We visited Mrs. Parma's over weekend to try out famous parma's. It was our first attempt to try Parma's and we absolutely loved it. Being an vegetarian, they had separate menu for vegetarians with whole lot of options to try and we ordered 4 types of Parma's n all were delicious. service was really good and we even tried local brewed beer was really good. Would definitely visit again very soon

I love this place ✨✨. They have the best Parmas in Melbourne. I have been to many places for Parmas and this is the place where everytime you order Parma, the taste is consistent. Also, the Chicken Parma’Geddon is the best in their menu and worth the price ❤️. You won’t be disappointed. Great place to come with friends and family.

Well their best dish is evidently mentioned in their name. Amazing vibe inside the restaurant, the staff are friendly and cheerful. They made sure everything was alright during our meal. I ordered the Vindaloo Parma and I gotta tell you I recommend it a 100%. Great sauce and a good portion of chips and salad. One recommendation is to refill our water more often.

Firstly: Great Food! I really enjoyed the vegetarian puttanesca parma, served with a fresh salad and yummy chips. Plus the apple cider on tap was top notch. We came here between the 2 parts of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, as a group of 7 and without a booking. They did a great job of finding a table and had very attentive staff. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. They catered to our many and varied dietary restrictions (including gluten free children, dairy free/gluten free adult and vegetarians) with a huge range of choices for all. They obviously really care about patrons and catering to their needs with coloured coded menus for different diets, even asking about dietary restrictions straight away. Thoroughly appreciated as this is hard to come by. 5 stars and would definitely recommend (dietary restrictions or otherwise)!! Please come and try Mrs Parma's!!!

Really friendly service. Great atmosphere. The food is always spot on, full of flavour and mouth watering. One of the best parmas I have had. Really decent prices for parmas. Beer is on the expensive side. I do recommend booking first.

I liked it a lot, they have a very cozy atmosphere. I tried a very appetising Scamorza Parma, it was so yummy. Good size, well cooked and very good taste. It's the best place to eat Parmigiana and not only that, there are also starters, salads and desserts. You can enjoy with your family and friends. Also, it has a wide variety of beverages such as soft drinks, white and red wines, cider, bottled beers and beers on tap.

I haven’t been back to this place for years now and I’m so glad I dined here again. We had the Parma floaters and the warm pumpkin salad. So delicious and hearty especially the pumpkin made with freshly chopped spinach. Will return more often now.

I had the original chicken Parma and I thought it was great. The chicken was juicy and it had just right amount of toppings. Very good tomato sauce and grilled until perfectly golden. The fries were very well seasoned and super crispy. The salad was a tiny bit oily but still crunchy so no big deal. Great taste and great value, so much food! The staff were lovely and recommended a great IPA too so I would definitely recommend a visit.

Went there with family, and unfortunately the overall experience did not leave the best taste in our mouths... -The Chicken Parmas were excellent but the Veal Parmas were tough and hard. You couldn't cut it and we had sent it back and were only offered a free drink in return. They still however charged full price for both unfinished meals. -The Restaurant was not overly busy, however our order took at least 60mins to arrive, a little poor in our opinion. -Four of us had ordered full portion size parmas, and they gave us a small bowl of chips and a small bowl of salad. This was pretty dismal as we had to share this between four people. Upon ordering a second bowl of chips, this took at least 20mins to come and came at the end of our meals after our plates had been taken up. -I would recommend my parma that I had (Chicken Matriciana), unfortunately though not all in our party of 11 people thought their meal was worth the money we paid for it. -If you want a chicken parma, then I guess give this place a go. If you want a Veal one, I would suggest to give it a miss.

Honestly, if this place wasn't in the cbd it'd be unknown. The drinks on tap are good, i had the Mexican parma which was nice, but without the guacamole and sour cream it would have been quite boring. For $26.50 you'd think you'd get some chips and a salad on your plate but between 12 of us we had 2 bowls of chips and 3 salads ( not really big bowls either) I reckon the menu needs more parmas, i was hoping to try a parma which has oysters Kilpatrick blended into the cheese and sauce. I just reckon that a place known for it's parmas ut should have much more parmas on the menu.

Dropped for a quick meal before going to see The Book Of Mormons. Told the staff on arrival that we had to be out within the hour to catch the show Food arrived within half an hour of ordering....but the par as we're only Luke-warm. Such a pity as I have been here before and had a great meal, and we even gave our staff Xmas breakup planned for this place in December. The food was tasty but just too cold. We did consider sending the food back but were pressed for time.

To be honest this is my first bad dining experience in Melbourne after multiple visits to this beautiful City. Mrs Parma restaurant left a lot to be desired as far as service staff is concerned . The main issue we encountered was uninformed and unspecified additional charges slapped on our total bill , with no explanations offered until we queried . Apparently customers pay additional $5 as surcharge for every sharing portion ordered . We were suppose to pay additional $10 on top of our total bill The handling of this situation left us surprised and exasperated at the total lack of professionalism of the manager. The waitress had insisted she informed us about the surcharge, which was blatantly untrue as as non of our 4 diners heard her claims. If theres a cctv camera with audio perhaps they can do the checks The manager in charge managed to insult us further by first blindsiding the claims of her staff, in the process implying all 4 of her customers are liars , and to top it all, low-balled a $5 refund to us, which left us totally appalled at the lack of simple reasoning, not to mention managerial skill sets $10 isn’t the issue . We walked out of the restaurant not taking a single cent back. I hope this review serves its purpose . The failure to inform your customers any surcharges by print or verbal communication, and the lack of professionalism in handling customers feedback from the manager is the crux of the matter . At the end of the day bad practices of staff will cause the company a lot more.

