Outstanding!
I've visited many of Melbourne's very best restaurants and GG's has become my absolute favourite. The food, service and atmosphere (and seating!) are all perfectly done. If you're a fan of great Italian, French and European food, GG's is a must. There are too many dishes to really pick just one, I'm always buying excessive amounts of food and devouring it all every time I visit, how can you not? From the small tapas dishes to the desserts, you won't be disappointed. To top it off, the staff are a great bunch of very friendly people that are always looking to make your stay even better. I can't fault this place, its flawless. 5/5 Must visit!
I highly recommend this hidden gem which can be found opposite Fitzroy Gardens. A beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere, fantastic service and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back again.
Paul, Maranda and the staff of GG Restaurant you made Natalie’s 18th Birthday a night to remember. She loved her first cocktail, that she’ll never forget. Family dinner was superb and catered for all different tastes, from eye fillet to pizza. A class.
Thanks Giannina and Antony
The service was on que... Well done friendly staff. The meal was of high class very appetising beautifully cooked to perfection. Would recommend to all👍🏼
My mum and I went to GG's for dinner and it was amazing! We had the lamb shoulder and creme brûlée. Great atmosphere and had exceptional service from Elle. Even though the place was super busy, she provided excellent service and was very friendly. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful atmosphere, great food and drinks, professional and friendly
Good service and excellent food!
I think for a restaurant which is pricey, they should have placemats or tablecloths!
Delicious! Lovely service, nice environment amazing food! Thank you. Well done.
Delicious food ( we had the shared Sunday roast special, yum! ) & a few lychee/passion fruit cocktails!! The service was excellent!
Can't wait until we dine at gg again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What an awesome venue and location, not to mention the fantastic food and service. I will definitely be recommending it to my couples wanting a funky central spot. Thank you so much for your hospitality
Sensational food and great staff.
Would highly recommend this as a meal destination.
GG's is exceptional, the service, the atmosphere but most of all the superb food- the smoked eggplant dip with pumpkin bread is divine!!!
I have been a chef for 35 years and GG's is my favourite restaurant in Melbourne. I wish them continued success and I thank all the staff for a remarkable effort. Please support them !!!
A large, group-friendly restaurant focused around wine and classic European inspired fare. Places like this don't usually have tons of vegetarian or vegan options but GG's new menu offered both. I started with an assortment of entrees including watermelon with feta and pine nuts, arancini, a wonderful carrot fritter and delightfully smoky eggplant crostini. The mixed olives (served warm) also kept me coming back for more. My main was a pumpkin tortellini stuffed with spinach and more feta and topped with crunchy fried basil. How could you go wrong with that? I'm not big on standard European desserts but I must admit that I ate every last bite of the ones I tried, even if they wouldn't normally be my top picks. While the chocolate gateaux and pistachio Panna Cotta with sour berry and rose compote were good, the rum raisin truffle was my favourite, and the perfect note to end on.
Had dinner here for the first time tonight. For dessert I had the special: hot chocolate cake. The menu listed four elements: the cake, raspberry, ice cream and hard chocolate. I was looking forward to the hard chocolate to add some texture. When it came I could only identify the first three elements on the plate - I certainly did not detect any crunch or snap from hard chocolate while eating the cake which was completely soft (and yummy). I raised this with the waitress when I paid - she said perhaps there were chocolate sprinkles - I didn't notice any and if there were they had totally melted by the time it was served. Also I had ordered coffee with the dessert - it arrived a good five minutes before the dessert. On the positive side the wait staff were very attentive and keen to please.
My Key 3 Pointers
• Why have horrible MCG food when this is on the way,
• Fantastic for large groups and also has a function area,
• Best rotisserie and if you are lucky enough to have Lamb, don’t go without trying,
Once upon a time, I visited GG restaurant weekly. We had dinner or lunch before the football and two kids later and my last visit was 2 years ago. It was really nice to be back at my old stomping ground, it felt homely and the perfect way to start a great night.
