Lockdown 2.0. I missed eating Korean Fried Chicken so I ordered last night from DoorDash.
I got 12 pieces of Gami Wings with Spicy coated and Soy garlic on the side. They also gave me a side of Asian slaw! Everything was super delicious 👏🏻😍
Loved eating again Gami Chicken. 🤩
Delicious tteokboki and fried chicken!! An egg with the tteokboki will make it better.
I've always been a fan of gami chicken and I've been alittle disappointed that they removed the volcano sauce out of their menu.
We got boneless chicken, chicken wings and a potato heaven. The chicken was succulent and the spicy sauce was brilliant. Boneless chicken was much easier to dig into than the wings in this case.
A special mention to the potato heaven as it was one of the ksot delicious and unhealthy dishes I've tried. Wedges dipped in mashed potato/cheese base and topped with sour cream.
Close to a perfect korean fried chicken experience here!
Their Korean fried chicken and soy chicken are juicy and tasty. They serve unlimited coleslaw and crackers.
Friendly staff and perfect ambiance.
sweet chili or soy garlic?

📝: Up for some Korean fried chicken and beer tonight? Head to Gami for some warm comfort Korean food in this cold rainy night.
❤️: Customize your chicken sauce with five different flavors of chicken to choose from. Loved the Sweet Chili sauce and the Sou Garlic. Definitely a must when you’re craving for some KFC to share with your friends.
Absolutely love the fried chicken here! I’ve only been to Gami for dinner but this time we decided tried the lunch specials which were a really good deal! The Chicken katsu was a really generous size and the chips were super crispy and fluffy too. However I still prefer their original fried whole chicken because I like my fried chicken with bones!
Best korean fried chicken in the city! I came here for lunch and ordered the chicken, chips and kimchi pancakes. My friends and I were hoping to sit inside, but it was completely full, so settled for takeaway. This will become a regular for me, tasty chicken, perfectly cooked chips, and incredibly delicious pancake. Hope to get a seat inside next time!
Great and yummy chicken. Tried with chili sauce and honey sauce, chicken peices were well cooked and crispy. Went well with beer.
Near to public transport and easy to access.
The service was quick and friendly. The chicken was amazing and flavourful. We ordered the boneless chicken, half soy garlic and half sweet chilli. Would definitely recommend!
We have been coming here whenever we feel like to have for fried chicken Gallore 😍😍👍🏽👍🏽 . Fried chicken and beers are such a good combination. The seafood soup is pretty spicy which I love. The ambient is good , great place for a quick cheap catch up before you go for cocktail drinks afterwards . Service is pretty standard, they jst need to be bit efficient in clearing up the table.
Went there for lunch today, was super busy. Ordered the soy garlic and spicy chicken to share. The chicken was a bit dry inside, but the flavour was good. Came with side salad, pickled radish and a bowl of Korean shrimp chips.
I've been loving KFC ( Korean fried chicken), I look like one. The chicken here and in most Gami outlets are mostly consistent. I never had an issue with uncooked parts yet. I like the servings, as most of you know, they usually just have 4 different flavours (unlike other rival KFC joints), original, sweet and spicy, soy and extremely spicy ( well for me it is -__-). They have calamansi soju! I love them cuz their our local limes back in my country. Or course if you like Hite, they have it too. Non alcoholic beverages available-Duh. The cheesy corn is okay, the the korean pancakes are good. I didnt quite like the chips but my partner did. Teok bokki was ok. No photos, too hungry to take photos.
Of course fried chicken cant go wrong and so says it all. It is a good place to curb your chicken cravings of course with a beer. I quite like the kimchi pancake and pickled radish that they serve. The prices are decent but it is quite hard to find a place during peak hours of lunch and dinner. Always book ahead if you are a group.