I used to love mrs P but since you have now taken the bbq off the menu I’ll find another place

Overrated! I would recommend going to your local pub for a better parma at a cheaper price. Sorry Mrs. Parmas.. I don't get the whole hype!

One of the best veal schnitzels around. The selection of toppings for the parmas is second to none

Best parmas, but the staff and atmosphere made this place such a good start to our night. Will be back very soon

We visited Mrs Parma for a pre theatre meal of parma because it was Valentine’s Day and most of the regular pre fixe venues were insisting on Valentine’s Day set menus. We had no booking but turned up early enough that we were seated on perhaps the worst table in the whole venue overlooking the alley dumpsters. Apparently all the other tables for booked for Valentine’s dinners but for this one, although half of these remained empty for the duration of our meal. Food wise I was able to order my veal parma which was well worth the extra $2.50. Sizeable and we’ll seasoned crumbs and quality meats made for an exceptional parma. My wife had the bruschetta chicken parma and hers was even bigger than mine. She is known for over making some big calls but claims this to be her favourite chicken parma in Melbs.

Drinks wise no cocktails but plenty of Australian beers on tab and a selection of wines and spirits too.

Overall worst view for dinner but some of the better parmas out there.

I've lived in Melbourne all my life and have never been to Mrs. Parma's. Lookinh quite vintage from the facade I was pleasantly surprised by the parma offering they had (vegetarian friendly). Servings are quite big and if you want to have a half serve you need to pay extra and the other half needs to be shared with someone else on your table (odd!- as I can cut it in half myself).
We ordered the chilli parma, not as spicy but still delish and the Mexican parma filled with jalapenos and guaco. All parmas served with chips and salad. Service was average however compensated by food.

Where do i begin? Biggest disappointment of an establishment I've ever encountered. My hot girlfriend and i planned to have a nice evening full of delicious food and refreshing beverages. However following a 80 minute wait for my Supergeddon parma with added BBQ sauce, They not only bring out the wrong parma they ignored our request of individual chips each. Instead a shared Bowl on the table.. After i inquired about this. The waitress aggressively responded, implying along the lines of "it's not like my girlfriend needs it." I was gobsmacked and dumbfounded, I proceeded to ask for the manager, He apologized halfheartedly but was inclined to defend his staff member saying he doesn't believe she is capable of such unfavorable language. The beers were very hit and miss, Some tasting quite delicious with hints of fruit, Others however very much like ashtray. This may have been an anomaly although, This experience was enough to turn me off the place.

Attached is an artistic portrayal of my girlfriends face after hearing such comments...

A Parma restaurant ingrained in Melbourne as one of the best, offering gluten free options among others. We have been here before separately, however decided to return to the conveniently located Mrs Parma's due to their gluten free options and of course, for a mean Parma.

I ordered the Mexican Parma, a mix of guacamole, sour cream and jalapenos whilst Emily ordered the gluten free classic with no cheese. The parmas here are of very high quality, with the chicken tasting fresh and cooked well as opposed to cheaply crumbed or served quickly. The ingredients used are fresh and really make for a fulfilling and impactful Parma.

Lots of flavours and toppings to choose from, and we were certainly happy with our choices. Really recommend if you are after a good Parma!

Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Ambience: 4/5
Value: 4/5

Overall: 4/5

Bad experience where they only gave us 2 bowls of communal chips and salad between 10 people when we all ordered Parma and Chips Do not come to this place.Never seen a parma place which doesnt give you your own chips when you pay $27.50 for a parma

I update
Went here last week and for the second time in a row the second has been terrible. It was a Saturday night and the place was empty. This place is not what it used to be.

haven’t been here in a while. I had a chicken chilli parmageddon and once again it was amazing!! You’d better like spice, as this Parma sauce is brewed over 4 days from memory and it had a good kick to it!

They do vegetarian parmas which are made from eggplant or veal parmas. This place has been consistently good for years.

And all the beers/ciders are Victorian, all craft breweries and they are delicious! This place is a must visit, and I’ll be back to snap some more pics!

Yummy!!

My girlfriend and I ate here at 8pm, by 9:30 she was spewing out of the car window and had diarrhoea.. I had a turkey Parma and my partner had chicken. Obviously there is some uncleanliness in the kitchen because my partner has food poisoning and is still throwing up as I write this.

Food was good. Big parmas for the price of $27.50. What wasn’t good was that 9 out of 11 of us couldn’t finish them as they were so big, and when we asked for take away containers they said they didn’t have any! Then the waiter proceeded to give me napkins to wrap the food up. I appreciate the effort but I’m not going to wrap up chicken in a napkin and take it home.... maybe they should have the option of smaller parmas if they don’t have a take away option, because I wasted half of my food that I would have loved to take home. I’d suggest sharing one Parma between 2 people.

One of my favourite food is a good Parma so when I am in a place that specialises in only Parmas I am literally in heaven! The parmas themselves were really huge in portion size which was great . We went for the original and Mexican! The Mexican was delicious , sort of strange like those funky flavours on pancakes at pancake parlour but Just like there I really loved it ! Would definitely go back to try some more flavours

My classic go-to for Parmas over the years - it’s absolutely delicious - tastes fresh and tender with soft and light cheese. Great selection of beers to pair! My favourite is the spicy parmageddon 🌶 Amazing!

😱Lizzie’s first impression: It definitely reminds me of a run down pub but no signs of it on the outside. Interior is quite old but the food smells delicious.

🍩Lizzie enjoyed: there's so many choices of parmas i can order it is almost overwhelming. I love that the portion size is quite large and it's best to share.

🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: it's not bad and the portion size is massive - however, nothing a pub can't do. I'm not a meaty person so I like a bit of variety.

🥇Lizzie rates overall: a great place for those who want to try different flavours of Parmas but again, nothing too special about it unfortunately.

