Review Desi Dhaba - Melbourne

Rohit Vipat
We had been travelling in Australia for over 15 days and it has been an absolute delight eating here for last 2 nights. Thanks to our host Rajpreet Singh for sharing his suggestion and recommendations. I recommend to anyone who loves Indian food and in Melbourne ... This is a must visit food junction.

Everything here was just amazing. Malai chicken tikka was really creamy & luscious. Highly recommended. Tandoori chicken was a little dry & hard. Not recommended. Butter chicken was again very flavoursome & is highly recommended. Saag chicken definitely reminded me of a lot greens. The flavour of palak (spinach) was on point with that of chicken. Highly recommended Naan was fine too!

Lovely ambience, great food and the staff that served us was a delight. Wish i knew his name so i could give him a shout out (tall guy that got my chilli chicken changed). Food was authentic and very home like. Just a bit stuffy with the door closed but it’s ok. Will be back.

I like the ambience of Desi Dhaba. As the name it gives the feeling of being at a restaurant in India. Veg platter is our mandatory order during the visit. Tasty food and fast service.

Very authentic North Indian food. Loved their food and service too was pretty good. I got the chole bhature and the bhatura swad not large sized pooris but the real deal (well almost). Highly recommend malai chicken as well as butter chicken!! Truly finger licking good! Would definitely go back there again.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was nice. Some meat was tender. Some meat was hard. Some biryani rice was white and some biryani rice tasted like biryani.
Shina Shresth
I ordered online delivery for Goat curry, rice and naan. The curry was good but I am giving only 3 stars for the naan roti. It was a shabby roti with a massive hole in the middle. I was not happy to see the naan roti. Could have done better!

Best Indian restaurant in Melbourne for sure. Had the Goat Vindaloo, Paneer Makhani, and the Chilli Paratha. Service was spot on as well; Really quick and waiters were super friendly as well!
Amma
Good food, fair pricing compared to the Indian restaurants around. The seating area is also huge so if you visit this place with a group it shouldn’t be a problem. But if you’re looking for a fine-dining, this is not the place.

As soon as you’re waking up Flinders St just follow the lovely scent of Indian spices and it will lead you into a world of authentic Bollywood Indian pop culture and cuisine. This place I randomly came across and now do I dare say it, is absolutely amazing and delicious!

The service staff very friendly and knew exactly what was on the menu and could explain each dish. Came out very fast. I couldn’t believe my senses; all these new smells. I will be back! To try further dishes.
Fátima Haider
Love the staff! Definitely coming again for more butter chicken and naan, thanks guys :-)

It’s been awhile that we don’t have indian food and today we found this place for dinner. We had butter chicken, paneer saag, cheese naan, garlic naan, and we also tried coke masala.. the butter chicken is really nice, it has a slightly spicy taste which i like the most. The paneer and naan was okay too. Coke masala was surprise us caused it just unique to drink coke with some masala and some spices but it was alright as well.
Overall, it’s 3.5 out of 5 for me. Reasonable price with deceptive portion 😆

One of the best butter chicken i had

This is a true dhaba! Nearly perfect experience and will definitely be back

Worst Biryani ever had in life.
Laxman Nagtilak
All items are sweet and doesn't match to the Desi taste. spicy paneer was also non spicy. Naan was not soft.It was very disappointing meal. It deserve zero star but zomato doesn't have option to give zero star.

Worst Food. Spoilt the day

Went there by afternoon 1:15.
Ordered Dhaba style paneer with cheese naan
Order took nearly half an hour to come and the gravy had soo much artificial color which was harsh on stomach and even difficult to chug in.
Cheese naan had no sign of cheese at all. Legit waste of money.
Asked for lemon and they ran of it. How do you guys run a bar without having lemon on the house?
Highly inconsistent food everytime.
Highly disappointing. Never going again.

Absolutely amazing place for Indian food, very authentic and friendly staff. Highly recommended. Will definitely visit again.

