Review Miznon Australia - Melbourne

D Kay Manning
If you are visiting Melbourne and you want a culinary experience then this is the place. We were a group of four and they welcomed us with open arms within a frenzy of vibrancy. Were seated at the counter and where we watched the ordering and the cooking. Both was done with speed and proficiency and with a lot of fun and energy it was like being at a theatre. Then the food arrived and what an explosion of flavours and texture. WOW, WOW, WOW and a big thank you for giving us a culinary experience that we will never forget.

Overall ok but personally speaking I think it’s more hype than substance. The meat bag is literally what it is; with some onions. Their signature dish is literally a whole cauliflower. The gimmick is cute at the start till you gotta get in there and cut it up to eat. As soon as I sat, I noticed a dirty plate with food residue.

Food was absolutely amazing. We ordered the intimate pita, and the eggplant love and kebab. The wagyu beef in the pita was cooked perfectly and delicious. The eggplant and chickpeas drenched in tahini is out of this world. Sitting outside in hardware lane eating Miznon on a mild summer evening should be a mandatory Melbourne experience.

Food was delicious, fresh and came out really fast. Service and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Most of all, the fish, steak and ratatouille pita were all amazing!

Great food and vibes. Came for weekday lunch with the boys, all were impressed. All dishes were perfectly balanced. Had the set menu - generous serving size and felt you leaving great

Restaurant was full but we got seats at the counter, which was brilliant as we got talking with the very friendly chef who kept sneaking ‘tasters’ of other dishes to us! The eggplant was lovely, but so was everything else we tried too. The new take on fish and chips looked amazing. Apparently they do a special Shabbat celebration Friday night that I’d like to experience.

I had the absolute pleasure of playing here for a private work function with the mighty AMA band. What a fantastic location and atmosphere! Truly impressed by the staff, the food, the party people and by Afik our host who looked after AMA like we were family. I cannot speak highly enough of this place its perfect in so many ways! Do have a look at the photos below and if you need a private function room this is a hidden gem in Hardware Lane‼️🍽🔥🥃 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We ordered many dishes to share: Cauliflower, eggplant, beans, mezze, lamb carpaccio, bag of meat, sack of coq. I think the vegetarian dishes and carpaccio were fabulous but it didn’t feel like great value for money… the most disappointing dish were bag of meat and sack of coq. The former were 60% onions, we had to order two of these! The sack of coq was mostly spinach. The cocktails were beautiful but also mostly watered down by the amount of small ice they put in! For ~$70-80 per head including drinks (cocktails and a bottle of wine to share), you don’t leave feeling too happy. You order via a QR code menu and giving the responsibility to the patrons, having to scan your CC to pay each time is a major pain. Adding a tab option would fee more like a restaurant and not a fast food joint. The staff are friendly which is always nice

Ordered the classic meal for our wedding anniversary and we were very impressed with the flavour in all the dishes. Generous amount of food for two + toddler. Chocolate mousse was rich and not overly sweet. We enjoyed our meal.

Overpriced for what you get. We had the falafel pita and the cauliflower pita. Bread was plain, unlike what the pictures portray. It would have been better if the bread was warm and toasted. Taste was also average, especially the falafel.

I am so disappointed by tonight’s dinner. I’ve heard such good things about this place and it was well below average. <br/><br/>Everything was mushy, the texture was awful. The meat was tasteless (literally zero flavour) and dry and the lamb ribs in the pita were just a dollop of congealed fat. <br/><br/>Not an enjoyable experience. I hate writing a bad review as I know people are doing it tough now, but $65 for an unenjoyable meal isn’t great either. <br/><br/>This is not a re order for me. <br/>

one of my favourite resturants in the city. worth a visit on Friday night. service is always so friendly and lively

High quality produce cooked simply and perfectly. Don’t feel sick even after over eating here. Loved the beans and the calamari. The bartender was lovely and gave us complimentary sambucca shots.

Very high review but i was so disappointed the moment i walked in. Too many tables crammed too close to each other, no walkways if you're sitting against the wall. Very noisy inside. Food was good, not something I'd rave about though. Cauliflower was good but what's all the hype about? Best dish was the chicken schnitzel. Yum.<br/>Medium sized space with lots of tables and one 1 toilet.. hmm..

