Review Metro Burger - Melbourne

Priscilla Leung
Best burger in Melbourne❤❤ the bun is very fluffy and the wagyu beef patty is cooked medium well, super juicy! Also amazed by the delicious crocodile burger, the chili jam inside matches so well. Sweet potato fries and Happy ThickShake are must-order too. Great customer service😁Highly recommended👍👍👍

I was looking for a good burger, and I was not disappointed! I walked in planing on getting a Southern fried chicken burger however I heard costumers talking about how yummy the lamb burger was so I decided to give it a try and I was blown away with how good it was. The lamb was extremely fresh and tender pieces that melted in your mouth and cooked to perfection( the chef asks how you like it too!) It was well worth the price and the portion was large and I struggled to finish it but I had to because it was so yummy!

This place never ever disappoints! I try to visit at least once a week for lunch! Seriously, the best salads I have every had, although everything on the menu looks delicious, I cannot go past this salad! See you again soon!

Quite a nice and cozy environment, tried their different burgers. Forgot to ask them to remove pork from my burger. But upon requesting they made me a new one without charging. Thanks!!

Metro Burgers you've done it again. Another mouthwatering, flavoursome burger. If burgers are your thing, then you have got to give these guys a try. The bun is soft and super fresh, the lettuce crispy, the burger is cooked to perfection, it's juicy and full of flavour. The sauce is just enough to tie it all together, for what is just an all over tastebud explosion.

Had the veggie burger and it was cooked to perfection and the bun was perfect to hold it all together! Chips were well cooked and seasoned! Defs recommended and want to return when we can

Ordered the Metro Burger, perfectly cooked, good quality beef, the sauces matched well to create a great burger eating experience. Fries were cooked perfectly too, with friendly staff. Overall great experience. Would recommend. Will be coming again to try a different burger. Thank you

Small burger shop near the end of Degraves Street. Very tasty burgers and sweet potato chips. Excellent service. Outside tables.

I went to this twice while in Melbourne. Simply put their burgers are the Bomb!! They use real Wagu meat and are total value. Great place to sit with a beer & watch the world go by

Many exotic burgers options. Metro Burgers make towering burgers. Although the prices are quite high, the portion is huge. The burger I had was alright. If you love burgers, you should visit here. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Great burgers and even better music.
If you like a kick in your burgers then you have to have to have to ask for “smoked jalapeños”. More than worth the extra $2 charge.
Making this my regular burger joint!
Cheers.

Burger wasn't greasy or oily at ALL which is super important!

Ordered:
🍔 Metro Burger: pure beef patty, mayo, french mustard, tomato sauce, lettuce, tomato & pickles ($10.90)
+ 🧀 swiss cheese ($1.50)
🍟 French fries with chicken salt ($4.90)
+ 🍼lemon herb sauce ($1.00)

Review:
Down Degraves st, Metro Burgers throws a mean burger with some very crispy crunchy lettuce. Buns are toasted, beef was juicy and everything was finger licking pretty good. I can confidently say I've never gone wrong with a swiss cheese upgrade in my burger!

In terms of the price: the basic burger was very affordable, especially when you split the chips with a mate. There's definitely enough for both of you!

Interior isn't spacious but when you get a window seat to people watch... it's pretty glorious.

This small burger joint can be found at the famous Degraves Street, Melbourne. I tried the southern fried chicken burger with fries on a Saturday afternoon. It was quiet busy and table is really difficult to get. Friendly staff even though they were just 2 people :)

try beef chicken emu and kangaroo burger here, very tasty and juice, emu burger and kangaroo burger was fantastic, great food and nice staff.

Got the metro burger here and it was really good, one of the better burgers I’ve had in a while, with a nice juicy and well seasoned patty. Chips and sweet potato chips went down well too

Food: The signature metro burger. Good burger all round, it’s got nice balance, a good bun. And at 10.90 a good price.
Service: Just the one cook and waitress/cashier but they handled it all fine.
Ambience: Sweet little spit on Degraves Street, it’s comfy and has decent amount of seating considering it’s a pretty small shop.

Really enjoyed this little find on Degraves street. We were drawn in by the happy hour 5 dollar beers and we weren’t disappointed by the burgers either. I had the Chipotle burger, the beef was nice pink in the middle, and the homemade chipotle sauce was delicious.

