Love, love, loved Rustica Canteen! A hidden gem, with a sneak peek view to some gorgeous furry felines over the lane way. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food and coffee were perfect❣
A great find in the city, this place was recommended to me and it didn’t disappoint. The staff was friendly recommended food options for us due to our allergies requirements.
Food was delicious i’ll be back for sure
It’s been forever since the last brunch! Even though it’s still relatively quiet around the streets and alleys, it’s good to finally see people dining in at places while maintaining social distancing. 🥰
Music: Well first things first, can’t emphasise enough more on the great playlist, if you’re down for some chill and lofi vibes, this is def the place (Not sure if lofi is their everyday playlist tho).
Food: Was great, really love the Wholemeal Waffle. Its a guilt free experience for someone who loves dessert. The candied puffed quinoa sprinkled on top was a way to go!
Service: Really thoughtful and friendly team. Share plates were provided way before we thought about it.
Tried corn and chilli waffles, and breakfast salad. Their breakfast salad is definitely underrated. No one really talks about it but it was the best salad I have ever had. It was full of flavour, nutty and fragrant I really wanted the recipe x lovely ambience and friendly staff and service. I Would definitely come back
We had our standard smashed avo and corn fritters. They were both full of flavour. Loved both. Also the shaved ice at night is good too
What a nice place to have a brunch date. The staffs were friendly and attentive. The corn and chilli waffles taste like indonesian corn fritters but in a fancy way. Overall, it is a good place with a good food! Will come back for more. The price is average just like any other brunch place. Around $20 per dish
I got the mushroom medley which was fantastic. I always order the mushroom dish at brunch places and this was by far the best. The melted gouda was an amazing addition and it added another depth of flavour and texture. The eggs were perfectly cooked and runny and just tied the whole dish together.
Would definitely come back again!!!
Food was AMAZING!! Best spot for mushroom medley and very delicate and not too sweet pannacotta!! Will definitely be back
My fiancé was the one who found out about Brick Lane as we were looking for a new brunch place to try out in Melbourne CBD. It did not disappoint!
Our arrival was just on time because they already started serving sandwiches, aside from their all-day breakfast menu. Sandwiches are available from 11am onwards. He ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and as for me, the southern crispy chicken sandwich. Of course, we ordered our standard choice of coffee, the flat white. Both meals Were absolutely good. The pulled pork was really juicy. My crispy chicken (with mashed avocado and a few veggies) was really light and refreshing on the palate.
We will definitely try out their other dishes when we fly back to Melbourne!
Plus points to their friendly and accommodating staff 🌟
Brunch catchup in the CBD on a Sunday. Brick Lane has been on my list for a while. It was about a 20 minute wait for the two of us to get on the communal table. Our server was lovely (didn’t get her name, of Asian appearance), and I went with the chili bacon scramble. It was delicious - no doubt about it, but $20 for eggs on toast always bothers me. My mate had the avo smash at the same price. My cappuccino was below average, but the server and the food made up for it. They accepted payment by Zomato Gold without a problem.
Everyone raves about the coffee and brunching experience in Melbourne, so naturally you know I had to try it out myself. Our recent trip to Melbourne had a very early morning flight, which meant we had a few hours to kill before checking in to our Airbnb - close by was the very popular Brick Lane located in a tiny laneway of a main road across from a cat cafe.
With a neon sign that’s hard to get in photos, the smell of baked bread and plants sprawling over the walls, The Brick Lane offers everything you want.
Be aware with the vegan option of avocado toast - it automatically comes with Mushrooms! Coffee is fantastic.
Great cafe with a lot of vibes and good service. The food in my case was smashed avocado with bacon was beautiful. One of the better ones. It is seeds which provides the crunch and the pickled onions goes so well, it makes you wonder why no one else has done it. The coffee was good.
Great service and good food! Would definitely go back! We had the waffles and baba Ganoush would highly recommend both! Good coffee too!
