Review Triim Food & Drink - Melbourne

Adam Smith
Beautiful little restaurant with all the ambience needed. Service by the young lad was great. Barramundi was to die for cooked to perfection. The sauce on the salad should be bottled. Wife had the fettuccini and thoroughly enjoyed it. $10 espresso martini topped off the meal. Totally recommend giving this place a go.
Bill Mrozek
Great lunch. Fish with garlic mash. Veal with risotto. Service and outdoor atmosphere both first class. Could become our favourite Hardware Lane place.
Cindy C Rahardjo
Such a good coffee place around the area. I had a nice time for a strong Segafredo coffee, which I sipped it at the outdoor area in a beautiful Melbourne weather. Although it has an indoor dining space, but having it outside felt like being in a European country. We can view poeple chatting and eating casually alongside the lane. Recommended for a strong coffee addict.

Great place to stop for a drink, the $10 Cocktails went down an absolute treat! The Host and Staff were super friendly. Had already eaten elsewhere, but definitely looking at going back to eat, the Pasta dishes looked delicious. Definitely stop by, relax, eat and drink.

Good service, fresh food Nice Cafe on busy Hardware Lane that offers a good range of pasta, salads or even just for a quick coffee.

Best place to eat in Melbourne, fantastic service fast and friendly, great coffee, food is amazing

Had an issue with a meal (eggshell in food) staff members kept waking past as we were sitting there ignoring, eventually got a refund on one of drinks but left with a sour feeling on what should have been an enjoyable Sunday brunch. Also asked to swap asparagus for spinach and were not alerted that this would be an extra charge when ordering
Kylie
We stoped here for Brekkie. Great coffee and food. Had the Salmon Benedict.
Ana Naum
Amazing food and great service ,highly recommended this restaurant!!

We popped in early on a Sunday morning, it wasn’t too busy and the staff were very welcoming. Triim is a small, cute cafe! All our meals were yummmo and cooked perfectly. Table service was a plus too :)

Was here one Sunday for brunch with my hubby. I must say the location is what I really loved. The place was not too busy for a Sunday early afternoon and the buzz started shortly after.
Food was great. Loved the presentation. Friendly staff!

Thumbs up for the restaurant. Will be visiting soon.
Amanda Xu
Great food and great service! I would highly recommend for anyone looking for brunch in the city - especially the smashed avocado with poached egg and crispy bacon

After an incredible meal at Miznon we decided to share crepes at Triim for dessert
They were delicious! Well worth the calories
We also had exceptional service

Decided to stop by Triim for a quick coffee with the family. Tucked in the popular hardware lane Triim has a lot of tough competition especially when it comes to dinner. With rice paper scissors and Miznon around it’s tough to be the best around the area.

Ordered:
Lemon tart
Flat white (S) $3.80

Review:
Stingy portions from the lemon tart, the plating was beautiful but it stopped there. The pastry was not flakey but it was dense and tasted like a store bought cake. Lemon curd filling was too sour but I liked the punch, sadly it didn’t balance out with nicely. Chocolate playing was unnecessary and it didn’t go well with the tart but paired with the ONE strawberry we got. Flat white was terribly FLAT, no depth and the coffee didn’t taste like it was sourced from high quality beans. Although service was amazing food was close to terrible :)

Great food, great service, great cocktails and how can you beat the location! Very enjoyable and relaxing place with a lovely ambiance. Will definitely be back.

I came here for lunch because the place I actually wanted to go to was closed. I was greeted by a man who was quite rude and sexist, he called every younger lady "darling" and "sweetheart" which was disturbing. I watched that man talk down to another waiter as well in front of patrons. I ordered oysters Kilpatrick, I kid you not there was an entire rasher of bacon on each oyster, very salty and not very pleasant. I also ordered the saltimbocca Alla romano which was flavourless, I had to add do much salt to give it some flavour. The wait staff are rude and the lady who took my payment accused me of pushing in to pay first when I stood at the back of the line and waited to pay like every normal member of society does. I wouldn't go back here again. I regret going in the first place. You'd be better off going to the Macca's around the corner where the food tastes good and the service is better.
Rachel Coghlan
Consistently a go to for breakfast. Food is fast, tasty and fresh. Always great, friendly service! Smashed avo, eggs Benedict and sweet potato stack are lovely
Joanna Li
This place definitely is not the busiest one on hardware lane but if you decide to give it a go, it won't let you down. I loved the basil pesto gnocchi, it's So good! I recommend this restaurant!

