I just visited after finding a great deal online. Totally worth it by the way! The location was a little weird but the place itself was beautiful with a nice view. I had the steak, tapas entree and a cheesecake dessert. Also the Shiraz. It was all really delicious. I guess if I hadn't bought the online deal, I may have been disappointed that the steak would have been $36 and only sat on a small serving of mash potato. But again it was all ready delicious and the staff were so nice! The food came out in in great time, pacing wise. And the wine was yummy ☺️
Visited Pier 35 on a Tuesday night with a coupon. The restaurant is fairly quiet but the services as not any short. Entree was a tasting plate which includes chicken, calamari, chorizo, arancini and beef (i think). Main we ordered seafood spaghetti and seafood paella. Dessert was panna cotta and cheesecakes. I enjoyed the entree and my seafood pasta thoroughly. There were seafood in the dish which was very generous. Portion is huge as well! Dessert was a little bit rubbery but didnt really bother me. Really good value for the voucher used! It also includes 2 glasses of wine!
Up front I will admit we came here on a Groupon voucher. I expected they may have made us feel a bit cheap, but the staff were amazing. They embraced the fact we were there and we treated most graciously. The food was fantastic and we were very well catered to and really enjoyed the night.
The voucher did its job and we will be back!...Not the most convenient location but worth the trip!..
Found this place on scoopon! Think we paid $59 for one entree, one main and one dessert each per person! If that’s not a snatch I’m not sure what is.
Very romantic experience as it is by the pier and the food was phenomenal. Would come back again 👍🏻⚡️
A friend took me to Pier 35 on some sort of coupon. How they did the meal for the price is beyond me the voucher included a glass of red or white as well. The entree and dessert is set but you have a good variety of choice for the main. We started with a mixed platter of arancini, chorizo in sauce, grilled chicken, kofta and calamari. The chicken and calamari were the best. I ordered the scotch fillet medium rare for mains and my friend had chicken scallopini and said it was great. My steak was cooked as asked with a great smokey flavour from the char grill. It was a good size but thinner than anticipated but I loved it. We ordered the pita and seasonal veggies on the side as our meals had no veggies bar mash potato. There was plenty of pita char grilled it was soft and delectable. The veggies was a small serve and not very exciting. At $9.50 I didn't see it as good value. Dessert was a cheese cake and a panna cotta both made in house as told by staff. Tried both and the panna cotta was so creamy and divine. Whereas we left most of the cheesecake it didn't rate up to the panna cotta. Overall the setting and the service was outstanding. Well worth a visit.
Pier35 is essentially located in Port Melbourne in Pier 35 hence the name.. this casual dining spot offers great views in Summer of the docks and you can see many boats parked here.. the Bar and Grill is pretty neat and the customer service was excellent.. we had a 3 course meal which consisted of a shared entree, mains of scotch fillet and seafood spaghetti.. and dessert which was cheese cake and pannacotta.. the food was pretty decent and was great for the price.. suggest that if you come here it would be preferable to go during the longer days as you get some nice views there..
Used a Groupon voucher here on a Tuesday night, it was very quiet however it lived up to my expectations. Staff were friendly and polite. The voucher included a shared plate with arancini, calamari, chicken, chorizo & chevapi. The calamari was my fave, all tasted decent though. I ordered the seafood spaghetti which was good. It had fresh seafood, cooked to perfection however the pasta itself was very buttery (could see a large amount at bottom of the bowl). My partner ordered the chicken scaloppini, I had a taste and loved how the chicken was flame grilled to give it a nice charcoal taste. It came with a mushroom sauce which was also very tasty although my partner added more salt.
We also got dessert included (we didn’t get to choose from) which was cheesecake (very average and wouldn’t recommend) and a rose water panna cotta which had a nice jiggle and taste to it
At the Pier Hotel you get much more than a ‘pub’ meal but you do pay for it.
It ticks all the boxes, great food and service and a wonderful location across from the Port Melbourne beach and, if you want, a pleasant stroll to wave goodbye to the Spirit of Tasmania.
On the downside none of the charming waitresses supported AFL; rugby was their thing but then they did add to Melbourne’s multicultural appeal!!
