I went for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night with 20 people. The service was good, though some of my friends didn't like the way the waiter ran away after we ordered entrees, to quickly tell the chefs to make them. I actually found that sweet. So overall, the service way good.
I ordered a mushroom risotto, which was delicious. Everyone was happy with their meals, despite them being overpriced.
Overall, I had a really lovely Italian dinner and was very happy with the night.
After a long drive to Carlton and ages to find a park we stumbled upon this little beauty. My wife and I agree one of the best meals we have had. My Gnocchi Gorgonzola was about the tastiest dish I've ever had. Light fluffy and that sauce....... Food 5. Atmosphere 5. Service 5. This was a perfect evening for us. Thank you. We will be back.
I came down on holidays and wanted to experience lygon street, and a lovely gentleman encouraged us to dine at his restaurant as they do- and boy am I glad we did! We ordered the olive tapenade which was superb and the homemade gnocchi after torturous deliberation trying to decide on a main. It was unbelievably fresh and delicate and all round amazing! The sauce was so good and serving size incredible.
My praise continues with the service- we weren't rushed or fed our courses straight after another so that we didn't have a chance to chat and digest. It was the perfect spacing and as if they intuitively knew when we had a question or wanted to order.
The pricing was very fair and the devour so beautiful.
I was saddened to see so few people dining there (I suppose it was a Monday) as the family business was 5/5 quality! Next time I am in Melbourne I will most definitely return! I encourage any readers to not hesitate and visit!
We had the Seafood platter and the eggplant pasta to share among 3 for dinner. The seafood was fresh and beautifully cooked. The shrimps, bugs, scallops, squids and snapper were succulent and perfectly seasoned together with a bowl of mussels steamed in tomato sauce. What a feast! The eggplant pasta is amazing. It is the second time we had it and it did not disappoint. Prices are reasonable for the quality and service. More people should know about this place and come to sample its wonderful food.
We were told to visit here by a friend, who said the gnocchi was the best she'd ever tasted. We were not disappointed - it was delicious! Can't speak for the rest of the menu, but I'm sure it's up to the same standard. Our service was extremely fast, though it was a Tuesday night and not very busy.
My wife and I went on a quiet Sunday evening. I had the Linguine Marinara here. It was probably the best pasta I have ever eaten, and as a Chicago native married to a half-Italian wife, I've had a fair amount of pasta in my time. It had the perfect amount of garlic, the pasta was neither to firm or too soft, the seafood was fresh and delicious. My wife had the Pollo Funghi, and it too was amazing. I don't think I can recommend the food highly enough.
