So happy I've been introduced to this little hidden gem! It's hard to find good vegan deserts around, and Dex2rose have 2 delicious choices on the menu that are cruelty free. Would definitely recommend, I can't wait to eat there again!!
This place has a nice 'new york' cafe vibe, you could comfortably hang out here with your laptop. I had the hot chocolate in the mist, was great, not too sweet. seemed like a great place to take kids, lots of space between tables, will be back. Well done!

Absolutely loved this place! We looked up unique dessert shops in Melbourne as my brother is a baker and cake maker from Tassie and wanted to look at some unique places! Little hard to find as there was a tiny sign up an alley way but once found, a absolutely loved it! Highly recommended!

I was having a bad day when I walked into this Willy Wonka wonderland, and suddenly it was impossible to be anything but happy!! The staff were so lovely, the vibe was fun, and the desserts on offer are mind blowing!!! This is my new happy place :)
Love that it was in a quiet non descript lane way that has to be hunted for. When you enter through the large doors the place is absolutely vibing. Super artistic gelato desserts run by a group of young enterprising dessert artists. Great place to impress a date or an interesting dessert specialist joint. Had the Nutella Floatella and Chendol creation. A bit too sweet - would be perfect if the sugar threshold was dialed down a tad. Recommend.
Ice cream with the added bonus of a bit of theatre, Dex2rose icecream is made with liquid nitrogen and watching the process is quite fascinating. With a cool array of flavours and combinations, the ice cream here really is delicious.
Service is great... quick and efficient, the staff really know what they are doing. The wait can get a bit longer in warm weather as this is when it gets busy; but this delicious treat is worth the wait. I love all the little extras, like syringes filled with sauce, cookies and lollies; they all add a bit of extra fun to the silky smooth icecream. Dex2rose is a great treat for the sweet tooth, especially in the summer months.
Ordered the sticky date banana and it wasn’t great, neither of the names ingredients tasted like the icecream. The banana seems like it may have been the dried ones on top...not sure however wouldn’t recommend it as it was a let down. The apple pie one was sensational though! It had bits of stewed apple through it and a nice hint of cinnamon. Looked great with the cone in it too!
I’m an ice cream fanatic and this place killed it- good flavour and good consistency. Would definitely come back as I want to try their other desserts.

I’ve come here a few times now and found it to be so much fun and interesting. There is something for everyone and highly recommend you take your time when choosing. The decor is great and the place has a real energy about it. Staff are fabulous. Prices are reasonable and the size of the servings is pretty good. The Nutella Floatella was a hit with my friend. I liked the Ruby Smith Sorbet. Dietaries are catered for. Vegetarian and vegans welcome. The place is also available for parties and functions. Wheelchair friendly. Pictures are coming.
The icecream was creamy and smooth, and the flavour combinations were balanced. The unique presentation topped off the experience. Certainly not a place to count out if considering icecream.

Dex2rose has been around for a few years now, and joined in all the fun with the nitrogen gelato craze. However, it has since ventured out into a range of other desserts too. Matcha Crepe Cake – $11.95. Crepe cakes will always have a special place in my heart. I’ve made it a couple of times at home, and it is truly an art getting the same consistently thin crepes each and every time while essentially burning your fingertips.
A friend of mine introduced to this incredible dessert hub and got me hooked to their Nutella magic! Absolutely love coming here for their milkshakes too!
Love their gelato. Ordered their Nutella gelato and didn’t expect anything special but it was so packed with flavours and so dense. The Thai rose milk tea was quite refreshing and the flavours were spot on.
The staff is friendly. It has delicious pancake with a good decoration. But, for me the portion it’s too big. Overall, it’s worth to try and I like it.
Where has this been hiding in Melbourne?! Space was much larger than I thought and we managed to snag a table made from crates before it got crowded.
I got one of their creations, Thai Rose Milk Tea. It reminded me of bubble tea a bit, nice tea flavour and the rose wasn't overly floral. The gelato was real smooth as expected and had great volume. The additions of the condensed milk syringe and crunchy strawberry wafer were not needed, if anything added little to the dessert (other than making it Instagrammable) and detracted from the main attraction by making it more overly sweet than needed. I also got to taste their signature Not Your Granny's Apple Pie, delicious. Loved the hit of cinnamon.
For a regular it was too large for many people to finish by themselves (I did). They've also got other inventive and interactive desserts, that of which I will be sure to revisit and sample.
Charcoal choc chip belgium waffles with meringues, fruits and fairyfloss - drizzled with matcha ganache and strawberry sauce. My favourite waffles of all time! It's crunchy with visible melted choc chip bits inside, not too sweet and is super delicious!
Milk tea crepe slice paired with a milk tea pouring sauce and salted caramel gelato. Layers upon layers of velvelty paper thin crepes interlined with luscious fresh cream. Try to put all these on the fork: take all the layers of the crepe, gelato, popcorn, and fruit then dip it in crumbs - you will experience multiple textures of soft, crunchy, cold, warm and juicy!
This shop is well hided inside the alley. Very hard for first timer to notice this shop. You will easily pass by it. Luckily I have my friend brought me here so I got to try their dessert. Waffle and crepe cake are must try items in this shop. I bet no one will regret order them!
Went with friends for satisfying our sweet tooth over the weekend. The place serves nitrogen based ice-cream with a very good variety of flavors. We tried the nutella flotella, apple pie and lemon meringue flavors. Each of them were unique and tasted good. The apple pie was especially very well done.
The ambience is neat and the staff is very quick. Would definitely recommend a visit to the place.

