Have been to the Lane Restaurant a few times now and have always enjoyed the meals.
On this occasion we had the platter for two consisting of two mini cheese burgers, pulled pork and chicken wings. The platter was $39 however there portion size was quite large.
The chicken wings are a bit spicy so you might inform the waiter if you cannot take the heat. The menu changes and soft shell crab baos were offered so we ordered a serve which comes with two for $21. The other dish we had was the fish and chips. We enjoyed all the dishes and probably ordered too much and we left no room for dessert.
I’ve dine here during my wedding anniversary and I can say I was not disappointed. Service was outstanding. They make sure you are looked after. We ordered the Laneway platter and the dumplings for entree. We were already stuffed up before our mains. Decent servings and it was excellent. The pork belly bites were our instant favourite. Our mains consist of the Barramundi and the eye fillet. Both were cooked to perfection. At the end of the night, we were surprised with a anniversary dessert platter from the staff. What a sweet gesture! It was a great experience and we are feel valued.
Lane Restaurant is in the Novotel hotel and its part of the Accor group. They do breakfast buffet as well as a la carte brunch, lunch and dinner. Here it was quiet at 11:50am when I came as they had just finished breakfast. Moreover the staff were really slow at taking my order and giving it. It took them five minutes to take my order and 25 mins to wait for a salmon bagel with scrambled eggs.
It's located on level 3 of Novotel Hotel on collins street in melbourne. I had Lane Continental buffet 29.50 also dinner.
Lane cafe is open 7 days from 6am.

There were enough food(not So many but enough^^), enough variation and satisfied with the price and service. The staff were friendly.
I like the omlet and eggs scrumble. Very soft, simple and nice. They have salad, pancake, yogrut, fruit, pastry section too.
The food was keep coming and fresh.

The portion was large and lamb was tender and delicious. Not awesome but good for me.

I ended my day at the Food & Wine show at The Lane @ Novatel. I loved every dish that came out it was fantastic and was not expecting it at all. It will cost a bit but the food is really well made and it showed effort.
The restaurant itself was massive, it's kind of a bar and restaurant in one. The staff were absolutely fantastic, very friendly, helpful and had time for you, very impressed indeed. I'll go back for sure.
