I Loved this little bit of France in the middle of the city.
Best coffee around.
food was tasty and quick.
Dessert looked amazing and didn't disappoint.
I have been to this cafe on 4 occasions. Each time I have had amazing food and service. I can’t fault this cafe in any way, and I will continue to dine there.
Went to Laurent Little Collins after having the “Charlotte Aux Fraises” from Chadstone as the birthday cake for my 5 year old girl. Got the “Rubis”, few other “individuals” cakes and some pastries on our way back home. The “individual” cakes and the pastries were over before we reached home itself (thanks to my wife and my two small girls-I had the bits and ends). The “Rubis” is yet to be pounded upon! Awesome work guys, Keep it up! Will definitely come back, again n again n again!
As always fantastic.
Back here now for another coffee.
Has the best french pastries ever.
Absolutely amazing! Delicacies of Europe at last a place of quality food & service...
Great coffee & pastries to die for. Yum yum. Will be back soon.
The passionfruit tart here oh my - so yummy! I miss coming here during the day to take a break and enjoy a coffee and admire the cake display. Hopefully I can get back there soon when restrictions ease
Laurent served tea, coffee, sandwiches and had on their display an array of beautiful-looking pastries and cakes. I’d been here a few times, and while I found the savoury selections a bit stale sometimes and coffee a little underwhelming, the cakes and pastries never disappointed. There were a lot of delectable modern style cakes and some classic pastries to choose from. Loved the Parisian ambiance and decor of this cafe, and service was pretty friendly when they were not busy.
My goodness the Strawberry Tart is a dessert worthy of your daily calorie intake! It has the most crumbly and delicious shortcrust pastry and the strawberry flavour is simply gorgeous.
10/10 would recommend!
Perfect spot to grab a croissant and coffee on the go! Staff always look after me especially on a busy work day
Great spot to grab a sandwich for lunch or pastry and coffee for breakfast!
We stumbled upon the Laurent at Little Collins St while walking around that part of town. What a beautiful spot for a coffee break!
We had a cappuccino and ice latte. Both had delightfully strong coffee flavour which went superbly well with the puff pear. The pastry was fresh and crispy. The pear filling was not overly sweet and really hit the spot!
There are multiple Laurent branches around Melbourne but this particular store was exceptional.
The picture says it all. Coffee addicts paradise.
Interesting features of high ornate ceilings with French decor.
Great place to chill and regather thoughts before the crowds get in as it could get noisy here!
Cappuccino very creamy and the coffee is delicate in taste. Nice cup and saucer though. Maybe not for everyone’s taste.
Another place I love for Laurent. So happy to spend a lovely afternoon with mates. Lovely people and food.
Choux Pecan
Although a small serving, the Choux Pecan is dense in flavour. This dessert is an almond crumble topped choux base filled with pecan praline covered in vanilla chantilly and pieces of caramelised pecan, topped with pecan cremeux. To top it off, it is decorated with milk chocolate and snow sugar.
A lot of flavour is pact in each bite, so one serving should be satisfactory. Unless you’re a huge fan of sweets, you may need to order more desserts!
Tarte Bourdaloue
The Tarte Bourdaloue is a shortcrust based tart filled almond cream and topped with hand-cut pear halves. In every mouthful of the tarte, the freshness of the pear provides a natural sweetness to the dessert, while there’s a hint of nuttiness from the taste of the almond cream. A simple, yet timeless creation.
Citron Tart
The Citron Tart is a shortcrust based tart filled with lemon cremeux and a mix of slightly sweet and sour lemon curd. The texture was pleasant as the lemon curd was solid enough to withstand on its own, but was not hard, which complimented well with the refreshing taste of lemon. This really met up to my expectations of how a citron tart should be, as the sweetness of the tart and refreshing taste of the lemon were very well balanced. Highly recommended to try this dessert out, because it’s not too heavy, nor it is too light for the stomach.
Tarte Pecan
The Tarte Pecan is a honey butter sauce filled shortcrust tart filled with pecans and macadamia. This is a very rich nutty treat that combines both sweet and salty aspects together. The macadamia nuts provide a slightly bland, yet salty difference compared to the honey buttered pecans, which are sweet, and the honey and butter really gives the pecans a deep and unique flavour.
I recommend enjoying this tart with a mild tea, such as earl grey, due to the how rich the tart.
This store is quite pricey, but the quality of the desserts makes up for the price.