Went to Brick Lane for the first time, it’s tucked away down a picturesque lane way near Melbourne Central. What a great find! So many delicious options on the menu! The staff are friendly and efficient without being overbearing. Had the waffles with fruit (and a bunch of other delicious stuff), good size portion & tasted delightful. Will definitely go back. Only criticism is that there is literally ONE bathroom to service the entire cafe, expect to wait upwards of 10 mins to use the toilet.
Waited almost 30 minites for a table on the weekend but it was worth it.
Brick Lane has a great selection of traditional brunch items as well as salads.
Where do i start? Brick Lane is such a lovely cafe in an alley away from the hustle n bustle of CBD. We went as a party of 6 and waited around 40 minutes on a Sunday (totally understandable). Upon seated, the staffs were very quick to attend to us on what drinks we wanted to start. Service was great.
We then ordered Mushroom Medley, Baba Ganoush, eggs benedict, beef brisket sandwich & lamb shoulder sandwich to try. Everything was great (especially the beef brisket sandwich that was packed with flavour). However, the lamb shoulder was just way too salty and the mushroom dish was kinda small and tasted quite bland. Other than that, we really enjoyed our experience in Brick Lane. Oh, Chai was really great too!
We tried the watermelon juice, chilli scrambled eggs, and mushrooms and kale, all of which were delicious. The chilli eggs wasn’t too spicy and the toast was crunchy. The mushroom kale dish was delish!! The juice tasted great too. The place was cozy, nesting in a lovely laneway. Overall, a very good experience.
Came here for brunch on a hot sunny day ☀️ very friendly staffs, comfy environment, fast service. Even tho it’s packed, only need to wait for like 10 mins till food’s out. Bookings recommended. About food quality, it’s generous servings, everything’s tasty, veggie is fresh, pulled pork is nice, tho i was expecting it’s well-marinated but topped with good dressings. The potato is nice as well, great combi w/ sandwiches. Will defo come back ⭐️
Corn & chilli waffles ($19.80)
Southern style chicken sandwich ($17.80)
Yogurt panna cotta ($17.80)
⭐️ 4.5/5 ⭐️
🍴Yummy food and a wide menu with interesting flavours and components at #bricklanecafe. For savoury, we enjoyed both our chosen dishes. The #cornwaffles was unique and worked well with the avocado and poached eggs. The chilli sauce added a nice sweetness and kick and I loved the crunchy chulpi bits which were sort of like popcorn. The chicken sandwich comprised of a pumpkin sourdough that was soft yet crisp at the edges which added a more unique deviation from normal bread, a crispy chicken, and nice flavours from onion, cheese & siraracha aoli. For sweets, we all enjoyed the #pannacotta that was of a lovely smooth texture and came with a delicious house-made granola. The sweetness of the two balanced out well with the slightly sour berries and chai poached pears.

Guy at the door sounded quite inexperienced, he was just speaking his mind about where he plans to put the people (here and here and there) we told him we were ok to take those bar table but he was too absorbed in talking to himself that he ignored us and later told us unless we were alright to take the bar table, we can hop right in.
We ordered a grain salad and a breakfast salad and both tasted fantastic. coffee was alright - beans used were not great. Foam was great though.
Love the vibe of the place too.
Scramble - 4
Coffee - 4 (3.5 for soy)
Muffin - 4
Ambience - 4
All in all a easy place to come to in a cool laneway of Melbourne. Scramble was buttery, double choc muffin was nice. Nothing blew us away but definitely worth visiting.
Lovely space, probably one of the prettiest cafes to just sit back and unwind in. Food was excellent and very filling - keen to try some more dishes!
What a hidden gem! Well worth the walk from our hotel in Exhibition St. The smashed avo is awesome and the chilli scrambled eggs are quite simply genius. Never had them before and couldn't believe how well the chilli, bacon and parsley worked with the eggs. Gluten free toast was excellent too.
Service is friendly and fast. Coffee is what they specialise in so obviously perfecto. Very happy.
Points for: appetising menu, tasty artisanal breads
The range of sandwiches available are made with toasted artisanal breads, flavourful meats and rich fillings, they’re one of the best things to have here.
Slow roasted lamb salad – One of the best salads I’ve had, it’s got flavoursome pulled lamb and the richness is cut with bitter rocket and radicchio, with some nuttiness from the almonds and manchego. A very well thought-out salad.
