Halal Certified Thai restaurant in Melbourne cbd...only few halal thai restaurants are there food was good with reasonable price and free drinks at lunch time...we ordered larb Thai style chicken mince... good for office meetings and gatherings with friends Ambiance was perfect

Reasonably good food, and reasonably priced. Service is friendly but not that attentive. Meals tend to be heavy on the cheap ingredients. My friend had two prawns in her dish, while I had maybe 5 pieces of meat in my pad see-ew. Overall nice, but not desirable.

The food is not suit for my taste, but looks delicious.

The food is fantastic and pricing is unquestionably great value for money. The interior decor is slightly lacking if you're after a romantic dinner, but is highly recommendable for a lunch meal. $11.50 for a generous sized meal with a glass of wine or soft drink is always great.

Lovely little place, smiling waitresses. Chips & vegetables were yum & done perfect. Both Crumbed Veal Schnitzel orders were unfortunately over cooked, crumb was near burnt unfortunately has to send back one. Open steak sandwich is nice & liked by 14 yr old. Ordered satay prawns & salad...YUM! Salad was so fresh & perfect. Waitresses nice & accommodating & gave us 20% off final bill due to the schnitzel.

They have pretty good food - I really enjoyed their roasted duck green curry and stir fried pumpkin. For a Thai restaurant, I was a little sad that they don't serve Thai iced milk tea but I guess that's alright. It is quite a spacious place, their staff are lovely, and the prices are quite reasonable. It was a good experience, just not significantly better than other Thai options in the city.

The service was not particularly prompt, nor attentive, nor friendly. Though they weren't rude or anything either. The food was tasty and it was ok value for money. Nothing special compared to other Thai restaurants except it happens to be attached to a hotel and looks it.

Smiles and happy to see happy customers too! Generous amount of food and pretty authentic Thai good food at a very reasonable price. Stuff are really nice although I have seen on a number of occasions that customers are rude to them yet patiently explains their reasons calmly. Sincerely I am looking forward to enjoying my next meal over there. Try the Thai Gai Yang which is cheaper than other places and a lot yummier! They also do fish and chips, drinks costs leave a margin for enjoyment! Be patient and enjoy a great meal. Cheers and see you there soon

This place is popular due to their lunch special with a free drink but they have serious issues with their ordering process. We were in a group of 5, 2 of us ordered Pad Thai beef. The dishes came out one at a time with 5-10mins wait between each dish. 1 Pad Thai came out to the table but the second one was no where to be seen. When the other 3 dishes came out we asked the waitress where the 2nd Pad Thai is, it took them a while before coming back with a dish of beef fried rice. By then the rest of the people have finished their meals. So I asked the waitress to put that in a takeaway box instead. I didn’t even care that they gave me fried rice instead of Pad Thai. I just wanted lunch. And that took another 10 mins. Why???

I can tell you I have been here for the $11.50 lunch many many times. This time I tried the curry laksa. This was the best dish here I have tried EVER. Order with a roti for that magnificent sauce. Quick service so a great option for lunch
Service was bad water and drinks came 15 mins after we ordered it, and even got the order of water wrong. HOw does one reach this level? food was sub-par average, this is probably why people order steak here instead of actual Thai food. A for effort but, n for not coming back again.

Had dinner here a couple of weeks ago. It was a little hard to find as it's hidden away behind the hotel. The ambiance of the restaurant is quiet average, I wouldn't consider it fancy. We were served and seated as soon as got there. I always find it annoying when so many tables are free but you get seated where there are already heaps of customers, which happened in this case.

We ordered the Chicken Cashew. It was nice, however very greasy. It felt like the chicken was coated in something making it this way. I've definitely had better.

Always a great option for lunch - they have lunch specials running everyday. It includes a main dish and a drink. The service is quick and the staff is friendly too. The items are flavorsome.

Been here many times with friends so thought it would be a good place to take some friends from interstate. Ended up regretting it - food was super bland, no flavour, no chilli. Pretty disappointing considering I've never had a reason to complain.

The food is tasty, simple and sumptuous. Vegetarian options are in plenty. The food we ordered had ooodles of vegetables, making it a very balanced meal for the three of us. The papaya salad was fresh and crunchy. The staff who are helpful and make sure your requests are met.

Would make a special effort to eat there. Poor service, sat at table as if we didn't exist. Waited a long time and watched others who arrived after we did,get served before us

Ok. I can't help but be slightly biased when it comes to Alice as o have been coming to Alive for lunch for over seven years and their $11.50 lunch special that includes a main dish and s drink is still one of the best dollar value lunches on the CBD. their meals are regularly good and the house wine is excellent value. And the owner and the staff are always helpful and extra friendly. Definitely worth dropping in for lunch.

