Review Noisette - Melbourne

J
Today I bought a whole cake, two mini cakes, and a mini apple Denish. The staff are always friendly and nice. I love the cheesecake here.

Love the new interior but doesn’t feel as homey as the old place. Pretty location being just down the road from Port Melbourne beach. Good tasting pastries and bread.
Anisa Anwar
Absolutely loved the coco-rico, just the right amount of sweetness with a bit of tanginess, and a lovely creamy and crumbly texture. The delice pistachio however, unbeknownst to me, had raspberry in it, which I dislike so I couldn't enjoy it much, though it's probably objectively pretty good. The interior of the cafe was really nice and clean, overall an enjoyable place to dine in for a little afternoon break.

The raspberry croissants are a MUST TRY! Amazing coffee and chai! Staff are wonderful and the cafe itself looks incredible post-renovations! Lovely location to grab a coffee + pastry and head down to the water.

Another amazing find for me. Had a chocolate almond croissant and a coffee and it was delicious. Bought a baguette on the way out for my lunch and absolutely beautiful. Will be adding this to my regulars list

Good coffee and service... When the place gets busy the attentiveness drops a bit but the food and coffee make up for it. Toasted sandwiches are very nice too. Also make sure you try the breads as well, I believe these guys bake on premises and also distribute to other cafes.

Awesome bakery serving fresh and tasty treats. 🥐 croissants are freaking good. This is my place to be after a morning ride. Coffee and warm croissant hit the spot ... Every single time.

Loved it. Great cakes and coffee. Customer service great too. Support this Port Melbourne Cafe. All Bay Street shops need your support. Parking great, great area to take a walk.

Amazing place to go for beautiful French desserts, recommend everyone visit this cafe!

Friendly staff, great customer service, and wonderful coffee at the Bentleigh Noîsette Cafe. No delicious treats on this occasion, I’ll be back.
Robyn Poulton
Very special friendly staff, great customer service, the BEST coffee and selection of gateaux. A touch of Paris in the heart of Port Melbourne. Tres bisous

This was my first visit to Noisette in port Melbourne, what a fantastic experience from the delicious food both savoury and sweet to the friendly service.. I highly recommend visiting Noisette

We went to noisette on a Sunday afternoon, there were not many choices on desserts. The almond croissant could have been better - very disappointed.
The restaurant inside had a smell of smoke from the street bypass. But the costumer service was great and the mini chicken baguette was magnificent. The shop said it would close at 5pm, but before 4pm, I realised they started to pack up and clean the puff pastry vitrines- very odd

It's that time of the year with hot cross buns everywhere you look. Managed to get these beautiful buns from Noisette and they have been the best ones I've had this season.

The bun was soft and moist. It was buttery and filled with plump, juicy raisins. It was good enough to eat without any additions.

Happy Easter!

We get cakes for all our office birthdays from Noisette; I think we've almost made our way through the whole list and can confirm they are all amazing- beautifully presented and so delicious!
Service always friendly.
Tommy Hu
Love the vibe here but service and food gets cold when busy.... got an croissant with tomato and cheese where the cheese wasn’t melted halfway and tomatoes were still cold
Jane
Got a pain Au chocolat and two coffees, waited a very long time for my take away coffees, people who had arrived later than me got their coffees before me. After waiting for 15mins they asked me what I ordered again and then proceeded to make my coffees. I didn’t get friendly service but I saw others get friendly service so they were being selective with the clientele. My pastry was also stale. I am disappointed because this place used to be so good.

Everything we bought from this french cafe was yummy but we loved the Portuguese tart and eclair the most.

Place isn't big and always crowded.

Service could have been better....seemed they were in hurry to take the order before we could make-up our mind.
Littlemissyh
The coffee is okay, the pastries are not bad but the baguettes here are great! Last time I was here, I had one with chicken, cranberry and brie and the baguette was so crusty and the filling was delicious.
MsConnoisseur
This is a oldie but a goodie. If in need of a quick bite or a sugar fix they have you covered. Love the pastries at Noisette. They don’t have lots of room and it does look a tad tired decor wise but overall you won’t leave disappointed. My favorite pick is the escagot and a coffee. The staff a super friendly and always very helpful. It’s a little tight on space and no high chairs but I’m always happy for takeaway and a short stroll to the beach
VegoLover
Nice almond hot chocolate and tea but limited vego choice.
Mini plain and almond croissants were ok.
Baguette was a bit hard.
Very busy on weekends.

