Had our Engagement party here and it was amazing. Sophie (event coordinator) was great. Only had an issue with the music not being loud enough due to their music license. Guests had a ball, food was great and the staff were awesome.

Went to a wedding at The Mint and it was the most lovely and relaxing event. Great staff and service, very accommodating.
The food was outstanding! My partner and I shared a range of tapas for dinner. The service was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. Will definantly be coming here again on our next trip to Melbourne.

Met a couple of old friends here for lunch and was greeted by a friendly smile on entry - good start. The server read out the day's specials as we couldn't see the board before taking our orders ahead of the lunchtime crowd.
My confit duck leg was sweet and tender. With almond and parsnip puree, Madeira jus, orange and thyme breadcrumbs and a couple of broccolini, the succulent poultry was beautifully paired with the scrumptious mash. My friends also enjoyed their braised beef and mushroom pie and the enormous chicken parmigiana. Staff were accommodating and offered to swap my friend's chips for salad when he detected the disinclination for oil and carbs.
Comfortable, spacious seating with light streaming through the windows gave this space a pleasant but casual atmosphere. The outdoor beer garden looks inviting on a balmy day. This was a good experience that deserves better than the current rating average.
Great ambience and service. The price is reasonable and their food is quite nice. The place also has a beer garden which is good for drinks with friends.

Recently hosted dinner for a special occasion for about 40 ppl and I have to say am very impressed and the guests all had a great time! It is the right place if you are thinking about functions.
The staff are very friendly and professional and they delivered everything single thing according to the plan. I already love the the garden feel and the staff put white linens and barriers and just made the dining area so cozy and beautiful! There was no single mistake with the food or drinks delivered and they keep checking on us.
The weather wasn't so pleasant it was pouring and cold and dark, But with the heaters and lights on it creates a special atmosphere and I felt it couldn't be more perfect. I didn't try the food before booking this place but apparently my guests likeDthe foodespecially those who ordered steak. The salmon I ordered however is a bit blend but I guess I was way too excited to taste anything anyway! I only had 2 options to choose from the dessert menu which is a bit limited.
Overall we all had a great time. This place is just fantastic THANK YOU VERY MUCH for making a memorable night for us! Great job guys!
It was fantastic, friendly staff, great tasting and yummy food, was in medium price range. But there was a spider near to ladies, but staff dealt with it professionally but I'm unsure if they were able to capture it, but was well handled.
I believe I may be back again.

They have an impressive beer garden which is great place to to hang out, grab a bite and have a few drinks on warm days. Went there for the $15 Wednesday steak special tonight and it was pretty good value. The salad was plentiful, chips were okay and the steak itself was juicy and tender. Although there were some fatty parts in the meat, you can't really complain when it's only $15. Will come back again for another weeknight special :)
The Mint is really more of a beer garden and pub than a restaurant; and from the writer's experience, seems to be a popular local watering hole for many of the lawyers and court employees in the building opposite. On Wednesdays, they have a great steak deal; namely, a scotch fillet with salad and potato wedges for a measly sum of $14 (at the time I visited). You order at the bar and get a table number. My scotch fillet done medium-rare was excellent; well-seasoned and tasty and melt-in-your-mouth juicy and tender, though it did have a little fat and gristle which isn't to everyone's taste. It was well-balanced with a tangy salad of rocket and tomato. The wedges were also freshly made and not of the frozen variety - so another big tick. Service is friendly, though the outdoor area could do with warmer heating during winter. All in all, it's a great deal and good value for money.
Nice pub style place. We had the Chicken Parma's which were okay. Good size and nice salad but the chips need improving. Beer of the month was Cascade first harvest which my boyfriend got very excited about!
Came here for lunch with work colleagues during the busy lead up to christmas. Everything was fantastic - especially the salmon special
I eat here a lot because it's close to work and there's a warm outdoor area. The food isn't amazing, but there's not much to complain about either. The chicken wings are my favourite and their desserts are amazing!

