Review Royal Stacks - Melbourne

AlienZzz
Burgers were really good, milkshake was average. I got the tower so I was expecting it to be much bigger however my son demolished it within a few minutes. Their sauce was cutting a bit too close to the big mac sauce other than that the meat was juicy and on point. Not disappointed but it's not my go to for the price. Worth the try.

Great burgers. I personally recommend just the single stack burger. The sauce is very delicious. I shall do my very best to replicate it and am certainly going to fail šŸ¤£ Below scores are out of 10 Customer Service 8 Food Quality 8 Atmosphere 8 Presentation 9 Products 8 Location 9 Overall 8

Good food, good drinks. Came out quickly and was hot. Only downfall was a bit oily and too much sauce. Staff were lovely and the place has a good atmosphere.

Royal stacks can be considered your normal burger place. Good for anyone who doesnā€™t want to dine at a Maccas or Hungry Jacks. The burgers are priced fairly and tastes a pretty good as well. The beef cheese fries was a let down as it was a bit too soggy and didnā€™t go well. The burger was $12* and a decent quantity to it.

Comfortable atmosphere, affordable prices, and quick order turn around time. As far as the burger experience goes, you would be hard pressed to taste a better burger. When a burgers first bite tastes as good as its last. You know you've got a winner.

Lots of options | The chicken burger was delicious. Soft Bun and lots of mayo | wouldā€™ve been good to have some veg just to balance all the chicken

Royal Stacks is the perfect place for a delicious and tasty midweek dinner. The burgers are great & if you're looking to spice up your night even more we recommend ordering one of our favorite dishes: Kavorka Chicken Burger or Cheesy Fries! Staff were super friendly, we waited outside while our food for cooking and they brought it out for us. Highly recommend.

Randomly stumbled upon this gem. Really good food and service. Easy to order at the table via your phone. The Miss Elizabeth burger was my favourite and the Kavorka was really good as well. We had the Bueno milkshake as the drink and some fries and onion rings on the side. Everything was really good. Highly recommend!!

Went here on Friday night 18.05.18 for our first dinner in Melbourne (from Adelaide), we were recommended by family that we should go here. Absolutely fantastic staff, even though it took us a little bit to decide what we wanted as itā€™s a different burger joint than anything in Adelaide, staff were patient and even recommended things to try. Ended up getting a Normal standard burger with cheese fries (the best thing I have probably ever tasted) and then my partner had a salted caramel frozen custard with snickers and I have the frozen Nutella custard with chrunchie and oh my god! Any chance of opening up a Royal Stacks in Adelaide? Thank you for a great meal and dessert it started our holiday off amazingly. ļæ½

I came to Royal Stacks when I was travelling for business and I was particularly grumpy (hangry!) when I arrived at the counter. The lady who served me was very friendly and explained what would be a good burger option for someone with my hunger level. In addition, her gentleman colleague was good enough to even provide table service when I was tired and weary (I think it's self service). Those additional touches and one of the nicest burgers I had eaten in a long time left a smile on my face as I proceeded to my hotel room for a sleep! Kudos to your Melbourne (Collins Street) staff! :)

Went into Royal Stacks today after trying a burger from them at the food truck festival in Ballarat a few weeks ago! One of the staff members on today also happened to be the same guy serving my girlfriend and I at the food truck festival and after noticing him he treated us with free tasters of two of their ice creams. Must admit we were thoroughly impressed with the service and I don't think I've experienced better customer service anywhere else, great burgers and great service, love your work guys!!
Angela Wellington
Delicious burger! I tried the Miss Elizabeth burger with an extra pattie and onions. Easily one of the best burgers I've ever eaten!!! Also the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to my next visit.
Iman Fakoua
Amazing food and even better service! I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves their burgers!
Sam Tyson
What a burger joint! Glad to find a joint that gave me the genuine "mmm mmm that is a tasty burger" experience that Samuel L Jackson had in Pulp Fiction.

Don't believe the hype! Went to chadstone eatery today. Waited for 20 minutes for my burger to be ready. Then bit into the fattiest beef patty. Won't be going ever again!! Highly disappointed. Definetly do not believe the hypeļæ½

Very impressed by the Brunswick store's service, food quality, and attention to detail. I'd made an offhand remark about enjoying crispy chicken while ordering the Kavorka, not only did the proprietor make the patty extra crispy, they also added an extra crispy fillet within the bag. Would highly recommend to anyone after a burger fix, and looking to support their local community.

Service was amazing, food was delicious and the gentleman even brang us out some free ice cream to try which was also delicious! Definitely will be recommending ļæ½

I came here 4 times while staying in Melbourne for the weekend, each time was refreshingly terrific service, coupled with literally some of the best burgers Iv tasted. 100% recommend visiting here!

