Some of the best Indian food we have ever had. The cheese naan was so full of flavour I could happily eat that for a meal! All our ordered dishes were amazing, spicy when requested and perfectly spiced. Absolutely loved it and will be back.
The young lady who served me was polite and helpful. Helped me make a very good choice of beef and potato madras. It was very good and I’m a bit of an Indian food snob. I would definitely recommend -
Thank you
We were craving some Indian and this place was close to our hotel and had good reviews...it didnt disappoint! We were surprised as there wasnt a crowd or a long wait, which I was expecting on a Saturday night....so super happy, and the food was delicious and the service prompt (the kitchen staff looked happy and were having a laugh which was nice to see)
Every time the wife and myself travel from Tasmania to attend the footy we make any effort get there for a meal. Friendly staff the best food at reasonably priced. Go Pies
Currently in Lakes Entrance.....best eva samosas, the filling was perfect and the crust was Devine.......needs a mango chutney & a relish instead though;)
Good food. Bit pricey for the portion served.
Just fantastic, from the friendly service to the quality of food on offer.
We loved the butter chicken, it was superb. The samosas were great as well.
Definitely coming back
Food was good, but pricy. Portion sizes were small. I came here with a party of 5 and I believe we ended up spending around $40/person and still being hungry. Ended up wandering to a nearby thai restaurant to fill up on desserts XD
Gosh this place is THAT GOOD. They make a delicious tangy chicken and it was very mild last time and I asked for it hot next time and wow... so yum. They also have a pretty decent house Sauvignon blanc too for $18... on those nights after a long day working sometimes you just need a heap of wine and spice!
All breast meat makes me very happy. I just hate Indian restaurants serving fatty thighs. They do it spot on and it’s been a 5/5 the last 2 orders.
1st time in melbourne Wonderful experience awesome food very good service highly rate a visit to the two fat indians authentic indian food great staff
Our go-to Indian food! Flavourful dishes that don’t break the bank. I was happy to discover this a few months back because I was craving for Indian food. We use Deliveroo to order from them every week. I especially love their samosas.
Came here last night and really couldn’t fault it. We had the Maharajah banquet and there was loads of food. We also added a garlic prawns curry. All the curries were creamy and delicious. Plenty of jasmine rice and naan was included. The starters consisted of a few delicacies. Dessert was kulfi and once again, a very decent sized serve. The only downer was they seemed understaffed with just two people serving an almost full restaurant. I don’t know if this is the norm, or just that somebody called in sick. We used an Eat Club deal that gave us 55% off. Reading some reviews here, it seems people feel they got smaller portions because of using a deal. On arrival, I told the waitress but I’m not sure if it registered. Either way - a great meal with leftovers for lunch!
Some of the best Indian we have ever had - definitely the best cheese naan. Each dish was full of flavour, filling and served exactly to our request. Staff were friendly and inviting. Our new favourite Indian restaurant.
The menu looks standard but the food is far from ordinary. My $10 entree of samosa cat was generous, delicious and looked beautiful. It was thoughtfully prepared. The main of vegetable korma was mild in flavour but delicious with a great consistency. The staff were friendly and helpful too. I hope I get the chance to return.
The food was a little on the expensive side however i feel they are able to do this because it is of a high quality. They offer you select dishes rather than the standard curry house option of every meat with every sauce/gravy. I for one loved the change and set menu. As a large fan of Indian food I asked the waitress to recommend a dish, Palak Paneer, which was full of flavour and cooked brilliantly.
I wouldn't say this is a tucked away gem being on a main road of this great city we call Melbourne, but it certainly gives you the feeling that it is. The atmosphere is marvelous, Indian music playing with the perfect amount of volume that it blocks out any traffic noise however.
I had no concerns with the service, friendly, chatty, and a big one for me, not over bearing. Come on down and give it a try.
Place is magic and is perfectly located in front of the MCG! 😍👏🏻 During the season it is a great place to dine at before games. Go the Mighty Hawks
Two Fat Indians has been an source of reliable Indian food ever since I discovered that they delivered when I used to live in East Melbourne. Now that I live further afield I tend to dine a little sparingly and usually when there is something on at the Gee.
This restaurant has a beautifully presented interior and is clearly leaps and bounds ahead of your typical Indian eatery.
I love their butter chicken as it isnt mega on tomato but is still creamy and flavoursome. There was mixed opinions about the butter chicken around the table based on the tomato factor (traditional vs western) but I’m in the “i loved it” camp.
