The best pizza I have had, excellent atmosphere, great staff, highly recommended
PROS
wonderfully unique and varied selection of both pizzas and pastas. Coming from a strong italian heritage, I'm often wary of ordering pasta because I'm so fussy about it. Luckily there were so many fish and vegetable options that I couldn't help myself. The creamy salmon and zucchini made with fresh casarecce pasta was exactly what I wanted. Slight undercooking on the pasta itself but possibly my personal preference. Wine list good, some very interesting pizzas with toppings about and a lovely traditional dough. An extra pro is the noted suggestions for additional complimentary items to certain pizzas. Service friendly and professional, just lovely. And the venue itself was comfortable, spacious and yet intimate all at once. Plate of house made bread, olives and hummus was appreciated before a lovely meal. A sure thing for a great meal.
CONS
I'd like to see some more vegetable based and traditional entrees, even if just a specials board, something to share as a table, not an entree for one. I was feeling for something like crumbed artichokes or eggplant but nothing stood out.
FYI
Located on little collins, near fleming place
Authentic Italian home made but well presented food. The staff are friendly and attentive. A slightly hidden gem being on Little Collins St but well worth trying.
Best pizza I ever had! An authentic italien restaurant with very good and high quality priducts. Very friendly and motivated service.
Beautiful fresh pasta, wood fired pizza with a thin base, makes this a great restaurant in CBD. Service is attentive and fast and prices are very reasonable. We found this restaurant by chance on our visit to Melbourne and will come back next time.
Came here for a xmas party with over 70 and we had blast. Marco was a pleasure to work with when planning out the event. He was accommodating to all dietary requirements and everyone left merry and full. The food was tasty and authentic and the staff were great. Highly recommend š

Came here on a TheFork booking and got 50% off food. The pizza had a nice crunch and was quite authentic (said our companion who has just returned from Italy so thatās saying something). The handmade beef ravioli had great texture from the fresh pasta. Was a bit disappointed by the seafood pasta which has cut up small bit of seafood in it as opposed to larger pieces which you can eat and taste. The meal was pretty good on TheFork booking.
The food was delicious, the server was lovely, and the atmosphere was great! Donāt miss out on the chance to experience Da Guido 365! Will definitely return!
Had dinner there last night.
Very friendly staff and great food in general.
Ordered a pizza diavola and received a free appetiser on arrival.
Owner and manager both Italian very friendly and kind.
Definitely worth a try.
First impression is immediately the warm and cozy atmosphere, which is very welcome any time but especially on a chill Melbourne evening. Friendly staff always make sure you are looked after and that your experience is pleasant. Tables are well spaced so you're never feeling cramped.
Now, the most important part - the actual food. Here is something very special. We stopped on the way to a gig for some pizzas and dessert. From the first bite you get a burst of fresh ingredients. The flavours are delicious, and the portions well sized.
From start to finish you can feel care and consideration of details, it was a spontaneous decision to try it out but we'll definitely be back
Came back for a second dinner visit after enjoying our first dining experience so much. Pleased to say it was just as good the second time! We had a half price dining deal on the food, so we splurged by having a few rounds of drinks (nice wines and good sized pours). Even at full pricing, the prices are not unreasonable. So far all of the dishes weāve selected have been very good. When we asked a question about one of the dishes the chef himself came out to explain it to us - what service!! Good job. I think I will start coming here during work for their lunch meals also...
We have to admit it was a thoroughly enjoyable Italian feast. From the quality produce to the near perfect execution, Da Guidoās newest venture pays homage to its traditional Venetian heritage.
Da Guido 365 is the business' second location in Melbourne, but third overall. Originating in Venice, Italy, the origins of this Italian restaurant brand are undoubtedly traditional and authentic. After moving from Italy to Melbourne and opening up his subsequent restaurants, the owner has successfully incorporated a modern Melbourne ambience with culturally significant food and wine. The interior of the city's Da Guido 365 is light-filled and modern, though its decor lacks a bit of the traditional Italian feel that one may expect from dining in an Italian restaurant.
The staff are friendly, and Italian. Which adds to the authenticity of the restaurant. The menu is succinct, but clearly focuses on house made pasta and pizza, with a selection of entrees (antipasti) and sides to accompany the main menu items.
Fagottini all'Ortolana are pyramid-shaped pasta filled with vegetables served with smoked ricotta, and sitting within a richly decadent tomato sauce. Al dente cooked pasta form the perfect parcel in which to hold the cooked vegetables, whilst the intense flavours of the sauce produce a layered rusticity that keeps you coming back for more.