I googled frozen custard Melbourne and was lucky enough to find Royal Stacks. The young man behind the counter was so helpful and allowed me to try every single flavour. I eventually plumped for the chocolate and the salted caramel flavours - both sensational! Having come from Sydney where there is no frozen custard I was delighted to find Royal Stacks. If you are after a taste sensation that is delicious and with a wonderful smooth texture, then don't miss this place. Royal Stacks - please open up in Sydney!!

Glorious 'King burger' and cheese loaded fries went down an absolute treat šŸ‘ŒšŸ»šŸ‘ŒšŸ» Couldn't fault it šŸ˜šŸ” Fast service and friendly staff, happy days!

One of the hardest burgers to beat. Compliments to the developers of such glorious, mouth watering goodness ! Looking for a night out or a cheat meal, you will not be disappointed.
Mitchell Dodd
Great burgers full of flavor and very filling and i strongly recommend the nutella frozen custard.
Jennifer Saha
The best truffle Mayo in Australia! Really amazed with the quality every time! Only downsize is the price is high and the Elizabeth burger is quite small.
Peter Akiki
Wow! Royal Stacks burgers are incredible! The patties are juicy and perfectly cooked. The flavours are an explosion in your mouth and the cheese is just WOW - especially the cheesy fries! This is a great dirty burger place and it deserves its 'Royal' name because it is that good. Customer service was brilliant and the menu is good with lots of different options to choose from. If you are in Melbourne and you like burgers - you have to visit this place!

Staff were so welcoming to us as we wandered in tired and hungry at lunch time. Brought my two kids (4&2) to the cbd to visit their Aunty and was so happy to find this place. Food was so yummy, quick service, great music, kids were made to feel welcome, such friendly service and very covid safe. Will definitely be visiting again.

I love royal stacks. Been to the one in Melbourne CBD & in Brunswick. Both are marvellous. I typically order a burger called ā€œThe Kingā€. The most delicious burger with mouthwatering beef and Mac and cheese. Very original ideas and they dress the burger perfectly. It is not messy to eat like most burgers, itā€™s filling and so satisfying. I have tried the fried chicken burgers and the originals, all are delicious and so yummy.

The atmosphere is great. Very cool unique decor around. CBD in particular have a great dining spot in the back with some retro vintage vibes. The crowd was younger with some schools kids. Also had some adult couples and even a family. Very diverse, a restaurant everyone would love.

The staff are absolutely sensational, theyā€™re positive energy is all around the room, with big personalities, very welcoming smiles and laughs. Can have a conversation as they are incredibly friendly and inviting. Definitely will continue eating here and highly recommend everyone to try. Great!!! šŸ‘ŒšŸ½šŸ‘ŒšŸ½šŸ‘ŒšŸ½

Staff are always so friendly! I absolutely love the food. The cheese fries are to die for and Itā€™s great value for money.
Gee
Just another overpriced CBD burger joint. I had the single stack and a salted caramel thick shake. The burger was nice but there wasnā€™t much of it and the bun wasnā€™t toasted. The thick shake was ok but hardly what Iā€™d call thick. Still rate 8Bit for my burgers and Fried And Tasty (FAT) for my shakes. $20 later and I was still hungry.
Miss_live_to_eat āœ”ļø
Somebody said they have the best burgers ever. Well, I won't say they were any less than one of the best I've ever tasted. They use a very good quality cheese which apparently they import. The burger size is small but it fills you up like anything. I'd recommend to go in a group so you can share fries which are impossible to eat by yourself along with the burgers. They are yum.
Taqimonster
It was delicious

The burgers could be improved heaps. They were juicy but no flavor. The bacon was more like rubber. Clearly the Bacon had been cooked earlier and had gone cold and hard. The fries are better at MC Donald's..... No offence meant but for the price charges and the quantity offered I would think they would be better than the Pre packed frozen ones.... Clearly these have been cooked BUT not made at the shop
Maz Bell [hangrymaz]
Great experience at CBD royal stack. Good service. Awesome food cooked perfectly! Ordered the current special - the dutchess which was absolutely amazing with super crunchy fried chicken peices matched with great flavors from the pickles and delicious spicy cajun mayo on a fresh potato bun! Such a killer burger that I will 100% be coming back for real soon! Highly Recommend!
GlennM
Not bad. Nothing to make them stand out from the crowd of great burger places in Melbourne though. But nothing awful about them either. Worth a try.
Mohammed Tabbaa
The meat had tiny pieces of bones in it and it was disgusting and I hurt my teeth
Priscilla Yeo
Had the ā€œsaintā€ burger and was satisfied with the portion! The patties were cooked really well, and the cheese and toppings were great too. Not much ā€˜wowā€™ effect but was happy with it :)

What a burger . The beef patty is so juicy succulent yet full of flavours . The chips are nice and fresh with the right amount of salt .
Coming back to the burger - patty is perfect medium , bun is nice firm - doesnā€™t crumble or get bigger than the patty .
Add crisp bacon and you know what I mean .

