The food was amazing, seafood very fresh and amazing service.
Will come back for:
+ Sashimi salad
+ Sashimi
Came here off the back of the fork. And was delighted by the super fresh and generous servings of sashimi in their dishes. The sashimi salad had generous bits of sashimi off cuts that was perfect for this dish. And the assorted sashimi was loaded with fresh cuts of tuna, salmon and scallops and was delicious just by themselves. We also shared the pork belly and seafood soup, but these dishes were shaded by the sashimi we started with. I would gladly come back just for those. Prices was reasonable for what you get (even paying full price), and service was friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back!
Found this places randomly from a Facebook add and wanted to give it a go, very happy with the quality of the food, the tuna Tataki, chicken Karaage, pork gyoza, prawn tempura and the freshness of the nigiri was incredible. It’s hard to choose a favorite because they were all amazing.
I was shattered that they had no fresh oysters to try and I wasn’t a huge fan of the Beef Tataki. But the other than that it was really tasty and I will definitely be back because there were a few dishes I didn’t get to try.
We were invited to Moshi Moshi today and what an amazing dinner we had. The freshness of the sashimi was so impressive and I absolutely loved all of the delicious Japanese dishes we tried. And in even better news they do an all you can eat for $38.80 in which majority of the dishes we tried are available (as well as many more) this is pretty outstanding value not to mention the venue is pleasant, location is ideal and the staff are super hospitable- what’s not to like?!
Tonight we tried the tuna tataki, wagyu tataki and seven spice tempura prawns, as well as a stunningly colourful sashimi nigiri platter. The delicate coating on the prawns was perfection and the tataki dishes extremely flavoursome. We also had two sushi items the inside our salmon roll and the teriyaki chicken roll. My fave was the yummy salmon roll, I recommend trying it seared.
We were actually really full but couldn’t resist two main plates the teriyaki salmon and the wagyu. The salmon was coated in that delicious marinade and the beef was super succulent and just delectable. A pineapple Japanese soda to wash it down was the ideal accompaniment and we finished with a traditional dessert in the form of the cutest taiyaki. A really exceptional experience all round
This was the first time I have visited Moshi Moshi but it definitely won’t be the last, the food is absolutely amazing and delicious.
We started with the Seven Spice Tempura Prawn which was so fresh and packed full of spice. This was followed up with the Tempura Tuna roll. This had to be one of the most amazing experiences my tastebuds have ever come across and we ended up ordering a second plate of them.
We also had the combination of the Soft Shell Crab Spider Roll and the Soft Shell Crab Tempura with the Moshi mayonnaise. These were simply oishii oishii oishii, so fresh and tasty.
For dessert we had the Taiyaki and Black Sesame Ice Cream which were the perfect ending to a perfect evening.
I was also amazed by how quickly the food was coming and the staff were so polite and helpful.
I can’t wait to return again and try more of the amazing menu.
Say moshi moshi (hello) to Moshi Moshi! A cosy and charming Japanese restaurant in Port Melbourne serving up delicious and fresh Japanese food, you will find it hard to say goodbye after your meal.
If you did not order a sashimi platter at a Japanese restaurant, did you really eat there? I don't think so. The sashimi platter, to me, is a good way to tell if a Japanese restaurant is up to standard or not. The freshness of the sashimi is extremely important, and so is the skill in slicing the sashimi. Moshi Moshi passed with flying colours on both counts.
The Rainbow Roll was just as fresh, and was presented beautifully. The freshness keeps on coming with the 7-spice tempura prawns. Even though these prawns had been battered and fried, I could taste the juicy and sweet freshness with each bite. The 7-spice powder not only added flavour, but also enhanced the clean and simple flavours of the prawn, making this dish a 10 out of 10.
Also impressive was the wagyu tataki. Thinly sliced, melt in your mouth pieces of wagyu beef, marinaded in a deliciously zingy and piquant sauce. Rich in flavours, but also light on the palate.
The icing on the cake was the red bean taiyaki. The red bean paste filling still had tiny chunks of red bean in it, creating texture in an otherwise smooth paste. Lightly crisped on the edges, and yet soft and fluffy inside, the taiyaki was faultless.
The value for money lunch deal includes bento boxes and rice bowls, and there's a feed me menu available at night. Definitely worth coming back to try these out. Thank you for the meal!
Moshi Moshi is a cute restaurant on the busy Bay Street in Port Melbourne serving fresh seafood and really authentic Japanese service.