🌟 4.5/5
Intricately crafted exquisite tasting cakes that leaves you craving for more. I love the detail and craft in their cakes. The level of finesse makes it worthwhile at their price point. The hot chocolate was good too as it wasn't too sweet. All in all, a lovely afternoon treat.
This is one of the larger and prettier of all the Laurents. It's not the best patisserie in the area (I prefer something less commercial and mass produced), but I'll admit they do a nice lemon tart and chocolate mousse cake. Coffee is just alright.
I used to love their Bahia cake and it was the birthday cake to cut every year. I was really disappointed that they stopped making it anymore so usually a different one every year now. Love their cakes though.
Polite staff, good ambience & worth your buck! We had a skinny cap & hot choco with our amazing raspberry firangipan & a tart, everything was lovely. Just a minor glitch that we used entertainment vouchers & later realised the guy at the counter charged us extra. We should probably have looked at the bill beforehand but too busy taking to each other haha. All good, I will be careful next time.

🍰 Cake 4/5
Beautifully crafted cakes, you’ll find yourself spending 5 minutes just looking at the cakes on the counter. The chocolate mousse cake is a must, they are rich in chocolate and goes really well with a pot of tea. I also love the lemon meringue tart!
👯♀️ Service 4/5
Good service from the Laurent team.

Overall verdict ✅✅
One of my favourite place in the CBD to go for tea. Beautifully crafted cakes and nice cafe ambience. Definitely choose Laurent over Brunetti anytime.
The Christine cake is my favorite here. It is surrounded by delicate printed thin chocolate pieces like a hexagon.
When you dig the spoon in, you will break the ganache filling inside and the hazelnut mousse will ooze out. Too good!!
A bit sweet though, but nothing a coffee can't fix!
I like this place sooooo much! Beautiful!!!!! The guy who serves me today is soooo cute, love his smile( really want to ask if he’s single or not, but I am too shy) Anyway, the cake tastes so good, just a little bit sweet next time I will try the cheese cake!
Aesthetic cafe in the heart of CBD.
I love the design and atmosphere of the place, feels sophisticated but cosy. The staffs were friendly, though one was new so she had problems taking our order. Were given a number after paying and food came out pretty quick.
Had the fromage which is basically raspberry cheesecake. It was pretty good, texture was in the middle of thick and moussey, sweetness was a good level though the raspberry coulis could be bit more sour to balance the sweet. The base was quite good too.
Had peppermint tea too which were enjoyable.
Overall a really nice cafe to chill, with lots of variety of sweets and baked goods to choose from.
( follow for more!✨)

I bought this beauty for one of my colleagues birthday, this cake was called the Le Jardin Dete. This cake isn’t very heavy and it has a very summer feel to it, you can taste raspberries and the cream was light and fluffy.. also I have tried one of their other cakes called the Rubis & it taste very good too.. I would definitely try some of the other cakes next time..
I can here with a friend for a coffee and was pleasantly surprised. The interior of this patisserie is stunning and the food was so delicate and tasty.

My friend bought the cakes from here for us to share at the party. They have a lots of varieties for us to try. My favourite one is the strawberry tart, the filling is so creaming not too sweet which goes perfectly with the sweet sour strawberry. Their chocolate ones are also yum not too sweet as well!
This bakery offers cakes, sweets, pastries & so much more. Such a lovely place with great food!
Could not fault it .
Service was easy and quick and efficient .
Treat yourself!
I love the desserts at this place! Love everything about it and the old fashioned feel to the cafe! Can’t walk past and not get something delicious!

Probably the best lamb focaccia I've had in my life, the plan was to eat it on the run while on my lunch break, but after a few bites I had to sit on a bench and enjoy every bite. Took a risk gettin the lamb as lamb can be hard to get right because it's a fatty meat, but this was seasoned and cooked perfectly, loved the touch of Mediterranean eggplant as well. Will happily go again to try again, and others.
Always one of my favourite patisseries to visit for some delicate French desserts and pastries. The cafe is elegant, classy and traditional, and the staff are very polite and assisting.
Strawberry tarts are one of my favourite desserts ever, so of course I couldn’t go past getting one for myself! The tart base was crisp, the custard filling was creamy but light, and the strawberries were sweet and tart. Perfect!
The prices are quite steep though, so it’s definitely just a once in a while treat!
Service was good, my baguette was yummy and my fav Castel was divine.. coffee was alrite, it was cold and raining outside and warm and comfy inside, what more can u ask for :D
Although pricey, a great spot to grab some cakes for an office morning tea. The lemon tart is always a staff favorite. The croissants come a close second.
