Review The Little Shop Of Plenty - Maylands

If it's Vegan Vego you're after 'The Little Shop of Plenty' ticks the box. Great little selection of wholesomeness on offer with a selection of ready made takeaway food & shelved products available. I ordered a coffee with their hazelnut milk (made on premises) and it was divine. Service was good, seating is tight but comfortable. There are a few separate areas to find seating with a large shared table in the first room for a big groups as well as outdoor in better weather. Definitely will be revisiting.

Having brekky now and it’s gorgeous. Fruit parfait and an iced latte with their own home made almond milk. Staff are delightful and always have a smile and time to chat. Love the little shop as well. All sweets are gluten free. Everything made fresh. Best cafe ever.

Great place for vegans to hang out. I took a gang of 12 Vegans there yesterday and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Plenty of space and the food was really tasty. I highly recommend the mushroom burger. The breakfast risotto looks awesome as does the bruschetta.

The Little Shop of Plenty is a great health cafe, it has a nice atmosphere with great staff and service. I wish there was a bit more variety in the menu and the place is kinda pricey, however this is justified by the high quality ingredients and meals that are without gluten, organic, etc. I personally don't usually go to places like this, but i can apperciate them from an outside perspective...this is probably one of the best ones I've been to.

Great food but at a price. Had a delicious meal here, but for the serving size the price was a bit steep, I left still feeling hungry but my wallet was also empty! Aside from the price the food was absolutely delicious, blending a wide variety of spices and a perfectly cooked egg on top was so tasty! Will probably come back.

Very tasty and all vegan! This place is very good. Bit expensive though. The abundance bowl and kombucha on tap were both great!
Gina
Lovely atmosphere and setting. Friendly services and always great option of menu! Feeling healthy! Loved to check out their little shop inside.

Mostly Gluten Free, Can be Dairy Free and no added Sugar. Whoever has got used to added artificial sugar may not appreciate their food but I like their style. Less Sugar, Isn't it should be every restaurant does?

These guys are open Friday and Saturday nights. Our party of 4 had the 3 course banquet. All was delicious. Jackfruit burgers. On tap kombucha. Friendly service. Cool tunes spun by the owner who was DJing in the courtyard. Just a great night, with awesome food, reasonable prices (starter+main+dessert+1x wine or beer = $47pp)at a place that genuinely cares about each dish. Will be coming back again for sure.

great food and service appears unaware that people eat after mid afternoon why cant they stay open for evening meals? surely demand exists even if only for takeaways the culture in perth is very weird
Daniel
Had brunch with my friend here a while back. A cafe that caters to everyone and anyone. If you have a dietary requirement this place is a must visit. If you like good, healthy food this place is a must visit

Nice fresh food offered. A decent variety of healthy meals. Take away lunches are great options for busy, on the go people. Staff can come across quite rude when ordering, simply requested an Organic Beetroot Latte, which is stated on the menu, and they go on and on about how they don't do lattes, so ended up getting an iced drink. A bit disappointing with the service, but the food was nice.

Went to The Little Shop of Plenty for a Sunday lunch.
Staff were all very friendly and service was quick.
We had the banana & blueberry bread ($23) which was great and I had the iced chocolate with hazelnut milk ($10). The food/ drinks however for the sizes are overpriced in comparison to other places.

Awesome little place, such a cool set up being in a old auto shop, the cold pressed juices are to die for & the meals are vegan friendly! Loved it!

Love this place and happy to travel from Freo when we have time. If you love fresh, healthy, hearty food that just happens to be vegan - you will love it. I love the abundance bowl and their hearty, filling deserts. Absolute BEST matcha latte with almond milk in Perth! The staff are very business-like which sets them apart from many other vegan/Vego places, but in a nice way - actually kind of refreshing when so many food places in Perth have staff that are just too casual. Always tell people about it and rave about the food but forget to take photos until I'm halfway through the meal!
OnePointFive
A very nice cafe in Mayland selling raw products. I bought specially roasted organic coffee by Fiori and didnt disappoint. It's really good coffee made by experinced barista. I'd love to try their food one day.

Good little cafe - such lovely staff and tonnes of seating, really like the amount of outdoor seating available. Coffee is standard, slightly bitter. Came here for breakfast and we ordered the banana crepes and the mushroom on toast with extra avocado and eggs. The crepes for me weren't very banana tasting and were over powered by the berry compote. The mushrooms are quite bland without the cashew cream, definitely need the side of avocado with that dish. For me, the menu definitely needs expanding. Really enjoyed the raw dessert we had afterwards, was very good!! Still a lovely little cafe. Read more at www.anikajune.wordpress.com

Love this place and its one of our fave places to go in Perth. The old garage has been reconverted into a beautiful space that is ambient and inviting. You can see the effort and thought that has been put into each dish. Everything is fresh, healthy and tasty.
Emma
kindly greated by the cashier, then ordered a cocowhip with caramel sauce for 8.50 that didn't even fill the cup and was spilling off the side. appalled something worth 5 spoonfuls costed that much and the 'caramel sauce' tasted like ginger more than anything. please increase your serving size so we get good value because it's not the first time i have been giving that amount for that much and it's just not worth it.