I went for lunch and ordered the bento box which also comes with miso soup, it was delicious and so filling. They had these really unique Japanese soft drinks which l had to try! There are a few flavours but l had the strawberry one which wasn’t overly sweet and went well with my lunch.
The scallops were the best I’ve had EVER (I had two of these) So beautifully presented too.
I need to go back for dinner and try their feed me menu- yum. And their sushi donut I’ve seen all over instagram.
Their lunch menu is reasonably priced and perfect for your lunch break if you work in the area.
So excited to visit again later in the year. Thank you so much for an exceptional experience 😊💗x
A great local restaurant for fresh quality Japanese food! We have dinner here at least once a month and always order the feed me menu. The Feed Me Menu has all our favourites, We just loved it. We always order edamame, chicken karrage, chicken Katy’s curry, 7 spice tempera prawns, sesame soba noodles & hosomaki... now that I’ve written it down, it seems like a lot 🙊
Staff were very friendly, great to see the open sushi kitchen.
Awesome food and awesome service and awesome staff. throughly enjoyed the fantastic sushi, and also all the raw fish was absolutely fantasticooo
Amazing food selection! Fresh sashimi, wagyu tataki and dozens of other fresh sushi and prawns. Had an amazing experience with my friends! Highly recommended.
Their “feed me” menu can definitely feed a hungry giant! Food were delicious and service really good! The sashimi was very fresh, goyza was tasty and and the tempura was crispy and well done.
Moshi Moshi is a cute Japanese restaurant on the busy main road of Port Melbourne. It is a small space, but has plenty of warmth and character, and genuinely lovely staff who are so helpful when selecting from the delicious menu. They have a banquet style menu that is extremely good value for money, and is a popular choice; but on this occasion we chose from the regular menu.
We started with pork dumplings and tempura prawns. Seriously good dumplings, packed full of flavour, with a nicely browned pastry... perfectly soft and crunchy at the same time. Just how I like my dumplings!! The prawns were fresh and tender, and the tempura batter was light and delicate. The accompanying sauces were also extremely tasty.
Chicken katsu curry is definitely a favourite, so I couldn't wait to try the Moshi Moshi version. Crispy, crumbed chicken with a pleasantly sweet and spicy curry sauce, this was a delight to eat. We also had the pork belly which again was extremely tender, tasty and served with gorgeous accompaniments.
Although we were quite full, we pushed through and had the chocolate spring roll for dessert. This was a great choice as the delicate pastry shell was full of molten chocolate and just heavenly to eat. We had it with black sesame ice cream which was a perfect contrast to the chocolatey goodness of the spring roll.
The wait staff were so lovely and attentive which really added to the welcoming vibe at this lovely venue. Combine that with the awesome food, Moshi Moshi is a great place for a date night or a family dinner, and everything in between.
We went to Moshi Moshi on a cold Monday night. We ordered a variety of food from the 'Feed Me Menu' and the food was amazing. The staff were very friendly and attentive, a pleasure to be around. I was blown away by the food, the service and the price.
Winter specials on offer included barramundi and Japanese soft drinks.
I highly recommend this restaurant, I will be coming back.

A cute cosy street frontage greeted us when we visited Moshi Moshi on Bay Street in Port Melbourne. The inside was equally as welcoming as were the staff.
To immerse in tonight’s Japanese experience we ordered a couple of Hata Ramunes to start. These popular soft drinks in Japan are unique in shape and design, refreshing and fizzy we opted for a strawberry and the pineapple.
Tonight had a number of dishes from their main menu. We started with the Chicken karaage Gua bao and the pork belly gua bao. These bao buns can only be described as pockets of goodness. I loved the chicken with the cunchy coating, it was melt in the mouth delicious with a divine mayo and succulent chicken. I could have eaten plate after plate of these.
Next we tried the sizable steamed veggie gyozas, these piping hot gyozas had a lovely wrapper and finely chopped filling and was paired perfectly with the vinegar soy dipping sauce.
We ordered the assorted sushi & sashimi platter and let me tell you this platter delivers. From the stunning presentation to the huge range of fresh seafood, I was impressed by the variety of on offer, the tuna and salmon where sublime but the delicate scallop with popping roe was extraordinary. A thoroughly enjoyable range of tastes and textures.