Came here for a birthday dinner the other night.

I ordered the Eggplant parma with the Suppergeddon topping. The dish came with mozzarella and I asked for extra guacamole ana jalapenos. The eggplant was cooked very well and the cheese was hot and tasty. The dish was quite filling although I would have liked for a bit more guacamole.

Overall, a very enjoyable experience at Mrs Parmas!

This place is raining parmas hence the name but they do a good job. I think it's a good spot for a casual meal with friends. There was simply nothing that stood out to me.
THE PARMA COUPLE
considering the restaurant name and the prices, we were expecting something insane, but unfortunately the expectations were not met. it was a lot more busy than we had thought (not a big deal), and had to wait a while for our meals. however we found the parma's to be quite delicious! and considering the price we had to pay for them, we were very happy they were decent sized. a lot of variety to choose from. but were they the best?? no. oh, and the chips were very bland too.
The Gluten-Free Foodie
Me and my coeliac partner were recommended here for good gf parmas and enjoyed them but both felt bloated and uncomfortable later in the night. The taste of the Parma’s were great at the time (prosciutto and chorizo were our picks) and enjoyed the portion sizing. Would be ok for gluten avoiding but not intolerance.
Range of coeliac friendly beers was fantastic!
Excellent place, must go to if you feel like a Parma or just happen to be at the top end of town. I’m a devout carnivore, but decided to try the eggplant Parma. I was not disappointed, it was superb. As an Italian know exactly what they are supposed to taste like and these guys hot the mark. Great atmosphere in there and some good beers on tap to try.

Went there yesterday with a group of 12 people. Table was not ready by the time we arrived.
For $25-$30 a parma, we were expecting bigger and better parmas. Hoenstly, it's probably the first time I finished a parma and felt I could have had more food. (One of the guests wanted to ask for a second since he was still hungry one and didn't because of pricing.)
We were only given 3 bowls of chips for the whole table and when I asked for more we were told that we could get more for the whole table complimentary because we were only given half sizes... ?!?!?! We only got 2 more bowls that were gone straight away.
When asking for the bill, the guy who saw I had cash said: How much do you have? I want to know how close you are.
I said: I believe I have more. (we had cash).
He said: There's no such thing as more, just a good tip.

And then he proceeded to actually only give me $10 back instead of the $11 he should have given us of change.

Extremely disappointed in the whole experience. Would not recommend.

I was so excited to try this place with all the reviews so we (2 of us in total) went here really early on a Saturday afternoon/ evening like 4.30pm, there was only three other tables taken at the time, when we walked in it took 3 minutes of standing around to be greeted, and was asked if we were here just for a drink, we responded no we wanted to eat as well and was asked to wait a minute , 40 sec later we got told we could sit and eat but as they had lots of diner bookings we would need to sit at a particular table.

We complied and waited 8 minutes for someone to come take our order. We got 2 standard chicken parmas, nothing special i make a better one at home to be honest, no seasoning at all, you dont even get your own chips,or salad on your plate it comes out to share in small bowls.

What if i didn't want to share with who i was eating with i ordered my meal and didn't expect to have to share sides, it didn't state this on the menu. how tight!!

Again time to pay and had to wait again and no one was in front of me, had to wait at the bar to ask for the bill, looked like total of 2 staff working at the time.

No international beers in a bottle all craft beers. Wouldn't go back.

This is to a review to my best chicken Parmigiano thus far! This is usually a crowded place, but we got some good seats even without a reservation.
I got myself a supergedon, and my friends with the Mexican and the other with mushroom. My supergedon was real spicy, and this was that moment that kept you wanting for more! Succulent chicken, good coating of cheese and good flavors!
The Mexican was quite bland to be honest and the mushroom was quite alright, just not upto the standard set by the supergedon. However , a good hearty meal for a slightly expensive price!

Best Parma in Melbourne? This is recommended by food channel 33. They have lots of different options to choose from. Let me start from The Original then go down the list. Lol

I've tried to get into this place before and very difficult on a Friday or Saturday night without a booking. Started with a drink, my usual campari and soda and then straight to the parmas. The one that caught my eye was the 'Let it Brie' as i love brie and cranberry sauce. It looked nice when it came out, the portion was massive and it took up all the plate, i chose the veal and what i didn't like was the amount of cheese, way too much and covered the entire schnitzel, half the amount of cheese would have been perfect. I did enjoy the herbs and layer of sauce underneath the cheese. Also the salad and chips were communal and for $30 i would expect my own serve of salad and chips, so felt this was done to convenience the establishment and not the customer, and when the chips are that good and crispy i want my own serve! Also the size of the salad for 5 people was too small. When it came to pay we were forced to line up at the bar and pay, again very inconvenient for the customer. The wait staff here are very friendly and service and food is good but can improve on other factors.

Oh my god .. totally fell in love with this place. From the ambience of the place to the staff’s hospitality and the mouth watering food, everything is simply amazing😊
Tried the Crumbed calamari rings as starters along with Tandoor Parma and both of them were yummy.
Would love to try more items from this place.
Well, you’d certainly hope that a place called Mrs Parma’s would have some good parmas, and they definitely do. I generally think of parmigianas as very stock standard food, something I never really order myself but always sneak a bit from my friends whenever they order it.

I am a big fan of how tasty and huge the parmas are here, and how many different flavours and options they had. I really enjoyed my meatball and jalapeño one, and the chorizo one was also very good. The Brie and cranberry one was interesting, still very tasty. The pricing is a tad expensive, at $27-30 per Parma, but the portions are worth it. Will be back for sure.

I had my doubts about the eggplant parma but if fried chicken gets too much for you... eggplant is a ilfe changing option!