You want some of the best Indian Food and Alcohol, The Dhabe di daal and garlic naan! Wah it down with Weiner super strong beer

Must try phenomenal Indian food. Authentic. Delicious. Each curry tastes different. Service great. 10/10
Jeenal Prajapati
We ordered paneer tikka masala which was very liquidy and watery in texture.. taste was horrible and naan was so chewy... it’s bad experience. I would not recommend this place to go again...
Awesome food... I had visited this place many times and always they offer variety of tasty food .. Excellent customer service. I am never bored of having food at Desi Dhaba
Bunga Matahari
I must say this is one of the best indian food I've ever tried. As soon as I step into the restaurant you will notice a nice sweet/bbq smell. I had butter chicken and it was divide, sweet, thick and creamy and the chicken is super tender.

I would say the price is abit on the expensive side, around $15 for butter chicken excluding rice/naan.

Will definitely come back again💖

Food was decent. However, they did not accept Zomato Gold even though we had only 1 Zomato Gold between 3 people. They told us that they were trying to get out of the Zomato Gold program; however, they are still part of Zomato Gold. Thus, I felt cheated by them and would not return to this restaurant.

Excellent food and excellent service. Satisfied and happy tummy 👍🏼 if it’s your first time like me, just ask them what’s their best selling. No regrets

Desi Dhaba is the place to be when you want to enjoy some amazing hot North Indian cuisine. This place never disappoints and people here are very friendly.
Keep up the good work. Cheers!!
Great service
Nice food

I ordered 4 dishes - Chandigari Chicken tikka masala plate, Bhindi Masala, Aloo Paratha and some extra rotis.

Chandigari Tikka Masala was really good. Chicken was perfectly tender and full of flavours. Gravy was perfectly complementing the chicken.

Bhindi Masala was awesome. Very tasty with reasonable amount of oil. Impressed!

Aloo Paratha was mind blowing. It was so delicious that you can easily have it without any veggies/chutneys/pickle.

Rotis were as soft as expected.

Thanks Desi Dhaba. The food was worth the money. Cheers!

Tried tandori platter , chicken tikka masala and two cocktails one was named Aashiqui and other one was something with Taquila and beer mixture sorry don’t remember the name . Platter was good . Naan were over priced . Cocktails were not good . Felt little pricy as per the quantity and quality.
Parul Aggarwal
Horrible food. Even worst cocktails. I could barely taste alcohol on mine. Don't call them with Indian names when you can't justify the flavours. The cocktails have no Indian flavour.
Ozzy Kunnu
Famished, and after much confusion we decided to do Indian.Didnt have too many option to choose from, and Desi Dhaba looked best out of the lot (also because we kept seeing their advertisement at Hoyts Cinemas)....and also this one was a part of Zomato Gold membership.

In the mood to have Biryani, we ordered two Chicken Biryani and a Amritsar Fish. To be honest quite disappointed.

Amritsari Fish was all chilly powder and Zero flavors. Chicken Biryani was at least decent to taste but extremely greasy.....we could have easily cooked enough chicken in that much oil to make two more biryanis.

Attendants are very courteous and quick although they weren't too sure of their Zomato Gold Membership. After few minutes of confusion everything went quite smoothly.

My favourite place to grab a late night feast in the Melbourne CBD, food is always beyond delicious not to mention the staff go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your experience, ambience is wonderful too!! Highly recommend!!

Love love love Desi Dhaba!!

Visited desi dhaba for Indian food cravings. Our experience turned out to be a good one. Loved their food as well as the cocktails. Would definitely visit again.

The food is very good, affordable and excellent service, really recommended, Buffet has a wide variety of option, and if you like spicy food, Try the Dum Biryani.

