Drop in early or late for a meal and snack or just a tipple. Great setup for a catchup with friends, very relaxed and with live music. Definitely a great addition to Eighth Ave in Maylands.
Fabulous, tasty tapas. Highly recommend the pork belly. The service also was very good, very friendly, can’t wait to go back again. Resident artist in the corner, happily painting a landscape. Great vibe!
Service was absolutely amazing. Food was fantastic. The recommended wine choices were great. The atmosphere was wonderful. The decor and lighting gave off a really good vibe. The prices were awesome and they offered some really great specials. I highly recommend, especially for a casual catch up during a week day.
One of our favourite little spots in Maylands. Good coffee, good food (whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner) and the staff are always so kind to us, it’s usually our go-to when we want to take friends or family somewhere nearby for a catch-up. Great vibe too, we just need to make it one of these days for the live music always going on!
I love the vibe here, sitting outside on the tables in the sun is a chill atmosphere which is wanted on a sunny afternoon. The food is actually amazing though, I had the frejole and it was some of the best beans I'd ever had! I'd definitely come back again 😍
The food was excellent! Great chorizo and a decent serving of it too! Eggs were cooked to perfection and the bread was not over toasted. Everything was just right. Been having a hard time finding a good coffee in Perth, but this one was perfect. Asked for a double shot in my iced latte and it was amazingly strong and tasted wonderful.
This place had a super cool vibe. With low key live music you are pleasantly surprised as you walk in the door. The dinner menu is limited but all items I've tried were fairly tasty but not huge servings if you are totally famished.
A great local in Maylands. Fantastic during the day for a relaxed coffee (and baby friendly staff!) and also for Friday night drinks. Good value wine list with a really nice pink fizz!
Been here a few times for coffee, breakfast and a few cheeky beers on a Friday and each time it has been great! Service is always excellent, food is yummo and they have a great range of beers. Live music and a great atmosphere!
Came here for breakfast. Had a dirty chai latte and the French toast. Other people in our group had the harrissa eggs and big breakfast. All meals came out looking and tasting great. Perfect poached eggs. Service was very attentive and friendly. Coffees and food came out quickly. Atmosphere welcoming and warm. There is also an upstairs area with couches (lift or stair access). Would go again.

Best local bar in Maylands. Good priced beers and friendly staff make you feel at home. Outdoor seating is dog friendly which is a big plus.
I come here often and am always impressed! The drinks menu is varied and rotates, food selection is good and the atmosphere excellent. The kind bar/wait staff are always hospitable and welcome a chat.
I like the staff, the atmosphere and the interior design. Great for a friend's catch up on a Sunday afternoon. It is always my go to place if I want a casual drink near my place.
First visit to Henry on eighth Maylands and it will not be the last. Booked a table by sms Saturday and got a response immediately, customer service was really good, made to feel welcome, ordered the platter for sharing - it was fresh, very tasty and service was quick.Good value for money, would highly recommend this little place with a great ambience and service. I would add a photo of the food but we had already eaten half of it when I thought " I should have taken a pic " - it looked sooo good.
Came across this little gem this morning. Coffee was good and the breakfast itself was of a high standard - well priced too. I had the sous vide eggs on toast - 10 bucks! My daughter had the acai bowl which she rated highly. Great fitout, fast service and attentive staff. Highly recommended.

Been to Henry on 8th on 2 occasions now. Had a coffee and a slice of cake. Cake was moist n yummy but a little pricey. Coffee was nice but was small. 2nd time had a burger, once again I think a bit to pricey for Maylands. - Overall its a nice place, some friendly staff some not so friendly. Interior is beautiful with exposed beams n brick work n good choice of furniture, its also nice n clean. Will go back but Im hoping they can offer some specials and maybe offer a bit more of a exciting menu.
Nice bar with good atmosphere. They have a nice lunch selection and the service was friendly and prompt. One small thing, the coffee was warm not hot and some of the food was a bit cold. I told the waiter, he thanked me for the input which I thought was cool. I'd go back to try out they evening menu and check out the nighttime vibe.
Food was really good and so tasty...menu is small but works quite well! Service is top notch and the guy behind the bar making the coffees was super friendly. Awesome interior is really cool and some really good vibes with music etc. Two thumbs up, will definitely be back.
I came here for a late breakfast today. Great service, and a nice quirky environment. I had a breakfast dish that I have no chance of remembering- a green shashbouska- or something like that (see pic). The dish combined a baked egg, Persian feta and braised Brussel sprouts in a relish-like green capsicum sauce. Very tasty but maybe a little too flavoursome. The accompanying olive bread was delicious! I washed this down with one of their amazing teas (something, something, liquorice, peppermint, something, ginger, something). My friend had the reuben sandwich (also pictured) and thought it was great. All reasonably priced, with lots of cheaper options for those who would prefer.
I came with high hopes... and left quite disappointed. No almond milk which I understand isn't as common as soy but this meant I had to order a long black. It was quite a bitter coffee - not un-drinkable, just not smooth and lovely like I'd expect. The barista was very chirpy and friendly but the other staff member seemed quite blunt and came off a little rude.
I loved the interior and think it's a fantastic addition to the Maylands scene but I've had better coffees elsewhere. Having said that, I would return as I really liked the vibe of the place.
I live only a few blocks away and was desperate for a good coffee to carry me through my exam study. My craving lead me to Eighth Avenue and to Henry on Eighth!

Hurray! A new cafe in Maylands. A great addition to eighth ave which will make it more lively and hopefully bring some of the action from whatley crescent over.
The coffee is good and smooth. The brekkie wrap was half the size of usual brekkie wraps but also half the price. Portion control? But very tasty. The Reuben was stellar! Tasted like the ones in America. Good amount of meat and came out with 2 big pickles on the side.
Came back another time for a weekend coffee, they took our order at the bar and we sat down and waited a long time, only to discover they had forgotten our order. This was quickly rectified by another staff member. Went up to pay and it took a while due to initial teething problems ( I hope!) - there wasn't really a system for customers who were paying and those who were ordering drinks. Seemed there were lots of staff behind the counter but not more than one person taking orders at a time. Would love to see this place succeed so hopefully they get it sorted soon.
Walked past a few times at night and love seeing this place light up the area.
Great decor inside which has kept the original exposed brick walls, there an upstairs area too and it has a lift for wheelchairs and strollers!
Friend took me here for after work drinks last Friday night. Such a fun vibe with live music. Great wine selection, and friendly service. We had the potato skin and mushrooms, fried scallop and the Fattoush salad. So good!
We had my Mum’s 60th Birthday party at our beloved local Henry on 8th. Steve and all the staff went above and beyond to ensure the party was a raging success. The food was AMAZING. Steve created a signature cocktail for the night. We couldn’t have been happier ❤️
Always an enjoyable place to be. The staff are interested in their patrons, and genuinely want to provide a range of options. I've come with a group of friends and soaked up the good feelings. Have come on my own and relaxed in the atmosphere / bumped into friends as you do in the good locals. Great tunes, always something different on offer. Lovely drinks and delicious food. Tuesday nights are fab.
The absolute best local bar. It's run by Maylands locals and really shows what the community is all about. Usually has a great wine list and they are very dog friendly.

What’s not to like. Attentive Owner, friendly Staff and terrific Ambiance for drinks & bites. Went on a Friday night. The live music was fantastic! Johnny Cash stuff. Will be back again!
What a good place Henry on Eighth is!! Looking forward to my next trip to Maylands just so I can go there again. A local's favorite and generous contributor to its communities people (if our mate Janey loved it we love it too)