The lamb saagwala had tender cubes of lamb in a mild curry. Breads were quite good but the garlic naan wasn’t hugely garlicky so perhaps ask for extra garlic if thats your preference.
They have a reasonable wine list with me opting for a local Pinot Noir by the glass. Much better to drink a few here than from plastic at the Gee
Cost wise Two Fat Indians isn’t your bargain basement eat of the century but it does have the added bonus of being in the 17/18 Entertainment Book (25% Off up to $25) so this helps 👍🏽
This was the first time I had dinned in rather than getting their food delivered and I enjoyed the experience.
One of the best Indian restaurants around.
Really excellent buttered chicken.
It is a little on the costly side though.
However, they do a cost efficient lunch special (but the portions are slightly on the small size)
Really great curries! Had palak panner and chicken curry. Both fabulous! It reminded me the curries my mum used to make. Never been in the restaurant thou. Just ubereats ☺️
We loved Two Fat Indians delicious smashed samosa. Comfort food at its best, fluffy potato and greenpea cakes were adorned with the most luxuriously zesty and spicy tamarind and mint chutneys. Freshly chopped onions and coriander along with yogurt worked in harmony with the spice by adding a desirable freshness.
Very nice Indian food with a lovely atmosphere. Very helpful and friendly waiters too. I recommend getting the banquet or getting a couple of mains to share as most options are quite superb. True to the location though, the food is a little expensive...
Used to live in east melb and frequently came to this place, thought we'd come back from across the bridge to try it again and were not disappointed, still excellent food and service. Had cheese rote, lamb rogan josh & butter chicken. Perfect 👌🏼👌🏼
Best Indian food I have had in so long. The flavours were amazing and they have a few vegan options (and were even willing to alter the options to make them vegan).

Probably one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to in Melbourne. The establishment is well furnished with a large bar and mood lighting. Definitely worthy of a first date venue, but without the expensive price tag. Prices are slightly dearer compared to other Indian restaurants, but you get what you pay for.
Nice and simple place to have Indian food! It's located just across from the MCG in East Melbourne. Now coming to the food, it's pretty good. We ordered butter roti, butter Naan, garlic Naan and palak paneer. The food was delicious. And the staff is extremely receptive and responsive, not to mention friendly.
What a great find in the Melbourne CBD.
Everything we ordered was full of flavour, service was friendly and you can BYO wine.
Prices were a bit on the steep side - probably due to it's location, but they are part of the Entertainment book.
Ticks all the boxes!
Amazing butter chicken and butter naan; jeera rice was okay. thank you for helping me finish a very stressful day on a happy note. Will visit again....
Perfect. Delicious. Amazing. I can not speak highly enough of this curry joint. Delivered through Uber eats in 30min.
Will definitely be ordering again, again, again and again.
Enjoyed the tandoori chicken, goats curry, lamb naan, garlic naan and a "generous serve" of basmati rice. The meals were freshly cooked, had a great amount of chili in the curry, portions big and were fantastically delicious. Lamb naan played a good part in mopping up the sauce from the curry. Chicken was very succulent, especially when teamed with the yogurt sauce it came with. We were starving so much so, that we forgot to take pics. The only criticism is, is that it dos not come soon enough. Will be ordering again for home delivery, very soon.
I cant believe how good this is for home delivery. Tandoor mushrooms and butter kofta are the best ive ever had. I will be ordering from here all the time now.
We ordered via uber eats and were really impressed with the food!!! We had the sour lime chicken and pepper beef made extra spicy. Perfect flavours. Even the roti tasted great for something that doesn't travel well with take away. Definitely going back for more!
UberEATS suggested Two Fat Indians - and we love Indian - so a no brained.
Food was delivered within 25min of ordering. For starters we had the lamb and the vegetarian samosa. And a great start!
For main we had butter chicken and beef madras. The chicken was very mild and creamy with cashews pieces through it. My favourite dish! The beef was 'blow your head off' spicy. Both had lots and lots of meat which was great! The kashmiri naan was...interesting....dried cherries and lots of sultanas with little pistachios. The macadamia pieces were good!
Overall, good food. But I would suggest asking to turn the spice down. Will order from again.
Thanks team!
Excellent meal. Definitely eat here again, great service and very fresh and tasty. Butter chicken was perfect and vindaloo was amazing too. Something for everyone. Will be back when we visit Melbourne again.