Ordered The King for delivery, arrived slightly soggy in the bun portion but to be expected when eating takeaway. The Mac and cheese croquette was amazing and accompanied by the special burger sauce really made the burger a feast! Portion was quite generous and definitely looking forward to trying other burgers on the menu.

Went with my work colleague during lunch hour, first time visit to this establishment. Gentleman at the counter was friendly and helpful; though I find that not having food delivered to your table isnā€™t ideal. First impression on the saint burger was good, large, speaking on the eye. Thought the Mac & cheese croquet could have been moister, whilst the beef patty, bun and other ingredients were good - clearly the highlight of the establishment. The French dries I though were mediocre whilst the onion rings were fine. The Tim Tam milkshake was alright without being amazing. If youā€™re looking for a burger, this place is suitable; wouldnā€™t go overboard on sides though; decent place but probably wouldnā€™t be back in a rush.

Hands down to one of the best burgers Iā€™ve ever had!
HEARD Magazine
We had fries, we had shakes but most importantly we had burgers we got The King (beef patty, tomato, lettuce, mac. & cheese croquette, mustard, special burger sauce), The Kavorka (crispy fried chicken, cheesy sauce, coleslaw,. pickles, chipotle mayo) and they. gave us a little something special, something we like the call The House Stack

Tasty burgers. The size is bit on smaller size.
Lovefood
I like their onion ring, not too oily and tasty batter, the cheese sauce too salty though. The single stack burger is just okay. Friendly staff and great service.

I had already tried the burgers and sides here. They were all delicious, great comfort food.
The interior of Royal Stacks was very bright and colourful. I tried the cookie dough sold here and they were very sweet. I enjoyed the raspberry and white chocolate flavour.
Audrey Kate
The staff are very friendly. However, burger lacked flavour and cheesy fries were tasteless and soggy. Decent but not the best burger/fries Iā€™ve had
Eat Good Melbourne
We came here specifically to try the frozen custard as me and the boyfriend are major custard lovers. I think Iā€™ve finally found something better than ice cream. It was so creamy and perfectly sweet. Super impressed!
Caroline
Had the double stack burger with melted cheesey fries. Burger is pretty good, bun is sweet and patty is juicy. Chips or the fries are delicious too. The only downside is service time can be real slow.
Whalesfoodadventure
Ordered prince harry, single stack, cheese fries, gems, bueno milkshake. The milkshakes and frozen custards are real tasty and just melts in your mouth in every sip. Burgers are also packed with flavour. The meat pattys are real juicy.
Tinmans Treats
A contender for one of my favourite burger places in Melbourne. A slick operation, I love their burgers and fries. All I'll say is that you need to wear the stretchy pants, and leave room in your day for a nap because there will be a food baby.Ā

In terms of burgers, I tend to go for 'The King' or 'The Saint', depending if I feel like extra carbs in my burg with the mac n cheese croquette. The chilli cheese fries are particularly amazing.Ā

If you haven't been to Royal Stacks and you're a Melburnian.... GET ON IT.
SuziEats
Ok so this is my fave burger joint in Melbourne! The burgers are insanely good. I usually go for the Miss Elizabeth with choice of one of their many milkshakes. The restaurant is fun and modern and has great decor.
Derrick Lim
Ordered bacon bacon, the bread is soft, patty meat is tender, juicy and amazing, bacon stays crispy and easy to chew even when dipped with sauce and cheeze, which makes it clean to eat, unlike other burger that makes bacon mess up everything inside. Fries is fair and so so. Burger is 5 stars!!

Been to royal stack on collins street so many times.. iā€™ve been to the chadstone branch before but its not as good as in here.. the staffs were so friendly and attentive. Lizzie Eats Melbourne
šŸ˜±Lizzieā€™s first impression: came into this place knowng that I have previously tried some of the best burgers in town such as Dandenong Pavillion, Grand Trailer and 8Bit. However, this place did not disappoint at all. The burgers were DELICIOUS!

šŸ©Lizzie enjoyed: I had the King burger which had the mac n cheese croquette inside. The patty itself was very fresh and well cooked. The burger was very tasty and balanced well with the croquette. The service is quick and the place fits alot of people. I will definitely come back to try the other burgers!