This place is perfect for pre-drinks at the bar, a quick meal before your game or simply a perfect long date night. The food is always consistent, I have never had a bad meal. We do love getting the rotisserie for two which comes with a side of baked potatoes and salad. They also give you some bread and olive oil on the house.
Instead of throwing your money down the drain at the MCG I highly recommend eating here before you go. I much rather some great wine in a glass than plastic glass at the football. They also have some really good desserts on offer. I always select the doughnuts, they go down really well after all that yummy charcoal lamb.
Delicious share plates for a work function. Selected set menu was varied and everything was tasty! Completely unexpected but truly enjoyed it. There was so much food. Vegetarian options looked good too! Nice ambience. I will be back!
I've been a few times for work functions and found that the quality of the food really depended on which package had been chosen.
They generally have starters and then for mains it could be a shared portion of lamb and sides or the standard fish vs steak and shared sides option. The starters are always delicious, especially their soups, but I found my steak ridiculously overcooked once. The lamb is ok, but I was pretty full by the time it came around since our amazing waiter kept bringing all the extra food over to us.
Order their juices, the best fresh apple juice I've ever had.
I've always had a fun experience here.
What a local gem. Came here on a dimmi discount but would not hesitate to come back now that I'm familiar with the place. Unassuming, yet an inviting & wonderful service, ambiance & food. Lamb shoulder rotisserie was sensational, & the best grain salad I've ever had.
Really enjoyed this fine dining experience. We were here to celebrate as a team and dine on food that was a bit fancier than what you get at your regular Fitzroy eatery.
A spectacular array of very interesting and delicious foods. Not one was disappointing in the slightest. First class service and dining atmosphere. It’s on the pricey side but well worth it for a special occasion.
Try to come here on Sundays to their sunday roast.
DELICIOUS
MUST ALSO TRY THEIR SHARE PLATES INCLUDING:
-fried end gnocchi
- watermelon
- crab one
- the lamb ribs
Absolutely amazing!
We had already decided on another restaurant to go to but changed our mind at the last minute so decided to go to GG ...
From the moment we were seated we were treated like family.
We had 3 waiters looking after our table and all were highly trained ,efficient and freindly.
Our drink orders were taken quickly and orders were taken at a convenient time for us.
We ordered the 4 course sharing which was excellent value for $69 pp...
This has blown anything we have ever had in terms of taste and value for money out of the water at any other restaurant we have dined at.
The first platter came out with 5 tasting selections.
Crab beignets...beautiful flavour of crab with coconut ( match made in heaven)
Chicken wings ,nice crispy coating with tender chicken inside together with pickled grape yummmmm ( worked so well)
Watermelon with fetta ( works very well and was intersting to try)
Capcicum soup I think it was ( beautiful flavours and you just wanted more and more)
Marinated olives ( very nice )
These 5 entrees blew us away, attention to detail and excellent flavours...
Next up were 2 medium dishes which were the calamari and pork belly...calamari tender and had a mayonaise of some sort underneath it.
Pork belly was awesome ( perfectly cooked)
Next was the to die for lamb that had been slow cooked for hours with chips and salad ..
By this stage we were more than satisfied with everything we had eaten.
Still to come was dessert...
Strawberry and Basil macaroon yummmm
Passionfruit slice of some sort was good
Panna cotta in a large shot glass that tasted like apple pie...
This finished the night of superbly...
Well done to this restaurant ,the fine staff and the effort put in....
We will be back definitely....👍🏻😀

+4.5
What a comfortable space delivering well designed and flavoured food.
The location alone with a view to some of Melbourne's beautiful gardens.
Rested attentive staff make sure your comfortable.
A set lunch menu option available.
Bread&olive oil offered prior to your meal.
We have had meals here numerous times and know they do special weekend meals.
Thank you for a relaxed lunch and we will return.
Came here for an event. Scallops for entre were pretty yummy - liked the deep fried cauliflower crumbs on top. Mains taste alright - nothing special. Were given some macaroons and truffles for dessert. Staff were professional.