Got this delivered to our Air BnB after arriving from Melbourne. Ordered the boneless chicken (spicy) and a side of fries. Their fries were awesome even though our Uber delivery was delayed (bet they’re 100x better fresh!) and that chicken...! Definitely spicy, kicked that heat up didn’t it? Almost a little delayed, you have that first crunchy, juicy bite of fries chicken, covered in a sticky spicy sauce, savour that flavour, then a few moment later feel that heat build up! In Melbourne for a week, will surely be visiting in store to affirm the 5 stars I give this
Chicken is good, a bit on the dry side if I have to be nitpicky. The basic chips are honestly a hidden gem, super crispy and fluffy on the inside, a definite must try.
Ate here to celebrate my friend’s graduation, and food was amazingly delicious! Boneless chicken with sweet chilli sauce and soy garlic, corn cheese, potato heaven. Even the original fried chicken was great, too!
Been here at least 5 times! Always consistently great Korean fried chicken! Get boneless for extra juicy chicken. Soy garlic is sooo amazing. Their corn and cheese has gotten better with time!
I would probably give the dumplings a miss and the kimchi pancake is not bad.
Always good with friends. Make sure to book cause they get very busy!
This is one of the few halal Korean places in Melbourne and it was a great find! I always get the fried chicken with different sauces every time I visit and never have I had a bad experience with it. The sauce selection is varied and the spicy sauces are in fact very spicy and delicious! The potato based dishes are also very tasty. The only concern is that the food was a little pricey as the basic 1 chicken meal can set your wallet back to around $34!
Dined here for a group lunch on a weekday. Restaurant was not too busy and able to accommodate us when we called ahead. Two boneless chickens - soy garlic and sweet chilli flavour - were very crispy and well coated with the sauce. You have the option to get the sauce on the side if you like.
Tteok bok ki was quite light on rice cake and mostly sauce. Kimchi pancake was good and a large servings with about 10 wedges. Chips are thick cut and beer battered, however, for $6.50 they are quite expensive.
Felt like I was back in South Korea! The chicken was delicious. Went in a group of 4 and we demolished the chicken. The seafood pancake was pretty good too. Nothing better than beer and chicken 👌🏼
I've never been a huge fan of fried Chicken but I've had it lately as 'Cheat Meal' Gami chicken wings are a great snack option, nice and crispy and tender inside. Addition of a chilli sauce.
The best fried chicken ever. The pungency of the spicy sauce was perfect. Definitely comeback and can’t wait to try their potato heaven. 😍😍😍😍😍
Who doesn’t know Gami? Who doesn’t like fried chicken? I just love the original flavour with rice. I could eat gami every week if I could :) sometimes I ll do take away or delivery as well to eat at home.
This was recommended by a colleague; ordered sweet and spicy and soy wings. the wings were cooked and chicken was fresh. breading was good as well as the sauces. would be back to try other food as well
My favourite k-chicken place so far. Delicious and generous portions. The interior is fine but a bit cramped, especially at night with more people inside.
Exceptional KFC (Korean Fried Chicken), probably one of the best I've eaten. Not oily like other fried chicken and good value of you go as a group and share.
Delicious Korean fried chicken. Love both original and flavoured one. Tend to have them delivered, who doesn’t like eating fried chicken in their pjs with Netflix on 😂
The original and the best. This must have been at least the 10th visit The Dear Luncher has paid to a Gami establishment. First time at 100 Lonsdale though. It's really not good enough that there's only about four branches in the CBD. There needs to be one on every corner.
Once again the boneless chicken bites, drowned in the delectable honey mustard sauce was selected. This is the absolute go-to selection these days. Sometimes you just CBF dealing with bones. Just insert the chicken into your gob and go.
Cane for a work lunch and staff is super accomdating and friendly. Food is super tasty and done to perfection although it's a little pricey but overall is enjoyable.
As a three, we ordered a whole chicken with spicy flavor and soy garlic flavor. The chicken was quite tender and very juicy, the batter was thin and crunchy, the sauces were very good and the spice level was perfect for training up your spice tolerance 😝 we also got a jug of beer, so everything together was way more than enough, we were all stuffed. Would definitely come back.
A bit on the expensive side comparing to other Korean place in the area but I love the vibe and friendly service. The chicken is also tasty. There wasn’t too saucy like other places. They really pay attention to the quality.
