The rating is entirely based on the dish that I had which was the mushroom and chilli scrambled eggs. It’s definitely a five star oh so yummy! The mushroom was cooked with a sauce that is similar to oyster sauce and the eggs were cooked perfectly to my liking: soft and fluffy, and a hint of chilli just makes it even better! The service was good and it wasn’t crowded at weekend lunchtime, I will come back and try out other items on the menu.
What a lovely place this restaurant is! The food definitely met our expectations and then some. A bit pricey, but the atmosphere and staff were very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone trying to have a good time out!
This place is great.
Been here a couple times now and food is always on point. Only negative is how small/ cramped the seating & spacing is.
We took mum and a friend for lunch on a Monday and loved the decor and the menus (trip down memory lane) and the dinnerware.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had the toasty with mushrooms on the side and the others had herb mushrooms on toast. Everything was very tasty.
The coffee and little lemon cake were yum.
Food is delicious. Service is good. I went there for brunch. Quite a big portion. Love the trio mushroom. Steak sandwich is alright. Coffee is good there.
Mrs S is one of my favourite local spots, walking distance from me and my go to for Panna Cotta and fresh fruit for a nice light brunch. Staff are always friendly too 😊
The Cafe has a vintage decor with a very comforting ambience, there is nothing pretentious or overly fancy. The interior layout is reasonably spacious and the service was prompt and efficient.
Food wise it was excellent. I had the pulled pork on cornbread with poached eggs. Note the portion was deceptively large, and it took some serious effort to finish this calori-rich meal. My body has to do some serious work to digest this meal, 4 hours later I'm still feeling rather full.
The pulled pork was generous in portion, tender, and the eggs were poached perfectly. The cornbread itself felt a little dense but delicious nonetheless.
Being so close to home this seems like a great little spot for the casual lunch. I do look forward to coming back and trying a few more dishes.
the interior was very pretty and artsy, and we loved the little golden books as menus. the ambience of the place was slightly uncomfortable, however the food was delicious with large portions. appearance wide, it was a great place.
Funky little spot, great food and great service. The crowd was great too. Ordered the pull pork and it was so melt in the mouth. Will definitely head back for brunch again!!
Awesome! My second visit. The second of many. The staff are terrific and the food is impeccable. Dunno about the use of lavender coloured panels in the decor LOL. Very reasonably priced in today's market, with generous serves of each dish. Chapel's used to be my autopilot go to but not any more. I cannot stress how good the food and service is. You wanna close a business deal? Bring your client to Mrs S.
We went to Mrs. S for brunch. So lucky to get a table in a minute. As you can see, we ordered some normal dishs. But have to mention that the chiriso is so tasty. Especially go with the scramble egg. YUM
The service was great. When they realised I was waiting for a friend to arrive they took my tea order at my table (you normally order and pay at the counter).
The food was delicious. My only extremely #firstworld minor gripe was the egg was not runny as I’d expect for a poached egg.
The tea and menu selection is vast and creative. This isn’t a boring breakfast place so it’s sure to satisfy. Definitely worth making a trip for.
Happy To Eat Anyday Anytime Anywhere
+4.5
We visited on a Saturday for lunch. We ordered the open steak sandwich and the avo smash and coffees. The food was delicious, generous and fresh and the ice coffee with vanilla ice cream was to die for. Can’t wait to go back
Cute. Quirky. Friendly service. Coffee prompt and hot. Accomodating to menu changes/ ordering of sides without being charged for toast you can't eat. Lovely!
Been here 3 times, favourite in maylands and one of my favourites in perth. All the beautiful staff members are soo welcoming. You would want to order there entire menu cos the food is just awesome. Cosy seating inside, or nice side seats on the outside. Food comes out time always, and very well presented. Defs recommend!
Great cafe! Quirky inside with different tables (we sat at a table next to the window which had one seat being cushions "inside the window"). We sat down around 11am so we had no problems getting a table but I can definitely imagine it's quite busy earlier.
Food came out very quick and portions were way bigger than we expected. Their cakes are delicious and different - we tried a date cake covered in coconut flakes and it was perfect!
This place is very busy for breaky on the weekends, twice have turned up only to find a queue. Fortunately we tried coming for lunch instead one day when it was quieter and got a table. Steak sandwich was awesome - loaded with caramelised onions, crispy bacon, asparagus and lots of sauce! Watermelon juice was also good. Hubby also enjoyed the pulled pork and beetroot baguette. Staff very friendly. Will definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
Had the benedict with smoked salmon on brioche toast with chicken chipolatas. I felt like it was ok without being great. Hollandaise was a bit bland and lacked flavour.