šŸ…Lizzie did not enjoy: itā€™s a bit dim inside and towards the back of the place itā€™s almost impossible to take a nice photo. They should pump some music as well to make it more lively.

šŸ„‡Lizzie rates overall: really enjoyed their burgers here and one of my fave burger stores in Melbourne.

The only answer is a bloody good foodie night at Royal Stacks 3rd Birthday Party on Collins Street! This event ticked all the boxes from entertainment to the atmosphere and hit the nail on the head with the amazing food we got to taste!. If like us, you havenā€™t been to Royal Stacks before, think gooey cheese covered fries and an array of burgers to choose from.

I've been here many times and decided it's about time I leave a review. This place has easily some of the best burgers around and that's saying a lot since there's so many in Melbourne these days. Great layout, comfortable, very clean and the staff are always and I really mean ALWAYS friendly and professional. They have a decent variety of burgers on the menu and they also have exciting specials that change often.

In addition, this business pays penalty rates to their staff and pay above award wages. Good job.
Hunger Quest
This place has a nice, cozy vibe. Itā€™s usually packed around lunch times so just be aware of the potential long queues. I came just before it was busy and the wait for the burgers wasnā€™t too long, I ordered the King and it was a nice and definitely filling burger, good, juicy and itā€™s what u picture when ur craving a good heavy burger.
Delishme
American style burgers, balanced and delicious. staff are lovely. Donā€™t forget to order a side of cheese fries. Their cheese sauce is so so good!
Kyah English
Killer venue with good vibes, sweet juicy patty with that yellow American cheddar cheese that shouldnā€™t taste as good as it does. They do cheesy fries the way they should be done, cheesy throughout... every chip coated with that melted goodness and not just on the top so your left with an average feed once you get past the first layer. Recommend highly!

I really wish I was hungry enough for a burger but I'm happy enough with fries and a cookies and cream thickshake. The fries were crispy and salty which is how I like it. The thickshake was thiccc and sweet, definitely try dipping the fries in it!
Linda
Average. Slightly too oily, slightly undersized and lacking in anything spectacular. I was expecting more and got what I would usually expect. Nonetheless, a welcomed add to Collins st and a good lunch option for office workers that trumps a boring sandwich. Heaps of seating was available which makes it a good catch up point too.
Anisha
Oh my God, what a fantastic experience! They literally have just one vegetarian burger on the menu but itā€™s AMAZING! The burger is called the Queen Bee, which is chickpea patty, lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheddar and special sauce in a beautiful bun. Yum! They also have a lot of desserts options. I had the cheesecake on a stick and it was mouth watering! It was double dipped in chocolate, then coated with crunchy hazelnut, then covered in a drizzle of Nutella! Yaaaas!
Lemar
soooo good ! i always leave with my stomach in pain because i couldnā€™t stop eating šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. the burgers are amazing and i always find myself craving one. the shakes arenā€™t my favourite, iā€™ve tried a couple and havenā€™t loved them but then again thatā€™s not why i come here to eat. the only thing that i donā€™t like about the place is the ambience. itā€™s too dark for my liking and if seated in the back, the music is way too loud. however, the great food and service from staff will always bring me back!
EatPicLove
One of the best burgers you can get in Melbourne. Went for their special fried chicken Friday burgers and was blown away with the flavour. Food coma is essentially a guarantee
Syed Zohair Ahmad
really good quality burgers and just really cheery staff. The burgers are halal too so thats a plus. Will definitely come back
The milkshakes are lovely and are ice cream blended too.
Ahh_Blueberry
Today was my second visit to Royal Stacks, and this time I decided to try the Queen Bee (veggie burger with a chickpea patty) and large potato gems. Queen Bee was amazing, and it made me regret not trying out veggie burgers sooner- the chickpea patty was just as good, if not better than the beef patty that Iā€™ve tried before. If I had to say though, the pickles and the special burger sauce really made the burger delicious for me- even thinking about it now makes me want to eat another burger! Unfortunately, the potato gems were not as exciting as I thought them to be. It was too salty, and the salt continued to accumulate as I made my way through the potato gems.Ā

It was relatively empty when my friend and I arrived, but the restaurant filled up quickly and by the time we were leaving, there was a long line queuing up the front. The service was friendly and we didnā€™t have to wait too long to enjoy our burgers, so we were quite satisfied in that aspect.Ā

Overall, Iā€™d come back again and again for the burgers that I crave, however, Iā€™m more hesitant to try the sides (namely potato gems). Iā€™m keen on trying The King next!
StepiiGM
Good burger place, chicken patty was juicy and of decent size. Unfortunately the pickles and cheese can overwhelming! Chips were average, the shoestring style. Can be a bit soggy when paired with the cheese sauce. Will come back here anyway šŸ˜
Yum Yum Yaaaaaa
Holy smokes this place is off the hook. Nothing like this in Auckland (in my opinion). Absolutely blew my diet apart, but gave less then a sh!t. Mark my words if I lived anywhere within a 10km radius of this place, I would be dieing of a heart attack within a year. Take that as you will āœŒ

Looove the burgers in this shop! Lots of options of burgers, chips and desserts!! On top of that, you can get free refills soda as well if you order large drink!
Place is so spacious and service is amazing šŸ‘šŸ»

Will I be back? Definitely!

