Most creamiest coffee I've ever had in Melbourne (and in the world so far!). It tasted almost too smooth for my liking but it was definitely a pleasant surprise! Never knew coffee could be THAT smooth and silky. Phenomenal coffee experience highlighting what to expect from Melbourne coffee scene
Staff are friendly, the coffee is good but it has this stronger taste relatively to the other coffee stores. It has two different brews you can choose from, I chose Guatemala one and it tastes nicer than their home brew one in my personal opinion. Overall I will recommend this shop to all the coffee lovers out there.
A busy place with nice coffee. The taste is quite different from most others and has rich flavour and minor acidity
It was my firstcafe in Meibourne.
I think this coffee shop better than starbucks.
We love, love, loved Patricia. The coffees were fantastic and the absence of attitude was lovely. As you walk up, you'll likely see a line of people along the alley drinking or waiting for their coffee. Then another line into Patricia. With all of that, I expected that there might be some attitude. Couldn't have been more wrong. Everyone was lovely and were happy to give us recommendations (which we loved). Can't wait to go back!
Really good and strong coffee. Just wish they could serve in a bigger cup
Without a doubt, the best coffee in Melbourne
Defo an amazing coffee bar!!
A pleasant arvo - recharged with quality fruity coffee, non-stop chit chats and laughing👯♀️ Thank you for the great vibe and coffee, plus the exceptionally friendly and welcoming service☺️.
The place is very photogenic as well!
One of the best coffee shops in the CBD
First time coming here and saw a long queue to order coffee. I was surprised with how busy they are. There is no seat in the cafe but you are welcome to sit along the alley. Coffee was made in perfection which is why they are so famous.
I came by to buy some beans for a friend. I wasn't sure if I was at the right place since there wasn't a big sign but there was a line and a small table outside with some beans. After lining up your order and then wait for it. They offer water while waiting. They also have pastries if you were a bit peckish. The place is quite small and fairly busy.
One of the most aromatic, smoothest cups of coffee I have had in Melbourne. No wonder this place is highly recommended for coffee addicts!
"THE" coffee place for any genuine coffee lover in melbourne. Their patricia blend is out-par. But beware no fancy stuff just true coffee. A small but cosy place and good small things to accompany your coffee as well.
Petite place, nice staff, fancy crowd
Will pass by next time!
I think I have tasted the best coffee in Melbourne! I had a hard time searching for the exact place because it is somewhere hidden. You will just realize how famous this coffee place because the place was narrow and hidden and yet alot of people can patiently wait for their coffee. The coffee here doesn’t taste so bitter! I really liked my first to last sip of coffee which made me order coffee beans to take home with. I love their houseblend! And i am looking forward to taste their different kinds of coffee on my next visit. I would also like mention their chocolate cake that I ordered. That was the best chocolate cake i have ever tasted. You guys go and visit Patricia, you will surely wouldn’t regret; and the staff are friendly to their customers too. I felt at home when I went here. Highly recommended!
Super busy place, great vibe, the coffee were good, rarely see a pour over bar at such busy place, and the speed were pretty decent, had a very interested experience.
Patricia's coffee there is literally a queue out the door and this is all the time. People are willing to wait in line for a coffee. The coffee was really worth the wait it was just a perfect coffee. The service was also great! Offered water while you wait and it really isn't too much of a long wait.
I’ve been coming back to Patricia every month for their coffee beans. We’ve tried coffee beans all around Melbourne now but nothing beats Patricia!
The other day while I was purchasing coffee beans, we were also offered a free coffee to taste the beans, despite not ordering one. It was the first time this has happened to me and I was very pleased with the friendly service.
I can’t recommend it enough!
My favourite go-to coffee in Melbourne! Consistently good coffee, and friendly service even with the long queues. On my last visit they patiently helped me figure out what coffee beans to buy for an overseas friend, explaining the taste notes and the grind, etc. Hope I could catch this place on an off hour so I could linger longer and enjoy my coffee!
Hard to describe this place! It has a certain magic to it. The coffee is always on point, that cannot honestly be said of most of the coffeehouses/cafes I’ve frequented. The service is always incredibly fast and attentive, could this be Melbourne’s perfect coffee destination? Very possibly
Now i just realized
why we should go this place
I visted twice
First, take away
Sec, have there
For the first time i ordered as take away
As u know ,super busy, and first moment i sipped it
It just a usual deep, well balanced falvour of coffee
Nothing special
I may expected too much of em..which end up underwhelming like always do
I might was just like a nerd back then
'Uh..this place is easily one of the top 3 cafe in melbourne i should go there(drooling...)'
But a second time of experience in here
Was so amazing...
Short and powerful presantation from one of A crews about single origin coffee
And it taste was literally exceptional..
Actually devoured it within a min
And they asked me if i'd wanna have
A Filtered coffee
I said yes, Without hesitation
They r truely
Well trained and Skilled baristas in every way
Kind, Capable
Especially they know exact point
what customers really want to experience it
Thank y'all guys your every single drop of a passion for the coffee
See u later,
Rated as one of the best coffee shops in Melbourne. This is definitely a must try but then totally would depend on your taste and liking. Some people love it, others not so much but for me I dont mind. You wont get all fancy options/ types in coffee. They serve the basic latte, long black and espresso, which keeps it nice and simple.
Small shop tucked in corner is always busy.
Personally, best coffee in Melb. The only sad thing is that it has gone tooo busy. It used to be more quiet so you could sit outside of the cafe and enjoy the sun.
If you're a coffee lover, I mean real coffee lover. This place will never disappointed you. I love the way they serve coffee, just white, black and filter. No no complicated order allowed here. And yeah, that's coffee suppose to taste like. And their pastries is taste good as well. Give em a try.
This place is fully packed. The staff is really nice to tell me the differences in their coffee beans. The croissant tastes good as well, might appreciate it more if it's warm. Nonetheless, I am super excited to try their other coffee beans.
It’s really hard to find this place. But all effort is worthy. Frindely staffs and cozy atmosphere . Great coffe. Unique experience . And you will be served with a cup of sparkling water before you got ur coffe which is really helpful for u to taste the coffe. By the way.the sparking water served is as good as the sparkling water I drinker in Hobart
A small cafe that was quite popular. Had a Single shot white coffee. Very smoothe, aromatic and velvelty for someone who is usually a sweet drinker .
Some bakes available and chill vibes
Like many others, I thoroughly enjoyed the coffee at Patricia’s. The house blend is smooth and a double shot comes standard - perfect. There’s standing room only which feels a bit awkward at the start. Be prepared to line up for your coffee - this place gets BUSY.
Cant fault this place. My friend regular this joint. Amazing coffee and people! How i wish they were opened on weekends too cos we just cant get enough!
A very busy coffee shop: small space full of people and nice coffee. Quick service with nice staff. Can have here and take away. Had flat white made from house blend coffee beans and was pretty good coffee. Will come back to try out other coffee beans for sure.
Came here with a friend at around 3:30PM but it was still really packed - amazed at the business man!
Strongest coffee I’ve had in Melbourne so far, taste was extremely unique. I could really taste the blend and it was nice. Loved the little table setup they had in front, the colours and everything turned out really nice.
Love the coffee and vibe here. It’s always bustling with people and the staff are always friendly. Have to make my obligatory visit whenever I’m close by.

We went at around 9am and it was really packed. It is really good coffee but honestly I don't know if I could deal with that each time for a coffee. There were heaps of people inside standing, drinking and waiting for drinks. The service was still good becaused they also offered water to people waiting for the coffee. They also had milk crates and stuff outside so a lot of people were outside enjoying their coffee too.
Best coffee here! The menu is really simple, black white filter. They make your own style coffee for you. Staff here is really nice and talk to ppl just like close friends.
Slightly ashamed that I took this long to grab a Patricia coffee! Long queues aside, my flat white was perfectly made. There's not a lot of 'body' to the coffee in my opinion, but it's still pretty good.
Melbourne Gin Company have teamed up with Melbourne’s beloved coffee haunt Patricia’s for a G&T Pop-Up Bar. Running every Friday until the end of February, city coffee spot Patricia will transform into a gin bar including Capi, StrangeLove, and Fever-Treee tonics. Expect to taste their new gin Single Shot, alongside a rotating menu of gin & tonics
All up all out great coffee. A trendy alleyway vibe that delivers on coffee and sweet treats .. read full review at https://www.coffeefourdad.com/coffeefourdad/patricias-melbourne-cbd
😱Lizzie’s first impression: this would have to be the most popular cafe I’ve been to - never have I come here without seeing a line to the front of the door.
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I’m not an avid coffee drinker so I go for the sweets and they’re delicious. They sell a lot of pastries and cakes that are unique - I’ve tried their cronuts and the croissants.
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: too bad I’m not a coffee drinker or else I’d be able to rate their actual coffee!
🥇Lizzie rates overall: a great cafe with a cute set up - very popular for obvious reasons.
Patricia offers tbs Best coffee best service in town . Ultimate fav melbourne cafe no doubt!!!!
Amazing speed and service all happening every single time!
i really like the vibe of this little cafe, with people standing around the alley and enjoying their coffee. there was a line but service was fast. really friendly team. we really liked our lattes. will defo recommend!
The staff were very friendly and helpful when describing the coffee options. They offered sparkling water which was a plus. The coffee was delish!
Walking to my usual cafe I decided to try somewhere new and saw a 4.8/5. I thought there is no way a hole in the wall place down a small alleyway that only does coffee is that good. Well I can tell you the hype is real, very smooth coffee, people working there who actually know what they are talking about instead of part-time uni students. Well worth the detour and bookmarked for my future caffeine hit.
We went there about 10AM, there was a long queue of people trying to get their morning coffee fix. And the coffee and staffs was awesome!! 👍🏻
Coffee in central CBD lives up to the hype.
Patricia offers a great concept of rotating roasters of Melbourne and ensuring they're brewed to the best possible standard.
Recommend getting takeaway due to no seating. They do have some standing benches provided they're not all taken.
Looking for some of Melbourne’s best coffee this week? Head over to Patricia’s on Little Bourke St, this place personifies Melbourne’s love of coffee and laneways. It also has some d’lish sweets and savouries to chaperone the experience. My favourite being the hazelnut and chocolate cake and my very own claim to fame “Sydney Opera House” The service is 5/5! You can’t go wrong here.
Love this little coffee spot! Great spot to grab your morning or afternoon cup of coffee. The coffee is smooth and the staff are super friendly.
The standout here was actually the service. Despite being one of the busiest coffee shops I have ever been into, the staff greeted me on arrival, immediately took my order and offered me water whilst I waited. No long after, the barista was calling out my name with a hot take away coffee in hand. Each person received the individual attention they deserved. Well done!
Not really any seating, other than outside in the gutter. There was literally 30 people standing around in a back alley drive way sipping coffee from the kerbside. I guess that adds to the scene. None the less, the waitress was out there chatting with people and collecting dine in coffee cups.
The coffee was good. Strong. Hot.
Worth checking out.