Service was fantastic, it’s a small space so you are literally in the kitchen, as soon as we walked in the door the chef engaged us and we had a quick chat, made you feel at home straightaway.

If you are looking for a solid burger and a nice cosy atmosphere this is a great spot.

I've been on a serious burger binge since moving office. Each day for two weeks I sampled burgers from various joints all over the city. This won easily. There was something different that made me full, but wanting more.

Chef Sutton is the equivalent of an Iron Chef. An absolute master of his craft. Good pricing, very high quality ingredients. The bun is always on point. Emu, and kangaroo are superb.

I have tried everything on the menu burger wise (bar vegetarian). Bacon burger and Metro Supreme are worthy. Still waiting to try the crocodile.

Get amongst it. I can't fathom why they're not easily recognised as the best in Melbourne, at least the CBD.

*Photo doesn't do it justice.

As far as burgers goes this place is awesome, also has great salads if that's what takes your fancy !!! There on the weekend and the kids had burgers and fries and absolutely love them, I had the Emu salad and was stoked with my choice ...great favors !! Small selection of beers, coffee was good ,Service was Ok, price was as you would expect....yes I'll be back !!

Delicious!! Fantastic burgers and sweet potato fries. Our favourites are the Outback (Kangaroo) burger and the Halloumi burger. Well priced for what you get.

Regular friendly staff and the chefs always deliver the dishes themselves!

My only complaint is the size; it's always cramped inside. However it is conveniently located in degraves, which is a plus :)

Cost like a fine dining but taste worse than MacDonald. The price on Zumato is really out of date. The service is bad and I would definitely never visit again. 😞
The Gastronaut
This is a nice warm cozy little place that does some amazing burgers. Some of the buns are lightly toasted to bring some crispiness to them. The fries are great too.

Went to Metro Burger on DeGraves Street for lunch as I wanted to try a new burger place. Was not let down as the burger was very tasty and original, the strawberry shake was delicious and very filling as well. Staff are friendly and nice there, always people coming in for a bite so you know the food must be pretty good. Bit pricey but then certain areas of the city always are. All in all very good though.
Kristian Barker
the fries here are deliciously crunchy! been coming here for a couple of years now and also the staff are friendly as well! If you are in degraves street, come and check it out!
Luke Purcell
Was a last minute decision and o boy am I glad I did. Had the chipotle burger and it was awesome. Juicy, tasty and filling. Side order of sweet potato fries. Service was lovely and food was quick.

We have been to Metro Burger a few times. The burgers in there are pretty good but not amazing. We've had the lamb burger before which was quite yummy, but for this time we had grilled chicken and beef with bacon burgers. The beef and bacon one was good, but I didn't really enjoy the chicken one because the herbs flavour not really matching with chicken, it's kind of a weird taste. Also I think they could work more on their customer service.

Burger Review (link in bio for video review). Degraves st always tempts with it's global reputation. Tried out the Kangaroo pattied burger and was not let down. Not too game overtoned but great balance between salad and meat. Well worth a try! Fries didn't stand out but ok

I walked into Degraves Street cause I was recommend to visit Doughnut time (which is also amazing). But I wanted to eat lunch first. I walked around to see which was a good place to eat. The rest of the street had mostly expensive pasta! I popped into this place as it gave such a good local vibe. I was visiting Melbourne and always think it's great to try out the local food! The place is a bit small but it definitely has its charm. I had the Chipotle burger, which got messy in the end but it was really good. I would definitely recommend this place. The food, service and ambiance definitely fits the Melbourne charm!

My wife and I tried this Burger Shop on a weekday. It's a small Burger Shop just 1 min walk away from the Flinders Station. Tried the Outback Kangaroo Burger and Metro Supreme. Soft bread and moist burgers. One of the best Burger I had in the Melbourne CBD.
We tried the Mocha Milk Shake. Huge glass of milk shake, enough for 2 people. A must try...
We loved it. Friendly staff and very prompt service. Will definitely visit again...
I will give 4.5 out of 5.