Brick Lane is a great laneway dining experience, as they have all day breakfasts, great sandwiches and appetising salads.
Have been to this place a couple of times, I like the vibe of the cafe and the lane is one of my favourites! The brunch out here is really good, salads are nice but not enough in quantity. Would definitely recommend going for some brunch-y dish. They do my soy flat white with chocolate powder on top just the way I like it. Great coffee, friendly staff and overall a nice brunch places!
Secluded hispter-feel brunch place serving coffee and brunch dishes until the afternoon. The food is pretty good although nothing really unique or stands out. Can get very busy on the weekend so expect queue.
Love my egg benedict with bacon. It came with poached eggs and pumpkin sourdough as well. Their fresh orange juice was really nice and sweet as well. The vibes and service are great too! My friends ordered smashed avocado with bacon and chicken salad, they enjoyed it very much!
Will I be back? Sure!
Delicious panna cotta option but would have loved a little extra milk for the granola itself, because it was a little dry without any yoghurt, even with the panna cotta! Coffee was delicious though and service amazing!
Went here for late brunch so luckily we didn’t have to wait for a table. I got myself Eggs Benedict with pulled pork - was a delicious taste however, they could’ve give more pork comparing to other places. Other than that, love the interior and the atmosphere. The lane way while finding the cafe was definitely an adventurous and insta worthy experience.
Brick Lane is tucked away in Melbourne’s many alleyways. Their food is a must-try for lovers of healthy and hearty salads and sandwiches - the latter being one of the best in the area thanks to delicious Rustica sourdough bread. I had the mushrooms with pesto on sourdough which was seriously good.
one of the best brunches i’ve had yet. the eggs benedict is honestly one of the best brunch meals i think in melbourne and the service was really catering - can’t wait til next time.
The place is hidden in a cozy street. The staff is friendly and the environment is lovely. I love the food, so as my friends. But is little bit salty that day. Coffee is brilliant as well.
The food here was spectacular! We loved every mouthful! The ambience is good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A lovely little find down a hidden lane way.
We ordered Egg Benedict and Avo smash with extra Gin Dill cured trout. The idea is similar to the Rustica I think. And also they use Rustica bread as well. Taste good as always. Freshness is on point. Nice portion.
Very cute cafe in a cute, plant-filled lane. I had the chilli scrambled eggs and they tasted amazing. Loved the bacon and spring onions. Served nice and hot and just want i needed on a cold day.
Coffee was great too.
Lovely atmosphere, service and presentation of food. I got the southern fried chicken sandwich which was very good! Great find in Melbourne and will come again!
We had to wait quite a while for a seat but it was worth it. All the food looked delicious, I had a strawberry milkshake and it was very good :)
This place has a great vibe, a menu which should cater for most people’s tastes and dietary requirements, good coffee and friendly service. It was a 15-20 min wait to get a table, but really glad we waited. I had the mushroom medley with poached eggs and sourdough and it was delicious. My hubby really enjoyed his eggs benny as well. Both dishes had texture and flavours that added to their unique approach and made it memorable and left us wanting to try other dishes also.
If you're hungry and want to eat something familiar yet different and naturally delicious, order this. Only lost marks on not being the best haloumi somehow. I like it saltier. Baba, delish. Nice thick toast.
There were a few other good vego choices too.
Warm space. Not quite the spot I'm gonna settle in with a book but pleasant and comfy. Nice service.
When my friend and I got hungry while we were at melbourne central, we searched up some local cafes around us. we found brick lane and thought it looked nice so we walked here, it’s in a great location down a cute alley way type of street. we both got the smashed avo and fell in love. it was quite possibly the best smashed avo i have ever had in my life, and it’s quite affordable. the cafe itself is very cute with you surrounded by plants and a bright neon sign. the waiters were all super kind but the waiter we had was the nicest guy ever. he was super friendly and was constantly smiling. 5/5 would 100% be coming back again and recommending to everybody i know!!