After walking up and down Hardware Lane last night and being harassed by the other restaurants to come in, we decided to eat here for dinner and were welcomed by the boss/manager who went through the menu with us! We got a table really quickly & our waiter was so helpful. The food came out pretty quick and it was delicious! We will definitely be back! Thanks guys :)

DISGUSTING. Avoid at all cost. Attempted breakfast here this morning. Waited 45 minutes and asked repeatedly for an update. Watched as others that arrived later received theirs. Obviously they forgot our order. The manager was rude said "that's hospitality mate" Overall from other tables the food looked quite ordinary. Asked if 'fresh' orange juice was made fresh on site. Yes they said and then brought out bottled. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
Nijat Hajiyev
Waited for 35 minutes for the order, because waitress said that they missed the order. when the food came, it was cold and I wouldn't say that we got full.

Finally, we found our food muse in Melbourne. A must visit place is the hardware lane. Lined with food and drink places with taste buds provoking food, I was surprised by the vegetarian option in this place. Every dish is tailored and customised by the restaurant. Very friendly staff and beautiful ambiance to sit through coffee, all day breakfast and lunch until closing. The taste is very boutique.... Have to visit to find out more.

Staff seem friendly when you stop to look at the menu although once we were in though we felt very rushed even though it wasn't that busy. Coffees were hit and miss. Mine was perfect temperature but my partners was luke warm. Food was average. Have had better food at home.
William Woods
Coming from out of the area for a little trip stopped by this place by accident.
Found the people here to be really friendly, the food was amazing, and the coffee was brilliant.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is a local or here for a trip.
Christina Mathiasz
We out for dinner on a Friday night to Triim. Entree was calamari, which was tasty but a little tough. We both had the vegetarian lasagne for main and loved it! Portion was perfect amount too. The cocktails we ordered were the espresso Martini (8/10) and the mojito (4/10). The staff were very lovely. The decor of the place needs a bit more improvement, but would definately come again for a casual dinner.
Sylvia's POV
Triim welcomes you in with friendly and warm vibes.
Menus and shop decor is simple, with indoor and outdoor seating available. Food was decent, filling, and reasonably priced. Staff are very polite and maybe too friendly at times as you'll be asked if you need anything multiple times .

On this the fourth day of my Melbourne CBD Food adventure, I decided to get an early start and hit up Hardware Lane for a nice, filling breakfast. Sasha over at Triim was more than happy to accommodate me and set me up with a table inside. After a bit of exploration and taking some shots of the place with my camera I tucked in to a nice cappuccino served with an eggs Benedict. As Sasha explained all their ingredients are made fresh unlike some places which make their Hollandaise sauce from a powder.

The eggs were cooked to perfection, yolks nice and runny, the sauce tasted great and I finished it all off by mopping up the yolk and sauce with the muffins. Went down nicely and was good value. Definitely recommend this to others for a quick brekkie fix.

The owner Sasch is super friendly. I love his compliment about my hometown. Lovely front staff. Coffee was good, nice locations. Will come back!
J
Very average cafe. The service was good, staff were friendly, but overall the taste of the food was pretty average, just normal breakfast you can get at other places.

They served the wrong coffee to our table which is not really a big deal but I wanted to say, the latte art was really bad. I know it takes practice, I've done them myself, but better not try to have them if you're serving them in mugs. Not very pleasant looking.