I’ve kind of avoided this place after a few misses but I had an incredible craving for burgers and a place to sit in, which can only be provided by the closest burger joint, Metro Burgers. I ordered the Metro Burger which is just a beef patty, mayo, french mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickle and tomato sauce. The patty was almost well done as it was a bit firm, but it had a pleasant seared taste which was unexpected than the usual. The bun being toasted also enhanced the overall burger, and it had the right amount of sauces so it did not leave it soggy. I actually finished the burger without picking it apart.

The service here was great and really friendly! However, I found the chips very poorly made - tasteless and almost like plastic? It was a hot day and the place was too crowded but the lovely staff did make it more comfortable
Chris Hinsley
Excellent burger. Ordered the outback (kangaroo) with sweet potato fries. Tasty, nice portion size, great relish! They even have a happy hour! Would definitely come back.

Great burgers and friendly staff! I keep coming back and am steadily working my way through the menu. Juicy beef and fresh fillings, and my absolute favourite - shatterworthy crispy bacon. The sweet potato fries are a much tastier alternative to plain fries, topping off an already great meal. In the immortal words of the Terminator: I'll be back.

Went there and had to wait 20 mins for the Asian waitress to leave her notebook and come to take my order! First I thought there was no service and she was so busy with her notebook that I believed she was a customer! So totally no service minded staff! The burger I ordered was ok. Nothing more than an overpriced burger! This place just not worth it! Thanks
Nick
I went to this place to grab the signature burger today which was not worth it! The meat was dry and the tomato sauce way too sweet! The waitress was not nice and not smiling at all! The chef was touching the computer and money and food at the same time! Did not wash hands or put on gloves after the dirty money! Fork and knife was not clean so I just decided to eat with my fingers! I will never recommend my friends to come to this place!
Lisa
This place is great! Great burger, very friendly staff and good location on degraves St. I went on a saturday with some friends and we tried the outback burger and the bacon burger. Excellent! It was busy but the waitress was very nice. Great place, we will go there again.
Angela
Just landed from Singapore and on my way to my hostel I stopped by to grab a burger tonight ...well, the table was dirty (some salad and mayo, empty beer bottle) took 30 mins for the waitress to clean it for me after I got my burger which was nothing more than an avarage cantin meal at school for almost $15 bucks! No value for money! Bad burgers! Bad service! Just across this place there is another burger place which is way better experience! Go there!
SchnitzelCalzone
Was there couple of days ago (on Tuesday in the evening) to try their signature Outback burger. I had high expectations as the price was quite high ($14.9 without fries!). What I got was an overcooked bun (almost a toastie) and a half-burnt kangaroo pattie with some salad probably from last week.
The only good thing was the extraordinary nice customer service I got from the waitress. We even had an interesting conversation about European culture.
Please improve your burgers so I might visit your place again.

Went to this place, the lady told us to take a seat and she will come to get our orders. It wasn't on busy period so we think it will be fairly fast. The lady came to take our order and can be seen playing with her phone while taking our order. After sitting and waiting for 30 minutes, we checked with her, but what we get was a confuse face from her, asking if we want to order. What the hell?? Unfortunately with that kind of shit and fu#k up service.. we'll never go back there.. apologize from her is not enough to cover the time wasted for waiting.. Thanks
Giovanna Isabella
This place is the perfect Sunday brunch spot after a big night out and a very busy Sunday morning. The staff were exactly the kind of people you needed to be around, friendly, cool and really helpful (no order is to complex). I got a portobello burger which was super tasty but the whole menu looked great and there were a few options on the healthier sides of salads if you're a little more health conscious. It's a relaxed vibe and tables are close to each other but if you're used to this and potentially like having a chat to cool strangers this is the perfect place for you.

Metro burgers is a rainy day, comfort-food kind of place. Not-a-chain restaurant, it's the kind of place where you can sit back and eat some good food and feel taken care of. Bad day? Rainy and cold outside? You'll leave feeling better.

Unpretentious, warm and fast service is the best part for me. Practically American style wait service, they welcome you, take orders without mistakes, and spend time chatting if you feel like talking. Your food arrives within a couple minutes. That's truly hard to find this calibre of service in an inexpensive burger joint, and it makes you wonder how they found the employees they did.

I had the bacon burger with fries. The fries are thin, salty and crispy, and the servings are generous. The burger is juicy and saucy, with a toasted bun and a hint of Dijon mustard. The chocolate milkshake with ice cream and flakes of chocolate was delicious.