I am vegetarian and it is hard to find a good vegeterian burger.. Love the Queen Bee burger, and go to this place whenever my taste buds demand it.. Best chickpea patty burger I have ever had. Do try the cheese fries as well..
Eat And Be Merry Crew
The burger I tried was a simple but tasty cheeseburger; all beef patty, American cheddar with a special sauce on brioche bun. Apparently the brioche buns are baked daily in house, using a different baking process so that the gluten is easier to digest.
Their natural wines were very refreshing, and while wine and burgers might not be a natural fit. From the wines on offer, the white blend, Quealy Pobblebonk, was definitely my pick. It was an easy drinking wine, with floral and lemon notes, and as with some natural wines had a slight bite and natural fizz to it.
Hello. Imnikki
Royal Stacks recently celebrated their 3rd birthday and also the launch of a new natural wine range, and I was fortunate to be able to attend as Timinmelbourne's plus one. It was a night filled with delicious, and never-ending, food and wine!

My absolute favourite of the night would have to be the Single Stack. Soft bun, juicy and meaty patty, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, gooey cheese and what a flavourful sauce! The vegan burger was unexpectedly tasty too, but of course, incomparable to a burger with real meat!

Skinny fries, and potato gems, with or without cheese, rounded up my meal. I loved the cheese overload, but it sure filled me up real quick.

Awesome party vibe, and friendly staffs who looked after us and kept us all well fed the whole night! Thank you!
Chronicles Of Nardia
Royal Stacks is located on Collins Street in the CBD. The fit out is spacious catering for all the hungry burger lovers. I was thrilled to be invited to celebrate their 3rd Birthday & the launch of a natural wine range.

The night was filled with burgers, fries, cheesy potato gems & frozen custard. The cheesy gems were delicious & there was no chance you could stop at one. I really loved the single stack, tasty & just the right size for me. We also tried the Oreo & Nutella frozen custard which was divine & a perfect way to end a night of feasting.

The staff were fabulous, they seemed to be enjoying the party atmosphere as much as we were which was lovely to see & they ensured that no one left hungry.

A fantastic night & a great chance to catch up with some familiar faces as well as meet some new ones. Looking forward to coming back & trying more of the burgers. Thanks so much for having us.

OMGosh sorry folks. It appears that Iā€™ve written a review for a place with a similar name. Oops hahaha all fixed now thank you Hello. Imnikki :)

I was invited to attend the 3rd year anniversary party of Royal Stacks in Collins St and it was a promotional night for a new range of wines that they will be serving.

The wine was called Pig Face and we had tried the Chardonnay which was light and easy drinking. What a great start to the night.

It was a fun night w lots of people and I went w Bearabbit and we enjoyed some delicious fare on offer.

The hot chips were good but the plain potato gems were the winner for me.. bad but soo good hahahaha

I tried a vegan burger which was really tasty but some additional sauce would have been good (my preference).

Then I had a cheeseburger which was really good. Overall it was a fun night with lots of lovely new and old company.

VeganeatsM Vegetarian Food Lover Aman Saraf
Chronicles Of Nardia :)
Good Food Good Mood
We were invited to Royal Stackā€™s 3rd birthday party which was a ripping event. We consumed many rounds of potatoes gems and fries (both with and without cheese, the cheese was a bit overpowering for me so would recommend just salty plain) before the burgers came out.

I kind of overdid it because quite frankly their burgers are perfection. The buns are beyond delicious, the sauces heavenly, the ultimate cheese melt and sensationally cooked patties. I started with the kavorka which is their crispy fried chicken burger. Itā€™s a chipotle mayo with just the right amount of kick, would definitely try this one again.

Next up was the Miss Elizabeth now Iā€™m not actually a truffle fan but this truffle mayo completely won me over. Another exceptional burger. They were also debuting their new vegan burger so I applaud their inclusivity there but I went for the single stack instead which is effectively their classic cheeseburger.

