I called in here for a beer. The service from the lady was really friendly, and I ordered a milkshake beer which was delicious but $17 a pint! Oops my bad hahaha
So I ended up ordering another craft beer which was really good. This place is accessible from Flinders St, there is a BIG beer garden and the range of craft beers is great.
Definitely worth a visit.
January 2019
I called in here for a beer and it was beer craft heaven. Although I must say it wasn’t cheap. I almost brought a pint of beer for $20 wow! The service was nice and friendly and the range of beers was excellent so I was surprised to see someone in front of me ordering a commercial beer. I had a pale ale called First Bounce was which was from Hawthorn and it was really good. It tasted quite light and refreshing. And this place has a huge beer garden and whilst the address is Fed Square is recommended entering via Flinders St. It’s much easier. Cheers
Came here a few times - and this time I decided to get the Garlic, cheese and chive pizza with a side of sweet potato wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli
.
The pizza smelt so nice and the mozzarella cheese and garlic matched really well and nice.
The sweet potato wedges were really crunchy and fluffy on the inside, and dipping in both the sour cream and sweet chilli is the best!
Came here on a Friday night. The venue is a lot bigger than I was expecting with a great beer garden. Extremely busy, struggled to find a table and was a little bit worried about the quality of food as the burgers were just rolling out but I have to say we were blown away. We both ordered cheese burgers that came with sidewinder chips (so good), the burgers were perfectly cooked, great amount of sauce, really tasty. Fantastic beer list and really friendly staff despite them being run off their feet.
I had a fantastic beer tasting session here on Saturday afternoon with my friends. The IPA selection is great and i got to try different IPA from different Australian breweries. Staffs are helpful. I like how the venue is spread out two storeys and there are plenty of seating options outdoors and indoors.
Nice ambience in this place! Great choice of ciders and beers. The food is not too bad at all, with their burgers being the go to choice. Will be back for the drinks and atmosphere.
Awesome atmosphere and vibe after the Grand Final. The burgers were epic and exactly what we wanted. Beer isn't cheap though! Paying for the premium location I suppose.
Average food, average service. I had the caesar salad and found it bizarre because the egg was served sunny-side up underneath my salad?! My colleague had the red rice salad and she had to return it because the rice was undercooked.
It really does do what it says on the tin. It's a deluxe beer venue. Regardless of whether you need something your familiar with or something to push your beer comfort zone, this place has something for you. With staff that are helpful and courteous you really can't go wrong here.
Great spot for a pre dinner catch up with friends. Extensive and always changing list of beers. And has decent red wine for the non beer drinker. Staff always friendly and generous with samples when you can't decide what to drink!
Spacious place for having a couple drinks inside or outside . Service was good but can’t comment on food or anything since we didn’t have that
Great place for a beer and a burger, get around the cheeseburger or the philly cheese steak. Can't go past Beer Deluxe for great quality and a good price.
Dropped in on Easter Monday before the AFL. Although it was packed, service was fast and the food was really good. Fractionally over priced for the size but we had a Entertainment Voucher which helped with the cost.
Friday after work drinks, sun was out and meet up with some friends for a drink. Standard pub with indoor and outdoor seating. There is a bar inside and outside which is convenient and helps keep the wait down ordering a drink.
They do have food here however I didn’t eat, burgers that I did see looked good.
Casual, friendly and tasty! Great place for an after work drink and delicious nibbles. Love the ranges of wines and beers. Price is reasonable.
Perfect spot for a drink before a show or event in the area. Can get pretty busy on a Friday night but they have a good selection of drinks, a bar outside and inside and a bunch of sets in the courtyard if you want to enjoy the sun.
Came here a few weeks ago on a Monday night. Surprisingly busy! But I guess the location and season made it more popular. We weren't sure whether we had to wait to be seated or find a table - eventually figured we had to seat ourselves and squashed onto a communal table. We ordered the beef ribs, saganaki, the pear walnut salad and some drinks. We were informed there was a 45 minute wait on food. I winced but we'd allowed a lot of time before we had to be somewhere.