I would come back if I were nearby and want to have some cafe food.
Aretha Chen
Most restaurants on Hardware Lane have a staff member outside trying to convince you to come in, which can get very uncomfortable easily. The manager of Triim outside simply explained that both the breakfast and lunch menus were available and what the specials were in a very straightforward, no bull manner. The big breakfast wasn't great, but their paninis were amazing and good value for money. The risotto verde was also delicious. Coffee was a little too acidic. Very professional and speedy service.
Kitty Chau
It's really nice ambience for dinning and taking a break in busy Melbourne centre with a super friendly service. Scrumptious seafood ,like scallops , prawns and mussels, were prepared in Risotto Pescatora. Creamy and delicious combination of the sauce and Risotto Scampi that we can't put down our spoon. Also, super refined mozzarella cheese was added to make the whole dishes with another pair of wings. If you love cheesy stuff, "no stop" is allowed during the addition of cheese.
Rikki Stephensen
Was pleasantly surprised by the normality in the menu, service was excellent and our order was prompt. Coffee was nice and food was simple and yummy. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a no fuss breakfast and wants to walk out happy.
Thanks heaps Triim.

I came here with my friend for brunch the other week just after the lunchtime rush. The waitress was very friendly to us and we felt very welcomed but then the waiters became very pushy. They continuously asked us to order, yet barely gave us enough time to look through the menu. We also waited for a long time for our food.
I got the pasta special of the day, spinach and ricotta gnocchi with napoleon sauce, which costed me approximately 20 dollars. The gnocchi was overcooked, and the portion was not worth the money I paid for. My friend ordered the baked eggs with chorizo. The eggs were overcooked, almost like they were hard boiled and there was only one small slice of bread to dip into the eggs (which was impossible). To be honest, we should have just went to the Maccas around the corner for some cheese burgers.

I came here for a work breakfast meeting. My other work colleagues said this has good food. The location is conveniently located near hardware lane. Service was attentive and friendly. One of the staff who I assume is the owner kept on checking in on us to make sure we've got enough food and coffees to get us through the day.

The coffee was good. I tried their breakfast special chia seed pudding - with almond milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract - topped with strawberries and dried fruit and nuts. The fresh strawberries and fruits and nuts was nice and the chia seed pudding was interesting as I have never had it before. The first few mouthfuls was a delight but I probably ate too many of the strawberries and fruits and nuts in the beginning that when I had none left to go with the pudding in the end that I didn't enjoy the pudding by itself as much.

Overall it's a refreshing and light start to the morning.
JT Esse
Lovely avo smash!! Saved the experience. Juice and coffee quite ordinary. Staff weren't fantastic and forgot the side of bacon.
Tom McCubbin
Had great accommodating and friendly staff that made everyone feel happy to stay for a couple of hours. When the family is back we probably will seek it out again. The food good but was slightly disappointed when the parma didn't come with chips
Tabi Ei
fast service, friendly staff, the corn and zucchini salad and agnolotti aroura with the eggplants inside was great. we went for lunch and we will go back again.
Rochelle
Spectacular service Absolutely amazing food, always feel like a VIP my girls refuse to have breaky anywhere else.we will always be a return customer, they past few times we have turned up with 10-20 people kids and adults we are always made to feel welcome and service above and beyond quality food and beverages.
Amethyst
Friendly staff, lovely location. Delicious hot chocolates! :) A gorgeous way to spend the morning, watching people walk past on the street. Be sure to check in if you're in the area!

My friends and I had been wandering about Melbourne, and we ducked into this lovely café, Triim, which was down a beautiful laneway right in the CBD. It was instantly likeable, with a lovely warm scent that dispersed the chill outside. The owner was kind and accommodating, seating us right by the heater. The hot chocolate we had was beautiful and it is well worth a visit.
Paula
We Walked in while it was raining and met the owner, he sat us right near the heater, & was very hospitable and kind. Apart from wonderful staff, they make a beautiful hot chocolate. Which is delicious with a warm vibrant taste. The menu also is interesting and I would definitely go back there.

