Had the $49 banquet. Everything was tasty... good value and super yummy. Highly recommend.
Visited here on NYE, which could be a reason the service was a little slower. However, the food was superb. Another great accidental Halal find while we were in the area.
Solid Lebanese south of the yarra. Za’atar Calamari a highlight
This place has really good food! Fresh, amazing sense aroma and just delicious! I would reckon, the waiters need to be more proactive as they tend to pass by you and not give any attention after calling several times!
Love everything about this restaurant. Authentic Lebanese food. Full of flavour, ambience cosy but spacious, welcoming but funky. Great service! Love the wine list (excellent Rosè) 👌
Love love love this place! Fantastic! Consistently delicious tasty food! Highly recommend! Have been here for dinner a few times and each time it was so yum!
Absolutely delicious food and great service! We had an amazing evening with our table of 10! We had the banquet and it was so filling and the timing between courses was perfect!
Amazing Lebanese restaurant. I have been there few times. Very tasty food and Lebanese coffee.
My favourite appetisers are cheese cigars, Fatosh, tabula, batata hara and van leaves. From the main dishes, Samaka hara and Kufta are outstanding!!
Zarouna is really an awesome Lebanese restaurant in South Yarra. Just near to Chapel Street over Toorak Road. The restaurant has a magical atmosphere with candles inside colourful glasses on all the tables. A fireplace makes it more comfy. Now the food... at first glance, we were bit puzzled but ultimately could order a Lebneh dip, Chicken Fateh, Shish Tawouk and Mahalabieh dessert.
The Lebneh dip was not unusual in taste but the snacks they served was good. But the next three dishes was undoubtedly superb. Chicken Fateh is a dish with chick peas in some white sauce and Shish Tawouk is chicken skewers with a beautiful lemony and ginger touch. Last but not the least, the rice pudding called Mahalabieh was a great sweet item to end the day. Overall a good 5/5.
Had a booking for a Saturday night for 25 people. Service was outstanding, food was amazing and the vibe was perfect. We all had the banquet and vegetarians were well looked after too. We will definitely be going back. Thank you Zurouna for a great night!
really good, fresh traditional Lebanese food. Nice venue. friendly, somewhat inefficient service but the great food and friendliness made up for it
It was Sunday evening, great day for going out to a restaurant with the family, we pick up zurouna, the food was great and fresh, awasome atmospher, just the service was really slow due short of stuff, all I'm all it was great experience, highly recommended😃
Really good authentic Middle-Eastern food - mainly Lebanese. Service was friendly and efficient too. Decor is simple and modern, nothing special. Will definitely be back when I have my Lebanese food cravings!
We had the set menu, and wow just amazing. The service was great and so friendly. We had no idea what was coming so ate too much from the starter, because they were so delicious, and then one and one dish just kept coming. The dessert blew our mind, so pretty. It tasted well with the coffee together. We left with no room in our stomachs.😂 Highly recommend.

@zurouna- This was the first time we went to this restaurant. It’s authentic Middle Easyern food leaning towards the Lebanese mainly.
The staff were friendly and the food was served really quickly, seems like a really popular place. My partner tried the Lebanese beer which is like a Pilsner and thought it really complimented the food!
The food was great, I got my Arabic fix which I miss from growing up in Dubai.
I would definitely go back again!
I think I have got a crush on one of the staff members! That might have factored into my rating :) Good food, fairly priced.Nice vibes overall. No surprises.
Beautiful food and service! The decor could use an upgrade but we had a delightful experience here. The meat is cooked perfectly and there is so much flavour in all the meals, including a plain rice! Will definitely be back.
Took the missus out for her birthday cause I've heard good things about this place.
It's a nice venue. And the staff are lovely.
Food came out relatively quickly and had great flavours. Wasn't a huge fan of the cabbage rolls though. Don't think anyone makes them as good as mama does!
Worth the visit.
Amazing food. Incredible service. Fantastic staff. Each time, Every time!!
Definitely recommend the banquet - best way to get a decent taste of the whole menu, and so cost effective
Totally brilliant! Amazing food and the staff were wonderful and attentive.
