Review Rmb Cafe Bar - Melbourne

Delicious food and friendly service. The chef was having issues with the poached eggs, so we had a bit of a wait, but staff were super friendly and kept us informed as to what was going on. This is one of our favourite places to have brunch in the city!

For dinner I had spaghetti with meatballs the meatballs were light and fluffy and the pasta was just magnificent I rated a 5/5 #mealforameal

Super lovely staff. Kurt helped me with a replacement when I found the coffee didn't have enough kick and made me not feel like a douche about the situation. And my replacement coffee was absolutely perfect. Made my day.

Shockingly bad food, expensive & average experience! I ordered takeaway lunch today - 1x chicken quesadilla, guacamole & coffee. In short, a couple of key items on the menu you would think a decent Mexican restaurant would excel at! I waited over half an hour for my food and paid $37,- only to walk back to the office to find out they had forgotten my quesadillas! I walk back, got a ‘sorry love’ from the waiter and returned to the office. I opened the takeaway container only to find the most average looking quesadillas sprinkled with cut tomatoes and pieces of canned pineapple on them. Besides now cold, the quesadillas were very soft and flavourless. The guacamole was just as disappointing, with no real flavour or stand out qualities- just mushed avocado with some red onion in it (no seasoning, salt or any flavour). You could tell they have no care factor for sourcing the best ingredients. The only reason I gave this place a 2 rating is because the coffee is good. I won’t be returning here though!!

🍌French Toast🍌 💥RMB Cafe💥 . Two thick and fluffy slices of bread dipped in cinnamon egg wash, bacon and grilled banana, topped with maple syrup. While down for the Grand Prix we had walked past this cafe thats on the corner of Degraves and Flinders lane every day. So on the monday morning after the race we all had brunch after checking out. I went for their French toast whoch sounded pretty nice which it surely was. Degraves has many hidden gems. Also had 2 types of pancakes which were delicious

This is an older style cafe that occupies a prime corner position on bustling Degraves St. It has friendly spruikers outside which I found kind of cute and not at all annoying. I found myself immediately liking the place. It’s small but you don’t feel cramped in the slightest. It’s a little noisy but nice noisy not annoying noisy. It’s old style for sure. Maybe 80s or early 90s but again it all sort of fits together nicely somehow. To complete the picture, they were playing endearingly daggy music on the stereo today. Retro plus. No hip hop on here. I think I heard showtunes at one point. I started with a long black which was quite good, certainly better than I’d anticipated. It was slightly bitter, but certainly rich, dark and substantive. I liked it. I hadn’t planned on eating but I liked the sound of the soup of the day, a minestrone, and quickly changed my mind. Again, against all expectations I found this was an absolutely delicious minestrone. It was a generous serve and very very tasty. It had heaps of flavour and plenty of veggies. The melted parmesan also added to my overall delight. The dish also came with a very generous serve of Turkish bread too. It was a terrific little meal. I think I’d rank it as the best minestrone I’ve since I used to get them from Maria’s in North Melbourne many years ago. This was a lovely fun little stop. I had my doubts about the current 3.9 Zomato rating but the doubts were quickly dispelled. Recommended.

Although this bar is placed in the fantastic location, we did not enjoy the bar. Food was too expensive for the quality they offered. I ordered a salad, where I unfortunatelly found many little bugs on the green leaves. This does not make me feel well, when I have to watch the wild life of insect right in my plate. Location was great, but the bar is maybe better just for sitting, drinking a coffee and enjoying the Melbourne athmosphere 🙂.

Expensive price for mediocre food. I got 2 slices of french toast (inc. banana and bacon) for $17.50. And my friend got Eggs Benedict for $19. Both were mediocre. Filling but due to quantity not quality. The chai was $5 and ok. Very thick and creamy. It's a little hyped I think because of its location. Service was good (ish). Super accomodating when we wanted to move inside away from the smoker on the table next to us. But when paying the waitress kept asking for 80c 4 times even though we told her over and over we only had a $50 and she acted like it was a whole issue.

