Omg the gluten free batter is amazing! Finally.
..have eaten battered fish and potato cakes after years and years. So damn good. And the fish....none of these thin pieces of flake like a normal fish and chip shop, but a thick decent size and so fresh. We will be back !
Loved it, its the best fish and chips going around. They don't skimp on the grilled fish nice and thick pieces the chips were amazing cooked perfect.... and they have the gluten free batter not much of that around. Definitely worth the drive second time i have been there now
The photos definitely do not disappoint! Fish was fresh, batter was heavenly crispy and the burgers are succulent and juicy! I also did a naughty and had one of their deep fried mars bars as an after-treat. Will definitely be returning here again!
The family and I ordered D'Lish fish off of uber eats and unfortunately when we received our order, more than half was missing. Obviously unsure of whether the driver was at fault, I called D'Lish fish to advise and the staff were more than helpful and accomodating. We drove to the shop to get the rest of our order and the staff kindly gave us extras for the inconvenience. The food was amazing. Thank you
Being Coeliac it's hard to find good Gluten free fish and chips. I had my first dim sims in years and they were delicious. Would recommend the Gluten free options which are amazing.
Delicious barramundi fried in cotton seed oil ... it was divine .. the best I have eaten 👍🏼will definitely go there again
At the end of an extremely special Family outing we decided to have fish and chips before heading home. We were all delighted with our food and I happily recommend D'Lish Fish
Best fish and chips i have had for a long time. Definately worth a visit if you rver come to port melbourne
Best fish n chips I have had in ages so fresh and not to overdone with batter
Delicious fish and the crunchiest fresh chips. Not cheap but worth the expense. Happily recommend
Been eating by he sea at this establishment since the 1990’s - it’s consistently amazing, fresh and the fish is definitely D’ Lish. Don’t forget to check out their fabulous salads while you’re there. For those who like an ice cream dessert or an alcoholic bevvy they have those too. Don’t forget to find them on Uber Eats as well! Your first taste will leave you wanting more!!!
The best fish and chips I’ve had in Melbourne for sure. Well worth a trip to Port Melbourne!
Best fish n chips waiting to board the Spirit and thought we'd pop in, stared at the menu umming and ahhing then ended up getting fish and chips, best decision we made
Great place with a pretty view. The fish is light and non greasy and fish was delicious. Nice place with great service.
Really good fish and chips place, nice and light deep fry batter. Food and service remain good and professional in these uncertain covid times. Please keep going and hope you will get through this period, thanks.
Beautiful view, October 2018

I have avoided this place for years, it always seems so busy. Having walked a fair distance and two hungry kids screaming for food I decided to overcome my fear of crowds and take a plunge. Waited in a line placed an order, was thinking I’ll be waiting for hours but was ready in 15mins. They are a well tuned tank and everything seems super smooth. The weather was really nice so I was very surprised how quick and I was even more surprised with how good the food was. I got the kids a cheese burger, the kids pack with 3 fish bites, chips and potato cake. For myself I got The days special , Brioche bun with prawn mayo dill filling. This was a OMG moment. It tasted so good and I was not thinking about how far I just walked and the calories that I will put straight back on, so worth it. The cheeseburger, potato cake was a hit. I’m not sure if I liked the chips they seemed so yellow in color. We also had gelato slightly disappointing they had no cones. I would recommend eating outside as the lines and people waiting to collect food is really overwhelming inside.
One of the better fish and chip places in Melbourne. Nice and fresh fish, good batter, not too greasy, I just wish homemade chips were available like in Ireland.
Ordered their food from Uber eats . It was about 25 bucks for a fish pack with large chips and extra fish which is a bit pricey but the taste was great. While it was delivered, taste was fresh and packed well. I think they are one of the best shops I have tried in South Melbourne area so will definitively them a go again !
This place is the king of Fish n Chips in the whole area! Fresh fish, delicious chips with a fantastic view to enjoy the food!Surprise factor, their burgers are absolutely amazing too so make sure to give them a try! Minion approves!
A-ma-zing! I never would have thought that I’d have probably the best burger I’ve had from a fish and chip shop but I did!
The fish and chips were also beautiful.
Highly recommend if you’re in Port Melbourne but also worth the drive for a feed and walk along the beach.
After a cruise, my husband and I ate here while waiting for our kids to pick us up. We had some of the best fish and chips ever!! Ordered the packs to try a little bit of everything and the potato cakes were fantastic but most noteworthy is the calamari!! Such tender pieces inside the batter, I could've eaten a dozen on my own!
Great chips too! Was very busy but they were pumping the food out quickly for everyone. Wish we lived closer but will 100% visit again when we're in the area.
