Nice little restaurant serving quality food within a beautiful wine region. We ordered pizzas and they were to die for. I had the meatlovers and it was full of flavour. Kids mac n cheese was well enjoyed by our 17 month old. $12 corkage a bit on the expensive side for byo wine. Staff were prompt and always had a smile other meals coming out looked of a decent portion size.
Nice atmopshere.
Got the specials pizza with haloumi and it was nice.
Ordered a chicken caesar salad but arrived with no chicken and 95% lettuce. I think there are better places to go for lunch in McLaren Vale.
Omg this place is fantastic! If you want an amazing pizza GO HERE it's fantastic place to have a home cooked pizza. Great atmosphere and service!
Oscar's was recommended to me by someone I work with who lives in McLaren Vale (I had mentioned I was going to spend a few days in Adelaide and was planning on going to McLaren for a day).Great location, good service and good food.

We went to Oscars to celebrate my brother’s birthday, and absolutely everything about our experience was lovely. We started with a plate of the housemade port, thyme and Cointreau pate, which was served with cornichons, flatbread and a divine apple and pear chutney. Best. Pate. Ever. The flavour was utterly perfect and I would love to be able to buy this in bulk!!! For the main, I went for a pizza (I always think of Oscars as a pizza place) and had zero regrets. The Idaho comes with potato, rocket, sour cream, caramelised onion, bacon and sweet chilli sauce, which makes for one damn fine pizza. The base was lovely and the potato was cooked perfectly. There was plenty of sour cream and sweet chilli sauce, and every mouthful was delicious. If I could have eaten more, I would have. Somehow we were persuaded into dessert and three of us shared the Belgian chocolate mousse – it was far heavier than I would usually expect from a mousse, but despite that wasn’t sickly rich, although my stomach was really struggling for space. A special mention must go to the staff, who were so friendly and welcoming and set the right tone for a truly lovely celebration.
Change of management?. The last few months the quality of the pizzas have dropped quite dramatically. Coincidentally I've noticed two new guys on pizzas the last couple visits, both clearly couldn't care less. Shame a couple bad eggs bringing the reputation of a small local business down.
Great Selection of Pizza. Went to Oscars last night with friends that live in the Vale. Was a bit apprehensive after reading reviews on here, because I am so fussy with my food. We all ordered pizza, I had the smoked salmon number, Atlantis I think it was called. It looked great and tasted very nice. The salmon was possibly a tad dried out here and there (if I'm completely honest) but not enough to take away from the taste overall. Our pizzas arrived together, everyone liked their's and service was prompt with drinks. It was quite busy, but not packed to capacity. I left, feeling full and happy with the meal.
Great service and atmosphere. Had the pizza supreme. Fantastic. Wife had the prawn pasta. Perfect.
Prompt Service. Clean Bathroom. Warm fire. Reservations required as they are busy!
Gourmet takeaway pizzas and nice place to dine for couples.
Delicious pizzas, and relaxing dining experience.. Will definitely go back to try another flavor pizza
A busy bistro that caters for everyone. The feel is casual, and the staff are friendly, and the food is always great. In an old house surrounded by gardens, right in the centre of McLaren Vale.
Our first restaurant landing in Adelaide and was quite pleased!
We ordered a couple of things from the menu: pate, bacon and spring onion flat bread, chorizo penne, seafood brochette, special pizza and banana caramel pie.
Seafood brochette, pate & banana caramel pie were our stand outs (especially the seafood brochette it was amazing!!!). Other foods were quite average.
Service was amazing!! We ordered some drinks and our waiter went above and beyond to meet our expectations. They even ran across the road to purchase an alcohol bottle to make our drinks.
Was a great experience and would recommend to friends! Thank you for the hospitality 💖
What a lovely little place, staff were very friendly and always made sure we had everything we needed whilst dining there. The food is decently priced for the area and presented nicely upon serving, highly recommend their arancini balls for starters and their flat garlic and cheese bread. I'd say the only let down was the risotto was very oily, some may like it like that and the seasonal vegetables with the grain fed steak was simply broccolini and that was it, cooked beautifully mind you as well as the steak.
They also have a nice array of different gins to try which was nice as not many offer anything more than just ordinary gin and tonic and the cocktails looked great but didn't get to try them. The desserts were very tasty and again a nice selection to choose from. We went with the warm chocolate cake with ice cream and were very pleased, it was a great end to our meal.
Over all it was a lovely dining experience and will definitely be going again as there is plenty of menu to choose from, kiln pizzas, pasta, salads and more. Highly recommend if you're in the area or looking for something different then the usual pub meal.
Awesome set up outside around wine leaves and trees and flowers...a happy atmosphere...it was busy as always and since we didn't book,we had dessert only which was really tasty and nicely presented staff were really friendly and apologetic as waiting time would be too long as we didn't book earlier.....
Oscars is my number one favourite restaurant.
Have not had one bad experience and have been here for dinner probably about 20 times. On top of that ordered takeaway heaps. The food is so yummy and the service is sensational. Ten out of ten every time!
The food was tasty but it did take a while to get service. It was cold as well and very busy. This made it very noisy. The staff work hard to please. Enjoyed the chicken breast and a very big serving lots of yummy veggies too.
I've posted several reviews now about Oscars & every time we go it just gets better & better!
Earlier in the week I'd rung to reserve a table for 2 & when we got there the reservation had mistakenly not been logged. Regardless of being fully booked the waitress still found & accommodated us with a cosy table by the fire in the enclosed pergola & had our drinks & meals to us quick sticks!
As always an inviting warm relaxed & comfortable atmosphere, fantastic friendly service coupled with a menu & tasty food thats just as amazing!
Love it every time!