Ordered:
Eggplant parma with mexican topping: tomato salsa, sour cream, guacamole and jalapenos ($24.50)
Chicken parma with mushroom topping: oven roasted field mushrooms with oregano ($27.50)
*all parmas are topped with mozzarella & served with chips and salad

Review:
Would highly recommend you bring a mate for you to go halfsies with... especially those who have similar taste to you. I was too scared to fully commit to eggplant parma and I'm slowly moving off fried chicken but I just had to try the classic parma combo.

Mrs Parmas, although the lighting is shoddy and is left field of romantic (the red lighting is a little creepy imo), they do their parmas and sides well. Chips although in a small bowl, was more than enough and the salad was the perfect refreshing taste from the heavy parmas.

Although the chicken was a little try it was edible. I do wish the mushrooms were better distributed though.

The eggplant parma truly gave me life. It's lighter than chicken, which really brings out the flavour of the toppings! Eggplant didn't really taste like much but gave it enough texture that the toppings weren't overwhelming.

Chips, as other reviewers have commented, is absolutely delicious but also terribly salty. This is not somewhere you want to bring your health conscious friends but, vegetarians come through because the eggplant parma is uneal.

Hidden in the busy streets of Little Bourke is a pub that mainly sells parmigiana (what a surprise)! Here’s a quick summary of how my first experience went!

The Mexican topping had caught my eye! Topped with tomato salsa, sour cream, guacamole and jalapeños, I was pretty excited about how the flavors would work with the parma. When it came out, I was pleasantly surprised to be presented with a massive piece of meat with melted cheese and the expect Mexican toppings on it! I had given it a real good mix and the flavors were pretty good as expected - savory and mild sourness!

I have tried the mushroom and original toppings which were just as good but my heart was swayed more towards the Mexican! As a side note, the chips and salad were pretty tasty as well - I suspect they batter the chips twice!

Overall, it was a great experience and I have gone back there several times for my favorite!

Wow wow this place possibly have the most variety of parmas you can think of! They are huge huge parmas and very juicy and succulent. Can't beat it if you want a good parma.

Returned here after many years absence and it definitely still stands as my favourite parma in Melbourne. Although it wasn't as big or filling as I recall, the napoli sauce is excellent, and works great in combination with the ham and cheese to make the original veal parma my go-to option here. The chips were a little overcooked tonight, but the salad and garlic bread was nice. There's a good variety of beers on tap and the guys behind the bar are brilliant. A really nice pub-like atmosphere. They're quite busy so if you haven't booked, you will probably end up at the bar but there's not much of a wait. Definitely recommend if you're in the mood for parmas.

I’ve been here a few times and ordered various Chicken Parma dishes. I have never been disappointed with any of them; they’re juicy and the servings are generous. There is some room for improvement but it’s much better than what you’d get at most restaurants. Now regarding the fries: they are some of the best fries I’ve had. They’re crunchy and the chicken salt used is amazing. The only complaint I have - and it’s a big one - is that they serve the same amount of fries to share whether it’s between 2 people or 5 people. With 5 people, we all each get a tiny handful of fries. I find that absolutely ridiculous especially when we’re paying the same (slightly expensive) price for the meal. We shouldn’t have to pay for extra fries when more people attend.

Apart from the food, the atmosphere has a warm pub feel to it and the service is quite friendly. I would recommend coming here for the Parmas and Fries but beware of sharing fries with too many people.

As a work group, we went to this place, everyone was excited about eating these huge parmas after work, and I for one didn't eat much during the day. First we had to wait for a table to finish, we ordered, the waitress was rude, took ages to bring water, our food comes, and we are given ONE bowl of chips and ONE bowl of salad between 6 people, we complained, and got a second smaller bowl... which was a big deal to the waitress, she said they give one bowl between 3 usually? And complained when we asked for a 2nd, for $27 a head for a parma, you'd expect better service, and value for money, but no. Then, the manager had an attitude with us splitting the bills! Such a hassle for a $400 bill plus drinks, seriously? Mrs Parmas wont be seeing these 15 people again.. Its cheaper and friendlier to go to a pub... glad we arent the only ones here disappointed with this place.
Vinod Hapangama
The name of the place hyped me up. Ordered a porky bits parmi. It was horrible. The crust was soggy and the meat lacked flavor. Wont be returning.
Gee
2.5
It was a Parma and it cost $40 with a beer to wash it down. For that much, I’d be hoping for parma nirvana - alas not. Went for the prosciutto, basil and goats cheese. The chicken parma itself just wasn’t special. I really liked the chips though - just not enough of them. For a place that specialises in the one dish, it wasn’t worth coming back for.

Went here last night with another couple, had an average waiter, wasn't very happy to be working but after we ordered the food and drinks, it was on! Amazing craft beers on tap, and the parma was amazing, never had anything like it before, worth a trip to Melbourne for! Beautiful!

Yes! Just what you want. Got the super geddon Parma which as promised was hot! If you love spicy food you'll enjoy this. Takes up the whole plate and you get a serving of salad and chips in a separate bowl. Loved that it was all local and craft beers.

Timinmelbourne Lauren Davies

I recently went to Mrs Parmas with a bunch of friends who haven't been there before and left not having had a good meal at all. From the second we walked in at 7pm we were reminded that we needed to leave by 8:30 because there was another booking for the table. Makes me think that the bookings weren't managed well, when we had clearly made ours 5 days in advance (Not a great start).

We were rushed to order and the waitress made it a point to remind us every 5-10mins that we needed to leave soon. The second a meal was eaten, the plate was cleared and when it got to 8:25pm, the half eaten sides were taken without asking and the bill was put down on the table. It was suggested we could move to a bar table to finish our drinks and my remaining meal. The second we sat down at the next table we had to fend for ourselves, the waitress walked over for us to pay our bill.