Chicken Katsu curry, was a lovely mild Japanese curry with a super crunch and pickles. This doesn’t come with rice but can easily be added.
We ordered the Teriyaki salmon which was beautifully cooked and served with a wonderful potato and chunky vegetable mash. Described on the menu as potato salad, it was hot and wonderful to soak up the teriyaki sauce, honestly, it can only be described as lick the plate worthy.
For dessert we ordered the Taiyaki, this fish shaped pancake with a sweet red bean filling is one of my favourites.
Despite being full, we also indulged in a chocolate spring roll with green tea ice cream, the deep fried chocolatey roll was delicious but my favourite part was the refreshing green tea ice-cream, it’s my favourite way to have it.
Lots to enjoy on this menu tonight. Thanks so much for having us in.

A great visit to Moshi Moshi!
The interior felt very Japanese inspired, with a lot of decorations and furniture that felt Japanese.
The food was very tasty! My friend and I shared a wide variety of dishes. The stand out for me was the inside out salmon roll, which included fresh salmon on the outside with a creamy sauce, and avocado on the inside.
The edamame was like any other Japanese restaurant. The agedashi tofu was soft with a nice sauce below. The tempura was a bit soft for my liking & not crispy enough. The tataki was a bit chewy but had good flavour. The veggie gyoza was soft & filled with veggies. The takoyaki was also soft, a bit too soft. The toppings on it were classic.
Service was fast, but didn’t know about our booking & it took some time to work out the miscommunication.
Came here on a Monday night for my Mums birthday and were so happy to see that it was open. The staff were very friendly and accommodating right from the moment we walked in. We all ordered the “feed me” menu (all you can eat) and ordered a range of menu items at staggered times. All of the food came out very quick and super fresh and hot! The quality for the price was far exceeding our expectations! 😍 Absolutely will come here again. It was amazing. Thankyou Moshi Moshi ❤️
This is a great restaurant in Bay Street, Port Melbourne. My partner and I visited this restaurant with high expectations and we were not disappointed.
But to my surprise they have an all you can eat "Feed Me Menu" for $38.80 per head!! For Japanese? For anything on the menu, so it's not hard to see why this place has been around for 10 years.
We tried Takoyaki which were delicious and hot! Phew lol
The 7 piece Tempura prawns wee full of meat and they get their seafood daily, Yummo.
The chicken karaage x2 cause it was soo good hahaha
The assorted sashimi had a great selection of fish to choose from. Perfect!
The assorted nigiri sushi was melt in the mouth, sooo good.
For mains, the chicken Katsu curry was really fresh, the chicken was plentiful and well crumbed.
And wait there's more hahaha but you get the drift, this place was amazing!! We are definitely going back. They have a great selection of beers, including rice beer, sakes and wines.
Mmnn note to self, don't drive hahaha. This place is a must visit!
And thanks to the owners for their kind invitation to visit their restaurant.

Moshi Moshi has some super yummy veggie options available!
I would definitely recommend the FEED ME menu! Such great value for all you can eat hehe.
My favourite dish would have to be the veggie tempura!! So delish. I also tried the avocado sushi, Agedashi tofu, salted edamame and veggie dumplings. All authentic Japanese food, I felt satisfied yet light after eating.
This is a great spot to take a date!
Moshi Moshi is located on Bay Street in Port Melbourne. Offering a wide range of Japanese food & a relaxed dining space, we were looking forward to trying the menu.
This restaurant offers some great menu options, Japanese tapas style so we ordered a range of dishes to try. We started with edamame, steamed veggie gyoza & tuna tataki. For drinks we both tried the plum slush, a Japanese cocktail with plum wine & soda. A light & refreshing drink which complimented the food well.
We then moved onto the seared inside out salmon & the mixed sushi & sashimi platter. The presentation of these dishes was impressive & the sashimi was a lovely fresh & clean dish. The stir fried vegetables & tofu was served in a tasty teriyaki sauce & we added rice to mop up all the sauce.
We finished with black sesame ice cream as unfortunately they had run out of the chocolate spring rolls we’d been looking forward to. The service at Moshi Moshi was fast & friendly & we were impressed with the food. Thanks so much for having us.
Came here for their Feed Me Menu (all you can eat) and we can confirm it was great value and quality food!
The sashimi was thick sliced and very fresh. We’re happy to report this is not one of those places that doesn’t bring out sashimi or cut your order. We found them to be generous and honest.