We had 3 small plates and a main all to share ( the Egg plant& pomegranate salad a must try) lamb and Halloumi followed by the Grilled prawns..
Finished with coffee and Turkish delight .
Great atmosphere... Highly Recommend 😊
Fantastic atmosphere with equally amazing food. Great range of dishes and exceptional service.
Perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon with someone special.
Small but busy restaurant with delicious food and friendly attentive helpful staff. The banquet is excellent value and the desserts are to die for.
One of the best places for middle eastern cuisine in Melbourne.
excellent service, excellent food. do not forget to try Za'tar Calamari dish.
Atmosphere: Came on a hot sunday arvo for lunch in a group. Besides two other people dining outside the place was empty. Spacious seating both inside & out. Nicely set-up inside. Given that it was a hot day, air-con should have been on, however it wasn't which made eating slightly uncomfortable due to the heat.
Service: Friendly, however could be more attentive. The only time we saw the waitress+waiter/owner? was when we were being served food otherwise they were not in clear sight which made it hard to seek refills for water/order drinks, etc. Food came out consistently well in time except the mains/meats which took a while to be served.
Food: Ordered the zurouna banquet. Everything was nice & none of us left hungry. Basically you get one of everything i.e one falafel, one lamb cigar, one meat skewer, one chicken skewer etc. Meat was cooked really well.
Price: Pricey although one must consider the location.
Overall, nice experience. Would recommend.
Great food & service. Really enjoyed a lovely meal, staff were very attentive. The Moroccan lamb was full of flavour, loved the complimentary baklava, definitely will be back soon.
This place is so good. The food was amazing and it's great to share. We had the Moroccan lamb and Shish something or other chicken. A great combo for sharing. Good service and great atmosphere.
Lovely place to take a date, we had a banquet and it was amazing. Portions are generous and customer service was great. Would highly recommend
The calamari dish is the best way to eat calamari known to man. It is generous, tender, slightly charred, with a light squeeze of lemon adding just the right amount of acid. Lovely peppery rocket salad with pomegranate was the perfect addition.
The salatat el raheb was amazing. I've never eaten a dish like it but it was very fresh and just delicious.
The vegetable tagine was also lovely but next time I would try the lamb instead.
Would definitely recommend this place for a healthy, flavoursome and social meal.
First visit with the family to zurona on sunday night, the food was nice and fresh, the stuff were attentive and welcoming, on the negative side it took a long time for the main to arrive, which was understanding due to short in stuff . All in all was great experiences
Location is good, the design is great, service very attentive and food quality was of a high standard. 7 people with food and plenty of drinks at $700, so price is standard for an upperclass middle eastern restaurant. Definitely recommended
Excellent food! Best Middle Eastern food I've tasted in Melbourne so far. Food is always fresh and full of flavour. It's 100% authentic and it's clear the food is made with love. The only down side is its a bit expensive but I'm sure rent on Toorak Rd is high. Take away is cheaper though which is a great option.
After hearing Zurouna being spoken of very highly and deemed 'the best authentic Lebanese restaurant' in Melbourne we decided it was worth trying on a Sunday evening. We knew we were off to a good start when we found a park right on Zurouna's doorstep on bustling Toorak road. The menu had all your Middle eastern favourites - kibbeh, lamb cigars, kafta, baba ghanoush. The bread bowl features fresh pita and deep fried which was interesting. The food was very good - great presentation, beautiful flavours, lots of soothing yoghurt. Unfortunately, i wouldn't say it was anything spectacular. Food also comes out quite fast which can feel a bit rushed. However, what lets this place down is its service. We felt we were being circled by vultures of waiters just waiting to remove a plate from the table the moment our hands retreated ever so slightly from a dish - even though there was plenty of room on the table! A few times waiters asked if they could clear away a plate from which we were clearly still eating from. At least they asked instead of just taking as happens at other places I guess!
A hidden gem in Melbourne. Great ambience complimented by yummy food. The portions are decent and presentation immaculate. This is now on my list of favourites. Will definitely come back here again.
