Good coffee & great pork belly breakfast burger to die for. Very reasonable prices and fantastic staff.
Parking is a bit hard, but well worth the effort to get there.
Amazing food and the staff were fantastic. Coffee was served to me very quickly and was delicious. Would highly recommend breakfast here

Amazing place great food awesome staff so helpful :) next time we down from gold coast we will go there again for sure. Thanks for making my coffees with rice milk xx
would usually get a savoury for brunch. but, the pancakes with mascarpone was too good to pass up. coffee was also good. thanks for the lazy sunday
Fabulous service, delicious coffee and I thoroughly enjoyed the roasted eggplant that was recommended to me when I couldn’t decide. Would come back!
Great spot. Fast service. Beautiful food presentation. Free wifi and power.
Fantastic coffee...best in South Yarra cafes and definitely one of the best in the city itself.
The food is great too with again, one of the best cafe ambience in Melbourne.
It is by far our most preferred spot for a weekend brunch...and will continue to be so for a foreseeable future :-)
Great food, even better coffee! Friendly staff, I'll be back.
Really nice quality food and relax, thank you.
Two birds one stone ... it was an absolute pleasure to visit you this weekend ❤️ You wonderful food and fantastic staff made our eating experience so enjoyable 😍💓 The food was truly AMAZING 💜💜💜 be sure to stop by and try there hotcakes... they’re to die for 🙈
Twice Cooked Brioche French Toast
🏚: Two Birds One Stone
📍: South Yarra, Melbourne, Australia
Such beautiful presentation and a taste not too overly sweet. A great dessert dish. We also got the Breakfast Board, which was, according to my brother, very delicious as well.
I’d been meaning to try Two birds one stone for a while and when I finally did it wasn’t disappointing.
There are a number of delicious dishes on the menu for brunch and lunch alike.
Generous servings, well presented too and the chi tea is lovely.
This place is so cute and had beautiful interior! The staff as so friendly and the service is amazing. The soba noodles was really nice and there was a generous amount of noodles provided and the tofu was cooked and seasoned beautifully! The portition size was very filling and worth the $18. The pistachios added nice crunch to this dish, giving it some more texture. There was a nice variety of vegetables however it would have been nice to get a few more of them. The eggplant dish was devine! so many textures and flavours and it looked so vibrant too! the salad itself had so many elements that all worked so well together and was beautifully seasoned. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and worked so well with the salad on top. The hummus was such a beautiful colour and tasted stunning too! The pancakes were so light and fluffy!! there was so many different elements on the dish and they all work in conjunction with eachother. The pancakes were generous as well as the toppings and additions. The mascapone was amazing to cut through the sweetness of the dish and the fruit added really nice freshness. The rhubarb and raspberry compote was tart but sweet at the same time which worked really well with the sweet pancakes. It would have been nice to get a few more pistachios or something else crispy to add some more crunch to the dish. The potato rosti were so so crispy and flavourful and the drink were Delish and refreshing! A must try cafe!!
A place for brunch. You've got the city buzzign vibe going here which is pleasant. Got ourselves coffee and then two salmon dishes with an add on bacon. The food took a long time to come in however and it wasn't great.
The salmon was quite nice with the addition of sun-dried tomatoes. My salmon was as boring as it looks. I asked our server about the add-on and he mentioned that it had been billed, but he took that off and also the drinks as he had noticed that we stayed long for our food. So three cheers for him and I'd probably give them another chance to prove their worth.

Amongst the construction in South Yarra lies little bustling cafe called Two Birds One Stone (such a cute name don’t you think?). Many people pop in and out for some coffees and others will wait for a table. We walked in on Sunday morning and boy was it busy. There were people everywhere, staff running around and the sound of coffee being frantically made. We got a table and you know the rules, first we coffee.
We had an awesome brunch on Christmas Eve. French toast and pancakes were enormous, beautifully presented and delicious, eggs Benedict hit the spot, with the ham hock not being overly salted. A great Melbourne experience foodie experience.
Two Birds One Stone has earned itself a fantastic reputation in it's years as one of South Yarra's best cafes, and for very good reason. This beautiful cafe prides itself on it's vibrant dishes, fantastic coffee and friendly service.
The large space has lots of natural light, modern wooden furnishings and cool light fixtures. Touches of greenery add a fresh feel to the space, and it's a comfortable place to dine. The cafe was bustling on a Monday morning, proving it's popularity with locals and nearby workers.