Good food and friendly staffs. Hidden brunch place that serve more hearty dishes instead of just pretty brunch plates. Highly recommend their grain salad, for someone who isn’t a salad person I could honestly say theirs is a pretty good one.
Came here because of a friend recommendation and was pleasantly enjoyed my lunch here. Had the corn waffle fritters and smashed avocado. Both dishes are well cooked and delicious. Staffs are very friendly too. One of my faves brunch spots now.
Accidentally discover this hidden spot in the CBD, the corn and chilli waffles w/ avo was tasty, also the vanilla yogurt panna cotta really hit the spot👌🏻
This place is one of our usual haunts just living down the road. The amount of people queueing up on the weekends outside speaks for itself.
The food is really fresh and tasty, good simple clean ingrediants and great coffee. Brunching here with friends and family is always a pleasure. The staff is friendly, attentive and just a bunch of genuine people.
I would say the highlight of Brick Lane would be their bread, I think they are part of the Rustica family, their croissants are to die for (personally I rate them better than Lune, but that could be a personal bias).
A great place for sweet lover like me💕! The place was a bit hard to find though. Went there on Saturday. There were soooo many people lining up. The place is quite small and busy. Great food and friendly stuff😚
Brick Lane - when did you change names from Rustica? Either way, food and coffee is still fantastic. Their pulled pork benny with pumpkin sourdough was fantastic - hats off to the especially well-baked sourdough!
I was in an egg mood when I ordered this. I originally wanted to order something with poached eggs but I thought to give scrabbled a try. The eggs were scrambled with manchego cheese, bacon and spring onion, topped over sourdough bread. The first bite was amazing, you could really taste the cheese and the bacon. I like it when the egg is not fully cooked because it's still creaming and fluffy inside and this was just perfect. The sourdough bread was really crunchy which I liked because the egg was so soft it kinda gave a bite to the dish.
After a few more bites the flavour got repetitive and I got quite full so I couldn’t finish it. But overall, I'm down to try more of their menu
This is probably one of my favourite brunch spots in the CBD. The sourdough cannot be beaten.
I really like the menu. There are plenty of healthy options as well as some brunching classics! As well as a few daily specials.
They have sandwiches, cakes and bakes on offer too!
Last time I went I ordered the salad with chicken and a poached egg with some sourdough. Always have to have their sourdough. IT WAS YUMMY.
Love this cute little spot.
Brick Lane (by Rustica?) was a nice brunch place in Melbourne CBD with its wooden-themed, modern setting. We had their coffee, chilli scrambled eggs, and waffle with peanut butter mascarpone, jam, salted caramel. The coffee was lovely, the chilli scrambled eggs was delicious and generous in portion, the waffle was pretty good too and not too sweet (would have been better it it wasn’t made of wholemeal perhaps?). Overall, Brick Lane was another great option for brunch.
Chilli scrambled eggs to die for! This is one of my regular haunts for the past 2 years. It might have changed owner in that time, but the quality of the food is good. I also recommend the pulled pork bennedict.
Nice coffee and atmosphere ! Try their corn waffle and flat white ! I love it, located in a small hidden alley. Great place for brunch! Would definitely recommend
A very nice experience at a very nice cafe, serving mostly Rustica products as well as a selection of sandwiches, salads and brunch fare. For $19, my baba ghanoush was enough to keep me full til dinner time and didn't leave me feeling ripped off like many cafes do. The serve of delicious haloumi was generous, and the dish came with two eggs and two tomato halves plus extra spread in addition to what was already on the bread - perfect for rationing across both pieces of toast. My soy flat white was also nice and service was friendly and prompt.
This place has a nice and cozy ambience, not really crowded and noisy. It's a good brunch place to catch up with your friends since you will be not in hurry and you can hear your friends' voice clearly. The egg benedict was pretty delicious. As a matter of fact, I hate sourdough, but I can handle the sourdough from this egg benedict. It's not too sour and I love the butter on top of the sourdough.
Vanilla panna cotta is also tasty, although I found the fruits like kiwi too sour.
Coffee is okay, and I also love the chai.
In conclusion: I will come back to this place for brunch. 😀
Attentive and friendly staff. The Pulled Pork Burger was tasty and very large portion. A nice tucked away cafe with pleasant interior. Had a wonderful experience here.