A great place for a great meal. We've only recently discovered this gem. The staff are easygoing and efficient - going out of their way to sort seating etc. Food is excellent, and very fairly priced. This is our "go-to"whenever in the city for lunch.

RMB cafe one of the many cafes tucked down degraves street.

The cafe itself is fine. I would go there if I wasn’t expecting to the works, or had to have a quick solo brunch in the city. However, for the money spent I would have liked more.

I ordered eggs on toast and only received one slice of sourdough. In my opinion for $10 I would think 2 slices would be given just like many other brunch establishments. The sides were a good portion size.

My friends ordered some toasted sandwiches which came with fries and looked pretty good!

For me I would probably only go back for a coffee and to enjoy Degraves street but I think a lot better can be found in Melbourne for the same prices!

6.5/10

This busy place tucked at the corner of Degraves is definitely worth a visit!

To begin with, the coffee was quality stuff!

The nachos I had was tasty as. The pasta and sandwich with chips were also a hit with my mates, though the chips could have been better seasoned! The pasta was creamy and delicious and my mate’s mouth was watering as it came out.

Degraves is packed with good joints and I think this place has done justice to the quality of food served!

Love coming here for breakfast and coffee every time I work in the city. In a cute Melbourne laneway with lots of people watching opportunities, great customer service and good breakie food.... even a few unique menu items thrown in. And most importantly, the coffee is delicious....

3.5
Needing a caffeine kick before attending a nearby gym for a workout I called past this Degraves Street cafe . The friendly spruikers out front were more than happy to take my take away order from me and hand me my coffee when it was done. They didn’t have muffins as an option which saved me the calories but they did have an absolute giant menu that catered for every possible food scenario (other than muffins). Coffee was nicer than their long standing neighbours and $3.5 for a medium reasonably competitive.

A friend and I got the RMB big breakie, and added in some extras. It was plenty to share between two people and was seasoned superbly ! I would suggest maybe sitting indoors as it was a bit loud outside when we were chatting and catching up. The staff were also incredible and friendly!

Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Meal size was huge for the price, was not what I was expecting. Enjoyed the meal but could not finish it all.
Red Bean
Chose this particular place because the seating appears marginally less cramped. Brought folks visiting from abroad, hoping it’d be a hit. It wasn’t. Everything was mediocre, only highlight was the friendly and warm manager/owner. Extremely surly, grumpy waitress added to the mediocrity. Eggs benny tasted just okay (hollandaise sauce tasted store bought??), chicken focaccia was dry.
TweeVy Ngo
Nice corner store on Degraves with indoor and outdoor seating. The rib eye steak was cooked as requested with a generous amount of mushroom sauce. Their chips and salad were quite average. The chicken and mushroom risotto didn't look too appetizing but it tasted ok. Quite an average place on an average Friday night dinner.

We waited 40 minutes for our food in the middle of a weekday, while everyone else around us received their orders. Two club sandwiches, nothing complex. Eventually we had to leave before it arrived, as we only had an hour for lunch. There was no explanation, just a few vague promises of "It's on the way" at about the 25 minute mark. Not recommended.
The Dear Luncher
Apart from the crap music played way too loud for a hungover patron like The Dear Luncher, this place goes good. The omelette was gigantic. This particular omelette carried ham, cheese, tomato and onion. The Dear Luncher could barely finish it. It quite possibly could have been a four-egg omelette. The coffee was high grade. When you rock up to Degraves it’s almost too much hustle and bustle, almost too much choice. So if you are struggling to make a decision at least you know that The Dear Luncher is of the belief that this place meets acceptable standards.