It is definitely not a dinner experience to have to scoff your meal and drinks, to be reminded every 5mins that you have to leave in a countdown and then to have half eaten food cleared as an added timer. Sad to say but, I would think twice to go back or recommend it to another friend. The food was dampened by all of this. Not happy.
Went there with a group of friends, amazing place. Pub like environment, nice crowd. Good place to hang out, drink and have dinner. Parma's were amazing. I am vegetarian and have sufficient choice of veg ....which is generally not available for Parma.... Would go there again and again

paying $5 more for local beer that you can get anywhere and over $25 average parma? if you want a good parma and craft beer and pay way less go somewhere else like water rat hotel

The size of these Parmas were massive so my friend and I decided to go halves on the prosciutto + asparagus parma and it definitely filled us up. The flavour was spot on. We sat on the long seat mounted against the wall at the back where the tables were a bit too high making it difficult for us to eat. However, service was superb !

Let's just settle this now: Mrs Parmas does do the best parmas in Melbourne. Now I've been quite skeptic in the past, also wondering "how can your average pub parma get even better?", well now i know why. The quality of components is just super high here: the bowl of chips have that excellent crunch, even the salad is nice and crispy (no excuse to skip greens here!). The Parma here is just absolutely gorgeous, large in size and flavour. Just the perfect enough of spice in the meatballs, every single bite was blissful. Although the portions are quite large, trust me youll figure an unscientific method to get everything into your belly. 😉😉

Great selection of parmas hidden in Melbourne’s CBD. They have everything from the original Parma to a Mac and cheese Parma!

You have a choice between chicken, veal and even eggplant. Food was great but service was slow (30+ mins to get out food) and 20mins later we were told our table was booked and needed to leave even though the restaurant was empty. Wouldn’t recommend it if you have a 1hr lunch break with the slow service.

Fell in love with the chips but the chicken parmas themselves were average. They were semi-crispy and semi-moist. They have done a great job with the toppings though. Lovely ambience and service, a shame I wasn’t in love with their main menu item: parmas.

If you love parmas, you will love it here!! Lots of choices, big servings, tasty food. Had the Mac and cheese and bbq parmas and was in Parma heaven by the end of the meal.

Visited Mrs Parks’s recently after hearing great reviews. Food was great and we enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely be returning sometime soon! Great staff & vibe.

Had the ‘Bolognese’ chicken parma which consist of traditional Bolognese sauce, melted mozzarella and some shredded herbs on top. An order of parma also came with a side of chips and salad.

The portion size of the chicken parma was huge and the amount of cheese on top already looked very impressive. The bread coating to chicken ratio was just right; bread coating was not too thick and chicken was not cut too thin. It took me by surprise how the breading has maintained a nice crunch to it even though it was covered in Bolognese sauce. The chicken was succulent and meaty, flavoured by the savoury Bolognese sauce with a hint of tangy and sweetness from the tomato; and the stretchy melted mozzarella cheese added a nice chewy texture which contrasted well with the juicy and tender chicken. As for the sides, the chips were thick and lightly seasoned with salt but barely had any crunchiness to them; the salad bowl had lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion and vinaigrette dressing, basic but was nice to have along with all the chicken that was consumed.

Overall it was a tasty and satisfying meal; they have a lot of interesting toppings to choose from but I went with something simple and it didn’t disappoint. Everything about the chicken parma was on point; the chicken, the bread coating, the sauce and the cheese. The chips and salad were just average but not too much of a concern as they are really good at what they do; the parmas.

Average price, average pub food. Seriously, friends talk about this place being some kind of great restaurant.
It's literally just a pub with a gimmick.
If you like parmigiana, you can get better ones from any restaurant on Lygon St.
But if you want to go to a pub, stand around talking and drinking it's pretty good. Just get food elsewhere.
This place is a-awesome. It's got a pub-like feel and boasts that it has been melbourne's first microbrewery. It has it's own ciders, beers (even a gluten-free beer called o'brien's), ginger ale and other drinks.

Like it's name, it has a range of parma toppings which come with your choice of meat or veggie (veal, chicken or eggplant) and a side of chips and salad to share.

My dinner mate had the o'brien's beer which basically glides down your throat. I had their home-brewed rasberry mead which is fresh rasberries, honey, water and alcohol. Slightly sweet, very light and 4.5% alcohol - au naturel!

As I like spicy food, I was recommended to get the Parmageddon. Both my dinner mate and I got it. It has four different kinds of chilli sauce and is delicious. My dinner mate got the chicken version and I got the eggplant. Mine was succulent pieces of eggplant (four large pieces) with layers of cheese, a good dose of chilli (not enough for me to require water or cry for help - maybe a level 2 out of level 5) and lots of herby flavours. The chips were ok. The salad was refreshing with lots of green leaves and cucumber.
The eggplant parma is around $24 bucks from memory.

Very quick service. Lovely staff. Great vibe.

Nextt time I'm going to get the kamikaze! :)

Looking for a light meal before the show (around the corner at Princess Theatre), what better than a good ol' classic chicken parma. Between two.

The staff member warmly welcomed us that night, sat us at a stool table with no reservation, presented us with menus and a friendly explanation of what Mrs Parmas is all about. All well. We decided on an original chicken parma to share and a couple of drinks from the bar. Wood panelled walls and craft beer maps adorning the wall gave a very westerns bar feel to the restaurant.

Food service wasn't too long a wait, enough time for a conversation over a drink. Parma was delicious, schnitzel lightly crispy beneath a tasty ham, cheese and sauce blanket with hints of herb. Accompanying salad was well dressed, chips crunchy but not oily. Even shared, the serving was very decent between two for a light meal.

If you're feeling peckish for parma and beer, not a bad place to consider.