If you are going to this restaurant as a zomato gold partnered then please dont go there.. as when i dined there today their representative said they are not with zomato gold partnered and didnt get the deal which i expected.. food wise its okay!!
Ah look, I always try to highlight positives in my reviews about the places and the food as its something that is so subjective and depends on person to person, I am also a frequent user of services like zomato gold and the Fork, basically any apps that allow to try new places with some discounts as incentives and this led me to feeling like trying out Desi Dhaba.
We went there, I took 5 of my friends, got a table, had a look at the menu and I was say I was excited, we were looking to order 2 chhole bhatures, seekh kebabs, aloo parathas and maybe a few other things and this is when it went all downhill.

I mentioned to the staff that I have zomato gold and showed them the voucher-ID number, firstly they said right after looking at it that that voucher can't be used on our order as it applies to only a few select dishes (which is against the zomato fineprint), when I pointed out that it categorically states that it applies to all the dishes (except the banquet and all), they said they'll have to confirm with the manager, upon returning, the staff said that they do not do zomato gold and completely refused to acknowledge the voucher-ID, they instead said 'if you have a problem, you can go to the manager and ask him' I then thought about it for a minute, now there were 2 issues that I had with this-

1) they made it sound like I had to go and beg for a complimentary dish which I have never felt over the last 3 years of using services of these apps(zomato, fork, groupon).

2) we saw the manager setting up a table next to ours and he didn't feel necessary to even look at us or come over to offer an explanation.

after feeling embarrassed enough, we just decided to cancel our order and leave.

my issue is this-
the restaurant said they they do not acknowledge zomato gold, then i'm not sure why it is displaying on the gold restaurant list, now I am not sure if it is an error on the restaurant's part or zomato gold's part, lets give the benefit of the doubt to the manager here and say that zomato was in the wrong here, but I was still a customer sitting in his restaurant and the situation could have been handled more professionally and respectfully.

I hope my experience was a one-off and others have a more positive opinion but after lodging an incident with Zomato(assuming zomato is at fault here) I hope they sort this out and this doesn't happen to anyone else.

BE AWARE ZOMATO GOLD MEMBERS!

this restaurant doesn't comply to the guideline provided by Zomato. Visited with my friend but the manager kept trying to make a shady deal to not give us what we were promised. He kept denying the guideline on Zomato Gold app despite of him reading the exact same guideline on the pamphlet he got from Zomato. Wasted more than 30 minutes dealing with this and ended up leaving in distress.

Be honest. Be fair.
Deepak Sud
Manager did not follow instructions of Zomato gold and was trying to give a 3 dollar dish for free instead of the curries ordered after waiting and arguing the terms and conditions of Zomato gold which is very clear and simple to follow manager still refused to comply with the promotional website for this reason we decided to leave the restaurant and do not plan to return ever horrible experience and I highly recommend any gold member thinking twice before ordering as you will get ripped off and have to argue with a brick wall

Had been to this place with my friend, Trust me you don't miss home food here, the food was awesome must try Gosh lamb masala. Very friendly experience, thank you team for wonderful food, simply loved it..

Ordered non veg entrees via UberEats tonight & oh what a bad decision it was. Generally I am against food wastage but it was so bad we had no choice but to throw it all & eat Indomie. Ordered a full tandoori chicken, dhabey da tikka & malai tikka for around $50. Quite hard to say which one was the worst of all as all of the entrees were supremely bad. There were absolutely no flavours & the tasteless marinate masala was just slapped onto the chicken in bulks. Accompanying chutney was quite bland too. I am surprised the Chef served something this horrible, disappointing. Please investigate.

Definitely not recommended if you want edible food.

This place has both pros and cons.

Pros: Visited during a busy Friday night and service was reasonably quick. The food was truly delicious. Curries were flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. No excessive use of sugar in food which many Indians places tend to do. It’s a pet peeve for me so was glad that the food was authentic. The plain naan was very good. Didn’t like the garlic naan though because of the weird garlicky paste applied on it. The paan kulfi was amazing.