Great food presentation. The breakfast salad was very filling with smashed avocado, rice and nuts. Eggs benedict was done right. Not pricey and good portions. Good service.

Had a workout nearby so we dropped by here for brunch. The good location is an obvious plus for this place. Ordered a skinny flat white and almond latte, quite yum. I love the sourdough here.. I wish there was meat included in this breakfast special without paying extra but hey, times are tough eh. Portions are perfect for 2 girls - that means men may still feel a bit hungry. All in all consistently good dishes. I still think the avocado toast is the best dish here (came here years ago, very memorable dish!)
Loved our visit to ‘brick lane ’ and it lived up to its high rating. the food was cooked to our specifications and the staff was friendly and helpful. The coffee was amazing, so much so, I purchased a bag of beans.
The place was busy but service was prompt.
Definitely will be back when next in the city.
Such a pleasant part of inner city Melbourne and to think I used to get my scooter serviced down this once neglected Laneway. Brick Lane is a industrial styled cafe with exposed beams, brick, a lick of white paint and a touch of greenery. Inside space is chilled out and there is plenty of lofty natural light.
I came here for a quick bite to eat and coffee this morning so headed to the counter for a look rather than take up the menu. Some absolutely amazing breads, croissants, doughnuts and danish were on display which made choosing really quite hard. I stuck to healthier option opting for a toasted banana and pecan bread. Even this small purchase came on a great tray with butter to the side. The coffee came a little later and was quite a smooth blend that was quite subtle... I would order strong next time.
I loved the vibe here and would definitely love to come back and try the menu out at another time.
I personally believe that this cafe is much better than other cafes out there in Melbourne because of the friendly staff and taste of food.we ordered coffee and some snacks all the food tasted so good.
A nice, warm and welcoming cafe in the heart of Melbourne! Amazing staff, and probably the best pulled pork burger I’ve ever had, it was delicious. They do great coffee too!
A consistent performer c: I’ve been here a couple of times and barring one visit where the wait time was unexpectedly long, I’ve enjoyed every experience.
Atmosphere is modern but playful and staff are generally very friendly. Food is what I’d call amped up brunch and pricing can pinch a little but it’s good brunch so it’s to be expected.
I had this yoghurt panna cotta a while back and I’m still thinking about how smooth that panna cotta was and how much I underestimated that blood orange dust. You could say it was like yoghurt and muesli, only sexier.
Thanks for the good stuff!
This little Golden Nugget Cafe is tucked away in a little lane way of Melbourne & from the outside it doesn’t look like much but for 10:20 am on a Sunday morning it was busy & full of life. It has a buzz about this place that was absolutely superb.... Anyway! I ordered the Vanilla yogurt Panna Cotta with musli & fruit. It was absolutely a joy to consume the balance of flavours, crunch, sweetness, yogurt & poached pear just lifted the dish to the next level, which balanced extremely well. The corn waffles was a light fluffy addition to the dish. I highly recommend you book if you have more than 3 people because it got full really quick.
Honestly f*&^ing sensational. We kept to the CBD during this trip, but Brick Lane was the furthest to get to from our other end of the city. Totally worth the hike.
Nestled down this cute little laneway, no surprise there was a bit of a wait. Very much worth it. If you know Sydney, It's got a similar vibe to Brewtown - approachable, lively and cosy. Lots of activity. Lots of delicious food. I felt confident ordering the corn & chilli waffles - they are far from my usual preference, but with relish, avo and eggs, it seemed like they might know how to do a decent waff. Intuition proved right. Fluffy, not dry, just perfect really. The whole dish was a right treat!
Slow Roasted Lamb Shoulder Sandwich is obviously more of a baguette and I can say I've only had one better (in the form of a classic plain french baguette). Sensational baguette itself, but the onion, and yoghurt all amping up that tender lamb. I wanted to take home baguettes but even at 10am these guys were sold out. $17 totally worth it.