A great place to visit on these cold Melbourne nights, I'll be coming back.

Having heard a lot about Perkup Burgers, a group of us from work decided to venture out and get our burger fix at Perkup on Degraves St. Perkup is a very compact place so we were spot on by coming half an hour before noon so that we could all be comfortably seated. I had the Grilled Chicken Burger as pictured. I enjoyed biting into the toasted bun smothered with butter. The chicken tenderloins were soft and juicy for the most part but the size of the meat was a disappointment. And the burger was too leafy for my liking. We also ordered a plate of French fries and a plate of sweet potato fries. The French fries were probably some of the worst fries I have ever tasted but the sweet potato fries were gourmet and delicious. Crispy on the outside and soft and mashed on the inside, the seasoning added to the sweet potato ones made it a delicious side with the burger. If I were to venture here again it would be for the sweet potato fries and not the burger.

Stumbled across this place when I was in Melbourne in March during the F1. The burger was amazing, the fries were delicious and the milkshake was just as nice. Really enjoyed dipping my shoe string fries into my shake. Will definitely go back when I get the chance...and again lol

Tried chicken burger n coffee ice cream sandwich. Good viewing outside when sitting near the window. Burger is nice n sandwich is unique. Have a not bad impression.

Tried this place for the first time today and had an awesome experience. The burgers were delicious (Chipotle & the bacon) cooked to perfection :0)

This place is a hit! I love it's prime location, homely interior and feel, and most importantly the food!
The grilled chicken burger was superb; the chicken was super tender and grilled to perfection, while the Mayo was creamy but wasn't overpowering. The sweet potato fries were delicious too. They were long, chunky and spiced very well.
Although the burger was relatively small, it was delicious.
Will be back if around the area! :)

Great little burger joint tucked away in the alley way. I walk past this place everyday for work and never stopped by to walk in. Had the bacon burger, was absolutely delicious. Had everything a burger should, every element of the burger was made with care. Paired with french fries match made in heaven.
Meep
Grabbed takeaway a few times from here. Lamb salad was nice, wish there was more. Tried the bacon burger and sweet potato chips - very dry. Would be nice if a sauce had been suggested. They open til 9pm but often are packing up and doors closed by 830pm.
Recommend the $2 coffee on weekday mornings.

A really disappointing experience! The female that works at the place handles money and handles the food directly without washing her hands, which I find appalling considering how dirty money is. The meal is far too overpriced for what it is worth. It cannot compete with some of the better burger places in the city. Will not go back, just not worth it.

This a small nice cozy place. You would not miss it in the evening as many place around is usually shut.

It was a take away meal for me. I had ordered a veg Patty burger and a grilled chicken burger. The best thing about the burger is that they butter the buns and the buns are warm and nice. The veg one that I had was a good patty and lot of topping. I loved the patty, but as it was one of those days where I was having my veg meal my friend's grilled burger really looked juicy and nice with all the mayo and mustard topping running down. It was quite a messy burger but not the messiest. And as the saying goes the messier the better.

I would definitely worth a try if you are around the neighborhood.

Brendan
Tried this place for the first time and had an awesome experience. Loves the variety of vegetarian burgers and the mushroom one was delicious. It also came with a mountain of fries which is a plus. Limited seating options are the only downfall.
Claire Lillian
Not the best burgers I've tried, and the staff were a little unorganised- a pre-booked group of 7 arrived and there was no space, but mid burger we kindly moved to accommodate for them. Probably won't be back given this.
Piffthemagicdragon
I had the chipotle chicken burger, and it was amazing. The buns were buttered and toasted perfectly, the chicken was juicy, and the cheese was just melting. The Nutella milkshake was delicious. Lovely small joint on de graves st with a cool vibe (looks a bit like an old bathroom!).

It was my first days exploring CBD and I wanted an authentic australian cuisine for lunch so I went here. I ordered Perkup burgers which I assume was Aussie-ish enough. The place was a bit small and crowded so it's kind of awkward. But they serve good food and incredibly good coffee, plus the waiter was nice for not kicking us out after several hours chatting there. Bottomline it was good for you who wants to try out Aussie burger, just head down to small lanes near Flinders St train station.
Bridgettt
Came here for breakfast ordered the toasty and coffee for $6.. go up to pay after the meal and get told that deal is takeaway only which is not stated anywhere on the board it is on. Toasty was not toasted enough and the coffee was burnt. Will not be coming back here.
Robert Geddes
Fantastic burgers beautiful flavours and filling to boot. I've been more than once and will come again and again.