Love this place! Spacious cafe with quick and friendly service. The menue has so many interesting, healthy options and the food is very tasty. Many paleo and vegan options. High quality produce used to make a wonderful variety of thoughtful dishes.
Perth Eater
Amazing food, love this place. Best tempeh I've ever eaten. Also try their coco whip, delicious. Mostly vegan options, great selection of food.
Sarah
Decor is fresh and inviting. I like that the cafe is split into two rooms separated by a gift shop- adds a sense of intimacy and peace. The menu sounds great and definitely meets the raw, vegan, gluten free, vegetarian customer, however unfortunately the meals are small and overpriced. On my last visit I $20 for three quite small pieces of plain toast and a mason jar smoothie.
Lola
I've been here a few times now and haven't been disappointed. The abundance bowl is amazing as is their warm and toasty selection... Especially the cashew creme fraiche! Their hot chocolate is to die for as it isn't too sweet. The cocowhip is also delicious. I would highly recommend trying this place.

Staff were quite nice but the food definitely made up for the loss there! I had the abundance bowl and it was absolutely amazing! The cafe has a great little set up and the green smoothie was devine. My friend had the kale salad and she said she wasn't too impressed with that but coffee was good!
Lifelovetravelfood
Delicious spot! I've been wanting to come here for ages as I've been intrigued by their healthy menu. I chose an almond milk coffee which was probably one of the best I've had in Perth. For breakfast I had the paleo plate and I loved it! Some things were a little light on portion, such as the sauerkraut and the sweet potato didn't have as much flavour as the description led me to think it would but all in all it was delicious. My friend loved her kelp noodle salad. I'd previously tried my favourite cocowhip here and it was also great.

Very quick service and a cool vibe to the café. Space for prams too which is always a bonus! Fantastic spot, especially if you're vegan, vego or a healthy food lover!
Inexology
TLSP was the perfect venue for a foodie gathering and even though it looked deceivingly small on the outside, it was quite spacious, bright and airy on the inside. They even have a mini sandpit for kids to play in and a lot of space for parents to park their prams.

I ordered the raw pizza with dehydrated field mushrooms, lemon thyme, garlic and cashew creme fraiche. The base of the pizza was made with buckwheat and golden flax. Honestly, I love it :-D, especially the crunchy texture of the mushrooms!

Love coming to this health-food cafe in Maylands. Chilled out vibe, and cool decor. An old garage converted into a clean, white space. Outside seating available, with children's play area. A range of vegan, raw and vegetarian food, beautifully presented and delicious! I often pop by for a takeaway, tumeric latte with homemade almond milk, a raw gingerbread slice or Cocowhip with raw brownie topping! Healthy treats a-plenty! Only downside is that it is quite expensive, although the quality of the ingredients reflects this :)

I was there for lunch on Thursday and the name The Little Shop of Plenty is just the opposite when it came to the serving size of the food. My lunch cost me $27.00. The food itself was $22.00 and the bottled drink $5.00. Considering the ingredients (veg, chick peas, brown rice) don't cost much, why the high cost? Value for money, definitely not!

By the way, I had to go to another cafe an hour later.
Bri
It's always great to see a place dedicated to vegan and vegetarian food. While the breakfast menu was somewhat confusing, what came out was tasty if a little boring. I particularly enjoyed the chia pudding. The ambiance is appealing too with a cute little shop in the middle of the cafe.
Foodielife
i really liked it here, it was really expensive but the quality is high and the ingredients are good quality. I will be back to tackle some of those incredible raw treats you have. I liked the hot chocolate with almond milk, also the cocowhip was delish (but on the pricey end).
Black Cat
A nice regular local venue that I've been visiting since it opened. The feel of the place is fresh, spacious and calming which I love. The food has never let me down and I appreciate how clean, vegan eating can increase the price of some dishes. Service is a little hit and miss which is slightly disappointing, especially with simple things like bringing out 2 coffees together (last visit I had finished mine by the time my partner got his).
DaleyEats
Had a quick coffee stop with mum on Saturday morning. The shop is cute, clean and modern. There are little shawls provided on each table in case you get cold. . Which you will haha. 17.5 gold pieces for 2 coffees and a cake to share. A little pricy.
Frenchtoastandindiepop
We also ordered a berry smoothie. This is where Little Shop of Plenty really shines! It was delicious, balanced between sweet and tart and a great consistency – not too thick or thin. It’s clear this is a cafe that knows how to smoothie. Our first dish was avocado and a slow cooked egg on toast. It was a very small serving for the price you pay. Sure they offer unusual breads (gluten free, paleo options) but almost $20 for a small amount of avocado, two pieces of toast and an egg is unusual in our eating out experience. Surprisingly the slow cooked egg was a little overdone but the avocado and lime was delicious. It was fresh and the flavours were well balanced, we were just really hoping for more!