Tried this place out on a whim, as my usual go to places for coffee were closed at that time of night. For $3 it was a done deal. For the price, I think it’s definitely worth it. Cheap coffee, that doesn’t taste cheap. Love it

We had brunch from the breakfast menu and were more than satisfied. The service was fantastic. The food delicious and the price was just right.
Foods Of Melbourne
Was pleasantly surprised! Went for brekkie and went to the cafe next door and that was terrible. Tables were dirty, everything was extremely expensive, had no vibe so decided to leave and went to this place! The food was delicious and the service was great also. Only criticism was the atmosphere was at amazing but I can be very fussy! Overall - a wonderful experience

I wouldn't say food here is bad. It is not good either. I would say this is your typical place to be for safe choices. I had the fish of the day and I love how crispy the skin of the fish was. However, I think you can get better coffee elsewhere. Overall, it's not a bad place and would recommend it if you would like a typical breakkie or lunch. It is situated in such a popular and lovely street too, so if you're a tourist, I think this may be a good starting point.

First place I had a meal when I first came to Melbourne. Staff were attentive & service was fast. The food & coffee were OK - at the time I thought it was amazing, but the more places I've eaten in Melbourne, the more average it seems.
Nice cosy place for tourists & first timers who want to sit down one of Melbourne's laneways for a meal.
Wandering Ella
Went here for a Sunday brunch and was lucky enough to score seats for 3 seeing that it was so packed! Coffees were great. I got the baked eggs and they were slightly too watery. The flavours were alright though.

RMB cafe. Very good and easy catching name. Like the chicken Caesar salad. Also nice coffee on the famous lane. It is nice to seeing friends and have coffee.

Chai latte is sooo smooth! 🤗
I've tried plenty around Melbourne, but this hits top 5
Owner is also welcoming and funny! Oh .. And they take card 👍🏼
Welcome to DeGraves Street :)

Having savored the food of Hardware Lane, Lonsdale Street, La Trobe Street, Swanston Street and Elizabeth Street I now decided to turn my foodie eye to a new little hidden gem in Melbourne for foodies - DeGraves Street.

At a glance it has a good variety of food, burgers, sandwiches, pizza and pasta, cafes and something for the sweet tooth as well in the form of cupcakes, chocolates and Belgian Waffles.

RMB Cafe is on the corner of DeGraves Street and is a cozy little place to have a morning coffee or a bite to eat. I was pretty darn hungry so I chose the Monster Sandwich and as you can see from the pics it was a monster indeed. Tasty and very filling with all the trimmings, bacon, eggs, cheese, hash brown, Spanish onions. Washed it down with a nice hot chocolate. Definitely worth a look up if you're in the neighborhood as they do great food. :) Also very friendly service, very nice people indeed. :)

We arrived on a Sunday morning and got a seat outside. We had a lunch appointment at 11 therefore only had half an hour, but we wanted to get some coffees. After we had sat down, we ordered and the waiter said that's it? We said yes as we have lunch in half hour, he then went off and came back to inform us we can't just sit and have coffees, we had to order food. He was very rude. He didn't offer us take away coffee basically just turned his back on us. Doesn't matter how good your coffee or food is, service was bad and we left very angry and would never recommend this place to anyone.

This cafe was okay. I really struggled to find something off the menu that did not contain eggs. I resorted to ordering toast with numerous sides. However, the staff were very friendly and accomodating.

Not much to say. Not horrible but nothing special at all.
Pete
Slow service, had to yell across the cafe to get service, even though the cafe was empty. Because it was empty, the chef turned up the music, making it too loud to even talk at a normal volume.
They had the door open and no heating on indoors - too cold to even take off our jackets!! Close the door or crack the heating for gods sake!

They brought out the wrong drinks, we ordered vanilla milkshakes and got chocolate milkshakes.
The food was substandard and overpriced. Both of us could only eat half of the food on the plate really.
And finally we couldn't split the bill on 2 cards!
Worst cafe experience in 5 1/2 years in Melbourne!
MelbFoodHunter
Degraves Lane impresses with a wide variety of cafes and is known for its casual vibe and lots of tourists. On a sunny day you will be pressed to find a good seat outdoor but some of the cafes such as RMB offer cozy indoor areas. The coffee at RMB is always smooth and easy to drink. However, if you are a real coffee affecionado like us, then you might want to walk a bit further down Flinders Lane and try Dukes for one of the best coffees in Melbourne. Seb

Great food, I recommend the carbonara, the bacon eggs Benedict and the burger. Really service, got my meal 5 minutes literally after I ordered it.

