Very friendly staff. Beautiful ambience. Loved the toblerone cocktail
We visited Berth for our office Christmas lunch. House wines are good. Food is really great. The kangaroo steak and the seafood pasta is heavenly.
Great customer service.
Berth Restaurant is located in the Docklands. The large windows around the restaurant allowed for good views of the water and the boats. We organised a function for about 58 guests and for $60 per person each guest could have a three course meal and select from a choice of four entrees which included Hervey Bay scallops and crumbled calamari, five mains which included Eye fillet steak and Atlantic salmon fillet and five desserts. In general, there was good feedback regarding each of the dishes except the Yoghurt panna cotta dessert. Unfortunately, it was not a panna cotta and had a consistency of yoghurt not a wobbly panna cotta one would expect. Furthermore, it just tasted like a dish of yoghurt. I had the Sticky date pudding and the Chocolate honey pot for dessert and enjoyed them both.
The table configuration was three tables of 16 and a table of 10. Unfortunately, one of the tables of 16 was on another level and although close by, the guests on that table were separated from the other guests and the people on one level could not see the people seated on the other level.
Bottles of wines start at $38 and you can order 1 litre carafes of cocktails for $40.
Love this place! Have been here for breakfast lunch and dinner and they are all fantastic. Best quality food and good service. Love this place
4.5
We came to Berth the other night and immediately fell in love with the stunning view ! Situated right next to the water this restaurant is an experience on its own!
We sampled the Mediterranean platter which consisted of a chef’s selection, my favourite was the Arancini , the calamari on there was also delicious, melted in your mouth !
For mains we tried the crab risotto and the kangaroo fillet . The kangaroo was cooked well- I would have preferred it more rare and accompanied with some unique flavours such as beetroot , berries and sweet potato
The crab risotto was delicious, I couldn’t really taste the coconut milk but the abundance of crab meat was very much appreciated !
The star of the mains was definitely the cauliflower gratin, I loved this dish to bits , so cheesy and perfect
Thanks for having us
This was my favourite restaurant in 2018! But the menu changed in 2019, so my boyfriend and I went back to have a taste of their new winter menu! It was pretty good and we ended up feeling really full. Very worth it for a restaurant which amazing ambience! 😍
With views this good, the expectations upon entering Berth were pretty high; and thankfully we weren't disappointed. In a prime position on the water at Docklands, Berth is a fantastic venue at any time, but I particularly love it at night as it's surrounded by glistening lights of the city which only adds to it's atmosphere. With it's proximity to sporting and concert arenas, it is often busy here, but that also adds to it's appeal. It is also a popular venue for functions, and with this kind of ambience, I can see why. The place is humming with happy diners on the night we dine here... big groups and couples alike, this place is for everyone.
We are welcomed warmly by the lovely wait staff and we settle in with some drinks while we await our meal. The decor is simple but elegant, with windows showcasing the Docklands sky line. The menu has some interesting options, and we start with mushroom arancini and fried polenta. Both these starters were deliciously crispy, salty and moreish. Neither the rice or polenta were stodgy, but instead had perfect textures. With accompanying sauces and aiolis they also had plenty of flavour.
Our mains consisted of snapper and beef fillet. The fish was beautifully cooked, with delicious, crispy skin and the beef was perfectly medium rare as requested, and both have just the right amount of seasoning. The vegetables alongside were also wonderful with the broccolini cooked al dente, and the mashed potatoes silky smooth.
For dessert we couldn't resist sticky date pudding, and it was so cute with it's ball of icecream on top. With plenty of sticky butterscotch sauce, this was the perfect winter dessert. To offset this we also chose the yogurt panacotta which was presented elegantly in a shallow dish. The ginger biscuits and fresh fruit added the necessary crunch and tartness to this dish, and the ginger spice was delicious. The panacotta itself was so rich and creamy and one of the best panacottas I've ever eaten at a restaurant.
It's evident that with a location this good that the team at Berth wanted to maximise the fabulous views and match them with beautiful food and exceptional service. After our recent dinner here I believe they have definitely exceeded that target and have created a dining experience that is something special.
With a really good view restaurant in docklands! Steak is eye fillet with medium well, calamari rings for start, the best chicken risotto with cheese is my favourite. Not bad!
Just gave the shop a visit last weekend because my fav shop was full but it was unexpectedly great. It was first impressed by the view and decor of the restaurant. Nice location next to the harbor. I was seated next to window. I was too hungry so I ordered a seafood board and 250gr steak while my friend had 300gr one. We couldn’t finish all. The seafood tastes fresh but the only dish I dont really like is calamari. It was soft and not crispy. However, the steak was not bad. I love the sweet and tangy sauce. It was a good experience and the service was professional
I remember went to Berth 7 years ago for a first date and it was amazing! Havent been many times over the years and decided to go again today.