Amazing. Divine. Lovely service. It’s just a cauliflower but somehow so much more. There is a tomato on every table? Stock up on the delicious complementary pita :)

We came here to celebrate hubby's birthday, I can say that we got hooked at the first bite. They transformed minimalist ingredients into very delicious high quality food. With simple setting and presentation, i think they expect the guests to focus on the food quality. I don't really like cauliflower, but roasted baby cauliflower is their hit menu, so we ordered that. I was almost crying after my first bite. This place is die die must try!

Came here with a group and got to try many different dishes but there were only a few I really liked, everything else was just ok. The fish pita was yum with the warm soft bread and aioli, and the falafel pita was good when I first tried it but then the taste got very homogenous as I had more bites. I would come back for the fish pita and the roasted pumpkin only.<br/><br/>Service was just ok as well. Some of the waiters were pretty upbeat, some seemed like they had a long day. I asked one of them for the drinks menu but he seemed like he didn't want to bring it out and just told me to get what he told me to get.

It was okay. Tiny tables, food tastes the same.,bread is amazing though!

Incredible food and atmosphere. Excellent service.
Sunny Days Melbourne
Miznon was among a wide range of choices along Hardware Lane. We tried a couple of their offerings. <br/><br/>First up, the Cheakypita. This was quite innovative. It came with a burger sized falafel, tomato and sour cream. One can never get enough falafel! We also ordered the Ocean Trout Belly with avocado pita which was delicious. The sour cream, onions and pickles were a great combination. The pita breads were soft and scrumptious. <br/><br/>This place was Busy with a capital B but the service did not suffer. Everyone was friendly. <br/><br/>Another big plus was the free flow of sides which included the soft pita breads, pickled cabbages and (omg) dips: tahini , yoghurt and green chili. Each table had a whole tomato and a small plate of salt. The toddler next to our table enjoyed munching on the whole tomato. What a nice touch.

I've always wanted to try Israeli food so I dropped by here on a Friday night for dinner. At first, I was slightly concerned about wait times as I knew the restaurant was very small and they only take limited table bookings but my friend and I decided to try our luck anyway. Fortunately even though the restaurant was buzzing given it was Friday night, we were able to get seated straight away. Staff were very friendly and attentive and service was quick. The baby cauliflower arrived on a piece of baking paper and was baked just the way I love my roast veggies; golden brown with small chargrilled areas. We were thoroughly impressed with the baby cauliflower, it was roasted to the perfect texture and had a hint of saltiness . We were also impressed with the baby octopus and chips, once again extremely simple presentation but a wonderful combination of flavours especially with that creamy sauce poured on top. <br/>I’d recommend this place for dinner with a friend/small group rather than a large group as the place is small and very cramped (you literally have to squeeze past other diners to get to your seat). Despite the sizing of the restaurant, this place has a great atmosphere, friendly vibes and was an enjoyable Israeli dining experience!

Miznon is my favourite restaurant in Melbourne. From the day it first opened I was in love with this place. The food is simple and executed perfectly. The service is like no where else in Melbourne. The whole experience is totally unique and you won’t find anything like it. Every dish is delicious. Check out Friday nights for an incredible dining experience - the Israeli restaurant takes on their version of Shabbat, making the best challah and babka ever. This is the best Melbourne has to offer!! X

It was super busy which is to be expected but is was unclear how or where to order. If you can deal with that, you’re guaranteed some good food at the end

Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to try Miznon! The pitas here are super soft and fluffy! I got the fish pita, and absolutely loved it. The baby cauliflower here is a popular dish, so this seemed like the way to go for us. At first glance, it didn’t look that appetising, but I as pleasantly surprised by how soft and creamy it was. Definitely will be back for more!

Really enjoyed the food here but was really let down by the poor service!

