Been living in Melbourne for just over a year now and finally gave this place a try. I must say I'm really dissappointed.... IN MYSELF for not trying this place sooner. Had the Manburger and it is easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. The Canadian Gravy fries were really good as well. Highly recommend for any burger fanatic!
It was my first time in melbourne and got off a tram and saw this place. Staff were friendly and helpful and even though it was quite busy my food was served within 5-10min. Def recommend chicken burger and the fries with aioli dippin sauce OMG YUMMO

Rocket burgers has THE best burgers i have ever eaten in the world and i am a massive burger fan. I went to the footy last night with some of my mates and we decided to have rocket burgers as it was in such a convenient location right outside the train station and it was looking busy so we thought we might take a look and i’m so glad we did. The chips are delicious best i’ve ever had and it was the shortest waiting time i’ve ever had to wait for my food. They are quick and the employees are super nice. The burgers themselves are literally unreal. Such good combos of flavours and the buns were soft brioche type buns which are my favourite. The whole meal overall was amazing it was very cheap and affordable for such large quantities of food. I will no doubt be back for more next time i’m in the city! Everyone needs to try this place 😻👍🏼
First time getting these fries - and OMG the regular fries were a huge portion, I only 'scraped' the top and felt so full from it. The chips were surprisingly super super crunchy! It was like crunching on paper haha the most crunchiest tastiest fries ever!

Am writing on behalf of my partner who thoroughly enjoyed his Man Burger combo that came with a generous portion of fries and a can of soda. He said the pattie tasted home made - service was great and he would go back again. No pics due to him being too hungry to snap a gram
It’s actually has a good combination of the dressings. It taste good, tehy give a generous portion as well, but the main issues is too oily. I tried the man burger and i like it except the oiliness..
This burger place is a YES! Grabbed a cheese burger and the meat patty was well cooked and had flavour too. Along with the gerkins as well it was a hit for me.
We ordered a rocket classic burger. The beef patty was very succulent and juicy, the buns were soft and springy, it was a simple burger but all the flavours came together beautifully, the prices are pretty standard but well worth it.
One of the best burgers i have had in the CBD. The service is pretty quick so that helps with the hunger😅
I have tried the
•Cheeseburger which was very much a basic burger, nothing over the top there.
•Rocket classic burger, loved the combination of mustard, mayo and the ketchup
•Man-Burger is the best i love. A little hard to hold everything together, harder to put it in the mouth in one go. But its simply the messiest and the best one i have ever had.
•Vegetarian Burger, not the best one according to me. I have never been a fan of vegetarian burger and this one didn’t change anything yet.
And the fries are just divine. Out of the three loaded fries they have in there I love the Tex Mex cheesy salsa the most.
A well-seasoned burger is a rare beastie: Rocket is that unicorn. The burgers are packed with flavour, juiciness and the proper level of seasoning. The fries are ordinary and poor value for money but the burgers are what you come here for. Perfect on a cold night or hell - any time.
Had the Loaded French fries with cheese and Canadian gravy. Was pretty good. The gravy was flavorsome and the fries were thick and tasty, but is you wait for some time before eating them as i did they become a bit soft and no longer retain the crunch associated with fries. Also i felt the fries together with the gravy was a bit on the saltier side. Service was prompt and the location is ideal, grab some fries and get on the train!
Famished after work and surprise surprise, the barista from walkers donuts with the infectious smile was serving.
5/5 would love to come back, order another French Canadian and see her smile.

First time trying out Rocket Burger and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be!
Food: We ordered the Man-burger and modified the original a little bit. We ditched the bacon and replaced the BBQ sauce on the patties with a Garlic aioli. Add two beef patties, double cheese and all the staples and you have a BOMB burger!
We got it sliced in half and shared - the burger was so good that we wished we had gotten two! Extremely juicy and dripping with sauce, this burger was 'satisfying' especially if you are craving a beef patty. The pickles added a crunch and the combo is definitely a little sloppy like a sloppy joe!
Service: Friendly server, she guided us with all the modifications we wanted and accommodated them all. Appreciated the smiles :)
Price: $13 for the double patty.
Seating: FYI seating is definitely tight, you can grab the two bar stools outside. The burger comes in a paper take away box which is very convenient to grab n go. Perfect for a night on the town!
PS: The chicken and meat are halal, and cooked on the same stove as bacon.