A wide variety of pizzas are offered, including classic, specialty and gourmet styles. The Da Guido pizza is topped with buffalo mozzarella, porcini mushroom, bacon guanciale and truffle cream. A delight to eat, the only thing that exceeds the perfectly balanced earthiness of the mushroom and truffle combination is the light and fluffy (yet with the right amount of crisp) pizza dough, which is one of the better ones I have tasted in Melbourne.
The tiramisu is creatively served with the espresso served on the side, designed for the customer to pour the espresso over the tiramisu themselves, witnessing first-hand the soaking of the sponge and waterfall of the espresso as it penetrates each layer of this Italian pick-me-up. Strong flavours of chocolate and coffee are the stars of this dessert.
I would recommend dining at Da Guido 365 for their deliciously faultless food and wine, giving the city another Italian gem to hold onto.
Why would you go to Italy for food when the Italian food scene gets better and better in Melbourne every year?
We started off with 2 pastas, the frutti Di mare and the salmon and zucchini caserecce.
Both absolutely faultless, al dente pasta, perfectly balanced sauces and seasoning and freshest of ingredients. I must mention all the pasta here is freshly made, quite often in front of your face as you walk in.
Next we opted for a scallop and porcini mushroom pizza, the base was an asparagus purƩe, and despite some concerns it really worked with the ingredients, the base being light airy and with great char on the sides.
I have had 3 favourite Italian places in the last 2 years as they keep bettering the last ones but I have to say, Da Guido was without fault today and just a magical dining experience.
If you want to go to a place where its Nonna cooking then go here. Nonna is in the kitchen and it shows in the pasta. The pasta sheets were perfection along with a really good pizza. Really good service! Can't wait to try Lygon street and even Venice next. ***Disclaimer: although the restaurant has generously invited me to their restaurant this review is still based on my genuine opinion.
We enjoyed our lunch at Da Guido 365 on a busy Friday lunch time. Our fusilli bolognese was fresh and delicious. The homemade bread and accompanying olives and tomatoes were also a nice touch. The service we received was friendly and attentive. This is a great place for a work lunch as the restaurant does not get too noisy.
Forget the air ticket to Italy. I am sick of the over complicated modern vegan small multi course bite size tasting portions served in so many Melbourne restaurants. Da Guido 365 reminds me of what real food really is all about, more importantly, food that you can eat every day. Coming here is like coming home to Nonnaās. Rustic true blue Italian soul food cooked with passion and love. A true contender for Melbourneās next best pizza. Order the Da Guido pizza with mozzarella, guanciale, and black truffle paste; melt in your mouth gnocchi with Gorgonzola n walnuts; perfectly cooked Black Angus fillet steak; and Tiramisu to die for. All washed down with a good bottle (or two) of Chianti. Close your eyes and you will be transported to Italy. Service is top notch and we feel so āat homeā as our every needs were attended to. This is a place we can dine at every day and still look forward coming back. Gracias Da Guido!
PROS
- Great service
- Cosy restaurant atmosphere with good location
- Good food (recommend the salads, pizzas & lemon tart)
CONS
- Found portions bit small if paying full price
- Wagyu ravioli was so so. Definitely preferred the pizza we ordered
Will be back!
Summary: We couldnāt fault the food here tonight and wine list had a good range of Italian wines to keep interest up. The Aperol Spritz was one of the better we have had and our favourite dish of the night was the Gorgonzola gnocchi.
Da Guido is one Italian restaurant steeped in history, spanning 40 years including Venice, Lygon Ā St and now the addition in Little Collins St. A welcome interior and friendly Italian accented staff greeted us and sat us at our table. We were lucky to start our meal with a couple of authentic Italian staples, the perfect Aperol spritz and a Menabrea beer.
We snacked on some deliciously salty black olives, super sweet semi dried tomatoes and homemade bread. This antipasto taster was a lovely way to get our taste buds humming.
For entree we shared the calamari, this dish was genuine and rustic, we loved the flavours and the fact it wasnāt crumbed and deep fried.
For mains we indulged in the gnocchi, these house made parcels of potato where exquisite. The texture was perfection and the Gorgonzola was smack in your face flavoursome. The combination could only be described as perfected by a Nonna, it simply does not get better than this.
Tonight we chose the diavola pizza, the 48 hour dough was delicious, a bubbly crust surrounded the uber thin pizza base. The delightfully spicy salami and nāduja complemented the tomato and cheese and provided a lovely level of heat, also enhanced by chilli oil.