I managed to get through half of it before I was defeated. This is no bearing in its deliciousness but it was my third burger after all. Sadly I then entered a food coma and missed out on the snickers ice cream and birthday cake but it was definitely worth it. These are just about the best burgers going round
Mustard
Took me awhile to give Royal Stacks a shot but I finally got there. I honestly wanted to try everything but I know that'd be the death of me. Cheese overload seems to be a thing here but I really didn't want to feel bogged down after that.

I get a Prince Harry, as simple as it gets (almost). This was perfect albeit small. The patty was juicy and pink and the shallot & gherkin mayo sauce was creamy and pickley. Everything just melded together, delicious.

I got a mac & cheese croquette on the side, usually designed to upsize that burger of yours. It was heavy and dense rather than gooey on the inside. Maybe it'd be better with a burger but I didn't want to over-complicate something that was already perfect.

For sides I got potato gems. I mean they are just potato gems you can get frozen at a supermarket and cook them up yourself. The onion rings however had a nice crispness to them and maintained its integrity.

As a finisher I got one of their concrete specials, Twix pieces, nutella, salted caramel, custard and chocolate custard. It was huge and I had most of it (probably a mistake). It was smooth however I found that it melted quite fast. Flavour-wise it was predictable, they don't have much else on offer that's particularly inventive or exciting.

Good burgers, a few things to steer away from but if over the top is your thing, than go for it.

Hearing about Royal Stacks is one of the best burger restaurants in Melb. Very excited to try their burger. Customer service and staffs were extremely friendly at time and very attentive. However, to me the burger was average, abit better than other stores. On the other hand, da chips top with melting cheese was amazing, crunchy and salty enough, cheessyyyy. Good for a try
Some Bunee Loves Food
Average burger - got the single stack for lunch from Uber eats. I actually really wanted to order the Stix cheesecake so got the oreo nutella and golden gaytime, but unfortunately they were a bit too sweet for my liking.

Average burger, nice atmosphere with well decorated interior. staff were friendly and service was quick. Prices are slightly higher then some other burger joints close by. Overall a solid 3/5 stars.

Yum! Incredibly friendly service with lovely staff, reasonable prices and delicious food.

I got the double stack and shared a few sides with my friends. The burger was delicious... the fillings were fresh, the burger bun was soft and their burger sauce was yummy! My friends who had two other burgers agreed too! At first I thought the burgers were on the smaller side, but they fill you up very easily!

The sides were great too. Fries were crunchy as, onion rings were yum, however their cheesy gems were spot on. Crunchy gooey potatoey cheesy goodness. To die for!

Wouldnā€™t hesitate to come back at all! Thanks royal stacks!

Sesame Eats
Royal Stacks offers a slightly above average burger experience with decent burgers but lacklustre sides.

The burgers are good value for money as they are large and juicy, but the generous amount of sauce and cheese used werenā€™t anything amazing. The downside of the burger is that the buns are quite spongey and soaks up all the juices; half way through our meal the burger became a soggy mess. Nevertheless the burgers are still quite tasty.

The major negative are the fries and potato gems. Theyā€™re soft and deep fried lightly which made them taste relatively plain. We even ordered melted cheese on top but that was also quite flavourless.

Apart from the food, the service and atmosphere was pretty good. Overall, if youā€™re into big, dripping burgers, and is not fussed with subpar sides, Royal Stacks is worth trying out.
Leila
Incredibly nice staff! Explained the menu really well too, since it was my first time. I decided on a Miss Elizabeth, extra patty. Not a bad burger at all, the beef was succulent. Sliiiightly heavy on the truffle mayo, but thatā€™s just my preference.

Royal Stacks is hubbyā€™s favourite. He go-to burger is the Saint, with double beef patty, raw onion (date night alert!) and bacon. He also love the chilli cheese fries.

I really like the burgers too, and while I am not a burger expert, I love it how they are not as greasy and salty as other burgers.

We came here on a recommendation and now I need to buy them a beer!
The menu isn't overly large or complicated. You get a quick easy sense as to what is on offer. The staff are bubbly and create a great rapport quickly. The atmosphere is relaxed and vibrant.
Now for the food, wow! The flavours burst alive in your mouth. Every bite is a party and geez you don't want it to stop! They aren't large burgers, but they don't leave you empty. Perfect sizing. Perfect taste. Perfect setting. One of, if not, the best burgers we've ever had!
This is a must try on every bodies list. If it is not on then you need to do yourself a favour and add it. You won't regret it!!
(Ps. They have beers! What goes perfectly with a burger? Beer!!)
AB.NaturalSoul
Even though I am not Vegetarian, I ordered the Queen Bee Burger and I loved how juicy the chickpea patty was! Usually I am not a fan with chickpea patties because they dry up so quickly but this one lived up to it's name of being Queen Bee worthy! The rest of the burger itself tasted delicious and fresh! They definitely make sure to give you a significant amount for what you pay for which is definitely a big plus for me!