Probably one of the best fried chickens in Melbourne CBD, always consistent with their food and always delicious! Friendly staff, and great service. The sweet chilli sauced chicken and soy are the best!
Gami is definitely my go-to place whenever I crave Korean fried chicken!! We went during lunch and decided to order boneless fried chicken (with honey mustard and sweet chilli as the dipping sauces) and also tried corn cheese as a side dish. The corn was slightly sweet, which complemented well with the melted cheese. However, the sweetness built up after all the cheese was finished. The fried chicken was perfect- crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Honey mustard sauce is my favourite, because it goes so well with original fried chicken, but sweet chilli was better than I imagined it to be and I would definitely choose it again next time!
Although I felt like the portions had decreased slightly, it was still a very filling and satisfying meal. The service was quick and efficient, but you have to specifically ask for water to be served. The restaurant is a bit of a walk from Melbourne Central, but definitely worth it!!
The food was so good here and reasonably priced! The chicken was an amazing and good staff. The boneless chicken pieces were succulent, flavorful and tasty. We love the original as the honey mustard sauce goes perfectly with it. This is the best Korean fried chicken shop. the original chicken is amazing. the outside skin is a crispy and strong flavor. the rice cake is a little bit spicy, which I suggest if you order it. It was an amazing experience!

We have been here many times and still love going back.
It is famous for the Korean fried Chicken. We normally order the honey soy and sweet chilli flavour with their corn cheese. OMG you have to try the corn cheese. It is so delicious. Korean Fried chicken and soju are traditional pairing. They go really well together so don’t forget to have some soju!
not a fan of fried chicken. But i love their fried chicken with soy garlic and sweet chili. I’ve come back here again and again, as if i’m addicted. I also recommend ordering the corn cheese but not their kimchi pancake
Gami is definitely a must-try for korean fried chicken lovers! It is one of the best in Melbourne. The place was really small, though, not ideal for large groups.
Gami Boneless Chicken
Price: $34
Taste: 🌝🌝🌝🌝🌝
The chicken was undoubtably flavourful! The spicy sauce was quite spicy, but definitely leaves you wanting for more. The soy garlic sauce was sweet and full of flavour. The aftertaste garlic taste will stay, though. The fact that they’re boneless makes it easier to eat more!
Potato Heaven
Price: $14
Taste: 🌝🌝🌝🌝
The different layers of potatoes was a carb-loaded heavenly dish! The different potato creation was really a party in my mouth. The wedges were crispy, and the cheese... It was a perfect combination! I wish there were more of the wedges than the mashed potato, as I don’t really like mashed potato that much. But really it was definitely worth the calories!
Gami will always be one of my top-picks, especially when staying in, as I’d prefer it delivered than dining in there, since the place was really small. Definitely a must try!
This place is awesome! I've been here 3 times now. I always order the boneless chicken and two sauces. 750grams! I STRUGGLE to finish my food here (joking... I usually have sides and help out friends with theirs too). I recently went to their Epping restaurant too which is just as good. Service is great, atmosphere is great and plenty of amber fluid choices too! Remember to book ahead to avoid disappointment!
The food was reasonably priced, chicken was great and the staff are all very lovely. The lady noticed I'd finished all my pickled radish very early on (they're so good) and refilled it for me to the brim so I wouldn't run out again. I would definately come back again.
My family's favorite korean chicken. The boneless chicken pieces were succulent, flavorful and tasty. We love the original as the honey mustard sauce goes perfectly with it.
My 3rd visit to Gami’s in past one month. Their Korean fried chicken is amazing as it gets in here. I tried the sweet chili (with bones) flavored chicken. I
But the real star this time was “Kimchi Pancake”. They make it really good and you just cannot miss it when you visit Gami’s.
Also, do not forget to try their corn cheese :)
food 4/5
service 4/5
environment 4/5
this is the best Korean fried chicken shop. the original chicken is amazing. the outside skin is crispy and strong flavor. the rice cake is little bit spicy, which i suggest if you order it, please leave it to the last dish because after you eat it, you cannot taste any other flavor.