Wow, so delicious! And great coffee. Best breakfast in Melbourne so far for our holidays. Try the monster sandwich. They do a good pasta dish too and tiramisu.
Svetlana Spencer
Pasta was excellent! I never tasted better tiramisu in my life! My husband ordered second coffee bcz first one was so good! Will definitely advice to anyone!

I try to avoid leaving reviews of places when they are not based on the food. However, they offer a booking option but would not allow me to book a table as the restaurant gets busy on the day I want to visit. Well obviously, if it wasn't busy I wouldn't need to book a table would I? Entirely useless option and has now left me with an opinion of a restaurant that offers poor customer service and disinterested in being helpful or trying to get customers into their restaurant. Will not be bothering to try here, particularly with so many other great restaurants nearby who were happy to accommodate our booking.

So as you enter the Deagraves street, you are dazzled by all the nice little, well lit, busy cafes. If you do make it past all of them, u reach the last cafe - RMB. Went after the Moomba festival, tired and were looking for some comfort food. And we did find it. Had Chicken focaccia and Pumpkin soup. The focaccia had Ava Ocado dip, which was light addition to the whole thing. The soup was served with Turkish bread, which made the soup complete as a meal. Highly recommended. Good food, nice staff , happy environment!!

We looked through all the menu options at DeGrave and decided on this one. Coffee was great! We ordered the toasted ham cheese and tomato and after much deliberation i ordered the monster breakfast sandwich $12.90 ( choice was between big breakfast $20.90, french toast w bacon and banana $17.90 and monster sandwich). 2 minutes after we.placed the order two tables away saw this amazingly giant plate of food was placed in front of the girl w a giant glistening sausage. Turned out that was the big breakfast and it looked amazing. Asked if it was too late to change order and was told they had started making the sandwich so yes. Anyway food envy over, i was more than happy w my choice (picture attached) which was huge and very filling and most likely couldnt have finished the big breakfast anyway. Also want to be able to eat something delicious for lunch as we're leaving Melbourne tomorrow so time is running out. Service wasnt the best. It took abt 5 minutes of trying to get our waiter's attention for some water at table while he resolutely refused to look at the tables and was instead looking at people to the left and right but not center where the tables were...but yeah food is good! Also if hungry go w big breakfast. Looked sooo good!

Friendly service and a cosy cafe. Mainsteam music and a likely ambience. Ordered the oven baked chicken. Chicken breast wasn't exactly stuffed with sundries tomato. Sauce was flavoursome though.
Bbq steak burger was okay. Crispy chips well seasoned.
EpiCurious
An ok ish paella , with a nice seafood selection but it was missing the crispy crunch deliciousness I was hoping for at the bottom of the pan!

Breakfast here was good but some small attention to detail would make it better.
We both had eggs on toast with bacon and avocado - presentation was pretty boring but tasted good.
My friend asked for butter but it never came and the coffee wasn't very hot.

Visited for a late dinner on Friday night and was thoroughly impressed. Love the outside seating in Degraves Street.
I ordered the pescatore with pappardelle which I can honestly say was the tastiest, freshest pasta I have had. Scallops were cooked perfectly, calamari was a little tough but still good - really star here was the fresh garlic and tomato sauce. The friends I was with had the chicken Parma and steak, both of which I was told were very enjoyable as well. Great location and very friendly staff, will be returning.

DO: The eggs Benny with bacon. Good serving size and always hits the spot.

DON'T: Forget to order a side of sausage, hash and extra bacon.

TIP: Sit outside under the warm heaters. Remember to bring the sunnies and look cool ... definitely a great place to people watch and be seen.