Food was small-ish portions but well-cooked and presented. Obviously a bit understaffed on the night - suspect they'd been caught on the hop with an unexpected busy Monday - but they checked in and apologised we were still waiting.
It's a big venue, has a good menu and would be a cool place to spend an afternoon over beers. Planning to give them another shot and hope they're staffed well enough to bump the star rating a bit. I can see it's usually pretty good!
Cute little place! Really enjoyed the food and service here! Bartender was lovely and totally accommodating! Definitely want to come back one night for drinks and to take advantage of the laid back and open out door area
Points for: happy hour, location, huge range of beer
Lots of watering holes around here, but Beer DeLuxe offers indoor, outdoor and atrium seating.
Quite busy on a Friday after work, but manageable.
Live music on a Sat afternoon, and during the summer they also do bbqs in the courtyard.
A very nice spot for a pint or three.
Pretty good place at fed square! Heaps of seats around.. from just casual outdoor to indoor tables. Ambience is friendly and fun. We sat in the Atrium section which is very family friendly. Service was good. Slightly slow but lucky we wont in any rush. Heaps of beer and cocktail options. Need to add mocktail to the menu! Good variety of finger foods from garlic pizza to chips to caramelized nutz.
Ordered kangaroo salad and beer battered chips. The chips are so crispy outside and soft inside, loved it. A light beer from Gippsland for the afternoon is perfect.
This place is very famous for its beers. It sure has a huge collection.
Went here for after work drinks. The place was packed. Plenty of tables and seating options. The menu is short but effective. The portions are great and so is their service.
When you do the science (HELL YEAH, SCIENCE) – beer is actually food. It is a collection of ingredients that you can eat like hops, barley, wheat and grain. Beer is made using a recipe, and The Dear Luncher is firmly of the belief that hearty ales like some of the IPA’s you can find at Beer Deluxe count as a meal. The Dear Luncher is not a massive fan of the layout and location of Beer Deluxe, but the fact that they have obscure beers and a beer menu that is perhaps unrivalled by another other location in the CBD – makes it a worthwhile place to visit. The Dear Luncher has had the pleasure of consuming a few pizzas here as well, and they are adequate.
Great craft beer tap selection and they do paddles! 4 beers and a 5th glass FULL of peanuts. For food i got the pork bao and the japanese cheese dish Saganaki - All delicious. Definitely visiting again the next time i'm in Melb. Service was good.
Good vibe, great location, plenty of space and really nice staff. Literally all they have to do is serve reasonably priced alcoholic beverages and edible food and they're doing well for themselves. Luckily for them (and us) they do both, burgers here are solid and alcohol (at least non-spirits) isn't insanely expensive. Check them out after work sometime!
Great location for an afterwork drink. There are many choices - something for everone's taste. Price is within average range. Great atmosphere and love the live band. Service was good. However we went on the 38 degrees day and it was so hot outside. A little suggestion, perhaps some sprinklers or something to help cool down a little? I know there isn't much that you can do on such a hot Melbourne day but we wanted to stay longer if it wasn't for the heat.
Beer Deluxe: I like it against my better judgement !
From the outside this would seem a run of the mill chain bar. A bar that has not an exciting range of drinks to choose from. Well you know that's not the case here at Beer Deluxe.
I am impressed by the wide range of beers here, even as a non beer drinker, I've had a few of them and they can find you a beer you will enjoy as a non beer enthusiast.
The staff are friendly and they'll get you what you need with a smile and promptly.
The food and the general cliente/ atmosphere? Both vary significantly in quality depending on the day.
Beer DeLuxe is one of those bars I never think of going to but when I'm there I wonder why I don't visit more often. Tucked away at the flinders street side of fed square, next door to ACMI, it's spread out over two levels. I personally recommend the street side beer garden, it's huge, lots of nice seating and easy access to the outdoor bar.
The beer is obviously a strong point for the bar. Featuring dozens of taps pouring local and international craft beers, there should be something for every taste. The bottle beers available are a little overwhelming - so many delicious options! There are also great cocktails (all the classics) done pretty well. The back bar has a nice range of spirits available.