Great coffee, limited space so you have to stand around. They don’t heat up their pastries and I wish they could, but the ham and cheese croissant I had was delicious (even when it was cold). As I work nearby, the consistent quality of coffee is something that the people in Patricia’s should take pride in. Keep it up!
I’d be lying if I say I don’t join hypes but truly, Patricia’s is really worth the hype.
Hidden in a small alley, with no sign and no explanation needed, is a coffee shop that has a line stretching and for good reason!
When I went, they ran out of chocolate powder so I couldn’t order my go-to which is a Mocha :( However, I opted for my second go-to which is a skinny latte! I chose the house brew (which has a more caramel flavour that is left on your tongue) and can I just say.... it was phenomenal.
The coffee left me wondering how could coffee taste this good?? I usually drink my coffee with no sugar so when I had my first sip was abit.. wary but after the second sip... I was hooked! It was so good!
The interior is kinda crammed so I wouldn’t say it’s an amazing place for hang outs or catch ups but if you’re looking for an AMAZING cup of coffee, Patricia’s is your answer!
Great coffee! Great vibe coffee shop I would have missed it if it wasnt for all the people buzzing around the busy little shop. There was a queue but they were super fast anyway and I had my coffee within about 5 minutes delicious 😋
Hands down the best and purest filter coffee I’ve ever tasted. Moreover, the ambiance and location was extremely cozy. It gave you a great vibe and the culture of Patricia seems effortlessly warm and welcoming.
Highly recommended!
THE Best Coffee in Melbourne..I’ve visited Patricia multiple times over the last 18 months and each cup has been consistent over its rich, creamy and smooth white coffee cup that you would expect.!! Friendly staff and excellent customer service. Great ambiance in the morning and a great way to start the day..
There always a looooooooong queue at this tiny coffee shop. The shop just focus on in-house roasted coffee and some simple but yum bakery. We actually got up early in the morning tried to avoid the queue, but anyway, just like I mentioned there always a queue. But the staff were really nice and friendly.
The coffee actually is nice. Actually there r two choice for coffee, single origin or house blend. I went with house blend and my long black turned out to be well balanced. My friend said her flat white also worth a try. So happy coffee, happy mood.
For a small cafe, they do a roaring trade. It seemed like no matter the time of day, there was a massive queue out the door.
I patiently joined the queue in the afternoon just before closing time and saw they only offered three types of coffee. White, black, and filter which made deciding easy as well as preparation simple too. There is also a choice of iced versions of them too. On offer today was the Patricia Blend (a mix of south and central american beans) or Wood & Co Tabe which was an Ethiopian blend. Went with the Patricia Blend White Coffee as accidentally tried to order a Mocha before the server kindly pointed out the three hot coffees available. He said the house blend was more chocolately in its overtones. Service was really friendly despite the queues.
They serve a glass of sparkling water with your coffee which is a lovely touch. Really enjoyed my coffee to end my day. It was one of my favs I had that day.
Woo hoo. I've wanted to come here for too long. The cues out the door and in the laneway that I've seen too many times had me excited.
As you walk past this laneway you can't miss this cafe just off Bourke St, because it's sooo busy! And people are always standing and chatting and enjoying their coffee.
With double shots as standard this is my kind of cafe. Impeccable service w a smile.
You can read the broadsheet whilst standing up which is handy.
I'm not sure if it was the music, the milk or the coffee but I was in coffee heaven. This is my new fav cafe in Melb! Can I give this a higher rating than 5/5?? hahaha
Oh and when I left I asked about weekend trading, the lovely girl who initially served me said no Tim, just Monday to Friday and the hours are ... That was attention to detail, and it’s with that kind of service that sets the bar so high. Personal service!
This place is a must visit! This is what Melbourne is all about, coffee perfection w exceptional customer service.
The coffee is so good that the shop is still busy at 3pm-ish. I like the white coffee with Patricia coffee blend. It is just perfect in bitterness, temperature, and texture
Popular hole-in-the-wall-hard-to-find cafe, Patricia offers in-house roasted coffee in a classic Italian-style stand-up environment.
Phew, I hope that made sense.
Or you could do the Melbourne thing and just sit outside on the pavement soaking the sunshine with your brew.
My strong skinny latte is well rounded, and has just the right strength and bitterness.
There are a lot of tempting cakes and pastries on display next to the counter as well.
Friendly and open team, it's not hard to see why they get a lot of regulars.
Coffee as good as it gets.
No more need be said but I’ll add some icing: the soda water is refreshing and the tattooed baristas and their leather aprons (yes, really) cannot be taken seriously. It’s the pinnacle of coffee and yet, you can’t help being amused by the parody-esque elements of the place.
This place is worth seeking out. It's standing room only and is always packed, but the service is quick so the wait isn't long. The coffee is one of the best in my opinion - I always go for the house blend coffee. They also sell a range of pastries and donuts and they taste amazing.
If you're in the area then be sure to check this place out!
Wow this place is small but boy it is busy. This is the place for all coffee snobs out there. They only serve coffees and some pastries, cookies. I got a TA Soy FW, i was also given a small glass of sparkling water to clean your palate. Decent price for coffee too. Thumbs up.
Undoubtedly one of the best coffee in Melbourne. Their house-blend is amazing, and the guest coffee is equally good, each time!
Just a note for Cap/Latte lovers, they have a simple menu, so you either get a white, or a black coffee.
☕️☕️☕️Best coffee ever and friendly staff, I always get a cup on my way to school and it makes my day , and there is always good vibe to have my coffee there and relax.☕️☕️☕️
Woke up a little bit early to have coffee dating with love one before work.. Basically no seating & just standing.. and you can see some people sitting on the milk crates outside to enjoy the coffee.. we ordered ham & cheese croissant but not good enough.. coffee is amazing.. good vibes.. will come back!
Patricia has the best vibe for a cafe with no seating. The service was great and friendly. One of the barrista even took a chance to approach me when she saw I me looking at their beans collection. The latte was okay to me. But you should try their espresso! It was so delicious!
Their beans packaging to go is also very pretty and good for souvenirs. I took the beans in the pink containers and the beans has a great nutty finish that lingers in your mouth for a while. Definitely will come back for the espresso!
Was looking for a morning coffee and found this gem. Fantastic coffee, bit of a line but well worth the wait. If you are in the cbd make sure you check this place out.
The best coffee in Melbourne in my opinion! The service is impeccable and the way they do things is a well-oiled machine.
Their coffee selection is basic, just the essentials. But they only serve and make coffee the authentic way. Keep it simple and taste the flavour.
They have a selection of sweet treats too if you need a snack.
The fit-out and ambience also adds to the wonderful experience. And you’ll get a glass of sparkling water while you wait.
Coffee : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I ordered a latte - Good flavour ☕️
Price : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good for a great coffee
Service : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very good service / Friendly staff. They help you to choose if you are novice
Ambience : ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pretty small shop but good atmosphere
The best coffee I’ve had! The creamy taste of the espresso plus the rich froth becomes an excellent white coffee! Enjoyed the friendly service of the staff as well☺️ I’m definitely coming again soon!
No matter how long the line is the wait is never to long. There system is top notch! The staff are lovely to they really make an effort to remember names and orders
Very cozy place with good coffee in the inner city. Good concept for this area. Not a place for sit and chill, but a nice place for quick coffee and conversation before work. Good service. Staff is very friendly, though they are very busy. Loved their filter coffee, but haven’t got a chance to try biscuits yet. Surely will back for next time.
Tucked away in a tiny alleyway but offers superb coffee for a morning newspaper read. Too bad this coffee place is not open during weekends, but has become my morning coffee routine.
I ordered the white with brazilian beans & soy milk andddd it is da bomb! I like it 😍😍😍 definitely will come back again. I also tried the chocky olive cake and it’s delish too, though it could be filled with more chocky 😊😊😊
You know a good coffee from your first sip. And this was exactly that. Staff are friendly and the place has enough place outside to just have chat with mates.
It was a chilly afternoon when we came for a cup of coffee, the place was rather crowded, partly because the space was initially small. We queued for like 20-30 mins, but the coffee was worth it. I loved how it was very fragrant, and not too acidic. But i could feel the coffee was strong. I ordered my usual cappucino with sprinkled cocoa powder. It was remarkable, def will come back on my next visit to Melbourne.
One of Melbourne’s best and my personal favourite. Compact space, mostly standing room, or if you want you can hang around the outside like most people during coffee rush hour. The coffee is of consistent and excellent quality. I’ve been coming here for years.
Great coffee, tasty roast and the milk was well frothed. Not quite sure what the hype is about though. The line was very long in the morning but all things considered, my coffee was ready fairly quickly.
Such a small but stylish cafe. The coffee tastes so good. Will definitely go back again. I also bought some coffee beans. Hope it will be good
Small coffee shop, just like a little room tuck away in the alley of little williams, but Patricia really knows her stuff.
I could smell the aroma from the entrance, and to see a lot of people Q-ing in the front door, increase my curiosity to get myself their little cuppa.
How good is it? People don't even bother to get a coffee from cafe that has plenty of seats. They holding their cup outdoor - in the cold winter day, no seats, and just enjoy the caffeine, I thought to myself, man.. this must be a really good coffee.
Patricia's were really passionate and particular about their coffee. They asked the temp of the coffee, to the type of beans customers wanted.
Made an order and waited outside to be served, and
I got my latte not long after that.
Wow! The smell was very aromatic, strong but not bitter and had a good consistency. Just beautiful!
I really got what I expected, a good quality coffee.
Staff were friendly, and the service was pretty quick even though a lot of people Q.
If you are passionate about coffee, you should come to Patricia. And this should be your standard, Melbourne. ☕😍
Love the coffee at Patricia. Always a crowd there, with a queue snaking out the door. Staff are excellent and have the magical touch of being able to deliver the correct coffee order to the right customer.
Even it was close to the end of the day, there were still many people ordering coffee in Patricia. Friendly staff ordering every one water while waiting for the coffee. I had a latte ("Ethiopian"), staff said it is lighter than the "Blend". It was smooth and paired just perfectly with a cookie.
A quick pick me up before I head back to work, the aroma is the first thing that hits you when you walk into this busy little spot. The orders are simple and a lovely lady offers you some sparkling water to reset your palate. Finding a spot next to the windowsill I observe, 8 staff behind the counter. It was like clockwork all to produce that special cuppa.
Initially I didn't think much of this place but the coffee they made me was fantastic. The house blend was smooth and bold which hit all the right notes for me.
Standing room only and extremely busy, you'd see the spillage outside of people enjoying their coffee. This is everything I'd want in a coffee shop!
Came here cuz I heard it’s great, and it certainly lined up to its reputation. Amazing little shop with fabulous ambiance and wonderful staff. I’m not a coffee expert so I won’t be commenting on the single shot short black I ordered. Even though there was quite a crowd, the waiting was short. Next time I’m gonna try their desserts too!
It’s a shame that I leave this comment after been to this lovely hidden cafe for quite a few times. They don’t have big signs, they don’t have luxury decoration, they have but simple and friendly ambient. I had house blend white with one portion sugar every time. The taste is great. The baristas are friendly and waiting is short.
I went against my own word to not have coffee whilst sick for my recovery’s sake but must I say, it was worth it. There’s a few things you need to know about Patty’s: 1) It’s a lil pricey. 2) It’s a lil squished and dine-in really means dine-outside-on-the-edge-of-the-road-or-on-a-crate-your-pick. 3) It’s a lot delicious. Strong, aromatic coffee with friendly service I can now see why this place is rated so highly. I tried their home blend in a latte (mind you, they make it HOT) which was perfectly mellow and pleasing to the tastebuds. They also gave you the choice of Ethiopian which I usually prefer but felt like I had to change it up. I also had a cold brew which was anything but not delightful. I found myself sipping the ice as it melted even for the faintest sign that only 10 minutes ago, was one of the best coffee to ever grace my mouth.
Came here for coffee the other day. Had a take away soy latte without sugar. Love the coffee they make. There was a line outside when I got there, but the line moved fast which was great. Will definitely come back.
I’ve been coming to Patricia’s since it opened back in 2012. And that’s a reflection of how good it is.
The fit out is peak Melbourne. The staff decked out in leather aprons. And there is a rotating blend of exotic coffee blends on the go. Coffee is fantastic.
If you are visiting Melbourne and want to experience classic Melbourne coffee culture. Look no further.
One of the best coffee shops in Melbourne. This hidden small shop is just so amazing with their coffee and service. If only they would open during weekends
This was the first coffee shop I visited in Melbourne and it was so good! even for a coffee idiot like me. I had flat white and i really loved the mild taste which is easier for me to handle.
Had been looking forward to trying out this place for a long time now.. Went with a friend that had been here before and didn't enjoy the coffee... I convinced her to give it another go. Unfortunately for her, she gave the house blend a second chance and it didn't live up to the standard, which I agree with. HOWEVER, Guatemalan blend... now we're talking, much better coffee! Will definitely come back for this café Guatemalteco!
The service was absolutely deft, I had asked for a filter coffee and I had the opportunity to also have a taster of the Colombian bean. Overall the coffee shop is definitely one that is consistent and has a very good service for its customers which is admirable, the person who took my order was patient and explained in simple language the 'body' of the coffee, which displays a great sense of proficiency and love for coffee. Definitely recommended and will be coming back.
Basically the coffee taste good. You can ask for a less sour coffee (ethiopian beans) if you don't really like sour coffee type. Great cafe vibe and very friendly staffs. ☺️
Always love the coffee and experience here!! Probably some of the best in Melbourne, and one I keep coming back to!! I love how such a small space can be so inviting!
Coffee is simply amazing
Very busy all day
Wait staff are fantastic
I love how the staff come outside to serve people
They also explain what’s on the menu
Take home coffee is yummy
Been hearing this coffee shop a lot, but just this morning i popped in for first time and didn’t regret. I’m enjoyed my skinny latte, service was quick, don’t need to wait long for my coffee even though busy morning.
Very good coffee and very consistent everyday. This place is extremely popular during the lunch rush so get in early. If only it was closers to my office!
Best coffee in the cbd hands down. And i don’t say that lightly. Even with its long lines, no seating and awkward location (alleyway near bins), it’s worth every while and dime!