I am obsessed with French pastries (especially macarons) and was excited to find Noisette. The raspberry macaron was everything a macaron should be; it had a delicate exterior with a smooth and tasty filling. I hate it when you can’t taste the intended flavour in a macaron which was not the case with this one.
The passion fruit tart looked beautiful. The curd was silky and had the right balance of sweet and sour. However, the tart shell was way too hard. I feel like I got an arm workout from trying to break the crust with my fork.
Linda
Our go to bakery! Their bread is particularly fantastic!! Always fresh, great selection and best of all, competitive in pricing! Why spend $5.50 at Coles on an average loaf when you can get some amazing sourdough for the same price?! Obvious call right!!
AaronN
Very nice pastries here. We had a lovely lunch there, service a bit hectic but food was lovely and would definitely come back if in the area.
Christine Stephen
Was quite disappointed with the baguettes I got as they didn’t seem very fresh. Maybe I stumbled in on a bad day but I was also looking forward to buying some of the hazelnut spread they advertised on their website which the server had no idea about. Overall, disappointed.
GoodFood4Me
Intended to have lunch here today with friends but opted for a coffee instead as the pre-prepared rolls were very dry looking and way overpriced. Bought a small container of mini choc chip biscuits for $10.90. Not worth it. Coffee ok. Service ok. Just ok.
RRJosh
Best cafe in Port Melb! Great coffee, beautiful baguettes and sausage rolls are the best. Not to mention the delicious cakes and treats. The staff are lovely and I love coming here every weekend. Merci!
Ivaan Londar
Great coffee. Love the French pastries very good quality. Staff are always excellent even if its hard to understand the thick French accents. Downside, which is a reflection of its popularity, long line ups to get coffee. But you don't wait toooo long. Depends on your level of patience.
Zardoz
All a bit vin ordinare really. Maybe we were just there on an off day. Coffee a bit burnt and made with old milk. Pastries a mixed bag as well. The macarons were the best.
MelbourneMiss
There's no doubt of the quality of the breads and pastries. I am "shut up and take my money" in relation to their olive bread. One of the best things you can ever eat. However the dine-in sandwich experience was just OK. The baguette fillings looked a bit limp and the ham and cheese toasty could have been more toasted. Everything is pre-made around the $10 mark so I wasn't expecting much but it was just so average. Coffee was fine. So - 5 for their breads and pastries, 3 for their dine-in sandwich experience = a 4 overall.

The best French bakery outside of France. I feel absolutely privileged I live around the corner from this magical bakery. All their pastries are baked to perfection and they have and amazing selection of rolls. My absolute favourite treat is the French vanilla infused beignet, it is absolutely heavenly.
The Harsh Critic
Summary:

Food - 2
Drink - N/A
Service - N/A
Pram friendly - yes
Pet friendly - yes

Would I come back - maybe

My hubby takeaway some cakes. He chose a coffee eclair, snow flower and a lemon tart. Coffee eclair was ordinary. The creme does taste like coffee but the puff wasn't too puffy. I had better eclair from Noisette before. The snow flower supposed to be a seasonal product, but I didn't quite like it. Eating the cake with all the layers, still, I could taste mainly the cheesecake at the top with the blackberry cream or mousse layer. The chocolate nibbles were a bit hard. Maybe it has been in the shelf for a few days. Lastly the lemon tart. Must say I'm never a big fan of lemon tart. But the lemon curd was tangy and very curd...it was nice. I would recommend this if you like lemon curd tart. For me, I still prefer the Mont Blanc tart. The chestnut cream is pretty good, along with a bottle of orangina.

Croissants don't get any better than this... and they're cheaper than many stores! Excellent baguettes too...