Bought 3 courses meal from Groupon, the food were much better than my expectations and good value, worth to give a try even pay full, nice view and atmosphere, the service was pretty good as well
food 3/5
service 4/5
environment 4/5
A nice set menu and a good river view restaurant. the food is good but the place in remote area. I like the chef choice entree, and the steak is tender and juicy tasty.
Bit if a trek and right in the hub of the port on the waters edge!! The setting if you choose to see it this way can be “romantic” or “surreal” lol depending on how drunk you are. There is virtually nothing in the surrounds! Just boats, dark roads and refineries with smoke belllowing out across a nice stretch of water in the background!! Haha
As for the food? I love it. The steak was spot on and nicely chargrilled! Simple juicy and on a bed of buttery mash!! Yum!! Not even the renowned steak houses can get to this! Okok it’s on par then ;)
I think if not for the location this place would do very well. For a Friday night it deserves more patronage!
Great food with very polite service with the odd location though it didn’t concern me at all like you can see this restaurant from the west gate bridge! I had the eye fillet steak with mushroom sauce and salad on the side and it was delicious and hospitality is great. Highly recommend here for business dinners or special dinners.
Really enjoyed the dining experience, I came on a Sunday night for a 3 course dinner. Staff were attentive, accommodating and very friendly. Food was enjoyable and well presented.
A hidden place by the waters. Nice view with a relaxing ambience where you can choose from indoor and outdoor seatings to take in the view of the pier. Staff is polite and service was excellent; since it was our first time staff took time to explain each item.
We started with the chefs platter for entree where we were presented with a mix of tapas. The steak was juicy but lacking sauce to go with it. The paella was our highlight as there was ambudance of fresh seafood and well seasoned flavourings.
We arrived for lunch on Anzac Day and the service from the staff was extremely good. Nothing was too hard for them.
We ordered the lunch specials and glad we did as it was the perfect size served.
I had the grilled with skinny chips and salad. The fish was nicely cooked grilled on one side and the salad was freshly made.
Of course, there were many drink choices.
The let down for us was dessert, $37.50 for 3 small slices of cheesecake (I suspect not made on site).
Overpriced for the portion size
In all, we had a lovely relaxing lunch
Great restaurant. Delicious food. The atmosphere felt calm and relaxed with relaxing music. I enjoyed the steak which was cooked perfectly with delicious seasoning. The bartender was so kind to give me lots of water!! Awesome place. But it was hard to find as it is hidden away in a tiny part of port Melbourne.
Having been here a few years ago to experience the best Salmon Fillet we have ever had in our lives, we were thankful to see that Groupon had a special for a 3 course meal for two at a very reasonable price- and it appeared that most diners in the restaurant were there for the deal too!
Located on the shores of Port Melbourne offering nice views for any occasion, Emily and I were excited to try out the food here after such a positive experience that many years ago. Entering the restaurant, we were served by a very respectful, attentive, and great servicemen (Sorry we didn't catch your name, you had a Man-bun if that helps!) who ensured our dining experience was nothing short of amazing. For our entree, we were served an amalgamation of different foods such as Salt and pepper calamari, grilled chicken, arancini balls, chorizos in salsa sauce and a particular sausage. Truth be told these were all good, just not great. Our favourites had to be the Calamari and grilled chicken. We think that it could have done with more flavour or sauces however it was still satisfying nonetheless.
For mains we both ordered the Dori Fillets with potato puree and other sauces and specialties. The fish itself was quite good, fluffy and flaky, just not the Salmon Fillet we remembered as it must have been out of season or off the menu! Regardless what made the meal had to be the potato underneath which was full of creaminess and flavour- easily the best potato we have had ever!
Desserts were very very good, with the cheesecake being the right about of crispy and creamy, and the panna cotta tasting like a well deserved yoghurt/ice cream concoction. Overall a solid dinner with great value if you pick up the Groupon. We would recommend trying the steaks and burger here as opposed to the fish, if thats not your thing :)
Food: 3.5/5

Came here with a friend and her son, the staff were very attentive and friendly, we wanted to sit outside but in the shade so they were able to organise that for us. The food was very good and very good portions. Definitely worth visiting if in the area.