Cons: Hygiene standards are not great. The floor was slick with oil, might even be a hazard. The carpets are beyond disgusting. Completely saturated with grease, when I stepped on it, it felt squishy. The toilets were really, really messy and dirty. The plates when they arrived as well seemed like they weren’t so very clean, I had to give it a wipe.

This place could be the best Indian restaurant in Melbourne based on the food alone but they really need to up their game when it comes to hygiene otherwise it sours the experience.

I visited Desi Dhaba last friday. It was a very busy night considering it was the start of the long weekend. Even though it was a rush, the place was well managed. I didn't have to wait long for my order. The lady serving me was very friendly and suggested me some of their best dishes. It turned out to be amazing. Overall, the staff and the manager was very professional and I cannot wait to go back there.

Over the top masala in food plus burning a whole your pocket (and stomach) just seems like a good idea but isn't after you are done with it. Food is average and ambience is worse. I have been to better dhabas in India then this place. The floors is sticky and toilets.. just don't ask.
Padam Nigam
Nice place to pamper your taste buds with some Desi food in a desi ambience.

Had Samosas followed by Paneer Tikka Butter Masala with Naan.
Samosa was ok but Curry was good and Naan was better.

Here goes my rating
Food - 3.5/5
Ambience - 3.5/5
Service - 4/5
Location - 5/5
On Pocket - 4/5

Recommended for casual dine in.

Amazing place and delicious food. Quick and very polite staff girls. Excellent service. Must try chilli chicken in this cold weather of Melbourne. Loved it. Will come soon

Some Bunee Loves Food
It took a while to get my lunch from meal pal from this place. Another guy was waiting for his too. It was meant to be a naan bread with butter chicken on rice. The butter chicken was a bit too strong in flavor and I only finished half.
Arun Jose
It’s a very good place. I normally eat lunch buffet there and it’s a totally Indian style buffet. Food taste is very good and food is fresh as well. The staff and reception guy is excellent and they look after you very well. It’s a place I will return again and again. The only bad Mark is may be, in buffet, sometimes some pots looks empty as refills take a bit of time but rest assured it will get refilled. So 4 stars from me and a good place. The ambiance is not so much wonderful and of course it’s not fine dining
Madiha Naaz Khan
It is good food and the price range is also good but not great i would say. The great thing about this is that it is located near flinder street station. Otherwise overall it is good.

Just went for dinner with fam and Had an amazing night with delicious food along with great customer service. This restaurant makes you feel as if you are back to india with the interior designs and environment. And the girl named Priyanka is such a gem with pure skills of handling a customer politely.
Would recommend everyone to try this place atleast once!!!

Recommended by North Indian Coworker next door to try their food. I was hungry to the core since I need to work 12 hours I was almost starving. Rarely I eat in Indian diners in Australia.

I usually go for the salads and fruits to survive during my work hours and cook traditional food in Home- Its can be North Indian or my origin South Indian-Tamil food.

Went with Huge expectations and ordered-Mixed veggie Korma. The result was some kind burnt greasy oil overloaded in all dish with super low quantity for the price could feel the ingredients and

Lame recipe cooked with the overdone spice formula with overcooked soggy oil base..

Hospitality- Waiter staff are rude and felt like finishing the dish and running out of the venue.. Waiter did not ask anything about the bread.I said NAAN. I was given a thin dosa kind of NAAN drenched with butter and coriander garnish on the bread were burnt. Waiter did not mention if butter needs to be added or not.Shocking..

This is not a proper authentic North Indian food eatery without passion. Well they do not know what they are doing.
Overall- Wasted 13.50 for a dumped BASMATI rice & a bread and some few vegetables soaked in oil.

Will not visit a again to get RIpped off and to get humiliated.

Highly not recommended.