FANTASTIC!. This place is just fantastic! I booked a surprise birthday dinner here & from the moment I booked a table the service was spot on. BUT what people like to hear about most is the food, & this was nothing short of AMAZING!! A lot of people opted for the steaks & chicken parmas, although these seem to be a standard meal, places still get it wrong, but The Mint did not disappoint, majority saying it was the best they'd ever had! We had the dips, crumbed lime prawns, lamb pizza & gnocchi. The gnocchi was the best I’d ever had hands down!! & a big thank you to the staff for making us feel so welcome, they even brought out the cake, cut it & served it!!
Pizzas are awesome. Tried the pizza there. Really good. It takes its time to come out of the kitchen, but the texture, finishing and taste was really great.
Great place for a CBD work lunch. I booked a table for eleven people at the last minute and The Mint were great. Although it was cold outside, we didn't feel it as the outdoor heaters worked amazingly. The variety of food was impressive. There really was something for everyone. It was enjoyable and well priced. It was conveniently located for a CBD work lunch and the service was prompt. To top it off, they gave us some complimentary brownies for dessert as they knew we were celebrating. Such a great experience. I hHighly recommend!
A cut above. Been there a few times now (although not on a Friday night), and always had a good experience. The steak is much better than your average pub steak, and the staff is friendly and efficient.
Loved It. My work mates have been telling me to join them down at The Mint for a while, and last Thursday i decided to check it out, best decision i made all week.
We went there for dinner and the food was all really good.
I went for the traditional parma which was cooked really well, nice big chunk of chicken with the cheese cooked to golden perfection! the chips had a nice rosemary salt on them, something which I had never tried before, and it worked.
A few of the guys had the burger special, I was skeptical so left it to the regulars but it looked pretty damn good and nobody was left hungry or dissapointed.
Staff were all happy and friendly, and the atmosphere is very relaxing with good music playing softly in the background.
Anyway, I really liked it there and will defiantly be going back!
Friday lunch, everyone else has the good old chicken parma but I thought I'd give the Pork Belly a go.
Surprisingly, this was really quite nice. Wonderfully tender pork, on a bed of beans and chorizo. For sure I would order it again. My only minor minor
Who knew?!. While I have been past the Mint quite often as I work in the area and have popped in for the odd drink of an evening, I had never realised how good the food is there! Some colleagues took me for lunch today and I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality - fresh ingredients, generous portions - of the modest yet comprehensive menu. My colleaugues had pizzas (and at $8 why wouldn't you - though that's only on mondays) all of which looked fantastic, an observation which was heartily confirmed by my fellow diners. I, however, just could not go past the Very Slow Roasted Lamb Shoulder, a dish that would bring a tear of joy to Sam Kekovich's eye! I'll be going back for sure!
Little gem.... Came across this gem last week. Well disguised from the street by a heritage facade, this place has one of the better alfresco dining and drinking beer-gardens in Melbourne.I went in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the approachable shared menu. Meals came out in good time and were served by young enthusiastic staff. Typical modern australian pub menu, simple food with a few twists but done well. Wine list has the basics covered and beer list is more food focused. Will definitely be going back, table on the deck was primo and I was advised they take bookings in the dining room. A good casual dinning option.
Go for Drinks. No offence to the previous reviewer but its mint bar, not mint restaurant, and at the end of the day if you are ordering wedges in a restaurant are you in any position to complain. As an after work venue, why you would choose to eat here is beyond me, its fantastic, its an afterwork up market drinks place.
More of a pub than a restaurant but still good. If you want chilled out drinks and standard pub fare, then this place is good. Good beer garden. Bit on the expensive side for what you get but they have good specials.

I went to a wedding here, as well as a NYE bash, and they were both fabulous. Haven't been on a normal saturday night, but I hear its great so will be checking it out soon...
Had wedges and a coffee. Both were good. Wedges serves are huge and deliciously crunchy.

Best Beer Garden in the City. Cosy old world pub, with a couple of fire places. Excellent selection of beers and they do an awesome parma as well. The beer garden is the best in the city. A must for Friday night drinks in summer.
Chilled place for a beer.. I regularly go down to The Mint after work for a beer and I have to say it is one of the most chilled out places in Melbourne for a drink. And on a sunny arvo in the sun the beer garden cannot be beaten. And the food is actually pretty good as well!
Unbelievable place in the city!. The name gives it away. The Mint Bar serves a range of seasonal lunches where the choice of dining indoors will oversees the historical architectural building or the choice of sheltered outdoor dining. Fantastic range of local and international beers including a huge choice of alcohol which are prepared by experienced bartenders. Incredible atmosphere on Fridays.
Best CBD beer garden. The Mint has by far the best beer garden in the Melbourne CBD. Also, they do functions on Sat nights. I had a big birthday bash and the venue and staff were a great hit with all the party goers.