Food is also available, mainly pizza and pub meals but they are all fine for a quick hearty meal with your beers. On certain days throughout the year they also have food trucks come past. All in all its a great pub/bar for after work drinks with large groups. I wouldn't recommend as a date venue but it's great for catchups with mates or a laid back (but nice) drinks with family and friends. Aim to sit outdoors if it's a nice day.
Had a couple of very nice bevies here this afternoon and a couple of items off the menu - the red curry pork sausage rolls and the vego spring rolls. There were 5 sausage rolls in the serve and they were very good; fresh and very tasty. The sauce they were on was great; was all I could do not to lick the plate :-)
Spring rolls also good and a very generous serve - 8 at least. It was both more and better than anticipated so we'll be back. Service was fast and friendly.
One of my favourite places for a drink because of the extensive beer menu! Really a great place for heaps of local craft beers from Amber Ale, Golden Ale and IPA's. Really like the addition of Belgian and Trappist Beer, best quality in my opinion.
Some of my favourites are Stone & Woods Ale which is from NSW Craft Brewery I believe. As well as Orval which tastes of passion fruit and beer and is extremely gassy (will five good head for a long time when poured).
Duvel makes a good mentioned because its such a strong beer. One bottle of this is equivalent to 3 standard shots I believe.
The snacks menu is good alongside the beers.
However the dinner menu is not bad, not great.
Place is amazing during summer when its sunny, go sit outside.
If you're here during White Night in Melbourne, it goes off.
Beer Deluxe is conveniently located, has reasonable prices, isn't too loud, and isn't a pretentious bar. This is my go to place for drinks with friends, as it is such an easy place to get to, and to sit at for a long time. To my knowledge there is not a dress code, the crowd tends to skew towards the after work crowd during weekdays, whereas on weekends it is more varied. Recommended!
Pretty good. Service was quick with ordering as well as receiving our food. We had the salmon ceviche amazing will come back just for that. The serving are great value for money. Expecting 5 Korean spicy wings and got 12. And the sweet potato chips yum and great quantity.
Good burgers! We had the burger lunch special which is great value! I didn't love the chips but thought all in all it was a good lunch. I'd have preferred the meat slightly pinker and the three cheeses were a little disappointing. I thought it would have been a lot cheesier!
Good range of beers too!
Great value tuesday night for $5 a schooners or craft beers and $10 gourmet pizzas. Fantastic value. Tried three of the beer selection and the bbq chicken and bacon pizza and Hawaiian pizza were great. Had to order a second bbq chicken bacon pizza bc was so damn good. Hot and fresh. Quick service and great on a cold rainy tuesday night in Melbourne city.
My go-to place for casual drinks in the city! Conveniently located at fed square (right near flinders street station) is this cute place. There is a large assortment of drinks and stone & wood is on tap (which my partner loves). The share plates are always of a good size and quality, we ordered the chips and chicken strips which were delish and generous portions. Bonus is they often have entertainment, although I can't remember what nights, sorry!
Beer DeLuxe is famous for their ability to combine a meal with the perfect beer within a cosmopolitan environment which retains a laidback ambience. Beer DeLuxe Fed Square offers an ever-changing line-up of international craft beer rotating through the taps, and the fridges are a treasure-chest of beers from all corners of the globe, with over 150 varieties in each venue. An extensive list of Beer Food is on offer and has been created so that you can enjoy your food, without having to put down your beer. Here are some of our favourites form the Beer Food list…
Beer Deluxe is that standard bar that's close to everything, easy to get to and serves what you like.
I've been here a few times looking for a different selection of beers and they do deliver well on that. The beer bible sets things out easily and with such a huge selection we've barely made a dent in the total.
The sliders are tasty and exactly what you're after when making your way through a few of the brews and I will return!
Had the Deluxe Burger and it was one of the greatest burgers I have had. Beer is always great due to the selection of boutique brews. Highly recommended.
Thirty one pubs from all over Melbourne have been nominated in seven categories including Best Pub Food, Best Live Music Pub, Publican of the Year and People’s Choice. Three mystery awards with no nominees will also be presented in categories like the Old School Pub Award and the Legend Award.