My go to for an of the run value for money burger experience with no nonsense. Always freshly made big burgers guaranteed to hit the spot. Customer service is a little loose but that just me not picking
Dropped in for a quick burger here today after walking past so many times. Service can be a little slow which is annoying but at least they were friendly.
I ordered the original which I must say was pretty impressive. A nice mix of flavours added with a nice soft bun really made this quite an enjoyable burger.
Also ordered the fries which were beer battered and had the bbq sauce dipping sauce to go with them that was tangy and just bloody brilliant.
A very enjoyable meal around!
This place is on my favourite cnr in Melbourne. The burgers are simple and tasty. The patty is always cooked just right and yeah you may wait a little which is a good thing cause you go next door to Walker's donuts for, wait for it, donuts and coffee. Come back grab your burger and you're in fast food heaven. Can't recommend this place enough.
Had a quick cheeseburger here, the service was a bit slow and we had to wait a while but the wait was worth it. The burger was really crunchy and filled with garnishment. The patty was nice and well cooked.

WOW! I rarely get a burger and fries but I had a particular craving this evening. The lovely lady who served me was the first positive experience. I ordered the plain cheeseburger with added guac and pineapple. I also requested the chips be extra crispy which they were.
The bun was super soft, meat pattie was so juicy and tender (not dripping in fat but enough to make it tasty) right amount of sauce and 10min after finishing I thought to myself I want another one!!! *slaps hand* too many calories to burn off :p
Burgers and chips are very nice. A little bit of time cleaning their counter wouldn’t hurt. Chips are as good as you would get. Friendly staff, with a minimal wait for food.

Surprisingly decent burgers (subconsciously assumed they'd be trash since the location used to be a Lord of the Fries). Had both the Cheeseburger and the Rocket Classic. Definitely acceptable, as are the prices.

These burgers are some of the best in Melbourne, and definitely underrated. The beef patties are well seasoned and the chips are crunchy. The big Bang Burger is amazing and it's better value than many similar places. Highly recommended!
Surpsingly underrated compared to a lot of the burger joints in the CBD. This place is cheap compared to a couple of others while serving up great burgers, onion rings and fries. Only real con is near non-existant seating.
The man burger taste good with. Double layer beef meat , lovely . And the onion ring little up sad , because might the flour too much so while deep fried result not very delicious ,need improved , and lastly the services is good , thumbs up . Overall the burger is great
Rocket Burgers and Fries is located across the road from Flinders Street Station on Elizabeth Street in Melbourne’s CBD and serves up all manners of burgers and fries at this small stall. Man Burger Value Combo $18 (Incl. Drink and Chipotle Hummus). Feeling particularly hungry (what’s new?), I ordered the Man Burger with double bacon, double beef, double cheese and lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, BBQ sauce and mayo in a sesame bun. What a burger this was! As soon as I picked it up, it started to fall apart, dripping with oil. Nevertheless, it was certainly a filling meal with well-done fries and delicious chipotle hummus which was smooth and very flavourful. Great value for $18!
Not a burger person but after trying out this place I had to change my mind. They have the best burgers ever. But the chips not so great. Would go back again for the burgers for sure.
Midnight snack, yes this place is open late. And the burgers are awesome. Had the classic cheese - crisp and soft warm bun, great tasting patty, melted cheese and pickles. So, so good.
Loved the burger. Very generous servings and I was delighted by ordering the burger with the lot for $11. The chips were also a generous serving considering it was regular size. Aioli sauce goes well with the chips. Considering the quality of the food and also excellent service. $16 for a meal deal isn't too bad for good food! Haven't tried the burgers here yet but this is our stop for hot chips after we grab hot dogs from walkers next door!
The chips here are great, large bowl is a good portion size with chicken salt and with a few different dipping sauces to choose from.

I love this place. I always order their chicken fillet burger and it's super moist with a great combo of sauces. Their sweet potato fries are a great alternative to normal fries. I come here every single time I go to the CBD. I also recommended it to my friends from South Australia and some tourists I came across. I love you Rocket Burger.