Love the Korean Fried Chicken! I would recommend the Honey Soy and Sweet Chilli sauce to go with it. The place was not too crowded when I visited and they have wonderful customer service :) Overall, I enjoyed my visit there
chicken was juicy and tasty. The potato heaven was deliciousssss but I didn t enjoy the cream on top that much. Salad is big portion. Quick service and reasonable price.
The rice cake is soooooo goood. The ramen in it is so good. The chicken is also soooo good I usually get sweet chilli and soy garlic. It gets a bit sickening after a while. The potato heaven is also pretty good but it’s legit just potato and cheese so it does get sickening but it’s still good. If u come here be prepared for the wait because it’s quite busy we had to wait 20 - 30 mins to get a table but it was well worth the wait!
😱Lizzie’s first impression: you really can’t go wrong with the fried chicken here!
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I love how tender and juicy the fried chicken is here - my favourite is the soy garlic and sweet chilli.
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: there’s not as many side dishes as I want but given that the focus and do great fried chicken, I don’t think it is an issue.
🥇Lizzie rates overall: always a great meal and they accommodate well for big groups upstairs.
If you are craving for Korean fried chicken, Gami is what to look out for!
Their fried chicken is super crispy on the outside and very juicy in the inside! The best part about their fried chicken is the non existence of oil which makes it a much healthier option than other fried chickens!
Our favorite flavors are the original and sweet soy garlic. The original flavor has no sauce mixed in with it but the juiciness of the chicken makes up for it! The sweet soy garlic flavor is my favorite as it goes well with the chicken and balances the sweet and saltiness of it!
We also tried their kimchi pancake which is so on point! You can feel the present of the kimchi but not to the point it overpowers the whole pancake!
Overall, Gami is one of my favorite go to for Korean fried chicken and we would go back there during our next cravings! 😆
For someone who tried Korean cuisine for the first time, this place was mind-blowing!!!! ❤️
The iconic spicy chicken wings were worth it!
And Soju- which I am in love with btw. It’s a definite must-try!!
Also, you could try the tteok bok ki and spicy chicken soup.
P.s - the soup is really filling so might need to order one for two.
This little treasure is worth visiting again and again. I liked everything about their food. The taste, the freshness, the flavors, the portions and the pocket friendly prices. I have tried their fried chicken in different flavors all of which are equally amazing, kimchi pancake, potato heaven etc. You can't resist going back to this place once you have tried it. A massive thumbs up from my side.
Best place for hot Korean fried chicken, i hate it so hot I went deaf for a little while. We ordered the chilli fried chicken and another chicken dish with rice. If you are into Korean fried chicken definitely try this place
Had to said this is the place for chicken n beers! The only downside was they dont offer much choice from the menu. The sit are small for a big person like me. Had to squeeze myself.
Overall experience was good. Will be back
K: I forgot how good Gami was and I am so thankful that I came here today with my brother. Offering Korean fried chicken bathed in some of the tastiest sauces around, today we opted for the soy garlic, original and a side of potato heaven.
Staff are attentive and accommodating topping up our prawn crackers without a moment's hesitation much to our delight and are welcoming in demeanor. The chicken? Juicy, succulent and tasty! The soy garlic is a strong flavour that is aromatic and perfectly coated. The original although sometimes dry, complimented the powerful soy garlic flavours. The potato heaven was a wedges and potato mash and cheese lover's dream! Sour cream to top it up all made for a cheesy potato delight.
Definitely a great dining experience that has left us more full than the dams during Melbourne's rainy weather. Great chicken, great service and a great feed!
Food: 4/5
Service: 3.5/5
Ambience: 3/5
Value: 3.5/5
Overall: 4/5
This place never fails to deliver! Have always been my favourite place to eat with friends. Staff are welcoming, around 12 during lunch time it does get busy so there is a waiting time. We ordered flavoured boneless chicken with the 2 popular sauces sweet chilli and soy garlic as well as potato heaven.
We had the sauce on the side rather than having it mixed in because over time the sauce will start to seep into the chicken which makes the outside texture not as crunchy but soggy.
