Bibelot is the dessert's expert, great decoration and wonderful taste, Use all high quality ingredients. They care about their customers' experience and feedback, They've tried their best to make their customers happy.
I will keep coming back to Bibelot and recommend to my friends, they are trustworthy.
I knew would be special place when they first moved in... a few yrs on and still one of my must when in South Melbourne
This is the most exciting place in Melbourne. The ice-creams/ gelatis / sorbets are so amazing especially the mandarin and yuzu. The cakes look like jewels and taste just as good especially the Hazelnut-Praline Crunch and Life With Bibelot and to top it off I bought the most delicious silky white chocolate Easter egg. The staff are always great. If you haven't been you are definitely missing out.
Loved the cakes. The mirror shine was to die for tried some ice cream and the flavours were great as well.
Beautiful food, great service and great ambience. Lovely staff made our visit on easter wonderful.
Always receive the loveliest service from Bibelot. I won't go anywhere else for my coffee. Thank you to all the kind staff.

The taste of the magnificently produced unimaginable delights can't be fully described unless one has been to Babilot.
Easy online ordering and pick up, super delicious cake, would definitely recommend!
I absolutely love the lavender cake here. Would come back again and again for that!!! ☺️ everything thing else is so so to me.
My go-to place for birthday cakes. I have ordered the Hazelnut Praline Crunch over 10 times and it's always a favourite! It looks and tastes incredible (make sure you have a sweet tooth though!)
Pretty cakes, excellent coffee all with a side of luxe decor; Bibelot is an upmarket boutique patisserie with the most elegant pastries. Experiencing morning or afternoon tea here is an absolute treat.
The front of house is all glass cabinets lined with beautiful and delicate cakes, eclairs and macaroons; a gelato area and shelves heaving with chocolates and take home goodies. The rear houses a sophisticated cafe area, with black bistro tables and luxe emerald velvet seating. The cafe is inviting and comfortable, and certainly a pleasant place to dine.
We chose two pretty cakes from the generous display, and both were as delicious as they looked. With many layers in each cake, with delightful textures of cake, biscuit, jelly, mousse and chocolate; these treats really are heavenly. The coffee is fabulous and service is of the excellent standard that you would expect from such a high end venue. Prices are on the upper end, but you really do get what you pay for at Bibelot; with it's exquisite French style pastries and gorgeous surrounds. If you are looking for somewhere to spoil a loved one, I would highly recommend Bibelot for those who are lovers of sweet delights.
I highly recommend the desert degustation. Amazing variant from macaroon, to chocolate to fruity flavour.
Delicious coffee, super tasty and really pretty!
Hazelnut crumble ice cream with the additional chocolate topping running on tap. Oh my! Absolutely delish
What a wonderful cake here! Highly recommended this lychee cake, they had lychee inside and lychee jelly on top, biscuit base. The raspberry & yoghurt one just so so, taste like apple with cinnamon.

Review: why do I love bibelot?
1. The process of purchasing cakes were so seamless, thanks to them offering Apple Pay. Completed the transaction in 5 minutes! If only other cake places caught up with technology... (I have to still read out my debit card numbers to some bakeries)
2. They also provide complimentary chocolate plaque with a customised happy birthday message of up to 15 characters. Amazing stuff!
3. Picking up the cake was also quick and easy. Unfortunately, you would have to carefully place the cake on your lap and hope that it’s not a BUMPY ride. The cake also needs to be refrigerated and taken out about 15 mins before consumption.
We ordered the hazelnut praline crunch. The cream was honestly a bit too much for me, but I loved the macarons and consistent peanut crunch that layered part of the cake. The macarons were still delicious even a day later - I would definitely go back for that!! It was also a struggle for me to eat beyond a slice because it was quite sweet. That probably means you have desert for the next 2 days!

Mango coconut yuzu cake and the yuzu gelato is the best!
After a busy Sunday afternoon shopping, we tried Bibalot’s Mango, Coconut, Yuzu which was divinalot 😋 The bonsoy milk or dark hot chocolate in a big mug was great. Service was excellent too.