RMB Cafe is located on Degraves street which is basically a five minute walk from Flinders Street Station making it extremely easy to get to using public transport. I've been there twice now and both times I've went have been great experiences. The staff working at RMB are all so lively and friendly which is one of the main reasons why I love coming to eat there, they are helpful and also regularly check up on you to see if you're enjoying the food or if you need anything else. The other main reason I love the place is obviously because of the food. The first time I went I had the Eggs Benedict (with spinach) and my friend had the Middle Eastern Breakfast and both were absolutely delicious! The second time coming back I was going to try something new as their menu has a lot of different yummy choices however I just went the usual. We also had their Ice Chocolates both times, and it's definitely one of my favourite places to go for one as it's not too sweet or bland. My friend and I definitely will be coming back many more times!

Ordered the garlic bread and Chicken Focaccia. The order took quite a while to come but we got there in the end. Great food, massive serving side for me. I loved it! Would visit again.

I love the atmosphere of DeGraves street. Great French Toast with banana and bacon. My wife really enjoyed the Mediterranean breakfast too.
Lisa Wingard
Decent cooked food which I didn't have to wait too long for, however I did order pasta. Waitresses OVER CHARGED ME AND RIPPED ME OFF. The price you pay for the food I expected a lot more on my plate. Average price for three people was $90

I had to edit this because I was looking at my receipt and noticed that the waitresses who charged my meal either OVER charged me by five dollars OR she had given herself a tip without my knowledge. I did notice at the time when she was near the eftpos machine that an option appeared on the screen and she selected something. So I'm lead to believe she willingly without my permission or asking me gave herself a five dollar tip.
You do the math: I ordered pasta: 17.50 and a drink 8.90mum ordered chicken 21.90 and a drink 8.90
Brother ordered chicken too 18.90 and a drink 8
The total on my receipt shows 88.30 however if you add that yourself it's meant to be 84.10
I'm not impressed about this and I am VERY tempted to take this matter serious.

Had a big breaky at the RMB cafe bar. The food is nice and the quality is okay . The place was crowded and hardly to get a seat. The customer service was nice and the food was served in fast paced. The waiter forgot to tell our order but it was fine (they fixed it straight away). Would love to come back with friends in the future.

Placed at the start of Degraves street and having indoor and outdoor tables adjacent to other food outlets, the service is attentive to settle customers and provide a menu. On a rainy winter day the $9 soup was value and was cauliflower and potato, containing herbs and garnished nicely. Served with bread as was my vegetarian focaccia. Vegetables included capsicum, eggplant, pesto and a serving of chips that were lightly herbed and well cooked. Coffee very good and smooth rounded out a pleasant lunch and ambience.
Ta.be.tabi
Lunchtime on a Sunday work day meant a lot of cafes I wanted to visit were closed, so I didn’t stray too far. Exiting through the back-way lead me to the end part of Degraves St where I decided to eat at RMB Cafe Bar after perusing their outside menu and seeing the pork and fennel sausage in their RMB Big Brekky. The cafe was very lively with diners leaving and more coming in. I sat myself down, unsure if I was supposed to wait to be seated, but the staff was busy clearing the table anyway.
SJ87
Left dissapointed with our waitress & the food. Compared to the options on Degraves Street this place sadly missed the mark on our visit there. Food was dry & coffee was mixed up but maybe we just got them on a bad day as every time walking past they were booming!
Wayne And Cassandra
With so many places to get coffee from on Degraves, we decided to try this place out. The service was pretty average as it seemed they were very busy trying to get more people walking past to dine with them instead of the many other choices on Degraves.
The coffee was alright, a little bitter but other then that it was drinkable. The takeaway cups have no insignia of the shop and are generic white cups.
Kimi Pangilinan
Stumbled into this quaint little Laneway resto during White Night. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating that particular night. A friend and I had the steak together and it was pretty decent. The whole vibrant atmosphere was plus points as well.
කෑම ලෑස්තියි (Food Is Ready)
Came here before heading to the comedy. Porterhouse steak was average, expected more flavour. They've done a nice mushroom sauce which went well with the chips. Nice ambience both inside and outside and staff was friendly

Worth it for the experience of a meal in Degraves Street if you're visiting Melbourne for the first time, but the food is by no means above average. We had some unmemorable breakfast dishes which were fine for our hungover Sunday morning, but if you're wanting to experience the pinnacle of Melbourne's amazing cafe culture, go elsewhere. Will give credit where credit is due, however, and say the staff were very friendly and attentive.