Ah! The quintessential Perth Dining Experience! Remortgage your home to pay the bill, all the while enjoying service with a sneer and a scowl.
A pity, because the food was quite nice - and it's always great to find vegan options - but the arrogance of the management left a foul aftertaste. Is smiling not cool anymore or something? Getting tired of this city...
Take Me To Foodie Heaven
Elwyn had the Abundance bowl ($22) which comprises of summer green vegetables, grilled baby eggplant, lupin tempeh, miso sesame sauce, creamy tamarind and lime sauce, activated cashews. I had a taste test of Elwyn’s abundance bowl and it was delicious. The lupin tempeh was nutty and chewy in flavour, complementing well with the freshness of the green vegetables and soft textures of the grilled baby eggplant. As a big fan on miso, the miso sesame sauce was the cherry on top giving the abundance bowl its sweet miso flavour.
CoffeeQueen88
Unfortunately my coffee was quite over extracted today. Kombucha was delicious though and my friend had the parfait and it was really good. Got some coco whip to takeaway after with the granola topping which was yum too. Will come back to try again.
TaraLovesLife
I love this shop. It has cocowhip! Amazing range of tea tonic teas in their store section. Delicious vegan menu! Yummy! (I'm not vegan) fresh smoothies and coffees are 5/5 especially with cocowhip in it! 😄

Super ultra healthy food. Food is fresh and delicious. If your looking for Healthy, Organic, Gluten free.........this is the place. A beautiful spot for breakfast. Enjoyable!

This little shop offers big big things ☺️
The food is not only delicious but good for you! I love going here to "treat" myself to a breakfast or lunch out and my body always thanks me. My favourites so far have been the granola, pancakes and cocowhip, I'm not opposed to having "ice cream" as a breakfast food. The coffee is always great, even with almond milk there is no separation. The cold brew recipe is spot on making LSOP the only place I will order it. ✌️

Super friendly staff, and a nice little location. I didn't actually realise that this cafe was paleo-vegan-organic-whatever though, to my detriment. I just wanted a big plate of bacon and eggs, with as many animal products squeezed into it as possible, so it came as a shock that ended up with a couple of sous vide eggs and a piece of toast that resembled a crusket. This is my fault for not checking, it was a bit of a dumb move and I genuinely believe that the healthy eaters among us will absolutely love it here.
Monica Kolundzija
Unreal breakfast. The Avo & Lime smash was amazing, as was the sous vide egg which was perfectly cooked & slid right out of the shell - delicious!
Matt Coyte
Unbelievable wholefood breakfast, the avocado and lime and sweet potato and fennel smash were so yummy. Highly recommend a visit. Good music and popular cafe serving local and organic foods.
Emily Olden
Uncoordinated table service, waiting ages. Expensive but decent array of foods. Not a good date idea as your food will arrive at different times and you'll have to remind staff about your order.
Renee Cochrane
First time reviewing on zomato. Felt like I had to. Just went to Little Shop of Plenty and couldn't believe I paid 5.00 for a small coffee. I was with housemade almond milk. But still very sad to pay this much. Won't go back.
Evan Roberts
Terrible customer service, it was empty with three staff doing nothing yet still took over 10 minutes to place my order. Mediocre coffee. Extremely over priced. Fortunately won't last in Maylands, as there are far too many other great options around.
ChrissyK
Lovely little shop, great customer service and delicious raw sweets. Try your coffee with almond milk. Carrot cake, espresso cake and gingerbread was lovely. Will be back to try their vegan soft serve.

What a lovely addition to Maylands, so close to the station and shops. Really like the different seating options. I was just looking for a coffee and snack this time, but will be back for lunch very soon. Little Shop of Plenty's menu is very enticing, healthy and well priced.
Dorafa
Decent food however tainted by the staff, who made my friend and i feel awkward, an unsettling environment to dine in.