Miznon has now been opened for just over 2 years and still as popular as ever. I first went in January 2018 ( 6 months after it opened) as I wanted to wait till the hype had ceased, but even then when I went during lunch time, it was very packed. The vibe was great but the music was extremely loud and made it really difficult to have a proper conversation. Fast track to December 2019, I visited again for lunch, but this time instead of sitting inside upstairs, I opt to sit outside which was way more pleasant. The music was still as loud as ever. The management should really review this and lower down the sound level. <br/><br/>🔆LOCATION🔆<br/><br/>Miznon is situated on the busy Hardware Lane between Little Bourke Street and Lonsdale Street. The premises is a little closer from Little Bourke Street end. It is a split 2 level venue, with the lower level being the kitchen and ordering counter. There are 3 x tables of 4’s lined up against the wall, there are counter table dining facing the kitchen (max 6 seats) for dining, also large steps which can also be used as seats. Towards the side there is a table with condiments which customers can help themselves to. <br/>Upstairs there a long communal table and mixture of small and medium size table seatings and there are seatings outside as well which is perfect for when its warmer weather.<br/>Each table has a whole red tomato and sea salt which is cute and a nice touch.<br/><br/>🔆SERVICE🔆<br/><br/>Small saucer platters, cutlery, napkins, brown paper bags, pita bread, yoghurt, tahini, pickled cabbage, green chilli<br/>On separate table which is on the upper level near the entry on the corner there are glasses and bottles of water, plates and napkins all self-serve.<br/><br/>🔆MENU/PRICE🔆<br/><br/>Grass Fed Cow, Lamb section of the menu<br/>Steak & Egg, $17.00<br/>(Sour crème, tomato, onion, Lebanese cucumber)<br/><br/>🔆VERDICT🔆<br/><br/>I love their home-made pita, it is so fresh, soft and fluffy. The piece of steak is of decent size, thin, well cooked and juicy. The fried egg accompany it was great along with the tomato and cucumber. The 2 issues that I had was the large piece of spring onion stuffed in the pita. I didn’t eat it but its such a waste. <br/>The sour crème was delicious however its very messy. The sauce is right at the bottom so when you bite into the whole thing the sauce drips out at the end soaking the pita. Hence lesson learned from my first visit as I ate straight from the brown paper bag – no no! <br/>Tip: Grab a plate, and the sauce can drips onto the plate instead of everywhere else. Even though its better than eating off the wrapped brown paper bag, I think there should be a better way of having this – maybe put the sauce on the side in a little container?<br/>Overall the flavours were great but it was just very messy to eat. It would be nice if they could provide wet towelettes to customers because hands does get very sticky afterwards.

The food is Average. Nothing was too amazing that we would be coming back any time soon! The cauliflower was good but a little under seasoned. We got the pita wrap also! It was good but yet again no outburst of amazing flavours

We were a group of 4 and ordered a few of there dishes. The Lamb shawarma was undercooked and when we told the servers about it they said thats how it is suppose to be. The other dishes were bland and average. The glasses in which the water was served were dirty. When we asked for extra dips we were told to go all the way down and get them as it is self serve. It was quite disappointing and we tried this place after reading all the good reviews about it but it was quite the opposite.

I’d give 3.5 star but unable to choose.<br/>Funky and lively place but I did find the music to be too loud down in the kitchen level as I struggled to her the waitress.<br/>We ordered the run over potatoes, which were nice but nothing special. I would have liked more sour cream as it only can with a dollop. The pita’s we ordered were ‘Minute Steak’ and ‘Pita with a bone’, both were tasty and the steak and lamb were both tender. The only negative would be that, the pita itself was a little cold. It would have been nicer warm.<br/>Overall the pitas were great for lunch.
Gee
3.5<br/>Finally made it to Miznon for their perfect pita. The run over potato to start was seemingly a jacket potato squashed flat with some herbs and a dash of sour cream (definitely needed more sour cream). Had the lamb pita and minute steak pita. Both were delicious if not a little small at $19 a pop. Decent meal but pricey for what it is.

One place in CBD we keep going again and again. Amazing food and very friendly staff. Try ratatouille, cauliflower and Chickapeta. Yum and delicious. Pita bread, sour cream, hummus, chillies in olive oil and pickled cabbage for self service. Flavours are creative and wonderful. Being a vegetarian, I have limited knowledge on meat. But, my colleague highly recommends bag of meat and Wagyu. You won't be disappointed with this place.