The attention to service here was good and I throughly enjoyed the space
The wine list had some good selections and the food was pretty decent
Superb service, ambience and delightful meals. Had a Porterhouse which was cooked to absolute perfection, which was preceded by some delightfully scrumptious scallops and oysters. I could have devoured half the menu - but I will have to do so on another occasion.
Highly recommended!
As a table of 8, celebrating birthdays, we enjoyed the most delicious food ever, wonderful service and great ambiance. Thank you GG Restaurant for a wonderful evening.
The service is out of this world and the meats are to die for. Great ambiance that is formal but not pretentious. Good
Wine selection as well. Definitely a go to place.
Came across this on zomato after looking for a restaurant near the city. We had a range of their tapas, some pizza as well as the slow cooked lamb. We decided to share this with the table. Everything was delicious!! Highlights were definitely the lamb, the arrancini and fried gnocchi ends! I can't wait to come back and try some other options. My only complaint was getting parking in the area, but that is the councils fault, and nothing to do with the restaurant. Suggest coming here out of the normal dinner times to get a parking spot more easily!!
Took a lovely lady for a date here on the strength of previous reviews. The vibe and ambience of the venue was perfect, nice and relaxed. Staff were excellent in every way. I had the Parma, and my companion chose the eye filet. Both of us were quite well satisfied with our meals. The Parma was perfectly cooked. One minor note.. the fries that came with the Parma were first forgotten, then bought out slightly cold. Not a huge deal as the Parma by itself was worth it and I'm sure this was a once off thing, and the staff were right on top of it. All in all a fantastic venue, will return.
Window seat overlooking Fitzroy Gardens at dusk is a bonus. The restaurant is little upmarket without being pretentious. The lovely waiter: very responsive and attentive with being intrusive. He knew his craft well! The food was superbly consistent on this night. We started with entrees to share: eggplant dip, fancy cabbage & parmesan salad (much better than it sounds!) eggplant dip arancini and calamari. Presentation was excellent & serves were generous. We could't pick our favourite but arancini & calamari drew many compliments. The shot glass size of cauliflower soup was very tasty. For mains: steak perfect medium rare, entree serve pasta dishes were hot, tasty & generous serves and the lamb shoulder off the rotisserie was a little different and met with high approval. Heirloom salad and chips - very nice. The chef selected the dessert for us - a tasting platter that was easy and fun to eat. Wine list did not disappoint and the coffees etc were good. Prices were very reasonable for the quality, service and presentation. We would definitely return and are happy to recommend a visit if you want a dining experience that is a little special, friendly and welcoming in a lovely venue. I would happily give it 5 star rating but I don't go to enough of these 'special occasion' venues to make a comparison.
What a sleek set up. The dark contemporary interiors and atmosphere present like super fine dining with a relaxed feel. Overlooking Fitzroy Gardens it seems to be one of those undiscovered unsung gems that nobody raves about and I can't imagine why. With plenty of delicious crusty bread with zesty balsamic free flowing I knew I was going to love this place (nothing puts me off more than restaurants that charge you for bread). We went as a group of five and my friend and I couldn't quite decide on what to order so decided to share a Margherita (woodfired) and a gnocchi (pasta is all homemade) with a side of fries (I really wouldn't call fries they were rustically cut almost like wedges). Dessert was the standout with perfectly risen doughnuts and some chocolatey delight which was stunningly plated. An impressive looking and tasting place that I will remember the next time I need somewhere to take guests
In brief, this is a wonderful dinner spot with attentive and thoughtful staff. I came here with work colleagues, and we soon realised the menu had too many things on offer so we decided to share some entrees. The arrancini were a little tasteless, but the crab bites were delicious. For my main, I chose the pasta ragu. I'm very fussy with my pasta so it was a strange choice, but I was quite happy although the pasta could have been a little more al dente, which is more of a personal preference I guess. Dessert was fantastic - the cannoli and affogato were a perfect way to end a great night. Fantastic drinks list, too. Will definitely return to try some of the other items I had my eye on!