Stumbled across this restaurant when I was on scoop on and I can’t believe the pot of luck I ran into! The food was ridiculously fresh and unbelievably delicious.
$65 for two people is definitely a price I can’t complain considering how much fresh seafood was in the seafood spaghetti.
My friend and I had demolished the entire main ensuring the plate was squeaky clean. Will definitely be back for more.
Wow the food and service was fantastic.
The steak was as good as Rockpool and the service was awesome. The price was nowhere like Rockpool. Well worth the trip here.
What a gem
Great location
Spent a lazy afternoon sampling the tapas menu and drinking their home brew 100 Taps (a very refreshing beer).
Highly recommend it.
It’s worth the effort.

Seafood is so yummy! And great value. Seafood platter for 2 fills you up and is delicious. I have come back numerous times. It’s tucked away and in port Melbourne but it’s a hidden gem
Good food and reasonably priced. It is hidden in the corner of pier 34 however the view are very nice. Enjoy my visit last week and the staffs are friendly
Come again for Chinese New Year, food still delicious as usual staffs are still attentive as normal. You don’t feel intimidate just embrace with welcoming by everyone as soon you walked in.
We came here for a corprate lunch and it was busy and bustling for a WED lunch time. Their lunch menu is affordable and there is a good range to facilitate for a group of people. Overall the food looked better than they taste. The oysters were a bit of a disappointment though, they weren’t fresh even though we chose the Kilpatrick Oysters, but you can still taste the quality was there. King Prawns were amazing though and the presentation was cool.
The Place itself is quite hidden away, if not for a Scoopon would have never gone there. Upon Arrival were quickly taken to our seats, were advised that we could choose from the available mains but the dessert would be just two items and they will be provided alternatively. Was not impressed by that as on the Scoopon it mentioned there would be a choice available. Anyways we ordered our mains and had to remind the hostess that we would prefer not to have any Beef/Pork in our Entree Platter as i had advised in my booking. This was catered to without a fuss. The Entree platter was quite good with a selection of items such as Calamari, Oysters, Cheese Balls, Jalapeno Poppers and Char grilled Chicken. All of the items were up to standard and delicious. For Mains we had Seafood Spaghetti and Rib Eye steak with Mash. The Spaghetti was pretty spot on, well seasoned, amazing flavor and the seafood was cooked perfectly as well with nice Char on the Prawn. The steak although cooked perfectly lacked overall appeal because of the lack of any salad/chips or sauce with it. There was a red wine glaze available but i was not a big fan and skipped it and the mash provided with it was pretty average. Moving on to the Desserts and all my anger for not being able to chose was blown away with the Amazing desserts ! The mixed Berry Cheesecake was a revelation and one of the best i have had, the Rosewater Panna Cotta was pretty spot on as well. Nice wiggle to it and still pretty light. There were some issues with heating as the AC was turned on although it was quite cold outside but the hostess advised that the Heating Unit was playing up and was causing the issue. All in all pretty good outing.
We came here with a Living Social voucher and we were very impressed. The place is nicely decorated and the staff were friendly. The food was very nice - especially the seafood pasta, Hokkaido scallops and the cheese cake dessert. A minor mistake was made with our order, but once it was brought to the staffs attention they were very quick to rectify it without fuss and were very apologetic. Can't get better staff than that! We never knew about this place before Living Social as it is a bit secluded, but we will definately return. The lunch menu also looked very reasonably priced!
Came here with a Livingsocial voucher for two. Nice and cosy restaurant and i recommend getting the 5.30pm booking so you can watch the sunset too. The waiter gave us a seat by the window as we got there like 10 mins early. Entree was a set Tapas platter but our dietary requirement of no meat was met (this is something you specify when you make the reservation via livingsocial). Tapas platter was huge and had a nice variety of seafood. Calamari with farlic aioli was delicious but didnt really like the pan fried saganaki with fig - way too stiff to eat in my opinion but im not a cheese fan so maybe thats how its meant to be? No limitations on what we could order from the Mains section. I ordered the Big Salad with Calamari and partner ordered the seafood spaghetti. Both meals came out promptly and beautifully presented. Huge quantities as well and they were very generous with the seafood in both meals. Dessert came after that which was mixed berry cheesecake and rosewater Pannacotta. Both scrumptious and delightful presentation on these too! Overall well worth the voucher and a really nice experience. Would be even better if drinks were also included but you can always order and pay extra for what you like off the menu :)
LIT!: incredible view to eat out which can accommodate large groups/parties.