Really cute cafe, friendly staff and quick service. This place gets very busy on the weekends, however there's quite a bit of seats. The presentation is beautiful and food was delicious
Great ambience, friendly staff & delicious food. I've been here several times and I've enjoyed every one of my meals. Recently I've been really enjoying the pulled pork & chilli scrambled eggs. Their panna cotta is also another fav - so pretty as well!
Such a gorgeous cafe with really lovely staff. Their food is amazing and portion size was really big. Had the manwich which is pulled pork with a cucumber pickle and beetroot relish, Tasted beautiful!
I thoroughly enjoy this quaint little coffee shop in Maylands. It is quite popular despite the competition in the area. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable, prompt and friendly. It is a great place to catch up with friends/family for breakfast and the food is delicious with great diversity in the menu options. It is quite small and cosy but nonetheless I don't really have anything bad to say about this place. Perhaps a better range of takeaway options?
Visited this place on a busy Sunday morning. Service was very quick & friendly. Ordered a perfect winter warmer tomato based soup with beans, chorizo, & tasty cheese in it. Comes with poached egg 🍳 & ciabatta on side make this dish a big portion to share between 2. Took home some delicious pineapple cake & peach vanilla muffin. 🍰 our new favourite place on the list!
Yummy breakfast and cakes, lovely little cafe with cute details and a cosy homestyle feel. Staff were pleasant! Cute little spot definitely a place to revisit time and time again
Honestly the quickest service I've ever had at a cafe! Our coffees were at our table faster than they could heat up the delicious banana choc chip loaf we ordered! Also 100% recommend the hot chocolate, its soo good
Great coffee and selection of breakfast/brunch menu. We had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, pulled pork with chilli scrambled eggs with toasted ciabatta, home made relish and dressed leaves with side of mushrooms and another with a side of bacon, and chorizo mushroom and bean hot pot with poached egg, parmesan cheese, roasted peanuts and toasted ciabatta. Generous serving sizes. Delicious!
Outstanding breakfast and yummy coffee!! Had the scrambled eggs and pulled pork but modified with corn bread and a side of hollandaise sauce 👌 girlfriend got eggs Benedict with bacon and gave it a 5/5 and I'd agree when I tried it. Broke my 2 weeks vego diet for this as the first meal and had a happy belly. I should have had it with normal bread because sweetness was too much but still ate all of it. Definitely coming here again and grabbing carrot cake if i see it. Seems home made bread and bakery treats so extra points and awesome service!! Love this place!!
Lovely cafe, one of my fav in Perth. Coffee and foods always good. Rose & berry Panna cotta and steak sandwich this time 😋 tried their pulled pork chili scramble eggs and avocado toast that's really yummmm too!
Used our entertainment book voucher for breakie here this morning. We both got poached eggs on toast, mine with homemade baked beans and my fiancée with roasted tomatoes, avocado and bacon. With a small latte and large cappuccino. It was delicious. Using our voucher it was reasonably priced however I wouldn't return due to the steep cost. I would recommend it to others though :) also the parking is only street parking something to keep in mind.
This would have to be one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Such fresh flavours it was delish. Perfect eggs which is a must. Cute little cafe with quick service. You have to go!
A classic if you're a maylands local. Always good food, good service and great coffee. This place gets super busy on the weekends so be prepared to wait for awhile. Worth the wait.
We first visited Mrs S several years ago and came back this morning. Has the cafe changed ownership over the years? It doesn't have the same feel about it (I know the decor has changed, but it was more than that). Our breakfasts were fine although the pulled pork was on the dry side. Service friendly and staff were eager to help. Coffee and tea, no complaints there. Overall, an enjoyable experience.
Pretty good. Enjoyed their eggs benedict, the sauce was lemony which is great as so many other places just taste bland. The sprinkle of cayenne was a nice addition to. We used to come here a lot a few years ago when their menu was small seems the larger menu has drawn a bigger crowd. Wish they still had the croquet monseuir though.
Nice little local cafe. I have a real soft spot for the menus in the old little golden books. Coffee is good and the food is fresh and simple. Good spot for a casual brunch and you can even take you 4 legged friend and sit outside.
