They do great wood oven pizza here and the desserts are pretty decent.

Love that place in spring and summer sitting outside right by the lake beatuiful ! Go there just for a coffee its worth it ! During the winter inside is warm and cosy great for a hot chocolate and good meal !

Tried this place for brekky this morning and it's not bad, but definitely not the best brekky around- that's just my opinion because I was disappointed in the poached eggs not being runny and pancakes not fluffy enough. It's fast paced and very busy with pretty friendly service. The brekky is fairly basic options at a slightly higher price than I think is necessary, but hit the spot all the same. I liked the housemade beans and the iced coffee was deelish 👍

Poppy popped in for a quick pizza at lunchtime and was quite surprised at how good it was. I ordered the Inferno, it wasn't too hot, could have been hotter. pizza base was nice and thin with quality topping ingredients. however extremely expensive for what you get but it hit the spot. Prices are too high, please lower them. Much appreciated. Thumb up, worth an eat 👍. Update on the fettuccine Alla Panna, it was fantastic!! Absolutely delicious

This place is amazing. We sat right on the water, watching the ducks and sitting out in the beautiful sun. The meals we had were delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, but need to clear their tables quicker as it got quite busy. Need a bigger inside seating area but overall was very very satisfied and definitely will recommend to other and be back there myself again.

Location is everything!
This is halfway between the North and the city.
It can be quite a tranquil setting, so what I suggest is a meal or a coffee followed by a stroll around the lake, could actually be a perfect date:)
It's a cafe and is always quite busy, service is average and food is ok, it's nothing to rave about.
I do go here quite often so yes I shall be returning as its a easy solution:)

Second home. A few work mates and myself have a weekly gathering here. We are regulars an wouldn't have it any other way. The staff are amazing, sometimes stop for a chat, always make us welcome. The food? Holy c**p where do I start? those pizzas are amazing, I wouldn't know about much else as I either go wedges or pizza, but both are such good quality. ending the night with a coffee is a must!

10/10 couldn't ask for more!. Went here on Sunday with my girlfriend for breakfast and coffee. got there at 10am and got a table right on the lake under a clean new umbrella. We both orderd the $13 big breakfast (eggs, bacon, tomato, home made bread toasted. Seriously good value as it was cooked very well. Quality and fresh ingredients combined with a great latte and the view and location is amazing. Food arrived in perfect time with a very polite waiter full of smiles and pepper mill. 10/10 definitely will be back (maybe 2 weekends in a row lol)

Great place to catch up with the girls for a coffee, the Boatdeck Bruschetta is delicious & their Iced Coffee would have to be the best around!

A pleasure.. The other reviews are right, the Boatdeck Café is an excellent destination to eat. Is it perfect? No... but I took my mother and a friend for breakfast on Sunday morning, and we all agreed it's a fine restaurant.

So why not perfect? Let's deal with that first. The café is 'long and narrow', with counter/cake display/bar running 2/3 of the length. We sat on the eastern end, and this was a mistake. First thing I noticed was the bar was using spare space at the eastern end for beverage case storage..., with my back against the window, my view was on par with eating in a warehouse. Not cool. The cases of liquids should be stored out of sight, or hidden behind the bar.

A scan around revealed a lack of attention to cleaning detail. The power point on a pillar behind me had a thick coating of dust, and the bottles on display above the bar (the bar has display boxes way up high, with wine bottles on display, stacked vertically) were coated with a quite visible coating of dust (accentuated by the downlights inside the display boxes).

Nit picky, I know - but when you spend a lot of money making a place look good, you should keep it like that, and have a keen eye for details. I'd imagine getting the big ladder out to dust the wine display only needs to happen once every couple of weeks, but running a damp rag over rails, power outlets and other little 'shelves for dust' is something that should be part of a normal cleaning routine.

Another issue was the size of the tables. The regular square tables, with three sitting and enjoying a meal were set with four chairs - an impossible situation. With our three plates on the table, it would have been impossible for an extra setting to fit (without having plates pushed sideways, anyway). Honestly, you'd get away with it for coffee and cake, but for a meal, I'd hate to take a party of four and find we were seated at one square table. I didn't have four, and I haven't had the problem - but if you're booking for four, I'd make sure they intend to push two tables together.

The floor is plain concrete, with glue/scuff marks visible from the previous covering. You can get away with that if the floor is solid, but the concrete had an ugly crack. The chairs scraped like fingernails on a chalkboard! The owners should think about laying some sort of covering - carpet isn't great in places like this, but perhaps a low cost floating floor or something along those lines. At least the floor was clean, with no signs of spills and such like.

The other problem that quickly surfaced was the noise from the bar. The clanking of coffee saucers and general noise (everything that went on behind that bar seemed to be noisy) hampered our conversation! This issue would be easily solved by sitting at the western end of the eatery, another good tip for intending diners.

However, that's enough of my pedantic-ness! The service was always friendly and welcoming. Actually, it's fair to say the service was exceptional. The staff seem to enjoy working there, and were very fast to clear any plates or glasses. The owner should write a manual for hiring and motivating staff, because his techniques defiantly work! I was impressed.

The only thing that out-shone the staff was the food.... I had their "The Lot Cooked Breakfast" and everything was perfect. The serve was huge, the price quite reasonable ($13.90), and everything was spot on. Our friendly server offered seasoning at the table, her pepper grinder under her arm. Excellent. My friend enjoyed the Eggs Benedict on Toast, with no complaints and mum took on the Eggs and Bacon on Toast. She was jealous of my tomato, I suspect when we return she may request added tomato, or perhaps 'The Lot' hold the mushrooms! Either way, the kitchen at the Boatdeck did a fine job.

When it was time to leave, I was glad of the second doorway being accessible at the eastern end of the café. While it did annoy to have a door so close to the table (I would normally rather be seated away from an entry and exit point), by the time we finished, the counter/bar area was packed with people waiting to order. Considering the cold and miserable weather, it shows what a success the Boatdeck Café is. This is a success well deserved, and I hope to visit again for a dinner or lunch sometime soon.

Good pizzas and classic restaurant/pub style foods. Club sandwich was not bad. Iced coffees were really sweet.

When walking my dogs, I need a good coffee. Plenty of seating and great food and service, pet friendly too.
