Omg!!!! The best brunch I’ve had in Melbourne!!!!!! And I went to soooo many!!!! Asian fusion brunch place oh sooo good!!!! 😍
My wife and I were visiting Melbourne in the past few days and we decided to come here for breakfast yesterday. The place was very lively and the colour deco did help everyone to start the day with a joyful mind. The staff and service were great, food was delicious. The crabmeat and egg is my recommendation and I am sure you will love it. Must come back again on my next visit to Melbourne.
The vibes were great with the murals, yet the space was zen with lots of natural light flowing in☀️. The food, oh don't get me started. In not so many words, the food 🐮🍔🦀🍳was on point and it was certainly service with a smile. So oh Ray, don't be so humble ! 😃👍🏻
I loved EVERYTHING about Humble Rays! The food was delicious. The esthetic was on point. The owners were welcoming, kind, and accommodating! I would highly recommend Humble Rays!
Best food ever. Its like heaven on a plate. My goals in life is to get everything on the menu!
Truthfully I'm not one for the whole brunch experience nor do I ever do many Facebook reviews, but I came to your place twice in a week! The chicken hot sauce was awesome! Great place, I'll be back!!!
The best brunch experience ever! Crab Meat Scramble, Chicken Hot Sauce! We will be back to try something else next weekend ;)
Amazing experience at this lovely cafe from start to finish! Quick service on both coffee and food, despite it being jam packed on a Sunday afternoon. My husband had the grilled salmon while I had the pancake stack with bananas and bacon and both were sensational! Will definitely be back for other dishes.
The meals are well served and well prepared. Good food and most important is they are humble and serve the customers like a 5 Star Hotel.
First time to your restaurant today and surely be coming for more! I thoroughly enjoyed your salmon dish and that hojicha drink is simply sensational. Thanks,
Leroy

Freakin delish - we enjoyed it so much we went back the next day! Our kids also loved the food so it's a big win for our family. Puffle Waffle mite just be my fave all time dessert hehe!
The owner is so cute I dieded
Will def come back for more of him.. I mean food!
The food is great!
Great coffee and delicious brunch! Try the Belly Dancing! Filling!
super beautiful cafe just out of the city, the lines are kinda insane though (pre covid i mean hahahah)
we tried their french toast which was a little sickly sweet but sooo pretty, famous spicy crab croissant which was vv rich but lived up to the hype and the pork belly which was oh so fatty and just melted in your mouth! overall quite pricey as brunch normally is, probably would only come for special occasions 💗💗💗
One of my favourite brunch cafes to go to. There are always lines during lunchtime so make sure to have a booking or avoid the rush.
I personally love the chili scrambled eggs and the desserts- thai milk tea bing soo which is sooooo delicious and a favourite. The chilli scrambled eggs is on a croissant which is cute but the portions are on the just right side- which is, you probably need a dessert to feel a little bit more full.
Overall a great environment and vibe, I always love going here to eat!
Nice atmosphere & friendly staff
Neat And warm brunch spot! Service was quick and friendly. Food was enjoyable and delicious. Only down
Side was leaving the restaurant stinking of grease due to lack of proper ventilation.
The popular brunch spot that is known to have ques at the front on weekends.
They serve an amazing asian infused menu and their popular dishes are the egg waffle and scramble egg croissant. We really enjoyed their matcha and hojicha latte here as well
Loved how their brunch options are different and they are unique. Would love to be back for their dessert range
4.5
One of my favourite cafes in Melbourne, Humble Rays, has a dedicated takeaway and delivery menu that is filled with inventive and delicious dishes. We tried the Duck Congee, Salmon Super Salad and Coco Waffle, and it was a feast!
The duck congee was a comforting and hearty dish, with a consistency that was much denser than an authentic congee. The mushrooms added an earthy umami flavour, and the confit pulled duck leg was super tender. A bit more seasoning and it would have been perfect.
The Salmon Super Salad was bursting with clean and fresh flavours, and the salmon was perfectly cooked. The crunch from the assorted veggies gave this dish an excellent mouthfeel, and this was without a doubt, clean eating at its finest.
Another dish that was executed with flair was the Coco Waffle. The HK egg waffle was light and airy, with a crisped exterior, and when combined with the nutty and earthy black sesame ice cream, deeply savoury salted egg yolk anglaise and slightly sweet candied chestnuts, this was a dream to eat.