When queried about a mystery latte that we received, wait staff was anything but helpful or sympathetic.

Loved this place as soon as I walked in! Went here for the first time two Fridays ago. At the time I was on a strict diet for 6 weeks (ordered by the doctor) and the lovely girl the counter was so helpful! She knew what was in every single thing and had some great suggestions. I also noticed at the counter that the barista who worked at my local favourite Mrs S since it opened was on the coffee machine! She remembered my face which was nice! I ordered the cocowhip parfait and a boiled egg with gluten free sourdough and a long black. Parfait and coffee were delicious, ONLY negative was my egg was extremely undercooked. I like a runny egg but this was almost raw. Amazing range of raw cakes made on the premises. Took one home for later and it was yum! Will be a regular for sure!

Really loved the food and atmosphere here at little shop of plenty. Really good and pleasant service as well. Paleo plate was lovely- felt that it was really worth the price of $17.50. The raw carrot 'cheesecake' was amazing too. Overall all dishes were good, and would totally come back again for more :)

Nice and calm atmosphere for a Sunday morning brunch. We tried all three different types of toast and the Quinoa was the winner for us. A fantastic matcha latte without that strong bitter taste was really enjoyable.
Louie
Relaxing place to eat or have coffee. Raw/vegan/vego food. Didn't feel pretentious and staff were friendly and happy.
Food was nice but no real wow to anything. Clean tasting and nicely presented and will definitely appeal to those who like raw/vegan.
Coffee was good.
And they do Coco Whip
FatCat
There's a lovely spacious outdoor area and the interior feels light and welcoming - soft colours and comfortable seating - and service was super friendly. The raw desserts at the counter looked very tempting and the coffee was good.

I had high expectations given the overwhelmingly positive reviews but it seems I'm going to be a lone dissenting voice when it comes to the food. The avocado and lime smash was fine although no more memorable than is found at many other cafes, just a little more expensive. The mushrooms with cashew creme fraiche were disappointing - a somewhat miserly serve given the price, they were braised and swimming in liquid and consequently lacked depth of flavour. The partly toasted bread could have benefitted from a smear of olive oil to give it moisture.

It was such a lovely place to sit, I'm disappointed that our food experience did not match the venue.
Jess
This place is great if you want to eat well. If you enjoy a greasy fry up then this place isn't for you. The staff are friendly and the place is bright and relaxing.
Victoria Phan
This cafe is open and spacious. There are plenty of sub sections, giving you an array of choice for seating arrangements both indoor and outdoor. I love that their menu is revolved around healthy and organic produce. I find myself always coming back for that Cocowhip though 😍
T-M@c
It's nice to see another vegan restaurant north of the river. The cocowhip is a little icy compared to the other two Perth distributors but still delicious as are their green juices.
Aneesa Shah
I'm not sure why this place has reviews in the 3's - it's absolutely awesome! I just moved in around the corner and decided to give it a try. The staff were extremely friendly, nothing like I've ever experienced in a cafe in Perth. They catered for all dietary requirements extremely well. The best part of all is the value for money. The prices are quite cheap compared to other similar cafes for incredible serving sizes. This place does not skimp out on avocado! Highly suggest it if you're vegan, paleo or just love health food.
The Breakfast Confidential
There are so many cafes serving fanciful breakfasts with things like slabs of bacon, fried chicken, waffles piled high with sweet adornments and don’t even get me started on the ridiculous milkshakes in mason jars trend. Whilst this stuff sure is Instagram worthy, where you’re going to get plenty of those emoticons with the love hearts for eyes as comments, it is nice to be able to go somewhere for the most important meal of the day and not leave feeling like you should go on the wait list for bypass surgery.
Food And Wine Ombudsman
A new coffee shop café in Maylands, but on the other side of the tracks from the main shopping and eating strip, in the premises of what I recall as an auto electrician’s shop, Little Shop of Plenty is carving out a niche for itself with its organic and raw food emphasis. Dairy and gluten free and using nuts and coconut to manufacture milk, cheeses and the like, they also sell a range of products such as granola from the small retail area of the shop.
Spill The Beans
Cute little café that grows their own organic vegetables outside, adding to the 'raw' theme.

I ordered the 'Paleo Plate' at $15.50 which was extremely reasonable considering these types of places are usually quite pricey. My meal was extremely satisfying and left me full for the rest of the day!

Definitely recommend this place if you like vegan food.
Edenn Eats
My sister and I tried this place on a whim and are so glad we did! A great place that sells raw food that isn't wanky or overpriced! Staff were really nice and not pretentious and suggested we tried the raw carrot cake and it was divine!! Highly recommend and we will be coming back more (especially when I'm in wa again!)