For dessert we ordered the lemon tart with meringue and the tirimasu. The lemon tart arrived with a crumpled meringue topping. Ā The lemon tart had a sweet lemoncello taste to it which went very well with the crunchy meringue crumble and the light pastry. Ā The tiramisu arrived with a shot of hot coffee on the side. The trick was to pour the coffee and to be able to wait a minute for the heat to melt the chocolate chunks and the coffee to seep in before devouring. This was a warm delicious twist on a classic tiramisu.
Thanks so much for inviting us in.
We were invited to Da Guido last night a restaurant with some impressive heritage having existed in Venice for some forty years and then several years in Melbourneās famed strip of Italian cuisine, Lygon st. This collins st location is a few months young and brings with it some seriously delicious pizza.
The scampi pizza we ordered was definitely one of the yummiest and most memorable Iāve ever had. A unique combination of flavours and ingredients made it something truly special. We also had a caprese salad and a wagyu ravioli. You could taste the quality and freshness in the caprese and the pasta had a subtle and delicate butter and rosemary sauce which is something a bit different from the typical Napoli. These flavours were a bit understated for me but fresh parmasen helped the cause.
We still managed to fit in dessert and had a zingy little sliver of a lemon tart and a yummy Nutella calzone. There was just the right amount of filling inside to not be overpowering. All of the dishes were presented well and I appreciate that this is somewhere you can go for real traditional and authentic dishes. Itās certainly cheaper than flying to Venice!
Da Guido is a simple yet elegant Italian restaurant that serves up some of the best pasta I've had in Melbourne. Their Italian chefs specialize in flavours of the Venetian region with delicious freshly made pizzas and pastas. Would highly recommend!. Complimentary Starter. Sparkling Water $5. A much fancier option than tap water!Ā ā

Took a largish group here and they were very accommodating. Service was lovely, the food (we got several pizzas to share) was excellent and at a very good price point. We were very impressed by the quality of the wine! The atmosphere is open and clean, not too loud but also it doesnāt feel quiet and dull either. Would return for future get-togethers.

An absolute gem in the heart of the CBD. Conveniently located close to public transport, this pizzeria offers a thin menu of superb pizzas. The crust is halfway between a classic neapolitan and a crusty ānorthern italianā. Ingredients are premium and present in generous amounts.
Wait staff is great and prices are, honestly, quite cheap.
There is a nice selection of beers, including the ābaraccaā, a craft beer dedicated to the famous aviator Francesco Baracca.
The location is nice and neat, ideal for a nice meal.
Brand new management here, and true authentic Italian cooking... Ordered SAN Daniele Pizza with salami and olives; what I received was amazing!!! Beautiful base - nice and thin, lovely toppings with Heirloom Tomatoās as garnish...
Will definitely be going back to try the pasta - if it is anything like the Pizza, this place is in the league of Lygon St and Hardware Lane!!! ššš
My favourite favourite favourite pizza restaurant! I've dined here many times now and always leave happy and satisfied. The pizzas are so full of flavour and there are so many delicious options on the menu. The bases are thin and crispy and not doughy like many other pizza restaurants. My go-to pizzas would have to be 'Da Guido' (for the mushroom lovers) and 'Scampi di Mare' (for the seafood lovers). Oh and the service is impeccable, staff are so friendly and attentive. I cannot recommend this place enough!!
Had the best night ever! The stuff was so lovely, the food was OVER THE MOON. I took my Italian friend and he got so emotional of how much da Guido reminded him of home. Highly recommended, such a little jam on little Collins!
Absolutely incredible food with great service. Everything we had was extremely yummy, full of flavour and beautifully cooked & presented. The carbonara and gnocchi were especially good and the pizza was fabulous also! Highly recommend!
We have had takeaway from Da Guido 365 twice in a row now and the food is consistent, delicious and the pasta is al dente. I strongly recommend the Bolognese.

Love the food. Keep up the great work Da Guido team.
Best pizza Iāve ever had in Australia! It brought my tastebuds back to Venice! Amazing service ! The pizza was authentic beautiful, fresh, Light, thin and crispy. I ordered the Parmigiana. Pasta was also very good parpadelle mushroom and sausage. Affordable prices too! Probably the cheapest u can get for the quality.
Fantastic Italian food in the heart of Melbourne. Pasta was perfectly cooked, amazing sauce and the garlic bread is actually a fantastic mini garlic pizza! Staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
I like the pizza, it was a wonderful experience. High quality Italian taste. Friendly stuff and great hospitality definitely i will be back again.
Great little place near my hotel. Pizza was decent with the gluten free crust and good selection of antipasto. Only thing missing was dessert.