A wonderful bakery for some amazing cakes, the range of cakes available is really good and the small cakes on display are so delectable, so tried a few and both tasted amazing
The cake here is so nice. They are likely to be the most unsweet cakes I have ever ate in Melbourne. It is sweet but not over sweet. I love the tart! However, latte is too bitter instead of tasty.
Always a pleasure to stop off here for a coffee and a pastry. Indoor, outside and upstairs seating. Efficient service and well presented coffee.
Cute cafe to chill! I ordered the Castel, which is a Hazelnut meringue, hazelnut ceam and nougatine decorated with dark chocolate. Personally, it was too sweet for my liking, but the flavours worked well together! Just a little tiny bit pricey though :')
Went for a brunch with collegues . It has a good menu options . The sandwiches and croissants were yum. Even though they had milk shakes on the menu ,when asked they said they don't serve them and gave us iced chocolate which was avg as it was not sweet at all. Rest all were good. Seating area is quiet big to accommodate a gud crowd.
Cute place tucked inside an alley. I tried their hot chocolate and its smooth and calming. Not overly sweet. I saw a wide selection of cakes on their display and will definitely be back to try some. Ambience and service are very accommodating for some quick read or meetups
I've been coming here since it first opened back in the late 90's and I still love the place. Following a mediocre lunch on Hardware Lane and en route to Flinders Station I dropped in for something to sweeten the palate. Decided on a Tarte Passion and the Tarete Au Citron, washed down with a good soy flat-white. As always beautifully baked and presented baked delights, the tarts both had a nice velvet textured curd in-cased in an evenly baked crust which crumbled beautifully in the mouth. As always when I'm at Laurent I end up sitting there for ages, entrenched in conversation while people watching in between; I missed several trains but it was worth it.
I heart Laurent and find all the branches are consistently yummy. The cakes always look super appealing and I haven’t yet tasted one that wasn’t sensational. Just like a French patisserie without the international flight
Got the yuzu. Tasted okay. This place has the brunetti vibe but with lesser dessert options.
A good place to chill and hang out. Best for couples, wouldn't say so for groups.
Ordered a cake from Laurent. We knew that the desserts here were great. The cake we brought was light and rich, it wasn't too heavy on the stomach. I want to try other flavours from here.
Visited this cafe every time we come to Melbourne. There have a good selection of dessert to choose from. Love their cakes and their coffee was great. Amazing service and such a great cafe for catch up and afternoon tea.
Laurent boulangerie patisserie on little Collins. Nice cake shop in CBD and one of the best cakes in Melbourne. It is nice to have a coffee with a cake in the afternoon and catch up with friends.
Points for: cakes
Dine Time: weekend late afternoon
Nice selection of delicate cakes for afternoon tea.
The choux pecan had a nice surprise of candied pecans inside, and the black forest had a smooth rich dark chocolate ganache.
The interior feels a bit dated Parisian, but probably what it's going for, especially with the area it's in. There are many laneways and cafes that feel like you're in Europe.
A hidden gem of Melbourne, decadent pastry and lovely coffee in a relaxed and tasteful setting. Quick and friendly service and even on a busy service it all came out together and with a smile.
I like the elegant atmosphere of this cafe. I often go to buy a simple baguette here, but sandwiches and cakes are also delicious. It is a pity that the baguette I purchased was too dry once and it was hard to cut with a knife.
To be honest I was expecting a bit more from their croissant - wasn't as crispy as I had liked, although I did go at the end of the day near closing time. Their almond croissant has a thick almond paste filling which I personally wasn't a fan of, but it's definitely bang for your buck! Will be back to try more of their patisserie though.
The cake here exactly nice and awesome . Every time will come for the meringue tart and strawberry tart , really tasty . For service is good , and the price reasonable , if your consider dining here definitely yes the environment is good .
Cozy and beautifull also their service was good.all very yummy and Hot Mocca Coffee was yummy.Trio cake Lamb Small burger was all tasty.
Recommended after a day of shoping.
The venue looks very nice and elegant decor. There are many variety of cakes to choose from and in general the cakes are good, the coffee is also good. The waiter cleaned my table and dropped dirty cuttlery on my laps without apologising. IMO, service was below average. But again everything else was good!
