. The owner even showed us a new way to eat the spring rolls, wrapped in lettuce and herbs, delicious!

For main the pork chop with vermicelli salad and cubed beef with tomato rice were sizeable, tasty and very fresh. The beef especially was very tender.

Well worth supporting a restaurant like this.

Excellent, super fresh food. The Spring rolls with the fresh herbs and lettuce were beautiful! The lemongrass beef with vermicelli was very tasty. Nothing was oily, all very healthy and delicious. Will definitely be back. More locals need to get onboard!