An Punjabi kitchen address in Melbourne is one of the popular addresses to many Indians Chinese and Aussies..Mr. Akash the owner of the property take special care supported by his group of people from Punjab.. ladies finger rechristened Bendy masala , cottage cheese with capsicum and yellow dal curry go well with whole wheat roti ...Food is delicious apart from personalised customer care ...though the prices are a Little higher side nothing wrong to give a try... when placing order please mention your choices of salt , the spice to ensure you are comfortable with the foot zone

Me and my friends always go to desi dhaba amd its an amazing place. The staff is very friendly and fast.
Would highly recommend for indian food.

Unfortunately there is no option to give 0 stars. Just terrible food, extremely oily & we had to throw away our take away from here. Very disappointed after seeing pics & reviews. For sure I will avoid this place in future. See pics for what we got 🤮
YumYum
First time at DD and I have to say it was very disappointing. I think more disappointing that anything was that it was a birthday dinner that my friends organised and let me pick the restaurant. I had heard of DD but never been so I thought let’s give it a try .

I have not given less than 3 stars in a while as I don’t consider myself a demanding patron but for me customer service is extremely important.

Three of us dined there and I cannot quite understand why it took half an hour for our order to be taken .. that includes drinks. My friend actually got up and asked the waiter if we could order,I was mortified having chosen the restaurant. This should never happen. After finally ordering, the food took quite some time to come. My other friend was missing her roti which we asked for 3-4 times. She also ordered a goat curry which unfortunately was mainly bones with barely any meat. The two veggie dishes we ordered were nice as well as the naan breads that was probably the only positive of the night.

Given this was a birthday dinner I really felt gutted by this experience. Then after we got up to leave we walked exactly the same way we came in and realised the walkway had been changed and was now blocked. So we had to ask someone to move their chair and we were met by such rudeness by that patron we couldn’t believe what was happening.

Such a disappointing experience. I am not telling people to avoid this restaurant as I always believe you should make your own views. But we won’t go back. I do hope they can improve their customer service.
YUM
When I visit restaurants, I evaluate both service and food. This place just doesn't hit the mark in either domain. Almost a week after the fact, I'm still bitter (so that must mean something!) I don't understand how this place scored an average rating of four, as it's an absolute circus in my opinion - and the food is nothing to rave about. Three of us dined here, and waited half an hour just to have our orders taken. The place wasn't even busy - wait staff seem to specialize in ignoring their patrons. After eating our entree, we were told mains were on their way. This resulted in another 30 minute wait. We also ordered roti, which didn't arrive. It only arrived after we asked staff for it, not once but three times. They did take this item off the bill to their credit. Toilets were less than hygienic, which could speak volumes as to how clean this place actually is. To top it off, we encountered a rude patron who refused to move her chair to allow us to walk through to exit the restaurant. I have never encountered such a rude person in my life. I know that her actions aren't a reflection of the restaurant, but it really topped off an already dismal time. It also begs the question as to why staff would block a walkway in the first place? Don't think I'll return.

Nothing went right for me with this place.
Day 1 I reached this place at 1.40 am(their closing time is 2am) and i was told that the kitchen closes at 1.30am. I was disappointed visiting them all the way from Sydney but thanks to Hungry jacks.
Next afternoon i ordered sarson da saag, makki roti and masala kulcha. Saag was average (didnt find butter in it), makki roti was good but too thin. Masala kulcha was the most disappointing and bland and had just Alu and pyaz in it...Where's the masala?
At night i couldnt try their banquet as it requires minimum 2 persons and just ordered dal makhni which was again okayish but my butter roti i guess was lying there in the kitchen and wasnt hot.
On both my visits i had to atleast wait for 25 mins for the food to be served.
Wont give another shot. But, thanks for the flexibility in operating hours.