WORST COFFEE IN MELBOURNE. $5.20 for an undrinkable latte. I complained to the manager as my coffee was terrible, the milk tasted off, there were coffee grinds floating in the milk and all over the cup. The arrogant manager insisted that his coffee is good and REFUSED TO GIVE ME A REFUND!! Avoid these rip off merchants at all costs. TERRIBLE COFFEE, EVEN WORSE SERVICE! Appalling management.
Mark
Dropped in on a whim while looking for an all day breakfast place. The big breakfast was everything you could ask for and very satisfying. Had a small issue with a hair detected in one of our meals but this was handled very quickly and professionally
Daniel
Very aggressive staff.

I have been here a few times before and I have found the staff very forward and quite rude. The service has always been slow in my experience and in the end when you finally get your food it's met with a sullen expression.

The food is average maybe even bordering on subpar and is only worth the $10.00 that you pay for it. Hardly worth going out of your way for.

And frankly the owner seems disinterested in what his customers think. So it's not a particularly favorite place of mine to go for cafe food, in the city.
Foodieadventures
Love their big breakfast!! So stuffed after finishing my meal and the staff are very friendly too. Good location, great place. What else can you ask for?

QUICK, FRIENDLY AND TASTY. Just dined at TRIIM & had a really great dining experienced. Staffs were attentive & friendly & the food were very good. My friend had the smashed avocado which she said was beautiful & had plenty of flavour unlike other versions she's had which mostly a smashed avocado & the just the feta on top.
I had the eggs florentine which had plenty of spinach & was fantastic; sounds healthy & I pretended that it was but the hollandaise sauce (yummy) just made a liar out of me.
We will be back.
Sam Sowter
Best cocktails, best atmosphere!. We were over from New Zealand for Melbourne International Design Week and wanted to go for a drink somewhere reasonably priced. We were welcomed with open arms and were given the best experience possible. Not only did they help us find our way around Melbourne, they understood our banter and catered to our every need. We have been back twice within the space of two days are heading back for breakfast tomorrow. Exceptional customer service really makes a difference and spending time at Triim was definitely a highlight of our trip. 10/10 highly reccomend.

Nothing bad to say about this place! Myself and two of my girlfriends came to Melbourne for a trip from NZ and decided to go anywhere for dinner that looked Inviting. We were excited about the customer service that was provided and we were made to feel very welcome! We have been back two times since (in two days) and are going back for breakfast tomorrow. Great guys very friendly :-)

Great breakfast & lunch. Came in for breakfast and had the benedict & fresh juice, it was very good & you can tell that the hollandaise sauce was homemade.
The service was friendly, fast & efficient that I came back for lunch had the homemade gnocchi pesto; very, very good it was light & the pesto just went well with the dumplings.
Tick: service & food
Josh
Really Good. Loved the Smashed avocado with feta, the Bircher muesli & the bacon, eggs & toast special (with my choice of coffee, tea or juice for $9!). Busy but received great service. Thanks

Overall, we found Triim a nice place to chill (although there were some rocking tables), it’s nothing really special, they have a simple menu and it’s definitely great value compared to it’s neighbouring cafes and restaurants. We probably would drop by again for a casual meal.
Djmekakova
Very good. Really enjoyed our lunch & dessert. Attentive & very friendly service.

Average, wouldn't return. After not finding anything else open along Hardward St that served cafe food at 6pm, my partner and I decided to venture into Triim, not our first choice by far. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant itself was almost empty.
I inquired as to whether they had Chai tea, unfortunately they didn't so I happily settled for a pot of English Breakfast. Tea was average - made from a tea bag, the milk jug accompanying the tea was only half full and I had to ask for more for a second cup. My partner ordered a strawberry milkshake, it would of had to have been the worse we had both tasted - no ice cream used, milk not nearly cold enough, too much flavouring. We ordered a bowl of wedges, a decent serving, presentation could have been better - both sauces lobbed on the top. Desserts were average, we ordered a Lemon Tart and Chocolate Mousse between us - presentation was very poor and no spoons provided.
Wouldn't return unless desperate.