It was a beautiful winter day and the wait staff let me sit by the window which was a bonus. Ordered the seafood linguine and it was soooo good. So much prawn, calamari and mussels. Noodles was delicious and sauce was beautiful. They added on a bit of parmesan to your choice as well!
Dessert I had the lemon tart. Well balanced, not too sweet at all. Their Chai is nice and smooth as well, perfect for finishing a winter day lunch. Will be back more now I know that it was still so so good!
Service was also really friendly and attentive! Great experience today!!
Perfect location in the docklands for a date night. So romantic with beautiful views. The staff are lovely here and very attentive. A great menu with a lot of classics which are really well priced. Good flavours through the dishes. The portion sizes were quite generious and we were overall content with the three course meal we ordered. Great cocktails and great dessert to finish we left pretty happy. **Disclaimer: although the restaurant has generously invited me to their restaurant this review is still based on my genuine opinion.
Situated on the New Quay Promenade in Docklands, Berth is a modern Australian restaurant that offers a delicious range of modern food with incredible views of the waterside.
We were greeted by two friendly staff members who showed us to our table and immediately asked us whether we would like to order drinks. The ambiance was calm and relaxing and the decor was nice with large windows.
We ordered the Warm Focaccia, Truffled Mushroom Arancini, the Snapper Fillet with Hawkes potato, lemon and caper butter with braised fennel and Eye Fillet Steak with black Angus and mash potato and jus. For sides we had chips with aioli and broccolini with pecorino. Finally for dessert we had the Sticky Date Pudding with warm butterscotch sauce and vanilla bean ice cream.
The Truffled Mushroom Arancini balls were beautiful - they had a crunchy outside and oozed out with hot and flavoursome mushroom. The Eye Fillet Steak was cooked to perfection and was accompanied with a beautifully rich and creamy mash. The Snapper Fillet was extremely tasty and went extremely well with the caper butter and braised fennel. It was a very filling dish and left me feeling very satisfied.
The chips were crunchy, hot and fluffy - just how they should be! And went great with the aioli sauce. The broccolini was cooked well and went great with the steak and fish.
It’s easy to see why Berth is such a favourite on the New Quay Promenade. Tonight’s dining experience will be definitely one to remember!
2 course meal from the set menu for a client dinner.
The vegetarian gnocchi was fantastic, client loved the eye fillet. Service was impeccable.
Excellent tasty food, stunning views. Food portions are quite small and they’re rather expensive but still amazing. I suppose you pay for the location as well.
one of my favourite restaurants in docklands! staff are so incredibly friendly, the service is excellent and the food is amazing. i ordered the chicken parmigiana ($22) which comes with wedges and a garden salad. it was really nice and i couldnt really fault it. for dessert i had the sticky date pudding ($14) which was served with butterscotch sauce and icecream with a popcorn praline. i also ordered a hot chocolate made with soy milk ($4.50). the sticky date had some small hard bits in it which was kind of unpleasant, but other than that it was a great dish. the sauce was really light and had a nice flavour. my table also ordered the white chocolate creme brûlée, which i didn’t try but was told it was nice. service was reasonably quick for how busy the restaurant was, and the waitress was always there if we needed our water refilled. prices for all of the meals are reasonable too, as well as the great view of the water from anywhere you sit. will definitely return :-)
My Family celebrated a birthday on ANZAC Day here at ‘Berth’, Docklands. We had lunch here. The staff were very attentive to our needs and was very friendly. We ordered the Glazed pork chop, Fish n chips, Harissa spiced chicken and Lamb shank. What a treat! We all loved our food there; the food was amazing. To top it off, we were served with a birthday cake at the end, sticky date pudding, by the restaurant. Thank you ‘Berth’ for making this a Special Day for us. 🙏🏽 Shout out to the bar lady who made my ‘Lycheetini’ with 2 lychees. This was my highlight only because this is the first place I have found in Melbourne that had my favourite drink on their menu. My drink was ‘ON POINT’ so I had to get a second! Thank you Berth and more power to your restaurant!!! I definitely do recommend this place to anyone. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I had a wonderful experience Sat 20/4 at the Berth for my 40th!!
From the girls in the office, to the kitchen, to the floor, I can’t fault a thing.
You all made it so easy and accomodating for us.
Kudos to a wonderful Berth team!
Amazing food and view!!
Staff were very attentive and helpful.