Went in for a quick dessert because I was craving something sweet after a meal. The restaurant mainly had outdoor seating and the staff were friendly. I ordered the mixed berry cheesecake, although I enjoyed it I wish the portion was slightly larger for it left me craving more...

Not bad. Ordered a kangaroo steak, med rare. Only bcos Ive never tried kangaroo steak before.Meat certainly was med rare. Nice and pink. But boy was was it TOUGH. Like, I had to quarter the bite size, in order for my jaws to process it properly! Not sure whether its suppsoed to be like this...Jus was nice though!

After my experience at this establishment this evening it is little wonder that this cafe was mostly empty while adjacent restaurant/cafés were packed.

I attended alone and was promptly and politely provided a table. After sitting down for about 5-10 minutes without having been offered water or asked if I wanted any drinks, two separate couples entered and were shown to seats. One of these couples were seated immediately adjacent to me and the other at the far end. A short time later the couple next to me were attended to as were the other couple immediately after, however, I was completely ignored. I waited a few minutes longer to see if I would receive any service but did not, so at that stage I decided to leave - something that was noticed by a couple who were only 2 tables away from me and that had been their prior to my arrival - but clearly wasn't noticed by the staff.

I would suggest avoiding this place as you will get better service, and most likely better food, from KFC, Maccas, or Hungry Jack's.

I certainly wouldn't ever return to this place!
Luke And Hannah
One of the better options on Degraves Ln, Hannah ordered the egg benny which was buttery and delicious. Luke tried the bolognese which was a bit salty but overall great. The ice mocha we ordered was average though. Staff were nice and attentive.

One of the first cafes I tried in melbournes famous alleyway cafes. Been here quite a lot and the staffs are always friendly. Breakfast was delicious, was a good decent size for us. Beautiful latte art in our flat whites and cappuccinos.
Shuman Paul
Not a place if you are expecting an inexpensive breakfast but the quantity definitely makes up for it. The location and ambiance adds to the charm of the experience. Would highly recommend sharing a breakfast dish if you are an average sized person with decent appetite which will leave you to try their desserts as well.
Loulou
Service was quick and friendly, although seating is crowded and food was messed up twice. Issues were quickly resolved but overall the food was average.
PLoy Nattamon A
Expensive food compares to its quality, quantity, and taste. It's mostly only a tourist trap. I had corn&zucchini fritters which tasted awful.
Trisha
Have been here a couple of times. Just really your average mixed italian cafe. Very casual and can't really complain. Food is decent and so is the staff.
Sarah O
Visited on a Sunday evening with family from Sydney.

Great prices, less than $60 for three main meals. Serving portions quite big.

Our two pasta dishes had the pasta just cooked, would have tasted better if they got the pasta just right.

The chicken shnitzel was good!

Forget part of our order!

Overall, bit of a tourist trap on degraves, not a place I would suggest to foodies.

Convenient location so close to fed square which was our destination.

Did the job on the night as somewhere to stop in and eat, rather than for an experience.

While I was in the city the other day I decided to get some afternoon tea. It was late afternoon and I had 3:30itis!!. I was walking along Degraves when I saw a nice little eatery proudly boasting of nutella donuts! Well I had never tried nutella donuts before and I was very excited to try them. I approached RMB cafe and there was a very friendly server greeting people and seated me promptly. The place had an amazing smell and if it was dinner time I would of def tried one of their pastas. As time was short I ordered a weak latte and a nutella donut. The waitress asked if I wanted it heated and the thought of warm oozy nutella was too good to resist!
Amy
The worst choice we made in Melbourne!