The staff is friendly and happy to provide suggestions.

Seating is adequate, both in terms of space and layout.

Being a burger joint, the interiors are practical with a digital burger being projected onto a whole wall. What I really like was the use of green plants to brighten up the space.

Freshly made Beef patties with a mix of crunchy veggies and some tangy sauces, sums up the offering at royal stacks.

The only disappointing part of the meal were the Fries/Chips. Seemed like a frozen mass produced pack of chips fried just before serving. I deduct a whole star only for this. An improvement in the quality of chips would take this place very close to a perfect rating !!

Overall, a decent 4/5!

There are many burger place in Melbourne, its really hard to see which one is better. You go in and order from the counter and get a buzzer and wait to pick up. Order the single stack and cheese fried and as mentioned it taste like any other burger place. The venue is pretty dark but it's spacious. Overall nothing memeoriable.

Great service and even greater food...best burger so far in Melbourne. I had the Creed, a single patty with bacon and loaded with veggies including pickles and beetroot. The combination was quite unusual but pleasing to the palate. Cheesy gem as sides completed the meal. Think hash brown balls drowned in cheese sauce...sinfully good.

Rating: 4.5
Finally we arrived after walking 10 minutes by foot but wow was it worth it. The vibe here was excellent with the chill music and open setting. Great place to relax after a tough day at work.

We ordered the Miss Elizabeth with mac and cheese, which had truffle mayo. That was a banging flavour. I had The King which has become my favourite burger at all times. The special sauce was so tasty and addicting, and the beef patty was juicy. Also, I finished it without feeling guilty of what I ate and was full for $15 burger.

We also shared the chilli cheese beef fries which was better than most places I have been to. The mac and cheese, however, in our burgers made us already full so eating this was hard to finish! We would have wished for the bun to be crispy, but I love this place so much and would come back for this rewarding dinner experience.

Going to Royal Stacks guarantees a good burger. While their cheeseburgers are great, their Bae of Fire is amazing. I was worried that two patties would be too much for me but it was so delicious I finished the whole burger anyway. The patties were juicy, the bacon was crunchy, the cheese was melted and every flavour combined together well.
Unfortunately, the chilli cheese potato gems were not of the same standard. They were not spicy at all and had an unexpected weird meat sauce on top. The potato gems were also stuck together so it was hard to eat.

Had the Queen bee burger with cheese fries, the burger wont be dry or tasteless although its a vegan choice. The deep fried mashed chickpea patty went well with the thousand island sauce, the cheese was a good complement of the enhancing the flavor of the whole burger. The cheese fries was enticing with overflowing cheese, literally so much melting cheddar cheese, cant ask for more!

It was late night but my hubby and I are hungry so we went out to look for food to grab. As a tourist we want to try the best and famous foods in the city we are in. We saw this inviting burger place and we were happy we did try! Simple yet bursting with flavours.

American style burgers, made with quality ingredients. My fave is the truffle burger, but really all of them are great. Their frozen custard is nice and smooth too. A must visit for burger addicts. (Rating : 3.5)

Wow, talk about over-hyped. The pattie was good (not overcooked) - shame it was nearly cold. And they left off one of the ingredients.Ā Serving size on the small side for a $12.50 burger too. Overall I get a far better and bigger burger at my local fish & chip shop - for 2/3 the price.Frozen custard sounds interesting, but it's just icecream that melts quickly (i.e. before you can eat your cold burger).

First off, I love the setting. It's a big and spacious place with a few different types of seating options. I thought the neon lights and the plants on the wall (didn't get close enough to find out whether they were real or fake) were more trendy than tacky. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The menu was diverse with good options. We were torn between the Prince Harry and the Creed and we ended up ordering two Creeds. The guy at the cashier thus recommended that we order the two so that we could try them both and I love the fact that they actually cut them in half for us without us asking. If I'm honest, there wasn't anything special about them but they were good standard burgers that were done well in nearly every single way. I felt that the buns were a tad greasy. They also seemed a bit small in size but saying that, I didn't go hungry later that evening. I'd be keen to go back and try the other burgers.

The service was great, but had to wait a while for my food though but it's understandable in busy hours but the wait was worth the taste if their burgers, chips are average seems like maccas chips but the burgers are a win šŸ‘ŒšŸ”„

There was a lunch crowd when I got there and I immediately knew this was it. Amazing friendly staff greeting you at the doorstep, but most importantly the burger and the fries was da bomb

The middle of the beef patty was still raw... for its price, the food was decent but you can just go to mcdonalds for the same taste. Ambience was nice though.