NOT SO LIT: the food was not incredible but still enjoyable! Thanks for having us! X
We got an excellent value for money 3 course meal voucher and enjoyed every bite. Staff were wonderful and we could not be happier choosing to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary at Pier 35. We will be back..Fillet steak was a 12 out of 10. Awesome :)
We had a delicious lunch here over the weekend. We managed to book at table for 10. The place was full with large groups and it was very loud with more people sitting outside enjoying the view of the ship containers passing by. At the moment they have a lunch special where meals start from $14. I had the calamari salad which was delicious, the calamari was cooked well and for me was a good portion. If you were to go, book in advance, the views are amazing and different however, for some reason the restaurant is very loud.
My family have had three function here in the past 12 months and this place never disappoints. The staff are always friendly and the food is absolutely delicious!!! Highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed a generous seafood platter, saganaki with fig, mushroom, pear & walnut salad - extremely fresh produce..quality of food is truly delicious, staff are efficacious yet up for a chat 😀 and the oceanic scenery is calming. Very affordable 😊 & parking is a breeze!
What a brilliant place for a lazy lunch on a weekend arvo! The tapes platter was out of this world. Arincini balls were the best I've had in a long while! Risotto was superb! Great service from Jackie!!
Just had the tapas, "yum" Pussycat is purring so it must be good, waiting on the next course, for me the Black Angus Burger and PC is having the Black Angus eye fillet with wild mushroom sauce, house wine is actually not too bad. Our waiter is Sam and his service thus far is great
Just had the mains and they were sensational, PC is even contemplating tipping the waiter, "sacra blue" we will be coming back
Located right on the pier, this restaurant has a great view and atmosphere. The food is also great quality and would recommend if in the area. Tapas Platter ~ $38 – Natural oysters, Pan Fried Salt & Pepper Calamari with a Citrus Aioli, Sizzling Five Spice Chicken TenderloinTapas Platter ~ $38 – Natural oysters, Pan Fried Salt & Pepper Calamari with a Citrus Aioli, Sizzling Five Spice Chicken TenderloinTapas Platter ~ $38 – Natural oysters, Pan Fried Salt & Pepper Calamari with a Citrus Aioli, Sizzling Five Spice Chicken Tenderloin
A little out of the way, but well worth the effort. Parking (free) available next to the restaurant. Friendly staff, lovely food, reasonably priced, varied menu to suit all tastes. Big windows to view the water craft drifting by, and at Sunday lunchtime, a live guitarist and singer perform. Great ambiance.
Friendly service add to the relaxed atmosphere. Food has never disappointed, and priced exceptionally well. This is also a great function venue which I highly recommend.
Service was absolutely wonderful here. The food was really good. The prawns and calamari were really yummy! Fish and chips and lamb shank were good too. We had the express lunch which seemed to read that everything under that heading was $14 however the heading should probably read 'from' $14 as it turned out only a few things were that price. Anyway we were still happy to pay the extra amount as the service and servings were great.
This place is one of my favourites, Love coming Saturday or Sunday morning for breakfast, The restaurant is fresh and clean and has a beautiful view of the river. A large outdoor area for sitting. It's so lovely to sit outside and have breakfast and watch all the boats go by. I generally have there big breakfast, their poached eggs are cooked to perfection, all the food is fresh and delicious. Awesome service polite and attentive. Pricing is very reasonable breakfast can start from $6 to $15. A variety of coffees and teas. It's a beautiful place to relax and have a lovely morning breakfast absolutely recommend, enjoy👍
Clyde took me to Pier 35 for Valentines Day and I was extremely impressed.
We started off by ordering a fews drinks. Clyde ordered a chinotto and I ordered a CC & dry. For an entree we order the bruschetta which we really enjoyed. It had the right amount of tomato and not too much onion.