The breakfasts were so big and delicious best mushrooms I’ve ever eaten they tasted like steak, asked the girl how they were cooked and she said everything is done on the grill. Perfect
Really difficult trying to choose a suitsble restaurant with all the options around the southgate area. Berth was one of the few places that really stood out with the busy Bar at the entrance. The service was great, the waitress was very knowledgable and was able to accommodate all our dietry requirements.
I ordered the Salomon with some Kilpatrick oysters on the side, overall presentation was good and the taste was spectacular. Would definitely recommend this place if you're around the crown area in melborune.
Beautiful location and fantastic staff. The food was great and the seafood was fresh. Also good value for money- almost all mains under $30.
This place is next level!! Friendly staff who always look after you and make sure you have a great experience. The seafood platter was shared among four people as a starter and it was delicious, cooked perfectly. You have to try their dessert menu too, very yummy 😋
Prime waterfront location (tick), quick & friendly service (tick) and fresh food made with good produce (tick)!! I am honestly extremely happy with this cafe/ restaurant and would most certainly return again. Good for large groups or couples. The menu has a nice variety and they serve Prana Chai!! No syrup substitutes here!
Absolutely lovely people and beautiful service. Such a nice place and good food. They’re just so kind it’s amazing. Loved this place will come back.
I visited Berth recently and I loved it. Docklands can be a bit tricky to get to with some construction in the area but we had some lovely seafood to start, the scallops were delicious and a perfectly cooked steak with a flavourful jus as a main. The view is lovely too. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.
This crab risotto was insanely good! Like I want a bowl right now and I’m considering driving all the way there... anywho don’t mind my fixation @berth_restaurantevents is a beautiful restaurant set on the waterfront at Docklands. It’s views are amazing at night with the water and boats docked! Their food is just as amazing and delicious, Australian/Italian dishes, great wine list and service is very personable. Of course I have my typical side of Oysters but there was heaps to choose from off the menu. Great for small and large groups, even saw a wedding reception held there which means whoever you come with you’ll fit right in.
+ Stunning restaurant and views, great fresh food and wonderful service
- Food and seating us was a bit slow, ambiance (music) could be improved
Great location right on the waterfront. Staff were very friendly & efficient, we didn’t have to wait long for our meals & the restaurant was very busy.
We shared the seafood platter, seafood was very fresh. Our mains were delicious & the desserts were a standout - especially the chocolate honey pot.
A great place to relax, have a drink & enjoy great food!

Lovely family dinner at Berth last weekend. The food was nice, but the view was probably the most special part of the experience. The Pimm’s cocktail was sweet and didn’t taste too alcoholic which was nice. The calamari was thicker than I would have liked. The Angus steak was a bit unevenly cooked but the flavour of the jus and the chips were nice.
Fo0die dined as a guest of Berth and as such, the rating does not give any consideration to customer service.
We arrived at the waterfront venue Berth on a Friday evening after work just in time to catch the sun as it was setting. This was my third visit, having been twice before for work farewell lunches and Mr J’s first.
The weather’s getting warmer and it’s making me crave cocktails on the river! Enter Berth at Docklands, serving up delicious drinks and food by the water. Even walking up to the restaurant, it’s an amazing construction of glass and metal that lets in abundant light and allows all diners to enjoy the beautiful view of the city over the water. They do a lot of event catering as well – I recently attended a wedding there which was lovely.
Exceeded my expectations by far. The food was lovely and well balanced. The scallops were the highlight as we ordered 2 serves as well as the beef with the creamy mash. The service was average to above average but at times seemed to me a bit all over the place but nevertheless had a wonderful time. Great job guys
We went to Berth to simply for a coffee. The desert plate was a bonus. The desert was good accept the ice cream. It was already soft when it arrived.
Coffees. We had to change it three times as they didn’t get it right twice. Later found out that the barrister left early so the manager was trying to get it right.
Overall, it was great.
Berth is located in New Quay at the Docklands and has to be the most beautiful venue I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. It’s located on the water & the views are incredible. The interior is spacious with high ceilings & stunning lighting with all round views of the water & surrounding areas. I was so impressed with the details, a modern fit out which is perfect for events & functions as well as lunches & intimate dining.
We visited as part of their burgers & craft beer selection so naturally had to try the burgers. I ordered the Wild Mushroom burger which was undoubtedly one of the best veggie burgers I’ve tried. Served on a beetroot bun & filled with field mushrooms, a squashed arancini, halloumi cheese with roquette, garlic aioli and chilli jam. Such an explosion of flavours & textures, the squashed arancini was totally unique & the chilli jam was a highlight, sweet & sticky with a kick of chilli.