The coffees never fail us here, and I also love the matcha latte and taro latte. Humble Rays always deliver the goods and I can’t wait to go back for more.
🐑 cumin lamb
🏚: Humble Rays
🛵: FREE delivery within a 1KM radius
————————————————————
📝: Supporting one of my favorite local cafes. They’re also doing free delivery for deliveries within a kilometer. And good news, there’s no need to queue in line for anymore when you’re craving for Humble Rays.
❤️: If you’re a chili fiend, you cannot miss the Cumin Lamb. Minced Xin Jiang cumin lamb, fried egg, green beans fried shallots, chili oil, asian herbs, onion, on steamed quinoa and jasmine rice.
The service was really friendly and quick response. But wait for the table and the food took quite a while. Over it was a good experience just not sure I would be keen to wait 30 mins for a table and another 30 mins for food again.
Hojicha Latte $5 🍵
Never fails to impress me with their amazing Hojicha. Fast service for take away coffee as they made it on the spotl considering there was a long queue for the brunch.
Nice place, good decor and friendly service. However, dont find the food extremely satisfying. Its presented well though.
Absolute perfection! Every dish we tried out felt like it had been meticulously thought through and balanced so that all the flavours matched, every aspect of every plate was cooked to just the right amount. The meals were a little pricey but no more than any other brunch cafe.
When we arrived there was a fairly big line outside and you can understand why when you eat their food - absolutely AMAZING stuff and I cannot recommend it enough!
Maxing. Worth my time to wait in the line
There is always a line out the front, and I can see why. The service at Humble Rays is second to none. The team are so attentive, my son looked up day dreaming at one stage and the lovely team member came straight to the table to apologise for the wait of the food ( it had literally been 10 minutes).
We had the Korean Chicken burger and the chilli crab, both well presented and very tasty.
I had a raspberry drink that was to die, not too sweet. The place was packed on a Monday at 12pm, so be prepared to wait, but I think it is definitely worth it.
A must visit if you are in the area.
Visited Humble Rays on a Saturday morning, the line was super long however the wait time was not too bad as we got a table outside. Service was prompt and friendly. We ordered Monkey Business (Hong Kong waffles) and Chilli Crab Scramble, both dishes were the perfect combination of flavours. Chilli Crab Scramble could've had a little more crab meat, however this is pretty standard in all brunch places and the crab flavour was still there. Would definitely reccomend Humble Rays and revisit as they have a few interesting items on their menu!

Everything was good but we had to wait outside for 20mins under the sun. croissant was of good taste and the eggs were delicious. Drinks were good and beautiful!
Came here for breakfast this morning. Such a cute place. We got eggs and bacon with a side of greens which was delicious and the French toast recommended by the staff. Both were delicious. The coffee and chair latte was also really good. It’s so hard to get a good chair latte. Definitely worth its high rating!
Great spot for brunch. Better get there early or be prepared to queue a little. Cute interior. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Good price considering the size of the portions. I'd definitely come back.
Amazing food, taste and presentation, so many options to go crazy for. Service also attentive and very pleasant, I will definitely go back and suggest to friends.
cute latte art. My friend was surprised with the large portion of fatty meat in her egg benny. It was delicious though. Loved my crab meat! The sauce was absolutely devine. Gotta try the juices, A plus!

Had to queue for about 15 minutes even-though it was only for myself. Had the Wagyu Beef Burger and it was great. The beef patty wasn’t the best but it was still good. However, the sauce made the burger was tasted impeccable. Ordered the Chai Latte as well and it was good enough. A good place for brunch indeed.
I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, and safe to say that almost anything you order will always be decent. My all time favourite is belly dancing — the combination of ingredients sounded funny to me initially but when I tried it for the first time it was surprisingly delicious. I tried the roasted pumpkin ytd and it was amazing! Enjoyed every bite of it and it’s really nutritious too.
Humble Rays truly is one of those gems tucked away amongst the high rise buildings leading up along Bouverie Street.
The newly renovated cafe enhances the great ambience they’ve built for more than 3 years.
The menu still excites, tantalises your taste buds and is truly eye candy (especially the French toast), a long time favourite for many.
The fresh Summer spin on the Salmon super salad, the panna cotta with fresh seasonal fruits, and the crab meat scramble takes you on a great journey over brunch with St Ali Coffee.
Consistency, quality, great food and service is why it’s highly recommended to experience why Humble Rays continue to lead the cafe culture and scene in Melbourne.