The potato heaven felt a bit much, was hard to eat after a while but taste nice!
Outstanding Korean fried chicken. Do you need to know more? The one downside is that the floor is frequently very slippery and doesn’t appear to be mopped often enough.
Probably one of the juicier and nicest korean fried chicken to have. With so many options of sides to have with this, you can't go wrong. Especially enjoy the wedges and corn cheese but really amazing stuff. Vibes at this store are a bit different from the Kings St store but good for the space
I had the Crispy chicken Burger with Chips. $15.
Burger was great. Chips were battered.
Definitely Come back again. Really want to try the chicken by itself. But you need a couple of people to share it.
Absolutely Love it! All flavours of fried chicken are delicious. I love spicy food so tried “Spicy flavour” fried boneless chicken. It was heavenly. The only issue is if u are getting a parcel and it’s for two ppl - they do not give extra coleslaw and even the pickle 😢 But cannot ignore this place for such a tiny reason. #orderonline #friedchicken #foodporn #australia #melbourne #foodreview #Musttry #Recommended 100%
The place was packed we ordered the 17 chicken wings spicy and it was absolutely excellent perhaps the best I've had yet and totally value for money will be definitely coming back sooner 😊😊
My go to place when craving fried chicken. I always order the half-half whole chicken (garlic and spicy). The soy garlic is the bomb, a little bit sweet with pleasant garlicky fragrance. The spicy one is not too spicy.
I often disappointed with the quality of chicken in Melbourne, even at K**. But this place serves the freshest great quality of chicken.
Delicious and great place to catch up with friends over beer and fried chicken - not elegant at all! But yummy (and messy). Tried the wings with sweet chilli sauce, boneless chicken with sweet chilli sauce and garlic sauce... omg! Tasty!Very fatty and sugary though, so beware. Service is reasonably good and beer from the tap is reasonably priced. Also tried the corn with cheese ... unexpectedly good... and coleslaw salad... and good'ol'potato chips. The Mrs wasn't happy to see me gulp stacks of food but I totally enjoyed this place, won't be doing it too often but it's a good break for meal cheating in winter.
Gami oh gami! The best fried chicken in Melbourne!!
That is all I have to say, aside from the 5 star I’m giving this place. Don’t waste your time on other fried chicken, honestly...
Go for the whole boneless chicken with a pint of beer and you’re in for a treat!! I personally love the half sweet chilli and garlic, but I’ve heard that the spicy one is also great (if you’re into it, which I’m not)...
What more can I say. Chicken and beer. Great concept, done well. And there is more korean food on the menu too. Dumplings were yummy but That Potato !!! Heaven. Best thing ever. Really affordable.
Yummy chicken. Friendly staffs. I’ll definitely visit this place again.
Oh but the background music was too loud. Other than that everything was on spot.
I love Gami Chicken. The fried chicken is super crispy and you can order it with or without bones. We usually get half sweet chili and half spicy. It’s so addictive. In the summer I like to get one of their frozen beers to accompany the food. It’s really refreshing.
Aside from the fried chicken the Korean pancake, rice cakes with chili sauce and the cheesy corn are so delicious. I also like that you get some free snacks when you sit down. The pickle is so zingy. Yum!!!
Best chicken everrrrrrr in the whole world . Man where do I begin to explain my passion for gami. I genuinely do not know. I take everyone here. Maybe clean the toilets more frequently but other than that, amazing
The best of the best fried chicken ever in Melbourne!!! You eat until your stomach hurt! As you can see, this place is always full of people willing to que just to eat over here.
Because the place is quite small and the table is always fully booked, so i should wait 30 to 40 minutes.
As the entree, the staff give me crackers and radish (traditional korean side dish). Then I continue with ordered the whole boneless chicken half original half flavoured (chilly sauce) and tteobokki (korean rice cake, noddle, fish cake and cheese).
The food was really delicious and makes me flabbergasted! One of the must try korean restaurant in Melbourne.