Love this place! Have been here multiple times and it is my go to please to bring tourists. The vibe is friendly and casual. The cauliflower is divine and I really like the falafel pita. The menu changes frequently and last night I had the minute steak pita which is my new favorite. The have opened a waiting bar at the top which is cool and you never wait too long for a table.

Came here on Monday lunch with our family. They were super busy as they are really popular among the office worker. We had lamb, fish and steak &egg in the pita breads, bag of golden meat, baby cauliflower and sac de coq ( salad with grilled chicken)<br/><br/>We really enjoyes the meal and love the bag of golden meat! We recommend this place!

I have been here before and this time around came with my sister, who is a regular customer here, and my husband. Considering it was a Saturday the place was packed. The service is pretty good. We have decided to have the cauliflower (our favourite), the beef steak, and eggplant. They all arrived in that order and everything was delicious. We were already full before the eggplant came but one bite from that we had also demolished it in 5mins. I didn't know that they served pita for free! And this pita has won my heart over that I told my husband we have to find out where they buy them. Love love this place! I shall return again and I highly recommend it 👌

We had the Bag of green beans, Hot spinach & potato plate and Baby cauliflower flower to share.<br/>This restaurant has a casual atmosphere and is a good place to have share plates, mediterranean food and vegetarian options. There were free dips available on the first level which was a nice treat prior to receiving our order! <br/>The service was great.<br/><br/>📍 59 Hardware Lane, CBD

I do not understand the hype of Miznon. I have been twice now from friends who have raved about it. I am not a fine diner, and would prefer to get good value for money when eating out (with portions). Don't get me wrong, there were some really lovely menu items such as the pitas but most are definitely designed to share. We got the banquet menu and were told we would struggle to finish the food but it was definitely not enough food for my family which included 4 adult males.<br/>✨ I would recommend the trout pita and the other pitas also looked delicious.<br/>✨ Would not recommend going with the banquet option if you want to get a good filling meal or getting the bag of beans unless you are happy to pay $13 for grean beans.

Finally dined in Miznon after being recommended by friends. This is a brilliant sharing restaurant and suits everyone’s needs. The menu has very good vegetarian options but also satisfies the meat eater amongst us.<br/>Must haves: bag of golden meat, whole cauliflower. <br/>

A great place for sharing dishes and something different! The atmosphere is great and you can see the chefs cooking. <br/><br/>This place was awesome. Super simple food and extremely tasty. Honestly that cauliflower is to die for. It’s like eating buttery mash potatoes. <br/><br/>The bag of greens were crunchy and seasoned delightfully. A nice healthy addition to the menu. <br/><br/>The chicken bag could have had more chicken but the aioli was tasty along with the chips. <br/><br/>And finally the swordfish was delicious. Peppered nicely. <br/><br/>I will be back!<br/>

Roast beef ($19)<br/>Calamari ($18)<br/>Cauliflower ($14); eggplant ($14)<br/>Falafel burger ($15)<br/>⭐️ 4.5/5 ⭐️<br/>🍴Delicious and affordable #mediterraneanfood by master chef Eyal Shanini. Besides the widespread menu that also has vegetarian options, we love that they provide free-flow sides of fluffy pita bread, talhni & salads. Our favourites were the roast beef that was very tender and well-seasoned with tomato seeds and black pepper, and the baby cauliflower flower that was a surprisingly big portion and amazingly soft yet with a nice char-flavour. The #falafelburger was nice but not particularly amazing; personally would have preferred it to be crispier & richer in flavour. The calamari was also chewy and came with refreshing vegetables and while we would have liked the eggplant to be a bit more flavorful with a bit more sauce, it was of a great soft texture <br/>📍@miznonmelbourne, 59 Hardware Lane Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Plus points for free pickles and the unlimited, complimentary pita with dips (hummus? tahini?)<br/><br/>Counter seats over outside seating - staff are friendly. Shots on the house on Friday nights! <br/><br/>Loved the tender lamb ribs in the pita with a bone <br/><br/>Price point vs size - like what everyone else said.