The perk up sauce is a must as is the sweet potato fries

This is a little place on competitive Degraves Street that can pack in a surprising 15-20 people at a time. The burger we ordered also seemed to do the same with toppings - pack in quite a bit!

This was the Outback Burger ($14.90) featuring kangaroo patty, onions, tomato, mixed salad, bush spice seasoning, lemon-parsley mayo, and a slab of beetroot! I learned later that beetroot in burger is an Aussie thing, but I grew to quickly get used to it. The sweetness of the beetroot in tandem with the juicy tomato (and there was a thick disc) and perhaps the relish (not sure) distracted me from what I thought would be the highlight - the kangaroo meat. It sort of got lost in the rest of what was happening within that burger. Maybe thinner slices of beetroot and tomato may have helped the meat stand out.

With no accompanying fries or drink, the price seemed high for just the burger - not too filling, that too.
N Travv
best burgers in melbourne. service is fantastic and the presentation was very cute. the meat used in the burgers was fresh and delicious, getting to watch the food being cooked infront of you is great
Sean Divers
Good, quality burgers. No fuss, no frills just a great burger! Perk up with cheese and the grilled chicken are always ordered when I pop in. Might have to expand my range and try a kanga burger one of these days!
Sooo much better than Maccas!
Andrew
This place has never disappointed. The burgers are delicate yet complex, the sauce is tasty and nice. The buns are exceptional and so is the delicious meat. I've loved and enjoyed every second I've had with every burger there, the price is good. When you consider what you get, it's exceptional. I do wish the fries were not so expensive as are the drinks etc...
But that is that. You should definitely try this place sometime!
Ben To
OK, but not great. Given there's several better options in the area I probably won't go back.
Samir GDZ
The outback jack kangaroo burger
Is put together perfectly
Juicy
Amazing flavors
Will defiantly be coming back

High recommend
The Cravings Never Stop.
Located along Degraves st, designed as a finish line? what? Either way, its still suggests welcoming place to get your burger fix! Entering the tiny restaurant, you are introduced mixture of colors that give you a bit of an energetic sense of atmosphere. I personally enjoyed it. I can imagine this place being crammed when its full house though. As a quick note, the toilet is located at the back of the place, so you get to walk through the tiny kitchen...

Fills the Void: the empty burger Void. A little cafe nestled in the heart of Melbourne right off Flinder's. The cafe is small and cozy; with only a couple of tables for two and a side bar for two, Perkup is a quick grab-and-go feed.

Two words, WORTH IT. The Perkup Burger is thick, juicy, hugged by two toasted sesame buns and dripping in oil, cheese and Perkup sauce. Perkup fries are crispy, great quantity for the price, and go great with the garlic aioli.

Overall a Perkup burger and fries will satisfy you for only $12.

A great little cafe if you're hungry for that juicy, oily burger goodness.
Jeff
Could be better. The burger uses quality ingredients with a bold sauce and a bun that holds up well but the meat was beyond well when for the price it should be medium.
Steph
Really good burgers. Kind of stumbled across this place tonight. We planned on going to another restaurant but it was closed for Easter, so wandered down Degraves street and found this gem.The service was a little odd, but the burgers were fantastic - I had the veggie burger, my partner had a beef burger and both were fresh and very tasty. For a cheap, quick dinner I'd certainly recommend. They also sell beer and wine if you want to indulge a little.
Belgian Aussie
Fine classic burgers. Went for lunch today. Although it was busy, service was fast and courteous. We both ordered the classic perkup burger and fries. Fries are a bit "McDonaldsy", not like Grilled's. I'm Belgian, so very demanding perhaps.
Burgers were fresh and tasty, including the bun.

I went another day and ordered poached eggs to take away, all good too.