The nutella floatella is well presented and the gelato is strong and rich in taste.
Was nice, presentation as seen in images in menu, taste was good. Crepes a little more bland and the decoration/toppings were quite sugary tasting, but both together balanced quite well and tasted quite good. Ice cream was delicious. Drinks were wonderful. Setting was aesthetically pleasing. Actually worth the price? Yee, kinda.
We got the Thai Rose Milk Tea and it is perfectly sweet and has a very aromatic flavor. The Gelato is very dense and thick and the portion is very generous. The place is spacious and very comfy and has friendly service. Overall, it is a very great and unique gelato joint although the price was a bit high but would definitely come again to try other flavours!

Hidden in the Racing Club Lane, this place is a good surprise! Apart from the interesting menu they had to offer, I also liked the industrial ambience and quirky lamps! However, the cardboard boxes lying everywhere don’t give a great feel and look!
I had Belgian waffles and mango milk shake and they both were delicious! And would be going next for the glamorous nitro-desserts! :)
The icecream here is amazing! It melts really quickly, so be sure to eat it fast. This place is off a lane, which looks quite dodgy at night, but I promise you, the inside of Dex2rose is definitely not scary! The place is always alive with people. The furniture is really creative; there are benches, upturned milk crates, you name it!
I recommend the "Not so granny apple pie" gelato- the cinnamon hint is amazing! Their signature, and very pretty charcoal chocolate waffles taste ordinary. They definitely look super Instagrammable though! Try it out for yourself :)
The price of this place is quite reasonable, considering the taste and presentation of the items. It's definitely one of my favourite dessert places.
My favorite dessert place. The desserts are unique and they all taste so good. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, perfect for a place to hang out with your friends. I like trying something new here everytime. Love that it is in such a hidden little spot too.
Nitrogen ice cream seems to be rather popular in Melbourne regardless of its notorious weather. We had just finished dinner and one fellow Kiwi presented the idea of pursuing some Nitrogen ice cream. Dexdose was then recommended by a native Melbournian and off we went!
Full disclosure we totally did get confused on our quest to find Dexdose and we did end up having to ask one of the locals to point us towards where Dexdose is. Arriving I was surprised at how packed out it was. There was a queue and the place was stuffed that we struggled to get a seat. In fairness though the staff were awesome as when it was our turn to put our orders in the server took his time with us as we asked different questions. It did take around 15 minutes to get our order but with the backlog of orders that want a surprise.
I opted for a more classic Apple Crumble inspired choice and my friend went with a Maple themed option.
Cool dessert space and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Popped by this place for a visit because i was keen to try the ‘mist in the woods’. It is not on the main menu, but written on the board. Prices here are average. They have a decent amount of seating.
The mist in the woods is basically a hot chocolate with ice cream and some berries on a spoon. There is also a fire pot for you to roast your marshmallows. They give you an instruction to follow - which is not helpful/clear. The hot chocolate was delicious, despite the amount of cinnamon - thank goodness it was not strong cinnamon.
The matcha milkshake was average, starbucks would probably do a better one. The mango and passionfruit was good! Not too sweet and not too bland.
The ordering and handing out orders was very unorganised though. They probably need a better system. They take your order + ask for your name and give you a receipt. When its time they will come find you and keep calling out your name. The place was extremely packed - as they do open till quite late - and it seemed like it was a quite difficult to hand out people’s orders.
Nonetheless, definitely a good experience. Not sure if i would try again though.
Had the charcoal waffles and the mango sorbet and they were superb. The waffle is a must. The mango sorbet is ok, but a bit towards the sweet side. The waffles is great with the red velvet I cream and chocolate sauce. Would definitely come back for the waffles
Great little hidden place located in the cbd, pretty hidden but eventually found this place while pushing a pram. Came here mainly for my son which he really enjoyed the dragons breath we had the matcha green tea layer cake was served with a big scoop of ice cream and season fruits that made the plate look pretty and also the ice mocha overall layer cake was really nice and ice cream was nice and creamy but iced mocha needed more ice was pretty warm once I had received it great little touch with them out your mouth torched marshmallow. Would come again
Dex2Rose was one of my favourite dessert places; they had a rather large selection of delicious, stunningly presented nitrogen gelatos, waffles and crepe cakes, and they were always open until quite late so they were a great option to satisfy your late night sweet cravings. If you were seated in front by the counter, you’d also be able to watch your gelato being made which was quite fun. Stationed in a wooden-themed venue, Dex2rose was cosy and warm despite cold winter nights!
I’ve been here a few times now as it’s one of fav dessert places in Melbourne. Hidden down one of the alleyways you will find an unpretentious set up who make some of the best gelato around. My go to flavour is the Malteser but the cookies n cream and earl grey is pretty good too however I find the twix bar on the earl grey too much. I tried the misty wood hot choc just for the Instagram pic and I was abit disappointed with the flavours which don’t quite work well and was too much going on. The homemade marshmallow was heavenly toasted and the hot choc was good so they should have stopped there. The caramel gelato and the berries that it comes with made for an unusual combination. Warning this is a very popular place so you may have to wait for a table and they take awhile to clean the tables.