What's more a chance to practice your French "deux croissant avec beurre et confiture S'il vous plaît"... Sometimes on the 5:45am North Road-Mordialloc-St Kilda bike ride it is the croissants that "get me thru" to the finish line! And they do subscribe to The Australian and The Fin Review which is a bonus ;-)

Probably the best bread and French pastries you can get in all of Melbourne. Amazing French bread and the sweet pastries are on a level with a Parisian cafe. Coffee good and service efficient.
Bopnbeep
I was surprised to find that a local store stocks Noisette pastries and quickly grabbed their last almond croissant. It was delicious and a generous serve. I loved the almond paste filling and crispy pastry although it did get quite sweet towards the end. They say Noisette rivals Lune Croissanterie although I'm yet to battle the Lune queues.
Coco And Vine
Strolling the streets of Port Melbourne, we didn’t expect to stumble upon a traditional French café with a baking history that stretches back to the mid 1800’s. Noisette Café on Bay St. has the flavours and treats you’d find in the streets of Paris and we’ve stuck our head in to quickly sample two of their famous favourites.
Split The Bill
Very busy French cafe serving a large range of pastries, baguette, cakes & coffees. They sell the best macaroons & pastries on Bay street & their coffees are good. To order you need to line up & order at the counter, the line is always long & hopefully be the time you do order there is a table. Seating area is small most tables sit 2, there are tables for 4 outside. Service is always good. We order our birthday cakes here they have a delicious variety that are decorated beauitfully. If you have time, order your birthday cake first thing in the morning or the day before.
John
I have had coffee here which was lovely and most importantly you must try the Croquembouche!

I got one of these for my partners 40th and it was divine. The vanilla custard inside the profiteroles was light and just enough sweetness. Probably a little overboard with the drizzled sugar over the outside as it was too thick! Will definitely try the other goodies
Jerryallright
Good coffee, Nice macarons, the baguette and croissant is on par what you get in Paris. The cakes is beautiful and highest quality. Affordable and for the price you pay is worth it.
FOOD TRIP
Noisette is a beautiful French style bakery in Port Melbourne, great for a rest break for some coffees or pastries. The coffees are average but the pastries and cakes are tasty. Good to have in or takeaway. Prices are on the higher end as bakeries come, but worth checking out. Beautiful selection of macaroons
Gurl With A Belly
I have been to noisette twice now and had two very average experiences. The first time I went, I was extremely disappointed with the pastries as they were stale and tasted awful. Note, I also bought these at 7am in the morning! Second visit, I had the worst service and was ignored by staff when I was the only other customer there. Don't go unless you want average pastries and atrocious service.
Touka K
Nice cosy little French cafe, staff were all smiles and attentive. Port Melbourne beach is within walking distance so takeaway is a nice option for some food with a view should the cafe be a little crowded.

Croissants were freshly baked, light and fluffy, also really enjoyed the lemon tart which had a nice balance of sweetness and tartness, the filling was a beautifully soft texture. Will come here again.
Niki
The pain au raisin was fine, but I waited for 10 minutes for a takeaway coffee and it was awful. More like hot water with a hint of coffee flavour.
Danilo Messias
Terrible costumer service. I ordered a salmon sandwich from the counter and had to wait some 15 minutes until they came and told me that the salmon sandwiches were finished and that I had to order something else. Then it took them another 15 minutes to bring me my order: a sandwich that was already prepared and a coffee.
Plus, I asked my sandwich to be toasted and they forgot. I ended up eating it cold because I didn't want to wait another 15 min. Food was good but nothing special. Not going back there again.

Can be addictive these French inspired stuff ......

Not as well set up as the sister cafe in Bentleigh as it is older, but just as cozy.

Had their Prosciutto Baguette with a Soy Latte and a few of their cakes to take away.
K2
Always a great place to get a cake for a party, nice macarons with a stable range and variety, a got more place for a quick lunch with their soup special, pretty good coffee too. Always professional service and polite. Can get crowded , get in early for breakfast and lunch to beat the rush.
Live_in_melbourne
Went there a bit late but the service was nice and friendly. Tried the croissant and eclair, ice mocha and flat white. We were happy about the dessert and would love to go back.
Annie
The French pastries displayed in the glass counter were very enticing and tasted as good as they looked. We tried the vanilla slice with the home made flakey pastry and the hot cross bun served warm with fresh butter. Both were delicious. The cafe latte from the modern bright yellow expresso machine complemented the pastries. Although the service was efficient, I found it strange that the waitress couldn't tell the difference between the traditional baguette (made from white bread) and the Ciabatta one. Nevertheless, I would go there again for the melt-in-your-mouth French pastries.

