One thing annoyed me is the flys 🤣 but anything else was great. Nutritious food very colourful and well presented. The price is alright. (Kinda expensive)

I’ve always wanted to visit Matcha Mylkbar and I was not disappointed. Lovely vegan cafe with so many different options to choose from. Loved the Mac n Cheese Waffles with the extra maple syrup. Smoothie was refreshing and presented in an oddly cute fashion. Service was excellent. Highly recommended.
Great cafe in St Kilda! Always looking forward to their unique lattes when I go! I tried the carrot cake latte and it tasted like carrot cake indeed! Was so nice.
"Smurf Latte" a warm concoction of lemon, ginger, coconut, agave and the fabled E3 Live Blue Majik (powdered blue algae). Can only taste the coconut in this, not a lot of latte flavour but it tastes nice..not too sweet :)
Their matcha drinks are like bowls of soup! They are huge!! couldn't finish and taste is so so.
Their smoothies are huge as well in a skull cup. Lots of toppings.

Really not sure how I didn't know this place existed earlier! Matcha Mylkbar is potentially the best brunch spot in St Kilda. I love that it's fully plant based yet doesn't compromise on flavour.
I ordered the Mac n Cheese Waffles which was incredible. It was just the right amount of waffles and some of them had bits of macaroni inside which provided an interesting texture. I thought the macaroni might be too cheesy but it was perfect. With the syrup, macaroni and waffles is such a tasty combo!
I also really enjoyed my Beetroot Latte. It was full of flavour and the coconut milk used wasn't too creamy.
They have some really interesting drinks, I'd be curious to try the Apple Pie Latte. However, the drinks are very expensive and then if you want to add espresso, it's an extra $2.
Would have given 5 stars however the service wasn't amazing. The waitress brought us glases but forgot the water. Then they brought my drink but completely forgot my friends' smoothie.
Will be back for sure to check out what else Matcha Mylkbar has to offer!

I'm really confused about this place. First, on the website, it says "**NOTE: Currently we do not take bookings for Saturday/Sunday**" but it allow you to make a booking online anyway. When we arrived, we told them about our reservation, and they said they didn't have our booking, even though we've received confirmation email about the booking. They said the only reservation they have is for another party at a later time. So they do take bookings on the weekends then?
Luckily, they let us have the table first and said they'll deal with the other party when they arrive later. The menu we receive is different from the one on the website.
More confusion:
2. The Acai bowl section looks like there are many different options available. I thought I ordered one with almond butter, but the one that came out seemed the standard one.
3. We ordered an Apple Pie Latte thinking it would be like a milky drink but it's not at all. Maybe it shouldn't be called "latte".
4. The Mac N Cheese Waffles didn't mention fried chicken on the menu but it came with it.
Anyway, it's fun to try some vegan food. Tasty, but confusing.
Love this place! Delicious vegan food with great gluten-free options. I had the jackfruit wrap which I devoured and my friend had the popcorn “chicken”. Couldn’t leave without having the matcha pancakes with chocolate sauce and salted caramel ice cream 🤤 The neon rainbow angel wings are a perfect photo op 😉

I don't usually order pancakes for brekky but I just couldn't pass up on the chance on trying their famous matcha pancakes, so I thought I would balance it out with a healthier Acai bowl. I also wanted to order their plant based fried chicken burger and others, but I thought maybe having two brekky bowls is enough for the morning. I guess I will have to come back and try the others.

We took so long to choose from an array of creative vegan brunch dishes. Everything was just striking out to us! Calling for us to order! Well, luckily, we managed to choose what we wanted.

❤️: Loved the Mac N’ Cheese Waffles 🧀. Vegan mozzarella and macaroni waffles, cheese sauce, grilled halloumi, smokey maple mushroom pancetta 🍁. Seriously, it was SO GOOD, I would turn vegan if I could have this everyday 🥰.