First time ever trying patricia coffe brewers and took away small late. Love their coffee and of course their hidden place. But sadly, no sitting is available at this place
Nice little atmosphere tucked on the corner of Little Bourke street, even on the quiet afternoon you will find a queue for coffees.
Counter staff was nice to ask the choices of coffee blends I could make for my espresso. I tried their house blend and it was smooth and silky. Well extracted without burning the grind. Well done guys.
Contrary to other regular coffee shops, they are serving double shot on small cups, which creates stronger coffee flavour and aroma.
Sometimes, the staff looked overwhelmed with customers waiting for their order, but I must give a thumb up for the young team who can handle the pressure.
Overall, very satisfied to find a decent coffee brewers at the centre of Melbourne CBD.
Tried a latte with Colombian beans here. Tasted a kick and punch of acidity from the coffee aroma. Really light and creamy. I enjoyed it with a cinnamon donut I had from another shop. Heavenly morning break.
Just by seeing that light fixture above, doesn’t it just brighten you up? No matter what mood you are in, a little bit of sunshine can help along the way. And yes, some coffee to lift up a gloomy mood. Their sunshine light fixture is probably iconic of this cafe. It just stands out in their small space. Yep, there are no seats. It’s purely a standing coffee experience. Still, I loved the whole experience, most especially their service here. The baristas were just the friendliest. They assisted us with our coffee choices and even our food ones.
Good cappuccino. The milk is frothed nicely and very smooth. The coffee itself, however was a little acidic for me (I had the house blend), but it was still good.
It was a very busy cafe in the morning, full of business workers. The service was very nice. To compensate for the wait times, they gave us refreshing sparkling water. Really appreciated.

Top quality coffee and service! Ordered a batch brew and have to say it was one of the best ones I've had... service wise the person taking my order took time to have a quick, friendly chat making the whole experience one I'll definitely be back for. Thank you guys!!!
The coffees were really good. A little bit acidic, but still good. The cold drip was very strong and tasted really clean. The cappuccino was good too. Would definitely recommend this place.
Love Patricia Coffee Brewers! The coffee is always on point and they serve very nice filter coffee too. They also have a small selection of pastries which are tasty. The shop is tiny and is always busy, but I always come in and grab a cup of coffee whenever I’m on this side of city.
The hidden gem of Melbourne, because the place is literally hidden 😆 from the main street, it is inside a small lane and you can see people queueing here daily. My place-to-go when I need a perfect doze of caffeine. One of the best (perhaps the best) coffee in Melbourne and it really lives up to that title.
Panda 🐼🐼🐼:
Coffee! (duhh what else? The Patricia blend suits my pallette better)
Cold filter coffee
Croissants
Extremely friendly staffs that will remember your usual order when you walked in, always smile, and offer you drinks.

None!
Came here at least once a week and I will definitely recommend everyone to go to this place.
Definitely the best coffee in cbd melbourne!! The little cafe has a cite decoration with the neon light and it doesnt really has a place to sit, so it’s good for those of you who wants quick take away service. The coffee itself is strong yet has the sweet aftertaste!
One of top coffee shops in Mel. Kinds of colder beans are available. Barista is very professional. Although this outlet is quite small, people are willing to wait for a little cup of coffee there.
Delicious coffee, but so busy I could barely have a complete experience there.
I had to wait in line for 10min + to order, another 3 or 4 min for the coffee and got the hell out there right away - it was so packed!
So apart from the packed restaurant and queue, the coffee was delicious.
Best coffee experience i ever had!
Surprising cold brew in a tin container, served with an ice cube.
it's a great refresh in summer morning! I will definitely visit again and have recommended to friends already.

There is no better coffee in Melbourne than at Patricia's!
Hidden in a little ally way on Little Bourke street, this coffee joint is everything you need to discover in Melbourne. From house blend to filter, every single coffee is made to perfection every single time!
I am a regular at Patricia's and I have never met a coffee lover who has disliked coffee here.
My favourite Melbourne coffee. Great service, soda water on entry and a great vibe of professional people milling around and exchanging banter over coffee. This place achieves exactly what it attempts to and doesn’t try to be anything it’s not.
In a little street off another little street, you'll find a queue of people outside a little door. But the line moves quickly, the people inside are super friendly, and they get through the orders quickly - the time from placing my order to getting my coffee was actually shorter than the lining up!
The coffee here is good, no questions about it! Very happy 😄
Is this place ALWAYS busy or just when i go there?! Love the unofficial outside seating on the road / pavements. Delicious coffee and lovely staff. Thanks!

I honestly cannot believe that I haven’t done a review on this place before. This is the first coffee shop that made me believe in the “latte” again. Blink and you will miss this place. Literally hidden down a side street, this is one of Melbourne’s best kept secrets that only the locals know about. It’s so good, that their business works purely on word-of-mouth. And they don’t even have seats inside. It’s standing room only.
I don’t get into the city often but Patricia always reminds me why I love coffee.
They are so consistently smooth and full of flavour. Staff are genuinely friendly and extremely efficient.
Coffee flavour stays with you to enjoy long after you’ve finished. Thanks guys.
This outlet is very small. And sometimes don't open or close very early. So many choices for coffee beans, and the staff is very nice and patient to explain what the differences of those coffee bean.
Today I had great coffee, felt very welcomed by the hospitality of the staff. They offered my and my friend sparkling water n that's really great! The view and atmosphere was fantastic, too. Very somehow Saigon atmosphere which I love it so much.
Always miss this place in a small alley. Very friendly staff and quite active atmosphere. Deco is more like a bar rather a cafe, coffee is good though.
real like the coffee, tasted so nice, I also tried cookie sandwiches, It has the peanut flavor which I loved so much, will recommend to my friends!
Patricia was tucked away in one corner and its quite easy to miss it but luckily the long line of customers caught my eye and i managed to find the place. The almond croissant had a soft texture, slightly crispy but not overbaked with a nice touch of sugar icing. The atmosphere was super bustling with many people ordering takeaway as there was no seats. The latte was smooth and not too bitter as well which i liked.
Visiting Melb for a week - Patricia came recommended by many friends as having one of the best coffee & good-looking patrons haha...
Everybody here seemed to know each other I was quite intimidated at first. But they very kindly extended their warmth to a foreigner - very nice staff that made me feel welcome.
Coffee wasn't bad but not really to my liking. Out of the few places I've been to in Melb, Patricia's coffee was one of the most bitter ones I guess? To each their own, but it just wasn't my taste.
Heard Patricia for ages but this is my very first time visiting this famous cafe store. Ordered long black, love the tastes and smell. A really good coffee I can say although I'm not professionals. Bonus mark to the staff services, hahah :)
Great coffee and even better service. Everyone is lovely and the selection of sweets pairs nicely with their filtered coffee. The more I go here the more i find a reason not to go anywhere else
One of my favourite spots to visit for a morning coffee. The staff as so attentive and greet and direct you as soon as you enter their beautiful space. I always leave enough time before work to have my coffee there and many times I've been offered a sample of their filter coffee as I wait for the one I ordered. Both the house and Ethiopian blend are beautiful; I enjoy the house blend, it has almost a savouriness to it which is great! All around a professional, well considered and personable establishment.
Good service eventhough very busy :)
Nice coffee. Had white and black, both were wonderful☕☕☕
Highly recommend !! I will visit soon and want to buy coffee bean.
Thanks
I have to concede that the coffee here was REALLY good. It deserved the top rating it got. The -.5 from the rating was given as I feel like I can only properly judge coffees when it's served in a cup and the milk is poured with care than takeaway (which was a mistake as I told the counter guy I wanted mine in a coffee cup).
Anywayyy. Coffee was really superb here and their pastries and cakes were so good as well. 6 people working behind the counter in a tiny place though. No complaint about the place being short staffed here!
One of my favourite places in Melbourne.A cup of coffee and small desert will brighten my whole day up.But it's not very close to my office, hopefully when we move office on mid September,I can go there more often.