On a crisp Saturday winters morning, the place is packed. Wide happy grins all around, great atmosphere. There is some serious bakeware being produced here and its fresh; the croissants are al dente, tasting of the old country. Watching the bakers through the window and the baristas working the coffee machine add to the energising atmosphere. I cannot believe the queue of people.. Coffee has a full body but the after-taste is not to my liking but I am sure to many others. Team have listened to previous comments and clean the tables and seats after each customer. Will be back.

Tea Time !

This top French bakery in Port Melbourne according to broadsheet is a place to enjoy your afternoon tea.
Noisette is not a very fancy place but you will feel very relaxed in this place.

If you want to dine in, have a seat first than order (to make sure that you get a place to sit). No one will escort you to your table so dont wait for them.

Tried the Pain au raisin and Lemon Tart.
- Pain au raisin. Yum ! Delicious !
- Lemon Tart. I really like the lemon tart. Is not very sour and its light. Its not too sweet either. Just perfect for me. Really love it !

Everything was great except for the cleanliness. They dont wipe out the table, the floor is dirty, and the number stand has some cream on it.

Hope you guys enjoy your tea time ! Cheers ! 😁🎉

Walking into Noisette, and seeing the huge selection of pastries on display made deciding very difficult. We ended up trying a little bit of everything (although sadly I forgot the macarons!). The warmed croque monsieur to start with had delicious runny and gooey cheese. The croissants and danish weren't outstanding, to be honest. I wouldn't remember them over other pastries I've tried. They weren't as light and flaky as I had hoped and expected. I did really like the delicate and balanced sweetness of the almond croissant, and is what I would order again if I returned. I also really enjoyed the lemon tart, which was really smooth and wonderfully tangy. Overall I love the selection here, as it's the perfect place to eat in or takeaway meals or snacks. I thought the prices were on the low end for these types of bakeries, so the pastries were great value.

I love it when I find an new cafe or restaurant that really excites me and I can write a really positive review about it!
Congratulations and thank you Noisette for making this happen for me!
I wanted a sweet snack as I was walking around Prahran Market and decided to get a mini chocolate croissant from the Noisette stand. Oh my! It was so scrumptious! The pastry had a toffee like taste and aroma to it. The pastry was flaky and buttery - not dry. And the chocolate is of good quality. I could have very easily gobbled down quite a few of those mini chocolate croissants!
The delicious croissant left me with a taste for more. I stopped into the Port Melbourne bakery the next day and got a full sized chocolate croissant and a coffee, as well as an almond croissant to take away. The full sized croissant was just as delicious and amazing as the mini sized one and I was in heaven with every mouthful. The coffee was also beautiful and well made. I enjoyed the beautiful smells of the bakery and hearing the staff speak to each other in French and saying "Bon Appetite" when they deliver your food to your table.
The almond croissant was also a delight, with crunchy toffee almond flakes, soft flaky buttery pastry and a sweet almond paste filling.
Prices are very reasonable for the size and quality you get. The bakery does get busy and there was a queue when I visited, but the line moves pretty quickly and the staff were friendly and helpful.
I recently heard about insane lines for croissants in the northern suburbs of Melbourne and although i haven't tried theirs, I must say- Noisette's croissants would be pretty hard to beat and are definitely worth lining up for!
Blergh!
I first fell in love with Noisette croissants at my local cafe. Then fell in love again thanks to the coffee shop near my office. Seriously - you can't go past their croissants and pastry. It's just too good.

I finally popped into the shop after a particularly hard Pilates class - and I wish I lived near Port Melbourne because I would there everyday. For the croissants and pastry. Because it's all so good. I ordered the beignet, croissants, sour cherry and apricot pastry and also a few mini baguettes. All perfect.