Definitely coming back soon!
The gelato choice were abundant and everything tasted amazing! We tried the tasting platter consisting of 9 mini cakes and chocolates. Loved the variety of the tasting platter and everything is well priced especially for sharing.
A must when I'm in South Melbourne, from the gelato to their matcha lattes or amazing dessert range on display, everything is so good. Love how they have yuzu gelato as its so refreshing and just perfect on a sunny day. Be sure to check out their desserts as you will not be dissapointed, thats for sure.
I absolutely loved my visit to binelot. I decided ti order the goirmandise board which was 9 different treats for only $35. So many different flavors and a great way to taste the most. Will definitely be back
We loved 😍
The chocolate filled cones with your gelato are a must !
The gelato flavours are delicious. We loved the strawberry and pistachio ones the best. The desserts here were also amazing!
Sweet set with Grub Fitzroy !
I loveddddd the Bibelot desserts ! I liked that they weren’t too sweet and that every bite was not too rich or overwhelming. All the flavours just worked so well together 👌🏼
This place is a heaven for all dessert lovers. I just couldn't pick one cake so i decided to go for many of their mini collections.
My personal favourite would be hazelnut crunch. You can never go wrong with hazelnut and chocolate 😍😍
Such a delight to my taste buds. Can't wait to taste many more😍😍
Expensive yet exquisitely tasting cakes that leave you craving for more. The petite sizes were just right for tasting more than one. So many options on display so spoiled for choice. Can't say I will be back often as it will break the bank but definitely a once in a blue moon treat.
So hard to choose between so many mouthwatering desserts ✨ So I went for a combination of all!
I must say, the mango mousse (?) is one of the most delicious things I have ever tried and goes well with a long black coffee or hot green tea. Bibleot is now my go-to place for desserts and I’m so happy it exists! too bad it’s a bit isolated from the rest of CBD though.
Hello Bibelot. Today a few of us came for afternoon tea. It was lovely. Coffee: great. Cakes: great. Service: great. But water glasses: dirty yuck dirty gross! Maybe time to change your dishwashing detergent?
My daughter and I love the hazelnut praline crunch and the raspberry chocolate cheesecake while hubby prefers the mango, Yuzu and coconut dome.
All the mini cakes are beautifully done, and the combination of flavours are very well thought of. Every piece is a work of art. The venue is also very pleasing to the eyes and the staff are all very friendly, helpful and professional.
The chai is great here. Chocolate and cakes are very tasty. Some of the staff are borderline incompetent BUT my mate and I come back here now because it’s always a good laugh. We love this place. We don’t want the service to change 😂
😱Lizzie’s first impression: I absolutely loved the decor of this place - very close to South Melbourne market and bustling on the weekend, this place is the place to be for desserts whether on an empty stomach first thing on Saturday or after dinner.
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I loved the hazelnut praline crunch that I tried - it had so many lovely textures, like the nutty texture and also the smoothness of the hazelnut chocolate cream. It was one of the best cakes I've tried. The macarons are also delicious - there are so many to choose from. I also tried the Mango yuzu and coconut dome which was yummy - I loved the mango mousse!
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: N/A
🥇Lizzie rates overall: If fat wasn't a factor, I would come back for the desserts everyday!!
Happened to drop by for dessert, and really enjoyed the selection here. I got some gelati, with the those raspberry and lychee combo being a real highlight.
Came here for dessert after dinner. Nice cozy venue with plenty of beautifully decorated pieces. The gelato is smooth and delicious. The little cake piece, yes a bit pricey but they looks incredibly complicated to make, I know as I’m a baker.
Will definitely come back again.
It's hard to fault this place. It's got such a wide variety of desserts and sweets for whatever mood you may be in. I had the Mandarin & Yuzu sorbet, pistaco gelato and mango coconut dome. Everything was delicious and spot on with balance of flavours and textures. Heaven for someone with a sweet tooth!