4.5<br/>Called into Miznon for a drink on the half chance of some atmosphere on a rainy Melbourne evening after work. Pleasantly surprised by how buzzy the place was and how friendly the staff were behind the counter... sure must be a fun place to work. We had just missed happy hour so ordered off the standard drinks menu. Cocktails were nice a strong I enjoyed Pinot Grigio by the glass. The place could not have had any more roasted cauliflower if you tried. Menu always very different the the last time we visited but still plenty of exciting vegetarian options and equally delicious meaty goodness. Glad we got reacquainted even just for drink and will definitely aim to visit for food again real soon. <br/><br/><br/><br/>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br/>Previous Review<br/>This busy little restaurant was one that I was absolutely thrilled to be invited along to sample the menu at. Israeli street food is not on the menu at many places around Melbourne and it sure was a vibrant and fresh menu that greeted us as we sat on the bar looking over the food prep area. Israeli celebrity chef Eyal Shani opened up his original Miznon restaurant in Israel along side his 5 restaurant as a way to bring great food to the masses at affordable prices. This Hardware Lane establishment is about 6 months old and has sister restaurants have opened up in Israel (3), Paris, Vienna and most recently New York. <br/><br/>The creative people in the kitchen let the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves. This restaurant is about slow cooked meats and with limited salt and pepper seasonings, farm sourced produce and delightful seafood. <br/><br/>I loved my Peacock cocktail and surprised my self by ordering it given it was Arak based with that strong anise flavour. This however worked magnificently with the organic apple juice and was a bargain at only $13.<br/><br/>We tried a delightful calamari and also flash fried fish dish. The bag of beans was a delightful green bean salad with olive oil and was a perfect accompaniment. I ordered the “pita with a bone” pita pocket which had overnight slow cooked lamb on the bone. The meat was so tender that the bones literally lifted out without resistance. It was a truely delicious pita. The pita itself was soft and fresh. I loved it. My dining partner ordered the ocean trout belly pita and was equally satisfied with her selection. <br/><br/>Another interesting dish was the Run Over potato baked with butter and sour cream then bashed down then rolled out flat between sheets of paper. Tasty and unique way of serving up the common spud. <br/><br/>We were quite full at this point but JH saw another diners slow cooked wagyu, chick pea & carrot dish so opted to try a small taster of this. The meat was as stunning as my slow cooked lamb but I was full and she did had the lions share of this dish. <br/><br/>Grand finale and a perfect was to finish off your lunch and dinner was with the chocolate mousse. This was made with manjari chocolate and was a rich and decadent dessert that is perfect for sharing. <br/><br/>I loved my time here and the hustle and bustle of this busy kitchen. Suggest you do as we did and grab a bar stool overlooking the action. With such unique dishes that came out of this busy little kitchen I recommend you try.

Great food and service in a funky venue on hardware lane. dishes were pricey probs due to being in the CBD but the free bread and sides was a nice touch. We stopped by for a quick lunch and we were welcomed with a complimentary piece of apple dipped in honey for Jewish new year “Shana Tova”. For lunch we ordered the golden fish and lamb pita and both were great and uber tasty. Will certainly try other things off the menu next time we visit.

I was excited to try this restaurant as I had received some good feedback about it and it has a high rating on Zomato. Unfortunately, my expectations exceeded my reality and so here is a recap of my night:<br/><br/>I have a friend here from overseas and wanted to show her a top rated restaurant in Melbourne. We stroll down Hardware Ln and I see Miznon. “Yes!” I think to myself and we walk in to ask for a table. <br/>“Where’s Anna? Let me find her,” says the girl at the door when we asked. About 5 min later, another girl walks up (presumably Anna?) and takes us to a table outside and we receive water, menus, polite smiles... so far, so good.<br/>Around 10 minutes after we sit down, the “real” Anna comes to the busy outside area and from 2 tables away proceeds to tell us that we need to get up, asks us if anyone actually sat us there, people have been waiting, etc. We didn’t end up being moved as I didn’t think it was appropriate to start serving a table and tell them to get up, but this left a sour taste, even more sour than the lemon on the bag of beans we ordered.<br/><br/>Thankfully we had a nice waitress who was very polite, and apologetic for her colleague’s behaviour, but the food was cold, the serving of calamari was ridiculously small too, and all in all I don’t think I would be back here again. Definitely not worth the hype.