Super average Thai but absolutely delightful service. They giggle at everything which is rather amusing! Still an enjoyable evening. Very relaxed

Suppertime is a new delivery service which is turning up the heat by partnering with the best restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne to deliver their food at home. . Suppertime focuses on restaurants providing affordable quality food, like Gelato Messina, Kong BBQ, +39 Pizzeria, Hanoi Hannah and many more... all delivered within 35mins!

Whenever I have to see if Thai place is good or bad I start with pad Thai not that it was bad but it was just any other noodles you buy from any Thai place they all taste same and they all fail to give you authentic Thai taste I know I'm not in Thailand but at least close enough would be great

Always a fun place to return to for a quick lunch Thai hit. You wonder how they can do their quick lunch menu with table cloth and matched glaze ware service.

Their green curry lunch special is a fav. Watch out for the chilli hit.

Don't bother. Very ordinary suburban thai and not particularly cheap either. There is plenty of much better food of all sorts nearby.
Kath Potter
Thai food at its most bland, least flavourful state combined with slow service. Strange considering it's potential prominent location and clientele from the Comedy festival.

Always satisfied!. I've only ever gotten take away during or after work & I've always been happy! Pad Siew & prawn cutlets are my fave! Chicken in the chicken cashew was a little dry but I will try it again. Curry puffs, satay chicken & fried rice were also really nice! Staff are always polite, I do plan to dine in one day.

Don't eat here unless you love chilli. They put it in everything. Even the meals that don't say they are spicy or have chilli in them. Even if you ask them specifically no chilli. Like five times. They'll put it in there. Lots of it. Waitresses must think "no chillI" means "lots of chilli in everything, even the chilliless dishes" my face is melting andoI can see through time.

Terrible. Huge menu...and cheap...but not if you don't eat the meals. Entrees ok...but only ok..rest of the meals were very mediocre....and delivered luke warm. Staff inattentive. Bad, bad choice before a show. Never again!

Don't order vegetarian! Fish sauce is NOT vegetarian. Apparently I should've "warned" them when ordering the Vegetarian Satay with Cashews about how strong vegetarian I was, because the whole dish was swimming in fish sauce. When I questioned them about it, they said most vegetarians have no problem with it. Um, what? Firstly, satay sauce is not meant to contain fish sauce, and secondly, most real vegetarians would DEFINITELY have a problem with fish sauce! When I asked them to take it away, they said their policy was I still had to pay for it. I refused to pay for it and they finally said "ok, just this once, but next time tell us you don't want fish sauce." What kind of service is that? I expect that ordering vegetarian would translate automatically into no ANIMAL products.
I never have a problem when eating at other restaurants (including thai) and ordering VEGETARIAN food.
Don't bother going - my friends who also dined there and had meat dishes said their food was mediocre as well.

I won't be going back. The restaurant was basic but clean & nice enough. The staff were polite but that's it. They were very slow to take drink orders, had to repeat orders 2-3 times till they understood, & slower delivering them. It was made very clear we were ordering 2 things- 1 banquet & 1 separate meal. They left as soon ad banquet order given,& we actually had to get up &, walk over to them, to place next order. Banquet was average, & beef stirfry was a plate of noodles & 4 pieces of tiny overcooked meat. Even tho restaurant was half empty they seemed in an incredible rush for the table, as they started taking plates before people were even finished with their meals. Overall very average food & poor service.

Their lunch special is terrific. Well priced and always very tasty meals. I'm here once a week for lunch. Staff are always well mannered and polite

Quick and tasty. Was just after some quick, good value takeaway that tastes ok... this ticked all the boxes (7 out of 10). We had the spring rolls, curry puffs, green chicken curry, red beef curry and chicken Pad Thai.

Good. Good Thai food..will recomend

Food: lunch BBQ Pork Neck with rice and soup. The pork is ok, not tasty but the meat is eadible and not chewy. The soup is very sweet, probably because the over-cooked sweet carrot. The rice is the worst. You'd think as a Thai Restaurant they would have a nice fragrance thai rice. Nope, it was blend sticky and not aromatic at all.

Cheap and cheerful. I love Alice's Thai and have been many times. The food is fresh and tasty and the service is good. The banquets are also excellent value and I can never say no to their Beef Massaman. The decor is basic but its a great place to go for a delicious feast.

Abit of a diamond in the rough!. Very quiet place, kinda dingy but the number one banquent was really good! Not a bad place if you want to have a conversation with the people you are with over nice
tasting food.

Dont go there if you want Thai Food. Probably the worst Thai meal I have ever had. Salt & Pepper squid was greasy and tasteless. Chilli prawns with basil - chilli had no heat and they ran out of Basil. No red wines available from the wine list.
Do yourself a favour - DONT GO TO ALICE's THAI if you want a Thai meal
