Great restaurant tucked in the middle of Melbourne’s city. Great food, service and live music. My new favorite restaurant :)
A new gem to the Melbourne restaurant scene. Great food, great service.
Had grilled pork on rice. Pork very succulent and tender. Didn’t wait long. Nice Thai decor.
รสชาดดีมากคะ แต่อาหารได้น้อยไปหน่อย ไม่สมราคา บริการดี อารหารออกเร็ว พนักงานยิ้มแย้มแจ่มใสดีคะ
Great authentic thai fast service on the noodle menu
Our go-to Thai restaurant every time. Bit on the sweet side on taste at times but still delicious. Their tomyum noodle soup is amazing, so spicy and appetising!
we tried their new dodee delivery service and were pleasantly surprised! the red duck curry was our favourite - super punchy and packed full of flavour.
fried bread with pandan custard dip was a bit oily but vv delicious! definitely would be so much better eating it fresh at the restaurant.
found the pork belly to be a bittt too fatty for our liking - almost no meat at all.
boat noodles were yum as well! a bit salty but very flavourful with lots of herbs.
Been here many times and it’s always busy!Authentic Thai cuisine & priced reasonably. Ordered the pad Thai, green curry and tom yum for takeaway - the pad thai was amazing! However tom yum and green curry were quite small - lots of soup broth however there were only few pieces of prawns & meat in both.
This place is almost always packed and at times even at 1:30 am lol. But their noodle soup reminds me of my home. And they do have a great variety of spicy levels so a great place for daredevils. Just bring antacids if you wanna try level 5 on empty stomach.
After a long long while, this is my first review on Zomato. I would like to start by praising Dodee for its location which is super close to where I work. I know this doesn't apply to everyone cos some of you don't even live here on earth, but I digress. So far I haven't discovered anything I don't like about Dodee. I've tried the Pad Thai, a pork dish which name I cannot remember, and another dish my girlfriend totally obliterate. Bottom line is Dodee seems like a nice chill place to hang out in, so definitely give it a shot.
😱Lizzie’s first impression: I have come back time and time again and it’s always just as consistent.
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: the food is amazing! I’ve tried the pad Thai, the pad see ew and also the dodee monster! Think Tom yum soup with noodles and wonton crisps, pork ribs and fish ball slices. Level 1 is already too spicy so I really don’t recommend if you can’t take spice! The crispy pork with Chinese broccoli is amazing - it’s crispy and the greens are cooked perfectly.
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: it gets so busy during lunch time and the staff are not as attentive as they should be. The masaman curry was not great - it was watered down and used off cut beef in it unfortunately.
🥇Lizzie rates overall: it’s a great place for a quick catch up over lunch and it even opens at an ungodly hour at night every night!
Lots and lots of yum! Small little gem, we found on our adventure. Locals told us to come, so we did and it was delicious.
The service is great and I appreciate when staff knows the beers. 5 stars for a great restaurant
I love this place so much sometimes I have cravings. Too bad I live 30 km away from the CBD. They're menu is filled with so much variety I've never seen before (fried wonton pad thai?) I wish I can try them all.
However! Each visit I always regret veering off from my usual: Dodee Devil with extra boiled wonton and steam vegetables.
Those times I veered away, I ordered:
- Deep Fried School Prawn
- Som Tum Fruit
- Tom Yum Fried Rice
They were all great and have their own appeal, but staring at my companions slurping happily at their noodle soups I suffered a case of food envy...
Note: If your spicy limit is Buldak 2x Hot Chicken Ramen, I'd advise you not to go above Dodee Devil. There's chilli powder provided as condiments on the table to increase spiciness, so start from Dodee Nursery and go from there. The soup starts of sweet, but you'll feel it building up around halfway so don't add the chilli flakes too early.
Dishes were tasty and decent portions. Service was fast and efficient. Prices average.
Love their pineapple fried rice and pad thai !! Highly recommend mango sticky rice too !
The line to this place was long, but worth the wait. I enjoy the lunch special they had. I also got the laksa and shared if with my friend. Will def go back here again.
My favourite Thai place! Creamy Tom yum and quail eggs every time thanks!
We had the Dodee Devil Tom yum noodle soup and green tea and Thai milk tea drinks.