The place is simply perfect if you like strong coffee and stunning desserts! We have been here 3 times through our week-long trip to Melbourne and will come back when visit the city again. They serve best eclairs ever and we also enjoyed a cheesecake and a pecan tart there. The staff is very friendly and professional!
You cannot deny that this is one of Melbourne's most pleasantly located Laurent's, at least based on my experience visiting various Laurent outlets in the CBD and the Inner South. Admittedly, these past experiences have been mediocre at best. If anyone thinks they have a better recommendation for the "Best Location - Laurent" in Melbourne, please let me know.
Coffee: had a long black and instantly regretted not ordering a cappuchino (I imagine Laurent is not one to be stingy with the choco topping sprinkles). The Long Black was average: nothing to see here. Additionally had donut (with a filling), this was delicious I admit even though I don't like the Laurent Franchise.
Great place to have lunch or a coffee and small pastry. I recommend the roast vegetable roll, really good. The only downside is I think their prices are a bit high but since the caffe decor is so cute I don't mind too much.
*Added .5* I had the cakes with a friend, super cute and really reasonably priced in my opinion. A nice treat for yourself or to share with someone. Lemon meringue tart was really good, I liked it more than the chocolate mousse cake but both were super good.
Gorgeous cakes and pastries in a charmful setting. I was after an almond croissant fix and took one to go. Friendly staff and the croissant was good, pastry could have been more crispy but the filling was nice and it satisfied my craving for $4.95.
I just love this place, it's at a great spot.
Had been there for many times, passion fruit tart is my favorite, not too sweet, and really refreshing.
Laurent established it’s first bakery in Toorak Road, South Yarra at the Como Centre in 1993, since then it has opened 15 branches. Today I visited the Little Collins St branch during my lunch break, as I’m in a bit of a French patisserie streak because all I’ve seen on my feed this weekend is baked goods.
Ok I'm a sucker for pretty foods i know i know... Its Definitely not cheap and although its not majorly fantastic its still worth the appreciation. This chocolate mousse cake thingy majig was a bit too rich for me but lucky i shared it with mama bear and brother bear.
Service was ok. Didn't try to introduce me to other items or up-sell me, so i ended up on getting the one. But i did get it during rush hour so perhaps they were too busy?
Had a generous serving of minestrone soup & man this was hot & hearty!
Atmosphere - pleasant, service - friendly.
Lovely place, will return for a cuppa :)
The cakes were a tad expensive and were of an average quality. The cheesecake was a bit too soft. The Bora Bora cake tasted exotic. The staff were courteous.
Sinfully amazing desserts and they serve an excellent selection of soups too. Food is quite good and to top it all off, the ambiance just let's you dial down and enjoy what's on the plate.
Highly recommend the apricot and pistachio tart.
Stumbled across this little place by accident and we're very glad we did. The coffee was lovely, had some delicious cakes to share and it has a nice relaxing atmosphere. The display cabinet looks amazing with all fresh cakes pastries and other delights. I found the service slightly slow but it was worth the wait. My partner went back and suprised me with a gorgeous birthday cake which had been personalised for me which was fantastic. All in all a very good experience.
Awesome dessert but terrible attitude. I will give 4 if they offer a better service. Personally love the strawberry tart. It's fresh and lighter in flavor. Must try it if you prefer something fruity.
It might not be the coolest cafe down a lane way but it is in a really nice old building. Coffee can be a bitter but the croissants are nice and fluffy.
Gorgeous establishment for a quiet coffee and cake although the service here demerits the experience substantially, with staff a bit brusque and rushed. Nonetheless the lemon meringue and mietta were lovely and beautifully presented.
Great coffee. Great petite cakes. Great service and reasonable prices too. I rate it better than Brunetti. The location is constantly busy and can be hard to find a seat.
Fantastic petite cakes and great Sunday catchup place but service was a little poor! Doesn't stop me from loving the food though! Had the berry tart, lemon meringue tart and escargot which was fresh and delicious
I come here every time I go to Melbourne! I just love the look of the place! The cakes and pastries are delicious, coffee good, but really, it's just a lovely place to sit with a friend. I will be back the next time I'm in town!
Amazing delicious desserts! Would highly recommend if your looking for cake and coffee. The service is friendly and the food is amazing. A must in Melbourne!
Great tasting food, very friendly staff and a great vibe - be-it indoors or out. Laurent is easily one of Melbourne's best light-eating cafes. I wouldn't particularly recommend breakfast, however it is the perfect spot for catching up with friends over a coffee and treat.