Starting with the fabulous coffee, we also tried a delicious cold brew that went down a treat on a hot day. We decided to start with the daily special, which was a breakfast board laden with an abundance of delicious treats. Thick cut bacon, boiled egg and soldiers, salmon croquettes, grilled chorizo, spinach and avocado salad, and a mini coconut chia pudding. What an amazing spread, with a great balance of flavours. It's been ages since I've had a simple boiled egg and toast soldiers, and I had forgotten how yummy they are. The bacon and chorizo was delicious with their salty and oily flavours, and the salmon croquettes were crispy and seasoned perfectly. The chia pudding was a fabulous touch of sweetness to finish the board with.
Not to be outdone, I had to try the twice cooked French toast and I'm so glad that I did. This dish is basically fried bread pudding and is divine. Two large slabs of fried egg soaked brioche pudding, served with banana, berries and chocolate syrup. A delicious biscuit crumb added some crunch, and the consistency and flavour of the toast was amazing. So different to the usual style of French toast, but definitely a winner.
There are so many other amazing dishes on the menu, and with such friendly staff and a fabulous ambience; I can't wait to revisit Two Birds One Stone to try them.

We had a great brunch experience at Two Birds One Stone! The atmosphere is great, service was awesome, and I was super impressed with all the vegan options available!
I tried a the Soba Noodle Salad, which was served with some of the tastiest tofu! The noodles were so flavourful too. Such a refreshing and filling dish! I also tried some of the Chia Pudding. Loved the passionfruit and mango flavours. Another light and refreshing breaky dish!
There were plenty of other varied options on the menu for vegans and non-vegans alike. Would definitely go back!
With its friendly staff, drool worthy menu and excellent coffee, it’s no surprise that Two Birds One Stone is bustling to the brim on a Saturday morning. Two Birds’ menu embraces the Instagram age with items such as ricotta pancakes with rhubarb and raspberry compote, vanilla mascarpone, seasonal fruit and toasted pistachio ($18.50), while still staying true to classics such as eggs your way on toast ($11). Long blacks are served with sparkling water (as they should be) and staff are quick to ask whether you’d like another coffee (when is one ever enough on a Saturday morning?) The baked eggs with chorizo, capsicum, feta and olives with warm crispy pita ($23) are an excellent choice - especially if it’s a cold Wintery Melbourne day. The sautéed mixed mushrooms with cauliflower, kale and goats cheese ($23) are another excellent choice - especially for all those mushie lovers out there. A delicious brunch spot that ticks all the boxes - Two Birds One Stone is definitely on my recommendation list to check out soon. Food: 4/5
I was highly eager to sample the Twice Cooked Brioche French Toast. Presented in two thick pieces, the mixture permeated throughout the entire brioche creating a moist and smooth pastey texture. As the toast was rather mild, the addition of vanilla anglaise and chocolate sauce served to heighten the sweetness, with macadamia nut praline offering a contrasting nutty flavour. It was definitely a unique take on french toast, however I would like to see more juicy fruit pieces or ice cream/fresh cream to give that refreshing feel.
This cafe just off Toorak Road in Claremont Street is a gem. The cafe is really well designed with some well considered seating options.
To start I had a strong almond latte which was delicious. The waiter warned me that coffee would split but that didn’t change the flavour and it made a great photo lol.
I then ordered a fresh pink grapefruit juice and whoa it was so fresh it almost brought tears to my eyes hahaha
Food wise I ordered a Breakfast Board Special which was amazing! It had salmon croquettes, the BEST thick cut bacon, chorizo, a feta, avocado and kale salad, a mini chia pudding, and a soft boiled egg w soldiers lol.
This was a perfect meal. All the food was delicious, the soft boiled egg was fantastic and the soldiers such fun. The kale was by far the best I’ve ever eaten, Ir was soft and it worked so well with the feta. It was really delicious.
The salmon croquettes were crispy and soft in the middle, tick, tick!
My partner had a Middle Eastern inspired Shakshuka w chorizo, capsicum, zucchini, hazelnuts, dukkah, black olives, feta, perfectly cooked poached eggs, and pita bread. This was a great dish, and everything worked so well together.
We both had a fantastic time at this cafe and we are definitely going back. Thanks to the owner for the invitation to visit.