For people who don't particularly like pork broths like ramen Dodee Devil masks the strong pork flavour with herbs such as coriander. CAUTION: the soup has lots of chilli powder so its not for the faint hearted and might even be too much for the well seasoned spice eater like myself. The herbs made a huge difference for me as I don't like meaty tasting soups and the flavouring was quite complex. I asked for tofu and fish balls. The tofu was a bit soggy but the fish balls were fine. Definitely a yummy cheap meal but I'd go down in spice level! The drinks were decent would recommend.
Food was generally very delicious. Been there many times and never cease to amaze me everytime! Very authentic flavours
This restaurant gets very busy on the weekend and I can see why, the food tastes amazing and the ambience is awesome.
I’d definitely come back here for the fish cakes, papaya salad and red curry. The amount of spice in the food was good.
The only complaint I’d have was asking for fresh chili 3 times and never receiving it.
OMG. Just come.
And prepare to wait.
But come.
You can find much cheaper Thai style food very easily in Melbourne. However, in terms of premium Thai choices you should consider Dodee Paidang.
We can here very often to eat egg noodle. Taste so good, and the beverage options are plenty
Great place, good atmosphere, 5 minute walk from Flinders St station. A budget eater like me often go at happy hours, they have entrees and a glass of beer deal for cheap. Noodle soups in great, I love how they have the instant noodle option. I’m not giving 5 stars due to the service, staff can be inattentive.
Busy and loud restaurant. Used to be much better but its still good now.
Upon arrival we sat upstairs and thought this is a very tiny restaurant before we realised the real action was downstairs next to The Causeway 353 Hotel. We were advised to use take away containers upstairs as a way to speed things up as the wait in the main joint could be long. Despite the plastic containers, the food was pleasantly nice and the service was equally good. Some of the food we ordered were the raw prawn salad and soft shell crab with choo Chee sauce. These are the dishes we will definitely come back to plus the authentic experience, we felt like we were eating in Thailand minus the humidity:)
Ordered the tom yum noodles level 1 and it was so good though still a little spicy for me. The thai milk tea was a perfect balance of tea flavour and sweetness.
Really love the food here! I'll always come back and wait.
This place had a wide range of food. The food was flavoursome and interactive with your tastebuds. We had a chicken dish, pork dish and soft shell crab dish. All were good, the stir fry with the chicken and basil was our favourite. The service was good by both our waitresses. Only reason it’s not a 5 is it’s quite loud in there but it could be great for groups
Best pad thai I've ever had! The fact that there was queue when we arrived, during our meal and after we left on a Tues night is a testament to how delicious the food is. Friendly staff too. Will be back.
Best Thai tom yum soup noodles in Melbourne period! Been here over 5 times and everytime we have not been disappointed (I mean the only disappointment is having to wait in the long line to get a table!).
Other noteworthy dishes are the pork skewers and the pork ribs.
Great fresh noodles and Thai dishes, highly recommend for a casual meal. A solid 4.7/5👌
there are always lines for this place so get in early and expect to wait for a table. but the food is definitely worth the wait! i highly recommend the chilli basil duck fried rice. the spice levels are real here so it’s always best to go less and add chilli powder if you want more.
Heard great reviews and we can see why. Made our family with 2 young children feel very welcome and the staff went out of their way to interact and support. The food was great and we particularly loved the crispy pork belly stir fry. Will be back!
Our first time visiting. Feels like being transported back to Thailand. Everything we ordered is superb. Service is friendly. We have zomato gold so we got 2 free drinks. And if you pay cash, you will get 5% disc.
The Tom Yum Noodles are the best I've ever eaten!
You get authentic Thai food here, love their tom yum as it does not taste sweet like how other restaurant make them. All that we ordered tasted good, there are alot to choose from the menu, we have to come back to try others. Just
one dish that we don’t really like is the grilled squid, is a bit hard.
p.s. go early to secure a table or else the queue will be very long, its very loud and noisy in the restaurant. The staffs are also very busy, you need to call them a few times for service.
Regular customers. We ordered the Pad Thai with tofu and vegetables and the Tom Yum soup. Generous serving sizes. One of the best Tom Yum in Melbourne in my opinion. Tom Yum is quite spicy. Cheap and easy! Wasn’t too busy on a Saturday afternoon - food came out quick and hot. One of my favorite casual, one dollar sign dining spots.
This place is filled with Thai locals. Perhaps the most authentic taste of Thai in Melbourne, coupled with a fantastic atmosphere of an underground casual bar filled with Thai themed decor. Perfect for both small and large groups, casual or neat dine in experiences. This place caters for all.
I had to wait a little for my order, but this could be expected during certain times such as dinner or lunch, as this place is always very busy. Good to see an abundance in staff.