100% my favourite place to eat out. No regrets with their banquet. You've gotta try it, you'll leave so full and content. The flavours are so amazing. Fresh too!
I had a beautiful birthday dinner here - we got the banquet plus a bottle of Lebanese wine and cocktails. Service was wonderful and the meal was plentiful. We left feeling very satisfied. The dessert platter was gorgeous. Can't wait to come back
The food was great. Service needs improving though. We were still eating our entrees when the mains came out at the same time. Very strange. By the time we finished the mains, after we had a break, they were cold which was disappointing. Hopefully this was a once off mistake.
Love love loveee this place! The food is excellent, the Shish tawouk ( which actually one of my favorite dishes ever) and the hummus was super! Perfect atmosphere, staff, BYO! And great portions.
We ordered a range of entrees as well as mains. Every dish was exceptional, made to authenticity. The freshness of the ingredients came through in the myriad of flavors and the variety of menu options was impressive. Highly recommend!
Very enjoyable food and varied menu. Wonderful flavours and generous serves. Loved the dips, fresh and flavoursome with very generous serve of breads and crispy bread . The Lamb Tagine was the highlight of our dining experience. Lively setting made for an enjoyable evening out with friends.
selected ingredients,and good services!
the sausages r mixed with various herbs. and the dessert plate tastes lovely!such a mouthwatering restaurant located in a small balcony. K n T had great time there;)
Amazing middle eastern food...servings are small but food is delicious! Went with a group of six and everything was beautiful. Service was great...place was packed out..
We love this place. Authentic middle eastern and modern cuisine. We booked the place for our wedding and tried it successfully beforehand. Not a thing to disappoint. A very pleasant and fulfilling dinning experience with authentic middle eastern dishes. Worth a visit
Amazing food and service!
Zurouna is great value for money and their food is always tasty (definitely get the calamari and lamb kofte). They're also great for group bookings. Service is friendly and attentive. Overall a great quality restaurant!
Mid-high price range of Middle Eastern food with a homely taste but good value. Managed to get a last minute table for 4 on a Friday night at 8pm.. Happy that we did.
Staff were attentive and were prompt despite claiming to be 'understaffed'. The food was presented really well and was home-style dishes.
The lamb skewers were the best which we got in the mixed grill. A delicious must try. Overall the portions were good for the price.
Dessert platter completely worth it - came with baklava, fairy floss, halva and turkish delight for all 4 of us.
Cons - Noisy environment + echo. Did not help with what seemed to be a hen's night at the next table.
Hmmm, what can I say about this meal. It reminds me of the time I was climbing a mighty mountain in Alaska. When we got to the top we have a captivating and breathtaking view of the world. I was truly speechless. This meal reminded me of the feeling I was there. I highly recommend this restaurant and if I ever have a last meal, this would be in my top 3
Compliments to the chef and a round of applause to the waiters.
Zero in on Zurouna. This Middle Eastern place has only been around for a year or two, but it's a very welcome addition to the inner south, even more so since B'Stilla morphed into the completely different Enquire Within.
No booking for a weekend dinner was no problem - my friend and l walked in and found a free table on the outdoor terrace. We received menus and water quickly, but it took us a while to decide because it was all so appealing. We did pass on the $45 banquet because both of us have been to enough places like Zurouna to know that neither of us could manage that much food this time. Paired with a lovely prosecco and another glass of red, all the tastebud tingling came to $123 before tip. I did look longingly at the Turkish delight and filo cigars - perhaps dessert first next time.
Our deliberation on our choices led to a luscious grilled eggplant with perfect pomegranate seeds, a luxuriously smooth dips platter with crunchy pickled vegetables, tender calamari tendrils, and possibly the best tabbouleh l have ever eaten.
Service was very prompt and hospitable, although it took a few goes to get our bill - a very minor quibble. I'm wishing l was back there now!
Great service with friendly staff. Ambience was very good with middle eastern music playing and an open setting. Food was amazing. Will be visiting again.
My goodness! Just arrived back home from my Lebanese food fix. It was sensational. Hospitality fantastic, food to die for and the atmosphere perfect. Thanks all. I feel whole again!James.