For mains I ordered the Salmon with mushroom sauce and it was easily the best piece of salmon i'd ever ordered. Clyde ordered the Char Grilled Black Angus burger which he really enjoyed but found very messy to eat. By the end of the mains we were too full to order dessert.
We sat inside the restaurant which had a great view of the port of Melbourne. The staff were very friendly and the service was great.
I am very keen to come back and have the salmon again in the near future.
A quiet place for brunch.the food was alright but the scenic view around the restaurant is absolutely 8/10 worth the price of travelling to port Melbourne ! Along the seaside we found beautiful starfish as well .there were plenty along the beach
Great for a few cold beverages on a warm day and spectacular view of the water, very attentive and friendly staff. A bit upmarket in price, but would like to go back and sample the oysters on another warm day...a great find!
Great cheap lunch menu $14 and good service. Really nice location next to the water. Beer selection is very limited and not so cheap at $11.50 for pint.
A river view of the docks on a nice summers' day, sensational seafood and an understanding of Coeliac Disease and cross contamination. I'm in! If there is one thing they know how to do and do well it is the seafood on their menu, the risotto was a little bit of a let down but the king prawns definitely made up for it.
Melbourne is always FULL of surprises ....
We often seen this place from the top of West Gate Bridge, never thought of it as a place to eat as it is in the middle of a working port and not as convenient to get there.
I'm just glad we did.
From the big windows we can see in action a Marina full of boats, cargo vessels docking, loading, offloading, etc. you get the drift, but we are here for the food.
Pleasant service, friendly Manager, food is above average and wines are reasonably priced.
Looking forward to go back there.
UPDATE 6/11/2016
We went for breakfast.
Ordinary Menu, nothing exciting, well made, pleasant service and it was just a good Sunday drive there.
Stick with their Dinner menu.
Great place for a special occasion, easy parking, great views and really nice food. The seafood was well presented and tasted delicious will be back soon :)
Got a voucher for this place and loved it! The servings were a perfect size and variety for two people. The atmosphere with a big tanker coming in and the sun setting was lovely and the staff, especially Chi, were extremely friendly! Highly recommend this one!
Cheeseburger Anyone? "Where's The Sauce"?

Cudo voutcher pays off again! Came here with vouchers with some friends and we were definitely not disappointed. Trying a bit of everyone's dinner I must say the following. Seafood spagetti tasty and fresh. Eye fillet steak cooked perfectly but the red wine jus was just a tad sweet. The tapas was great! Calamari was soft and fresh and seasoned perfectly. Arancini balls were also very tasty! My friends enjoyed the salsa with chorizo. Overall was great. Now for my main.
Of course I got the burger , and I'm glad I did! Such good quality angus beef! Egg cooked beautifuly, tasty cheese and a nice soft bun. Only thing I would change is adding more sauce. A nice creamy mayo. Maybe also some tomato sauce. You can never have to much sauce! The fries were also delicious. Main thing Is the overall burger was flavoursum and very filling. My down fall was desert but I'm not a cheesecake or panacota fan in general. The service was great ! Pretty sure we had the owner serving us. What a character! Thanks for a lovely meal.
Went here 2 weeks ago for a meal for which we had purchased a voucher
I was really amazed. The food was fantastic.
I had the Eye Fillet and have to say it was the best I have ever had in my entire life
I am very fussy with foods and consider myself a bit on a connoisseur
This place is a must.
The Service (Chi) was also very good.
5 Stars as far as I am concerned
Will be back for sure
My dad and I had dinner at Pier 35 Bar & Grill tonight, and it was beautiful. We had a Groupon voucher so we had a partially set menu, with the tapas entrées and deserts but we could choose our mains.
The tapas plate was delicious. All of the items complimented each other perfectly, without being to similar.
The mains we chose were the paella and the seafood spaghetti. Dad loves seafood and he was so happy with his choice. The paella, for me was extremely tasty and was a perfect portion size for me. The mix of seafood, chicken and chorizo made it an exciting meal to eat as you would have a different experience with each bite.