Food and service is fantastic . I have been eating here for years and the food and service has never let me down.
just recently I had the beer battered flat head and it was amazing as well as the risotto and calamari all Freshly made.
no hesitation in recommending Triim bar restaurant

Great find in Hardware Ln. Found this café last week and spent the next 4 mornings here for breakfast.
First day we had their breakfast specials which were so good and cheap for example bacon, eggs, toast and a latte for $9!!! We also tried the smashed avocado with added poached egg and smoked salmon, amazing. Great coffee and friendly service. We'll be back.
Loves A Spud
Not good.. Coffee was cold to start with and there was no apology just a little attitude and "I'll change it.."

I had smashed avo which had so little avo I had to actively look for it. Sun-dried tomatoes was a great addition but I had to look for those also. Bread resembled Coles $2 loaf. Feta was an off colour & tasted funny. Might have been reduced fat? Not nice. I could have made better myself. It sounded wonderful on the menu but I was really disappointed.

My partner had overcooked poached eggs on soggy (cheap) bread. Mushrooms were nice. He let staff know it was the worst brekkie he has had out ever which is very rare for him - he never complains. I guess the 45 minute wait (it wasn't busy) might have pushed him over the edge.

Had to ask twice for our water bottle to be refilled.

Won't be going back I'm sorry to say. Should have just lined up for Manchester Press..