We also recommend the karaage fried chicken which was well seasoned and juicy. The teriyaki chicken was equally a winner and we enjoyed the sauce and mash underneath.
The only let down is the tataki which was dry, despite being labelled “waygu” beef. Perhaps it was cooked for too long? It just wasn’t the standard we were expecting for tataki.
We would have also preferred more hot food options, we thought there was a lot of sashimi and raw options but not many hot main meals. Even a bowl of udon or some stir fried noodles would have helped balance out the meal.
$38.8 for all you can eat *quality* Japanese is unbeatable.
Ate 😋: large sashimi platter, takoyaki and agedashi tofu
Standout 😍: agedashi tofu (the outer shell was nice and crispy whilst the inside was creamy and soft in the inside
Ambience💡: dark cosy feel
Service👨🍳: Good 🙂
Would I come here again? For sure :)
Have eaten here several times but our last visit since the menu upgrade was so good! We had the feed me option which is such great value and so many items to choose from.
Service was friendly and efficient and food came out quickly. Such beautiful fresh seafood we will now eat here more regularly!
Fantastic food and customer service to match! We will definitely be back!
Food is all well priced and prepared. Staff are very attentive making you feel welcome all the way from arrival to departure.
First time been here for a dinner with family. A very nice restaurant with nice food and good service, friendly staffs. Definitely will recommend and come again.
We love the ‘feed me’ menu at Moshi Moshi! Sushi is of a high quality and all made fresh on the spot. Rest of menu is delicious and abundant fresh food. Lovely staff and great beer on tap. Very good value for money and highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back!
Feed Me menu was excellent, portions were very generous. Would definitely recommend. Great for large groups. Very filling. Excellent service too.

Opening on to the prime shopping and dining strip of Bay Street in Port Melbourne you’ll find Moshi Moshi – an unassuming family owned restaurant serving up fresh, fine dining quality Japanese seafood at cafe prices. The dishes are all all made fresh to order, adapted from traditional methods to satisfy the palate of the local diners.
Last year they brought in a new Japanese chef and overhauled the menu – creating some new dishes and updating the a la carte menu, plus designing an exciting new ‘Feed me’ menu. This menu gives diners the chance to enjoy an all you can eat feast for only $38 per person!
We started off with a sushi donut (which I think was a special) and then asked them to surprise us with their pick of the dishes from the Feed Me Menu. Everything was really fresh and super tasty, made from high quality ingredients that they source through a local Japanese supplier.
Moshi Moshi is hugely popular with the locals - open for dinner every night of the week, and lunch Tuesday through Friday. I’ve heard fabulous things about their Bento boxes!
On Friday and Saturday nights the Feed Me menu us available thought bookings only. Walk-ins can still enjoy the Seasonal Specials and the full a la carte menu.
Moshi Moshi often cater for functions or groups and they are happy to cater for special menu requests with enough notice. Kids are also welcomed with open arms. The lovely staff can set them up with coloured chalk and encourages them to decorate the pavement with their artwork. How fun is that! Can’t wait to go back
Simply Fantastic!!
From the moment we arrived for Christmas Lunch we were greeted with a warm smile which continued for the entire time we were there. It set the tone for what was to come.
6 of us had a 10 course Omakase menu. The food was the STAR! Every course was outstanding. Delicately made by someone with obvious skill and care; Beautifully plated; Supported by excellent service. A true delight to look at and eat.
Every course was someone's favourite but all agreed it was great all-round food.
Moshi Moshi is a winner on any level. Very professional Front and Kitchen Staff made our time there a very memorable experience. Well done to all.
You'll leave with a smile knowing that you'll be back.
Highly recommend Moshi Moshi.
The best Japanese restaurant in Port Melbourne. We cake here to try the feed me menu, we saw it advertised on their instagram. The quality of the food was great, portion size was good and it’s good value for money. Will definitely visit again soon
A great restaurant for fresh quality Japanese food! We loved everything we ate especially the sushi donut and the gyoza. Staff were very friendly, great to see the open sushi kitchen and love the Feed Me Menu, it’s great price.
Love the service at this place as it’s so quick. The traditional Japanese food with a modern twist is just beautiful and so delicious. If you are lookin to try something different, give this place a go
Moshi Moshi boasts a beautiful seaside location in the lovely, coastal suburb of Port Melbourne. Known for its affordable and fresh buffet menu, which even features sashimi, Moshi Moshi is complete with its latest, unique innovation that is SURE to be a Instagram trend – the sushi donut. So what are you waiting for?