Humble rays did not disappoint! Finally got to try it after hearing about it for months. The place itself is lovely and has a great vibe to it. The crab scramble was delicious with a fair share of crab, and the eggs benny was also a great pick.
The servings were generous and priced well for brunch food.
Staff were helpful and polite, definitely would love to come back and try their other items !
Ordered: roasted pumpkin with broccolini/beans/ vinaigrette ($19.50) and salmon super salad ($20.50). I loved the pumpkin dish, it was simple but the veggies were all cooked perfectly. The broccolini was grilled giving the dish a nuttiness and the roasted pumpkin worked perfectly with its sweet starchiness. The salmon dish also looked bomb. This is a really nice and bright cafe with lots of seating available so good for large groups. Also free coffee refills... need I say more?
-Nahm was an excellent host
-Food was AMAZING (11/10)
- But I wish there were more vegan options
Meet the humble was amazing because it’s a complete set of menu, you got everything in one plate, the pulled beef was so delicious 😍😍😍
I came here with a friend midday one day and the line was out the door, took a good 30-50 minutes to get seated. The food was okay, I got the eggs benny however it is unlike ur regular eggs Benedict as they used pork belly and a potato croquette. Definitely a bit expensive however that’s what you get for brunch places. Didn’t get to try the thai milk tea bingsu but I’ll be coming back for that!
It's my first time here and I had a great time. I came here on a sunny day so its pretty hot, but thankfully the restaurant is cool and chilly. the staff and waiters are so kind and friendly. me and my friend ordered the signature crab croissant and the pork belly. Both dishes are very delicious but I prefer the croissant than the pork belly. the croissant is crunchy and the crab omelette is very soft and tasty, it is fulfilling and plus the presentation is so beautiful. the pork belly is worth to try because the pork is very juicy and flavourful. we also ordered tiramisu bingsu. it is a coffee flavour shaved ice, coffee ice cream at the bottom and tiramisu ice cream on top, perfect for a sunny day.
Quite easily one of my Favourite brunch places! Food is consistently delicious and love the tropical sodas.
Finally, a place in Melbourne where the food is worth the wait! Service is excellent and their scrambled eggs are superb.
Humble Rays has become one of my favourite brunch/lunch spots - arrive before 11am if you can to avoid longer queues.
My favourite dish is the chicken hot sauce burger, though their duck congee is a strong contender.
Humble Rays is one of Melbourne's most popular brunch destinations and it definitely lives up to all expectations.
Lucky my friend and I visited early, around 9.30am on a Saturday and there was no line which was great. It got busy quickly, but despite that, the food was always delivered quickly and staff remained focussed on excellent service. The ambience is very light, bright and modern.
I ordered the Pannacotta Granola which I'd rate a 5/5 - delicious. The panacotta itself had that perfect creamy texture with the wobble. I also really liked the chai flavour - I've never tried that in a pannacotta before so that was quite unique to me. The granola was great, very crunchy and a good portion size served with lots of fruit.
The menu is so unique - basically every dish appealed to me! The Crab Meat Scramble seems to be the most popular dish here so I'll definitely be back for that.
Keep up the great work!
One of Melbourne’s most famous cafes - Humble Rays is so popular you can always expect to wait at least 30 minutes in queue just to get inside. But it’s well worth the wait!
Despite how busy it was, the staff are incredibly patient and friendly, and exceptional service is maintained.
The menu here is a fusion of Thai flavours with Melbourne brunch, and there’s seriously nothing you can go wrong with on the menu.
Crab Meat Scramble - Humble Ray’s most iconic dish! This is definitely a must order when you’re here, and my absolute favourite. The scrambled eggs are cooked so well, creamy yet fluffy, with Asian flavours and herbs. I loved the combination of sriracha mayo and I think it worked really well with the eggs and the croissant. So delicious!
Duck Congee - This dish is perfect for winter (although the weather is getting warmer now). The congee was very light, and the duck was tender and flavourful. I loved the crispy seasoned shiitake mushrooms which added a surprising crunch to the dish.
Coco Waffle - My favourite dessert! This dish combines all my favourite flavours into one! The egg waffle is so crispy yet so light and fluffy on the inside. The combination of coconut and sesame work so well together, and this dish is so heavenly!