Lovely service, friendly staff and appreciate the free pita breads and dips (although they ran out quickly).<br/><br/>The lamb pita was delicious. The lamb was so tender. The only issue was the veggies were at the bottom so was mainly eating meat and bread for a while. Would need to be filled better.<br/><br/>The bag of golden meat has great flavour but there was mainly onions than meat. There was one big chunk of meat with the inside having no flavour.
MELBFOODIEEE
the unlimited, complimentary pita was delicious and was probably the best part of our meal as the dips were not up to par. the whole roasted cauliflower was cooked to perfection yet lacked a lot of seasoning, which left a lot to be desired. for the price, it’s worth it if you eat your fair share of pita - but try your best to get the table right next to the bowl, otherwise you won’t get a chance. <br/>

3.5<br/>Located within the European-vibe lane, this eatery has a funkier, cheerful vibe as with the music (though bit too loud on the 1st floor). There were two floors and outside areas so plenty of seats, staffs were nice too though food did take a while considering it's a pita. <br/><br/>There was a stand where free condiments (yoghurt, tahini, pickled cabbage, green chilli) and pita bread were provided which was great. I do like the pita, it's bouncy and I like the slightly nutty flavour though unfortunately they were bit cold.<br/><br/>Ordered Golden fish and it was quite yummy, the fish was generous and cooked well, went along with the sauce and salsa, as well as a great filling portion. Now on the bad side, the sauce were concentrated on the bottom so the top didn't have much flavour but the bottom had too much flavour, and also it could use more tomato salsa (which they kindly gave when I asked for it), and again the pita was not warm which was bit of a let down as it could have made it much better.<br/><br/>My friend had the pita with a bone and it was kind of disappointing as it was lacking flavour so it was bland, also same cold pita. The meat was tender though and the portion was quite good.<br/><br/>Went back the 2nd time, staffs were as lovely as ever, had the fish pita though this time I separated the sauce which is a good call. Still really good.<br/><br/>Cauliflower was...... good? it was buttery and quite nicely flavored but just too mushy so we weren't a fan of the texture. i actually liked the leafy parts as they had a nicer texture lol. some parts were also bit burnt i think.<br/><br/>Again, loved the pita bread, sooo good!<br/><br/>P.S They have less dishes in the dinner menu<br/><br/>Overall a pretty good greek eats in the city, just tad bit pricy but do help yourself with lots of yummy pitas!<br/><br/>( follow for more!✨)<br/><br/>xx,joelle.

Four of us was there last night wanting to try a bit of Israeli Mediterranean given that the reviews were really good. This was not the case. Knowing that it can get quite busy I made a booking for 6.15pm and was rudely advised by the lady serving the front that we did not have a booking. Just because you could not find our booking on your system, that does not mean we did not make one especially when we showed you our reservation email confirmation. We were made to wait for 45 minutes after approaching her twice to ensure she had not forgotten about us. Understand it is quite busy but really surprised with the service we received. Food was mediocre. The cauliflower seemed to be more salty on one side than the other and the pitas were not really worth the price charged. There was no authentic flavour in the dishes we ordered - Tahini tasted more like peanut butter spread than anything. The pitas were very soft and fluffy - I'll give you that but as soon as the bread was restocked, people would grab half the basket so the others waiting for bread had to wait another 10mins for more bread. Self service station is unappealing in a small restaurant. Overall not great. Would not go there again, especially when we had a made a booking and allowed 2 hours to eat before salsa class that we were late to!

Yummy! Got a bit of everything and it was worth it. Best dish were barramundi wings.. WOW<br/>Only down side we were never told about the pita bread/salad and cauliflower dish until we paid. Def will be back

Ordered the dinosaur bone and it was great! The ribs actually fell off it’s bone and the meat was tender. the cauliflower flower was also really soft and tasty and yummy. The ambience was amazing. If you want somewhere quieter do sit outside; it’s quite a romantic setup. The insides noisier, but it’s better access to the unlimited pita bread you can get! The pita bread was soft and yummy too. Also very impressed with the service. Satisfied with the whole experience.