And as a smoothie lover, I wouldn’t miss ordering the Superfood Granola Acai Bowl topped with 🍇 blueberries, 🍓 strawberries, raspberries, 🍌 banana, passionfruit, 🥥 coconut mylk, plant based protein powder, superfood and hempseed granola, coconut yoghurt, and other 🍊 fresh seasonal fruits.
The highlight was probably the lattes 🌈. Seriously, we struggled choosing which one to get since we wanted everything! Ended up ordering The Flight, with four to sample.
I would recommend having the 🌊💙 Blue Algae or 🥜💜 Purple Peanut Butter Latte. Trust me, they’re damn good 🤤.

Such a treat to be able to order anything of the menu, and even better when most of those things contain fried "chicken". The jackfruit-based recipe is delicious with the ideal amount of crispiness. I tried it in a haloumi slider, on a platter with mashed potatoes and gravy and chips and slaw, and on top of blue waffles with mac and cheese.
The sliders were small but good and the haloumi was an interesting addition that's hard to come by vegan. The platter was my favourite - the flavours were spot on to what you would expect from a "real" chicken combo from KFC, especially given the floury mash and rich gravy. The waffles were also really interesting in presentation and flavour combination. Alone, I might not have loved the dish but the mac and cheese really makes it.
I also tried a few drinks - the espresso martini (sweet and slightly fruity), the white chocolate matcha and passionfruit martini (absolutely delicious combination of sweet and tart and creamy and bitter) and the alcohol-free mushroom latte, which is very sweet and chocolatey and easier to drink than other mushroom lattes I've tried.
While Matcha is primarily a brunch spot, it's well worth a visit to try the new chicken dishes.
Low Fodmap bowl is nutritious, has many different textures and flavours to it but still has matcha hints - staying true to the idea of the cafe. The matcha latte concept is awesome! Not needing to pay extra for coconut, soy or almond milk - ummm vegans where are you at?! And the vegan eggs, crazy delicious 🤤
Excellent vegan food. It was my first time trying a full vegan restaurant in Melbourne and I enjoyed it very much. Love the latte and the burgers, especially the sweet potato fries!

Attended a lovely event at Matcha Mylkbar, full of tapas and matcha lattes.
Such a beautiful space in an amazing location. Beautiful natural interior, filled with plants & modern finishes.
The KFC chicken equivalent dish was my favourite. The crust on the outside was crispy and the inside filling felt so much like real chicken.
Mini burgers were served. I loved the vibrant green buns, the yummy slaw & avocado inside. However, I’m not the biggest fan of tempeh, which was the main filling.
The waffles with Mac & cheese had two nice components separately. The waffle was soft and fluffy while the Mac and cheese was creamy with a bit of sweetness. I liked the two separate components but not sure if it favourite combination together.
The service at the event was great, with food flowing through the crowd quite nicely.

Walk inside and you'll find yourself in just a lovely place. I had pancakes that appeased my sweet tooth and along with the ice cream and berry sauce - delicious!. Smoothie was pretty good. Menu is pretty good whether you've got dietary issues or a vegetarian or vegan. Only downside was one of the staff I dealt with was somewhat ambivalent. Otherwise everything else was good. Takeaway available.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Pram/stroller accessible. Parking is okay.
Love, love, love it here! Not only is it in a super central spot, the whole menu is written in puns and all the food looks too pretty to eat... but everything is also incredibly delicious!
Definitely can vouch for most things on their menu - definitely pop in next time you’re in the area.
If you walk from Luna Park to here, it’s only less than 5 minutes walk. We were actually thinking about is it gonna be worth trying but right after we took the first bite, we were glad that we actually came in here! Love the pleasing environment!! As a matcha lover, I would say it’s really worth trying out haha.
Matcha milkbar defs knows how to impress. Located right next to the beach it makes for the perfect location to grab something to eat. As the theme most items involve matcha which I love. I always enjoy their hotcakes and fun lattes

I absolutely LOVE Matcha Mylkbar and the philosophy behind their menu!
As a vegan of course I love all the options here, however I think non-vegans can really appreciate their dishes too.
I have tried a few things here, including their vegan egg, bacon and cheese. I love that they have so many comfort-vegan foods, as well as healthy bowls inspired by the blue zones of the world.
I will definitely be back to try more foods and take some more photos to add to my review!!
Amazing vegan experience for any foodie. So good you don’t even care to realise everything is plant based. The energy and vibe of the venue is always on point and the staff are always happy to explain how something is made like their “eggs”.