Amazing! Both the Mango Yuzu and the Apple & Caramel were impeccable!! Full of flavour, nothing to fault for these 2. However the lychee was missing a bit of flavour, but it was still very nice. Definitely recommend this place! Very cute atmosphere and very nicely presented.
My rating is predominately for the presentation! EVERYTHING looks incredible, clean space and relatively convenient to get to! Flavours work too but perhaps less is more?
I have no reason to give anything less than 5 stars! Good service although it get a little bit busy in the afternoon. They have amazing range of desserts which I believe you will find your favorite here! The dessert is not sweet and very light! Can’t wait to try more next time!
Perfection on a plate. Each dessert was meticulously assembled with each component made to perfection. Delicate balance of flavours on each items.
Just disappointed I couldn't eat all of them!
Love their range of dessert creations, whether it's cakes or gelato. My favourite includes hazelnut praline crunch, chocolate passionfruit stone and the green tea mandarin dome!
A small object of curiousity, beauty and desire with a big beautiful space to achieve it. Bibelot located near to south Melbourne market and offer varieties of desserts. We have ordered plum and hojicha mousse and jasmine and lychee mousse. We favors Jasmine and lychee over the other as it has the perfect balance from sweet of jasmine and sour from lychee. The taste of hojicha was overpowered by plum wine which is perfect on its own. Green tea and peach is beautifully crafted but it is only good for two fills. A good place to enjoy high tea overall.
From the creators of Chez Dré, this place brings us instant happiness on entry. Rows upon rows of beautiful cakes, macarons and bonbons provided instant aesthetic pleasure, causing eyes too big for stomach syndrome.
As we arrived soon after opening, we had our choice of seats and made the most of the salon style armchairs at the back. A friendly server helped us make difficult decisions (but we want to eat so many things!) and soon our orders were in.
The petits gâteaux arrived and there was no avoiding overtime for the camera. Exquisite presentation on the outside and artisan skills to produce the quality layers on the inside. We tried the Plum and Hojicha, Mango, Yuzu and Coconut and Black Forest. Sweet but well balanced flavours gave each cake a memorable taste. The base was just substantial enough to offset each component in the mousse portion. The Mango, Yuzu and Coconut one was superb! Many reviews commented on the attention to detail so I probably looked more closely than normal and found many imperfections, but none were important enough to dent our pleasure.
Very impressed by every part of today's experience, from the food and tea to the service and decor. It totally deserves its reputation in Melbourne's gastronomy scene and lifts the bar for other competitors.

An awesome dessert shop and everything is amazing. Now I realized the Calia bought cakes from here. All the cakes and chocolate look beautiful and lure me to taste. The best cake for me is Mango youzi and coconut Dome. I would like come more often.
Bibelot has been the no.1 pastry shop I've been to in Melbourne thus far. The craft and care that goes into these desserts, is apparent in the quality of the finished product! Layout of the venue is lovely too, with friendly staff helping to guide through the agony of choice!
We were spoilt for choices here hence decided to go for the tasting platter. Very pretty desserts and they were yummy too. Especially liked the plum and hojicha, jasmine and lychee, and the mango and yuzu cakes. They serve good coffee too.
Mocha coffee is beautiful!
Also the yoghourt and mocha ice is so nice.
I love these adorable desserts. Nice plating and so luxurious entertainment.
Saw the great reviews on Zomato and decided to visit Bibelot. I absolutely love the desert platter as you get to try different desserts in miniature sizes. The desserts are not just cute and pretty but they are super delicious.
Strongly recommend Plum & Houjicha and Jasmine & Lychee. They both have a very elegant taste that words cannot describe.
This place is absolutely amazing and definitely worth a visit!
We had the $30 cake platter. Really great. Quite filling when just 2 of you! Also had the green tea which was amazing (tasted like max Brener!!!!). Really great place for desert
Probably the best place in Melbourne for artisan cakes. There are lots of places that produce nice looking, fine desserts, but often if you look closely you start to see all the sloppy imperfections in the individual cakes. The chefs at Bibelot clearly have great attention to detail and take a lot of care in making sure the cakes are just as good up close as they do from afar.