Very friendly staff, food was awesome especially he egg benedit!!! PERFECT!!! Pet friendly outside seat as well... feel free to bring your dog along:) coffee was made perfect as well!!!!
Friendly service and awesome food! Love what We ordered - oven roasted pumpkin wedge and the pulled pork & chili scrambled egg. However not so much love for the coffee, coffee is too weak for my liking.
Love, love ,love! Amazing food, and great staff. Come here a lot for breakfast and have tried a few different dishes and all fabulous. Great coffee too
Delicious!! My favourite little cafe. When you walk in you'll first notice the quaint decor and furniture, and when you order the staff are great. Above all, the food is always consistently delicious!
Awesome cafe probably one of the most complete cafes it has it all. Had a Salmon Bagel for Lunch was absolutely fantastic, you are probably saying how fantastic can a Salmon bagel be everyone does them which is true but not everyone does them as well it is the attention to detail in all aspects of the cafe which is the point of difference.
Great decor and coffee.. but it seems this coffee shop is quiet. Not enough people and the atmosphere isn't that nice. The cakes are only okay, compared to Sherbet across the road Mrs S can't compare. But still not bad.
We had a lovely breakfast at Mrs. S. I had the Rose and berry panna cotta which was absolutely divine. The husband had the eggs Benedict with chorizo, which was delicious too. Coffee was good, and we loved the decor. Will be back!
I went here for breakfast and ordered the panna cotta and it was very good. The fruit was fresh and it was very delicious. They had muffins and cakes at the counter that looked really good. I was tempted to buy a few to try but didn't in the end. The staff were friendly and everyone's food came out at the same time and fast which is a plus in my books. I would recommend this place and will definitely be going back.
Stopped in for a takeaway coffee. Mrs. S allowed us to call ahead, and coffees were ready in a takeaway tray right on time. Couldn't resist also getting a nectarine, berry and walnut muffin.., which was so fresh and large, we devoured it. Lovely place, great atmosphere, will definitely come again. Thank you, Mrs. S!
We had brunch here and it was a good experience. A small but busy place with a nice setting. Wanted to try their cakes as they looked good but was too full already :(.
I really enjoy coming here. You won't be disappointed, great food, coffee and the staff are really friendly.
If it's a big group you will probable need to book a table as it's a pretty popular spot.
It's a lovely quirkier place than normal. Loved the presentation of the menus and the staff were very attentive to our needs. The food was hot and tasty my only issue was the coffee was a bit weak. The juice was really nice.
Street noise was just a little issue when trying to eat.
Visited Mrs. S for breakfast and was extremely happy with the quality of the food, coffee and service. Mrs S. is a must try café in Perth, with delicious meals, great presentation and a quirky atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back!
Came during the lunch hours and it was packed!!!! Even though it is small but the staffs are just great and efficient enough to keep tables rotating without customers feeling uncomfortable. Very good management indeed.
The food are out of the world!!! Beautifully presented and clean appearance. Taste is fantastic and very well designed.
Barista performed very well and artistically present coffee at a proper temperature. A must try.
Price is very reasonable based on the quality of food.
Fantastic café. Loved the menus attached to children's little golden books, brought back a few memories. The chorizo and mushroom hotpot was perfect, would highly recommend. Had some pretty great coffee as well.
I was impressed by this little cafe. No wonder it has such a good rep. Good service, generous serving size, cute decor and delicious food. Had the smoked salmon salad and enjoyed the unique favour combinations (esp the chili lime dressing and seaweed).
The good reviews lead me here and I'm glad. Although by the end of the day the cakes on the counter were not as appetising as marketing images suggested, the meal we enjoyed was delicious.
Service - fast and friendly
Atmosphere - loud and a bit squeezy ... lots of energy.
I can see the attraction and will be back to try a burger.
Friendly service, generous serving. The food was beautiful and delicious! It was our first time there and we weren't disappointed! Will definitely be back again!
Great corner cafe offering great coffee n yummy fresh cakes. Been here lots n lots of times n just love it! Always busy n sometimes hard to get a table so might have to walk around the block a few times. Definitely recommend this place.
Came for brunch with a local friend who loves this spot. Really busy all the time but now I know why. Congrats Mrs S on the success. You've smashed the formula, good location, great food, great coffee, and attentive smiling staff. You just need more space to grow and take in more customers.