A great spot for that traditional fish and chips that you find yourself craving! I had the fried fish and my partner had the grilled fish. They were both brilliant and we look forward to coming back here in our next trip to Port Melbourne!
After spending the day at the beach we just wanted a quick and hassle free bite to eat. D'lish was pumping, lots of people in the line to order and seating area.
Kitchen was busy but our wait wasn't too long. My cheeseburger was really good, loved the special sauce they used. Chips were good too and my friends all loved their food that they ordered too.
Can see why this place is so packed!
D’Lish is a pretty accurate description.
This is the best Fish & Chips I’ve had in Melbourne.
The place was packed due to a large Greek celebration nearby. The queue was 20 meters out the door, yet food was getting pumped out and everything was of great quality.
These guys have absolutely nailed it.
Everything we had was so good and, although slightly pricey, it’s definitely good value, based on the quality and location.
If there was one thing to critique, that would be the Prawns - both were very dry. Everything - perfection!
New favourite summer spot!!
The Manhattan burger is next level. Everything else is fresh and delicious. Always busy but service is prompt and friendly. Well worth the drive from the suburbs for fish’n’chips and burgers!
You know a place is good when they charge extra for sauce and you still struggle to find a free table.
Went there (out of my way, word of mouth) expecting another good fish and chip shop but was pleasantly surprised to find out its a great fish and chip shop.
My salmon was grilled to perfection, crispy skin and bright pink inside. My partner had flake which was also delicious. Good quality of chips to compliment the meal and did I mention that the calamari here is awesome?
Will be back for more
Great fish and chips shop in Beacon Cove at Port Melbourne Pier.
Grilled fish was cooked perfectly and the chips were fantastic. Great portion of Greek salad to compliment the meal.
Definite winner for a casual bite near the water watching the cruise ships
Got the blue grenadier grilled fish, fish souvkaki and pineapple fritter. The grilled fish didn't look nice after a ride in the Uber eats drivers box but it tasted fresh, seasoned well with salt and pepper and was very nice. The pineapple fritter batter was crunchy and cinnamon made it all that yummier. The pineapple rings were very juicy and sweet.
Great food, quick service and a great place to sit and watch the world go by on a sunny Melbourne day. You must try the nutella balls, amazing!
I won't eat Fish and Chips anywhere else but here. I have been eating here for years and always great food. I always bring friends here and we are never disappointed. The Burgers are great too and Best Dim Sims. Thanks D'lish for many happy meals :)
A great place for fish and chips and a beer. Always quick and friendly and really tasty food. If you need gluten free, as my wife does, their options there are something that set them apart - a really good GF batter. I'm generally sceptical of dim sims, but their ones were quality too. Only disappointment is overcharging on sauce.

I've been coming to this fish and chip shop for a very long time and I can honestly say not once was it disappointing. I've had everything from the traditional fish and chips to the salads and the burgers, the quality of the food here is fantastic and you would not think the food was amazing from face value of the outside of the shop. definitely worth a try if you're in the area.
So much freshness and tastiness spread across a large menu which caters for all eaters... A fish shop which has expanded its menu into surprising directions, but impressing customers by producing the goods 👌 The perfect food option for a Summer meal with a location that is on point in the WaterFront precinct.
Popped in for a quick bite. Calamari was absolutely delicious and the chips were hot and golden. Big shout out to Jim for his great service.
I had been taking some photos at Princes Pier and I felt a little peckish. I checked Zomato and D'lish Fish popped up on the near me screen. The place was clean and the service was friendly. My fish was made to order and I really liked it, the batter was crispy and the fish was great. I just wish they used real chips. They are good enough though, I just thought the sauce was expensive. I'd definitely go back to D'lish, but I've got a few other chip shops to work through first.
Just one word *Amazing* the fish and chips as well as the burgers ... A good place to just hang out by the port with some beers... will definately go back here
Check out the gains on that guy! Have you seen a burger this big at a fish & chip joint? No, see above/below!
D'Lish Fish in Port Melbourne don't just do traditional fish & chips, but they also do burgers, souvlakis and desserts! But then again being so close to sea, their fish & chips were the highlight and man they were fresh and delicious! The burgers are awesome too, so give them a shot!
Most those HD photos were taken by the Cheesy.boys so check them out and check D'Lish Fish out!!
Manhattan burger baby!!!
I had only ever stopped here for a skewer and salad after a run.
Not somewhere I would have come for a burger (self confessed Burger snob) I was in the area dying for a burger. I read a few great reviews and thought I'd try it out.
Hoping it was going to be worth the calories and I wouldn't leave disappointed I thought well here goes nothing.....