Got takeaway and Ordered mild meals which was just about right for someone who likes a nice kick to a meal. The butter chicken was standard but the rogan josh was definately a stand out as the meat was soft and fell apart!!!
If ordering take away make sure you order extra rice as the portion sizes are small.
Delivery time was 30 min which I thought was very good for a Sunday night
Amazing Deli style curries - love love love the butter chicken!! I've never eaten in, but the take away food is Devine! The naan breads are perfectly made and generous with the garlic bread. The saffron Basmati rice is perfectly seasoned and full of flavour.
The indian food at Two Food Indians is the best I have had a long time. Suggest the Pander Saag and Goat . Service was prompt and polite. Restaurant offer a range of beer wines, cider and spirits. Convenientely located adjacent to Pullman Hotel and near the nearby Quest Apartments.
My first online order on the zomato platform - woohoo! The minty lemon chicken, naan bread, seekh kebab and kuchumber salad were delivered to a girlfriend and I in the space of half an hour.
My order was accepted within a couple mins and I was constantly informed of its delivery status. The food was the right quality, quantity and temperature. I ate to my heart's content in the comfort of my baggy clothes, my couch and my turned up heater.
We put on our PJs, rented the Aussie movie Paper planes and had chats and laughs over some good old-fashioned curry. Perfect night in!
One of the best if you are after good indian food. Convenient location, scrumptious food and reasonable service. This one is our pick along with Aangan for indian food in melbourne. Good choice of veg options and for people with entertainment book there is 25% discount. Expect to pay $70 for two with drinks.

Your boi's back! Indian, more like WINdian! Finally a place where the food tastes like it's from Delhi but the decor doesn't feel like it. Comfortable setting, good service, food delicious. Jai ho!
excellent. ordered from them a couple of times. food tastes really great and although they forgot item in delivery once they were quick to return and bring the missing item.
This is a bit of a Melbourne Institution and those who like their Indian food will undoubtedly know of Two Fat Indians. It has a prominent location on Wellington Parade, and I’ve driven past it many times coming in and out of the Melbourne CBD. It had also been recommended to me by numerous credible sources and so it has been on my wishlist for a while. Finally, I got my chance to visit when we needed an impromptu dinner venue after watching Intestellar at the IMAX nearby. There were three of us, and we took a table near the middle of the restaurant. I liked the leather chairs with their high backs. It conveyed a sense of formality and the restaurant can be one for an occasion or an informal impromptu visit such as ours. The menu is fairly standard and includes a number of familiar favourites. We ordered a spicy dahl, a vegetable korma and some tandoori chicken, as well as rice, pappadums, raita and mango chutney to complete the feast. For drinks, we also got some mango lassi. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was rich and tasty. My favourite was the vegetable korma, and the tandoori chicken came a very close second. The gigantically tall mango lassi was also very delicious. Email This
Professional and attentive service. We went to this restaurant last night on a "deal". The food was tasty and the portions very generous. We could choose items from the menu - there was not a special "deals" menu. I thoroughly recommend this establishment to anyone who enjoys Indian cuisine
Delicious food, friendly and prompt service. Fine for the kids. No complaints!
We have just had the most beautiful meal! Two of us shared 3 mains (butter chicken, lamb rogan josh and, best of all, sour lime chicken), and ALL were to die for. The meals were delivered to the table in no time at all, and were washed down with a delicious bottle of Squealing Pig Sav Blanc from Marlborough, NZ. Service was prompt and polite, and we would definitely be back if we lived in Melbourne! (Sorry, we're from Adelaide!).

Amazing curry. We just had Two Fat Indian curry delivered and it was so beautiful I was compelled to join Urbanspoon to write a review. I lived in Tooting in London for several years and missed UK curries but this is simply amazing. I ordered a fish curry and my boyfriend ordered chicken. The fish was incredibly fresh NZ rockling (great that they actually told you which fish they would be using) and the chicken was breast with no fat. The flavours in both curries were incredible and the serving sizes were good. I won't go anywhere else in Melbourne for curry now.
Okay experience.... I went here for dinner a few weeks ago with a friend. I was really impressed by the mains (lamb madras and a goat dish), oh and the nan was superb. However, I was a bit disappointed with the mixed starter patter, the samosa and onion bhaji were over cook. I also found it a little expensive.
Very good food, and good service. Portions were on the smaller side but excellent quality. Went in a group of 8 who were all well pleased.