Thai Tea Bingsu - You really can’t go wrong with bingsu, and Humble Rays does it well. It’s light and refreshing, and a strong Thai tea flavour. The toppings are actually in the middle, underneath the shaved ice!
This cafe is definitely worth visiting! I definitely need to come back soon to try the rest of the menu!
Totally worth the fame and price. A must go in Melbourne.
🥞 Had my pancake crave satisfied at Humble Rays!
There is always a queue outside the cafe. We have waited for approx. 40 mins on a Sunday morning. Luckily the service was quite quick and we were happy with the food and drinks.
Ordered Belly Dancing (homemade pancake with maple syrup and Nutella) (AUD 18.5) and Crab Meat Scrambled 🦀 (AUD 21). The homemade pancake looked really nice. Great portion. Bacon was crispy and the egg’s nicely fried. I had the sauces served on the side, so that I could taste the eggy flavour of the pancakes.
Humble Rays also did a good job on the crab meat scrambled. The eggs was rich and creamy enough. It would have been even better if the croissant was more crispy :)
Lastly, you won’t wanna miss their Hojicha Latte!
Food - ordered Monkey Business and Egg white/Bacon. Both good meals especially Monkey Business.
Cons- be prepared to wait in line. Very popular place!
Would like to go back and try more of the menu :)
4.5 Humble Rays is a popular vibrant cafe located just pass the CBD grid in Carlton. Expect a queue if you’re visiting during brunch time but the line will eventually subside. The interior is bright with cheerful decor that’s inviting on a nice sunny afternoon. The menu covers the basics like eggs on toast to more creative items like belly dancing.
Best hojicha latte I’ve ever had! Food was great but not mind-blowing enough to wait for an hour for. Also, our meal didn’t really end on a pleasant note as the staff rushed to remove our plates even when we were still chewing on the last bites of our food.
Quite a nice cafe in the area but it took so long to get a table and even had to wait ages to get the food. Probably total 90 mins wait time which is not ideal. The food is quite nice and plating is really aesthetic but not really worth waiting that long for.
We got the skookie to share- this was soooooo sweet and we couldn’t taste much red velvet unfortunately. The salmon was cooked perfectly and everything was super fresh!
Great coffee! Smooth, strong and good flavour. The cafe is bright, spacious and has an inviting feel.
Long Line outside this Cafe after 2.00pm can mean either of the two: Overrated and Over hyped Or Amazing and in most cases it's the former but Humble Rays fall under the 'Amazing' bracket.
All the elements within the dishes, coffee, hot chocolate, pricing, hospitality was amazing. It would be totally unfair to dissect our experience in words that would fall short.
Vegan and Vegetarian options ain't too many but shouldn't stop you from not going.
Second time coming here, lined up for about 7 minutes. first time was a year and half ago. Had the crab omelette and remembered that this dish needed to come to Sydney. Second time coming back I tried the recommended pork belly. Also had a chance to meet the Thai chef lady who came up with the dishes. Lovely presentation, my pork belly was cooked really nice but the pork belly skin could have been crispier. Will definitely come again to try something else !!!!
Every time I visit Melbourne I always make a stop at Humble Rays for the best eggs I've ever had - Crab Meat Scrambles. It comes on a buttery flakey croissant and garnished with crunchy deep fried shallots and chilli that tantalises your taste buds. The hero of the dish is the fluffy eggs that is cooked perfectly with a soft and velvety texture. Theres generous amounts of crab meat spread through out the scramble. You can taste the sweetness and the freshness of the crab meat which is well balanced with the other elements of the dish and not overpowering the rich buttery and egginess of the scramble. The saracha mayo is perfect for those who enjoy a little spicy kick. You won't want to stop after tasting your first mouthful! Luckily the very generous portions will leave you happily satisfied.

Always been a personal favourite, and extremely popular among friends. So if you're looking for undoubtable brunch experience, this is it.
The newest favourite is their mushroom on toast
Their all-time MVP is the crabmeat scramble [ Note that it's best to book for reservations during peak brunch hours, and their menu changes every few months ]

One of the best brunch places in Melbourne! The staff are extremely nice, the vibe is so social and amazing!! This time, i got the white chocolate panna cotta with granola! So delicous!! The panna cotta was set perfectly and the granola was nice as well! Definitely recommend!
Best brunch I have ever had in my life, not kidding. So we line there for a bit long time about 40 minutes, but it actually worth! We ordered one and .