Hands down the best place to get a Parmigiana in Melbourne.

Sizing is amazing, but doesn’t lower quality at all.
I will for sure be coming back!
Brian Lang
The food may be okay but the staff and especially the manager are extremely RUDE. Worse yet, the owner encourages it. As such, go anywhere else as places like this don't deserve to be in business.

Got the bolognese parma
$26 for a chicken base with any sauce
Was a little smaller than expected but still a great size
The chicken was perfectly cooked and the bolognese parma had a great flavour
It same with a side of chips and salad at the chips were perfect. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with the right amount of seasoning

Would definately come back
A small and busy pub serving truly massive parmas in a variety of ways. As parma enthusiasts, we were a little disappointed at the quality of the parma itself - other than the size there was nothing very memorable about it. That being said, no complaints about the food or service so can see why many love it here.

I came here because I heard of the delicious eggplant Parma. Some of my friends prefer the eggplant Parma over the regular one. It still surprises me because the eggplant tastes as good as the regular or if not then better. It's so different to what I've had before. There are so many different toppings you can choose from.
The Dear Luncher
The Dear Luncher is a veteran visitor to Mrs Parmas, having first walked through those hallowed doors back when they first opened probably around ten years ago. It has for a long time been a favourite group booking destination. In many respects Mrs Parmas was way ahead of its time with the craft beer focus. Their dedication to that cause is to be admired. A pot of the Wind in the Willows IPA was the opening beverage and it delivered.

This was the first visit back after perhaps a four year hiatus. Nothing has changed, it is still the same. Reliable, authentic. The Dim Sim Parma was ordered because where else in the world are you going to get a Dim Sim Parma? Although what was served up was a tad defalting, it was still delicious. The Dear Luncher was expecting dim sim portions embedded in the parma. Instead it was just a handful of dimmies sitting on top of an original parma. It’s good to know that they’re still consistently producing top quality parmas, you’ll struggle to find better. Particularly when so many places serve them up these day with the chicken sitting on top of the chips. GTFO, please.

KUTGW Mrs Parmas.

Craft Beer + Gourmet Parma = ♡♡♡

If that doesn't say enough, this pub/restaurant has amazing service in a comfortable and spacious atmosphere. Chicken, Veal or Eggplant Parmas, with a variety of different sauces and toppings, in addition to other pub grub (that I've never tried because the Parmas are way too good to pass), and surprisingly good selection of craft beers on tap.

Great food ,Great beer . Original chicken parmas is the best choice . the beer is awesome ! We enjoy the meals!!! It's a good place to having beers
Split The Bill
Mrs Parmas is definitely the place to go for a good parma. I have been here on many occasions and have always enjoyed my meal. Service has always been friendly and efficient. The parmas are huge but I love the fact that you can ask to split your parma in half and share. The parma, chips and salad are all split and prepared in advance and brought out to you on separate plates. Great to have that option for those that cannot fit in the beast!

There are a variety of different parma options with a rotating menu. Some of my favourites include the Mexican, the pepperoni, and the pumpkin and feta. You have a choice of chicken, veal or eggplant. For those hardcore chilli fans, they have the Parma’geddon. This may be perhaps Melbourne’s hottest parma. Too hot for me but a few of my friends absolutely love it. They have other items on the menu but why would you even go there 😊 Drinks are purchased at the bar. Worth a visit! Make sure you book!
Caitlin
It is what you go here for- an amazing Parma and a great drink. The eggplant Parma is amazinggg, I've been here three times and had various different toppings and they're all great. Make sure you book!

Mrs Parma's is the best thing out of all things. I don't care where you are or what you're doing tonight- if you aren't eating at this establishment, than you're doing it wrong. With even a vegetarian option for their schnitzel- which I actually want to order one day because it looks so good- Mrs Parma's parmas have an impossible selection of toppings and extras to have your Parma prepared with.

I'm sorry, doing this review is really hard because now I really want another Parma and I'm not even mad my phone auto-capitalises Parma. I can't wait to go back again and eat too much.

Parma was amazing- big, cooked well, good chicken, cheese was perfect, nicely seasoned, you just couldn't fault it. Service was good. Salad was okay, could have been better, but was dressed well. Chips were great, however wish there was more to yourself as you only got a bowl to share between two.. considering the price you pay it would have been nice. Will be back :)
Parmapocalypse
Came here with my partner for lunch. The place itself is very well built and designed. Hard to miss information on Chicken Parmagana as there are little facts written all over the place to provide some entertainment while at your table, rather than just going onto your phone to pass time by.

We both got the original plain chicken parmaganas and we both thoroughly enjoyed them. Beautiful chips (to share between two) and a great piece of chicken topped with delicious legit sauce. It's definitely the best Parma I've had in a while and that's jncluding pub standard parmas too. Very friendly service and staff. Prices are just over average but you get what you pay for.

Happy eater and would come back again to dabble in the different flavours!
Two Sheds
I like it. Nothing fancy. Just a basic space but eminently functional. Just parmas, chips and salad on offer. The thing is, all of them are good. Every parma in our group including mine - the pepperoni - looked great and tasted mighty good. The chips were crisp and golden. The salad was basic...
Simon Browne
Went in with 3 friends. Made a reservation, and was told that the only tables left had stools rather than seats, which wasn't an issue and we were glad to have had the heads up. Our table was ready and waiting when we got in. Staff were quick, friendly and switched on which was great. Our food was also fantastic, we all had a different parma variant and there were no complaints. A great dining experience!

Place is much hyped but certainly lacked it. My mates and I went last night and were disappointed to find out that the chips and salad were to be shared. The Parmas were sub standard considering we have to pay 26 bucks for a parma, we all had different ones but definitely wasn't worth the effort of making the journey into the city.
ToFeedTwo
Every now and then you just crave a good Parma. ToFeedTwo waltzed on down to the famous Mrs. Parma's and weren't disappointed - it's a buzzing place that always fills up & has a nice atmosphere. This place is always a winner. Be sure to book!