I am really not sure why this restaurant is rated so well. It has been on my list for a while and my partner and I made it there today for lunch. I have to say it was thoroughly underwhelming. We ordered the Bag of Golden Meat, Hot Chickpeas and the Pita with a Bone. Everything was under seasoned. The brisket was too dry. We topped everything with salt, tahini, chilli sauce and the pickles that come free just to give it some flavour. My partner and I both grew up in the Middle East - food from this region is made up of simple ingredients that are well executed, and Miznon wasn’t close to even the most mediocre meal we could have had there. The free condiments were the most flavourful and authentic part of the meal. I’m sorry to say I won’t be returning. I really had high hopes for this place.

We loved 😍<br/>This place is famous of the whole baked cauliflower dish. It was delicious, with the light salted edges.<br/>They have unlimited pita and salads for dine-in customers.<br/><br/>We disliked 😖<br/>The place is pretty small so try to come early or book.
Melb_Belly
The pitas came out fast, fresh and tasty. They were soft and fluffy and that falafel patty, delicious.<br/>Bag of golden meat had a wonderful charcoal flavour and there's a decent amount of meat in the bag.<br/>Inside you can help yourself to free pita bread and pickles.<br/>The serve was great and friendly

First time here :)<br/><br/>Loved:<br/>* sweet green beans, great refreshing snack, could replace my desire for fries<br/>* cute rustic atmosphere, no plates, and tomatoes on every table<br/>* the mash inside the chicken schnitzel, excellent idea!<br/>* unlimited pita bread and dips<br/>* the pita was also super soft, unknowingly ate so much (it's dangerous)<br/>* good mousse, not runny and not too sweet, I believe it's a dark chocolate?<br/>* caramelised banana in the dessert pita<br/><br/>Feedback:<br/>* the slow cooked beef needed a tad bit more salt and it was taken away a bit too early, wanted to dip the pita in its sauce 😅<br/>* the bill ended up being a bit more expensive than expected considering the amount of food we had.... Should have eaten more pita lol<br/>

It’s my third visit to miznon, and what can I say they never disappoint. The pitas are my absolute favourite. The meat is delicious and definitely juicy. However the cocktails are questionable. Nevertheless, it’s still a great place
I Have A Reservation
Friends recommended this place for lunch, I have now tried a few times for dinner and am confident to say that we've tried most of the things on the menu. If you could get a table downstairs, do it. Remember to order the Best Chocolate Mousse - it's not a lie.

This restaurant is split on 2 levels. Fresh, wholesome and flavoursome food. Service is okay. Enjoyed the eggplant, steak, octopus, chicken schnitzel, cauliflower and beans. The servings are relatively small (except the chicken) so having a variety of items to keep full is required. I had read great reviews on the cauliflower and I must agree, it’s a must try!
Tasteforyourbuds
Waited about 30 mins for a table at dinner. Not too bad as you could sit and wait inside on the stairs. Food was really delicious, because of their famous baked cauliflower now I eat it regularly !! It’s a must try

May be I am the most illiterate person when it comes to food but I totally failed to understand the hype around the baby cabbage today. I had my first bite, waited, then in hope of finding some blast of surprising flavors took another and just like the finale of Game of Thrones, it ended; Just like that. Nothing. <br/><br/>Another dish that I tried was Sac de Coque. First of all the ingredients mentioned on the menu, Aioli was missing. It was nowhere to be seen in the field of greens and potatoes with chicken seen sometimes playing as well. Taste. Average for my taste. Not worth the bucks I spent.

Hardware Lane gem<br/><br/>Mediterranean street food, casual dining, rustic ambience - go to place for lunch. I have almost tried most of their dishes on the menu, Cauliflower and wraps never disappoints. Recommend Miznon highly to anyone who loves casual dine place yet delicious food in the heart of Melbourne City.

What a surprise! The baked cauliflower is a must have. The beef brisket was delicious. The two of us sat on stools overlooking the kitchen, the vibe was fun and relaxed. Loved it.

Was fairly disappointed by miznon after seeing the wonderful reviews online. Whilst the flavour was good in the bag of golden meat, it was too salty, we could actually 'crunch' on the salt granules which did not melt.<br/><br/>The cauliflower was a let down, it was extremely overcooked and soggy. The other dishes we had were fairly mediocre. For what we paid, we probably wouldn't come back again.