Beautiful colours and good use of fine patisserie techniques, the flavours of the cakes are also very well balanced. I used to really like their banana and Ghana milk chocolate cake which had about 10 different, exquisite layers in a slice, but sadly they have stopped producing that particular cake (please bring it back!). My current favourite is the hazelnut flavoured cake, along with their hazelnut ice cream which features the same crunchy chunks of hazelnut crumb as in their cake. At their current price of $10.50 for their cakes, it's not exactly cheap, however when you consider many other speciality patisseries charge similar prices for their cakes, I would frankly only come here when I'm in the mood for one of these.
Service is generally friendly, though at times we have experienced staff being less than attentive or friendly. Ambience is quite nice and modern but it can get crowded on weekends which does make it a bit noisy and bustling.
Bibelot is reaching that ‘old favourite’ status amongst sweet tooths for reliably delicious and interesting chocolates and pre-made desserts. Definitely worth a visit if you’re hanging around the South Melbourne market or one of the many cafes in the area. There’s much to try but the mango and yuzu dome and the hazelnut praline crunch have been winners in the past.
What a fantastic little cafe and dessert place for all sweet tooth’s near and far! The set up is beautiful with gorgeous, comfortable bright modern provincial furniture. The desserts alone are amazing and so worth the trip along with all their gifts and chocolate packs to browse whilst there.
Great service, beverages and food!

Dessert much more than just sweet. Passion fruit tart comes with the natural sour and bitter balanced by the a bit of solid rock salt crunchy in the mouth. The apple tart is amazing with the smell and taste of real apple. Inside the desert is real fruit balanced with light cream; light on the stomach and healthy... not the standard cake that's got lots of sugar. Full of heart and skill.
Bibelot is known for their sweets. Located in South Melbourne, finally had the chance to try it. The place was spacious and had modern decor. Tried their strawberry & honey oat gelato. It was a bit too sweet, and tasted artificial, it tasted more like strawberry syrup. The dessert platter was quite a good value, if you want to try a bit of everything.
This place is the solution to all your sweet tooth cravings! Every single creation is an absolute masterpiece, so gorgeous! And their ice cream is to die for 💕💕
It was love at first bite. Jasmine Tea & Lychee Gateaux + Salted Caramel Macaron did it for me.
Their chilli hot chocolate (limited special) was divine, please bring this back!
I don't have much to say but you should go here and eat as much as you can. I loved that they offered the mini dessert set so you could sample all the desserts they had. Unfortunately they don't have a descriptions of the desserts you're eating unless you walk up to the front and read the bigger version description, nevertheless we enjoyed guessing what we were eating. Just come here and eat please.
the mango yuzu jelly and jasmine lychee cakes were absolutely delicious! super smooth texture, perfect amount of sweetness and mango tang in the mango cake and a nice hint of jasmine tea in the lychee cake. so, so delish
We ordered a set so we could try more cakes. The cakes looked pretty and tasted really nice. I liked the Jasmine tea &lychee (the blue one) most! Definitely will come back here again.
This is a small boutique specialised in chocolates and desserts situated very close to the South Melbourne Market.
I had an almond milk hot chocolate and the hazelnut praline crunch. The service was very good, very attentive people and the desserts very delicious as well. I played very simple this time but I’ll try something more sophisticated in the future.
I would recommend this place if you are looking for some sweet treat or just want to grab something to take way.
The dessert platter was amazing and consists of green tea dome, mango yuzu dome, macaron, delicate chocolate, cupcake, berry cake and more. Fresh flavours and great combination to activate your palate!
Decadent is the only way I can describe Bibelot. Beautifully presented desserts along with an impressive selection of icecreams-both dairy and sorbets. Quite enjoyed the pistachio and raspberry and choc chip flavours. Yum!
Staff are super friendly and gelato/cakes are super tasty ☺️ They’re very willing for you to try different flavours before choosing your favourite 👌🏽 worth a try if you’re in the area!