I liked these burgers, the bread, the meat, the point of cook, the fries, the onion rings, all good, upon the average. The best is the place, in front of the main train station. Perfect for take away or a fast lunch before take the train. Cheap food and good size!
Been here a couple of times, boy do they have amazing crispy chips and amazing sauces. Their vegetarian burger hits the spot for me as I love spicey food but overly hot. The guacamole gives the burger a creamy texture and the pattie is crispy and flavoursome. They accidentally gave my order to some one else but that was easily fixed. Besides that it's quick and friendly service

Rocket Burger provides some of the biggest, cheapest but tastiest burgers on offer. I had the Man Burger (+jalapeños) and my dining partner had the veg. We loved both. Great patties cooked medium, complemented well with good, no fuss toppings and sauces. I highly recommend their fries, crunchy, well salted and came out hot (much better than beer battered ones in my opinion).
Only negatives were that my burger was messy and a tiny bit oily. Also the sauces did not come through as I would have liked due to the massive patties.
Service was fine. The environment lets this place down. I do not like the outdoor seating, which is cramped. The tables were not wiped well either. On a cold winter's day, I feel the seating detracts from the eating experience on the whole. On a side note, there are no nearby facilities to wash your hands after eating their mammoth burgers, which is annoying. Cannot do much about this admittedly.
I will return for their tasty but worthwhile comfort food. ( I did not take the best photos as they were still in the box, but I tell you, the burgers were huge).
I had the cheesy bacon loaded fries, was hands down the BEST fries I have had! The cheese was amazing and the chips were crunchy! Was skeptical about going there due to the location being in a kinda dodgy area, but I ended up going back to the burger bar at least 3 times on my trip
I'll only eat their vegetarian burger and it's freaking delicious!! Expensive for a burger with no meat on it but the size and flavour made it worth it. Slow at getting made but there were a lot of other people waiting too.
A decent burger joint near the bustling corner crossing of Flinders St and Elizabeth St. With it’s retro styling it blends well with Walker’s Doughnuts next door. I ordered the Rocket Classic ($9.00) with Regular Fries ($4.00) and took it back to the office to eat as they only had outside bench seating and it was freezing. My order didn’t take long to serve up.
What great value for money! For $9 got a massive crispy chicken schnitzel burger with a very generous dollop of sauces and salad, and guac too! Classic and satisfying. The cheesy bacon fries were yum, a huge portion and salty. Make sure you let them know if you don't want salt! Friend got the Big bang burger which was even bigger, he loved it. Friendly service as well.
The man burger was massive. Messy to eat but delicious. The patties were juicy and cooked well with a nice crust and texture. Bacon was also nice and crispy charred. Great value burger. Seating is limited and location not great for eating in.

A very enjoyable experience at Rocket Burger! I was met with great customer service, and the food being served promptly after I ordered it. The chicken schnitzel burger is delicious. It's crunchy and tasty chicken in a soft brioche bun with a flavourful bunch of ingrediants making for a great burger experience. The chips were fresh and nicely seasoned and accompianed by my choice of the aioli sauce, which was a good one. The price was $14 for the meal (including a drink), and overall i'm very content with my experience.
I've never even ordered a burger here. That's because the Canadian heavy fries are sooooo good it's all I've ever order! The gravy is so rich, deep and vegemite-y, like nothing I've ever had. Stringy cheese and uber crispy fries. An absolute winner

Really moreish and crunchy fries. Very tasty but i feel like they were a bit too greasy for my liking. The serve was very generous for $4. Honestly I'm not sure if I would get them again despite enjoying them, just because i prefer less greasy chips.
I have reviewed Rocket burgers last year, it's just that I thought that it would've been different this time around.
The not so good: I wouldn't say this is bad but it's certainly a point to belabour. The buns were crap. The buns are your vessel to deliver the deliciousness to thee. And so if it crumbles soon after you bite I'm gonna have to deduct points on that. This is worsened by the fact that you put the lettuce on top of the patty and all the burger juices drips to the bun, again making for a fragile and soggy burger.
Please get better buns! If you do I'll come more often.
Nonetheless Rocket burgers do serve pretty well. I got the livingsocial voucher for $7 and this grants you any burger and a drink. Hospitality and service are good. Just need some better buns!
The fries here were freshly cooked and the best we have had in a long time- golden brown and crispy outside, and soft inside. We ordered the $4 cup which came in a very generous portion and went well with the BBQ sauce we ordered.
The burger (we had the rocket classic) was also delicious, though wasn't too exceptional. The handmoulded patty was a highlight. We are definitely keen to come back to try more burgers, and to have more of those amazing fries!
For that quick burger thats open anytime they are above good. They have that really soft bun like american sliders do. The red hommus is a great chip dip too.
Hard to come by a truly satisfying burger these days but rocket burger really hit the spot. It's not too overpowering with the ingredients, it's decent sized and you get a really generous serving of chips on the side. Really wish there was better seating options but it's a takeaway place so you can't really complain. This is my new favourite burger place in Australia!