Coffee was not the best to be honest. Bit watery and weak. So for that I can't give them a 5.

I know everyone is queuing up for Lune Croissanterie - but do yourself a favour - try Noisette instead!
TresHungry
The classic French pastries here are fantastic. I especially love their croissants and crusty baguettes and bread rolls. Everything is reasonably priced as well. Wish it was closer to home!

A gorgeous little French bakery that have sweet and savoury options. You can dine in and have coffee and a croissant, or get takeaway cakes or bread. Many of the staff are French, adding to the authentic experience when you visit Noisette.
Byron's Vanilla Slice Blog
Noisette is a classy establishment selling lots of French patisserie favourites, but in search of the best vanilla slice I was left feeling unsatisfied. Firstly, the price of this delicate little mille-feuille was $6.20, which I felt was way too high considering the portion size. Secondly, the creme patissiere lacked any kind of vanilla flavour whatsoever and really could have done with some rich egg yolk to beef it up a bit. Don't get me wrong - The pastry (as per usual in most good patisseries) was sublime, but the rest of the ensemble was lacking. My lovely partner informed me that her mini strawberry jam doughnut was most delightful!

Really enjoyed my ice coffee and pistachio macaroon. Comfortable seating, friendly staff and cute Parisian music.

:) x

This is by far the best French patisserie in Melbourne. Consistency is everything, been going there for years, never had a bad batch on croissants or bread. Their cakes ate just amazing, any Birthday parties, this should be the place to get your cake from.

OMG! Loved it. We stopped by on our way to Ocean Grove. I got an Americano and we got some of those small tarts and they were absolutely amazing! Not sure what but there was a delicious jam inside of those tarts and was a great company with the americano. The service was pretty good too.
Will
popped in for a late lunch on a sunday arvo. enjoyed a nice and simple chicken and pesto baguette.

Jam donut was really good, particularly liked the filling. The custard donut was good.

The beignets de sucre was very good, would come back for more.

Much like the Salted carmel eclair, the vanilla mille fuille was a bit disappointing with quite an acrid taste.

Will try and croissant and danish with a ham baguette on the next visit.
Nancy
Popped in after lunch for a cappuccino and a cake. We ended up sharing a delicious beignet au sucre which just hit the spot. Coffee was great too. Really liked the atmosphere of the cafe and service was great. No fuss no muss.
Chisyelda Oey
The space could use some work, because it didn't feel cosy and didn't have the ambiance that reflects the quality of the pastries. The information here in Zomato is incorrect, they are open from 6.30 am, or at least it said so in the front door. The guy in the cashier, who I guessed was probably the owner, was so friendly and cheerful, greeting people in French. I had the jam beignet and salted caramel eclair, both were superbly delicious. I think the eclairs are even better than bibelot's! I really want to come back to try other beignets and the croissants. If they could re-do the place and give it a better ambiance, I'd definitely rate higher, but the awesome baked goods and friendly service are more than enough to warrant a visit!
Z A.
The folk that work here are some of the lovliest people I have ever come across, the food has never let me down, always a fantastic selection of authentic French delicacies. Every time I come I have to get a vanilla beignet and a baguette to take home. Nothing to fault at all.
John K
Great pastries and coffee. Not too much food on offer, would be nice to see the menu expand and offer more for breakfast as I'm sure they would do a great job.
Mark Landells
Noisette has been in Port Melbourne for some 9 or 10 years now. I haven't been for some 8 years as I had moved away from Melbourne. Well I went back to Noisette recently and it was just like stepping back in time. The coffee was just as good and tasted exactly the same. The Tuna Roll was just as tasty and knocked it off in no time. The fresh breads and croissants still look fabulous. I will definitely be back for an almond croissant and coffee on the weekend. Good work Noisette!! Consistently good!
Alisha
I am not a sweet tooth, but WOW their pastries were delicious! My friends and I tried a few of their different pastries, but safe to say that my favourite was the simple croissant! Crunchy and flavourful! Mmmmmm....
GoodorNot
Noisette is simply an excellent patisserie. No fuss, great service from Melvyn (who makes a point of remembering customers names and smiling a welcome). I had a coffee, a chocolate pastry which looked fantastic and tasted rich, velvety, light and would not have looked out of place in an expensive Parisian coffee house. The customers just kept coming as it's reputation precedes it. Locals only wish it was a better kept secret!
Edible Melbourne
It's not luck that these guys supply most of the most reputable places in Melbourne. They know what they are doing with French pastries and they ensure they produce great products worth traveling for. Points taken for average coffee and equally average service.
Alana Starc
The pastries are to die for but customer service is so bad and don't even bother with wholesale the rudest people!
I will no longer go back or order wholesale!
Ross
The pastries as always, are quite delicious. But.... What has happened to the coffee ?? Have they changed suppliers ?? The coffee has been sub par for a few weeks now and has forced me to go elsewhere (except for when i need a croissant).
Pretty disappointed though as this was my regular.
Klod
Excellent viennoiserie and bread .... Never been disappointed... Best croissant in Melbourne .... And I mean it as I have tried a lot, if you haven't try it, you really should...
FatCat
Delicious. Lacking a bit in ambience but a good vanilla beignet, excellent chocolate eclair, the cryptic crossword and most importantly a strong and hot pot of tea made up for that. A very pleasant morning tea!
Lifers Food
They might sell great bread but service needs a lot of work....staff look lost!!!