2nd visit - Since when has it been ok to greet a customer with "yep?"? Not cool.

This place is indescribably amazing. My new heaven! It has kombucha on tap(!) (and bottled), red espresso, lots and lots of beautiful raw desserts, cocowhip, beautiful chia puddings, sprouted bread! And that's before I had a look at the dine in menu. And they are doggy friendly. Beautiful service too. I cannot wait to return next weekend to dine in. The red espresso lattes were perfect!
Samantha Cotterell
I absolutely loved this place! The bread was the best "health" bread I have ever tried, the eggs were perfectly cooked and there seasonings were to die for. If your into the health scene and love a good organic cafe this is the place for you. To top it off the staff were friendly and the set up was beautiful! They have a cute little shop and even a little bit ifs veggie garden out the front. Not very often I say this (only cos I love trying new places) but I'll be going back for sure !!

Funky little place with so much potential however. ...

I understand this is a raw food restaurant but the menu only appeals to a very limited audience. There was little or no food for children and I think some adults would struggle.

After we looked at the menu we questioned if we'd stay but decided to give it a go. .. after eating we probably wouldn't be back only because of the menu. Food was prepared and presented very well. ..
Pris
Oh hello neighbourhood shop of sin-less (well, sort of) treats!
I had to take-away as I didn't want to be caught eating them all by myself !

Mango Cocada $3.20 was very refreshing and thank goodness it wasn't too sweet. Visually they look like healthy melting moments.

Espresso mousse $9.50 was light and had a great combo of espresso and coconut cream. Perfect morning tea.

I love cocowhip which they serve here too!
I did try a sample fudge which was quite yummy.
Great super friendly service too 😊
Edward
The Little Shop of Plenty is the newest and most virtuous addition to Maylands. It's on the Lawley side of the tracks and barricaded by a series of concrete sink well gardens. In time it might become an oasis of fruit trees and vegetables. Inside it's bright and wholesome, mostly cafe, though there is small retail space in the middle selling cards and kokedama. There's a short meat free menu, the naughtiest option seems to be a slow cooked egg. There's chia and spirulina wherever you look. . . I settled on the mushroom bowl with lupin tempeh, cashew creme fraiche, brown rice and greens ($22, pleasing) while picking at my companion's Thai style kelp noodle salad ($20, curious).
More Than Nourishment
Went on a Saturday morning and they were quite busy although we could easily get a seat. We both had the almond granola, one in the fresh fruit parfait and the other without. It was tasty however the servings were quite small which is reflected in the price $9.50/$10. The coconut yoghurt was also not quite sweet enough for me. This was disappointing when compared to others I have had in the past. Luckily this left us room to have the cocowhip with hazelnut chunks ($9.50). It was definitely yummy for a dairy-free dessert but on the pricer side which is expected for a 'healthy' option.. Still worth a try!

Very friendly but food was very disappointing, not tasy and not good value for money.Had mushrooms on sprouted bread and couldn't finish the bread.Has a lot of potential but after today I dont think i will be back.Kale cold pressed juice was awful, could not drink it.Really wanted to enjoy the experience but didn't.
The Ponder Room
For a while now I've been watching the slow transformation of an old mechanic workshop into a bright and light café. I've seen a hardware store successfully converted into a café so why not a mechanics shop? This week I took a moment to visit the new occupant, The Little Shop of Plenty.Situated opposite the Dome and Maylands Train Station the café boasts three sitting areas and a small shop of interesting gift ideas.
Believeinyourself
I met Mark and Kim a couple of years ago at the Subi Farmers Market and loved their products and it's been amazing to see how they've grown into this delicious chilled out relaxed eatery that is great for hangouts, family space and just in general great raw/vegan/vegetarian foods. The raw pizzas are a must try, I love the base which isn't dry or dense and very flavoursome. The breakfast options are also great, with options of gluten free breads. They have cold pressed juices, smoothies, selection of desserts and drinks. Highly recommended!
Queen Of Bad Timing
The avocado was zingy and oh so limey, with some lovely fresh greens to accompany. It's quite a generous serving - none of this half an avocado business, I'm pretty sure I was dealing with a whole one here (and quite happily so).

Pleasant and vibrant atmosphere. Deliciously bright and tasty food. Great location!!We shared a Kale super salad between two, and tried a chai, a macha latte, an organic berry smoothie and a cocoa and mint bar from the fridge. Yum yum!

Delicious. Had a fabulous meal at LIttle Shop of Plenty. We had the the Zucchini Pizza and Raw Thai Salad. Full of flavour. Beautifuy appointed reastaurant in Maylands. Great service. Look forward to eating there again.