We had the Roasted Pumpkin & The Pepperoni parmas - both sufficiently great. The pepperoni was high quality & spicy... so good! It's always great to be served a classic meal with a twist. Accompanying chips (great flavour) & salad were to share and nicely sized for our huge parmas.
Dean Pahek
Not bad, not good, just don't understand the hype. Over priced for sure and interior is pretty boring and basic. Service was fine and good selection of beer. Wouldn't go back to city venue but might give Greville street venue a shot.
Eating With Ebony
My best friends had organised a birthday surprise dinner to mrs parmas! As I am a big Parma fan! It was amazing. The service was fast, friendly and the food was amazing! We got some dips and Turkish bread which was yum! Then I got the original Parma, I gotta say it was probably one of the best parmas I've had plus there were very generous with the sizing. My friend got the Eggplant Parma with roasted pumpkin. I wasn't too sure how that would taste but I tried some and it wasn't too bad 😊

I went to Mrs Parmas for the first time a few weeks ago. The table service was prompt and the food came out quickly. Parmas were huge and the salad and chips were enough for our table. The prices are a bit steep -$26.50 for a Parma and small amount of chips and salad - but I'm willing to forgive that as my Bolognese Parma was delicious and, as I said, huge!
Downside, is the bar service for the drinks. The guys behind the bar seemed to be working in slow motion and honestly, seemed strangely confused. There was one group of people in front of me and it took the bartender a good 5 minutes to get them a lemonade, a beer and a mixed drink - the last one seemed baffling to him. If you're going to force people to get up from their table to get a drink, you really should light a fire under your bar staff.
Anterey Custodio
One serving is good for two. $26.50 each. Chips is good and salad is okay. Next to poor for customer service. Quiet ambience. Not easy to locate.
Justasis
A pub that supports Victorian microbrewery but surrounded by American flags which was a bit odd..

But other than that, both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Had the 3 cheese and mushroom chicken Parma. The thickness of the chicken to sauce and cheese ratio was perfect. Sauce was nice and chicken wasn't dry. Love the chips, really nice and crunchy.

I couldn't finish the meal as it was pretty decent sized, left with a food baby. Will be back for a quick no fuss pub Parma meal next time when the craving kicks in.
Jimmy Chew Food
I feel a bit silly for not expecting Mrs Parmas to be a pub, but it all makes sense to me now =p. Nice pub it was too, not that I'm any sort of pub veteran.. or a parma veteran for that matter. But damn, I really liked this parma. My mattriciana was delicious. Saucy, cheesy, generous amount of bacon, olives and I suppose a got a small chili kick from it. The sizes are smaller than what they used to be apparently, but they're still pretty big. Sadly they aren't licensed for takeaway or something or rather. This is disappointing since smaller eaters will end up being forced to waste a sizable, delicious and pretty expensive parma--like my partner did. What's more I was there for pre-show dining and the food took forever to come out. I ended up running out of time and couldn't take away what I didn't get to finish. Wait staff were nice but were inattentive a lot of the time and forgetful. We ordered tomato sauce for our chips (which were very nice and crispy), and the waiter went straight into the kitchen next to our table, came out a few mins later empty-handed and walked straight by. We had to ask him again for the sauce. Those things aside, I think Mrs Parma's dishes up a great, if expensive take on the traditional parma, as well as some not so traditional flavours. Would definitely still come back.

Where have u been all my life? Best parma I've ever had. Even better n tender than the Cotta, which is located in Crown. Eggplant parma is an Excellent option for vegetarians.

Mrs Parma in the CBD is the go to place when you're craving a Parma😚! They have so much variety, on this occasion we got the Mexican and the Mushroom Parmas. If I had to be honest for me it's very hard to find a bad Parma, so in saying that this place wasn't bad but didn't blow my socks off😞. Maybe parmas just aren't my thing😣. Definitely a place to check out if you after a solid Parma! 🙌
Sotasty
Hooray for the place that serves Parma's not stacked on top of chips. Unfortunately that's all the praise I can give. I'm not sure what they do with the chicken but it has a weird texture and didn't seem fresh. Rather sloppy actually. The salad was just plain boring and had way too much dressing on it. Chips tasted like frozen ones you can buy from the supermarket. Considering Parma's are their thing, I thought it would be much better.
Food4Lyf
Try and come here whenever I go into the city.

The Parma's are sensational. The chips are dreamy. It's like all of your Parmigiana dreams come true. They have a really good selection of local and Australian beers and cider here too!

Can get pretty busy quick, so you need to book early otherwise you may sit in the overcrowded bar area.

Luckily they opened another store in Windsor which is less busy, as it's fairly new.
Luc
Great place for a parma nice selection and very tasty tried the parmageddon with four types of chilles it was awesome, they have a great selection of beers and the service was quick and friendly I definitely recommend.
Alevia Peterson
This place though! The portions are unreal (feel like I'm back in America) and every dish we've tried along with our guests were delicious. Everyone leaves happy and full. Also like the pub atmosphere that comes with it, nothing pretentious about this spot!!

Had of course a Parma here last Saturday pre theatre. Tried the bolognaise with veal Parma very tasty my dining companion the traditional chicken Parma. They do an excellent Parma here. The side chips and salad are simple but nicely done. Excellent choice of beers and ciders. Nice service. A very pleasant place for a meal.
Farzana
The parmas here are great - chicken, veal or eggplant with your choice of a variety of 'toppings'. However we were a bit disappointed when we were only given two bowls of chips and two bowls of salad to share between 10 of us. A bit misleading when the menu says that the parmas are all served with chips and salad....The service leaves a little to be desired, but that said it is a busy pub essentially so perhaps that is to be expected. They were very accommodating for our large group. Overall, a little overpriced for what you get, but a fun place to visit nonetheless.
Moz.Food_coma
Really really disappointed ..

