Interesting place that has thai fried rice. I have to admit the holy basil definitely made it very thai. I wish there is a bit more chicken mince though. The serving is pretty large but the dishes are not cheap either. The pad mee mow was too salty according to @Xihuahua š¶ . I think the food is quite good overall.
come early as it gets really packed at lunchtime. good that their serving size is not "asian". almost all dishes come with a veg option. would love to have thicker noodles and not angel hair in their seafood laksa. would visit again.
Great value for money, service is very quick and the dishes are tasty and generous in size. All of the fried noodle dishes are very good, in particular the peanut satay noodles and pad Thai.
Based on the menu, Pad Kee Mow is the most popular noodle dish in this resto. Iād have to agree as it was very tasty! Initial thought the portion was big but once I started tasting this yummy dish, I couldnāt stop til I completely finished it. Hahaha. Will come back to try the other favorites.
Ordered Thai spicy fried rice, normal fried rice and prawn spring roll. Fried rice was very good and generous portion. Prawn spring roll has the whole prawn in it and taste good.
Great food usually but recent bad experience as they forgot my order completely and took over 30 minutes to serve my boyfriend's meal! Not very apologetic, disappointing service this time I am afraid !
Wallaby Thai is a regular Thai restaurant with all the usual items. The food is good and service prompt. Although the kitchen is somewhat too loud at times
Both friends and my meal were outstanding! You can sit inside or outside, ordering is quick and food quality is really outstanding! My Laksa was very tasty and gratifying
One of the best Thai restaurant in Mascot area. I have tried theirĀ nasi goreng,Ā pad kee mao, pad see euw, singapore noodle and even the lasksa here is good. One thing I like about them is the short waiting time even when the restaurant is full of people. They are that fast!
I love their Nasi Goreng Fried Rice and their Pad Kee Maw noodle. Good serving size and they accomodate any customization that you are requesting (like extra chicken or extra vegetables or even extra fried egg on top). Service is good although the wait can take a while when its busy. Place is a little squeezy at times and crowded. But overall, good food.
Tried this place when visiting Syd before new years. down a little walkway on the way to mascot station. One of the best Pad Thais that I've had inna long long time. Bit more on the 'saucy' side but I'm a good way. Stay chicken skewers were amazing! Stronger on the peanut butter side which I love. Servings were big! Would visit again if staying in Mascot
Great takeaway Thai. Food is tasty and there are a variety of dishes to choose from. I usually get the noodles there and the only reason I'm not giving it 5 is because the food is occasionally inconsistent. Most of the time it's perfect while other times there is not enough flavor.
Always consistent, I judge a Thai restaurant on the chicken chilli basil stir fry, there have a decent mix of vegetables and not to much oil, I always like a lot of chilli š¶ that's just how I roll hot and heavy, the servings are very nice. I can usually demolish it fast, but sometimes I just like to take it slow watch everyone else struggle with there epics serves as I eat through it like the cookie monster. Wallabies Thai don't change anything guys everything is on point.
Can make a mean pad thai, much better than the other thai place around the corner. Price and quality are pretty good. Will have to investigate their menu/service further
This is my local in mascot. It's located behind Cielo cafe which is also a Thai takeaway joint. The flavours of the dishes here are ok... However, they do put a generous portion of meat in meat dishes.
Never had a bad meal here! Mainly get the Seafood Pad Thai. Portions are huge, and at $10.50 for the seafood or 8.50 for chicken/beef quality meals at lunch it's amazing value!
Iāve dined here and taken away numerous times. The Thai food appears to be quite average on the whole. It does get quite busy even during the evenings and at lunchtime but that could be due to the location.Ā
Iām not too sure about the dining set-up indoors although they also have a few tables outside. The outlet has an open kitchen and the smells and sounds can be overpowering and I also find the tables arranged to maximise the number of patrons who can fit inside so it doesnāt have a spacious feeling.Ā
The service has been very variable and on the whole veers towards the less friendly. Iām not sure if Iām imagining things but the patrons also sometimes donāt appear all that friendly either. Could it be a trait that rubs off? The home delivery service has been better. Some dishes actually seem to take a while to get ready, Iāve experienced waits of around 15 minutes for the omelette on jasmine rice when there werenāt that many customers. It could be that the dish just takes a while to prepare.