Mediterranean street food eatery created by master chef Eyal Shani. <br/>We booked Miznon for a friend's birthday. What a fantastic meal this was, all the dishes were packed full of flavour and I loved that while the food was presented so casual, they tasted gourmet!<br/>My favorites- the roasted cauliflower (this was brilliant), barramundi wings and lamb pita.<br/>Friendly service and reasonable prices...<br/>A must visit<br/><br/>
Don't Mess With Me
This one is hard to review. The general ambiance of the restaurant is lovely and the food presented looked nice. While the package is pretty, there was really no substance to the food and overall there is something quite unauthentic about it, which made the whole experience disappointing. The food was almost undigestible and for what one pays, it's quite inadequate. Mediocre food is acceptable at a busy pub or cafe, but really, this was just not ok. I won't be back.

We ordered 5 dishes between the two of us. <br/><br/>Portion size and pricing was decent, was definitely full after the 5 dishes and $95 later. <br/><br/>Octopus was bomb af. Favourite dish out of all.<br/>Falafel cheakypita was really good.<br/>Swordfish was average. Kind of chewy. <br/>Baby cauliflower is overhyped.. just tasted like soft cauliflower. <br/>Bag of golden meat.. unfortunately dry and chewy.<br/><br/>Overall was a good experience with groovy music and chill vibes.<br/>

I could come here almost everyday. Delicious range of food, been here at least three times and have not been disappointed with any one of their dishes. Amazing well-thought out food, and their pita deserves special mention with it's thick, light, fluffy interior.

Been here twice. Great dining experience and bang for buck. Food was delicious and you get generous amounts of food with the tasting menu. Must get the whole cauliflower!

This amazing restaurant is by far my most favourite casual place to eat ❤️<br/>We all ordered the minute steak in Pita and shared a baked sweet potato <br/>While we waited for our food to arrive we helped ourselves to warm Pita bread ( To die for! - by far the best in Melbourne ) with dips as well as delicious salad - can’t wait to return to taste more ❤️

You’ll find Miznon Melbourne located on Melbourne’s ever popular Hardware Lane.  This Israeli street food eatery was created by Israeli celebrity Master Chef Eval Shani with a focus on taking flavours of each city and translating it into one of his mouth-wateringly delicious pitas.  At Miznon Melbourne you can expect a casual yet vibrant authentic gourmet street food experience that is packed full of flavour and served with real friendly Israeli hospitality.

My favourite ones are the baby cauliflower, pita with a bone and steak. Very reasonable price. Pretty quick, even though when they were busy. I like to sit near the kitchen, really enjoyed the craziness in the kitchen area.

Was pretty surprised by my potato dish. Didn’t look that appealing tasted phenomenal. I was a bit disappointed that the ratatouille didn’t outline it had onions in it even though other dishes advertised when they did. I’m not going to fault Miznon for that dish as it wouldn’t be what I’d traditionally order but my other one was fantastic!

An excellent gem in the middle of the same same hardware Lane. <br/>The cauliflower was a surprise. Soft and delicious. <br/>The falafel wrap was ok. The first time we came a few months ago it was better. Not as crispy and lacked flavour this time. So a little bit disappointing but would still recommend giving this place a try.

100% worth the hype. The pita is so delicious and flavorful I can guarantee you'll fall in love with it. The cauliflower is also delicious!! It doesnt taste like how I normally eat it all, it's so creamy and flavorful. A wonderful quick lunch idea!

Have been to Miznon multiple times and it is consistently amazing - guarantee you will be addicted to their pitas (how is their bread so soft?!) and the whole roasted cauliflower is still one of the best I’ve ever had (literally softer than a baby’s bottom!)<br/><br/>The food is so so affordable - they offer a $45 feed me menu but if you’re in a group I suggest just choosing a few dishes to share. You can easily get full on $30pp. I recommend any of the pitas (sharing between two is great otherwise they are pretty much a whole meal for one), the roast cauliflower and bag of golden meat (meaty, oniony goodness). I’d skip the sac de coque next time (kind of like a chicken salad with chips) and ‘the best chocolate mousse’ (quite rich, best if sharing). <br/><br/>Another thing to note is that they do take bookings for upstairs, otherwise the downstairs area is bustling and can get really loud - not the best atmosphere for a group convo but great for a top notch feed in a casual laid back environment.