This past weekend in Melbourne was perfect for brunching. After a rainy week, we finally got some sunshine, and so I was keen to go on a big walk and indulge in something deliciously calorific. Two birds one stone...
With all the construction going on down Claremont street so we didn’t know what to expect when we turned up at 9:30am on a Sunday morning. Clearly the street was a ghost town because everyone was packed into Two Birds One Stone.
A great atmosphere and we were quickly seated and set up with a couple of lattes, while we perused the exciting menu and soaked up the vibe.
We opted for the house made seedy granola, the salmon with quinoa and pea salad and the twice cooked French toast brioche.
The granola can only be described as summer in a bowl, delicious and crunchy with sweet strawberries, tangy mango, grapes and a clever banana cocoyo combo completed with a sprinkling of lemon balm, yummmm.
The crispy skinned salmon was accompanied by a subtle wasabi puree that was a fabulous choice of flavour to bring this whole dish together. It was the perfect fit for the pea and quinoa salad and the OMG to die for potato rostis.
The brioche French toast was the perfect dish to share, it was rich and dense, much like a bread and butter pudding. I enjoyed the delicious combination of vanilla, chocolate and banana.
Exceptional Sunday brunch. Thanks to Two Birds One Stone for their hospitality.
Recently we went down to the Two Birds One Stone Café, which is located really close to South Yarra station to try out some of their dishes:⠀
⠀
🥞 Ricotta Pancakes with Rhubarb and Raspberry Compote - I absolutely loved this! It wasn’t too sweet and the sourness from the berry compote wasn’t too overpowering. The flavours were so well balanced! The grapes also added a burst of sweetness which provided a different texture from the fluffy pancakes!
🍣 Citrus Cured Pan Seared Salmon - This dish was so satisfying! The salmon was cooked perfectly and the skin was crispy. I also loved the potato rosti, which was really crispy, but you can pull it apart easily to reveal the filling on the inside.
🍳 Crab Omelette with Salmon Cavier - I only took a bite because it was my friend’s dish, but I absolutely loved the texture of the egg, and the tomato really gave that burst of flavour. The crab meat on the top was also really tender.
☕️ Mocha⠀
☕️ Chai Latte - One of the best Chai Latte’s I’ve had. The spices were not too strong, and you can pour it through a strainer provided! It was really good, no added sugar required! I could go for multiple glasses of this!
The staff were lovely, they helped us when we were taking the photo, and we felt very welcomed! Would definitely go back again.
I have to say the food especially the French toast is really delicious, love it, very soft inside with chocolate and fruit at outside! Recommend👍 latte is good but the service :( come here by myself and the staff keep ignoring me more than 5 mins( don’t allow come along? ) secondly, I just have a rest and still want to finish the 1/3 toast the staff take it away since she probably think I’m playing the phone and don’t want to keep eating??? Terrible service! Overall 4.5/5 is max.
4.5. The cafe is situated in South Yarra, and very convenient as it was a short walk from the train station. The modern looking cafe has pretty down lights and mini private table booths along the wall, as well as a big communal table in the middle - which is perfect for friends catching up whether it's a small or large group.
We started off with a chai latte and a mocha. The mocha was on point - the balance of the coffee and chocolate is awesome, it tastes great even after all my photo taking (and it being cold).
For the food, we ordered:
RICOTTA PANCAKES - with rhubarb and raspberry compote, vanilla mascarpone, seasonal fruit and toasted pistachio. OMG I love this dish! The pancakes were not too dense, very fluffy and it matched so perfectly with the rhubarb and raspberry compote and vanilla mascarpone. I almost ate more than half and I was meant to be sharing this dessert with my foodie friend!
CRAB OMELETTE - with salmon caviar, caper berries, sun dried tomatoes, onion jam and a piece of toast. This looked impressive - a huge spread of the omelette across the sourdough. However, the sourdough was a bit chewy on the edges and not as toasted. You can taste/see the crab on the omelette, but it was a bit under seasoned.
CITRUS CURED PAN SEARED SALMON - with quinoa and green peas salad, potato rosti, a poached egg with peas and wasabi puree - The salmon was cooked perfectly and the skin was very crispy on top. The salad was great with the potato rosti.
Thank you for the awesome breakfast, Two Birds One Stone.