I think the Mist In The Woods is pretty awesome. It's creative, it's fun and it puts on a nice show. However, I was underwhelmed by its flavours. And yes, I think it's also a bit overpriced. I personally think it's the kind of thing you order once for the experience but not again. The gelatos were also average. Big portion for the gelatos though.
This place was so amazing. The decorations were pretty impressive. I like there ice cream and one thing make me feel good is their ambience . The staff was so friendly
Not the greatest Gelati I’ve ever had, but still pretty good. Located in a back alley, it has a really good, comfy atmosphere. There are many flavours to choose from and it really seemed there was something for everyone. Service was friendly, and tables were fairly clean.

Based on the location, I did not expect it to be good. But in fact, it was so yummy with a quite generous portion.
Have been craving for Crepe and my friend from America told me they saw this place on Insta. We went quite late at night and the most popular items are all sold out. Lucky theres still some milk tea crepe left and my friend ordered the hot chocolate with marshmallow and the nitrogen thing. Quite an experience taste was nothing too different from a normal hot chocolate tho lol.
😱Lizzie’s first impression: this place is off a little laneways on little Collins so it was quite secluded but busy on a sat night. Love the concept of the milk crate chairs.
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: The crepe cakes were really yummy - we tried the green tea and the milk tea one. I loved the caramel popcorn topping.

We were craving for desserts and didn’t want to brave the cold hence we turned to UberEats. I must say that I was very pleased that everything arrived very nicely packaged, especially the crepe cakes and their toppings. Tried all three of their crepe cakes and my favourite would definitely be the milk tea. The taste of milk tea was very prominent, light, pillowy and wasn’t too sweet. Wouldn’t recommend the marshmallow topping for delivery as it was blow torched, so when it arrived the texture was a little off, being weirdly cold and mushy. Gelato was just alright, many of their interesting flavours weren’t available.
Salient features: For the times you’ve had dinner, aren’t ready to go home yet but don’t feel like drinking, and just want a cosy spot to have some dessert and chatter away ’til late. Scope of discovery: Not your Granny’s apple pie, Charcoal Belgian waffles. Verdict: We’re incredibly spoilt for choice when it comes to gelato in Melbourne and it can be incredibly tough standing out in a crowd that includes the likes of Primavera and Pidapipo. Dex2Rose does stand out though, and not just for the nitrogen.