To start off with the place lacked atmosphere ! I've been here about 5 times over a couple of
Years and decided to go again with a few friends before the football, we hadn't been in over 12 months .

Beers were over priced and they added a extra 10% for public holiday ( haha ) the music was like a Rastafarian stoners bar just played bob Marley for the who time . The parma's were like they had been microwaved and the salad was sloppy and old . I won't be returning here ever again the place is just a gimmick now ! No one enjoyed there food .
Fiona
We love everything about this place. Awesome staff, always so friendly and accomodating. This is the only place to go for a Parma! The Mac and Cheese Parma and Capricciosa is the ultimate!!! But Bolognaise and Pepperoni is a good season swap :P Could not recommend enough!
Good Food Good Mood
You've got to love a restaurant with 15 parmas on the menu! The bruschetta is my favourite but they are all available in chicken, eggplant or the deliciously unethical meat, veal. There's also a decent selection of other things on offer if parmas aren't your thing, although I'm not sure why you would bother with this establishment if that was the case. I love the concept of dedicating an entire venue to Melbourne's most loved dish and the serving size is very generous. It's not the classiest place but it's definitely got thecool novelty factor. Can't go wrong (unless you forget to make a booking as this joint is super busy)
Pattyeats
Another "must visit Parma joint" in Melbourne CBD
Along with its trendy atmosphere and laid back bar comes the delicious LARGE size parmas! With so many toppings to chose from there is definitely something for everyone!
Parmas so big that chips and salad have to be served on seperate plates!
Rating a 4 star for friendly service and food! Although is probably one of the more pricier Parma places!
Bernardo Jacobi
Very good parmas. Tried the caprese Parma on veal and also tried the original chicken Parma. Both did not disappoint in terms of flavour and presentation. Portions are very generous and service is good and friendly. Parma fans would be very happy here but if you can't take heavy food for dinner I'd recommend this place for lunch as I found these parmas quite heavy (I ended up with a stomachache). Bar selection is reasonable and varied. General atmosphere is ok but the place is not going to impress you (in my humble opinion). I can come back ...but I don't think I will crave or dream of this place.
Kate
Honestly, I am never going to be impressed by a Chicken Parmigiana. I just don't like them. I was pleasantly surprised with Mrs. Parma's as they do veal as well! The place was full to the brim when we attended, lucky we had a booking. Food was not bad, drinks were slow to come by and the wait staff were swamped. If you like Parma's, then definitely go, but also keep in mind the crowds.
Mochi Yama
great decor, friendly service, huge range of drinks. me and my partner enjoyed our huge parma and tasty garlic bread. will definitely come back.

Good portion size. Got the original chicken parma and special macaroni and cheese chicken parma. Both were delicious, chips and salad to share were nice too. Service was prompt and adequate.

This joint was recommended by a very good friend who is good on the fang if he says best parmas in the CBD I'll have a go. Went there after a appointment nearby got there just before 12 dead quiet and nearly fainted when I saw the beer list OMG!!! Talk about spoilt for choice #drunklife so after 5 minutes of deliberation I grabbed me pint $13 of 2 brothers lazy boy IPA bit rich for a truck driver from keysy but had to be done. Ordered an original with chips and salad got half way through me pint looked up and the joint was full of office lunchgoers. Got my meal and fark me the best Parma I've had for a long time!!!! And the size was well worth the $26 . Next time it's gonna be the cappricossa stay tuned!! The cappricossa is EPIC!!!!!!! Believe mate believe!! CHECK THE PHOTO OUT!!!
Tamara
Delicious Parma's with a massive serve. Great gluten free option as well. I do recommend booking even on a Monday night as we were forced to sit at the bar to be able to get a seat as their tables were all booked. Love the support of local breweries and enjoyed a wonderful ginger beer with meal. Service was friendly too.
Jase XL
Snitzels... how good can it really get...?

Creativity and decent servings is what got me over the line. The range of parmas costing on average of $26 with chips and salad to share is pretty good for a lunch gathering on the weekday.

Pro: good work lunch place

Con: a bit of a novelty
John Puckett
Lame menu - seriously, most standard pub's offer better parma alterations! Told we couldn't order at the bar and no split bills. Then told we can't order drinks at the table. Menu says all Parma's come with chips and salad - they bring really small share bowls to the table instead of what's stated on the menu. The felafel salad came without felafel - offered free drink as compensation.
They brought the wrong meals to our tables, walked away, then came back after a couple of minutes and said 'sorry, wrong table' and took those exact meals to another table.
Useless mob and below average parmas.
Nethra N
Eggplant parma is my absolute favorite dish so for my birthday my husband did a lot of research to find a good place that serves eggplant parma (we just moved to Melbourne from Dallas so it was a tough find) and I was delighted to hear we got a table.

Ambience was very good, beers excellent the salad and chips were great too but alas my eggplant parma was a disaster. It was very dry and chewy i almost tossed it to next table trying to cut through it. I regret not sending it back but I did not want an argument on my birthday. My husband however loved his chicken parma and he said it was tender and juicy. I wanted to be happy for him but it was my freaking birthday and i was having a very below average meal.

They can improve on this front a lot or remove eggplant parma from their menu altogether of they are not good at it. There was a board inside which said parma was originally made with eggplants and to screw that up is something.

I wouldn't recommend this place for any vegetarians like me. Even though i loved their salad and beers I wouldn't be going there again anytime soon. 3.0 is for the beer alone.