Been meaning to try this cafe for awhile now
Service: were quite welcoming though we were overlooked a few times due to the busy crowd
Drinks: Loved their soy latte, very frothy (hard to do with plant based milks) and had had a good milk to coffee ratio
Food:
had the salmon croquettes special and it was very tasty. The croquettes were not oily and there was a good amount of seasoning in the veggie galore.
French toast was my favorite dish. The brioche itself was cooked well, light but was full of flavor. Loved the sauce and dried fruit toppings on the dish, really complimented the dish well.
Overall a good cafe for a nice brunch. Just beware of busy crowds as they can get very crowded both weekends and weekday mornings.
Great food and ambiance. Highly recommend this place.
Absolutely love Two Birds One Stone in South Yarra. It does get busy at times so I'd recommend booking in advance. The staff are very friendly and our order came out quickly.
I had the Ricotta Pancakes which I'd rate a 5/5. The rhubarb and raspberry compote, vanilla mascarpone, fresh fruit and pistachios all complemented the fluffy pancakes very nicely without being overly sweet. I could order these pancakes any time, they're delicious.
My friend ordered the Twice cooked brioche French Toast which she thoroughly enjoyed also.
Overall, it's worth a visit! I had my eye on the Wagyu Beef Burger so will be back for that next time.
This is a fantastic brunch spot. Always busy, always vibey - hot coffee, delicious food. A solid option!
The most unique french toast texture I’ve ever tried 🤭
FOOD: I ordered the Twice Cooked Brioche French Toast as it is dubbed one of Melbourne’s very best! I can’t tell if I love it or not but I think it’s safe to say it is good! In terms of flavour, its amazing! The combination is simple but also done well so the bananas, chocolate sauce and anglaise compliment the french toast and macadamia praline but what is confusing me is the french toast texture. Now I don’t know what ‘twice cooked’ means exactly but from my opinion, it tastes almost... pudding-like? If that makes sense? HAHAHAH it didn’t taste like bread anymore?? Don’t get me wrong, it still had that amazing french toast but it tasted like a pudding, like undercooked bread so... I’m not sure if I love it but it is a very special texture and flavour!
SERVICE: Service is pleasant and friendly!
Situated in chic South Yarra, Two Birds One Stone is a beautiful cafe. It’s abit small but it’s lovely for just chilling and relaxing! If you want to try something abit different from a regular french toast but still want french toast, don’t hesitate giving TBOS a try! Also, the portion is humongous so its definitely worth it!
Nice cafe, with solid food and coffee. There's not much to fault, but there's a lot of really good cafes in Melbourne, so it can seem a bit of the same thing. Having said that, it's still excellent, and would definitely return.
Communal table brunches with poached goodies and a side of tomato relish!
'Two Birds Breakfast' Breaky with the LOT! Scrambled eggs + blistered cherry tomatoes + sautéed mushrooms + bacon + spinach + avocado + chipolata & halloumi 👏👏👏 delish, satisfying and VERY filling. Hit the spot 8/10 #breakfast #melbourne #cafe #yummy
I have always wanted to go here! It was everything I had hoped for and more. A great looking cafe so well styled and cosy. Lovely attentive staff and of course a great menu that delivered well. Up there as one of my favourite cafes for brunch. **Disclaimer: although the restaurant has generously invited me to their restaurant this review is still based on my genuine opinion.
Absolutely love this cafe. Great food, excellent coffee and a great vibe to the place. We came in for brunch on a Sunday. The cafe was busy but staff were super friendly and attentive.
It was hard to choose from their extensive menu as everything sounded delicious. In the end, I ordered the Shakshuka; which was a perfect winter warmer dish with two perfectly poached eggs, chorizo, zucchini, capsicum, feta and more. The pita bread was perfect for wiping the dish clean.
My husband ordered the The Wagyu beef burger which he loved. Decent in size and the patty was nice and juicy. It came with a side of delicious crunchy wedges.
Overall, delicious food, friendly service and 10/10 coffee. Can’t wait to go back!
Great service and cosy setting. The booths are really nice for brunch with friends. Tried the crab omelet and twice cooked pork belly. Both were quite tasty, the pork seemed a bit overpriced for the portion. Coffees were good
By far the best smashed avo in South Yarra! Great coffee and lovely staff too - wild highly recommend. Add a side of haloumi for the perfect dish!