The minute we sat down inside the restaurant we had a bad feeling. It was stuffy and smelt oily indoor, but as it was about to rain, we stayed seated.

Me and my partner ordered the big breakfast and the corn fritter-- worst food we had in Melbourne!

The food was Extremely oily! You could see the oil dripping down the bacons! They had smeared some kind of 'olive puree' on the toast for the corn fritters and that made the meal smelt like the drains!

Worst food in Melbourne! Don't go there people!!
Gastrobitch
When you're overwhelmed by choice for delicious brunch food in iconic Flinders Lane, having the words "Nutella donuts" on a window sign is a sure fire way to get my attention. Well played RMB. Amazingly, the Nutella donut wasn't the best part of my breakfast. Can't fault the coffee (like it's even possible to get bad coffee in the Melbourne CBD), perfect blend, strong but not bitter. The breakfasts were top notch and made me severely regret wearing tight pants. All the important breakfast (or lunch) staples were there. Probably the best French toast I can recall in its crispy bacon, glazed banana and maple syrup glory. Flawless eggs Benedict too, they're no mugs when it comes to poaching eggs. Plenty of artisanal and healthy menu options too. Not that I care about healthy.
CoolBeans
Took a visiting friend and it was lovely. The staff was friendly and attentive. The pasta dishes were delicious. The potion sizes were good and the atmosphere was beautiful. Will go back.
Sally Phillips
This was a quick brunch stop for me and I chose it mainly due to its location down one of the alleyways near Flinders St station in Melbourne CBD and also because of the variety on the menu. While the food and coffee was average, it was what we expected as its not overly expensive. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff.

It's a shame to have to be so negative but my experience at this place this morning was more than disappointing. Our table placed our order and then watched the people around us and people coming for takeaway coffee recieve their orders ahead of the four of us... for 45 minutes. We requested the items become takeaway after 30 minutes (and the appearance of only two coffees) as we needed to head off, however the waiter was unable to listen, unable to help or to accomodate our needs after waiting for such a large period of time.

There were no apologies from the staff, in fact there was a remark from the barista telling our waiter to "have fun with that one" when we tried to pay our bill.

What happened to our takeaway food in the end you ask? We had to bin it as we didn't get a chance to eat it, so really can only comment on the disheartening and unaccomodating service we recieved.

Take a risk if you'd like to try them out, I only hope that the staff can see past their egos and perhaps become a little better with their customer service to make your experience more enjoyable - after all, that's why they get paid.

Pretty good food for the price. People queue up every weekend to get a seat which is a good sign. Their eggs benedict is quite good, really nice creamy sauce and very very filling. My companion tried the moroccan eggs and was all praises as well. Good friendly service and nice atmosphere. Worth checking out.

just waited 50minutes for 2 eggs on toast, terrible service asked several times about our order and just the usual response will be out soon, wouldn't recommend, coffee was good though

Love the food!!! This is my go-to place whenever I'm just looking for good food and don't want to travel far. Great service, and foods pretty affordable! Been here so many times

I always get great food here. The service is very quick and the coffee is great too! 5 stars consistently every time. The Nachos are amazing and a generous size!

The worst breakfast ever. Overlooked sourdough - rubbery haloumi - mushy "corn fritters" - expensive. Had to ask 3 times for a condiment!! Arrogant staff. Marking this so I never return!
Very average coffee , breakfast order was wrong , service was gruff and off putting
Had the zucchini and corn fritters , tasted like dough, was soggy and unappealing

Wouldn't recommend

Wouldn't bother with this place. Staff are arrogant and rude. No surprise this place has so many empty seats compared to everywhere else on Degraves St.

Quality food comes with a price but it is not at all disappointing. Very lovely made egg benedict. Creamy and delicious spaghetti. Ideal place for a lazy meal when you are tired of walking around the city.

