Review Boom Sushi - Mascot

Tony Suryawinata
I tried the chicken katsu at boom sushi mascot and it was really good.. good taste & good quality with a reasonable price. The owner & the staffs are very polite.. overall very good service, very recommended and definitely come back 👍🏻🥰

I like the more classic rolls here that tend to have the right flavour balance, well-priced and come in good quantity. But the rolls that come with a lot of sauce can be a bit on the sweet side. I also had one experience where I got some over-fried karaage chicken in a bento box.

I loved the beef, was so moist and flavourful.. Will definitely come back to try more dishes ! Good portions for the price :)

The Tiger Sushi with Salmon is the best! Seriously the most incredible sushi for such a good price. Topped with amazing service as well (the owner and the girl at the counter is super nice and friendly)…couldn’t be happier!

I’ve been an avid fan of Boom sushi since then. Their customer service is excellent. The food is divine and the price is very reasonable.Try it to believe it! It’s the perfect place to enjoy your sushi cravings!

Great sushi and very reasonable prices. Definitely recommend this place if you're after a quick fix lunch option. Very efficient service.

This is a no frills, good value, eat & go kinda sushi place. We don’t live in the area but heard of the legendary good value they offer. Pleasantly surprised with the delicious feast we got for the price, will definitely be back for more! Love the juicy & flavoursome Wagyu Beef Steak for only $12 comes with rice & miso soup. The sashimis are also really fresh. The sushi rolls are quite big, so you won’t need to order as much as you normally would elsewhere.

Disappointed. Felt uncomfortable sitting there having my dinner. Seaweed salad, prawn tempura and veg udon - they are way too salty. The owner there with his own laptop didn't seem to care and the staff was like a robot.

Hands down best sushi I’ve ever had! Proud to say I had it atleast 10 times in the space of two months and I miss living so close

Tried it so many times. Best sushi in town. Variety of fresh, tasty, nicely served sushi accompanied with free rice tea. The staff is professional quick and nice. Keep going Boom Sushi!

The most delicious and fresh sushi in Sydney! Friendly staff too. Highly recommend.

The food was perfect and quickly prepared, the service was fantastic and would definitely give it a 10 out of 10 :-)

Great sushi at a great price. Had the chicken katsu with avo and some grilled salmon. Both were freshly made in a timely fashion. Very good sushi.

Ordered the wagyu beef and rice following the review by @jessniajauw and @darwinlai.

Not too heavy on the sauce with a good balance of salad, meat and rice. Would’ve loved a larger portion but for the $12 price, I can’t really complain.

Beef was slightly over cooked making it tougher than I like, would’ve been 5 stars otherwise. Have to try their sushi next time.

I go here pretty regularly and the sushi is consistently good. My favourite is the tiger roll but unfortunately it isn't always filling enough and I can't justify buying another $11 roll for lunch. A good combination is to get two 6pc rolls from the cheaper menu which is $5.5 each but the choices are limited.

They also sell baos and do this sweet 3 for $10 deal. A little disappointed they don't have a pork one. I got teriyaki beef, teriyaki chicken and karaage chicken. The sauce was really good, it was sweet and spicy. These are really messy though, so be warned haha.

Love the sushi from here it’s always fresh, they individually make each order which is a nice touch hence, you are always getting good quality freshness.

Great local sushi. Freshly made, tasty, and amazing value for money. Recommend the agadashi tofu and sushi. Friendly service always. Highly recommend to anyone in the area
Really great service and kind staff. We got take away and the food was fantastic. It's pretty cheap as well, and good quality. Definitely recommend it.

The best freshly made sushi I've come by in Sydney. My only problem was the shop only has 5 tables. So it's inconvenient for groups and families. However that's not a deal breaker, for me. I'd happily eat the sushi in the car if I need to.
Darwin Lai
Personally love this place very much, recommend the Wagyu Beef steak With Rice for only $11! Amazing pricing and good food quality. :) I have only been ordering this dish every time I come here, along with a sushi roll of your choice.

It's weekend everybody! and what can be more a great time to eat sushi! Searching for restaurants can be tricky on weekend. They tend to be full or you have to queue for ridiculous amount of time when you are starving so you end up eating delivered pizza at home (that happened to me). So why not grab a take away delicious fresh sushi instead?

Very good and tasty sushi rolls. I had the chicken katsu and grilled salmon rolls....yum! This place makes fresh sushi rolls and ingredients are good but too much mayonnaise makes me wonder if the ingredients were good or I was fooled by mayonnaise and fat. Rolls are quite large so a serve of 6 or 8 rolls should be more than enough for one person. I had the octopus balls as well but they didn't hit the mark. This place is appropriate for takeaway but not so much to eat in.
Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!
This place is just to die for the quality of the food is amazing for the price, I though it wouldn't be as good of quality only because the price was cheap, once I tried it I was blown away , loved it can't wait to go back here i had tuna avo cardio with brown rice and the rainbow roll
Aileen
Fresh made sushi by order. The sushi was nice and very tasty! The size was quite big. The staffs are all very nice and polite. I ordered the $45 platter! Worth it for 50 pieces

If you want good value quality Japanese food - this is for you. No frills, just simple good Japanese food. $9 for a generous bowl of karaage chicken and rice and soup and salad. Can't beat that. Will be back!