I've eaten here about 3 times in the last few months as I love their all you can eat buffet. Its such good value. We loved the edamame beans, the 7 spice tempura prawns, the katsu curry, the tuna sushi and the gyoza. We tend to order the same things and sometimes add the sushi donut to the list as it looks amazing! Service is great, the sushi chef presents all food so beautifully, I definitely recommend this restaurant.

This lovely Japanese restaurant located in Port Melbourne serves both modern and traditional dishes. The staff was really friendly and energetic, we felt welcomed once we entered the restaurant.
We went for the all-you-can-eat option, which is only $36.80. Factoring in the variety of dishes and the quality, we reckon it's definitely a good deal. For starters, we had the seven spice tempura prawns and pork gyoza. The prawns were crispy and we really like the seasoning on them. Then we had their assorted sashimi. The quality of the fish was top-notch, fresh and yummy. For main, we had the teriyaki salmon and pork katsu curry. The teriyaki sauce that came with the salmon was really tasty.
Overall, we enjoyed dining at Moshi Moshi and definitely would love to go back!
Did someone say buffet! We loved our dinning experience here at Moshi Moshi. We were greeted by the lovely Carina who made us feel like home. She read us through the menus and we couldn't resist the buffet. We loved the edamame beans, 7 spiced tempura prawns, moshi popcorn chicken, the chicken katsu curry and the assorted sashimi. All seafood tasted so fresh and the portion sizes were large.
While offering a modern take on Japanese cuisine, Moshi Moshi hasn’t forgotten the traditional foundations that makes Japanese food so great.
The fresh ingredients, simple seasoning and flawless, precise preparation are evident in each dish here, and it’s no doubt we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this cosy bayside Japanese eatery.
Such good food and service. There was a little wait on the dishes but once you tasted them you understood why. Great ambience also, nothing to fault! Will be back again and again!
Located on Port Melbourne’s busy Bay Street, Moshi Moshi is an ideal casual dining spot where cheerful staff will help you to choose your feast of sushi rolls, sashimi or...
I came here with a group of foodies to try their menu.
We sampled an array of dishes. A japanese place lives and dies on their sashimi, and their sashimi is pretty good. Fresh and tasty, well cut. The dishes that stood out to me where the hawaiian sushi rolls, tempura prawns, the sashimi (obviously) The sushi donut is for instagrammers.
My friends enjoyed the Japanese curry with salmon katsu.
The restaurant is nice, as most Japanese restaurants are. Lots of wood, and comfy chairs. They make sure there are enough places for people to sit. Service was outstanding.
All in all, Moshi Moshi is a good Japanese restaurant in Port Melbourne which seems to be very popular with the locals on a Sunday night.
One of my favourite authentic Japanese dining place in Melbourne. They serve a wide variety of dishes from well-presented sushi to Japanese Curry Katsu Don and even the unique Sushi Donut! The beef slices and salmon served here are so fresh that they melt in my mouth. The waitress that attended us on that day was really friendly too. Definitely worth the visit to Port Melbourne.
Located on the busy Bay Street in Port Melbourne, Moshi Moshi is a great Japanese restaurant serving up fresh and delicious dishes ranging from beautiful sashimi platters to katsu curry. Teamed with friendly service, this is a must-visit in the area!
So delicious! So friendly🤗 My friends and I really enjoyed food in Moshimoshi. My favorite dishes are Salmons and wagyu. All the best for moshimoshi.
Fantastic experience! Big love to Moshi Moshi! Super cozy place for a sister date!
I recommend to start with a bottle of plum wine and the impressive Tuna tartare. Fresh sushi-grade tuna meaty as a steak! Lightly seared the side made that a perfect entrée!
You definitely need to try their Signature Homemade Salmon Katsu Curry. The sauce is thicker and the spice level is pretty mild. It would be the ultimate comfort dish in winter Melbourne if you are craving for a big meal.
And of course, after the meal you can hangout by the sea (really great location! Isn’t it?).
It is one of my favourite places which can serve he best Japanese cuisine! It would be a shame if you missed it. Recommend soft shells tempera and the fresh sashimi! ありがとう^_^
The staff were helpful and fast, it was a bit hit and miss with the dishes, some were great some were okay and some were not to my taste at all. Tempera was great and so was the miso, the goyza were a no go at all. We would go back though and just be a little more choosy.