Bacon Burger. Yummo

Eggcelent!. This is one of my new fave places to go to! THE VEGGIE BURGER, so frecking delicious!!!! Definitely the best veggie burger Ive had! Nomnom and the Benedict burger was eggcelent heheh. Cozy little place with good music! Go go go and try it!!
OoohAaah
Best service in the planet by miss Georgina. Burgers are great too.
Dorothy_96672
The worse burger in the world. I order the bacon burger and that's was terrible. Patty like come from the freezer pack in supermarket no taste, bad quality and overcook and the bun was really bad as well overcook so we feel dissappointed about that if I compare with macdonald this one has the same quality of that.
Musicsoul
Great burger and fantastic service. I've been there last sun for lunch with my friend. Bacon burger was great and delicious!
Definitely i will come back!
Emmilio
Slow service and average burger. Waited here for almost 20 minutes (on my 30 minute lunchbreak!!) for a burger. What a disappointment. Sat and watched several other burgers get brought out to other customers who had ordered after me and my burger was left to get cold for five minutes after it was made. I understand this place gets busy during the lunch rush... but seriously hire more staff!
The burger itself was hard and the bun too stale and tough. Salad was scarce and average and overall, I'd wished I'd gone to Grill'd across the road.
Christine Alexander D'Souza
Cute little cafe tucked into the alley. Glad we tried their Perkup Burger and Bacon Burger.
Tommy Mac
Nearly there. Pros and cons.
Pros - the condiments on the burger were awesome. The french mustard, mayo, tomato combo is excellent. The burger i believe was well proportioned with a big thick patty in the middle. It wasnt sloppy or greasy so you could enjoy it and then not put greasy fingerprints all over your phone while you're writing a review on urbanspoon.

One con. The patty. It just needed more seasoning because it was a little bland and did taste a bit like a frozen one.
JCL
Been twice...probably won't return. I like to give places a few tries and have done so here, so first off, the good. The condiments and everything around the patty, excellent. I had the Chipotle burger and it was much improved over the first time I was there. Smoky, mild heat and all around decent. Now the bad. The patty. It tasted and looked like one of those frozen ones you buy from the supermarket. Maybe it was, or maybe the owner just really likes them and has managed to replicate them perfectly. Either way, it reminded me of my uni student days when I couldn't afford better. Unfortunately, this was not priced accordingly. On top of that, as it does appear quite similar to those frozen patties, it had a habit of getting lost in the bun so that every second bite was mostly bun/lettuce to make sure I had meat through the entire meal.

You might like those patties, in which case, you probably won't get a better burger than here. If you're after a more traditional home made patty though, look elsewhere for now.
Steve McEvoy
Great burgers cooked the way I love them. Friendly staff as well. A little gem of a shop.

Thumbs Up for Perk Up. A fairly recent addition to Degraves Street I was keen to try them out. I'd been to Grill'd across the road a number of times but it's refreshing to see a smaller burger operator take on the big boys.Interesting range of burgers, tried the schnitzel burger. Couldn't fault it, would definitely go back
Like Grill'd they're a bit pricey but I guess that goes with the territory in the CBD
Lawrence
Worst burger I've had. Mates have completed 36 burger nights thus far; I've been to about half.

This was the worst that I had experienced.

Everything was great except for the meat - (beef). Tasteless, processed and looked like it had been steamed. It was likened to a supermarket frozen burger heated up in he microwave.

Fries were 10/10 much unlike other reviews here.

Disappointed. Considered not eating it all but finished it after spending $15 on it.
Nick.zam
Lovely stuff.. Gave the Perkup Double Banger a go, was not disappointed. Didn't wait long for it, very nice flavour and texture.

Lovely service also, will definitely be going back!
FeedMePhoebe
Nothing special! Actually,.... Nothing special!
Actually, I'd rather have gone to Maccas. $50 for two tasteless, boring burgers and boring, oily fries. The Perkup Burger was mustardy, too much margarine on the bread... Meat was tasteless and greasy. Do yourself a favour, walk right on by !
Jacqui
Great vibe, friendly staff, delicious lamb burger!!
Jacqui Moore
The atmosphere was nice and clean. The day was fine. We had two ham and cheese sanwiches and sweet potato chips that tasted great. Great service!

Sensational burgers - definitely worth stopping in and trying them. We were a group of 6 hungry customers looking for a late lunch spot and luckily we squeezed into PerkUp Burgers. What a delicious treat we were in for, staff friendly and helpful,

We ordered one lamb burger, two perk up burgers, a Chilpotle Burger (yes it is really hot by yummy too) and a double banger plus two serves of the sweet potato fries, delicious to share - got to try these, very good!