Looked very good.
First bite YAY good burger!
Second bite WOW very good burger!
8/1O for the Manhattan!
DEF will be on my go to burger list when in the area!
Thank you!
Will be back!!!!
Your go to fish and chip shop by the beach.
D'lish Fish delivers some of the freshest and most d'lish fish and chips this side of Melbourne, offering all the classics alongside some amazing burgers and other options for those not in the mood for just the ordinary. Despite it's often busy shop the food comes out in a timely manner and staff are always very firendly, even during peak hours you can enjoy the sunsetting over the bay while you wait for your meal. D'lish Fish is by far my favorite fish and chip shop in Melbourne and is a must try if you are in the area looking for something to crave that post beach day meal.
Awesome food! I think these guys produce the best fish & chip shop burg in Melbourne. Deep fried Nutella balls were unreal, and even better in a burger lol. Can't wait to come back!
Visited here for takeaway fish n chips on a friday night... port melb was super busy and d'lish fish was the only place that would even answer our phone call. D'lish fish perfect name, so nice and fresh!

Super location for a fish and chip venue, especially in winter. The gym pack offers great value for $15.50 for a grilled option. I remember when this used to be called Rex Hunts dlish fish and it is very similar in terms of layout inside. Highly recommend
Consistent quality seafood every time! Perfectly fried and quick turnaround. They know how to handle large numbers of orders. New tartare is better than before
Love having fish and chips here with the family every time we visit Port Melbourne
Great fish and chips , by the beach , seagulls ,water so what else can you ask for ???
Maybe a better potato cake ? , just asking .😁
Fresh fish and amazing chips but potato cake a let down .. .....
When we arrived at Dlish Fish there was a fairly big line. We new this place was popular but didn't know how popular. It moved pretty quick and when the food arrived we new exactly why it was popular. The food here was unbelievable. Fish was mouth watering. Burgers we're scrumptious and the chips were D Lish, mind the pun. Worth it!

Tucked away down near the Spirit of Tasmania dock, this fish and chip shop may not be easy access for some people but if you can get down there you won’t be disappointed. The food is phenomenal, some of the best burgers around and their servings of fish and chips are very generous. You can also enjoy a beer while your there and then try a deep fried mars bar or Nutella ball for dessert (soooo good!).
I don’t come to Port Melbourne enough, and I should. Especially now that I know what amazingness D’lish are churning out; beef, fish, chicken burgers, fried everything and dessert to boot - you can’t possibly walk away hungry from this place. Deep fried balls of Nutella! South Melb dim sims! Definitely soon to be a fave summer spot down here.
I was lucky enough to be part of the D’lish VIP night and having not been there for about ten years I can wholeheartedly confirm that it’s bigger and better than ever.
Sitting outside with a spectacular view of the pier was perfection on such a summery Melbourne evening and its the ideal location for a fish and chip meal. But not only do they do a stellar potato cake and some of the absolute best calamari rings I’ve ever had (seriously sensationally tender) their burgers are pretty impressive too. Embracing the f&c theme many of my fellow bloggers opted to customise their burgers with potato cakes, crab sticks and dim sims. I jumped on the bandwagon with a potato cake in the chicken schnitzel burger which was a fine choice. A very good quality bun too.
What really got me going however was the dessert. Not only do they have your standard pineapple and banana fritters they also have a wide range of ice cream from which I enjoyed a delicious salted caramel and mango cone.
In addition to this they take deep fried to the next level with fried mars bars but also with Nutella balls. Legit deep fried balls of Nutella. I was in utter heaven. If excessive calories aren’t your thing they also have tasty lamb skewers and salads, but seriously though get the Nutella. Oh and they serve alcohol too #winning
Fish, burgers, fried dimmies, potato cakes and desserts this place does it all! These aren’t your standard old school fish and chip shop burgers either, the Ingredients were all fresh, high quality and extremely well presented. Highly recommend finishing your meal off with a Nutella donut or deep fried mars bar!
If you're after a place that has fish and chips and more, then this is your place to go too. They have such a wide variety of food and I must say that I love all of them. Especially the flake 👍👍👍
Fresh beef and great beef. The beef is of a quality cut. Goes down a treat and there are plenty of options for you and your other half to enjoy for lunch and dinner.
Ordered the fish and chips with calamari and prawn and the beef bacon burger. The Fish is one of the best ones I’ve had in Melbourne. The prawn was nice crisp and meaty. Two of the calamari rings were a bit soggy but one of the calamari is nice and crispy. The burger was nice and juicy and bun tasted fresh! The chips were also slightly soggy. But overall a very good place when you’re craving some good fish and and chips.