One of my favourite dessert places hidden in a laneway. I tasted both the matcha and milk tea crepe cakes. Both were so good that I couldn’t decide on which one was my favourite out of the two. They were beautifully presented .
We had an early dinner so we easily got a table for dessert at this place . After 8.30pm, it got a bit hectic so that’s a clear indication that they are doing very well.

Came back to Dex2rose Nitrogen Gelato for dessert. Had the mixed berry Belgium waffle, with dark chocolate & red velvet ice cream. Also ordered the salted caramel latte. The waffle dish was huge but too sweet for my liking. The salted caramel latte tasted like a normal latte but with salted caramel topping.
I paid 8.95 for my Big O Cheesecake. Even though it was a small size, they really packed a lot into it! Especially with the thick shake! It really was thick! I loved the atmosphere too! Good vibes! I think I might introduce my mates here next time.

One look at a dessert plate form Dex2rose and it is easy to say that they plate some of the prettiest sweet treats in Melbourne.
We visited Dex2Rose to try out the amazing Chocolate Nutella crepe cake which is served with gelato and crumble with a generous drizzle of syrup and edible flowers. The crepe cake was light and airy and Nutella just made it even more decadent. I loved the relatively simple gelato on the side which almost acted like a palate cleanser from the ooey gooey-ness of the crepe cake.
We returned two more times to try the Milk Tea crepe cake and the Matcha crepe cake. We both loved the Milk Tea cake most. Also, we always paired the cakes with a side of nitro brew cold coffee - the bitterness seemed to go well the cake's flavour profile. Overall, cakes have an excellent flavour although they do fall apart pretty quickly after the first bite.
Finally, I loved the cute decor and quotes all around the store - and the music was happy and upbeat. Recommended for anyone looking to try out crepe cakes for the first time (like us).At a price point of $10 plus change per cake and $6 for the cold brew coffee, we think its good value for money for a late night treat with friends or that special someone!
I liked Dex2Rose a lot when I first went there last year. Their waffle dessert was really cute. This time I tried the gelato. It was really difficult choosing an item from their menu since their menu had recently changed so if I wanted the Unicorn Party gelato for example I couldn’t get it. In the end I asked for what their new flavours are. They are Oreo Cheesecake and Death By Chocolate. There was a third flavour but I can’t remember it unfortunately. I ended up choosing the Oreo Cheesecake. It was really cute! A bit difficult to eat though, the gelato was a bit harder than usual yet it still melted quite quickly. My friend got the Nutella one. Looks so cute! I like how they add the Nutella jar on it! At first you wonder how they did that so it’s fun to watch them make the gelato.
One word of advice, update your paper menus so people know what is available to order. Customers are not going to try your new flavours if they don’t know they exist!
Dex2rose is that gem you accidentally stumble upon if you’re lucky. The place had a very laid back vibe and the service was 10/10. Would recommend for a quick dessert for a good experience with good vibes.
The matcha crepe cake was lovely but honestly couldn’t really taste the matcha though. Thumbs up for presentation. At first I thought the portion was a bit small, but the price isn’t steep and I couldn’t finish it anyway because near the end you feel like there is an overload of cream. The little bit and pieces on the plate go really well together, I was a big fan of the crumble and I was glad to have the scoop of gelato. I recommend sharing this with someone and maybe get some gelato because I was left wanting more.
Staff at the counter wasn’t necessarily the best choice to front such a fun place! She seemed gloomy..

Stunning is the word that describes pretty much everything Dex2Rose has to offer on their menu. I came here on a Friday night so it was pretty crowded, the lines were prompt and the service was pretty cheerful. After trying other nitrogen gelato stores such as N2 and Nitrolab, I reckon Dex2Rose is probably my favourite.
We ordered the UNICORN FRAPPE & BIG O' CHEESECAKE. We attended the Dex2Rose at Highpoint but leaving a review here. The frappe was awesome, the pearls on top weren't just decorative. They gave the taro frappe extra flavour. The ice cream was full of flavour, love the chocolate syringe. Dex2Rose are always very creative which is not only satisfying for the eye, also for the tummy. Definitely a great spot.