Apparently bad service is due to it being a busy day according to the manager on this particular day. We sit at a table which is cleaned 5 minutes later. We have our order taken shortly after however, 15 minutes pass and the same waiter comes and asks if we've ordered already...yes, you took the order. Turns out our order was put on a different table, so now we need to wait longer. (By the way, no apologies) People that had sat and ordered after us were getting drink and food before us. Finally, we get to eat! Hmmm my toast is not toasted... (insert confused face) do I say something and risk waiting even longer for a piece of actual toast? Dilemma... I 86 the 'bread' and try to eat the rest but it's just not the same. After I half eat the food, I ask to see the manager. He comes and stands over me and asks me what the problem is. I give him my feed back and he does not apologise at all and ends up blaming the bad service and bad food on how busy it is. He offers to give us our drinks for free...I hate that! 'We'll give you the drinks for free' ?... how about 'I apologise, I'll take the drinks off your bill before you settle it. ' would have been nicer! Then he changes his mind and says 'I'll give you the orange juice for free' I reply by saying that he mentioned both the drinks a minute ago and when caught out, he huffs and says 'fine' and walked away to grab the bill. I go up to pay and he slaps the bill in front of me and points to the paypass machine. No sorry, no thank you, no professionalism in the slightest! What a horrible start to the day!

Came here for lunch had a Parma.
Good service, terrible food. Maybe breakfast food might be better.
Coffee just as bland as the Parma.
Steer clear of this one

Never think that I would creat a account to just say something bad about a cafe, came here today due to a not bad experience last time, but was totally disappointed by how they can ruin such a simple dish like egg Benedict, poached eggs were way over cooked, (or I can call it hard boiled egg without shell) so I called the waiter immediately due to the dish was not what I expected and thinking it might be an accident, coz even a kid should know a poached egg should have runny egg yolks, but the waiter seems didn't get me and ask what's wrong with egg, after I showed him the poached egg, another waitress came over and ask what happened, then I showed her the egg, she still didn't get why I wasn't satisfied with the egg, so I told her that a poached egg is not supposed to be cooked through, then she agree to change it for me and my friend's dish( her dish contains two totally cooked poach eggs as well). After we got our changed dish, we were informed by the waitress that we should tell them next time if we want the egg to be runny!!!!!! How ridiculous!!!!!!!!! So I emphasised that a poached egg should b runny, it's not me being picky! Then she answer yea, we cook it a bit like medium, so.. Hehe, then she left....! Don't worry RMB, to reduce some of ur work, I won't come back anymore!!!! It just ruined my happy mood right after that. Also, the hollandaise sauce was bland and tasteless. I won't tell you don't go there, but I definitely think they should change the staff!!! Shame on them!!!

A cafe worth visiting. I met some friends here with my mum and the waitresses were quick to move the tables around to accommodate us- service was good, a bit hard to understand the waitresses and at some points i dont think they correctly interpreted what i was saying. Food- ABSOUTELY DELICIOUS and an amazing iced coffee! The food came out quickly and was thoroughly enjoyed by most at our table....i would definitely come back again with friends! One of my friends got banana bread that wasnt warm and with no butter and the outdoor heaters werent exactly warm- but other than that, food was delivered quickly and everything was excellent, yummo! 7.9/10!

Yummy breakfast! Vanilla pancakes with ice cream & blueberries delicious! Coffee was great too! Will be coming back soon!

6/10. The breakfast food here is good and the service is fast and efficient. My friend and I felt as though we were being rushed in and out though and the outside seating is way to close for comfort. We were practically touching elbows with the people next to us.

No alcohol served and the asian male waiter is rude!. Quality of service is poor and let me mention the misleading devious fact of "False Advertising is in breach", Now having alcohol in their menus where that cannot serve or to not have a Liquor licence is what you would call Bait advertising. So It would be wise to think twice if you are planning on have a alcoholic drink and meal. Hardware lane has better quality service.

Good loction but bad brunch and bad coffee.