Probably the most consistent coffee in the cbd. Not many coffee shops can maintain the same coffee flavor everyday. 9.5/10 for the coffee. Just wished they open on the weekends so that i can get my sunday coffee
Hidden gem. Purists will enjoy, great vibe, relaxed, sparkling mineral water on entry. Short macchiato was great. Underground feel...recommended
Little coffee store tucked in the corner of Little Bourke and Little William Streets. It's something you'd walk past and not put your head into the store to see what products/ services they offer. Definitely if you're after a coffee fix you'd have to give this place a shot; the amora of coffee hits you as soon as you walk into the store. Standing area only, don't expect to sit around and chat.
At present, Patricia Coffee Brewers is easily the best coffee spot in Melbourne.
From the alley window, I could see that the Patricia's was bursting with patrons. Joining the sizeable cue to get in, I was immediately anxious that it would be hours before I would even reach the counter, let alone get my coffee.
I was about to turn and walk away when I was greeted by a kind smiling face in the doorway who not only took my order, but provided information regarding roast, tasting notes and origin. I had my coffee in hand within 5 minutes of joining the cue.
The coffee itself was absolute perfection!
Also worth mentioning are the delicious pastries on offer. The Pear Danish was perfectly crisp and dense, as a real danish should be.

A little place with a big line for coffee! It's a pity that there isn't room to accommodate people inside, only some seats outside with improvised chairs. However, I can assure you that you won't be disappointed to get your coffee from here :)
Nowhere to sit and too busy. But the coffee is great and the staff are always wonderful. Always. Just amazing service culture maintained over several years. If only airlines were run like this.
Came here about a year ago and had a good memory so I came back for another cup. There was a crowd inside and outside so don't plan to have a sit down. They make all their coffees the same so don't bother asking for a cappuccino as they don't put chocolate on top. Their standard regular coffee is a double shot. They gave me a cup of sparkling water while I waited which was a nice touch. The coffee was near perfect. Could have been a little hotter that's all.
Used to be my favourite morning spot with my best friend but it was so busy today that we had to wait more than 15mins for our coffee not including the queue. We used to order cloud mountain and they served it in a cappuccino cup, clean and nicely presented. But you could tell that today's one was quickly put together. I ordered a cappuccino and there was barely and foam, it was more like a flat white. Everything tasted good but the whole experience was not as good as our previous visits.
super small and super crowded place. had a white coffee to go, and i understand why it's so popular. i had several coffees in melbourne, all are amazing but this was the best 😊
and i love the energy of all the staff. in between their busy work, they still took time to had a chat with customers. i could see that they were enjoying their work.
The coffee tastes strong and great. The service is good and quick. Thanks for making such good coffee in Melbourne. :) Will be there soon.......
Wow, the coffee here really speaks for itself. Really hard to find, but immediately saw the throngs of people waiting outside to order. Even though there were so many people, from ordering to having a hot cup of coffee only took 3-4 minutes. The coffee was amazing, a short review can't really describe it. It was smooth, strong and a perfect temperature. Definitely check this place out if you get a chance, you won't regret it.
Very nice coffee with slightly almond aftertaste. One of my favourite coffees also in melbourne. Only thing stopping from giving full ratings is that it isnt open during weekends.
This place is really hard to find. The address is really misleading including google gps itself. You'll find it on Little Williams Lane, Little Bourke Street side. You can smell the whiff of brew once you find it with quite a number of people queuing. It seemed like a lot of customers were here to try it out rather than regulars.
Ordered a latte and had the choice of house blend being 7 seeds or a Cambodian blend. I chose the 7 seeds but it's really expensive $4.30 for a regular one sized. It's not bad but not the best. It is strong and nicely prepared though the blend still doesn't tick as the best in my mind. Worth a try.
Hip Coffee in the CBD
I have wanted to come here for a while so today was the day, Hard to find! but all the best places are. Once discovered i saw a swarm of people inside/ outside and in a que to order Coffee. Ordered a Flat white with the Patricia bean i think. Instantly offered a glass of sparkling water , even though i had ordered a takeaway! That is service, and within 3 minutes i had a hot well made coffee, strong hot and smooth!
This place is a Gem and i will be for sure coming back fro more, the small selection of sweet pastry's looked amazing too.
Great vibe, cool interior, friendly staff and lots of people hanging around outside. Slightly pricier than usual coffee but they give you sparkling water while you wait. Only standing room inside and crates outside to sit on.
I've had better coffee though. But still a good coffee stop if you're in the area.
If this place is hard to find just follow the aroma or find the crowd. Super busy, super friendly service but quick and definitely awesome coffee
Fast service and well made coffee. Very distinct flavour of whatever bean I had that day but I don't think I'll go out of my way to return. Also it's a bit pricey
Cozy place tucked in a small Melbourne alley. Staff were all really friendly and coffee was great, even by Melbourne standards. As the place is small, there are no tables to sit at however.
Best coffee in Melbourne!!! Overall experience is terrific! Walk in, staff know you and welcome you by name - after first time obviously. Staff are amazing - know their stuff. Outstanding overall!!!
Patricia's Coffee Brewers is an unassuming, hidden away Gem. Don't be put off by the long queue of people winding out the doorway of this place, the team of about 6 baristas will have them all served and caffeinated in not long at all. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the wait is not long or painful- they even give you a sparkling mineral water to wait! I ordered a long black of the Patricia blend. It was lovely!
Love this place, always busy, always good coffee and always friendly staff!! The perfect place to start your day. Keep up the good work guys.
It was my first time there and I had difficulty in finding the place, it's located in an alley way..just look for the people waiting outside! The staff were super friendly and patient with me since I had no idea what I was ordering haha. But warning, the space is quite small. I had the intention of sitting there to eat and do my work, however, I was only able to stand while scarfing down my pastry. I ordered the peach and raspberry pastry, which was about 5$, it was actually good...worth your money. The coffee was okay, if you're into coffee, you'll enjoy it more than me haha! I would return but only for takeaway. The atmosphere of the coffee shop was really nice!
One of those hidden gems located in the CBD of Melbourne. Cozy place filled with friendly staffs. #Aestheticgoals on point too ☺️ Do make sure to try it out!
Really nice small place hidden inside. Place smell of coffee miles away. Staff friendly & welcoming. Attentive in service & friendly. Coffee taste unique & staff take extra care in preparation to maximise the quality & your experience to be unique in a more genuine manner. Place gets really busy & crowded. Overall quality, uniqueness, ambiance + service compared to price gives a combine rating of 4.4*
I loved Patricia
But now my heart is broken
Stingy with filter
[I've been going to this place on and off for years but one too many experiences with the tide being out in my coffee cup has left me wanting. I think I'll give somewhere else a try.]
Had to give Patricia a try given such a high review it receives on Zomato.
Tried my typical flat white coffee. I feel the acidity of the coffee is a bit strong to me although a lot of people enjoy such taste.
I found the font on the coffee cup pretty artistic. So can you tell from the good-looking and stylish staff here :)
As one of the high rated coffee place in Melbourne, we are intrigue to check this out as it is highly recommended by one of my colleague who works just around the corner from Patricia coffee. The hip staffs greeted us even though they were so busy and the lines were about a few metres long from the cashier. We were given sparkling water whilst waiting for our coffees and donuts. Now in Perth I miss this coffee and vibe.
As one of Melbourne’s highest rated coffee places I was naturally excited to check our Patricia. It’s in a bit more of a corporate location in Little Bourke, but you’ll still find the bright, shiny hipster staff here to happily serve you a smashing brew. The vibe of the place is great, I like the touches like the standing-read newspapers, as well as the hobo crates as makeshift outdoor seating. The staff have a lot of personality and you can get some sparkling water whilst you wait. And the coffee – solid! Great extraction, pleasant aftertaste, could have gone for seconds or thirds. I also grabbed a marshmallow, chocolate and sea salt cookie and this was yum. $4.50 for the biscuit is a bit overpriced though. But coffee game alone makes it a top pick. Now in London I miss such coffee. Sigh.
After having this booked marked for so long I decided to finally go try it. Patricia's is situated behind movida down a little alley way. It was packed with suits and all corperates on their smoko's. This cafe/espresso bar is only very tiny and more so for either grabbing a takeaway or having a quick coffee. There were pastries to choose from but it is more so aimed at coffee. There was a cue out the door which I was more than happy to wait as it moved fast. They noticed I had my massive pram and knew it was a mission to get It inside to place my order so a staff member kindly came out to take my order 👍🏼. I ordered a long black with the Ethiopian coffee bean.
Coffee was good and the right ratio coffee:water but the flavours weren't really there. I didn't get the fruitiness of the bean come through. I was a little disappointed. Glad I tried this place though. Very melbournian
I'm impressed! Hidden in true Melbourne style, down an ally off little bourke & little william is a truly impressive venue. The staff are super welcoming as you enter the tiny and well styled spot they occupy... offering sparkling water while you wait.
I receive my coffee with a smile after a short wait and loving coffee for its taste alone, I'm hopefull it wont dissapoint... It doesn't! It has a super smooth taste with a hint of chocolate, ans then its finished too soon, I wish I worked closer to pop in again.
Thanks guys, you've got a great thing going!
Don't doubt the alley as you turned in to see people squatting, sitting on crates or even on the floor. You might not be able to avoid the coffee rush hour too as that's really an all day event hereLove the aroma + coffee vibes at Patricia Coffee Brewers, I had a good espresso (small batch Konga), watched cute baristas at work with happy dates, the cutest said "Goodbye Roslyn" when I walked out the door. This is my first visit, totally impressed!
I went there this morning around 10am. It was so many people that time. I had the flat white and peanut butter cookie. Yummy !
Service was very good as well as their coffee 🤗🤗❤️ worth the line up
Patricia's just get it right - simple and perfect.
Coffee is some of the best in Melbourne. If you think otherwise, you are just wrong.
The service is phenomenal - friendly, quick, consistent.
I cannot fault a single thing - this place is an institution - get around it.
When I arrived, it was a good idea to be offered two options for coffee flavours. I had a latte and was surprised by the Barista, who offered me sparkling water. Nice experience.
After religiously walking back and forth for a couple of days (because it's close due to Christmas holiday), I'm finally be able to taste what Patricia got to offer in my last day in Melbourne. A local couple recommended me to try their coffee as it is soooo good and of course, I'm intrigued, especially when I found out their zomato's rank is quite high.
They only got three choices in their menu, so I asked them to surprise me instead. They give me an ice coffee with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a nice surprise indeed! I guess what I like is that the coffee doesn't leave an acidic after taste and combine with the ice cream, it got that right amount of sweetness without being too creamy or anything.
Their service is amazing! I was a bit flabbergasted since it's so crowded and I don't know where to start (being a tourist and all), then one of the girl just come right at me and help me take (or pick) my orders. Oh yes, the place is pretty small, there is no seat whatsoever, this place is definitely for takeaway only but everyone seems to be enjoying themselves just standing around by the open window, chatting or sitting at the curb outside the store. Can't blame them; nice weather, nice coffee, nice atmosphere, who can resist?
They also give you a glass of complimentary soda water while waiting for your order. I wish I can stay a lot longer in Melbourne so I can taste the many different taste of Patricia, but I guess I have to wait until my next trip. I will definitely come back for more :)
Extensive coffee menu offering with a choice of either White, Black or Filter. Top notch coffee, with grab and go room only. Definitely worthwhile a trek even if you aren't around the area. If you are huffing and puffing once you get here, there is complimentary sparkling water on offer.
I quite like coffee but normally I only drink mocha. Found this place according to zomato review and it did not disappoint me at all! Although they only had black white and filtered, the staff patiently explained to me about the coffee they have and I ordered a white and a black. They also offered me to try a bit of the filtered one but I still like white coffee better. No sugar or chocolate available but you can add sugar yourself. Really jealous that people working around there can enjoy a nice coffee every day.
Hidden city gem. Best coffee in Melbourne in my opinion. Hands down!
I also like how they offer sparkling water whlist you wait for your cup of coffee
Nice coffee! Patricia is lovely tiny cafe ,so busy and standing room only! Quite simple menu: "White" "Black" "Filter".
I ordered a cup of Flat White without sugar. I loved it! Amazing taste! Worth waiting for!
Staffs were so nice, fabulous service! Deserve to 5.0!
Standing Room only! I love Patricia!
Locate in an alley right across from the Court of Justice.
You know people here lining up just because of their coffee, not to stay here for hours with their laptops or chit chat with friends.
Menu is simple. Black, White or Filter. Flat White it is and this is the only way I had my coffee during my week long travel in Australia. Double shots is the way to go!