Hands down the best smashed avo I’ve ever had. My sister joined me and got the chilli scramble, also rated it highly. We have been all over Melbourne, and brick lane is definitely our new go to place! To top it off the service is incredible! Thanks for having us, see you again very soon. (I don’t usually post reviews but made an exception for brick lane)
First time here, digged around for popular laneway cafés and brought a visiting friend here too. I loved the pumpkin sour dough that came with our eggs. It was crusty on the outside and super soft on the inside. With the generous toppings on the dish, the bread also soaked up the sauces and runny yolks so well. Yum! 😋
[Actual rating 3.5] After a lot of twisting and turning (trying to follow a dot on Google Maps) we found Brick Lane tucked away in Guildford Lane. The interior was lovely, decked out with vines and neon signs - quite sublime!
For lunch we had:
Smashed Avo pickled red onion, beetroot relish, persian feta, toasted seeds & poached eggs on sourdough ($18.50) + cured trout ($5)
Baba Ganoush, grilled halloumi, roma tomato, greens, sumac, salt & poached eggs on soy, quinoa & linseed sourdough ($19)
Eggs Benedict - poached eggs, tabasco hollandaise, fennel & red radish salad on pumpkin sourdough with gin cured trout ($20)
Corn and chill waffles with smashed avocado, house tomato relish, poached eggs, endive & micro herb salad ($19)
Pros:
- Instaworthy aesthetics
- Big portions of food
- Interesting choice of meals!
- Corn and chilli waffles were very unique - I regret not adding trout though for extra flavour
Cons
- A bit pricey considering most meals didn’t have meat
- Baba Ganoush bread was a bit crusty/hard
Overall, we're glad we came and think this deserves a 3.5 as it was a bit $ but still tasted and looked great!
Any brunch places that serve cured salmon or trout will be a yes from me 🥑 smashed avo with beetroot relish with pickled onions and fetta was yum! Bonus points because the venue is fabulous with all of its indoor plants as well as the lane itself :)
Amazing! Best food and coffee, service with a smile and super cool vibe. The Chia Pudding makes my heart sing it’s so delicious A gorgeous green oasis tucked away in the gorgeous Guildford Lane. It was so well worth the wait
Lovely ambience and amazing food. Love the baba ganoush with halloumi, iced coffee are great too, got coffee ice cream in it unlike the usual ones.
Amazing cafe tucked hidden in Melb CBD alleyway. Was craving for sandwich then stumbled into this spot. Tried the beef sandwich, which came reallly huge. I thought I could eat it with hands, but a proper utensil was needed indeed.
Fortunately it was easy to take down as the flavor was awesome! The beef was prepared in such a way that I found it almost like Chinese Char Siu style. It was red and glazy, but packed with saltiness and smoky flavor that made it so enjoyable to eat. Sandwiched between two light and fluffy Ciabatta rolls, buried beneath a bed of rocket with tangy and creamy aioli, made this slice of meat so enjoyable to eat.
I wash it all down with a glass of Iced Mocha. An icy and bitter aromatic drink to give a sweet finish to a Sunday afternoon lunch.
Nice food and staff!
Te place is in the inner area of Guildford lane, a bit hard to find it out, but the food worths the time looking for!! Although the coffee (latte) tastes plain
overall: 3.75/5
gluten free options: 3.5/5
food taste: 4/5
ambience: 4.5/5
customer service: 3/5
pricing vs quality: 3.75/5
impossible to find unless you use zomato/google maps but worth finding nevertheless. brunch is always a must when in melbourne. there was a minor wait since it was a saturday morning-lunch, but nothing too long.
gluten free options are decent, with gluten free bread as a substitute. otherwise, it’s just their salads and their drinks. waited around 20mins for our meals but iced soy mocha came pretty quickly. they didn’t write down the order so they got confused and thought it was an iced coffee at first. the iced mocha wasn’t anything special but i would rather pay this price than drink their tap water since the bottle/glasses actually smelled gross to me.
ordered baba ganoush on gluten free bread. it was pretty good. poached eggs were perfect and runny once i poked them. baba ganoush doesn’t really have a strong flavour, but it’s a nice complement to the other elements. you really have to have everything together or else it just tastes rather bland. rly liked the grilled haloumi.
service could be improved. the servers were all abt getting things done asap and the moment we finished our plates they came to grab them as if to shoo us off to make space for more people (i hadn’t finished my drink yet but i had to sip it real fast). basically they were friendly getting us in but lost that friendliness the moment we ordered.
ambience is nice. it’s definitely packed with people but you can still talk ok :)
Hiding in the small alley, Brick land would possibly draw your attention through the buzz from the guests inside rather than it’s appearance.