🦀 for the the croissant is crispy and crunchy, the scrambled egg in there is soft, the crab meat is real, and there are a lot I can say. The sauce on the dish taste like something “curry mustard” sauce. One of that was bit spicy, one of that sauce was ok, you can chose the flavour you like to dip with.
🍓 for the the name sounds pretty already, when the dish come up I just want to say “OMG!”. It was two layers of French toast with cream cheese in the middle, on the top there is one huge ice-cream and decorated with white fairy floss. There are several of berries and fruit on the side, looks health and tasty. Actually tasty😆
[for drink] we ordered and .
taste like the good latte which we normally drink.
is a type of Japanese tea with milk, so kinds of a “milk tea”. Taste sweet but not that sweet... I know that’s conflict but I don’t know what else to say. Oh tasty, right!
So this meal I can say is the besttttttt brunch I have in Melbourne!
😍 love it

Got lucky got us a table during peak hour. We ordered egg benny and crab meat scramble. We’re pretty impressed by the taste with really good presentation. But there is one thing, while J was chewing her food the waitress rushed to clear out the plate, i mean just chill we’re not even done enjoying our food here.
Every time I went to Humble rays I felt like being home. The girls and boys in the cafe are most attentive and their lovely smile has always provide me and my friend a cheerful experience.
They also saved me in my lockdown period for nice and fast deliveries ;)
They have a good range of coffee and other drinks. I love the baristas that they present every latte with love ( I mean wouldn’t a 🐻 or unicorns 🦄 on your drinks make your day? )
Some of my recommendations for food
1. Chili crab egg scramble with croissant 🥐 (a little spicy but very flavorful, you can taste the crab meat blended in the egg scramble. Just delicious! I had countless of these one with my friends and everyone who tried loved it!
2. Happy monkey (egg waffles with ice cream)
You’ll be happy like me after eating it
3. Belly dancing 💃🏻 ( pancakes with egg & bacon and bananas)
4. French toast for a sweet tooth
5. Anything on seasonal menu worth a try!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very busy place, we waited for a long long time, but the foods were definitely worth to wait!!! Lovely brunch place, you have to try it out!! highly recommend sweet potato fries and the citrus cured salmon!!! The sweet potato fries are crunchy at the outside but soft and sweet at the inside, cooked very well. Also the salmon goes very well with the vegetables and the sauce. It’s really good. Even though they are really busy, but the staffs were still managing to take care of all the tables, kind of fast food serving and being really friendly!
Been here a lot
All the food are very good presented
Service is good considering here is busy.
Price are reasonable.
Thai milk tea good
Crab crumbles good
Highly recommended and definitely I will come here often .
Seen it before and finally decided to give it a go. Little did we know it’s a very busy venue to the point that you might have to end up lining out and they don’t take reservations. They do have sitting outside but not idea for winter to be dinning out. We ordered pulled beef burger and crab scrambled eggs which was absolutely delicious. The sauce in the crab dish made up for the less carb meat. The croissant it self was sooooo good. We had coffee, latte which came with a beautiful heats design and so did the mocha but could have been better with a bit more stronger coffee beans. Service was super friendly unlike most of the places where staff are just covering shift but not providing any customer service. You go there and you get the good vibes and good food too.
Would definitely recommend…

Nice little breakfast & lunch spot! Short but sweet menu, presentation of the food & the interior atmosphere both speak volumes on the attention to detail.
Prices are what you’d expect from a place so close to the CBD, but a bright, sunlit interior and selection of specialty menus items may be the factors that keep you coming back to humble rays.
The big breakfast was really good, I think the chorizo & hash brown under the eggs really made it feel like a unique spin on an artery clogging classic.
No words can describe how amazing the food here was! Long line but we’ll worth the wait, and the service was exceptional. Staff were attentive and would reassure you of the wait times. Definitely have to try the scrambled egg w/ crab as this was no doubt the highlight of them all. Will be coming back here tomorrow to try the eggs Benedict!
Humble Rays offered delicious brunch/Modern Australian meals with a strong focus on desserts which I absolutely loved (red velvet skookie!). We ordered their salmon salad and chicken hot sauce burger also and they were tasty, fresh, beautifully presented and generously portioned. The service was prompt and friendly, the cafe was quite spacious and beautifully modern. Highly recommended.
Amazing chilli scramble crab croissant just like what other people said. The egg Benny was delicious too. The French toast was nice but I think the savoury topped it. Will be back again.