I’ve been here ages ago and wasn’t too big a fan, but since then the menu has changed and boy it was amazing. The ricotta hot cakes were so deliciously balanced and fluffy, not too heavy for a sweet dish! The pork belly was also so soft, breaking apart so easily! The puree and sauce was flavoursome and was such a great addition to the pork. It was all together a fantastic dining experience.
We had the great pleasure of being invited to Two Birds one Stone today for an absolutely exceptional brunch. I ordered the smashed avocado and added marinated feta and it was truly the most stunning rendition I’ve ever seen not to mention utterly delicious.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the ricotta pancakes with rhubarb and raspberry compote. I almost opted for the waffle special and I’m so glad I got to experience these pancakes as they were honestly just so flavoursome and perfectly well balanced. The toppings were the ultimate accompaniment to the fluffiest of pancakes. A phenomenal experience
Original review
Two birds one stone were the creators of my favourite breakfast in Melbourne until one dire day it was removed from the menu. The still have a home made banana bread option but it's done with a coffee marscapone and walnuts rather than stone fruit and pistachios. Either way presentation at this place is everything.
They have been opened for a good four years now which is forever in brunch time and is owned by the same team as Three Bags Full and Liar Liar (those who make my favourite savoury breakfast in all of Melbourne the baked eggs) so you absolutely can't go wrong. Be prepared to wait on the weekend (you can always hit the delicious cake cabinet in the meantime)

Great food, great coffee and great vibes at Two Birds One Stone. We got the Eggs Benedict (with rolled ham hock, pickled lentils, beetroot purée and Bearnaise) and the Ricotta Pancakes (with rhubarb & raspberry compote, vanilla mascarpone, seasonal fruit and toasted pistachios). The pancakes were really light, fluffy, and had a great flavour combo. The Eggs Benedict was absolutely delectable. Loved the ham hock and the beetroot purée with it. Brilliant brunch spot!
Lived up to the hype. The French toast was dense, not too sweet, and balanced out by the banana, chocolate sauce and praline. The Eggs Benedict - toast was crisp, poached eggs were delicious, beetroot purée and hollandaise sauce were a very good match. Really lovely staff as well, had a great time :)

We visited Two Birds One Stone on Saturday. The cafe was quite busy. We love the vibes of this place, the interior is lovely too. We ordered 2 sweet dishes which were ricotta pancake and twice cooked brioche french toast. The pancake was so amazing, fluffy just a great combination of raspberry compote, vanilla mascapone and everything. Love it !
Upon arrival there were no tables for the 4 of us. However, a table of 2 has just been put onto a table of 4. The lovely waitress politely asked the table of 2 to move to a smaller table which they did happily. I was super impressed with this as it showed customer service was already a 10/10.
We ordered:
Mushrooms on toast
The lamb sliders
Chia pudding
Duck salad
All the dishes were of a good portion size. I had the mushrooms on toast and the only problem I had was that the toast had been buttered so much it literally fell apart. It was far too soggy. But apart from that it was really tasty and enjoyed it.
All meals were enjoyed and finished.
A great place in South Yarra with a wide menu, good location and quality staff.
8/10
One of my most favorite place to eat for brunch! The food is delicious and very good in terms of presentation. The service was so smooth. The dishes were presented so well it was almost too pretty to eat. Very friendly and efficient staff and gorgeous egg benedict. Great place for breakfast or brunch. Highly recommend.
A popular choice amongst locals for brunch, there was a small wait when we first arrived. They were so accommodating to shift us inside once a space became available, so happily we were spared the wind and construction noise.
From a diverse menu we chose The Breakfast, Confit Duck Salad and Citrus Cured Salmon. Fresh, wholesome ingredients in each dish catered for the health conscious and discerning tastebuds in our small group. Generous portion sizes meant we left with very full bellies.
Friendly and attentive service throughout and the orders arrived in good time. With so much construction going on in the street, it's more pleasant to enjoy the modern setting inside. This is a return visit for us and probably not the last.
The service is a bit confusing. We love the vibe though. It’s a very chill and relaxing place, unfortunately the construction nearby ruined it a bit. We ordered a flat white, chai latte, french toast and tofu salad. The food is okay. There’s not much flavour in my tofu salad and the tofu is really salty to my palette. The chai latte is the most disappointing drink and it ruined everything for me.
One of my most favourite place to eat for Brunch. The food is super delicious and very preety in terms of their presentation. The staff was super kind and super responsive.