Finally the deserts. Berry Cheesecake & rose water panna cotta to share. Both the deserts were 5 star quality. The one thing I would say was, though they were both delicious, I would have preferred to have had another type of desert rather than two very creamy ones just to break up the tastes and textures, such as a sticky date or chocolate pudding.
The service was lovely. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, and were willing to have a laugh.
I will most definitely be back to enjoy the beautiful river side scenery in the summer months.
Thanks for a fab night.
Great service. Warm and inviting atmosphere. Delicious tapas entree. I had the signature seafood spaghetti which was Devine. My husband enjoyed his lamb shank but envied my pasta :) deserts were simple but common Pana Cotta and a cheese cake neith woo'd U.S. But we're pleasant. I will go back for that seafood pasta. I highly recommend it.
Went here for Fathers day lunch for the first time and we were all impressed. The food was delicious. The only down fall was the weather was too windy to enjoy outside! Looks like we will have to go back again in summer :)
Friendly staff, beautiful view by the pier (hence the name). Service was a bit slow, but did give us time to recover in between the 3 course meal. Tapas were a good start, good selection of grilled/fried pieces of seafood and arancini. Absolutely loved the spinach balsamic salad with wild berries. The stuffed chicken breast with broccollini was delicious. Looked very appealing, tasted equally as appetizing. Seafood spaghetti had well cooked king prawns, which was accompanied by a light spaghetti. Eye fillet steak with mushroom sauce was great as well, sizeable enough for a satisfied stomach. Panna cotta and the cheesecake ended our dinner beautifully, creamy and smooth in texture. All in all, enjoyed a great night.
Great place for date night! The service was excellent, the food was served in a timely manner and the rose panna cotta was sublime! Overall a 4/5 experience with a groupon voucher!
ATE HERE WITH MY PARTNER AND WE BOTH LOVED IT, GORGEOUS FOOD, GREAT SERVICE AND A FANTASTIC LOCATION.... RELEAXING! ALL IT NEEDS IS A HOTEL NEARBY TO STAGGER TO AFTERWARDS! WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK!
LOVED THE SEAFOOD SPAGHETTI, CAN'T WAIT TI LCOME BACK ON A SUMMER NIGHT TO SIT OUTSIDE, GORGEOUS VIEWS WITH PLENTY OF EASY PARKING! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
An absolutely amazing experience.
My husband and I attended over a week ago we had purchased a scoopon deal.
First was the tapas plate, followed by seafood spaghetti and my husband had scallopini, then backed cheesecake and rose water panacotta.
Well we could not fault them. The staff, the meals, the ambience of the place was perfect, we personally scored Pier 35 a 10/10 each.
We highly recommend Pier 35 and we will be returning in the very near future to experience this fabulous place all over again we recommend you give it a try to you certainly will not be disappointed.
BEST PLACE IVE EVER EATEN AT!!!!
Starting with the service, they were quick to take us to out table and were smiling and very polite all night. The food was to die for. We had the lamb shanks snd the chicken breast. Never had any food as good as this and to make it even better if we ordered a desert we got out main meals half price and the deserts ecxceeded our expectations (spanish churros and chocolate pudding. Top notch restaurant would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Can't believe how busy this place is! Great food and good view by the water (although you can't really see anything at night - probably a better view during daytime). The tapas platter was an excellent selection of chef's favorites - calamari (this was my fave, it was so soft and chewy and well-seasoned), arancini, chorizo, chicken strips and crab coleslaw. They were all very tasty and made a good start to our meal. For mains we had the 500g lamb shank which was perfectly cooked and the paella which was fresh and full of flavour. We were quite impressed. Dessert came shortly after we finished our mains. Delightful as well. Not overly sweet, the taste was to our liking. Although it was busy our food did get served quite quickly which we were very happy about since we were really hungry when we got there. Would like to return for breakfast or lunch and enjoy the view by the water.
Wedding reception. We had our dinner wedding reception this year. The food was good and service was even better. Sam-the manager was very helpful. Our guests were also impressed with the restaurant. The location is also very nice and for a sunny day, sitting outside would be the best. Overall, an excellent choice for anyone planning a function. We will definitely be back again for their food!