We stumbled across this place on search for a cafe during a very busy Saturday morning. The manager was very friendly and food was great at a very reasonable price. We enjoyed it that much we came back the next day to which again we were greeted by the friendly manager and staff whom even remembered us from the day before .
Jess1972
FRIENDLY, FAST AND GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY. This unpretentious café served up a really great lunch for 5 people on our weekly lunch catch up; Wednesday 11th. We chose this place because of its extensive menu and great outdoor heaters was a plus. Since we only had an hour for lunch we made sure they could accommodate us on a timely manner which they did and delivered delicious food. Considering what we ordered, herb and garlic bread, lamb shank, risotto zucca, chicken salad special, spaghetti bolognese and calamari main & coffees we were prepared for our bill to be considerable however it was less than expected when we finally received our bill (maybe we caught them on a generous day but we were given a discount). Everyone agreed that the service was quick & friendly, empty water bottles on the table were replaced immediately with a full one & they even asked us how our meals were; it was money well spent. We'll be back again perhaps on a weekend with more than an hour to spare.
Feed Me
THE rudest manager and blandest food. Ever.. I know people rant about their experiences at places so I will just write the facts:
- my companion's meal was incorrect and had to be replaced after we had to chase down a waiter to point out that she was not served a panini, but a hamburger bun
- this was then replaced (once I had finished my meal) with a rectangle foccacia...not a panini.
- my meal was supposed to be a ragu and was on the special board for $20. It was napoli rigatoni with 3 small balls of minced veal. It looked EXACTLY like the napoli rigatoni on the next table, just with three pieces of meat in it.
- when bought to the attention of the manger behind the bar when we paid, he was atrociously rude. I was told that they cannot 'put too much meat' in the meal for $20 (!), but I should have asked for more meat (what?!). I was also told I should 'order a steak' if I was hungry. Why would I come to a restaurant if I wasn't hungry?! The manager did not apologise for the clear mistake for my companion's meal and told us that we were incorrect in our opinion of what a panini was (a fold over thin bread is not a panini, apparently). The manager proceeded to say that he would only charge me the cost of the napoli rigatoni. I thought this was a nice gesture. However, he charged the credit card with the full amount and when I pointed this out before it was signed, he sarcastically responded, 'so you want two dollars back?' to which I said, 'it's $5.50 and YOU were the one offering the refund'. He then turned to the cash draw, hovered his hand over a five dollar note and then gave me two $2 coins. He couldn't apologise nor follow through with trying to fix the situation. Pathetic and insulting. His ego could not accept that he had clearly stuffed up.
Do not eat here unless you want bland food and offensive interactions. Without a joke, this is by far the worst service I have ever had IN MY LIFE. Based on the reviews of previous customers, do Hardware Lane a favour and avoid this place so it will shut down.
Erica Skippings
We stopped in for a late night dessert and drinks. The staff were lovely, cocktails were tasty and the desserts were lovely. Glad we stumbled upon Triim.
Mook
Really good value for breakfast! Considering it was a very busy place (Anzac Day) the food & drink came out in reasonable time. Staff are friendly & efficient. I would recommend & will return.
Anna
Very average.. Nothing special about this place at all. They are surviving off the hardware lane buzz. Had the calamari, which was okay but bad value. Next to our table inside there was some rubbish on the floor. Seems a bit amateurly run or like someone doesn't care. Plenty of better places nearby.
Orla
Best carbonara I've ever had an great wine!! Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet laid back spot with nice non overbearing staff :)
Chelsea
Came here for lunch and really had a great meal & my daughter ended up having breakfast (bacon, eggs, toast & sautéed spinach) as they offer all day breakfast. The 2 lamb shanks was tender & was served on mash; that was very good. My daughter could not complain about her breakfast, the eggs were cooked the way she wanted them & the spinach was also nice. If you're going to complain about breakfast, you should stay home & cook it yourself. Overall, our experience here & hardware Lane was enjoyable.
Shelly
Great breakfast, nice location & really friendly staff.
Frenchtoast & Benedict were fantastic but the coffee was very good.
Sass
Quick service. Veal & sage tortellini was so creamy but not sickening & really enjoyed the Italian side salad. My work colleague had the Greek salad with grilled chicken which was also good because it was a side salad he also ordered a bruschetta. We will be coming back to try the gnocchi & seafood linguini that we saw on the next table to us.
Lou
We will not be back!. We went here for a work lunch, expecting to have lunch within an hour. We received no apology or explanation for the delay, after 50 minutes we finally received our salads. We then were further disappointed by the quality and size of the salad. I had also asked for dressing on the side only to find my salad swimming in dressing. Very disappointed and we will not be back.
Leigh
Came here for breakfast, won't be back. Poached eggs overdone, toast and Rosti appeared and tasted as if bought from a cheap supermarket. Deep fried chicken sausage was horrible. Coffee was ok. Waitress actually admitted she had forgotten about us. The lunch looked a lot better, maybe just not a breakfast venue.
Murgles
The food was great! Very friendly staff and a quiet comfortable atmosphere... Would definitely eat here again! :)
Chris
I had a really lovely breakfast (although it was actually lunchtime by the time we got there) at Triim with my boyfriend. The staff were friendly but not pushy, our orders were taken promptly and our food arrived quickly. We sat outside under the heater and it was lovely - a sunny day, and we could do some people-watching as well. I ate the pancakes with maple syrup, strawberries and ice cream, and it was just what I felt like, and none of it tasted fake, which pancakes sometimes can. My boyfriend had the big breakfast, and he also enjoyed his meal. Although this place wasn't anything out of the ordinary, we had a nice time and some good food.
Dave Petkovski
Such a great venue if you want friendly service and great food and coffee. Thought I'd take a chance during lunch it was busy but worth it, would definitely come back again and again. Highly recommend this place to anyone......
Rachel Wilkinson
Lovely place, friendly staff, good food, great atmosphere
Loujay
Food ok but expensive. Coffee very weak, need to pay 60c for extra shot.
Mithila Karve
Terrible breakfast. Ordered the big breakfast- took almost 30 minutes!!! Was expecting some good quality bread instead received a square piece of toast similar to one that I could get at home for free. Disappointing.
FreeGrapher
Been here twice and liked both times. They have $10 cocktail special on Friday and Sat night with Jazz band playing which is quite nice.
Scott
VERY GOOD LUNCH & SERVICE. What a great traditional fettuccine carbonara & pasta special which was the penne with avocado and chicken. We had a our 5month old baby with us so we were a little apprehensive dining out but the staff were very helpful, thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
As for the service, contrary to the previous review we had a friendly waitress and the rest acknowledge us before and after we dined at the establishment.
We'll be back to try the breakfast menu.
Eddie
Unbelievable Rudeness!. Sometimes I wonder as to what contrivance of circumstances must have occurred for someone as incredibly impolite and graceless to have ended up working in hospitality. The young matriarch who is an ever-present at this uncultured institution is one such anomaly. Rarely have I come across an individual in the service industry with such seeming contempt for humanity. If you happen upon this review in anticpation of the kind of service you might enjoy here, heed the advice of one who has had the displeasure of being subjected to the disprespect inflicted by the aforementioned personage and avoid Triim like the plague, lest ye also be made to feel like a small dollop of excrement.
Shrusty
Can't do Simple.. On a mission to find the best breaky place near my new work. Ordered the simple sourdough with vegimite and a skinny latte. Takeaway. Latte was sour and weak and I threw it out on my way to work. Toast was TINY! 1 slice, barely cooked with miniscule vegimite. If they can't get the basics right I am sure as hell not trying anything else they do!
Sandy
I went there with my near about 10 friends,, we all loved the food n service was so quick,,, food is so good,,triim we r Coming back soon
I Recon this is the one of the best restaurants in melbourne,,