Best gelato ever! What else is there to say? The flavours are so unique and just yummy! And you can warm chocolate poured into your cone so when you get to the end of your icecream you just get a mouthful of delicious chocolate! So good!
Love love love always great and fresh. Come here all the time. My daughter loves it she always walks out covered in chocolate and a huge smile
Super super super delicious! My ultimate fav is the salted butter caramel eclair - to die for! The hazelnut praline crunch is also great too.
This place is a must!!!
Hot chocolate真的是必点!长这么大第一次喝这么好喝的热巧克力!!!不喝后悔!!!!
Great place for a cheeky treat
Venue was large and spacious that caters for different occasions; casual work session, Sunday brunch dessert etc.
Great variety of desserts that aren’t too sweet and aren’t too nutty but of which have their own identity and unique flavour.
After our lunch at South Melbourne Market, we walked a short distance before we found Bibelot which we came especially for its dessert - a platter of 9 mini-desserts. Although not everyone of them was perfect, I enjoyed most of them. (I should say, everyone has a different taste. There must have at least one which appeals to you.)
N.S. My cappuccino was exceptionally good.

Absolutely delicious cakes here!!!
Came in for a coffee and cake whilst mother in law was visiting, and she was gobbed smacked on how beautiful the cakes were😍 and so was I!!! It such a pleasure with the aroma of desserts in the air we really did enjoy it here and I highly recommend that you come visit at least once 😁
For a different type of cake for the office birthday this is the place to go.
Choices of varying sizes and tastes, the cakes were enjoyed by all at the office. Will be back to enjoy some more of their scrumptious desserts.
Lovely little cafe situated in South Melbourne.
Delicious variety of dessert, beautifully presented.
If you’re after a sit down cafe location for some mouth watering dessert then you should come and visit Bibelot.

If you are a sweet tooth then I recommend you to check this gem. It’s located near South Melbourne market. Their cake and macaroon varieties are amazing, as well as their gelato. Definitely a must try in Melbourne!!!
Loved the chai latte!
Had the Hazelnut Praline Crunch it was quite sweet but went down a treat with coffee. Service was great and easy parking
Heard a lot about Bibelot but never had a chance to try it after it separated from Chez Drez cafe next door.
The place was packed on weekend afternoon. You will immediately attracted by those delicate cakes displayed at the glass counter! They change the flavours quite often and always have creative flavours to surprise you.
Personally I preferred lighter and fruit based cakes. So we ended ordering #plum &Hojicha# and #lychee&Jasmine#. The technices were great, you can tell from the apperence of the cakes as well as the details of decoration, tempered chocolate and mirror glazing. Once you cut the cake, clear separation of different layers and elements exposed and create different textures in one single bite. The creamy and smooth mousse just melt in your mouth. Strong but pleasant fragrance of lychee, jasmine kicked in and remine for the whole time. The slightly sour plum pruee added extra kick to the nice Hojicha cake and everything balanced well.
The most important thing is all the cakes are not overly sweet, at least the ones I tried.
Bibelot didn’t disappoint me. It will be my go-to place for great cakes and afternoon tea time. If you are not in a hurry, recommend to wait for table service and have a quite corner to enjoy these delicious sweet treats.
Fantastic selections of desert. The ambiance of the cafe is also great and makes you want to stay there for a while. The cakes have unique ingredients and visually very attractive. They make you want to try all of them. They have a tasting plate where you can taste the mini version of their cakes. Their coffee and chocolate drink are also nice
Food and beverages are always superb quality and delicious. I recommend you avoid peak hours or book a table for a comfortable and stress free experience, things can get quite chaotic and the staff struggle to coordinate service and seating.
Seating arrangement is not well coordinate, quite messy as there is a “free seating” area and a tea room area with allocated seating.. if u want to have your food comfortably recommend that you call & book the tea room area..
desserts are overall good and not too sweet.. tasting plate portions are good for sharing between 2 persons.. it was beautiful and very instagrammable..
I COULD MARRY TO THIS SHOP LITERALLY - this is how I feel every time I have dessert there.