The original intention was for Hardware lane for some eating however the street was blocked due to construction work when I stepped into Lt Lonsdale St... I had to have a detour through an alley which is absolutely nowhere to me as a tourist. Was surprised by and almost decided to try the Krimper Cafe however suddenly noticed the buzz from another place on the opposite side. The name reminds me of eEast London so I went in.
Came here for brunch today. The place was hidden from the main road in a really cute laneway!! Nice, simple decor with very welcoming and friendly staffs!! I ordered the avo toast with one instead of two pieces of toast (since I normally cant finish two) and my friend got the chicken salad. Food came quicly and presented nicely.
The house-made sourdough was so so nice, crunchy yet airy and not too heavy. Avo was perfect amount and the pickle onion and betroot go SO WELL with everything else, savoury, sour and a little sweet 😭😭 eggs was poach perfectly too!! I can honestly have this everyday.
My friend’s salad was literally so big that we needed a takeaway bag to finish it later haha.
Overall a place worth visiting ❤️
Hidden off the beaten track, Brick Lane is situated down an alley way which runs off another alley way lol You would not know this place existed if it wasn't for Zomato.
We were seated straight away, luckily as a line quickly grew and people were waiting outside the door.
Service was ordinary, very ordinary in fact after waiting an extremely long time wanting to order I had to flag the waiter down twice to ask him to take our order. Unfortunately, my score of 4 is due to service otherwise this would of been 4.5.
Coffee was good, however I did need to ask for my second latte to be a little stronger as I felt the first was on the weaker side. Our food was magic, my eggs benedict full of flavour and the gin cured trout plentiful. I couldn't taste the tabasco in the hollandaise sauce but it was delicious all the same. My partner ordered corn and chilli waffles, again no real chilli hit but it was still flavoursome. The ingredients in both our dishes all worked well together and were of great quality.
All in all a good cafe with a great menu and good coffee and food, a definite visit.
Zero complaints! Aside from its lovely alleyway feel in a heritage building, the coffee, food and baked goods were praise worthy. Priced and portioned well with good service. Impressed.
Awesome breakfast. Chilli scrambled eggs to die for and the red pickled onions on the avocado and feta poached egg dish was amazing. Service was good even though it was busy.
Good coffee, tasty food and good service!! I have been here many times since 2016.
My favourite order is the baba ganoush and halloumi dish.
I love when I accidentally stumble onto something special. Brick Lane Cafe served me a great breakfast with fast and attentive service. The baba ganoush, haloumi, poached eggs, tomato and soy and linseed toast was delicious. Each item was fresh, tasty and perfectly cooked. Compliments to the chef.
We had the pulled pork and the peppered brisket sandwiches, they were excellent! A good balance of saltiness, sweetness, crunch and acidity. The portion size and the presentation were both spot on. Coffee was good too! The cafe is hidden in an alley and very cute. Would definitely recommend !
On this winter day, i tried too find brunch place close to my place. It was so windy, i can’t barely even to walk. So herr i found brick lane cafe..
The sourdough was nice and allright, cured troat was given plenty and worth extra $5, the smashed avocado, the seeds, beetroot and pickle onion mix really well, create a good harmony in your mouth. The poached eggs was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. Overall dish was delicious!
Wholemeal waffle was incredibly good too. However it was a bit dry for me even though i tried to eat with the other elements in the dish. The mascarpone was not too sweet, which is good. The salted caramel was nice with a bit twist of sweet poached apple. The strawberry, flakes almond, and the flower compliment the overall pretty presentation of the dish.
In the end,the food was good, the staffs were very friendly, the place and the ambience was nice, bright and airy. Will be back for sure!