And i also so fortunate to get to try their Package For Six (include: 1 x Whole Chicken + 1 x Boneless Chicken + 2 x Chips + Mandu + Free 6 Wings). i Eat till my stomach drop! Best experience ever! My friends say the chips and mandu was really crispy and good..Not too oily and crunchy.. All the chicken was very flavourful, juicy and yet crispy.. I love it! Its really beyond mu expectation.. my favourite as always the soy garlic chicken (recommended!) and pair it with soju.. yummmy😋
Before you come to restaurant, make sure you make a reservation by calling them otherwise its going to be hard to get a place as it is a busy restaurant especially in weekend (they can't accept reservation on weekend)
They can do delivery or pick up too so everyone still can enjoy good food without being worried.
Thank you for the experience

Some days you eat salad and go to the gym. Some days you eat good tasty fried chicken and refuse to put on pants. It is called balance. Gami is our little dirty secret. Fried chicken that is tender, crispy and so so good. We usually get the original with hot sauce on the side. I remember the first time we ordered the spicy chicken and it was a bit too spicy for us. It was a comical sight because our tongues were burning, sweat was pouring out of our foreheads, but we kept going at the delicious chicken. And when you eat spicy food, your body registers the sensation as pain. This in turn triggers the release of endorphins, otherwise known as “happy” chemicals that give you an instant head-to-toe feeling of pleasure. So good.
Chicken were well marinated and juicy enough for fried chicken. Kimchi pancake was tasty. Average chips. Nice sitting for quick eat. Friendly staff.
Lovely and decently priced Korean Fried Chicken here. I will recommend this place to anyone who wants to try Korean Fried Chicken. Restaurant itself was a little bit too cramped though
Love it! Deliciously juicy boneless (how we order ours) fried chicken washed down with cold beer. Great sauces to smother the crispy chicken with.
Korean fried chicken and ddeokbokki (spicy rice sticks dish) is one of the best meal combos around and when I found a place nearby that has both those dishes on offer, I had to give it a try. The fried chicken was crispy and tender and I really liked the soy garlic sauce. The ddeokbokki came with fish cakes and noodles which just added to the Korean street food vibe and was also thoroughly enjoyable.
Definitely one of my favorite Korean restaurants. Boneless chicken with sweet chilli and soy garlic flavor. The flavor was very rich. Potato Heaven was average. They have friendly staff.
will come back again!
The whole place looks neat n tidy, which makes make me feel so comfortable about it. Ordered spicy chicken with cheese, the chicken is well flavoured and the cheese is melting on top.
Gami kick started the KFC - Korean Fried Chicken craze in Melbourne and there's a reason why they're still here after all these years.
They a slew of other interesting dishes too such as pillowy mash potatoes. The name of the dish escapes me but I just love its texture!
Gami is hands down my favourite fried chicken place, and my favourite Korean restaurant, for that matter, and for good reason. The food is always incredible. It is typically very busy, and it is a tad pricey, but I don't mind paying for such quality. Try it, and it'll be your new favourite restaurant too.

@gamichickenbeer has a new BIG CHICKEN Menu Item and it was absolutely insane!!!! $68 gets you this massive 1.2Kg of Boneless Fried chicken, loaded with shoe string fries, fried rice cake (so good) and cheese sticks 🤯 It is worth checking out for your next KFC feast with friends (it was a LOT of chicken for two people 😹). 🤤 It also comes with the four signature dipping sauces too 🙌🏻 Such an epic feast. Gami is still a top spot for KFC lovers imho ✨🌟
Small and cozy place. Varieties of korean dishes. Loved the potato heaven, a must try. Japchae mandu was yum but too saucy. Original Fried chicken could be better, very dry.
Gami Chicken has some great choices for fried chicken and other fried goodies. Overall experience was great and the food was surprisingly quite tasty. The only draw back was that it was quite pricey and not much options for lunch specials etc. Other than that, I recommend everyone to come here and enjoy some nice, juicy fried chicken!
Great food!!!! Shared the $70 mountain of chicken and sides with two others, splits well. Compares to other Korean chicken I've had, succulent and perfectly cooked.