When I was there the first time, I was a bit shocked at the limited options of pastry, but then I understood that if a store is capable of providing amazing sweets, it doesn't need much to prove how good it is.
The last time I was there with friend, we decided to have the Gourmandise Board without a second thought since I've been eager to try every single item I can see in the display window. And it was just awesome as I expected, or more than I expected. I'm never a fan of lychee and passion fruit in pastry, but how Bibelot combines them into the sweets is just beyond words.
Got this cake for my birthday, it was like a big version of Ferraro Rocher but even tastier. Everyone said it’s so yummmm. Pricey but worth buying (;
Great selection of cakes, chocolates, ice cream and biscuits.
Open until 10pm on a Sat night, but there will be only a small selection left if you are heading there after dinner.
Excellent hot chocolate 64% dark.
Couldn’t decide on which cake to have so ordered their board and a small cheesecake. They were beautiful both in appearance and taste. Highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely come back for the other cakes in the future.
The food is gorgeously presented and taste really good. Unlike some other places where it's all about the looks, the flavours are fantastic! The staff are polite and ridiculously pleasant. Coffee is delicious, could drink it by the bucket load. Can't wait to come back!
Amazing and tasty dessert in this little shop. All the desserts and instagram worthy and taste good. Note: their chocolates are worth it too. A bit pricey but worth every penny!
Nice interior with clean and minimalist design. Friendly and helpful shopkeepers. The drinks are not too sweet but kept the original flavour of the drinks. The whole experience is nice and will certainly come back for the cake !
This dessert shop serves ice cream, sorbet, cakes, chocolates, macaroon, and various others too. The ice creams are great and they do gave generous portion. Will definitely come back again next time to try their cake. Plenty of space to sit inside and some outside.
Amazing desserts cafe. Loved the vibe and coffee. Will visit again and try the other desserts. Macaroons looked good too but didnt try this time. Gotta leave something for next time.
The show-stopping array of gorgeous cakes – with glossy mirror glazes and wisps of gold leaf – transfixes everyone that enters Bibelot. It is a glowing tribute to high-end classic French patisserie, but with a modern twist.
The menu includes cakes, macarons, chocolates and biscuits, but on this visit we sampled Bibelot’s gelato. Generous servings, gorgeous flavours and smooth velvety textures. Extra special mentions for the mandarin and yuzu sorbet, and the passionfruit sorbet.
And for those who can’t decide on a cake, Bibelot’s Gourmandise Board has a tempting selection of mini gateaux. We love the mandarin, coconut and yuzu petit gateau.
The dessert here looks like a work of art rather than actual dessert. Their presentation is quite spectacular. I had the sample board that consists of 9 of Bibelot’s best. They all tasted as wonderful as they look.
Ordered the hazelnut praline crunch, and it’s simply divine! Not too sweet and it’s just lovely. Also bought the death by chocolate pastry and it’s really not that nice as the pastry is hard. So probably would only recommend their cakes as they look gorgeous and taste good too.
Place is clean and spacious, has a great feel to it.
Had the mango and yuzu cake a while ago and it was good. The sorbet and ice cream are quite sweet though in my opinion. The presentation is great over all - ideal as presents.
On the way to South Melbourne Markets and @BibelotSouthMelbourne caught my eye. An array of sweet treats from gelato, a cafe, desserts and hand made chocolates. I got the following:
Mango, yuzu, coconut dome - caramelised coconut cremeux, yuzu creme, peanut streusel, mango mousse
Jasmine & Lychee - Jasmine tea mousse, lychee compote, raspberry sponge, sake jelly
Delicious creations, very delicate, soft and smooth, not too sweet, letting the flavours shine through.

AMAZING! Honestly I wish I could rate 100000 stars. By far the best fine deserts I’ve had in Melbourne. Perfectly done and not overly sweet. Me and my family love this place now and will be coming back every week as a regular customer that’s for sure. Customer service was outstanding too. Thank you so much! Well done.
It would be even better if they can make the cakes less sweet. And also the hand dryer in the toilet is sooooo loud...😂😂