Nice flavours but with both our dishes the chicken was quite dry and over cooked. Service was good. Would go back.

Very attentive staff, great food & service.
Try it yourself, I am sure you enjoy!
Great food & service. The food & service was fantastic the staff were very attentive, great ambience. Would highly recommend this restaurant. The butter chicken was wonderful.
Great food, service and value. Went to this restaurant on a quiet Tuesday night. Service was extremely welcoming and the food was great. Had the vegetable Korma which was great with a little heat, Chicken Tika Masala, with a Tandoori Chicken. All the food was spot on. Highly recommended.
Thank you TFI.... Thanks fo.... Thank you TFI....
Thanks for going out of your way to ensure we could get the delivery order :)). Everything we ordered is tasty, full of flavor & arrived hot. Using the chicken breast in the butter chicken, lovely and tender. Will order again thanks
Hey, it's not Glasgow, so don't expect American portions of Chicken Tikka. But it is decent freshly cooked familiar food. It's not Age Food Guide stuff, but we liked it. Maybe we were too hungry.
Great pre-concert dinner. Pre-concert dinner was great. Don't be deceived by the size of the dishes - once you add rice, they're quite substantial. The only difficulty was choosing from the wide variety. Friendly service added to a great evening. Will definitely return.
Top notch tucker. Plenty of variety here service food and decore was excellent plenty of room between tables will be back
Fantastic and indulgent take-away.
Good modern Indian place. I went with my friends there on Sunday. Very nice food and modern sitting. Lots of variety of Indian food. Starters were really good.

Worth a tip. After a day dragging my partner around the cbd shopping, a good feed was in order! We telephoned to make a reservation and 45 minutes later we were experiencing the best indian we've ever had. Service was prompt and super friendly. The dishes we reasonably priced, we just hoped that they would be slightly bigger serves. Both the lamb and chicken dishes were tasty and tender and flavoursome enough given we prefer mild indian. The meal didn't leave a heavy after feeling as we've experienced with other indian restaurants. We'll be recommending this to our Melbourne friends and returning next time we're in town.
No mystery meat here! A little more 'upmarket' than the average Indian restaurant, in terms of both price and service. Biggest plus in my book is that the place appears fastidiously, scrupulously, sparklingly clean - which has not been my experience at some other Indian restaurants.
Slow service, yet friendly enough. Food was good though. Not your traditional indian restaurant with a more modern look and feel to the dining area, but food kept relatively traditional. Would drop back in for a feed in the area. There are better indian feeds around town.
Very enjoyable meal. A bit on the classy side for an Indian restaurant. Staff were very friendly and on the ball. We had butter chicken, chicken Saag, naan and rice. All perfect.
Stylish indian. Great restaurant and food at this place! It is a little pricy for indian but well worth it! The restaurant is stylish and service very attentive. Butter Chicken & Vegie Korma was delish as well as the onion baji so light & tasty. Highly recommended!
Best Indian in Melbourne. Have been coming here regularly for both dine in and delivery over the last couple of years and it is by far the best and most consistent indian food in melbourne. Butter Chicken here is awesome.
Cheers
What can I say! This cozy restaurant has left the best impression! Hospitable host, delicious dishes and beautiful presentation! The food is absolutely amazing, everything we tasted melted in our mouth. We we’re very impressed with the food especially the curries.Highly recommend
Best Butter Chicken & Garlic Naan I’ve ever eaten. Tastes fresh and clean, doesn’t leave an oily after taste. It’s lighter than any others I’ve eaten. Highly recommend!!!
Had a wonderful meal at the Two Fat Indians. My party of 7 had the set menu with the desert. Service was fast and friendly. The food quality was superb. The restaurant was clean and felt very comfortable. The place got really busy and had a wonderful vibe. Highly recommended. Will be returning.
LOVE THIS PLACE! I've ordered from here on meal delivery services twice and their butter chicken has an OUTSTANDING smoky flavour, unparalleled by any other I've tasted. They know how to make an Aussie level mild curry and can still turn up the heat just right! I would give a 5 except that both times our orders were missing 1 item (it was printed correctly on the order ticket attached to our bag so definitely the fault of the restaurant not delivery partner). Not enough to turn me away because their response to issues is outstanding!
Spectacular every time! We love the butter chicken and cheese naan. The meats used are big chunks of quality cuts that shines through the dishes. Services is pretty good and efficient too.