Great Service & Food. Visitor to Melbourne and where to have breakfast ?? Decided on Triim and was not disappointed. Service was v friendly and super quick. The coffee was THE best I had in Melbourne over 6 days. The breakfast of eggs, mushrooms, tomato with basil, toast and beans was lovely. A Melbourne local said her recommend for breakfast was Affagato which happens to be next to Triim so we also tried it the day after. Have to say Triim beats it hands down. Coffee there was luke warm, service was v slow and food was just so so. Would recommend Triim, really enjoyed it.
Inder
Loving. Nice place for breakfast I had French toast that was amazing . Serves was quick as well
Happy
I love triim really nice place and great staff... I love food
Big breakfast was fantastic and Florentine yummy poached egg super perfect I just love it...
Christine Lai
Below par. Only came because it looked half empty & wanted something quick n easy. Beverage service was quick, food on the other hand lengthy. Took OVER 45 mins for order to come out. Food was fairly average, nothing special, nothing I couldn't have cooked myself in 45 mins. I think I would've done better in that time. Staff tried to be conscientious, but still couldn't deliver food even after several requests. They almost ignored us, after several more requests. Staff then kept interrupting while we were dining. WILL NOT RETURN.
Mchrisp27
Lovely. We went to triim this week with my husband, we were really well receive by the staff who help us with the menu. The coffee and food was a fabulous, will definitely recommend it to my friends.
Mama

Holidays
Loved the food, service & location. Really enjoyed the whole grilled baby snappers (*2) with salad, pasta special, grilled chilli calamari and the risotto zucca (recommend). They were about to close but were happy to accommodate us. Quick service, good coffees & great food.
Happy
I had breakfast recently and lunch service is quick and friendly staff and my favourite lamb shank it's really tasty and girlfriend enjoy chicken parma I recommend best place in CBD
Nick
Pleasantly surprise. We came across Triim last Saturday and the place was packed but we thought we'd take a chance (willing to wait) and have breaskfast there. Even though the place was very busy, we were acknowledged and served quickly. Staff were very attentive, i had the big breakfast and it was BIG & hit the spot, my friends had the eggs benedict & french toast (both yummy).
L
Terrible service. Took more than 30 mins.
Liam Goldsworthy
Terrible service took 40 minutes to get an antipasto. Then the mains took a further 20 mins to arrive. All they offered in return was coffee at the end, this place is a disgrace.
Aussie Ginger
Disappointing from start to finish. I was talked into going here with a work colleague for lunch. Ordered the parma which came with salad, and asked to have it with chips instead, and was told it would cost extra. Ok.
Twenty minutes later someone came out and told me that they had run out of chips and that they were expecting a delivery at some stage - did I want to wait or have wedges instead? I opted for wedges.
The $24 parma was barely 1cm thick, impossible to cut through without a steak knife, and tasted like burnt cardboard. The salad on the side was a few limp pieces of green stuff absolutely drowned in thousand island dressing.
The wedges, to be fair, were very good. I haven't eaten wedges since the 1990s so was not confident about this menu option.
The piece de resistance was when the bill came and they'd charged me full price for the wedges. For $30 there are literally countless better lunch options in Melbourne's CBD. Would never return.
Flippin Chicken..
Turned up for a late breakfast. Had a cappucino & hot choc which were both fantastic & ordered 2 big breakfasts. The place was quite busy so was expecting to wait a while for the food but it came out quickly. Great portion size & everything was good. Only quarm was i asked for REALLY toasted bread which came out white, however the polite & friendly staff fixed it without hesitation, that's what i like to see. Would definitely go back, good value for money.