I couldn’t resist ordering the linguine marinara as it’s one of my favourite dishes. This version was the best I’ve ever had, it was light & fresh & the seafood was cooked to perfection. It was also presented beautifully, I would highly recommend trying it if you visit.
With such an extensive menu, we barely scratched the surface so I’ll definitely need to return and try some more. The service was friendly & attentive, Charlotte in particular made our visit such a memorable experience. Thank you so much for having us.
Great on the waterfront docklands restaurant, friendly, polite staff.food was very good comfort style.
Would highly recommend dropping in on a summer day.
We came to Berth for a family birthday and had the set menu. The staff were fabulous. The food was all delicious and all 17 of us were very satisfied. Great portions, didn't have to wait long for meals and the staff gave us plenty of time to mingle and order when we were ready. Arron was an amazing waiter- Everyone really impressed with the service. Would definitely recommend for large groups! The set menu still had plenty of options and they accommodated well for dietary requirements. Will be back! Thanks so much to the Berth team :)
All the food we had was delicious, the wait staff were friendly, the view fabulous, and everything was reasonably priced. My friends and I had a lovely time - I highly recommend it!
A relaxing yet classy Docklands venue, Berth is on of the best Melbourne restaurants for food with views, without dropping in the area of quality. They serve up a delicious modern Australian menu, that spans both breakfast, lunch and dinner, featuring a multitude of fresh seafood dishes (my personal favourites), as well as a wide range of delicious cocktails! A 2-storey space, including an outdoor area overlooking the harbour makes it a great Melbourne dining spot suited to any occasion.
One of the best places to take visitors from overseas, to experience Melbourne’s food and coffee. Service is top notch, very polite and friendly staff. Beer on tap selections were uncommon - I enjoyed it with the mezze board. Lovely prepared mains - wagyu was awesome. Oh did I say the ambience and views were amazing? Definitely this one is in my list of fave Restos.
Celebrated my friend’s berth-day (haha, get it?) here the other night. Realistically I’d probably give it 4.5. I ordered the lamb shanks for my main and chocolate honey pot for dessert. The lamb shanks were very nice actually, with the meat falling off the bone and presented so beautifully atop a bed of garlic mash. The mash’s saltiness complimented the meat’s natural sweetness and the tomato purée it was combined with, although I found there was ample of this remaining once I finished (as much as I could that is) it. Perhaps if I had some bread this sauce wouldn’t have gone to waste. I was initially set on a pasta although I wasn’t a fan of gnocchi in general and don’t eat duck so hopefully we get some more variations in future. I absolutely adored the dessert. I wasn’t sure what to expect of it but what came out was a chocolate mousse with a cookie soil on top and some honeycomb bits. This only reignited my love affair with chocolate. I sampled my friend’s yoghurt panna cotta, raspberry sorbet and creme brûlée too as she got the share board. While the panna cotta was a little on the wetter side (didn’t have the trademark jiggle), the creme brûlée was amazing. I also tried some of the homemade vegetable gnocchi which had a beautiful burst of flavours to it. Service wise, I felt it fell just a tad flat but it was late night so everyone’s a little tired. The waitress did serve my friend’s dessert with a sparkler though which was a nice surprise. Didn’t eat everything in the pictures attached but thought I’d include them anyway.
UPDATE I was excited to be invited to Berth as I had been there once before a few years ago and was intrigued to see how it stacked up. Turns out the cocktails and ambiance are just as phenomenal as ever. The lemon tart has had a bit of a makeover and looks even more stunning then it did previously. The menu has been updated also and in this occasion we were loving the steak and Moroccan chicken mains.
The gorgeous sharing plate is an obligatory starter too. For stunning views and delicious food it still fits the bill
The sun came out for a total of ten minutes (Melbourne springtime where you at?) so we decided to sit outside and enjoy the stunning water views. What a gorgeous space! Beautiful glass windows and a delightful ambiance- this is probably the nicest place to dine in Docklands. The lovely atmosphere suited our occasion perfectly, lunch to celebrate a friends engagement. In fact the only complaint I can make is an irritatingly obtrusive waiter as the food was sensational.
There was a serious variety of options and range of price points to suit all. I had the chicken and avocado pasta which was delightful and a strawberry daiquiri because why the hell not?! Yum town..
The lemon tart was a colossal serving which I absolutely refused to share. Throughly delectable and a lovely zingy way to finish the meal. If you have something coming up what an amazing venue for an event!