Location is easily 5/5. Just at the back of Fed Square it's a central point to meet up for a drink after work. Beer is premium quality. With the quality beer and central location expect to pay for it. Very expensive if you're buying a few rounds.
Good place with great location, right in fed square so perfect to meet with friends for evening beers. The selection of beers on tap is good, although the staff are somewhat aloof. All in all, a decent joint for a drink or two.
Summer has officially landed. And while it hasn’t quite clicked with Melbourne’s weatherman, you can enjoy a taste of summer from 5pm every Wednesday with Beer Deluxe’s Summer Hop Up series. The weekly event sees the delightful mixing of some of Melbourne’s best food trucks and craft brewery pop up bars, alongside Beer Deluxe’s existing expansive beer menu (250 odd beers!), with live music and entertainment. I recently received an invitation to attend the launch of Summer Hop Up and I would like to thank Beer Deluxe and ID Collective for the opportunity to attend.
Very nice atmosphere, massive range of beers to choose from! We have the chefs selection for 35pp. Food was great highly recommend the pork belly, there was spring rolls, pizzas which hit the spot! The only disappoint was the burgers the brioche buns were not the freshest and as we all know the bun makes or breaks the burger!
Came here on Saturday for some drinks and a feed. Nice, laid back atmosphere, friendly staff and a great beer selection! However a let down was the food. Had the "Deluxe Burger" which looked good when it came out, but the beef patties were very disappointing and tasted very bland and dry. But the rest of the burger was nice
Came here for dinner before a Lifehouse concert with a bunch of friends. They had a burger and beer special. Beer was great. Especially since it was so hot. Burger was average.
Bar snacks are really good value. Tasty options and good beer. Great place to meet up pre or post footy. We had the chips and belly pork. Very good.
Nice relaxed atmosphere and great beer!
We have been regular customers since we received a discount voucher from the Melbourne beer festival last year. The location is good, the staff are very helpful when it comes to the beer and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The best thing is how we can sit out in the atrium and enjoy being in a grown-up location whilst the kids enjoy an icecream from the adjoining café.
We have ordered burgers (vegetarian ones) once and they were better than at many places - tasty and well presented.
Was really impressed with this establishment. The food was above par even though it was a bar type setup and very timely. Choice of indoor or outdoor seating and plenty of beers to choose from. We had a few share platters like the chicken strips, wedges and the deluxe pizza of all I would have again. Thanks for the good experience.
Beers here are pricey, but very smooth. The burger meal is great too. It's a nice quiet bar that's close to Flinders Street Station. A great place for having dinner with friends.
Wide open spaces, Good selection of beers and knowledgeable staff who are happy to help first timers make a choice. Beers are on the expensive side, but then again that what you pay for crafty!, so this isn't a place to come if you are after a VB.
As for the food, i only tasted a nibble from a friend. So don't want to comment on it much.
Pretty good - the service you get depends on the time of day and how busy they are. Their chicken burger is probably my favourite chicken burger ever- but they lose a couple of points for making you cut your own pizza into slices (although the pizza is also pretty decent). Pretty good beer choices, overall a good place to meet.
I needed a quick late dinner after visiting the Rising Melbourne. I walked in to take away one pizza. I received a warm welcome by the manager Kyo. He gave us chips and a drink for free with kind words to wish us have a nice Sunday meal. What a great customer service! Of course the pizza was delicious too! I will definitely come back to dine in next time!👍🏻
Delicious shared plates, pork crackling bao great although bun could have been softer. Great pizza base with pumpkin and spinach topping...perhaps add some toasted pine nuts for extra texture. Good beer list and service from very pleasant staff.
Great selection of beers. The Parma was quite good! Fresh salad and we had some tasty nachos too.
Come here for a quick beer.
They welcome walk-ins, and once you find yourself a table, it's a contactless order experience.
They have a great selection of tab beer.
Service is quick.
Fantastic experience at the Hair of the dog event. 8 well considered courses matched with suitable beers from 4 brewers. Special shout out to the front of house staff who were attentive and friendly.