What a cozy gorgeous place. I got the Mrs S salmon salad, generous amount and the accompanying dressing served in a bowl was delicious! The panna cotta is visually stunning, I'm told tasted good as well. Keen to be back!
I'm obsessed with the Poached Chicken and Walnut salad from Mrs. S! Sooo so tasty and light! Service here is good and it'salways busy. I've been here a few times and pretty satisfied with each visit. A good local place :)
I had the hotpot, was a huge meal! Toast was excellent, flavours in the pot were varied yet wholesome and fresh. Husband had pulled pork and chilli scrambled eggs - another huge meal. Pulled pork was great however eggs could have been cooked with fresh chilli rather then chilli flakes. Good coffee and chia tea latte which is often hard to find. Staff are attentive and friendly. Wish they did table service though.
Delightful just like the one in Highgate. Lovely decor, great food and prompt service.
Love the lemon curd cake, I've had one few days ago but ordered one again today...it's moist and not overly sweet.
The steak sandwich is amazing! Very generous serving. Like the presentation of the granola, great start to a day.
Good Food, quick service, reasonably price, but the seating arrangement was a bit stuffy. The pulled-pork and chilli scrambled egg was good. The pork was a bit dry, perhaps a bit of sauce would make it better. The egg was cooked nicely. The egg benedict was also good. Overall I was pleased with the experience.
Decided to try Mrs S. after hearing some awesome reviews and seeing some delicious photos. Came here for breakfast and was lucky enough to get a table despite it being packed.
Loved the decor. Loved the atmosphere. Service was quick and friendly. I thought that the food was excellent and very generous (so much so that I couldn't finish mine!) I loved my EB tea however my partner didn't think his coffee was quite up to par.
Overall I highly enjoyed Mrs S. Will definitely come back, especially to try their famous raindrop cake. Only complaint was the table seemed too small to fit all our food 😝
A small bustling cafe situated on the corner of a small but flourishing area of Maylands, Mrs S caters for the crowds looking to satisfy their hunger. The food was appetising and had a balanced blend of flavours, presented fairly nicely. The coffee was good. Interior was fairly rustic, which presented a relaxed atmosphere.
Mrs S never fails to amaze me. Their all day breakfast menu is varied and extensive and I ordered the almond, oat and honey granola with poached peaches and fruit. The poached peach is amazing and juicy. The vanilla yogurt and milk complement the muesli. The oats and almonds are tossed and toasted with honey to create a crunchy muesli. The fruit was fresh and helped the dish work together.
Great food any time! Went for brunch on saturday morning, it does get busy so you might have to wait for a table. Amazing cold pressed juices and desserts on display are a sweet tooth's dream.
I really just wanted this to be a one or two word review because if you could only choose two items from here it would be these - coffee and the one and only MANWICH. What more do you need?
We started with coffee (Short Mac – Trad) while we perused the menu. The Almond, Oat and Honey Granola looked especially inviting so I ordered it alongside another coffee. Our orders came out quickly and my Granola was perfect. It was beautifully presented and tasted lovely. It wasn’t soggy in any way and was light and fresh. I would totally recommend it as an alternative to dishes based around bread or eggs.
Mrs. S is synonymous with being an institution of the Perth brunch scene, and that's because the quality is consistent, the service is quick and friendly, and the SERVINGS ARE HUGE. Seriously, I don't think I've had such generous serving-to-price ratio's in many other places (maybe Gusto Food in South Perth...?) - these guys do a good job of just serving really honest food with a smile.
Breakfast here the other day was good, had the scrambled egg and pulled pork and the hotpot, the latter of which was a bit of a let down. The coffee was very good and service excellent.
This is the first cafe located opposite the train station, so walked straight in for a nice lunch. Lovely ambience and decor and a great selection of decadent cakes! Lovely menu and good selection of delicious food! Service was friendly and efficient.
First of all shared the lemon sponge cake with a latte and iced latte, moist and tasty! Unfortunately no vanilla syrup which is a downer but both went down well anyway :) We both ordered the pulled pork, chilli scrambled eggs on ciabatta. Was huge! Filled us up completely, which is rare these days! Absolutely gorgeous and would definitely order again! Overall a nice lunch out.
My only complaint is the tables are way too close together and need to be spread out a bit, my butt was literally hanging over my neighbours table trying to get in. Other than that all good :) a nice place to hang out with friends and catch up.
Oh yes! What a great place to come and treat yourself in the charms of cute decor and delish cakes!