Great service with warm attentive staff, awesome location by the river. Food was delicious and fresh, the calamari was to die for. only thing I could fault on the food was that the bacon on the kilpatricks wasn't cooked enough but they were good otherwise.
It’s a good place to enjoy your dinner with a view of the Yarra river, good atmosphere and very good and friendly service.I tried the warm salmon salad fresh and tasty with a Malbec from Victoria Melbourne (Arturo) and it was very good..the menu offers you wines from Australia,NZ,Italy and France...( I missed any Chilean wine) by glass or bottle.I recommend this place of course I do!
A very nice secluded cafe/restaurant away from the city, but still close to the city.
The decor inside was upscaled.
We were seated outside by the water, and had breakfast. The staff were very laid back, food was average. The downside was the sourdough bread that came with our breakfast meals... they were quite thin compared to normal toast..
Would come visit again but, i would try the dinner menu next time!
Great location! Love the amazing service and scrumptious food! Oysters were really fresh! Celebrated my birthday here 2 years continuously :)
Friendly staff & flavoursome food with good serving- really enjoyed it. Ordered chorizo and mussel risotto- very nice with the hint of lemon. My husband had the marinara linguine, the pasta was cooked really well. Definitely going back 😊
Came here for a family birthday dinner, the staff were very helpful and friendly. We ordered the seafood antipasto board which had a variety of seafood for us to taste although would probably suite 2-3 max. Though a little pricey and small, all the fish was fresh and delicious.
For main I ordered the Harissa baked chicken with smashed potatoes and beetroot salad. The food was delicious but unfortunately a little on the smaller side again which meant being a little peckish still after eating. The restaurant over all has a spectacular view over the water and had great service but not ideal for those who have a bigger appetite.
Gorgeous view of the city and beautiful food. I came here for NYE with my partner and we ordered a seafood platter which was delicious. My partner ordered lamb shanks and I ordered the Queensland King prawns. Everything is cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend.

Popped in today for a very early lunch at around 10:30 am & chose their Spaghetti Marinara (prawns, calamari, mussels, fish pieces, cherry tomatoes, garlic, chilli, fresh herbs & olive oil) for $26.00, followed by a dessert of White Chocolate Brûlée with with a mixed berry Capote for $14.00. The main was just okay, I've had better marinara elsewhere & was served hot within 15 minutes of ordering. The dessert was absolutely delicious and very appealing to the eye. The service provision was very good by waiter Dillon.
The Juror's Verdict: Food 3.5/5, Service Provision 4/5, Will I return: possibly

Berth is beautifully located beside Docklands. The interior is sleek, modern and very spacious. The view is just as grand. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was marvellous and enjoyable however the portions were too small for their price point. Food ordered included:
> Mediterranean antipasto board
> Spring Bay mussels
> Chicken parmigiana
> Eye fillet steak
> Harissa spiced chicken
> Brocollini & grain salad
> Atlantic Salmon
> Berth's dessert board
Enjoy this bright, airy and modern space with floor to ceiling glass windows that offer a tranquil and picturesque view of New Quay Marina.
The coconut and green chilli scrambled eggs with creamy feta was a great start to the morning. The chilli was mild and didn't have much kick but good for adding flavour. My friend enjoyed her sauteed mushrooms on toast and particularly liked the novelty of the crumbed egg.
Polite service throughout the meal but the draw card surely is the view.
We attended on a weekday late lunch and table choice was ours. The weather was perfect making the outdoor seating area sublime. This was equally matched by the food and service. Will definitely visit again soon.
Couldn’t rate the service and friendliness of the staff at Berth highly enough. We were a huge group of 11 who walked in without a reservation, we were greeted with smiles and nothing was too much trouble.
The food was excellent and great value for money. Seafood platter, supercharged breakfast salad and Asian beef salad highly recommended.
Absolutely recommend this place.

Enjoyed waterside dining here at Berth. Perfect location! 🤩 lots of table!
The staff was really nice, kept asking us if everything was alright or if we needed anything.
Food was great and the portion was quiet big comparing to some restaurants. We’ve ordered
- Mezze board (love beetroot dip)
- spring bay mussels
- eye fillet steak
- Queensland king prawn
However, the steak could have been better as it was a bit dry for medium rare.
We love the honey pot dessert! Just amazing !
Very very very nice food and amazing service.
Have never been somewhere with such polite staff and very very well trained.
Went for my anniversary and they surpised us with a amazing cake and candles. Very well done guys
Lovely Modern Australian-style meals, pretty good service, great comfortable ambiance. Berth is also quite spacious with minimalist-style decor. It has an outdoor seating area and, of course, an amazing view of Docklands, making it perfect for functions.