Pleasantly surprised! Such a great location and the food was good and well priced! Had the zucchini flowers (great) and gnocchi off cuts (too doughy and bland) for starters. Mains was the yoghurt marinated chicken with fries and the roquet salad. Chicken was really delicious and the salad had a generous amount of prosciutto although the pear was non existent. Will come again.
Went here to celebrate my 30th birthday a few months back. The service was exceptional. Food was beautifully presented, delicious and very modern. Atmosphere was warm, inviting and restaurant windows were overlooking the lovely Fitzroy gardens. Staff went out of their way and provided a complimentary dessert to one of my guests as they had unique special dietary requirements. Overall would defiantly return and will recommend to family and friends.
Beautiful decor, Fantastic place to host corporate lunch or dinner experience. Set menu was very well priced and very taste.
Would r recommend to anyone one in the East Melbourne area.
Elegantly styled. Clean and contemporary decor with dark hues.
Superb location overlooking the Fitzroy garden.
Go for the smaller dishes. Food wise, it wasn't extraordinary.
Good for both lunch and dinner.
Love this place. Perfect for bringing guests. I've been here many times but always forget to rate it on zomato! Shared dishes are the way to go in particular roast lamb and veg which always goes down a treat. Selection of wines are extensive, service is great what more can you ask for.
I've been here for a private function in the bar area on a sunny Sunday. Drinks service was good. The food was a 2 course and I had the calamari for entree and the salmon for main both were impressive dishes. The team on the floor wasn't too quick to clean or replace drinks but overall lovely place. Worth a visit.
Came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The food here is certainly amazing in terms of flavour and presentation.
I love the presentation of the fishy plate as it's like a dessert but savoury. All little portion are different seafood, from raw to cooked. Despite the small portion ,it does fill me up. We also ordered the grains salad as side dish and it is delicious too. The dessert - rose creme caramel is another dish that i definitely recommend .
This seemed to be the perfect restaurant for me and my sister to try, given its name is also our initials. From the docket, I learned that gg stands for Grandpa Giuseppe, which is more suited for a traditional trattoria than this stylish European wine bar and restaurant. We visited for an early dinner on a Sunday and, apart from two Asian men enjoying a meal, we were the only customers. We toasted with a glass of Côtes du Rhône (great wine!) as a farewell until the next visit.
It was our second visit back to GG's.
Service was great and our table looked on to the leafy green street of East Melbourne.
The menu really does cater for all - good selection of Pizza, Pasta, Small, Medium and Large plates consisting of vegetarian, fish, meat, poultry etc. They also have A rotisserie each night which changes.
We started with a couple of small plates - Boneless Chicken Ribs with apple gel and pistachios - were succulent and cooked to perfection, the Apple gel worked well with the crunch of the chicken coating. The other small plate was Fried Gnocci ends with spicy tomato auto - also delicious. For mans I had the entree size Marinara which was just the right size for me since I'd had the small plates to start. Husband ordered the Chicken Parma with gruyere cheese and balsamic glaze, with a side salad and hand cut chips - this was outstanding, great piece of chicken breast, well cooked - A+!
We ended our meals on a sweet note - I had the Cannoli filled with Lemon Curd and meringue. We also got the GGs Donuts - delicious!
Came here for a second time, food is still amazing, service was a bit strange (got asked if we wanted desserts 3 times) but still one of the best restaurants in east Melbourne.
Located across the expansive Fitzroy gardens, and underneath the very expensive 150 Clarendon St apartments, GG’s is perfect for the stereotypical East Melbourne ‘set’ of doctors, lawyers, politicians and captains of industry, or junior white collar office workers . But it is actually so much more than that.
GG's has fabulous food, wine and service.
Perfect venue for after work drinks, share plates, or a three course dinner for a special occasion! Cannot fault this East Melbourne gem!
