In case you if you were looking for an authentic Italian Fine Dine experience, your search ends here. Amazing hosts and spectacular chefs. We had a very warm welcome and a pleasant experience. One of the best Romantic places to visit.
Perfect service, we were served by waitresses who were really nice and attentive. The service was comparable to the three hat restaurants in Melbourne but at a much more affordable price. Food was also amazing - I ordered the scallops, beef tortellini and Semifreddo. Very impressed, I’ll be back.
Highly recommended, last night my girlfriend and I were in this restaurant and I can say it was one of the best experiences we have had. The food, craft beers from Italy, kind staffs.. Everything was incredible unforgettable.
We will definitely go back.
Ps. If oysters are available, you should try a go. The best freshest oysters I've ever had!!!
Extremely impressed with the food and service we received last night.
Our starters were great. The Angasi oysters were amazingly fresh and rich and Vitello tonnato was equally amazing. Char grilled veal was really going well with fried capers and tuna mayo.
We were greatly excited about having Gnocchi and probably it was the best pasta that we’ve ever had. That soft melting texture was out of this world GOOD.. must try!!
The rib eye steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The meat was so incredibly nice and juicy. We loved all the sides coming with steak especially truffled mashed potato was perfect to our taste.
Service was outstanding, the atmosphere was spectacular...Can’t wait to be going there again to try other!!
Thank you so much team Foglia!!
I think they had a few problems in the kitchen and the service was a little awkward in terms of timing, which is the only reason for losing the star. Otherwise the food was pretty good. Happy to recommend their beef tortellini which comes in a delightful rich broth. The wait staff were otherwise very polite and friendly; and were quite apoplectic about the timing problems and gave us all a free glass of wine. Also happy to recommend the McCaren Vale Sangiovese red 😁
This is our ‘local’! The atmosphere was absolutely gorgeous and the food was incredible. Credits to the chef/owner and all the waiters, they make the experience all the more enjoyable. My advice to you.... head down and try the shared dessert platter, it’s to die for!
Talk about being underrated.. Had the pork and beef bolognese and was an absolute winner in all regards, followed by the pork belly just hit the spot! If you want quality food handcrafted by a beastmode chef, get amongst foglia di fico!!! 🤤🤤
Absolute hidden gem! The owner/chef is incredible and clearly has a great team of staff behind him because the service is second to none. The food is unlike anything in Melbourne, Italian with a (better) twist. Please do yourself a favour and come in- you won’t be able to leave without trying a starter, main and dessert!
As most folks may know Foglia di Fico means "leaf of fig" in Italian. Since it replace Il Sole, which was very ordinary, FdiF would have to be an under discovered Italian fine dining restaurants in Melbourne. I have been there 7 times in three months, which indicates how good I think it is. Jerry, the owner is the most unlikely Italian restaurant owner,! he is Korean. Takes a great pride in his food, and he makes the sourdough bread, it is really good and crusty. I always eat too much of it, especially as i prefer butter to oil. Luca his trusty assistant makes sure I am well looked after. The dishes are top quality and the prices are reasonable when you considering the effort the chef makes the delicate pasta in house. The ambiance is such that it makes for a romantic night out. The decor with dark furniture juxtaposed with green glassware and plants is cool , with great nappery as well as so many wines to choose from, it makes decision making a challenge. I totally recommend Jerry and his team

What a fabulous find at this end of Spencer Street. Beautiful food, well presented and great service. The carpaccio of venison was delicious and my son’s eyes lit up when he spotted the rabbit pasta. The Italian merlot was a delicious accompaniment to our meal, no harsh notes and not overpowering.
Ambience: 3.5/5
Food: 4/5
Staff: 4.5/5
Will I return: when I feel like some fresh pasta
Foglia Di Fico isn’t a widely known or popularised restaurant. I think it is because of its location. It is pretty much on the edge of the cbd opposite southern cross station.
We stumbled upon this restaurant as they had a promotion running and amongst a group of 7, everyone left that night with a happy and full tummy.
The owner makes his own fresh pasta daily, hence the pasta itself taste softer. But every pasta dish we had that night tasted great as the flavour of sauce was really fragrant and you can really taste the sweetness of the seafood used in the sauces too.
We ordered two entres to share and the owner was kind enough the split the mussels dish into two for easy sharing which I thought was really thoughtful.
One friend ordered a confit chicken, which was tender and juicy and full of flavour.
The salad we had was awesome too and the salad dressing was on point. Overall a great pasta restaurant with their own freshly made pasta. So if you ever want to try fresh pasta, be sure to try out this restaurant.

What a treat! We came across this restaurant while going to Ed Sheeran’s concert. We indulged in the beef tortellini in broth served with Foglia Di Fico’s made mortadella and the Tagliolini blue swimmer crab. Both were awesome dishes. They weren’t heavy with cream, just enough and brings out the flavours well.
We had the pleasure to meet Jerry Kim, the owner and chef who was kind enough to explain about his concept for the restaurant, how he wants to preserve Italian flavours, freshly made pasta and the ambience he wants to create.
A definite repeat on our list to try out the other dishes
My husband and I visited this joint last Saturday night and we were amazed. The food was excellent, finally an Italian restaurant that serves modern Italian food! The prices are reasonable for the quality you get and the ambience is very nice as well. I got the cappelletti with mozzarella, I will dream of this dish for weeks, it was so good that I can't find the words to describe it. My husband got the tortellini special and he thought it was really nice. My pannacotta was so creamy and delicious and not too sweet. The home made sourdough was excellent and so was the service. The only advice I would give is to stop hovering over the tables and stop asking if the food is good so many times. The owner is really nice and he will take time to answer all your questions if you want to know more about the food.