Behind those beautiful Petits Gâteaux (french small cakes) are made with love by a team of talented pasty chefs lead by the most respectable pastry chef that I ever met – Chef Stephane Bordes who I had the privilege and honour to learn from and work with!

This patisserie has high quality products, at not too high a price (I think cakes are around the $6 mark), however I don't usually travel near Port Melbourne, so I've only visited it a couple of times. A delicious take on the usual choux puffs, the hazelnut flavour was clearly present. Choux pastry seemed very good as well, and the orange confit added an extra dimension to the item.

Hello everyone! This page is dedicated to some of the restaurants that I visit where their Desserts are above standard, presented beautifully and have a taste to match. This site also has different cakes and designs that I have ordered and had the pleasure of eating that I would recommend. Salted Caramel Donuts with Rose Petals and Pistachio @ Feast of Merit . These were balls of yumness and gooeyness all rolled into one – complete with fragrance and texture – thanks to the Rose Petals and Pistachios. I loved that they were all differently shaped and the saltiness of the caramel worked well with the soft sweet centre of the donut. I only came to Feast of Merit for coffee and Dessert but definitely want to come back and check out their food! Coconut Sago with Passionfruit and Pineapple Trifle and Apple together with the Walnut Tart with Miso Butterscotch and Japanese Whisky Ice Cream @ KONG BBQ Look out for a review coming soon to GRAZING PANDA! Vanilla Choux with Pistachio Cream, Mil

Traviatta; Almond and pistachio sponge base soaked in pistachio syrup with pistachio butter cream and chocolate ganache...finished this in a matter of seconds!...top three favourites were the macarons, chocolate and almond croissant and the chocolate and pear danish~

While the baked breads are good here, their coffees, sandwiches and sweets aren’t that exciting.

This Bay street bakery-café looks incredibly like Laurent with dark wooden walls and a splash of contemporary, but luckily the food is not on the same level. The glass displays are filled with shimmering mini-cakes, golden pastries and not to mention the beautiful bread. Coffee is passably good, lacking in a bit of vigour and silkiness. Prosciutto baguette - delicious chewy crusty baguette filled with thin slices of prosciutto, perfectly ripe avocado, cheese and a little kick from sundried tomatoes. A tasty sandwich. Pistachio torsades - a beautifully twirled croissant filled with the subtle fragrance of pistachio. Almond slices and the flaky pastry give a nice crumbly crunch. Must say though, it was a tad burnt at the tips. That brings me to the end of brunch. Well, sort of… End of brunch maybe, but no way on earth I was going to return home empty hand

Croissants. So good.. The croissants here are excellent, and for a very naughty treat the ham and cheese croissant is deliciously decadent. The coffees could still be improved, but are not awful. Macaroons are a tasty little treat too!
Alexbusiness658
Croissants are the best.. I drop in for the Croissants, the choc almond one is great.
Melbourneyum
Delicious pain au chocolat could have had more chocolate in the middle it was all in the end but still delicious.the brioche with custard was a bit dry.i prefer tivoili bakery for that.my partner had a mini sandwich and cheescake very good.