Absolutely delicious meal, right balance of price and value. The lamb on the rotisserie was fantastic, and that grain salad paired beautifully!! Love the fried cauliflower too!!
Went here for a group dinner and loved it. Incredible food, great service and an awesome atmosphere. If you're staying at Pullman on the Park definitely make the short walk up the road to check it out!
Very large menu with a spread of interesting and standard fare - from pizza and steaks to crab beignets and lambs brains. Lovely setting across the road from the Fitzroy Gardens, and fitted out very tastefully with a lot of room between tables. The food is of a good standard, and sharing is encouraged - although this is not always handled well by the staff.
Service is fairly haphazard; on one occasion I've had a probable new staff member that could do with some extra training - taking away a shared dish before it was finished, and inconsistent filling of wine glasses when ordering by the glass. On another occasion with the knowledge that two people are sharing several dishes, they have all landed on the table at exactly the same time, i.e. entrees, mains etc.
That being said I still recommend this place. It is not cheap, but that would not be expected both from the calibre of the meals and the setting within East Melbourne. Unfortunately the service does not always reflect this. Hopefully it improves with time.
Love love love!! Beautiful decor and amazing menu. Portions are small so you should get sides and entrees. The service was also great and accommodating. This restaurant is perfect if your looking for something classy and different :)
Came in hungry and came out happy! The service was excellent, the waitress was very accommodation and helpful. My lamb rotisserie was simply delicious. The spiced creme brûlée with candied kumquat was nice dish to finish the night for me.
Without doubt one of the great dining experiences I have ever had. The menu reads amazing and the food is backed up. Lamb ribs and chicken wings both boneless and the rotisserie lamb was so tasty. Everything we had was amazing as were the staff. 9.5/10
Big fan! Great food and great service! Started with a bunch of starters which were all fantastic, followed by the ragu pasta which was perfect, and then the lamb from the spit which was top notch. Highly recommend!
Top notch express lunch, value for money, perfect service. Will be back for more! Highly recommend their lunch course.. Very tasty and generous portion.
WOW!. You must be insane if you don't like GG.
The food is excellent.
Service - I can't praise their service enough.
The wait staffs pay every attention to our dining experience.
Definitely coming back again.
Many thanks for the great dining experience.
Loved it! Wonderful service, good atmosphere. Wasn't overly crowded (6pm friday) so we could hear ourselves chat. Beautifully presented food. A great evening!
High quality food!. GG's has many items on its menu that are simply amazing combination of flavours, I find myself constantly wanting to come back to enjoy their great food. GG's entree/small menu has a great selection of tapas like plates that you can't go past, Fried gnocchi ends are must!
If you are looking for one of the best steaks in town, GG's has a eye fillet main that will satisfy that craving, not to mention their rotisserie lamb, chicken and pork will please any meat eater.
Service is always good here, staff are friendly and attentive every time.
This place is quality.
Came here recently for my bday and was a little disappointed. The rotisserie meat was a little dry and didn't have heaps of favour. The food all came out at once inc all starters and mains which ruined the whole experience for us to be honest. We all went into food panic mode and ate way too fast and didn't enjoy the conversation. We probably should have asked that the food be staged a little so we could have enjoyed a drink and relax in between dishes but we know this for next time!
Have been here a couple of times and have loved it!! Fantastic service, great wines and fantastic share meals that mean we get to try more dishes! Looking forward to getting back soon!!
Amazing. Great atmosphere, delicious food, the waiters all know exactly whats in the food (allergy wise) and will bring out a small plate of little desserts on your birthday! Thumbs up'
Amazing food and excellent value. GG's is our new favourite restaurant. They set the bar SO high, everything here was perfect such beautiful food, great staff and really nice atmosphere you actually feel like hanging around after dinner for a few drinks. Also very reasonably priced, much better value than all the 'cool' places Like Tonka, Huxtable, supernormal and so on. We'll be back really soon
Saturday night dinner for the family after the footy, in a word,...fabulous! We had attentive, friendly service and great food in a relaxed atmosphere. We selected from across the menu, and enjoyed the lot. We will be back!