More than just your average fish and chip shop, Dlish also have a wicked range of BURGERS! They source their beef from one of Melbourne's best butches and they cook bacon to a fine crisp. A big difference between Dlish and most other fish and chip places is Dlish have a whole gluten free range! Potato cakes, fries, dim sims and fish can all be battered in gluten-free batter and are fried in a separate area to keep from contamination. Do not leave Dlish without getting dessert - Fries Nutella balls!!!

Absolutely amazing the food was great went on Sunday expecting to wait for ages only waited about 20 minutes and the food was amazing and cheap!
Absolutely delightful fish and chip shop! It has a great atmosphere being in such a location to overlook the bay and was buzzing with customers! The chips were almost perfect! Hot and crunchy with a handful of soft ones and sprinkled with just enough salt. If you're in the area I'd highly recommend popping in!
Overall the food and service was average, it wasn't bad but nothing special either. It is very much a standard fish and chip shop. The chips are the standard hot chips you would get in any suburban fish and chip shop. There is no option for a fish/chip/salad pack which most eateries would offer, so I had to buy everything individually and ended up spending a lot more. On the plus side, they have a good variety including salt and pepper calamari, different types of hamburgers, a few pre-made salads and they serve some basic alcohol.
I have been here before and it used to be better. This shop used to have a name for itself but it hasn't kept up with the times. Food/service needs a bit of an upgrade. Tables need to be wiped down between customers.

Amazing Calamari, so moist and easy to bite through! Fried or grilled. Chips were good, but the calamari seriously was the best I ever had.
So happy stopped by here before taking trip to Tassie
Reasonable price...great location..especially if u have your dinner during sunset...golden colored sky and its reflection from the crystal clear sea makes u feel amazing....all kind of fish are really fresh...service and team are awesome...and i need to tell u that i love the veg burger..too....have been there many times...and i will go again....worth trying....
One of my favourite places to go and have fish and chips and sit on one of the benches and watch the sunset. Love the fish and chips I found fish was very fresh. Has a variety of beverages and serves cider as well. The place does get very busy on the weekend so you do have to wait in a small line. enjoyed the fish and chips and sitting outside.👌
This place would have to be the best fish and chips in Melbourne. I have been to many great fish and chips around Australia and I would say this by far one of the best ones I have been too. The fish is amazing. The scallops are amazing. And the burgers best burger I have had
Best burger in Melbourne!! We've been on the lookout for the best burger in Australia. This comes second best. The burger buns are fantastic. If you love your burgers then try The Burger. Fantastic!!!
My friend and l took 7 kids with us to D’Lish Fish for dinner last night. It was absolutely divine. We had the burgers, calamari rings, chips, flake, fish and chips. It was the best fish and chips we have had. The kids loved it just as much as we did. Will definitely go there again as we normally visit Luna Park and are baffled where to go for dinner with the kids, the restaurants nearby are way too pricey. This was perfect. Delicious food, reasonably priced. Oh did l forget to mention they have the BEST BURGERS EVER. Thank you for a great experience we will be visiting you again in the nearby future.
Decent fish in excellent batter. Lots of old people so the queue moves slowly but the cooking takes even longer (big kitchen but not many staff) so don't stress. The prices are quite reasonable. The seats are often full but everything is served in cardboard so you can just walk over to the water. When you see the terrible reviews for other restaurants in the area, your best option might just be fish and chips by the water.
First time to D'Lish Fish. We felt like burgers on the day, gave the 'fish burger' and 'the burger' a try. One thing that stood out for us was the amazing burger buns- delicious! We enjoyed our burgers with a side of chips. We loved the fact even though it was busy we didn't wait long for our food. We are looking forward to go back and trying other menu items.
The fish and chips are so good! No wonder it is so popular and ppl lines up for it! The batter are very light and crispy, chips are not overly salty! All the seafood are just so fresh, we tried flake, calamari, salt and pepper squid, grilled salmon scallop, I can feel my saliva! Absolutely lovely it! Forgot to take the photos, we sat along the seat and watched sunset, such a beautiful place! Will come back and have fish and chips!
Fresh seafood and good batter. Defs in our top 5 fish n chips locations. I have been to this fosh and chios place for many years and i stopped going there due to the fact we moved house. Today we returned many years after the last visit and it is still how i remembered it .
Really nice fish and chips. Crisp chips, light and crunchy batter on thick flake and well grilled Blue Grenadier. The fish cake was even light and soft inside with a crispy crumb. All round a very pleasant (if decidedly unhealthy) meal. Setting wasn't bad either with the sun dipping below the horizon over the water.