Vegan lyfe matter! Matcha mylkbar creates an awareness on less meat-heavy diet and serve vegan friendly meals. The catchy menu caught my attention and had my first lettuce wrapped burger in life. The medium rare burger was packed with flavor and very close to the taste of meat. It was tasty. The sweet potato fries too were perfect with the tomato relish to the side. You’re so ramen-tic with zucchini noodle was cold because the zucchini was served cold to the side. The miso broth was okay, certainly would be more flavorful if we opt for normal noodle. We enjoy the dishes but if the price is lower, more people would lean toward giving vegetarian diet a try.
Wow they really have astonishing food and can't get everything right I'm pretty impressed I really love their concept and vibe that's going on here, not to mention their amazing modern venue that makes you very relaxed I wish I tried their interesting lattes so many different flavours that you can't really get anywhere else, so I had the Soba noodles instead it went down a treat, all the colours popped and simply came together quite well.
Very interesting place, I love the concept. Particularly like the unique lattes, the spiced beetroot one is my favourite (so far). Will be back for more!

Vegan or not I would still recommend chucking this trendy plant based cafe on your list. The flight drink sampler board was something fun and all had a unique taste. The matcha burger was AMAZING the protein patty made entirely from plant based sources was delicious and kind of reminded me of chicken. The pancakes were another hit! My only criticism would be the high prices and a 25% ser charge on public holidays is a bit much. Just be prepared for a wait to be seated during busy periods, this place is a hit.

For someone that doesn’t normally eat kale, this place made me fall in love with the stuff. Really cool place, everything had heaps of flavour. Only downside is it smelt like burnt toast and was a bit Smokey from something burning in the kitchen. Otherwise an epic feed

OMG what can i say... absolutely LOVED Matcha Mylkbar!
we walked in and being sunday was really busy but staff were extremely friendly and put us on the waiting list and after 45 mins we got a table!
there were 5 of us, celebrating my mums bday and SO much to choose from the menu.. we literally wanted EVERYTHING!
staff approached us in a friendly manner asking what we wanted and we decided on a few things. Being a coeliac i could not have the matcha burger which looked INSANE, my cousin really enjoyed that! my aunty had the big breakfast with vegan egg, my mum got the vegan ceaser salad, my brother had the gnocchi balboa and i had the puff the magic dragon acai bowl and deluxe black tie avocado! We also tried some smoothies!
we absolutely LOVED everything! very interesting flavours throughout the food but i loved coming out of my comfort zone to try some new interesting flavours today!
for dessert we decided to try the matcha made in heaven pancakes which was superb, flavours i have never tried and they were gluten free 😍 and for coffee we had the flight which is an assortment of different lattes and the blue smurf & purple peanut butter latte! SO INTERESTING

We went to One Night in Tulum for my partner’s birthday and it was definitely one of the best banquet style dinners I’ve ever had. Plant based creativity at its absolute best. It was one Mexican flavour bomb after another. Our favourites were the fish taco, the winter vegetables and the churro dessert. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again. The service was also impeccable!! Couldn’t fault a thing. Even getting locked out of our apartment on the same night couldn’t ruin this epic flavoursome foodie experience.
The perfect spot for any plant based eating folk or anyone wanting to try meat free. Just make sure you try a dish with one of their vegan eggs 😳 yes, I said vegan. They have a slightly sweet taste but look and have similar consistency.
With an abundance of options on the menu you may have a hard time choosing, so you’ve been warned. My Mini and I loved our meals and drink choices, all were flavourful and filling I might add.
With an Instagram/ selfie prop corner they’ve built it with millennials in mind. The bad write ups for Matcha are questionable or maybe I just got lucky? Either way, I definitely rate this spot and will be back soon!
this was such a wonderful brunch experience with even the two "meat loving" men loving the vegan eggs and bacon that came with their meals. the only slight disappointment was the potato rosti as it was a little too thick, thus somewhat dry but still enjoyable when eaten with everything else.
the creativity of the latte varieties was super cute and delicious, with the simple coffees being made perfectly too.
I cannot wait to come back to explore more of the menu and soak up the atmosphere of warmth when escaping the cold Melbourne weekends.