Overall I would say itās more like a quick-eat or takeaway outlet.
Really good value Thai with speedy service. Casual outdoor tables for a summer nite and easy dining.
A hidden gem for Thai food. This take away produces some good take away Thai. The location isn't good for in dining and I would recommend taking away and eating at your chosen location. The Pad Kee Mow is their most popular dish.
This was my favorite lunch spot in Sydney.I have been there more than 30 times at least. Here I had my first tryst with Thai food and I loved it from Day 1.
Each and every item were good. But my personal favorite were -Ā
Ā a) Rice with Jungle Curry and b) Wallabies Special Fried Rice.
Long live Wallabies Thai, you will always be in heart of Indians working within Qantas HC, Mascot.
DELICIOUS :). I don't know what people on here are talking about. Seriously , I get food from here frequently as I work in the area and it's delicious!!! The serving sizes are also very generous. it's one of those places that's good to have in the area but not a place you would go out of your way to eat if you didn't work or live near it. it's one of the better thai takeaway shops. But I recommend it , definitely no complaints from me. as for non friendly staff...if you're hungry who really cares as long as the food tastes good
Had casual lunch here and it was really very good. (Green curry - seafood). Returned for evening meal next day and had even better meal (duck). Partner had same Green Curry, and was just as great. Full marks for service, taste & consistancy.
I stay in this area for work sometimes and have never ventured out of the hotel. I looked on urbanspoon to see if there was anything around and found this place. The food is good, cheap and very quick. I'll be going back next time I'm here.
Red duck curry. Or peanut sauce duck. I love duck. Especially the duck here.
I've found it a bit hit in miss, you can always judge a good thai place by its mussaman - and at times its like they've watered it down.
good for a quick, convenient, and relatively cheap thai meal!
Tried this place during lockdown and was not disappointed! Very reliable Thai and prices were very reasonable. Lunch time specials are also great.
Prefect place for lunch.
Super quick, efficient and plentiful!
Recommend for a quick bite !
The Pad Thai and rice noodle dish we had was amazing!! The flavour was great. The beef could be more tender but overall it was delicious and we would definitely go here again! Be mindful of the chilli though.. it's super spicy!! If you can't handle too much heat we would recommend asking for little or no chilli.
Came across this shop situated right in corner and fragrance of that food was buzzing. Decide to place order there... Friendly staff and good service...Very competitive pricing and we ordered following :
Pad kra pow : this is the staple of Thai cuisine, and as simple as it is with using the fewest ingredients, chances of getting it wrong is extremely less but I guess the chefs just tried shortcuts. Chicken is generally minced and basil leaves are used more to give it strong taste and majority of times it is served with egg but in this one instead of using minced chicken, they used chicken thin cut long strips which doesn't enhances the taste of the diah and to be fair basil leaves wasn't that much and egg was missing, which still is fair but how can they just use shortcuts. I have traveled extensively in thailand and know this bit for sure, hence this dish is not recommended unless they get the basic right.
Pad Prik With seafood : beautiful dish with calamari and other seafood, cooked well and tasted even better, loved it, spicy level medium had me going but the taste really made me unstoppable...so good, highly recommended.
Penang Curry : Beautiful curry with bang on taste, the consistency of the curry was smashing, just balanced taste with coconut milk and other spices, tasted delicious and we we had tht with vegetables and tofu and boy I never thought it can be so good, well done for that and presentation for the curry is perfect.
All in all, the place has good thai vibe with friendly service and for office staff it's good to satisfy the taste buds but would appreciate more if they can get the basics right.
Food is very good and prices are reasonable