Zurouna: A word meaning visit us- implying in this context to drop in and indulge in a delicious meal. Fantastic location, excellent service and warm hospitality, fresh and tasty food. Been here several times for the banquets with larger group functions, was never disappointed. There is a variety of banquet sizes ranging from meze to full dinners plus sea food. High lights for me here are every entree dish, the lamb cigars and Kibbie are addictive, the fatoush salad is amazing topped with the crispy toasted flat bread! The dessert platters are stunning and exotic. Some of the finest middle eastern dining experience in Melbourne. Truly fit for a sultan! : ) keep up the great work Zurouna!
Elegant place
Good quantity for two ( mixed grill. Fatoush. Hommos)
But expensive (51 dollar)
The restaurant was empty when we arrived (12 pm) the service was fast and the food arrived in no time.
I recommend this restaurant.. one of the best middle eastern restaurant i tried.
Really enjoyable experience. The food was great, the setting atmospheric and the service very adept. Try the haloumi and the vegetable tagine. There's plenty here for vegetarians.
Loved this place!
Great atmosphere!
We trialled a few dishes and were very impressed!
The desserts were beautiful!
Would certainly go back and recommend to friends!
Wow, what a find. Our party of four loved it here. Beautiful fresh tasty modern Lebanese food. We couldn't fault it for taste, value and service. Everything was good - tabouleh, felafel, eggplant with pomegranate, vine leaves, calamari, etc, etc - topped off with the desert tasting plate and a coffee. Really lovely flavours and so nicely prepared and presented. We thought it was very reasonably priced and such good value. The service was very pleasant and efficient. We also liked the fit out of the restaurant. Bravo. Loved it. We're aiming to return very soon.
Had dinner there last night and the food was exceptional very authentic Lebanese flavors with an uplifted modern style balanced well together , besides a friendly service Zurouna got it all done , will definitely recommend it and will be back soon
I had banquet mezza- $55pp and was pleased with the range of dishes served. Food is fresh and yummy. Service is great and friendly.
Seating inside does gets noisy but outside is good however in winter seating outside is a challenge.
Still highly recommend.
Love this place!!!! my favourite restaurant. Having lived in the middle east for 10 years...I love the food here..fresh , authentic and the owner is warm and welcoming. They made a veg option for my parents who are veegterian which was great!!!
Nice food, great service. Very happy with the food, dips, mains and specially the delights. Been there two times; Both times every thing was great. We recieved a gret service. Also, in love with the Arabic coffee.
Dropped in.. As invited by their website we "dropped in" after an early evening film at the Como over the road. A balmy evening so we sat outside. Initially a bit anxious because other groups inside were finishing up, and it took a while for the waitress to realise we were thirsty and ready to order. We tried the lamb dishes -- lamb kafta and the casserole Moroccan lamb. Both dishes were very tasty without being over spiced. Plenty of choices of wines by the glass. Will drop in again for the full experience next time.
Great food but Poor Service. I was looking forward to my meal here after reading the rave reviews. I have to admit the service could have been more warmer. The waitress was too grumpy and mean in her response when i asked her if we could have one more chair as there was another friend coming to dinner. The restaurant wasn't even busy and I couldn't fathom as to why it would have been such an issue. Despite that the food was delicious! They were all well cooked and presentation was lovely. All my friends loved the flavours in the dishes. We would have stayed for dessert if it wasn't for the way we were treated initially.
Amazing food!! I'm of Lebanese decent and the food is better than my mum has ever cooked. My mother is an outstanding cook, the food is just that good!!!
One of the best places for Middle Eastern/labanees food. Different fantastic dishes. MUST try.
Delicious. A little pricey, but worth it. Went there with 2 friends, and had the dip platter, cauliflower, & falafel as entrees. Ordered lamb cutlets on ratatouille, kafta (lamb), and calamari as mains. ALL of these dishes were a delight. Bravo, we are definitely coming back.
Fantastic food, delicate flavours, elegant interior too, had a great lunch sitting outside.
Excellent!