Customer service was amazing (they have grey throws to wrap around yourself if you want to really snuggle away from the cold!) it felt like sitting at home. The food was amazing and I love the intricate flowers and flavours added to the cakes and pastries. Highly recommend!!!!
Mrs. S Maylands is a cafe that’s built up quite the reputation in recent years due to consistently high quality of its food and cute, casual space. Menus are attached to Little Golden Books that instantly bring back childhood memories and there’s a whimsical innocent feeling to the entire venue – a large communal table, flowers, figurines and cookbooks.
Just happened to be rolling by and thought I'd try this place because it was busy. Coffee is great tasting, not hot but very warm. Service is quick and friendly. Cakes are delicious. Give it a go.
Nice decor and vibe, and they have long table if you come in big group. Their menu has a good variation. Love the manwich and the mrs s salmon salad. The pulled pork and scrambled egg was so-so.
Excellent coffee, less than $5 for a takeaway soy cap in a good size cup. Got to be happy with that. Recommended. Very quirky hipster decor and vibe. Pleasant experience with staff.
Got here and wasn't really welcomed by staff as they seemed preoccupied. The food and drinks are quite pricey. Ordered a pulled pork with scrambled egg on bread and friend ordered burger. Food was only ok. My cold pressed orange and apple juice was nice but a bit pricey for $6.50.
Ever on the hunt for the best Eggs Bene in Perth, this place is a contender! Funky, some might say "typical Perth hipster" decor, very friendly staff and great location for some people watching, the food is also delicious. My Eggs Benedict was huge! Great value for money! My only gripe is maybe less is more....take one ingredient off the dish and it would be almost perfect :) recommend this place!!!
It was a great weather on Sunday, I checked in Mrs. S to spend my late lunch here. I ordered usual latte for my daily coffee, it was such amazing shot and lovely pattern on top! I couldn't wait for my two plates ordered during that. First comes with egg Benedict with spicy chorizos on sides. The spicy chorizos just tastes so juicy and fresh which I never forget. Another plate is pulled pork with chilly scramble eggs with extra free-range chicken chipolatas. Personally I like the chipolatas than pulled pork, cause it's more fresh and healthy also definitely tastes amazing good too!!
Overall I want come back again! Yum!
Have always loved it here. The breakfasts are bright, funky and always slightly adapting. The cakes make it very hard to resist and the staff are generally awesome and very onto it.
Mrs S has sold the show to what is now A Vietnamese family run business. Had an excellent traditional breakfast with beautiful sour dough bread, two fresh eggs and loads of bacon, tomatoes and big dark intact mushrooms. The trend is emerging for cross-culture fusion gourmet in Perth and the Vietnamese/Chinese influence on some of the dishes is evident. Stay clear of the pork breakfast dish if you don't find the Chinese sweet style of cooking pork appetising. The change of ownership, no longer purely Anglo Saxon with late Victorian charm has not deteriorated, the standard is still there, but if you want a traditional western breakfast, best you ask at the counter which Asian style dishes to avoid. Recommended for all the 3 essentials - food, service, ambience.
this place rarely gets it wrong, i have the scrambled eggs and the chicken chipolatas everytime and they come out perfect, fluffy and delicious every single time...service exceptional too..can't fault them
m, no wonder they get packed all the time...
Awesome food! Awesome service! Everything was fresh - waitress worked hard and compensated for having to move us to a different table with a free coffee!
Cool atmosphere, delicious cake and great food. Definitely the best cafe in Maylands. Often gets pretty packed out but somehow always seem to get a table.
Nice cafe with indoor and outdoor dining. Had the best breakfast bowl which had lots of fruit. This was the only vegan choice and I would like to see hot vegan choices. Tòok out a lemon curd mini cupcake which was delicious. Service was friendly and quick.
Love this place. The coffee and food are worth a try. It’s always busy which is also a good sign.
Popular many different choices I had Tasmanian salmon with egg and broccoli on toast $24.50 a large amount of salmon with a lemon lime @bitters
Delicious food, cool a/c on a very hot humid day and nice staff 👍
Mrs S you've done it again. Both food and coffee are consistently good every time. Yum.
Love Mrs S.
Food is amazing! Great menu, great coffee and delicious cakes.
Tasty chilli eggs and mushrooms with a good mocha were enjoyed. Service was efficient and friendly. Suggest that you get in early to beat the rush!