Last minute booking and they were able to accommodate our party of 4, great service. Sashimi was really fresh. The Chef's special of King Tiger Prawns with 7 spice sauce was delicious. The Pork Kakuni was tender and full of flavour. Highly recommended.
Japanese Western fusion best describes the food here. Our party of 8 thoroughly enjoyed having dinner here. Japanese styled art pieces adorn the western themed walls. Our dishes were served well above our expectations. Tried the tempura spiced prawns, gyoza, salmon california rolls, takoyaki balls and chicken teriyaki. Every time a dish was served, the visual feast was greeted with oohs and aahhs followed by mmmmm and yummmm once they were tasted. Was it the ambience, the cleanliness, the japanese themed cutlery or all of them combined? Our group left satisfied and will want to return again.
it was cold night we walked in this small nice cosy restaurant, the food is delicious ,friendly service and attentive, highly recommended,we will come back and try other menu
Enjoyed every bite of the meal. Standouts were the California roll and the spiced tempura prawns. All the dishes came well spaced out and super fresh. We will be back!
Went there with some Japanese friends ...They were most impressed...food was great across the board. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good quality Japanese
Always put off by the cost of this little place.
However. Invested in a scoopon and it was delicious.
Port Melbourne has a lot of great places to eat. But not many sit down sushi joints.
Really enjoyed every part of my meal here.
I look forward to returning.
Dumplings are a must.
Sushi was fresh and good quality.
I ordered the sushi and sashimi platter and it was fantastic. Best sushi in Melbourne, authentic place and all Japanese staff. Liked the golden leaves sake it was very interesting too.
I really enjoyed dining at Moshi Moshi in Port Melbourne tonight! We stated with the salted edamame and pork gyoza, they were really crispy and delicious! We then had the eggplant and zucchini skewers and mixed sushi and sashimi platter, not only was it pretty to look at but it was great to eat and a nice variety too. We also had the crispy calamari, equally delish, really awesome sweet and sour sauce too.
This is one of our favourite local restaurants. We have been coming for years for the amazing gyozas, fresh sashimi, and divine sushi rolls. The service is always friendly and efficient. Absolutely love it!
If you need a Japanese fix in Port Melbourne, then this is the place to go. The Sashimi is top quality and hard to go past. I recommend trying a few entrees to share and then finish up on the sashimi platter.
Definitely going back in the near future.
This is great middle of the road Japanese. I have mostly had good experiences with the customer service, food has been consistent (although not as authentic as some other of my favourite Japanese restaurants) and I don't mind the ambience.
I go here occasionally and will go back but I think the menu needs a makeover as its getting a bit old.
Went here for lunch during the week and tried the bento box. Very good value for money, sashimi was spot on, tempura crunchy and tasty, and we also ordered gyozas which were one of the best in Melbourne. Staff is friendly although they mixed our order with a nearby table.
Nice and cosy restaurant with a homely feel. The food here is pretty good, but not to the extent that I'd call it amazing. Here's my opinion on each of the dishes we had:
1) Boiled edamame: Glad to have warm edamame for once. Most restaurants serve it cold.
2) Wagyu tataki: One of the standouts. The beef was very tender and the amount of ponzu dressing was just right. Also liked how there was a bit of seaweed salad and pickled radish on the side.
3) Sushi & tuna sashimi: The tuna sashimi was quite fresh and so was the salmon nigiri. The maki sushi did not taste as good...
4) Tempura prawns: Not the normal long prawns, more like the type you get from a pre-purchased pack. However it was perfectly battered and tasted great. Wish there were more of it in one dish.
5) Gyoza: Delicious and also juicy inside. Another one of my favourites out of all the dishes.
6) Miso soup: Just the normal miso soup you get from pre-purchased sachets. They charge $4.80 per bowl because apparently they use "organic" tofu in it...
7) Teriyaki salmon: The main course was a bit disappointing. It didn't taste Japanese at all and I don't understand why they'd just chuck random veggies in it like bok choy, carrots and potato slices. They probably chuck those in every main dish or something... And the serving size was just way too small to share as a main between two. There were two thin slices of salmon which added up to less than 100g... The rest were just random veggies and a whole bed of teriyaki sauce (which was a bit too much, I think the chef also threw in some more soy sauce/oyster sauce which made it very salty). Not good value.