Lovely Latte Art. Well Foamed Milk. Free Sparkling Water. Staff just so nice even offered that to my sister who was just hanging out with me outside the window.
Worth the line up and the hype.
How do The Whippeteers KNOW that "Patricia" is AWESOME good?
Just by letting the the body/brain decide. How so? Straight away, we wanted MORE. ANOTHER coffee!
The aftertaste was SOOOO nice. Didn't need or want water. The taste just sat in the palate.... Hmmmm nice.
Today we had the Patricia house blend made into a Café Latte.
Service: Fabulous.
Venue:. HIDDEN. Dedicated to coffee. It's our kinda place.
How find? Just look for all the peeps sipping their coffees in the lane. The front door is around THE BACK!
Patricia has Great coffee of course but it also has wonderful staff who will whip you up a nice pour over, black or white coffee. The prices are good for specialty coffee but be warned this place is as they put it "standing room only" and it's often nicer to take your coffee to go or drink it fast in their cramped bar while browsing a great coffee or Melbourne street art book.
I blame Patricia Coffee Brewers for my caffeine addiction. I love the classy hipster yet corporate vibe of the cafe more than anything, and I appreciate that sparkling water is served in house as a palate cleanser before the coffee. Kudos for sourcing amazing baked goods from Cobb Lane as well!
Coffee and croissant were splendid. I wasn't really bothered by the standing room condition. Service was friendly as well!Double thumbs up👍👍
I've drink lots of coffee in Mel City, patricia is still my favorite one. They always busy but you dont have to wait too long. And even when they are busy the coffee still taste good. But in my opinion I think they dont have to use seven seed's coffee bean.
Had a flatwhite yesterday for afternoon tea :)
The coffee here is always perfect. The creaminess, texture and the flavour is just perfect!
The latte art is also drawn professionally!
The staffs are all very friendly too. One of the barista gave us a free espresso when we dined in there :)
Highly recommended!
After hearing so much about this place. A friend, Tastebud Tester and I hit it and boy was there a line outside! When we managed to squeeze inside, the selection of coffee type is strict but a long list of bean type. I ordered the latte and was told it was a same as a flat white, which technically is true but... After some fancy, bubble water to clear the palette.. Coffee came. The coffee was very good but not sure if it was great.. Maybe I am just a coffee snug! Worth a try if you are in town.
Was named the best coffee, according to a survey by yelp. Coffee is good... Designed more for people nearby for a coffee break as they only open on the weekdays and a standing room lol
I have heard about this place so many times and finally got a chance to visit. As it is located 2-3 tram stops from where I work, so takes me some time to get to this place.
Really nice and smooth coffee, definitely recommend for a coffee break during work hours in the city.
Great coffee, busy little packed coffee shop. People were standing here drinking or waiting for takeaways but absolutely lovely place, could smell the fragrance of the coffee and the bakery
Been tipped from my coffee lover friend in sydney about this place. Did quite a walk from where we stay at the casino on a monday afternoon, found the entrance in an alley, and be amazed when i walked in.. Nice set up a lot of windows, so a lot of sun, bit warm but its good to avoid the cold melbourne weather. Ordered a picollo and flat white, they both nice.. Definite come back
I've actually never heard about this place until a friend took me here, got a bit lost trying to find it. This place was buzzing with only room to stand which was different!
What was interesting was that my friend ordered two of anything, basically asking them to give us any coffee/as a surprise cuz he had previously done this before. The lady who took our order narrowed it down by asking us whether we wanted black/white, how many shots etc and narrowed it down to a certain blend (forgot the name). My friend said last time they just gave him something spontaneously. Either way, it was pretty cool. The coffee we ended up getting tasted really good, great experience. Service was also really fast even though it was hella busy.
Nice coffee! Only been here once though, not very easy to find the place and it's so busy! I like how they serve you sparkling water, so good.
Great coffee, and great service. Well done guys. With so many other competitors you need to be ahead of the pack. Always a pleasure dropping in for that quick take away.
Quite possibly the best place in Melbourne to get a cup of coffee on the go. They are located in a laneway in Little Bourke Street, which makes it a bit tricky to find the first time. It's not a cafe to sit down and have a chat, but the coffee is top class!
It is a very simple and tight place, and it seems always packed. It is a great coffee spot for take away. I came on a rainy and windy day, the cafe was full, hot and humid inside, spent a few minutes waiting to find a place near window. If it is a sunny day, I would prefer to drink outside on the pavement. Customer service is flawless, coffee looks elegant and tastes great, the marshmallow cookie has much chocolate filling and is too sweet for me. Looking forward to tasting more coffee and pastries. An absolute must visit.
I found out on my last day in Melbourne. It turns out near my hotel. The place was packed and vibrant. A lots of going on, on that little place (by the way, they don't have a sitting area) but still a good environment. It has long queue (it's mean something good going on) but the system works well, we only waited for few minutes. Overall enjoy the coffee experience. I would recommend to come and get a good cup of coffee.
My friend told me to come here because of the good coffee, but I was attracted to the marshmallow cookie. Had a soy latte and the staff recommended a certain blend, which tbh, I'm not a coffee expert so I had no idea but what I can say was, yum! Great coffee and the cookie was on point!
Love the vibe and service!
Quite simply, THE best coffee in Melbourne.... And most likely, all of Australia. It is THAT good!
Well worth the wait and well worth the walk to get there if you are not close by
The COFFEE: Balanced strength, texture, temperature and sweetness. I didn't need to add any sugars, which is always a good sign. - 5.0
The ATMOSPHERE: Buzzing, tight for space because of the extremely small space. Drawback is there is no seating area is it isnt easy to find if you're not familiar with that pocket of the city. Arguably this is part of Patricia's beauty, her elusiveness. - 4.0
The SERVICE: Pretty much a counter service for take away concept, so it's really hard to accurately gauge. The girl at the counter did give me a good recommendation on a tasty single origin though. - 4.0
A unique blend of coffee that spoils you for life. They only serve coffee and bakery items. They took the risk of not keep many options as they were so confident about the coffee they make. It's amazing and gets you addicted to it. Though the place is always crowded, the staff members never fails to cater you. Instead of normal water...they serve spring water.
A must visit if you are a coffee snob.
Love the coffee here, from when I was living in The William across the road, to now where I have to drive 30+ minutes after work just to grab a coffee. Always made by friendly faces, and perennially crowded.
I love the coffee here - both the house blend and the seven seeds single origin. There's a reason why this place is always busy! I recommend you avoid the peak hours of the morning though.
Laneway access only - adds to the charm. Coffee comes standard with 2 shots and milk how you like it. Fair range of artisan pastries for breakfast. Sparkling water while you wait. A bit of luxury for a rainy day.
Everything a melbourne coffee shop should be. Even a bluestone building at the end of the little lane gives a great feeling to this shop . It has coffee (only coffee) and specialist coffee or the house pick. Standing room only and it makes excellent coffee
Tiny coffee shop that draws parties into this desolate laneway with their great rich brew.
If you fancy cake too, they have a small range on offer.
One of the best caffeine hits available, if you're floating around the of the CBD.
The only kicker is the real lack of inside 'hang out' space.
Standing room only ..... in this Coffee Bar
They should start selling tickets soon, apart from selling those cool leather straps apron.
Hipster, fancy looking staff, what more could you asked for? EXTREMELY crazy coffee to go along their prices.
Thanks guys ....
UPDATE 24/3/2017
Upping the ante, Ethiopian beans, all those fruity characters, not overpowered by the milk.
4.5/5 at $4.30
Free flow Sparkling water.
Attentive staff that remember my name, coffee order and quirky details of my life.
Staff are always smiling, extremely attentive to detail and share a great knowledge for their product. I always feel so fancy when I get my coffee from Patricia's. Thank you for always looking after me and making me feel special.
Cool vibe and good coffee.
Sparkling water on tap, newspapers and cool surroundings tucked down a laneway off Little Bourke.
Find me on Instagram: @melbourne_explorer.
What a coffee den this is, the attention to detail is paramount at all times in this place, the coffee is perfect is preparation, taste and depth, yes it's small, the line is long but it's worth it
Hands down one of the best coffees i've ever had in my life. It is hidden away down a laneway and it is tastefully decorated.
Consistent coffee, always packed and there is only ever standing room at this place!
Extremely packed at 9am.
It's down a quiet alleyway and the only way I could identify it was by the sign and by the long line of people.
I'm not a coffee person and they didn't serve hot chocolate so Jasmine (!) recommended the tea.
Tea was pretty bomb and the barista was about to hand me my drink, then said "Oh wait, it's a little too hot. Let me go put another cup on this".
What a homie! I ended up burning my tongue due to my impatience to taste the berry-infused tea.
It was pretty damn good.
Definitely recommend for the service!
Let me just say, this place serves probably one of the best coffees in Melbourne. I stumbled upon this place off a uni early finish. It doesn’t really have much space so it’s more like a standing room takeaway cafe thing. They do have benches and stuff for you to stand by and enjoy your coffee while reading their newspaper and magazines laying around. I was greeted by a nice staff member who introduced me to different coffee blends and also provided complimentary sparkling water while I was waiting for my cap.
Excellent coffee and very consistent. Never had a bad coffee here. Can be a little wait but they do well considering how busy they get.
Dare to say this could possibly be my favourite coffee shop in Melbourne. The coffee shop is slightly hidden away from the main streets so you have to look in between the tall business buildings. It's a busy and hustling place full of people mostly in suits coming in and out to get their coffee whether they are on the move to their next meeting or court appointment as it is near what I call the lawyer end of the city. The store is quite petite where upon entering you realize there is a sign that states standing room only which makes sense. The coffee simply tastes exquisite and goes with the modern and active atmosphere of the shop.
Excellent coffee in a sophisticated European style interior that makes every sip feel splendid.
Had to order a second coffee after experiencing the first and felt I could stay there all day --- drinking coffee after coffee marvelling at the whitewashed walls and the crowd enjoying the day and the sun outside. (They do have different blends to sample.)
Places like this add to Melbourne's reputation as the premier coffee destination in the world.
Years ago when travelling through Italy I would lament at the state of Melbourne's coffee scene with what I was experiencing, but now the table has definitely turned. Nowhere is coffee taken so seriously with such pedantic skill in getting it right and immaculate presentation than Marvellous Melbourne.
Ordering a coffee here is like preparing for a mild skydive: you will be asked pertinent questions and you will be advised on the content and makeup of your coffee.
This place was down a random alleyway and you know it's good if it is that hidden away and there is a line out the door. The place was really small which is why it is standing cafe only. They primarily sell coffee with a few different fresh looking cakes available. The coffee was smooth and strong. I can see why there's a crowd here.
I love the coffee here. The atmosphere feels very cool and aesthetic and the customer service is very good. This place gets packed so be ready to drink your coffee on the go as this place gets filled up with people.
I am very impressed by how hospitable staff have been to me and my friend - Every time. Smile to one degree higher than they should. It's small place and I can't possibly tell u how good and professional they way they treat their coffee product , on top of that, I would also recommend to bloggers who always looking to impress their reader - u will always find something just outside the shop, on the pavement , next to the small drive way.
This is specialty coffee! One of my favourite hidden CBD coffee spots. Great for a coffee on the go or a really cool standing atmosphere of you have time for that. The vibe inside is really cool with old newspapers in the walls and a pretty cool crowd to match. Also, if you are in the mood for something sweet, the salted Caramel cookie sandwich is amazing!
cold pour over is the absolute best. Favourite coffee spot in the city !
I am a big fan of market lane coffee, and their long black coffees are amazing. Would definitely recommend
Sea salt chocolate cookie and sm delcious pistachio bite with seven seed coffee all was so perfect for a cold rainy morning. Very good coffee. No place to sit n njy d coffee. Otherwise great place.
A cosy standing room where serves quality coffee and food. I love their cappuccino, but not as much as their brownie biscuits! Rich, thick, chewy, sweet and everything! Nothing can beat that peanut butter centre.
Was so eager to visit the place, tried their house blend and it was awesome, smooth creamy full body and clean aftertaste. Staffs were nice and very-coffee-like ambiance. Definitely coming back!
First visit of the day for our foodie weekend. Place was packed around 11.30am. We ordered coffee and stood inside. They have a few crates out the back to sit on but we wanted to be inside to experience the great coffee vibe. This place comes across as hipster but staff were pleasant. You get some nice sparkling water once you have ordered your coffee. They also have some sweets on offer if you were feeling a bit peckish. Great decor and love the neon sign on the ceiling.
Owned and operated by the Seven Seeds Consortium this is a buzzing cafe with a fine finishes as a bold step away from the grungy cafe. I stopped in here for a coffee. They retail coffee and tea and have a cool outdoors seating area.