Came here on a special occasion with my fiancé, ordered the muscles and the calamaris for the entree. It was delicious! Flavours were all there and presentation was there :)
Best entree I had in a while too.
For our mains we had the lamb shank and the wagu steak. It was delicious! Definitely recommend it!
The meet was so tender and the flavours worked so well in both dishes. The croquets that came with the wagu steak main was delicious too!
The staff were fantastic.
Recommend anyone to come here and check it out for a nice relaxed dinner with an amazing waterfront view :)
Will be back again.
A beautiful restaurant in Docklands, love the view whether it's during the day or night time. Been here a few times already. Food is good, lovely presentation, not too expensive. Customer service is ok, depending on who's serving you. Nice place for romantic dinner or celebration.
Located on the boardwalk of the Docklands, Berth is a great choice for a gorgeous lunch with a view or a stunning dinner. Facing on to the water, the environment is extremely serene and on a sunny day the vibes of the boats are gorgeous. While you are faced with rather heightened prices, we do believe that the view and experience is well worth it.
The mushroom arrancini balls were simply gorgeous- complex in taste and aromatic in flavour they really are the perfect starter. For mains we ordered the salmon fillet and the avocado breakfast dish (breakfast is available until 5pm) with a side of smoked salmon. The salmon fillet was great however we would have liked to see a more generous serving of cauliflower mash. The dish felt overpowered by the aioli on the side rather than being complimented by different flavours. The Avo dish was great and we loved the goats cheese it came with. Coffees were very decent but our best thing was most certainly the dessert sharing platter! Not just loading with colour and items, the desserts were decadent and delicious. The meringues melted in our mouths, the white creme brûlée was amazing, the sorbets were crisp and fresh and the honeycomb pot was gorgeous! We highly recommend Berth if searching for a place to dine and willing to indulge a bit in the Docklands.
Service was very attentive and friendly. We had a family meal of ten and everything went smoothly.
The food was good, coffee not so great. But it's ok, plenty of cafe for coffee I guess.
The family enjoyed the lunch. Also great for Muslim as they serve halal dishes
Wonderful service, lovely staff, great food & decent servings, food came out very quick! We both had the steak at it was cook perfectly. Will be back for sure.
Love berth! Always great service, friendly efficient staff & nice fresh food that you never have to wait too long for. We love coming here!!
by F.E.E.D. | Sep 2, 2017 | Breakfast and Brunch, Desserts, Dinner, Docklands, Lunch, RESTAURANTS AND CAFES | 0 comments. They say that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Well, Berth: Restaurant & Events proves them wrong by continuing to appeal to both old and new customers with their contemporary style and waterside views, ever since its inception twelve years ago. Sitting confidently next to it’s more recent and casual counterpart, Cargo, both venues remain the most consistently frequented venues along this part of New Quay Promenade.
Always eat at this place and so far not once have i
disappointed. Fine dining at its best. The water view calming. Keep up the good work Berth.
With such a spectacular view and great food you can't go wrong! The service was something else and the staff were so accommodating despite us been late for our reservation! Everyone was raving about the quality of their meals! The highlights were the lamb shank and the shared platter to start! For such a brilliant setting and ambiance we found the prices surprisingly reasonable and will definitely be back!
Coffee and breakfast was delicious. We sat by the window and enjoyed the warmth and coziness of the fire. Service was great and overall - an awesome start to the day.
Really love the vibe here. The staff just get it, the food has never failed me and prices are also on point. The calamari salad is light but really filling, the Harissa chicken is out of this world with its combination of flavours, and the scenery is just the perfect compliment to this restaurant.

Docklands is absolutely beautiful on a sunny day and this restaurant places you in an ideal location right next to the water, it's such an amazing view! The food was truly delicious and I'm generally picky with seafood - highlights: truffle arancini, scallops and the mussels. Everything was really fresh and tasty. Definitely worth going to! And I'll be back.
We were so excited when we received a lunch invitation from Berth. We had heard great things about the food and the overall dining experience so we were really looking forward to experiencing it ourselves.
Upon arrival, we were seated by the window by the lovely staff. The restaurant boasts some fantastic views of the Docklands area surrounded by the tranquil water and million dollar yachts. We all said it would be a great place to take your first date.
We started off with the Mediterreanan antipasto platter to share. Every mouthful was delicious and we devoured marinated eggplant and artichokes, olives and brioche style garlic bread, salami and risotto balls. We also ordered the meatballs in a rich sugo with housemade grissini.