Meal was delicious, but I would say that one may not be enough around lunch time, specifically if you’re sharing. Portion sizes seem to be a little on the smaller size but the taste may be second to none.
Never get tired with their food
My favourite Thai restaurant by far.
This was easily the most authentic and flavourful Thai I’ve had in Melbourne. We waited a good 25 minutes to get a seat on a busy Sunday but the food came at a rapid pace.
Everything that we ordered at the menu (first time being there) was stellar and did not disappoint. A personal favourite of mine is the pineapple fried rice and the red curry.
What’s great is that the menu’s variety is so large and therefore you can pick great feeds for a few people or to a crowd’s delight. Great stuff Dodee!
Dodee Paidang has the most authentic Thai food in the CBD! It is a truly hidden gem as it is situated underground in one of the many laneways of the city.
This was my second visit after a very impressive first visit many months ago. Even though we were there early, it was almost a full house with lots of people wolfing down their breakfast. Yes, they are now open for breakfast! Thai food first thing in the morning? Simply perfect!
We had a few dishes today. The chicken pad Thai was fantastic. The Thai salad was so flavoursome with lots of textures and exotic tastes. Plus the chicken stir fry was full of herbs and spices - great with fluffy white jasmine rice. Then came the icy desserts. The colourful sweetness was a lovely way to end our fiery meal.
It's an easy 5 stars for Dodee Paidang!
Previously:
Probably one of the best Thai eatery in the CBD. It is located below street level but the dining area is surprisingly spacious and welcoming. Service was warm and fast.
We really enjoyed the pineapple fried rice which had lots of fresh ingredients in it. The result was a lovely sweet, savoury and mildly spicy combination. The highlight of the day though was the Pad Ped which had a whole lot of herbs, pepper corn, egg plant, bamboo shoots - all intertwined with a spicy red chilli paste.
Definitely will have to return to try the other items on their menu!
Friday night and as expected, we were greeted by a line. However, as a pair we were seated relatively quickly! (Larger groups should anticipate a longer wait!). Service was fast and efficient, and we received our food very quickly for it being full. Food was also super yummy! ☺️
They've got you covered where its 6am in the morning or late night, they are open.
They offer an extensive menu that will not disappoint you. A majority of the dishes are inspired by Isan cuisine but they do have flavours and dishes from all over Thailand. They do have different levels of spiciness, and level 1 is already a big kick for me.
They do have big tables which is perfect for big groups, they do get quite busy, so might be good to go in early
My fav Thai restaurant in Melbourne! Dodee devil noodle is me and my boyfriend favorite 😋
Authentic Thai food.
Could allow customers to select 4 different drinks at the same price for the 2+2 drinks on ZG.
The fried bread is the best in Melbourne. I couldn’t find any other fried bread like dodee’s. The soup was good and I’m thrilled to try other food. I will definitely be back!
I ordered the Do Dee Nursery with thin rice noodles which is the Tom Yum Noodle without Chilli because my spice tolerance is extremely low. The last time I ordered a level 2 it was very very spicy for me. But even then I could tell that it was very flavourful. This time I could actually taste everything.
Broth was amazing, and I love the assortment of meat present in the dish. Definitely give their noodle menu a try!
Seafood pad thai ($21.90) ⭐️4/5 ⭐️
Do dee nursery ($7.50) ⭐️ 4.5/ 5 ⭐️
🍴Yummy #thaifood at this popular restaurant. There was a long queue that took about 15 mins at 6.30pm on a weekend but when we left, the queue had stretched all the way up the stairs so do go earlier to avoid long waits! The #seafoodpadthai was well-executed and came with generous amount of juicy prawns, mussels, and squid. It’s quite a huge portion so good to share. While flavourful, I personally found it too oily and the noodles could be slightly harder in texture. There’s also a whole array of noodle soups, with your preferred choice of noodle & spicy level. As I can’t take spicy, we went with the small, no chilli option and enjoyed the nutty and flavourful soup, along with the various yummy meats and fishcakes, mixed with the crunchy bits and refreshing vegetables.

love. be prepared to queue up. so much hustle and bustle and food so much flavour. thankyou for many great meals have been 20 plus times.
Been here several times and the food has been consistently good. The tom yum noodle is really flavourful! If you don’t usually eat spicy food Level 1 is probably the best for you. If you’re looking for more kick, Level 2 would be the go-to. Thai milk tea was pretty good too as it’s not too milky or sweet compared to thai milk tea at other places.