SUMMARY JUDGMENT
1. It's important to go into some of the details whenever one talks about Patricia (the 'Definition of Melbourne Coffee Standards').
2. From the sparkling water, to the bronze shoe, to specific temperature of each beverage, the evidence clearly suggests that Patricia and Betty Cocker would be best friends and we NEED to get a movie night session organised ASAP. (Clearly we'd be watching The Castle).

3. Any passersby looking for coffee who decide to go anywhere other than Patricia within a 50m radius are hereby sentenced to a minimum jail time of 6 months. They are also banned from any form of coffee consumption for an equal period, heretoforth.
Guys know how to pull a great espresso. Right little space in Melbourne sending out great coffee with a check out if you haven't been here before.
Very VERY difficult to fault this place. No comment needed........…….……….
What a quaint little coffee hideaway! Nice 7 seeds or small batch roasts, busy trio of baristas and those leather work aprons. A daily necessity for lawyers!
There should be an option for a 5 and above rating- because this place is definitely worthy of it. The coffee is exceptional, the service is impeccable, I hadn't been for quite some time and they still remembered my name. Despite that it's standing room only and a small space the atmosphere and ambience of the place packs such a punch - it's buzzing, it's alive. These guys have done and continue to do such a great job!
I must say, I made it my mission to try the best coffee in Melbourne. Who would have thought that I have found it! The first time I tried Patricia my taste buds were in heaven and if my feet could clap together while walking I would have done so. I had the skinny latte and bam! I got hit on the face and didn't even know what was coming. I will definitely go back to this place to try some of their sweets. Wonderful customer service too! I can't find any faults.