Real rating 4.5 āļø

When I first visited royal stacks, I was wondering what the hype for it was about and then I understood why!

I kid you not, their burgers were so damn amazing! The portions are reasonable and the patties (fried chicken and beef) are cooked to perfection making them a combo to beckon with! I would say the burgers are better at Royal stacks! šŸ˜‚ see the pictures for yourself if you donā€™t believe me!

Definitely the best burger joint I've been to around Melbourne, having been to about 6 burger joints before Royal Stacks, I think this joint is the best out of all of them.

Great atmosphere and environment - very chill place to hang out with any family or friends, also very welcoming vibes.

Staff are engaging to talk to and are very enthusiastic. Very welcoming and friendly, highly attentive to any mishaps or messes that occur throughout the restaurant.

I ordered The King Burger, Cheese fries and a mint milkshake, all of which were balanced in their own way and worked well with each other.

Definitely come here if you love cheesy things šŸ¤¤ the burger was yum but it could do with some more sauce it was a little bit dry but the cheese made it worth it! Pretty packed place and we didnā€™t have to wait too long for our order which was good

Royal stacks is a solid as burger joint. The burgs are ace and the potato gems and shakes are also legit. Frozen custard making that thickshake a real dream. I usually get 2 burgers when I come. It is a good feed. When this place opened it was busy as. Still pumping along. If you are a burger fiend this is a place to visit. The truffle mayo is legit. These are small tasty burgers that should hit the spot. Think you are a big boy? Well put another pattie on that sucker. Or order another and get serious.

Very mediocre food. Burgers were flavourless. I think the hype was paid for.šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I was told by a few other foodies that the experience may lack the quality and taste of other burger places like Hello Sam in Melbourne or Charboys Burgers in Brisbane, but I didnā€™t expect it to be this mediocre šŸ˜ž

Love this place.

Great deco. Awesome place for lunch- great burgers, soft buns, nice food and drink choices. Canā€™t go wrong for a casual burger.

Music can be loud if you are looking for a place to chit chat.

There is a big hype when it comes to this place , not good quality food was cold when served , overpriced
On average Iā€™d say itā€™s 50-60 for two people

Not a great variety of options
A dark and uninviting atmosphere
Not going back

Meaty, juicy meat patty, with super fresh salad, soft buns and crunchy onion rings. The burgers here satisfy the hangriest cravings. Consistently good and made with care.

Amazing. This is my second time coming here!! We had the double stacks! However this was way better than last time. Last time I ordered gems with cheese! Not a fan! The cheese was quick to dry up and taste plastic more like. This time it was crispy and nice!
Karen Torres
the burgers here are phenomenal! the brioche bun, juicy patty, melted cheese all blend and comprise the mouthwatering treat. i have tried both in store and take away burgers, it's delicious whether you eat it fresh from the store or at the comforts of your home.

Very nice hamberg shop and very friendly staff, yes, I mean jack (maybe)who is the manager. the hamburger is very juicy and sauce is tasty. BAE of fire is really good. the place is good for small group party and food is very nice. we will come back again.

Quick service. Burger was tasty, but a little on the small side and the bun is quite thin. Would definitely need to double patty if youā€™re hungry.
Would come back, deffs satisfied the burger craving.

Royal Stacks offers some good vibes, expansive and diner style interior, in addition to salty burg goodness. The saint burger, potato gems (regular), and frozen custards are highly recommended. Great for singles, couples, families, and large groups alike. Ordering is nice and easy - all counter service but you receive a buzzer when your food is ready to go. See you soon Royal Stacks!

Avoid! Avoid! Came here very recently with my partner. We ordered 2 standard burgers with a side of large shoestring French fries. Fries were greasy and gross, tasting more like oil than potato. Burgers were small and fillings were measly for the price (1 pathetic piece of lettuce). Tomatoes were pale and flavourless, beef patties were thin with worrying flecks of pink inside. The burger buns were pasty and bland, like something you could buy at a supermarket bakery. I requested raw onion in my burger and got 3 raw onion rings, was charged a ridiculous $1 for it. What a bloody rip off!!

Donā€™t bother with this place, itā€™s a waste of money and you wonā€™t leave satisfied either in burger size or quality. There are so many other better burger places in Melbourne. Youā€™d have a better burger experience eating a Hungry Jackā€™s Whopper than at this sorry Royal Stacks joint.

Brother in law came down first day to Melbourne from japan and decided to take him to get some juicy burgers itā€™s all our first time here and we ordered 3 burgers and few sides and drinks total 70$ for what we paid it was quiet expensive from my view but the burgers were damn good to bad the price isnā€™t reasonable or Iā€™ll be back quiet regular