Popped in here for a late lunch as id been busy at work. Small little shop in the row of mascot shops, but about 5 tables to eat in. Pretty casual and easy going. More of a takeaway joint, but different as its all made fresh, which I was surprised, but happy to see. I ordered miso soup, agedashi tofu and sashimi all made fresh. Sashimi was so fresh!! Tofu also delicious small pieces. It came out beautifully on a tray and I almost forgot I wasn't in Japan.
Workers were nice, polite and efficient. I also like the art on the walls. For those interested, they also have catering.

Pretty average food, the agedashi tofu was soggy and wasn't very pleasant. And the chilli chicken had way too much onions in it. I've had better Japanese food and that's a lot cheaper.

Work eats with the weekly "Fat Friday" lunch takeaway. This week we chose Boom Sushi and I think everyone was very satisfied with their choice. I chose the Tiger Sushi ($10) which was cooked tuna, avocado and cucumber topping with grilled salmon, grilled cheese sauce and spicy sauce. And shared the Agadashi tofu 8pcs ($5.50).
Will definitely add this restaurant to the favourites collection !
Fiona Tjahjono Why__dee

Can I rate it any higher??? I've been their biggest fan from day 1! My go to! The guys in there are lovely & the food is just as good! I have friends travel from as far as Penrith to get sushi from here!!

Their sushi are freshly made unlike many other sushi restaurants
You should try their wagyu beef, I really like it even though at first I was confused when my aunt ordered wagyu beef in this sushi restaurant and it didn't look good at all.

We ordered a salmon platter for 3 of us. Was really yum fresh and tasty. Was a nice contrast to have the salmon 3 ways and it was tasty. It didn't wow me anymore then other sushi but it was good. Service was friendly.

A good lunch spot in Mascot, this place gets pretty busy during lunch hours. Ordered take away seafood Yaki soba. The waitress was keep saying they don't have Yaki soba but have Yaki noodle - which was funny because they are essentially the same thing. The noodle is priced well at $9 and ingredients were fresh with generous amount of seafood however it was a little bland, definitely lacking bit of seasoning. They have big sign saying they are freshly making sushi by order. I will come back to try the sushi next time.

Pretty good sushi the salmon feels a little jellish sometimes ( meaning frozen) so it doesn't have a very fresh flavour
The staff are nice and isn't to expensive, very quick service.

The best ever sushi in Sydney, especially the special sushi rolls. Best value for money. Went to this shop a couple of times and the service and food are both fantastic. Highly recommended.
Laura B
Freshly made sushi with no pre made boxes in sight! Totally acceptable but nothing out of this world. The volcano rolls are tasty but massive!
Cindy Chan
Best sushi, cheap and delicious. Always come here for fast takeaway, highly recommend the karage chicken!! They are always very fast with their service and for the price, it's unbeatable.

Super good and super fresh sushi. Just to make things clear, I am not a friend of the owners. (as was suggested about previous good reviews below)

This is by far the best sushi I have eaten in the Sydney area. Always made fresh, great brown rice, well cooked.
I have been there a few times and when I forget to mention that I want brown rice, they double-check with me, because they know that I usually want brown rice (know & recognise your customers = great customer service! )

Whenever I do sushi take-away from a different place (when I am not in this area, just to make things clear) I am so disappointed as it is never as good as the BOOM SUSHI sushi.

Great bang for your buck! And I go back every week (maybe even twice a week, if and when possible)

PS: I haven't tried any of the larger dishes, only the rolls (just to avoid any confusion)

Thanks everyone!

This might be the worst Japanese food in Sydney. Maybe it was an off day..but this might be the worst Japanese food in Sydney. I know, I should probably have tried the Sushi here but given it was the first time I was buying food from here and looking at the prices (which are very low) I thought, well, lets see what the rest of the food tastes like...
The prices are good for the amount of food you get..but the quality is severely lacking...I actually got the impression my "Wagyu" was cooked once before as it appear grey, boiled and the middle was not very warm..It is really odd because if you want to hide that, add sauce..but rather than have enough sauce I had a piece of grey meat. The Agedashi Tofu was equally as bad...I don't quite understand what they're trying to do here..I'd much rather they charge a bit more and improve the quality.
Heidi
Not up to standard for Japanese food. I suspect some of the previous reviewers are friends of the owner. I ordered the chilli pork meal which to their credit came with a lot of rice, but the chili pork was not good at all. No spice or heat, the pieces of pork were not in substantial amount by any means, and it was tasteless and watery. I was very disappointed.

As far as side dishes go, a shameful amount of some sort of mayonnaise cabbage salad (we're talking one teaspoon) and some green seaweed salad (again, a very small portion). If you like places that are remotely asian food and give you a lot of rice, then this is the place for you.

If you're looking for authentic Japanese food in Mascot, then some place like Ichiro's near the station is probably as close as you're going to get in this area.

Absolutely would not go back.
Lois
Quality service and food 8/10. Food is so tasty! bang for buck. Good big servings. For chicken katsu ($8), they give u alot of meat and rice with two little sides of seaweed and coleslaw oh and also a miso soup. The Udons soups are very nice too! and they give alot of meat unlike other sushi places which are abit more stingy and expensive. The service is good, and the delivery is speedy too. The only minor downside i have is that they dont have a variety of sashimi. only raw salmon.

I keep coming back. give it a try =]

Delicious, great value!. Everything is made to order and is very fresh. Yummy sushi and sashimi at great prices - the portions are very generous. Thanks for having a brown rice option too. The staff are very friendly. Great to have such delicious Japanese food in my local area. Will be back again and again!