Gastronome
After reading the reviews we were keen to try the food. We ordered dal makhani and butter chicken with some garlic naans and lachcha parantha through Uber eats. The dal makhani was pretty good and the breads too. I had asked for the chicken to be spicy as I like it that way however to make it spicy I dint expect putting half a box of chilli powder straight into the curry to make it spicy. The chicken pieces were marinated well and were tender however the curry just tasted of red chilly powder and I had a burning feeling in my stomach for about 2-3 hours. Despite of the potential, it was a fairly bad experience.

I was in Melbourne for a office meeting thus I had visited "Desi dhaba" multiple times for lunch and dinner.

I had tried multiple dishes, however my personal favorite is "Chandigarh Chicken Tikka Butter Masala" along with Dal-n-rice.

Quantity is enough for two and food is lip-smacking.

Staff [ specially thanks to Manpreet ] who always welcomed me with smile [good vibes] and ensured that food is tasty & served as quickly as possible

Thank you for good food and amazing vibes
[Only for management: Please make sure your first AC is repaired/ replaced and working properly]

Don’t ever eat Briyani here. It’s very disappointing. Ordered Chicken Briyani and there was no chicken in it and Briyani masala. Maybe it’s not there specialty.

The next time I am in Melbourne I will go here again!!

Beautiful Ambience - reminiscent of Dhabas back in India. Right on Flinders Street. We went here on a hot afternoon and were offered a table right by the bar.

The courteous server got us our menu. We ordered for Chilli Paneer, Fried Rice and Veg Noodles. I also ordered the salt Lassi they have. Believe you me, not one thing disappointed us. We were delighted to find food as tasty as we have had back in India.

Cottage Cheese in the Chilli Paneer was soft, smooth, well cooked and had the right amount of spice in it. Fried Rice was done quite well. Enjoyed the Noodles like never before. The Lassi was the best part of it all, given that it was a hot afternoon.

As I said before, will be back here again next time I am in Melbourne!

I love dining at this place. The food is so delicious and not overpriced for its quality. The staff are very lovely especially Vishwas who always gives us extra special treatment with a very big smile on his face. I totally recommend this place :)
Exceptional Indian restaurant in the heart of Melbourne.

Wasn’t sure whether I should mention first how good the food was, or how friendly and professional the staff are.

Been coming here for a number of years, and while I have never posted a review for any other restaurant, wanted to say a few words about this place because it’s so good, and I just keep coming back.

The food is authentic, you can always pop in for a quick curry when you’re passing by, or can hang out for a couple of hours and enjoy the range of amazing food and BYO drinks.

Also a quick shout-out to Vishwas, who always has a genuine smile and professional demeanor.

Five stars from me.

I have been visiting this place from 3yrs. One the best ambience and excellent food with awesome service. Vishwas makes me more comfortable....I almost tried every dish over here all are excellent and goes with the taste one wants. I would highly recommend this place as they provide the quick service and one must try the buffet (Monday to friday) from 11am to 2pm and the best thing about this restaurant is that it opens till late night
Shana Chand
Went there for the first time recently had the best tawa chicken ever! However the mango lassi was warm and the tables were a bit dirty but would 10/10 recommend the food

I went for dinner to Desi Dhaba and i enjoyed the hospitality..the restaurant was busy; however the manager Mr.Pardeep was very polite and attended to our requests. Overall i had quite a good experience at the restaurant..!!

The food is always amazing. Whenever I crave for Indian food I go to this place. They are authentic in taste. The ambiance is not so good also need improvements in cleaning but I will rate it 4 just for the awesome food.
Nishtha Khandelwal
This is a good place with good food. The best part of this place is that it is open till late on night. Good location and ambience. The only drawback of this place is that you need to go at the counters and pay even if you are in between of your food. Who gets up in between of his or her food and order. This is not customer service they should work in this rest is good
Live For Food
Nice location .Seating arrangement is good it gives you home away from home felling.Food is good .we have ordered entree Paneer Tikka,Mushrooms tikka .Paneer tikka was perfectly cooked but Mushrooms was over salty ,Soggy and not cooked well.We have ordered two curries one with paneer and the other with vegetables both were perfect in taste.Nan was so stiff and burnt.kind of ok. Experience .Service was two slow even though not busy
Swati121994
Desi Dhaba is combination of great food with excellent customer service. Highly recommended to everyone looking out for great evening. The another best thing about the restaurant is that it’s very near by flinder street station so quite easy accessible.