They have a small assortment of soft drinks, juices and beers.

Would totally recommend this place, two of our crew went back for dinner later on that evening after a comedy show, both having the hot stuff!

Will be back!
Georgia Nowell
TERRIBLE FRIES BUT 10/10 beef bacon according to my bf who is THE fussiest person I have and will ever know. He was in love.
I however hated my veggie patty burger, it was gross and the bun was way too sweet!!
Again FRIES ARE THE WORST NOT WORTH 1c!!
Mr Killer
Best Ever????????????. What a pleasant suprise this little gem was. Must admit we were not expecting much when we walked in but were wrong. Being a strict vegetarian with a cheese allergy I was looked after brilliantly by the staff ( and the cook ) and my burger was fantastic. My wife, who is a notoriously fussy eater proclaimed her burger " the best ever". Our only complaint.... the burgers were so delicious we wanted them to be bigger!! Thank you Perkup.
Jecs
Went to this little cafe last week and was pleased with the simple but tasty food on offer.
Li Pink, Joyce Kun
Yummy non-pretentious burger.. I visited this little eatery last saturday for dinner, it was my first time trying it out. Degraves was strangely quieter that night but I didnt mind at all. Perkup is clean and bright- great first impression. Greeted by lovely staffs, both on the floor and the chef. Had their grilled chicken burger and sweet potato chips. The burger was filling and decent-sized, delicious and not sloppy. Tastes really good and at the same time healthy. I am not a burger fan but i would definitely be back here for my next burger fix!! I dont think the portugese tarts were baked in house- however, dont think its necessary?? if it doesnt taste good, dont serve it.
Andy
Made my burger, made my day!. The burgers were average but loved the service! The little asian cook was cheerful and bubbly! Had a great chat with the waitress too! Warm lovely smiles made my day! Will definitely return for a simple burger and a great service!
Sam
Stick to Grill'd. These burgers were really not great, especially considering the competition they have a mere 10 feet away. Our burgers were doused in wasabi mayo (which is NOT on the menu) and this completely ruined them. Also, the burger flipper seemed to be using a burger bun, which she intended to serve, as a grill cleaning tool... We'll stick to Grill'd next time.
Allanah
Went on a Sunday afternoon and had the Lamb burger which was delicious and of very good quality! The staff were lovely and really attentive, mixed with a great sense of humour. Will go again for sure!
Marc Laucher
Bacon burger rocks. A place where u can get sweet potatoe chips. Really yum. And great service. That English girl is really cool.
Georgina
Love the burgers...a favourite haunt on my lunch break!! Cosy environment and fun music, now my fave burger joint in cbd :))

The staff were really sweet. I have a gluten/wheat allergy and they have 3 gluten free options on the menu. I had the lamb burger. Which was grilled lamb plus dressing and burger toppings and a gluten free bun. Totally delicious and no eyes were rolled when I asked what on the menu was gluten free. Would recommend - great to have a place with helpful staff.
Food For The Soul
Has a good foundation to be a great burger, the issue I had was the burger patty was too hard, change the meat to a really good quality patty and it would be really great.

Super helpful, quick service on a Saturday evening, and tasty food!! Food was reasonably priced :)

It was ok. The burgers were a bit bland.
Our sweet potato fries were burnt to a crisp so they brought over fresh ones.

Portobello burger. Yummy. And the sweet potato chips so good. Used to go to Perkup in Collins street but this place is so cool.

Yum and value for money. What a great burger place. Fresh ingredients and flavoursome. The price is also a bonus because it's not overpriced.

Burger Night Melbourne
“Perk your stomachs for this weeks entry to the Burger Night journey as we fight through Melbourne’s hustle and bustle to achieve a Burgmax that we’ll hopefully never forget – Perkup Burgers on Degraves!” The Burger… ‘Bacon Burger’ – Black Angus Beef Pattie, Mayo, French Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato, Cheese, Bacon, Pickles, Tomato sauce. Upon arriving at Perkup, a gentleman exiting the venue said, “best burgers”, making us believe that we were in for a treat! However, when the actual burger came out something seemed off about it...