Awesome. Went here with my family for my mums 60th Birthday and can not fault the restaurant. We had amazing food, great service and ambience, you're not tucked in like sardines and the menu is very broad. We tried alot of different dishes including entre's and mains and all were terrific. I had the steak and it was one of the best i've had in melbourne and great value. I would highly recommend you check this place out!!
Food was great, staff friendly and attentive. My first time at GG 's and look forward to going again.
Awesome food service and location for food before going to the MCG
I have been to GG a couple of times now with friends and family and we just love it! The staff are friendly and knowledgable, it has a good wine list and the menu is huge! We can never decide what to have so always choose the set menus where we get to taste a selection of dishes per course and the chefs never disappoint. We also dined for my Mum's birthday once and a staff member over heard and popped up with a beautiful happy birthday plate and dessert which completed a perfect evening. The little touches are wonderful!
What an awesome start to Anzac Day at GG. A great wood fire pizza lunch with a cold crisp beer on tap before walking down to the MCG. Perfect location
First time at here for a friend's birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! We had a shared course menu between the 8 of us and suffice to say, every dish was a wonderful palatable experience. The dessert selection for me, was the highlight! Great atmosphere, exceptional food with amazing company makes a perfect evening at GG's.
Had quinoa and lentil salad- one of the best I've had !! Very attentive staff and great atmosphere- can't fault it!
Absolutely delicious meal tonight, from the tastiest nibbles (including delicious crab beignets, king prawn with lemongrass broth, Hervey Bay scallops topped with smoked apple, radish, shiso and toasted caraway seeds and watermelon with feta & candied pine nuts). Then to my healthy, yet incredibly flavoursome snapper fillet on caramelised fennel (my partner also loved his pork belly with pigs ear main) and a side of heirloom tomato & mozzarella salad, finishing with a lovely and seriously tempting dessert selection with (ridiculously good) honey panna cotta with crumbled baklava, mini chocolate brownies, tiny pistachio cakes and white chocolate and coconut macaroons... Sensational dining. So much flavour packed in to every mouthful. We can't wait to go back!
The table next to us was having the most amazing looking Greek style lamb from the rotisserie - must try that one next time.
We certainly expected to pay more for our lovely meals... very reasonable prices. Nice cosy atmosphere too - not too loud.
Wow what an amazing experience!! Food amazing with great variety. 4 course share platter was ample food with taste buds really getting a work over. Pork belly and slow cooked lamb the picks.
Delicious!. Dined here on Sunday with my family (6 of us). The restaurant overlooks the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens and we were lucky to score a window seat.
Keeping it short, the food was amazing, service friendly and helpful. (Make sure you try the Crab Beignets!)
Will definitely be back!
Enjoyed a wonderful night New Year's Eve with amazing food, service and atmosphere. The five course degustation was accompanied with beautiful wine! Amazing location over looking the gardens. Will be back for more!!
What a great experience! Fi.... What a great experience!
First time to GGs with interstate guests and they delivered in every way.
Food great, service considerate, great location.
Will go back for more!
Good night out. Food was great, service took a bit to warm up, but once it did it was great too. Mostly writing this review to highlight that the restaurant is wheelchair friendly, with no steps, good space between tables and a disabled toilet. If you're going in at night the lighting is a bit low - if you struggle in low light it could be a problem, but it's fairly bright during the day, or for an early dinner in summer. Lots of space at the table too, they don't try to crowd too many people in together, and most of the dining chairs are wide with fairly solid arm rests, good for the less able bodied who are not wheelchair bound.
Facciamo italiano. Huge tradition of pizza n' beer on Sunday night and GG's does it with casual finesse and just enough room for dessert.
Superb!. My second visit to GG's and equally as fabulous as my last time. The food is so beautiful, every mouthful full of interesting flavours, staff are friendly and helpful, and a lovely setting. Last night I went with girlfriends and I was so impressed (again) I'm going back tonight with my husband and a work colleague!