Holey mother of gawd! Best burgers ever. As someone who doesnt eat alot of meat, GOOD vegetarian food can be hard to come by. The vege chickpea burger is phenomenal, the onion rings and chips are soo good too. Highly recommend.
OMG. I just had a burger that took me back to my childhood. Our local corner store made classic burgers "with the lot" and nothing has ever tasted as good since. Except for now. The Big Bang Burger is delicious, juicy, and comes with all the inclusions of a classic Lot burger; bun, meat, lettuce, tomato, onion, beetroot, pickles, cheese, bacon, pineapple, fried egg, with mayonnaise, tomato sauce, and mustard. It's a big burger (and great value at only $11), but I finished it all with gusto. Now I have another good excuse to visit Melbourne. 👍🏻
Burgers are well seasoned and salty (which I absolutely love). Chips are beautifully crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Only drawback is that the food is slow to come out (about 10-15 mins) but that's because they cook to order.

If you don't feel like a McDonalds burger because you'll be hungry in an hour then get yourself a burger here. It's only a few dollars more expensive then the chain stores and the quality is worth every cent extra.
I visit this place almost every week. Absolutely amazing burgers, fries, and dipping sauces at a reasonable price. The deliciously juicy 'Rocket Classic' burger is the closest thing to an In-N-Out burger that I've tried in Australia. The staff are incredibly friendly and are always willing to go the extra mile to satisfy their customers.
On a mission to try the best burgers in town. grill'd is definitely up there. But they have unique burger taste of their own. Rocket is definitely a favorite too. Not excellent, but it has that classic burger taste. I'd come back for it.
Absolutely yum! We picked up a cheese burger and a portion of onion rings. Service was quick. The cheese burger was awesome. An explosion of flavours in our mouth. Nice soft bun and the succulent patty. Quite filling ! The onion rings were one of the best we've ever had. Big and really crispy..! Didn't get soggy even though we had it some time later. I love a good burger. Grill'd used to be my go to place but they've got nothing on Rockets! I'm focusing on being healthier, so I allow myself only one "cheat" night a week, as long as i double my exercise. Rockets is worth it. Rockets is worth any amount of exercise! If i'm going to indulge I'm going to make it worth it, and Rockets never disappoint. I usually order the cheeseburger and get mustard added. So yummy! Tasty and juicy, from the bun to the pattie to the perfectly melted cheese. It's one of those foods where you take a bite, and then you make happy little noises and you savour the moment. Both their sweet potato and plain fires are also very yummy - I even converted a friend who doesn't like sweet potato! But for something truly sinful - their onion rings. Big, fat, crispy battered onion rings with deliciously soft onion inside. Dipped in a bit of aioli and it's just perfection.
Rockets is the kind of place where after a while you'll start to get cravings for it. And then you go back and it's just as good as the first time. Consistently delicious, friendly staff and generally quick waiting times (fri/sat nights can be a little busy). There aren't many seats due to their location, but I'm sure once they've established themselves (and i doubt it will take long considering how good they are) they may branch out to a more sit down friendly location.
THE best cheeseburger in Melbourne!!! Patties are always perfect and with just the right ingredients. No frills or weird toppings, just a plain good ol cheeseburger done right. Deeeelish!
Amazing burgers on the menus- juicy patties on a soft brioche type bun. The chips are a bit too arty for my liking, the wait can be a bit long on a cold winters day on Elizabeth St but once you take a bite of the tasty burger it is well worth it

Surprisingly good burger. Had the man burger which had juicy patties and bacon. Lots of pepper too if you enjoy that. Absolute bargin at only $10. Good spot for a greasy value feed whilst waiting for public transport back after a night out.

It had the right amount of fresh ingredients with gourmet condiments and the pattie was delicious!! The chips are also good as!! Like beer battered fries they are very moorish!! My partner had the chicken fillet burger which he scoffed down! We tried a range of sauces - the aioli (10/10), chipotle hummus (7/10) and peri peri (4/10) but there are so many options it's great!! Staff were friendly and only waited 5-10 mins on a Saturday Night.