Eat My Street recently visited Patricia Coffee Brewers, a cafe that scores a whopping 9.2 out of 10 on Bean Hunter and is consistently voted as one of the best coffees in Melbourne’s CBD. I would have to agree. Reminiscent of a cafe in Italy, Patricia does not have a lot of space nor seats. Located on the corner of a little alley way you will happily find yourself drinking your coffee standing, mingling with everyone else in the small cafe space inside, or indeed leaning against a grey-stone wall in laneway outside. If you are really weary you might be lucky enough to nab a milk crate.
Patricia seriously has good service worked out. How their staff remember the names of every one of the steady stream of customers that comes through their door I will never know. Coffee is excellent every single time. Wish they had savoury pastries but their sweet treats are stunning.
Fantastic coffee. Simple but excellent.
As a Sydney-sider in Melbs the staff were friendly and happy for a chat - recommended a bunch of great eats to visit. Highly recommend for great coffee and lovely staff.
Normally I don’t like to look too far for a good cup of coffee but after a friends suggestion and awesome reviews I thought that I would try Patricias coffee in the CBD. Feeling adventurous I decided to walk from the mall all the way up to Patricia coffee which was basically up the high end of Little Bourke. After making it to the trump (Plays Eye of the tiger) I was really hoping that I was going to have a great cup of coffee.
I can't talk about the coffee, because I haven't tried it. Mostly because somebody I know was nice enough to get me some nice goodies from this place, and they were absolutely fantastic!
I very much loved the pistachio cake and the peanut butter and chocolate sandwich (??). I like the brownie's texture a lot, but it's not as robust with the chocolate.
If you're inclining towards cookies, pick the one with nuts over the chocolate marshmallow- the latter was a bit too sweet.
Excellent service! So friendly! It was funlooking for this place, small and tucked away to the side! Cosy atmosphere! I dont know a lot about coffee, i mainly just drink it to stay awake in meetings and movies hehe but i enjoyed mine! Yum! And delicious cookie too! Like a next level evolution subway cookie :D its standing room only here, no tables, but i enjoyed drinking my coffee on the windowsill and munching on the cookie! :)
Great coffee, nice small place perfect for take away coffee or on the go. I would be more happy if they have some tables and chairs inside. But so far im okay with it
A hidden little coffee place on Little William St. Great place for those who love their coffee strong! Had their soy cap which was good but really strong! They also have some yummy treats:
Gorilla - affogato and brownie, which was yummm. The bitterness of the espresso cuts through the sweet and creamy ice cream, complementing the buttery brownie. Amazing!
Clouds mountain - a delicious abomination of affogato served with a canele pastry.
They also have another version which is affogato and peanut butterbing.
You can then wash down all the caffeine and sugar with the complimentary sparking water, which was very refreshing.
Excellent coffee, seriously delicious cakes (that my waistline doesn't need) & super friendly staff...all in all a top place. Just wish they had seating to sit & enjoy said coffee & cake but I'm happy to grab & go when it's this good!!!
Coffee was fantastic. Love the service -we went there 3 times in the week and they knew us! The little touches make it - the sparking water, the friendly staff, the flowers on the windowsill. Highly recommend, if we lived closer we would be regulars.
This coffee is so good that I have had to redo my review - the Swine thinks this coffee experience is world class. This place may be located in a dodgey looking side alleyway but this tiny cafe really is special...everything from the tapped sparkling water, the quality barristas, the blends of beans to the attention to detail if you want an extra hot coffee which is measured. You can really feel the love. Recommended. 10 out of 10!
My favourite coffee in the city. Fantastic coffee and such friendly service. And a queue out the door tells a story. Fantastic filter coffee too. Oh and butterbing!!! 😍
Confession Time! - I don't use my real name when I order my coffee. It all started from a very unpleasant coffee experience at Starbucks when I used my name and they butchered it to pieces. It came to a point that I can't be bothered to spell out my name again and again - and even if I did, they still don't get it right. I have officially given up giving my real name when I order that I shortened it shamelessly. So now, I always go by the coffee order name simply as "Chris". Sometimes, this is spelled with a K, which I don't mind. But I find that the "C" is a bit more subtle. I know some people who actually invent cool names and use that to order their coffee when they were asked for a name.
Cute baristas, lovely customer service, peaceful ambience and heart warming coffee. I think I'm in love 😍 Not to mention the peanut butter cookie that completely tops off this experience. Definitely worth the walk! ☕️💕
A bit hard to find if you are not looking for it but once you find Patricia, you will be glad that you did. My flat white has always been consistent and the coffee shines through the milk. Don't go past the pastries on offer especially Butterbing's cookie sandwich.
Great coffee and amazing I never realised this place even existed, especially after having walked by it every day for a year to get to work. It's as if it is an exclusive coffee club to which only existing members can choose to extend an invite to you. Well, that's how I found out about it. It's ridiculously busy though, so try avoiding peak times or you can be waiting over 15 mins for a coffee or just bring a friend along to keep you company.
The place is well hidden, which you'd think would be to the detriment of the place. The reason this place is constantly packed with people? Because they arguably serve the best coffee in the CBD. Unfortunately the set-out of the place means you generally can't sit and enjoy it at a table (there are none!) - this place is primarily designed for a take-away experience.
Hidden away with no clear signage, Patricia's is a very satisfying find. An intimate space with little interior details such as framed newspaper pages, books and flowers against the window ledge that serves as a standing table. Reminescent of the coffee culture back in time. The Columbian coffee is a must try, along with the chocolate salted peanut butter cookie cake. Complimentary sparkling water is a nice touch too. Would definitely go back.
THE. BEST. If you're in town and you're looking for coffee other than BBB, this is it. Literally a hole in the wall but worth the treasure hunt!
Sophistication, class and quality. Take away coffee or drink in. Love the strength, oomph and power of the coffee bean flavors that don't exist in the majority of the surrounding cafes. Service is impeccable. If you drink your coffee in, it will be served in rustic individually hand crafted porcelain cups which feel like silk to touch and a pleasure to drink from. You can enjoy your cup of joy while standing at the window panes and meditating the flavors possibly with a sweet luxurious treat. The space is small, narrow & intimate. The staff are lovely and professional clad in leather aprons. The energetic pace sets a vibrant atmosphere- a mix of modern and old school.
BEST. COFFEE. EVER! This place is right near work and is packed every day. Standing room only. For some reason I love their sparkling water, I know that shouldn't be so exciting but I really love it.
Some of the best coffee in Melbourne. Strong, hot, delicious. Stand-up coffee bar is cute and cosy. Busy, but comfortable. Staff are really friendly and helpful and seem to love being there. Must-do coffee spot for everyone in Melbourne!
The most exceptional coffee bar in Melbourne or perhaps in the world for my liking. That's right, in the world! The staff are attentive, friendly and always good for a chat. A complimentary mineral water is served to cleanse your palette which you can enjoy whilst you wait for your coffee, breathing in the atmosphere of a truly Melbourne only scene. The coffee is served in nice deep Japanese cups and is just delicious. Perfect straight up black with so many more notes of flavour than I ever thought possible or with milk (and they do extra hot without fuss). The tasty treats also go down quite well if you're feeling dangerous. Bravo Patricia!
As Melbourne as it gets.
Truly brilliant coffee in a standing room only cafe down an alleyway off an alleyway. There are crates outside to sit on near dumpsters if you really need to sit.
There are also delicious sweets - their canele are so so so so good. That was four so's.
Such a fun experience and a truly yum one too.
simply amazing coffee in a great hidden away ally which in itself gives it its unique character which, hard to find coffee of this quality, will be coming back
Awesome coffee!!
Standing room only. Coffee and a few muffins etc.
Very busy but pretty quick service. Little hard to find but definitely worth making the effort. One of best coffee places in Melbourne.
Complimentary sparkling water which is a nice point of difference
If you love coffee, and you're in Melbourne... THIS is the place you need to go.
With a little disappointment with Melbourn coffee adventure, I searched up top coffee place in Melbourne CBD, and found Patrica to be ranked high on Zomato. And I know Zomato won't lie to me, so off we went to find Patricia.
This may not be the easiest place to find, but once you do, you will remember it well. The front door, which in theory would make sense to call it the back door, is hidden behind Little Bourke St near towards William St. We could have easily walked past it if it wasn't for the huge crowd of people packed in a tiny coffee place. I knew something good was hidden in there.
As you walk in, the smell of coffee grabs you by the nose and pulls you in. The cafe is simple, no seats, you just place your coffee by the window and just enjoy your coffee. With complimentary sparkling water. No other words than GREAT coffee. No wonder it was rated number 1 in Melbourne.
Highly recommended.
Really good coffee!! I also had their canelé the other day but it is too sticky, don't really like it. They also sell leather apron which is kinda cute and edgy novelty.
We had the best coffee here. Tried the black and the filter and the waiter offered us samples of another blend in filter as we were curious about the coffee - he knew what he was talking about. Cute, secret little place that we were lucky to find. Sah gud!
Stunningly positive in all areas. Best coffee I've had in Melbourne, absolutely perfect. Staff friendly, flavour of coffee to die for. It's on the corned of lt William and lt bourke street but you have to walk down past a grey sided building to find it. Worth the looking around ;)
Let's face it, you love to work, you love to chat and you need your daily dose of coffee extravaganza with class. Crisp and full of sunlight is best what describes the energetic coffee shop tucked away on little bourke street. They serve 7 seeds and a batch brew but the only reason they don't get the 0.5 is because they need to have a cappucino on their menu.
Very crowded/popular and yet the staff are very friendly. Uses bean from seven seeds and small batch, very nice coffee
A very Melbourne, classy coffee experience. Elegantly, a fine Melbourne experience. Located along a hidden lane way, heading south up the hill along Little Bourke St ( perhaps a 7 minute walk from Bourke St Mall), centrally located in Melbourne City - if you don't keep your eyes peeled (left), you will miss it. No sign that I recollect, however you will see a few fellow coffee hooked, slickly dressed urbanites, suited up, mulling around outside a small old style white building, as inside is quite a long narrow bar with standing room only, and window spots, standing room only. Superb coffee and amazing cake/biscuit to accompany if you wish, and also a complimentary sparkling water. Patricia Coffee Brewers have it in the bag. This is a seriously superb 'coffee only' experience. Love what they do.
If you work in the CBD and you haven’t been to Patricia Coffee Brewers, shame on you!
Last month I went to A Little Bird Told Me thinking I would get to try the famous Lune's croissants. I found out last week that in fact, the croissants weren't Lune's. They are available in her Elwood shop or Patricia Coffee Brewers, on Friday mornings. I opted to go to Patricia's since it was in town, near my housemate's work, so we could grab a quick breakfast before the day started. Also, I had heard many good reviews on their coffee, which is constantly of good standards. There's standing room only, but you are not standing on each other's toes. Past the narrow strip, there is a row of the day's papers pinned to the walls on the far side. I asked to make sure they were indeed Lune's croissants. They are, rest assured. Cheese and ham savoury one on the left, a plain one on the right. B and I had cold filter coffees because it was already getting too warm. Flaky pastries can be hard to eat because they fly everywhere. But I really enjoyed my plain croissants. I wish they had been
Tucked away in a deserted laneway off Lt Bourke St, here is where you will find...absolute perfection. Being a standing-room only coffee bar, the space can get quite cosy, particularly during peak coffee hour.
Patricia's tugging at my coffee heartstrings.
How good does a coffee have to be to get your customers coming back, even when you don't have a proper address, nor a namecard with any details whatsoever on it?
Upon arriving in Melbourne for a extended weekend break, I decided to check out Patricia. It is located on Little Bourke Street in Melbourne's CBD. The website indicated it is located at the corner of Little Bourke and Little William Streets. When I got to that intersection I couldn't see anything resembling a cafe. I walked up and down the block and started to despair finding it. Then I saw a young lady carrying a tray of 6 take away coffee cups and saw the name Patricia on them. I had to stop her and ask her where the cafe was and even she admitted it is not an easy place to spot. I finally found it, it is a small, narrow and nondescript place. There are no tables or chairs to sit down for a coffee but there are side counters and window panes to hang around. I loved it! It is obviously a well known local, there were so many people who queued to get a cup. The sign Sunshine hanging at the ceiling! When I placed my order, I was given 2 choices of coffee beans. Costa Rican or Seven Seed

For me Patricia Coffee Brewers could placate my coffee addiction until the day that I drop dead, but how fun would that be.
AMAZING! The best coffee place I have ever been in Melbourne. I would make sure to put this place as one of your list to visit if you are in cbd.
Exquisite. It's simple, it's the best drop in the city. Truly exquisite. Great job guys!!!
Top of the tops. Top coffee. Top service. Top secret ;)
My only place for a long mac. Over the past two and a half years that I have been working in the CBD, PCB has always been the place to go if I want something delicious and served in the way I like (which I think is ultimately the point of buying a coffee, right?). Their lines may be long, but time it right and you won't have to wait more than 5mins - guaranteed. There's a revolving group of staff, but all are friendly and the coffee is always made by the same couple of dudes (I think). Shout out to Bec who has the best smile with her service!
If you want a long mac with more than a 'stain' of milk, give these folks a go. It's the perfect in-between for those craving the hit of a long black and less milk than a flat white. My perfect coffee.
Best Coffee in Melbourne. Title says it all, best coffee I've had in Melbourne. Very friendly, attentive staff.
A regular. I work in the area and in its relatively short life Patricia has singlehandedly given this part of the city a much needed dose of quality. The people who dislike this place are the people who don't like waiting in queues and feel entitled to be rude on the basis that a place is, in their opinion, a "hipster hangout". Thanks for my morning coffees, the seven seeds house blend is consistently great.
Nice single origin coffee. double espresso the best. soy no good here. great staff. join the lawyers and IT crowd and jump in line.
Bowen is a legend, what more is there to say.. Please refer to title.
Excellent coffee, it's great how they rotate what coffee blends are on offer. I just wish it wasn't so crowded!
Good black coffee. Having switched to black coffee, I've realised how many places hide bad coffee with milk. Patricia's is one of the few coffee places that gets their black coffee right. Such a pity it's only open during business hours and is so small. I suppose the smallness of the place and the fact that they don't serve food adds to their charm. Would love to see them open on weekends though or later in the day as it's difficult to get to their location during business hours unless you happen to work in the area. Apart from the good coffee, I was struck by how personable their staff were, which was engagingly different.
Truly excellent coffee. Despite working in the local area, I finally visited Patricia only today. I was greeted promptly by a lovely waitress who helped me with my order (there are limitations in what you can order, they only have one size for take away coffee, no skim milk I think, etc) and so she suggested a long macchiato. I must admit, I was skeptical. When it was handed to me, the (take away) cup was about 2/3 full and I guess I'm used to more liquid. But one sip and I was a believer! Yes! What a wonderful, fruity, well balanced flavour. Just delicious.
And even better, they sell my current obsession, the canelé, which I believe is supplied by Gracious & Delicious (they supply a number of select cafes).
Meets the Hype. I went here after reading quite a lot of good reviews on this place - and for me it wasn't a let down. It's located in quite a cool space - it is quite small justifying the standing room only status. The staff on my experience have been great as they look to be busy all day everyday - but tend to be friendly all the same. The coffee is great - all in all one of the best coffee spots in Melbourne.
Flawless coffee. Milk was perfect, silky smooth - with the coffee shot striking the right balance between acidity and bitterness, can definitely tell the baristas are top notch here!
My friend took someone elses order by mistake, so they had to remake that order (which can be a pain coming from a baristas point of view), but were entirely cool about it and ended up having a great chat!
The standing room only inside and milk crates available to sit on outside gives this place a very unique feel, really worth the visit!
Michael Stachowiak. Best Coffee, Service, Atmosphere in town.
Example: Customer A asks to purchase another coffee of a different variety because he is not liking the taste of the one he had today, Bowen the owner makes him another coffee free of charge without even thinking about it.
That's service.
For the people reviewing who don't like the coffee at this place, they probably prefer a coffee at star bucks or gloria jeans. Coffee is great and the baristas know what they're doing. Always a nice variety of brews, blends and single origins sourced from great local roasters.
Happiness. Perfect coffee and lovely smiling people handing it you. I have been coming here for a year and haven't had a bad experience yet.
Market Lane without the attitude (and with soy)
Thank you Patricia
Patricia, I love you. Definitely my favourite place for coffee at the moment. The staff are always lovely and fun, but definitely work hard, too. Coffee is consistently delicious and I couldn't start my work day without it.
Dear forget_love-id_rather_fall_in_chocolate's guides.
Sorry for your experience. I can assure we are not lazy about making coffee and would be more then happy to make another cup of coffee for you. Sorry you felt otherwise. You should never pay money for something you don't want and hopefully you would give us the opportunity to repay you.
Sincerely,
Bowen (owner)
Dear Somewhereartthere, I a.... Dear Somewhereartthere,
I am extremely sorry for your bad experience at Patricia. We genuinely want to provide a fantastic experience for everyone that comes. I completely empathise with the feeling of going to a recommended place and being let down. I am deeply apologetic and would love the opportunity to redeem ourselves, if you care to come back. I can assure you we have are a fantastic team with honest, true intentions to provide a fun atmosphere, friendly customer service with a high quality product. Again I apologies and hope for you to try us again.
Sincerely,
Bowen
Flat white and espresso. Have been looking forward to coming here for ages.
Lovely staff, answered my questions despite being busy and also took the time to look after me as I wouldn't have heard my name being called out being deaf. Thanks guys!
Hidden Gem. You wouldn't stumble across this place unless you were looking for it. Hidden off Little Bourke St, Patricia's is a cool, classy and top quality cafe. There are no seats and standing room only which adds to the unique vibe they have created. At 3pm in the arvo it was full of suits and city workers. The staff are very friendly and their coffee (Proud Mary) was smooth. Great for a take away coffee or to stand around for a chat, do yourself a favour and experience it!
They also do a selection of sweets that looked the goods. One of the highlights was the complementary sparkling water, unheard of in cafes around Melbourne.
LC'S. The coffee was really good,I like seven seeds coffee beans. With my favorite soylatte, little bit bitter flavor after tasting.
Initially I thought this place would be pretentious and run by coffee snobs BUT the coffee is fantastic and the baristas were lovely (and helpful). It is weird standing up though...
Excellent Coffee. I've tried several of the top coffee places in and around the CBD but this is definitely the best coffee I've had in Melbourne so far. The staff are great and I really like that you can choose what coffee brand you want.
Great coffee. Coffee is excellent, staff are very natural and friendly and the service is great. sometimes it's super busy but that's the way of things, and i've never had to wait an unreasonable length of time for my coffee. the coffee pour over is really reasonably priced given prices of pour overs elsewhere.
Yum. Friendly, quick service and amazing coffee. A must if you are just after a quick coffee.
2 coffees every morning on my way through to work isn't enough at this place. Genuine people serving impeccable coffee = success. Make the trip, it's worth it.
Melbourne's. Best. Coffee.. Sceptical about what another cafe opening up so close to Little Bourke could possibly offer, Patricia continues to surprise. The staff are may be so-hipster-it-hurts, but service always comes with a smile and is (generally) quite efficient. It's also refreshing to have a coffee place that concentrates only on coffee, and manages to get it right every single time. Espresso is done exceptionally well here, but it's with the likes of third-wave brews like the pourover and most especially the cold filter (oh my goodness) that Patricia comes into its own. A small selection of cakes, while almost an afterthought, marries well with whichever kind you choose. Trumping all others in the coffee stakes, Patricia is the real deal.
This is what u look for in Melbourne coffee: off a lane way, finest roasts and good coffee!
Whats not to love. The only people that wouldn't like this place are those that don't know good coffee! the place is small and slightly hidden, but that's in the charm. delicious brews by friendly faces.
Patricia is by far the best cafe in the cbd, if not the greater Melbourne. It is testament to the quality of their coffee that this place gets busy, but the guys here crank out coffees at an amazingly fast rate. If you are serious about coffee this should be your cbd local. If you're nOt serious, get out of the line and go to the Bourke Place Food Court.
Cute!. Officially my new favourite coffee joint in the city.
great establishment for people working in the lebanese end of town.
cute and reliable coffee - 7 seeds and proud mary to choose from.
bye bye brother baba budan hello patricia !
YO! Patricia's café is pukka... Well worth tracking down if you need a caffeine hit!