Went out for breakfast to Noisette after searching online for a french patisserie and where to buy a real french baguette. I ordered a prosciutto baguette, croissant and bought a stick of baguette to take home. The staff were not friendly and the food was very mediocre to say the least. There was nothing french about any if the items I tried. The baguette sandwich had a lump of butter to soften up a dry piece of bread that tasted like it was baked yesterday. The taste of the baguette stick was awful, dry and tasteless. If you take any bread recipe and shape it into a long stick doesn't automatically give you the right to call it baguette. And finally croissant was not the light fluffy you get in France but heavy, oily pastry version I could probably make a better one at home with shop pastry :( will not come here again as was looking for a genuine french patisserie, there are better authentic places to eat with better service.

WINNER OF BEST COFFEE SHOP IN PORT MELBOURNE. Once again, won the best coffee shop and customer service....in Post Melbourne.
Do come in for visit...

Rude staff and expensive!!!!. We were at this place for brunch once on a walk.
order: coffee, milk shake, sandwich and a piece of cake. 20mins later coffee and milk shake arrived after we saw it sitting at the counter for easy 5mins. waited and waited and waited more... no food!!!! asked, they forgot the order. we were sitting right there looking at them.
disappointed we walked away and asked for the money back. they got pissed off!!! manager could not understand what the fuss was about!!! REALLY!!!finally got the money back after much argument... we advised that if they are charging top prices they should be able to provide top service too and also listen to their customers. we were a regular there. not anymore!!!

Tastes like Paris. Always delicious Melbournes own little France

Best French. Best of the best French in Port Melbourne!
Everything is fabulous.
Can't wait to go back.
Thank you noise tote for not pretending to be anything but exquisitely French!

One of the best Croissant in Melbourne!. Was at a French class and we were lucky enough to get a variety of Croissants from Noisette for our lunch break.

Tried the plain Croissant, Pain au Chocolat (Chocolate Croissant) and Pain aux Raisins.

They were all so yummy and delicious!! Everything you are looking for in a real croissant: flaky, buttery, nicely risen.. I must find a time to visit the shop soon :)

Expensive and underwhelming. Bought Noisette hot cross buns at Queen Vic market this morning. Two packets of six buns cost $19 (yes I nearly fell over, but figured they must be exceptional). They completely fell apart when I tried to butter them (with soft butter). Tasted too sweet and pretty unimpressed. Given the cost of these they should have been without fault. Won't bother again.
Felix The Housemate
Love it! We come here everyday for coffee. It's the best in Port Melbourne and the croissants and sour dough are the best in Melbourne!

Excellent french patisserie. 10/10..such a beautiful cosy shop with everything u wish to eat in a french patisserie! Excellent quality...try the mini cream patt fried donughts my fav!

Might have Some good products, but what a rude, uneducated, unorganised business.

All of my experiences with this company have been unsuccessful to say the least.

The one time an order actually went through, the croissants must have been at least a day old, and my client threw them out.
Better off with nothing than stale pastry that's for sure.

How embarrassing.

Never again.