Absolutely excellent food and service. Wine list could be improved.
Great food and great service!
Food was really great, service was fantastic. Very friendly staff. Highly recomended.
Loved the variety on the set menu, went here with a group of friends on a Saturday night, great food and atmosphere!
Excellent food and service was good to. Lots if good quality food and some of the best mezze. Well done we will be back
Really great tasting Lebanese food. The banquet was fresh with a lot of variety. I was really full after the meal. Ive been back a second time and the food was consistently good.
Delicious!. The food is here is so tasty!! Went here with 3 friends before watching a film, the food came out quickly and it had fantastic middle eastern flavours. Will be back!!
Amazing middle eastern best ive ever had by far! Great value / will definitely be back
One of my favorite places. This restaurant is really great , very tasty food and great service , please stay the same and keep your high standards zurouna.
Great location on a warm night, got lots of dishes to share, all tasty. Calamari a highlight. Probably on the pricey side for serving sizes but a good place to go with a group. Service efficient but perhaps a little much so?
Turkish Delight!. Came here on a Saturday night, no need for a reservation but the place as buzzing! Seated and were brought drinks quickly. Exfcellent menu and although I was tempted by the banquet ($45 p.p incl Turkish coffee) but opted for the chicken kebabs with a side of almond rice. Himself got the Chicken tagine. I really enjoyed the kebabs, I got 3 and they were full of flavour! Wasnt so keen on the tagine, a bit bland? The prices here are so reasonable too, an added bonus!
Didnt opt for dessert as we were too full but they sounded amazing
Came here in a group of 14 for lunch today.
The decor was great, the service was good and the food was impeccable!
For our appetizers we ordered Hommus and Moutabal dips with pita, and sesame falafels. The falafels were cooked and seasoned to perfection, and the dips were delicious.
For my main I had Shish Tawouk which is marinated chicken breast with garlic and lemon, served with rice and salad. The chicken was tender and flavorful and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I also tried the Kafta Halabi which was also great.
The only thing that I would suggest is some background music to add to the ambience of the restaurant.
I would definitely come back again, the whole group enjoyed the food and experience.
The food was so delicious and the staff are really sweet too. I highly recommend and will definitely be coming back. Nice to eat somewhere that is not hipster but actually has excellent food instead of bearded baristas.

Wow! Yum yum yum!! Amazing and authentic lebanese food. Great setting also. Banquet was delicious and generous servings! Can't wait to return!
Oh wow! This place took me back to the Middle East, the food is delicious and so authentic. The music was spot on. At times when it’s hard to travel, this place took me back to Beirut and it’s beautiful food. The staff was very friendly supportive. Each food item was better than the one before. An advice order many different items and share them all with who ever you are eating with. Lebanese food is made for sharing. Lots of vegetarian options too.
The cherry on top was a delicious baclava dessert as a gift.. felt just at home.
Thank you for this amazing dinner.
Well I am writing this review as we wait for room in our stomach's to fit in dessert. This place is a blast, friendly staff, great atmosphere, plenty of sharing dishes to try. Ask the staff for their recommendations and each dish was a hit. Highly recommended. Fresh, tasty and healthy! The air conditioning is surviving a 39 degree day!
We were very unimpressed by this place from the start. We had made reservations for 5 only to arrive to find that there was no table for us. They didn’t have our reservation. Also, we could only order the set menu and were not informed of that when we made our reservation. It seemed very unprofessional and the staff also seemed to be a mess.
We got lucky with our server. She was a Iraqi girl on her first day there and was super helpful, attentive, and kind.
The restaurant has a nice and classy vibe to it and is well decorated.
The food was delicious. By far the best Arabic food I’ve had in Australia. Everything tasted right and homemade. This is coming from an Arab. The portions were generous as well (they better have been considering how much we were paying per person haha).
Comfortable and inviting space on busy Toorak Road, where you can have authentic Lebanese cuisine made only with the freshest and highest quality produce and ingredients
Delicious Lebanese cusine, lamb cooked to perfection, calamari was also fantastic. Rustic wholesome tastes, highly recommended, service was warm and friendly.