Takes a while to be seated here but the presentation of their meals is just 10/10! For a vegan place they have really nailed the flavours and textures of real meat and makes us feel so healthy and cleansed within! Would like to come here often but the prices are pretty high.. but I guess that’s what’s expected being located right near St Kilda beach

Incredible atmosphere, service and food! We went on a Monday at around 10:30am so it was rather quiet, but I can imagine that it would be quite busy on weekends!
Firstly, I ordered the Purple Peanut Butter Latte. I wouldn't say it was overwhelmingly peanut buttery, apart of the chunky peanut butter that was generously layering the glass but it was still delicious. I can't really put my finger on what it tasted like.. It kind of tasted just like sweet soy milk to be honest, but I'm not complaining because I love soy milk.
For breakfast I ordered the 'We Waffle You a Lot' which was Charcoal waffles topped with bacon, eggs and halloumi, served with a bottle of maple syrup to pour of for yourself, which I really appreciated because I hate when my food is drenched in syrup and I can't taste anything but the syrup! This was the best breakfast I think I've ever eaten. It was certainly something I've never had before! The waffles were perfectly soft and you didn't think you were eating sweet waffles with savoury toppings, they weren't really sweet at all! The bacon, eggs and halloumi were insane, in the best way possible. It was the best vegan bacon I've ever tried and everything worked together so well, especially with a little drizzle of maple syrup. The eggs and halloumi were delicious and they both were so texturally perfect and super tasty. My boyfriend was very envious! Matt had the 'Matcha Made in Heaven Pancakes', which he enjoyed. He liked that they weren't too sweet because he doesn't have the biggest sweet tooth. He more so prefers rich and chocolatey desserts, so this was a great choice for him. Only issue was that he isn't really into all of the "healthy" treats that I'm used to so the cacao nibs were a bit odd to him and he probably could of had some syrup on there alongside the chocolate sauce because I think it was a little too on the bitter side. Mabe some fresh fruit would have helped to cut through the chocolate. Overall, the food was incredible and I certainly loved everything!

Once you get in you are sat down either inside the light, clean, and cosy dining area, or outside where you can watch the lively neighbourhood go about the day. The mock meats and eggs (you seriously have to try these eggs) are amongst the most convincing that I've come across, and are served beautifully presented as seen in the photo below. Waited for almost half an hour to be seated, the girl at the door was not the most organised door person I have seen. Very happy got a table outside and order this matcha chicken burger. You can see from the photo it looks really good. The taste is just an average burger taste nothing too exciting. The sweet potato chips were really good tho! My friend's green smoothie looks really yum tho!!
To find a plant based cafe for my partner is a miracle. We came here especially to try out the food as it was also out cousins destination when he came to Melbourne for a visit. I was drawn to the tiny plant balls on the tables which went with the plant displays around the ceiling. I also took note of the 2 parrots which does not seem out of place.
It was full of promise and delivered they did. We managed to eat here before our lunch! We had the chef choice of 4 lattes. There were flavours like purple peanut butter, apple pie, mushroom, beetroot and tumeric. Very adventurous. They have packed in sooo much in a glass. The vegetable Egg on toast was delightful and the texture and taste is just like an egg!! How did they do it? I had the grilled aubergine tofu bak choy red cabbage bowl. Very nice energy dish without doing too much to the tofu.
A plant based cafe is hard to maintain so hat off to the creative team. There are lots on the menu that I would like to try on a return visit.
Despite all the negative reviews we came here on a Sunday morning 8am to skip the queue. Matcha latte was surprisingly quite pleasant, had their green vegie burger, matcha pancakes, big breakfast with saffron tofu scramble. They taste pretty good and service was great- sad for their low score in zomato
Recently went here with a friend and wasn't sure I'd enjoy the food TBH as I'm not vegan myself. I tried the Made in Heaven pancakes and these were better than any pancakes I've had before. totally tasty and super indulgent. My friend had their vegan eggs which I thought were a very interesting concept to replace normal eggs with. Trendy little cafe but the one criticism I had was the service, unfortunately the staff tended to be talking to each other alot more than the customers which clearly made all of the items being ordered arrived slower and just felt they should be more engaging with the customers there rather than each other.