The main courses then arrived and they looked like every food photographers dream! Two of us opted for the seafood dishes being the Spaghetti marinara and the Queensland King Prawns. The other dish selected was the Lamb Shanks. They were polished off with a pink Moscato.
My friend commented that the Spaghetti marinara was delicious and by far the tastiest she had in a long time, every mouthful of prawns, calamari and mussels was amazing.
I ordered the Queensland King Prawns which were chargrilled and dressed with Pernod vinaigrette and tarragon in a delicious Nicoise Salad. It was so delicious that I was tempted to order it again.
My friend had the Lamb Shanks and said the lamb was so tender and flavoursome.
By this stage we were full but when we saw Berth's dessert platter we just could not resist.
This dessert platter had a wide selection of classic desserts - chocolate cake, creme brulee, meringues, a generous helping of lemon tart (this was an extra!) and a helping of ice cream and strawberries. We were all in dessert heaven.
Berth did not disappoint and we would highly recommend the restaurant whether it's for a first date, anniversary or any special occasion. Prices are average for this upmarket restaurant ranging between $20.00 -$36.00 for main courses.
It's very friendly and welcoming and most importantly the food is amazing.
Thank you for a wonderful dining experience Berth. We will certainly be coming again!
Located along the waterfront in Docklands, Berth restaurant is a lovely place to stop by for a relaxing meal. Their menu covers from breakfast through to dinner. And with fantastic views you will want to visit at anytime of the day. We stopped by mid morning and headed in for something to eat. The dishes we chose were the Seasonal avocado, the Harissa spiced chicken, the yogurt panna cotta and we couldn't go past filling our sweet needs with Berth's dessert board.
The seasonal avocado was a delicious dish with lots of fresh ingredients. The avo was lovely and smooth and went well with the pickled beetroot and feta. The Harissa spiced chicken was plated well and had great flavours throughout. The crushed potatoes were very yummy. The yogurt panna cotta was creamy and smooth. Berths dessert board had a fantastic selection of desserts. They were all delicious. There might have been some clashing of the spoons with who could get the most gelato to themselves!
We enjoyed our time there and felt relaxed while enjoying our meal. The atmosphere inside has a great feel and the service was wonderful.
It's a place that we would definitely revisit.
Thank you Berth restaurant for looking after us.
Good service and delicious food! Enjoyed the entree with different dips and had the chorizo and mussel risotto, chicken spices and pomegranate, and a decadent molten chocolate cake to share for dessert. Loved how the restaurant overlooks the waterfront. One of the good restaurants on docklands!
LIT⭐️! Everything here! From the mains to desserts to the view and atmosphere, everything was superb. It's one of my fave places for big outings and romantic dinners.
NOT SO LIT: dinner>lunch menu
Nice ambience located at new quay. Beautiful view overlooking the wharf. Australian cuisine big portion. Only serving one menu throughout the day. Taste is good.
Awesome weekend brekky spot (pretty quiet at 9am on a Sunday) Quick, friendly service and nice coffee. 100 times better than Cargo nextdoor.
Went to Berth with the bride and other bridesmaids the night before the wedding. For a cold wintery night, Berth was very warm and inviting, and the view of Docklands at night was also lovely and relaxing. We ordered the Mediterranean antipasto plate to share for starters - the arancini were delicious! To follow I ordered the gnocchi ragu and it didn't disappoint, the meat was slightly chewy but the gnocchi made up for it. Highly recommended!
Food review:
🛒Lamb shanks: braised in rosemary tomato sugo with creamy garlic mash potato ($26).
Food review:
🏙The lamb was incredibly soft, falling apart on the plate as the knife made a lacklustre effort to cut through. The creamy potato mash complimented it nicely, creating a fluffy texture against the mellow chewiness of the lamb. Came back in 2018 to have it again!
Additional reccommendations:
The garlic bread ($6) and that was an amazing appetizer; fragrant and mouthwatering. On the other hand,
Potato croquettes ($8) didn't suit our tastes nor did the steak sanga burger ($20) leave anything to be desired.
Crumbed calamari with tartare sauce, rocket, capers and onions ($18) was delicious. Crunchy yet also pliant.
Service:
Service was fun, with the waiters happy to play along to me and my mate's banter. Although we went on a Tuesday night around 7, a large portion of the restaurant was relatively empty - a shame since the overall experience was great but the food was a hit/miss.
In 2018 went during the summer and the views were stunning. It really makes you appreciative of Melboune as a city.