What a fantastic cafe. Absolutely lived up to it’s hype. The service was attentive and friendly, the dishes were presented to well it was almost too pretty to eat! But most importantly, the food tasted so good! The smashed avo in particular, had a crumble on top which added some excellent texture! Not to mention some perfectly poached eggs. Can’t wait to return!
Second time here, ordered Salmon again, this time the portion is considerably smaller..first time two potato rusti, now only one. Also cauliflower is changed to some kale salad...just glad the salad tasted fine. Inanimate waitress, just not a very pleasant experience the second time back...
Very friendly and efficient staff and gorgeous egg benedict. Great place for breakfast or brunch, relaxed atmosphere & various seating options. Highly recommend. 👌
Nice coffee, the waffle is prefect🥰, crispy outside and very soft inside , not too sweet😋 (that’s what I love), I love this place so much , used to have so many good memories there😔
Met a friend for breakfast this morning without the small person this time. The food was amazing and the portions very generous but we managed to get through them. It was busy at 9am in a Sunday morning but the staff were very attentive. I’m not south of the yarra very often but this was well worth the trip.
Good breakfast, perfect table for a meeting, cool staff! Quiet if you have work to do.
Ask for Wifi because you won’t have 4G
Close to the station
Came back after over two years to find the same bright space serving good brunch food. My ricotta pancakes were a little bit dry on the outside but were still fluffy and the dish was great overall. Service was friendly throughout.
The coffee there is absolutely awesome. My hubby and I both enjoyed it so much. Food is just normally good. Great place for a warm spring afternoon.
Good quality of food and quite environment. But more friendly staff is advised. I probably will visit again for the dish. Too many brunches in Melbourne👀
Really deserve to go. Quite like the Brioche fresh toast! The coffee was good too, but a little bit under our expectation. But we will definitely go for next time!
I had been years ago and found the coffee too bitter thus avoided going back but I am glad to have tried again. The coffee is much smoother. The staff were very accommodating and it was easy to get a table midweek. The mushrooms with poarch eggs were cooked well.
A picture is worth a thousand drools and when I saw a photo of the ricotta pancakes I knew I had to try them. And I drooled in real life because they are yum, yum, yum. The pancakes were a little bit denser than I anticipated but the rhubarb and strawberry compote and the vanilla mascarpone made the overall dish delish. The staff are lovely too - shout out to the young English girl with short blonde pigtails who was so nice and sunshiny.
Heard about two birds forever and finally get to visit it. Got there super late so wanted a lunch dish. Ordered the pork belly burger and it was nice. Very punchy salad and good flavour. The serving size was a bit small and price a bit high and they don't have chips.. (First cafe I have been that doesn't have chips..) Service was really friendly!
Another one of South Yarra’s many cafes and a good one too! Food was yummy and coffee was great too. Only minor thing to fault was the long wait for the food, but will definitely be back here and potentially find a reason to give the 5th 🌟! Thanks heaps guys 😊
Tried this place sometime ago with few girlfriends for breakfast. They serves nice coffee and good list of breakfast options. We ordered few dishes both savoury and sweet to share. Foods are good but not extraordinary. Haven't come back since.
Popped in for lunch around 12.30pm on a Saturday, and was able to be seated straight away. It’s a lovely medium-sized space with some cool light fixtures, big glass terrariums hung by thick white rope and nice alcoves for groups of people looking to dine together.
Service was prompt and attentive.
We started our meal with a flat white and the pineapple juice with apple, lemon and mint; both drinks were great.
For food we ordered the twice cooked pork belly on a brioche bun and the mixed mushrooms. Both dishes were simple yet flavourful, with fresh ingredients that brought out the best of the stars of each respective dish; the pork belly and the mushrooms.
I was especially pleased with the portion of the mushroom dish; such a nice change when there is a lot more mushroom than bread! A special shoutout to the cheese and crispy shallots that took the dish to another level! The flavour and extra texture they provided was perfect.
Very nice cosy cafe, warm and welcoming staffs, amazing coffee. Love the French toast and the eggs benedict. Definitely would come back for more
Would highly recommend the Ricotta Pancakes - incredible plating of the dessert and huge portion. Good for two to share after meal. Good service. Busy but not overly crowded on the Sunday that I was there. Would go back for the pancakes!
Love the grilled eggplant. And the mixed grain salad went well with the sauce. Service was friendly. However coffee was really average. Don’t think will visit again.