Came by twice and tried their jackfruit burger and poached eggs fritters, and both were pretty good, coffee as well. But the barista who was working at the time was very nice and my friend and I had a great conversation with him. 4/5 for experience.
Amazing açai bowl for breakfast at Matcha Mylkbar. So refreshing and filling! If in the area again I would gladly come back for more. The has brown was delicious and crunchy. Fruits were so fresh. Staff were friendly.

The food here is really gorgeous. Both times I've eaten here it has been beautifully presented and was soooo tasty! The menu has good variety and really sticks true to their vision.

It's a shame the service here is below par, especially in such a hot-spot location like St kilda.
The staff were all friendly (never rude) just not attentive.
I was sitting there for a while before even being asked if I'd like a coffee (I was starting to wonder if I had to order at the counter as did someone else waiting) so I decided to order my meal at the same time in case it was another long wait.
Once ordered food and drink came out promptly.
This cafe would be an absolute knock out if the service improved (take a note out of 'serotonin' in Burnleys book)

The meal was delicious, I was very excited to try their vegan eggs. Which tasted like coconut mostly, but still good! They have all types of delicious sounding meals on their menu. Would love to come here again and try something else.
Would love to see a cover on the desserts near the cash register! I would've loved one, but being about the height of someones head near a busy area for 6+hours put me off a bit.

Wonderful place. I ordered the rainbow equalatte which was divine. Such rich flavours and really tasty. The unicorn superfood chia pudding was incredible. It has the layered blue algae with coconut milk and fairy floss on top in a glass skull mug. So funky. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place for a fresh, healthy meal. Love the philosophy too - a more balanced diet. I will be back.
Like so many other foodie hot spots, this one has been on my lost for quite some time! After a great gym sesh, I was ready for something to satisfy my hunger and it was about time we got to Matcha Mylkbar. This spot satisfies the healthy and non healthy vegans and people like myself who like to have a vegan meal that is little different to an acaci bowl or tofu. The thing that drew my interest the most is the ‘fake eggs’ reputation.
I now see what all the hype is about with this place. The food is Amazing with service to match. Great value as the prices are very reasonable for their work of art meals! New favourite!
All the dishes tasted very good! It was a lovely location although very busy. The service was good. Be prepared to spend at least $60 for two people. It is quite pricey. The flavours were really nice in the meals. The drinks were not amazing for $12 minimum. Overall would recommend if you aren't in a rush and don't mind paying.

Clockwise:Matcha Latte - $6A more mild matcha than I like but still nice and good for those who haven'ttried matcha before.Cacao Latte - $6 Like a dark hot chocolate but lighter in consistency, made with MorkMushroom Latte - $6The worst of the lot, super bitter, actually did remind me of Chinese medicinealthough I've never heard of Chaga mushroom before. No amount of sugar helped.
So I was on a holiday to Melbourne and on my brother's recommendation, we decided to visit the matcha café. My expectations from this place were very high because of the amazing reviews I had heard about it and to my delight, my expectations were met. The staff was very friendly. I loved the food. It was an absolute delight to my taste buds. It was my first time trying vegan and I must say I was very impressed. The location is amazing. It's posh and sophisticated. Everything about this place is just lovely. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. A must visit. Cheers!🤘
Went there 3 times in 1 week while staying in Melbourne and there wasn't a single dish I wasn't amazed by. AMAZING food with insanely awesome presentation, friendly staff, good location. I am having cravings just writing this review.
I've been a few times now as my sons girlfriend is vegan. I've taken my father who loves his meat as do I and other family members.
I love the food I love the service. Will definitely keep coming back.

An awesome little spot! Catered lots for Plant based/Vegan diets, aswell as gluten free! Service took a while but the staff was very friendly and helpful! Lots of stuff had sold out so didn't get to try the famous waffles or pancakes! But what I did have was flavoursome and wholesome! Reasonable pricing too! The menu is very creative too and offers the vegan version to normal food