Food was amazing! We had the fresh fig and smoked ricotta entree, blue swimmer crab broth pasta, meat filled pasta in traditional beef broth, fig leaf milk sorbet. Service top notch, presentation top notch and ambience very cosy. The owner Jerry bakes the sourdough on site everyday before dinner service, it is the best sourdough ciabatta bread I’ve had so far. Thumbs up for the wonderful food, I hope to visit again very soon.
Went there last night everything local and made there! - Ioved the bread and the olive oil. Everyone in my party of 4 was impressed (and we are all frequent diners) , there is nothing up this end of town like it. My inhouse smoked salmon entree was perfectly balanced, squid ink pasta done perfectly with tasmanian mussels - simply delicious. Service was great and attentive when required. Highly Recommended.
We have been here twice now and the food and service has been exceptional. The house made bread and pasta are delicious as our the desserts. Highly recommended especially if you are a local as this is just what West Melbourne needed.
Excellent food and ambiance, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The Chef took the time to make a special sauce for our 12YO to have with some fries, while we enjoyed amazing seasonal meals. Well done, we will return.
This is a new gem. It brings a level of sophistication to food that has not been seen in the west end of the city . For those who have a true appreciation for Italian food- this will not disappoint. The freshly made pasta simply melts in your mouth, and is packed with flavour. The passion with which the meal is prepared, shines through. Excellent service. Highly recommend, will be returning again in the near future.
Definitely my number one favourite Italian restaurants in Melbourne. Every time I come back their food and service do not disappoint me ever. I especially love the duck gnocchi w white truffle which I order every single time I visit. Their pasta spaghetti dishes are always full of flavour (I must say some are more average than other dishes offered here tho-the red fettuccine looking dish in second pic) which I don’t often get in other Italian restaurants. They always offer more complementary bread to finish off the pasta sauce too which I always take (it’s that good!!).
If you’re yet to visit this place YOU MUST TRY!
An amazing restaurant.
Full marks across the board.
Very kind and professional staff. Booked for a birthday with a few requests and it was magnificently executed.
Cuisine was top-notch with a perfectly executed course for both myself and my partner. I had a classic course while my partner had a vegetarian one and we both savoured the dishes to the last bites (see attached pictures).
The wine also went well with the course, adding a silver lining to this excellent gourmet experience.
Ambience was also very cosy with a gentle jazz accompanying the warm interior.
Prices are very reasonable for the experience offered. It was overall a splendid experience which will lead me to come again for sure.
We had a Beautiful dinner at the restaurant. The service was flawless by a Korean lady and our entree was perfect and well balanced. We actually enjoyed it more than the mains. Our seafood filled squid ink pasta was really tasty and the gnocchi was fresh. A few down sides with plating, especially for squid ink pasta. It was flat and not appealing at all… Also The steak we ordered was juicy, but tasted plain and lacked some flavours. However, Despite a few disappointments, Our experience at the restaurant is very positive. We are impressed with exceptional ingredients & fresh pastas were amazing. It is worth a visit. We will come back to try more in the future.
Outstanding authentic Italian cuisine. Master combination of flavors, textures and visuals that all combine to deliver a dining experience that exceeds expectations. The chef guided 5 or 9 course dinner is a wise move to sample more of what’s on offer. Knowledgeable staff highlighted and explained each course expertly. One of Melbourne‘s few restaurants where every item on the menu looks delicious and tempts a return visit. Highly recommended!
Was here for my birthday dinner and had the set 5 course menu
$400+ for 2 people (including added truffle, wine pairing and drinks)
Great for dates or solo dining. Probably not a place for large groups.
The decor of the restaurant was beautiful and cozy.
Staff were friendly and attentive.
Staff were knowledgeable about the food and wine.
The food was absolutely delicious.
Edit: After leaving my inital review, I received a call from the restaurant manager.
He had cleared up some misunderstandings surrounding the night (1. Being around the online booking platform 2. Being my request for truffle to be added to a dish - i thought i had somehow offended the chef but turns out it was quite the opposite. I must say that the truffle complimented the already tasty dish beautifully - I recommend you give it a try too).
I have to say that this restaurant is like no other. They clearly have love and care for the food they cook and serve and just as much love and care for its customers.
I now hope to come back again someday - keep up the good work 👍
Love love love this little gem in the city!
The steak and octopus was definitely one of the best I’ve tasted in Melbourne.
Ever since I moved to Melbourne, I’ve been on the hunt for good steak. I was so disappointed at the pricey and below average steak I’ve had over the past 2 years. From squires loft, Meat & Wine Co, Kisumé… anywhere people say there’s good steak.
But last night, the service, wait times, interior design, the menu, and most importantly- the food! It. blew. my. mind.
And may I add that cocktail serving was generous too! Overall- the best dinning experience I’ve ever had since 2019.
I have already recommended family & friends. Will definitely be back :)
Came here to celebrate our 1st anniversary.
The atmosphere, the service and the food, all 10/10, not even exaggerating!
I can say the 4.9 start review us definitely 100% real!
Will be back for more!
I almost want to write a dismissive review so that this gem of a restaurant stays accessible but how could I? They deserve accolades for their understated perfection.
When I read that this restaurant was so highly rated I was cautious. Would it be pretentious? Outrageously expensive?
It was neither.
I ate the stuffed pasta which was undoubtedly my favourite ever pasta meal. Others in our group had gnocchi options which were also perfection. Dessert was similarly subtle and exquisite.
The decor is quaint and cozy. Service again was attentive yet charming.
Just keep this quiet, please. I want to be able to return and return.