One for your Wishlist. Great service, eclectic menu, outstanding food - I highly recommend GG's.
Great find. We were going to a concert and were looking for a good reasonably priced restaurant in the area for an early dinner. We choose GG's based on the great urbanspoon reviews and we were glad we did. The food was great, we had the crab entree and the sardines which were both delicious, and a pizza and the prawn ravioli for main. Pizza was great, pasta was nice too however perhaps a bit fishy for my liking (it was in a bisque). For dessert we had the mini donut and the cannoli, a great finish to a delicious meal. Service was a standout, our waitress was extremely helpful and friendly. I can't wait to try breakfast next time we are in the area.
Great food, atmosphere and staff. Had a great experience at GG's restaurant. We had a set dinner as part of a group booking and the food was outstanding. The staff were friendly, accomodating and knowledgeable and there was a really good atmosphere and vibe. Will certainly be returning.
Great function venue. Attending a friends surprise 30th birthday function at GG and was so impressed by the attention to detail and help in organizing the night. Each of the four courses was amazing, and I couldn't believe how helpful and accommodating the staff were towards dietary requirements. The food just kept coming and got better and better and was Topped off by a beautiful chocolate birthday cake. Nothing was too much trouble, and considering we were a big group, the timing off the food was spot on. Can't wait to go back for more.
This place is amazing! Luca was so accommodating and the drinks made our bad day so much better. Will definitely be coming back.
Went for their tasting menu-loved them!!! Service is so good it's wrong not to tip the team :)
Will return!!!
A Deiight. Food was excellent, light and with a great mix of flavours. Scallops, on special, we're melt in your mouth splendid.. Friendly service. Lovely atmosphere with an outlook on the Gardens. And they provided a complimentary appetiser.
Wine list a bit pricey, but some good quality towards the less expensive end..
Wheelchair friendly.
Strongly recommended
This restaurant is awesome. The ambience is great and a nice location near the MCG amongst others. The food is great. The snapper was my favourite and crab balls a highlight. Lots of variety and a pommegranite champagne to top it off. Highly recommend. Will be back.
My colleagues and I were lucky enough to stumble upon this little treasure of a place & last Friday booked in to have their 2 course express lunch. Trust me when I say there is nothing better to top off the week.
We were so well looked after by the GG's staff & the food was SPECTACULAR!!! {& did I mention it was only $19.90}
Needless to say I will be returning to try dinner, breakfast & dessert very very soon.
I attended an event in their function room. The room is large and can easily accommodate 50 people for a sit down dinner. The room has its own bar and also has large windows which look out to the park.
The two course menu was a choice of chicken ballotine, grilled porterhouse or tortellini for main with beans and grain salad for sides and a choice of chocolate pave, apple tart tartine or popcorn Panna Cotta for dessert. The house made tortellini and apple tart were nice however, because the mains were not large, I would recommend a three course menu if planning an event at their restaurant.
AMAZING food. But on the expensive side. Good for a celebration meal. Food is a work of art.
Great food and ambience. Perfect for a group or am intimate meal. The wait staff were excellent.
Unique classy food. I was so hungry and ordered too much so it was a struggle to finish everything but we managed because the food was great!
Beautiful gnocci. Must get the carrot side dish cooked to perfection across all sizes. This is peanut desert. Leave room!
Had the company Christmas dinner there, great location. Free flow of alcohol though I don’t drink, others appear to be enjoying it thoroughly. Food was really good and plentiful. Good waitstaff and very attentive to all dietary requirements. Gluten intolerant so though it was all share plates, the dietary restricted people all had individual plates made up. The photos are the dessert and entree
I had a coffee here two weeks ago with a friend. We stayed for like 45min and had a good chat. Clean and cosy place. Nice service. From the guy that let us in, to the lady that served our coffee. Couldn't say anything about the taste of food, but it did smell heavenly.