Frequent visitor at Two Birds One Stone, definitely a popular cafe amongst the locals. Despite the cafe always so busy, staff do a great job with their friendly service and get you seated rather quickly.
Big fan of their coffee and food with the menu offering a good variety of options. On our recent visit, we decided on the following: the breakfast & ricotta pancakes. Both dishes were presented well and tasted delicious. The pancakes were so soft and had the perfect balance, would highly recommend these if you're after a sweet option. The Breakfast had everything you want in a big breakfast, huge serving as well if you're feeling really hungry.
Good atmosphere, plenty of seating with outdoor options as well. Looking forward to my next visit!
Came here with a small group of friends for brunch. A very busy little cafe on a Sunday morning, as expected.
The menu is pretty good, the specials are unique and classy and the coffee... well mine was really good, but my mate said her soy coffee tasted funny.
Anyway...
The food looked and tasted great. Everyone was happy. The wait staff were a little run off their feet and a bit pushy to get us out of there, but I get it.
Nice place, pretty busy 3.5/5
I ordered Sauteed Mushroom for myself and my friend have the gnocchi pasta (special dish) and ricotta pancake for both of us!
Sauteed mushroom dish is so good, the mushroom is so nice. They seasoned it really well!!
The gnocchi pasta.. it tastes okay for me however my friend loved it! She literally finish everything~ it is not that authentic but still nice.
Ricotta pancake is the highlight! The pancake is wet and fluffy; taste so milky and not too sweet, raspberry compote sweet and sour at the same time yet went really well with the pancake :)
I have heard good things about Two Birds One Stone, so naturally we wanted to come here to see for ourselves.
After much contemplation, we went with the sautéed mixed mushrooms and the Twice cooked pork belly on brioche bun. The mushroom dish is huge- there’s a mountain of mixed mushrooms with Kale, cauliflower, goats cheese and crispy shallots, and not to mention 2 poached eggs on a linseed toast. With many brunch cafes leaving me half full these days, Two Birds One Stone has got your back, serving decent sized portions with high quality ingredients! Every ingredient in the mushroom dish went so well together.
My partner ordered the twice cooked pork belly on brioche bun dish - he devoured this so quickly, every bite was succulent and a burst of flavour. With sirarcha aioli, pickled cabbage, apple relish and a fried egg, this was quite the perfect breakfast burger. The brioche bun was soft and well toasted, and the egg was fried perfectly.
This place is just a sentimental favourite. Every time we go back, we just get reminded of why we like it. The coffee is really smooth. The food choices are both great and done well. The service is always friendly even though they are constantly busy. Parking around it will de-motivate you to pay it a visit, but if you can get around that, it’s one of my Sth Yarra faves.
Our favourite cafe in Melbourne. The brunch is great, coffee on point and the staff are so friendly. We have been regulars every week for the past year and have never had a bad experience.
I tried the breakfast and the french toast. I love love loved the breakfast, every single element on the plate was full of flavor and so delicious even by themselves. The french toast was a bit of a downer, it tasted more like bread pudding to me than french toast. Coffee was excellent.
> Ricotta pancakes with rhubarb and raspberry compote, vanilla mascarpone, seasonal berries and toasted pistachio <
Pancakes for breakfast?! HELL YEAH! These 3 thick and fluffy cakes are seriously delicious. The ricotta is not too strong, however, the strawberries and raspberry compote add a sweeter balance. The vanilla mascarpone, omg, this incredible flavour soaked into the pancakes created the most perfect flavour combination! If you’re in a sweet mood, I would definitely recommend getting these to share!
> Sauteed mixed mushrooms on soy and linseed toast with cauliflower, kale, goats cheese, crispy shallots and 2 poached eggs <
This mushroom dish, omg, I can’t tell you how many times I went back to this dish regardless of how full I was. The mushrooms were sautéed perfectly and had an almost sweet sauce on them. The toast was super soft and crispy and worked perfectly with the portion size. The 2 poached eggs oozed over just topped off the dish and created an incredible flavour combination.
> Smashed avocado with tomato, radish, chives on soy and linseed toast with Meredith marinated feta <
For a change I was actually craving a basic breakfast so I resorted back to my old fave classic meal. The presentation blew me away as the attention to detail was impeccable. The toast was not too crispy and the kind of bread used was so much nicer than a plain sourdough. A solid avo dish that I have absolutely no complaints about whatsoever.