I would love to give this place a better review than this. Have been there a regular for 3 years, but on 1st december 2018, such appalling and ungrateful attitude was shown by the duty manager Vishwas at that time. Literally lost your loyal customers. Know all the staff and Akash personally, but that night duty manager's attitude will stop me coming to this restro again. If in case I pay a visit again, i would like to discuss this issue with Akash or Rohit first and then think about dine in.
Penelope
Ive lowered my review because of the inconsistencies in the service at desi dhaba.

We eat there a lot, previously we’ve been there and as our curries have come out we’ve been informed there’s no rice, we’ve also gone multiple times and told there’s no soft drink. The flavours of the curries Are hit or miss and change daily, literally. We went one day and had the best paneer makhani we’ve ever eaten in Melbourne and then bought a friend the next day and the curry was very average.

today we ordered a cheese naan, when it came out it looked like a paneer paratha. I asked the waitress and she said it wasn’t a paratha it was a cheese naan. We get our bill and it’s listed as a paneer paratha and the waitress claims they no longer make the cheese naan as offered on the menu, I asked when it changed and she said she didn’t know. Ok that’s fine, but why not offer a regular naan, why lie to your customers about what they’re eating? I wouldn’t usually bother to update my review due to a muck up but something like this happens every time we eat at desi dhaba which is a shame because the food can be delicious
Resmy Chandrika
Had been to this place today to have dinner.Nice ambience, good food. We ordered butter naan, daal bhendi masala & paneer. Daal & bhendi were exceptionally good.Reasonable pricing too...
Bhakti Dedhia
Authentic Punjabi food in Melbourne.
We had Manchurian starters and paneer vindaloo.
Masala kulcha is fab here.
However, there are only 4 choices of deserts.. So we had ordered kulfi but they didn't have it.

Overall ratings :
Food:4/5
Ambience : 5/5 (Bollywood feel)
Service : 4/5.

Our lunch arrive after 50 minutes because we complained after asking 3 times. The manager convinced us to stay and brought the food. He also give us extra things as a way to apologise BUT when he asked about our nationality told us that we were DANGEROUS PEOPLE. What a dis respectful comment. Totally disappointed with this place.
Karishma Handa
I went with my friend, and was immediately greeted by friendly staff, moreover meal was too good specially the dhaba Daal...(Daal Makhni). Totally satisfied with the service and food. 😄😄
Anu Kailash
Aakash is such a humble host! Had some homely sarson da saag and makki di roti along with missi roti reminded me of my mums home cooked food. Will definitely go back!
Kavi
The food was delicious and so filling. Great service too. The banquet was a great deal - well worth the price. We didn’t get our raita and pickles, and the dessert options were a little limited, but that was no biggie as everything tasted amazing. So full and can’t breathe hahahahaha

After living in this city for almost 3 months, my first visit to Desi Dhaba didn’t make me miss home food at all! The best Indian food I have had in the city! Everything we ordered was delectable and finger licking good! My friends and I ordered Palak Paneer, Paneer Tikka with Garlic Naan. The vegetarian selection is quite varied which is great for a vegetarian like me who is having trouble with finding delicious veg food. My friends ordered Fish Chilly which according to them was delicious. All in all it’s a must visit for anyone who is craving delicious Indian food!

It's like after a long time I've tasted the spices of India. Punjabi chicken curry and mutton curry were really awesome. The platter was the best I've tasted here in Melbourne till date. The environment and staff were really welcoming but the only disappointment was the biryani, it was as spicy as expected. Although my overall experience in desi dhaba was great