Lovely French bakery. We have visited this truly authentic French Bakery everyday during our two week stay in Port Melbourne. (They open every day at 6.30am which provides a great incentive for an early morning walk! )
The fig and walnut and the white baguettes are really great but our favourite has been the fennel baguette. If you're heading to the beach grab a picnic made up of their pre made filled baguette or seeded rolls (veggie or smoked salmon) and eat down on the nearby port watching the boats.
We also really loved the opera cake, croissants, chocolate croissants, cherry danish but the salted caramel macarons are to die for!
AndyR
Lovely cakes..but need umbrellas outside.. Came across this french bakery wandering down Bay street (at the upper end towards the beach) on Sunday. Being a lover of all things pastry - had to stop and try the wares. Very very busy - sat outside (as had a dog). They need umbrellas as on a hot and bright day the glare is to much (and the direct sun doesn't do the cakes any good). Ordered a chocolate eclair and my partner the creme brulee plus 2 coffees. My eclair (see pic) was exquisite ( eclairs have been my fav since a child and I'm now 47). The chocolate topping was perfect, the choux pastry just right (right amount of softness while at the same time being firm while not being soggy - a fatal flaw of many a baker/retailer makes who further compounds the problem by putting the finished product in a cold chiller making the pastry soggy). It was filled with a light but chocolaty cream custard & topped with a spindle of gold leaf/dust and a square of chocolate with their name on it. Hit the spot. My partners Creme Brûlée was more of the custard variety and was less successful although still tasty. But it was more the 'quick' variety without the hard toffee/sugar 'crunch' top (something that sort of resembled it but you can see from the pic) and served in a rather cheap looking foil container (I suppose they do have little alternative given a proper ramekin can't be sold as take away). The rest of the cakes on display did all look yummy. Coffees cam and my cappuccino was just as order, hot without being scalding and make all the more attractive by being served in a sunflower yellow cup and saucer (lifted the whole table). One word of criticism that I find with oh so many places in this country - coffee and cake means both usually close together. Defeats the purpose serving the cake and getting the coffee 5-10 minutes later when you have finished. As I said, its not just this place that does that although the crowds in the store won't have helped as it appears a popular spot for afternoon tea. On the Andrew scale - would go back in a heartbeat.

Wow! It's been a while that I've been to a place with such friendly staff and real service. They take the extra step and are great! Plus, the food and coffee is fantastic. Haven't had such a good croissant in Melbourne to date!

FANTASTIC. This little French bakery is my favourite place in Melbourne. They have the best hot chocolate, beautiful French baguettes & croissants, and I LOVE their custard donuts. They have a range of beautiful cakes and macarons, and the staff are wonderful! Definitely worth a visit.

Not impressed this Christmas season my order was stuffed up! Nobody wants to be running around at this time. Get it right the first time, what happened to
organization!?

Why on earth did they stop making their Nutella chocolate beignet!?! It's what brings my French husband and I back time and time again. Their new salted caramel version is lovely, but still - the chocolate is chocolate!

French Bakery Delights. Would have to be one of the best french bakeries around with amazing croissants, cakes and breads.
Croissants on the pricey side at around $4 a pop considering a deli down the road at the Sth Melbourne market sell Noisette Croissants for $2!!!

Loveable Local. This is my local bakery and its fantastic. The little olive dinner rolls, the fruit sourdough, the walnut loaf and the shallot loaf are our favourite buys.

The coffee is really good and the friendly service from all the young staff are why we go there every day.

Their cakes are excellent for a special occasion and the croissants, especially the almond ones are of really good quality. They also offer a variety of other sweet and pastry offerings which are now of varying quality due to a change in owners and the once generous sizes are diminishing. It pains me to say but the once outstanding beignets are now not worth the calories and I steer clear of them.

Overall though this is a wonderful place and I'd recommend it.

Best Bakery in Melbourne. What a pleasure it is to visit this great Port Melbourne icon.
A wonderful selection of traditional French delights.
Special mention must be given the staff at Noisette, what a delight to be served by the young, friendly and professional staff, I look forward to my daily coffee here.

Totally amazing food/bread, but possibly the WORSE service I've experienced. It's like I was invisible (I've been there many times before and this doesn't change).

Had afternoon cake and coffee here and it was amazing! Traditional beautiful French patisserie - great coffee and tea, had apple tarte tartin, lemon tart, a macaron and another chocolate mousse cake I can't pronounce that were great (there were 4 of us!). Service fast and attentive. Fantastic

Yuuuummmmmmmm. Beautifully baked fresh croissants and pastries. The custard beignet and chcolate eclairs (warning: very gooey and rich) were a standout. Rich coffee. A window to watch the bakers at it. Pleasant service. Also good for lunch with some tasty filled-baguettes. Must be the best baguettes this side of France!
Yummmmmm!
