Atypical "suburban chinese", ticks every box - run down exterior, kitsch decor, extensive menu with variations on usual themes. Sweet&Sour, Black Bean, Sesame, etc and of course combination meats!
I wanted a simple, light meal for lunch so strolled here and it was everything I could ask for.
Ordered the combination short & long soup, which is the meal to order when you don't know what to order. Light salty broth, tasted as fresh as the day the stock powder was opened. A few fresh veg and some slivers of tenderised meat, floating around a bundle of chewy noodles and slippery wontons. Not too much flavour, no surprises, just "take-away chinese, mate" - Perfect!
Will have to go back and try the chow mein next, I have high expectations.
For now, 3 stars. If the chow mein is good and the prawn chips plentiful, it'll get 4 or 5