> Braised lamb pasta with broccoli, mushroom, feta and chili <
Pasta for breakfast?! Hell yeah we did! At first I was a bit hesitant to try it because it was so early in the morning but I did not regret it one bit! The lamb was to die for!! It was super tender and the flavours were so juicy and incredible. The veggies surrounding added substance to the dish and broke down the harsh flavours from the meat and pasta. This is a dish you MUST get your hands on!!
Two birds still going strong with a well executed menu and excellent coffee.
The Reuben isn't as thick as a classic but had all the components. The sandwich was lightly buttered and grilled golden brown and crunch, allowing the cheese to melt slightly. Served with a gherkin to cut through the richness.
The eggs benedict comes with a slice of rolled ham hock, which is nice but tends to be a bit dry.
Coffee is pretty nice and strong - shame that I spilled most of it all over myself.
Good atmosphere, central location, there's always a certain charm about this cafe.
This cafe sets such a high standard. You can easily sit back and relax in the comfort of their booths or share table knowing everything is under control! The staff are all incredibly friendly, the food is beautiful and the atmosphere is super cool yet very relaxed. We really enjoyed our visit and can’t wait to go back!
Visited this cafe on a recent trip to Melbourne. Stayed in the area and my partner and I were recommended this place by the staff from where we were staying - loved it!!
We had the salmon and mushrooms and both were perfect. The mushrooms was so full of flavour! Super friendly staff (very good looking too!) delicious coffee and nice vibe too.
what a nice day to stroll along south yarra and of course, not to forget to fill the tummy :)
honestly we chose this cause.... it's near to the station HAHA
but we don't regret a thing we did.
The place looks quite small and its a bit dark inside, but they have outdoor seating which is nice. the staff service is ok i guess. the place is a bit small but.. let's not stop here let's hear from the food first
Panda🐼🐼🐼:
we ordered flat white to start with, very nice! really loves the taste and aroma though it's a bit too milky for me but hey its a matter of preference, it's still a very good coffee
For the dish, we chose pork belly burger and beef cheek from the chef special
Burger was really amazing, really soft brioche bun. And man.. man... the pork is so softtttt. really get along with the slaw insides. and together with the sauce.. a perfect dish
the beef cheek was cooked perfectly, really tender and not dry. really like the mashed potato and sweet potato crisp on the side. really decent meal
quick service
and overall all of the dish is not dissapointing at all really a 5/5 dish .
Pandon't❌❌❌:
the place is a bit dark and the interior is not good enough
perfect for breakfast or lunch but not for longer stay since the ambience is just so so
but still, great job on the dish (y)
All is good.
We love the coffee.
Not only the food was tasty, but service was good. Lots of people arrived after us. Big space, indoor and outdoor.
Check their menu before come in as they have varieties of food. All looks yummy…
One of our favourite locals. Food is always super fresh and tasty, service is good and the vibe is spot on. Doesn’t get much better than this. We ordered the eggs Benny and baked eggs on our most recent visit - delicious.

Finally made it here despite it being a stone's throw away from where we live! The constant crowds on weekends were a testament to what we could expect! It's very busy in the mornings but absolutely well staffed who are quick on their toes and have a great zesty vibe! Food followed through with the vibe check and between the scrambled chilli eggs and Ricotta pancakes I honestly couldn't choose which one was better! And not to forget the precisely spiced chai latte!
Very tasty and many great options. We had ricotta pancakes which were delicious and the breakfast. Great coffee too and quick service. Plenty of seatings

Best Cafe in South Yarra. My personal favorite. Very cozy ambience and scrumptious food. French inspired menu to choose from. Great for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
One of the best Brunch Cafe in South Yarra. Great ambience and the food was heavenly. Their sautéed mushrooms are too good.
Will definitely come again.
I was amazed at the standard of service and the beautiful presentation. I had Gnocchi, sweet potatoe fries and matcha tea. The serving size were generous and everything was very well presented.
Our host also ordered a fresh vege platter which was surprisingly good. It felt so good to munch on freshly cut carrots, radishes and cucumbers with dips. The fruit platter was also very appealing with thinly sliced grapefruit and pineapple slices. Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff for their hardwork and to the very attentive waitstaff. Well done.
This is a new establishment which definitely deserves more patronage. I would strongly recommend Two birds and one stone for work drinks and end of year celebrations. Very reasonable prices and excellent service.