First time eating here. Had calamari and chips. Calamari had a lovely crumbly crispy coating and was very tender and perfectly cooked. Really delicious. Chips were good too. Finished with passion fruit sorbet - again very tasty not too sweet. The location is great but popular places can sometime be disappointing. I was pleasantly surprised. Very good.
The best fried fish in Melbourne. Excellent value and the kitchen work hard to get the food out fast and with care. Tables provided but not really a restaurant experience - better to take out and eat by the sea nearby.
The Good: Best burger in Melbourne!
The Bad: if you're going to charge such those prices then you must get eftpos.
The flake was wonderfully fresh with no hint of fishiness, perfectly cooked inside and coated with a crisp, light batter. Delicious.
This was lunch at D'Lish Fish some weeks ago (or actually, 2 months ago), after attending Sunday mass at St. Joseph. We ordered grilled salmon, 1 on its own for me ($8.90), and 1 salmon pack ($12.50 with minimum chips and 2 pcs calamari) for O. That was a
Fantastic chips. Chips great. Tasty fish. Short wait. Good stuff.
Great fresh food. This place is my weekly pilgrimage. Love the gym pack with grilled fish, brown rice, and beetroot and feta salad. Yum..
In my top 3 for fish and chip places in Melbourne. Great portions and the quality if fish is also great! Highly recommend.
Every time we order or eat in, it's always fresh and the flake is so crispy and best batter around town! Salmon pack also a good way to go! We end up here weekly! So good! Best fish and chips in port!
Very nice. We chose to visit as staying nearby and they also had gluten-free batter for one of our friends. Calamari rings tender and flavoursome, salmon grilled to order and a large serving. Otherwise a nice fish and chip shop, you can sit inside comfortably. Service was fine. Happy to return.
Best fish and chips ever!. I've eaten here a few times and each time I've thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Great battered fish, not greasy at all. The scallops were delicious and the potato cakes and dim sims were tasty. We love to take our fish and chips and eat on the beach on a warm summer's evening. Can't beat it!
Fried flake was amazing it melted in my mouth. I love this place.
Best fish and chips that i have had. Definitely a place the wife and i return to consistently. Priced well, wont put a dent in your pocket or leave you hungry. If anything you wish you had space for more!
Have the fish. Perfect batter and fresh juicy fish, great value, fresh and fast
Definitely one of the best flakes I've had in Australia. The batter is perfect and not oily. Never had crumbed battered scallops before however these were great as the texture of the crumb with the roe blends in well. The service is great, clean, fast and the staff are quite friendly. This place is buzzing during the day and is located in a beautiful part of Port Melbourne where you can take the kids & pets for a walk. Definitely will be back....worth every dollar spent!!
Great, happy, friendly. Food was wonderful (presented nicely, served well and tasted great) and really well priced. Awesome view sitting outside and friendly staff that greeted and served well. Would recommend to all types of people. Would like to come back for beers or ice cream in summer and in the evening. Heaps of food per meal for under $25
Sunday dinner. Plenty of dine in seating. Friendly service who was helpful.
Good menu array of your standard fish and chips plus beef and chicken burgers.
I went for beef burger and shared chips, or 1kg of chips which was enough for two.
The beef burger was quite nice, probably I would say the best fish n chip burger I have had.
Chips your average style fish n chippery style.
Well recommended for a dine in or take away experience.
Ideally located in Port Melbourne's most vibrant zone, D'Lish offers a broad range of deliciously cooked fish and Chips.
The ambience setting is very welcoming, with eat in and outdoor facilities.
Service is fast and friendly.
Definitely a great place to catch a bite of some delicious fish.
This place lives up to its name - D'Lish! I've never had Blue Grenadier before, I'm normally basic and get whatever "Cod" is being sold. But this fish is similar to "Cod" but fresher and tastier. The batter is light and crispy. Probably the best Battered Prawns I've ever had in my life! Value for money is outstanding and the staff are great. Highly recommended!
I've had the pleasure of eating here twice this summer. Delicious and fresh fish. Chips are crispy and cooked to perfection. The crispy chicken burger is to die for. The service is always friendly.
Service were fast & friendly
Food fresh especially the fish
Calamari melted in your mouth with being so tender 😋
Chips were semi ok, but still nice
Batter were over cooked, one should not kill the fish & batter by over cooking it as too much oil soaks into the batter and you can tell its cooked too long or on too high due to the over cooked colouring!
But it's a good feed and we're fresh!
Shame you couldn't sit in the shop out of the wind to eat
Excellent service, calamari rings were fantastic, and flake, chips and potato cakes were really good as well!