Patricia Coffee Brewers is a fresh concept from Bowen Holden (ex Seven Seeds) that delivers with fun and flair. The high note is the coffee, which is simplified by the 3 options of black, white and filter. But behind the simple options there is much thought and acumen and the great idea of sourcing the best coffee from popular Melbourne coffee spots.
It can be a bit difficult to find, being hidden away along little williams st, just down the stairs from Movida Aqui & Paco’s Tacos. But once you find this retro cafe, you’ll constantly be back to enjoy a hit on the window sill with some pastries to go with. That’s the other thing – no seats and no brunch menu. But the coffee and experience are more than enough of a reason to visit.
There is always time for coffee in Melbourne and there are plenty of places to get a fix! Here are some of our favourites recently. Patricia Coffee Great coffee, great vibes and tempting looking cakes! Pop in and try and Patricia coffee – they are pretty darn good!! A Little Bird Told Me This place has such a good vibe to it! Sensational coffee, cute fit out, enticing cakes all round and an entertaining student crowd to observe! Winner!! Self Preservation Good coffee, nice food, nice enough staff – one of those great regular spots if you are nearby! ************************************************************* Previous post 20th August 2013 Ten years ago my coffee order was coffee, milk, no sugar…. how very different it is today! A huge coffee culture has exploded across Melbourne (and the world) and coffee is complex, scientific, experimental and sometimes a little bit pompous. There are now hundreds of coffee spots across Melbourne, many the nook, window and doorway has become armed
Mention Patricia Coffee Brewers and your barista’s eyes will take on a dreamy sheen. It’s the kind of place that every coffee pro dreams of opening. Patricia sits on the eastern side of Melbourne’s CBD, a stone’s thrown from Flagstaff and Southern Cross stations. You’ll find it down Little William Street, on the corner of Little Bourke. Standing room only, Patricia is all about the coffee. With expertly trained staff and discerning customers – Patricia is a cosy little haven in from Melbourne’s mercurial weather that knows exactly what the hell it’s on about. It was started by St Ali/Seven Seeds vetaran Bowen Holden, read his story here and try not to fall in love with his passionate, commonsense approach. Patricia sources, serves and beautifully repackages (for take home) coffee from Melbourne’s crea
Patricia is the cutest littlest coffee place, with stand up room only. The staff's friendly, and seem to know their regular clientele well. The hidden unmarked entrance off Little Bourke Street only gave aways its secret by the clusters of suited up workers waiting for their coffee outside. Like quite a few of the boutique coffee places around town (eg/ Market Lane Coffee ), I can't get a mocha here. I opted for a more exotic Costa Rican as a latte. Ric
Patricia fully qualifies as a hidden brew bar in terms of location and unmarked entrances.
While my Seven Seeds blend was smooth and strong, Yuye’s Guatemalan variety was sour on the palate. Although both were delicious and aromatic, I think I’m still not cultured enough to enjoy the sourness of some coffees, so naturally I preferred the Seven Seeds blend more. I must say though, Patricia Coffee Brewers were very good at making the perfect froth and coffee art. It was so smooth and beautiful that I didn’t want to break that beauty by drinking it.

Finding Patricia Coffee Brewers is half the challenge, but keep an eye out for young hipsters sipping coffee while sitting on milk crates and you're almost there. The entrance is a sharp right off Little William Street, the doorway facing a row of commercial rubbish bins.
This place did not disappoint! It was promoted as the best coffee in Melbourne and that's a tall order when I haven't yet had a bad coffee. That being said. It was well-worth the visit and I'll be returning. The staff was amazing. Super helpful and offered free sparkling water while I waited for my coffee (which took no time at all).
The coffee was great and it's located in a little alley way behind a barber shop. It's a bit hidden so don't despair if you don't immediately see it. You line up outside the windows.
There's also some interesting wall art to check out while you wait.
I'm not that much of a coffee person, but I needed one today, so I had to look up which place had the best coffee in Melbourne CBD, and this place was on the top of the list. They stand by their reviews. ‘Patricia’ coffee was probably the best I’ve had so far. The ambiance, the lovely staff, the coffee, were all an 11 out of 10. There was even a queue when I went. Highly recommended!
Heard positive reviews of their coffee, however, my partner and I preferred their milk based house-blends over their single origin. On a happier note, the staff were exceptional! We arrived quite late in the afternoon and they provided amazing and timely service:)
Worth the hype everyone gives it. I personally love stronger tasting coffees and Patricia met my tastes.
Their staff are extremely lovely. One of the baristas offered to redo my coffee before I even tried it because they didn’t think their steamed milk was done right. They went the extra mile.
Being from Sydney we've been told Melbourne coffee is superior, after coming to this place I will have to agree this is true. The pastries were also amazing, buttery flavour yet not over powering, and the service was super friendly. I am definitely coming back here again when I visit next ♥️.
Still one of my favourite places for coffee. Despite not having any seating (and customers now can’t go inside the shop either, but order out the window), there are always people outside sitting on the ground enjoying their coffees.
The coffee here is really strong, both black and white coffees. The milk coffees are always perfect, never too milky.
We always make sure to buy a bag of beans to take home whenever we stop by.
The baristas and servers are all super friendly here too.
Today, we went to visit a true specialty coffee institution in Melbourne – Patricia Coffee. The menu was simple, yet exquisite: an espresso blend made from two origins – San Vincente from Huila, Colombia 🇨🇴 and Nensebo from Sidamo, Ethiopia 🇪🇹. The filter coffee was a single origin – Kenya 🇰🇪 Gondo from Murang’a county.
During my first weeks in Melbourne, I have already enjoyed many outstanding coffees. Most of them were cultivated and processed by well-known producers. Today, I would enjoy three outstanding coffees, each produced by several hundred smallholders.
While Brett went for the Kenyan filter coffee on ice, I have chosen a magic with the espresso blend from Colombia and Ethiopia, followed by the Kenyan filter coffee. The ice coffee came in a stylish metal hip flask. The fully transparent ice cube 🧊 had smoothened edges and its big size perfectly cooled down the coffee without diluting it. The magic came with a beautiful visual contrast between the coffee and the milk. Taste wise, the espresso cut nicely through the milk, which gave a beautiful smooth texture and a high sweetness.
The filter coffee was clean and sweet. The 560 smallholders from the Kiriti Farmers' Cooperative Society (F.C.S.) have done a terrific job. It is said, they pick the cherries and bring them to the factory that same day for selection and separation, as hand sorting happens before depulping begins. The ripe cherries are processed using fresh water from the local Kananahu stream, and the coffee is then dried under the Kenyan sun on East African drying beds.
It is beautiful to see, that unknown smallholders can produce equally tasty coffee as well-known rock-star producers. A big thank you also to the friendly barista team from Patricia Coffee: they have been very welcoming, and we had a great chat about the workflow in a busy café. That was very insightful. See you soon.
Flat white is amazing, very well-balanced. The filter is actually batch brew.
The staffs are very cute and the service is great. They mixed up my friend’s coffee at first and remake it immediately. We ended up with a full refund with a great coffee.