I really was excited about coming to eat here. The pictures I saw on social media was amazing. In the end, they did turn out looking as good as the photos, however, the flavour department was lacking a little. The waffles were ok and nothing too special. The milk tea favoured crepe cake really was different from my expectation. I am not sure how to describe it but it was a turnoff for the dessert's overall taste.
Beautifully presented desserts for sweet tooth out there... the Belgian waffle was crunchy on the outside so perfectly matched with dark choco sauce and raspberry gelato ... and you should also try their deconstruct apple pie 👍
This place is awesome! Love the theatrics with the nitrogen - definitely better then Nitrogen Lab by far! If only it was located in a more convenient location... but will be back if I'm around that side of the CBD.
Seriously amazing ice cream!!!!
The coldest ice cream I have had, and extremely fresh to taste. We were a large group, and the staff took our order very patiently and delivered amazing salted caramel (perfectly balanced) and rich chocolate. The Mangi ice cream was also great. He servings are generous and the atmosphere very simple and effective.

Came here for the first time with a group of seven for my birthday. Actually had this place bookmarked for ages, but never really knew where it was. They say that the best places are always hidden - can confirm. We tried the gelato/ice-cream, the crepes and the waffles, and we all left feeling so full and satisfied. My favourite were the waffles as they were so light and fluffy, and not too sweet (so it wasn't sickening at all). I enjoyed this place so much that I came back only a couple of days later since it exceeded my expectations! Dex2rose definitely earned its place in one of my top favourite places to grab dessert (it's also so pretty, which is a bonus). Will definitely come back soon to try the other flavours of gelato.
I found dex2rose on Instagram and was not disappointed when I came in. The interior of the place was beautiful and very Instagram worthy! The food wasn't exceptionally delicious but it definitely wasn't bad either. The presentation of the food made up for the taste and I will definitely be coming back to try the other gelato flavours. I recommend this place to those wanting a good place to take photos at. Food is great too but there's places that are better.
They're very friendly and I like their Milk Tea Crepe Cake! It's so nice especially it comes with a gelato and they just go well together! Will surely try out their Nutella gelato next time
I love the concept of the deconstructed ice cream. When I arrived there, the setting was completely different to what I have seen. The Apple pie gelato was delicious and I would love to try the other flavours 😁

Great service. Interesting design despite wasn't my kind of taste. But loved their charcoal waffles.
Wasn't too expensive, it was pretty affordable nevertheless. Followed on their instagram to grab a dollar off however.
Hidden away in an alleyway, this little hipstery joint is so cute and cozy. They don't have a large menu and some of their special gelato can be a bit steep in pricing but they do look incredibly beautiful and a lot of effort to make. They make your order in front of you. I saw at least 4 gelato being crafted before my eyes whilst waiting for my own. We ordered the matcha and Nutella crepes cakes. The Nutella one was bursting with flavour and matched the little sides like popcorn, fruit and ginger biscuit crumb well. The matcha one was subtle in flavour and didn't match the ginger biscuit crumbs, fruit or popcorn. The vanilla gelato was really good. So smooth and rich. Such a good hang out spot. I highly recommend.

On the expensive side: $9 however you will never leave here hungry, i was ready to sleep😴 i was so full.
They also have coffees, waffles and EXTREMELY THIN crepes!

Matcha crepe cake was delicious but the dragon breath wasnt cold enough and was kind of disappointing.
Friend got the mist in the woods hot chocolate and it was interesting and they seemed to like it too.
Will come back for cake and ice cream but not dragon breath.
Also Nice place to chill out with friends.
came here with friends and we decided to try out the crepe cake and belgian waffles that were recommended by a friend.
we shared a nutella crepe cake that was served with a scoop of chocolate gelato. the chocolate gelato wasn't too sweet, the fruits and the popcorn balanced the dessert out.
however, we didn't enjoy the the charcoal chocolate chip belgium waffles as much as we thought we would. some of us felt the flavours of the matcha pouring ganache didn't complement the waffles and the mango sorbet gelato as much.
service was quick and helpful, but one of the gelato flavour was unavailable so we had to select another flavour instead. ambience was very cosy, a great place to catch up with friends over some desserts!