Delicious big breaky and salmon eggs benni !

Coffee was the worst we have had in Melbourne, in fact ever. Big call but true. Eggs benedict was poor And expensive. Keep walking there are
Much better places.

What is going on. Late lunch during the week and the place is not busy at all. Trying to be European/Italian but coming across as a confused American cafe disguised with tacky prints on the wall posing as chic.

Grubby and worn out look interior, the food was below average and extremely disappointing. This place catches tourists in "Hardware Lane", save yourself the effort and go to the crepe place or Affogato two doors down.

Don't bother for breakfast. Ordered a museli and raisin toast for breakfast. Out came a bowl of uncooked rolled oats with six cubes of melon and a tablespoon of yoghurt, no spoon - I had to wait five minutes to get the attention of waiters to get a spoon and some milk. The raisin toast was the stingiest I have ever seen in terms of raisins. Coffee was sub-par by Melbourne CBD standards. If I wanted this I would have scraped around in the back of the fridge and pantry at home... actually if I did, I would have been able to do better than this.

Sitting here right now fuming over the lack of service at this place - my family and I have been here for the past HOUR and the other tables that arrived WAY after us have been served - it would appear that the waiter promptly forgot to punch our orders in. One hour. Really? The food better be REALLY GOOD.

I ordered bacon and eggs on sourdough. I got one piece of very thin average sourdough with two over cooked eggs on top and some bacon beside it. That and an average reconstituted orange juice cost over $17! And after 20 mins of waiting I politely asked if it was ready, then we waited another 5 to 10 mins. It wasn't overly busy. My friend ordered his eggs to be not runny; they were runny. His bread tasted stale. The waiter behind the counter was making a big commotion over a mistake HE made over a lady's bill. The lady just looked uncomfortable. The waitresses were polite, that was the only good thing about the place. I'm sure you'll be able to find a better place than this to eat.

Great BIG breakfast & coffee; good service. We'll be coming back again next time we're in Melbourne.

Had breakfast there two days in a row and found the breakfast menu inexpensive and nicely done. Staff were attentive and helpful and we sat back and enjoyed the urban atmosphere. Can only think some other reviewers are over fussy.

Great place, very accommodating staff were friendly & efficient. We really enjoyed their gluten free garlic bread I had their homemade gnocchi pesto (but with bolognese sauce) which was fantastic & my partner had the penne which had just the perfect amount of chili. Overall, excellent & looking forward to next time. Give it a go.

Disappointing. Went for lunch and ordered the roast vegetable focaccia with a side salad ($9). Staff were very friendly, service was good and food arrived without too much of a wait. The focaccia was awful though; soggy, stale, airy McDonalds-type bread with a few sad-looking bits of zucchini and capsicum inside.

Food was not ordered took 45min for reorder, free coffee was offered until went to pay, manager reneged, hollandaise was from a packet. not cool

Came for dinner. Nice non pushy waiter out front. Was told we could amend the menu but once seated n ordered was denied by chef. Would come back for drinks tho. Lovely female waitress.