8) Chocolate spring roll and green tea ice-cream: Nothing can usually go wrong with dessert...
Overall it was quite a nice meal and most of the dishes were more than satisfactory. However this place isn't that authentic and the prices are on the higher end. For a more authentic experience and paying a little bit more I'd recommend Komeyui down the street, but otherwise this is not a bad choice. It looks like their lunch menu offers more value for money so we'd probably come back for that sometime.
Bought voucher on groupon and had it twice here. Everything in the deal is so delicious! From beef tataki to chicken and salmon teriyaki! The dessert is also well beyond my expectation! Also the sushi and sashimi are always what I fancy!
Staffs are really nice and you feel welcomed and attended all the time!
Updated on Oct2017, the new menu is well executed.
Octopus ball is my new favorite.
It gets really busy in Saturday night so better to come earlier
My partner and I visited Moshi Moshi on Friday night after work, it was a last minute decision so we did not have a booking. The young male staff member was wonderful and managed to find us a table as long as we were finished our dinner service by 7:30pm. The service was speedy and the food fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend trying the wagyu tataki!
Impeccable service and delicious Japanese cuisine - we will definitely be back!
Local favourite. Visited this time with a voucher of 8 courses plus wine. Food, while not plentiful, was varied, tasty and well presented. The house Pinot from New Zealand was excellent. Service was good although the food came out a little fast
Very nice restaurant, love the fitout and the decor. Ordered most of the vegetarian dishes available (there aren't that many), and they were all delicious, got some amazing warm sake and friendly service. Will definitely be back.
My partner & I love this place. Efficient service & good food at a good price. I love the soft shell crab sushi roll & Katsu don curry :P
Moshi Moshi is a small Japanese eatery in Port Melbourne that my family regularly eats at. The food is fantastic, so fresh, the flavors are amazing and the service is great too. It's not that cheap but it's well worth it and we keep going back for more!
Wasn't too bad especially when we walked in on nye unplanned and was greeted kindly by the waiters.
Impressed by the taste of the food, promptness and affordability 👌🏼
Alway great food. Thanks. It's my special treat lunch on salmon teriyaki bento that keeps me coming back. Perfect service and has been for years.
Not bad, pretty good lunch bento box deal and the soup is very nice and slightly milky. Had the Panko fried tuna and was good value. Nice and friendly service and quality. Worth another visit. The beans looked a bit tired though.
Food was really fresh but really really expensive! Came out hungry after paying $60 for 2.
4.50 for 1 scallop is a little bit overpriced to my liking.
However, the ouster and the waygu beef were really tasty and theservice was really good.
Who wants a double round of sushi?! The sushi roll was that good we had to order another serve! I've dined here twice now and both times have been quite good. Super fresh ingredients and very friendly and accommodating staff. It's a great place to go if you feel like Japanese in Port Melbourne :)
There gyoza is amazing said by my daughter. The place is a relaxing place but only BYO on Monday and Sunday which is unfortunate for choosing Tuesday.
Fantastic concept but generally quite average. Portion sizes are quite small and although the food tastes ok they could do a much better job. Take away food tends to taste much worse then when dining in. Overall a solid hip Japanese restaurant in Port Melbourne which we unfortunately do not have enough of here. Worth trying.
We have been here a bunch of times and this place just gets better and better. We had crispy calamari, tempura prawn, edamame, wagu takataki, rainbow rolls and fried chicken. I can not start to describe. This place is fab!
Magnificent, consistent Japanese food. A "must visit".
Had the sushi/sashimi bento which was fresh & delicious. It melted in my mouth. Only my second visit but will be a regular/weekly visitor.
After seeing Grossi Florentino eating at Moshi Moshi I really wanted to try the food at this restaurant. The interior is cosy and the service was timely. The sashimi was fresh and the star of the night, followed by the pork belly and vegetables dish which was very flavorsome. The rainbow roll sushi was delicious also.
great selection of sushi, partner and I spent 150 which i think is standard for a quality japanese night.
however saying that, for a bit more i would suggest kenzan.
Good food , lovely staff good layout had to be here as it was recommended by a friend didn't go wrong at all the best a Japanese cuisine can get in Melbourne
Dad's favourite. Brought Dad here for his birthday as it's his favourite and we loved it too. We just shared a variety of entrees which was plenty. The soft shell crab sushi was amazing. A little on the pricey side but would definitely return.