We were off to a brilliant start with the Meatballs. Stunningly presented, the meatballs were topped with melted mozarella and sat in a pool of richly flavoured, full-bodied tomato sugo. Chomping down on each ball, we were rewarded with incredibly soft and juicy meat that was coarsely grounded, provided good texture yet almost melted in your mouth. The aromatic beef flavour was perfectly accompanied by the sweetness of the tomatoes, while the crunch of the grissini provided a variation in texture. Simply delicious.
Dinner at Berth surely didn’t disappoint. With stunningly presented food that delivered on both taste and beauty, Berth flawlessly fuses modern execution with time-tested and traditional dishes to create an amazing sensory experience.
Dinner out with the boys at its finest as we picked Berth as our destination.👌
Not only an impressive view but even a better welcome at the door. Dilep seated us at our table and looked after us super well all night.😊
We ordered the Mediterranean Board, Kangaroo Fillet, Lamb Shanks and their Eye Fillet Steak. The food arrived super quickly and we were very impressed with the quality of it.😍
The mains were absolutely gorgeous, perfectly cooked and rich in flavour and textures. Our dining experience was flawless: from service to food. We left full and very happy after a beautiful night out.😀
Thank you for having us 🙏
My friend took me here for my birthday. Glass windows makes the view and dining experience quite enjoyable already. I ordered the lamb shanks and it was perfection for me. Seasoned well. Tender. Beautiful. Presented very well and their sweet wine is great too! Had a dessert platter to share which was so pretty to look at and to finish off our meal was perfect. They even put a candle in for my birthday which was nice of them. Friendly service!
Love this place. Has an exceptional view of the harbour with ceiling windows.
Great location and food selection.
I had brunch here and was really impressed with the staff quality.
They are also quite flexible in altering the menu to suit your needs.
It was also my parents anniversary so the guys decided to throw in a free dessert with sparkles. It was very thoughtful and kind of them.
I would definitely recommend checking this place out of you haven't yet.
The resturant is also kids friendly with kids selection menu.
Perfect place to mingle with friends with great food and service.
Had the beef cheek and the lamb shank. Both are good, and the lamb is better. Nice and quick service. Perfect view! The chocolate cake is good too. May want to back for something new.
Good Service , view and food. Good place to spend a nice summer evening wit sunset view. I had the seafood spaghetti- it was really good. The only we didn’t like wild mushroom arancini balls. The zucchini fries were good too.
A nice place to for sunset dinner. Had made a reservation, we were actually late so I had to call them that we’re running late and they said it wouldn’t be a problem. We had a celebration here for our friend’s birthday, and our wait staff is the best! She helped us with the birthday surprise, got us extra plates for the cake, and even got us a drink that were not on the menu (it was just a plain lemonade but still it wasn’t on the menu but they made it anyway). The food was really good and has reasonable price. Would come back here again!
Excellent water side location in the Docklands. Strongly recommended.
Excellent menu, great service. Order by QR code or personal service. Steaks delicious plus a great seafood spaghetti dish.
On a good weather day there is lots of water craft and yachts cruising around. Parking an issue, but tram from city stops about 5 minutes walk.
Fantastic service, all floor and bar staff including chefs deserve recognition for their speed, attention to detail of the food and drinks and what they brought to the table. I highly recommend this place especially for families. Thankyou for a memorable evening. Love from Sydney.
Very friendly staff, nice cozy atmosphere and awesome food. Garlic bread was 10/10, we ended up getting two hah. Pricing was very good as well in our opinions, cocktails were lovely according to my partner. We ordered for entrees 2 garlic bread
and the gin cured salmon and and mains gnocchi ragu bolognaise, soft shell crab burger. For dessert between three of us we got the hot chocolate brownie with raspberry sorbet.
The picture of the brownie is us half demolishing it before we grabbed a picture hah
This was purely a fluke selection of restaurants and what a stroke of genius it was too. Straight away, the ambience inside and out made a terrific impact being right on the waters edge with the city lights in the background. Then came our wonderful host, who was friendly, professional and sweet. She took us to our table by the window and the dining began. The menu was a little challenging to read in the low light but we got through it. Entrees was Wild mushroom arancini balls(3) with a light, sweet sauce. Then came mains, I had the chicken risotto. Rice with roasted pine nuts, crispy sage and the most tender chicken I have ever had in a beautiful creamy sauce. ABSOLUTELY delicious. Highly recommend it. The wife had the fish and chips with just the right amount of tartar sauce but she added parmesan cheese to it. WOW, what a stroke of brilliance. SENSATIONAL. We finished off with a shared Sticky date pudding with icecream and mini chocolate balls. YUMMY. Personalised, friendly and attentive service combined with a SENSATIONAL menu, what more could you want. A huge thanks to all the staff. We will be back.
