We had a lovely time at Tempo pizza and pasta bar. Staff were lovely and very helpful and we were seated quickly. The restaurant was a lovely shop in Degraves street and it had a lovely environment where we sat on the street. We ordered the meatlovers pizza which was $25.90. Really nice pizza and was served very quickly! It tasted really good although it was a little expensive for its size. Very nice food and environment would defiantly visit again :)
Huge meal of extremely delicious pasta covered in the most divine Bolognese sauce I’ve had in a long time.
The great location in the sweet and warm atmosphere, spaghetti carbonara was made it the right way, it tasted rich flavored but not greasy.
The place is really convenient and it worth coming again for another dishes.
The tiramisu here is pretty nice. Very dense and creamy. The sponge fingers were soft and soaked well and just enough so it's not dripping soggy.
Finished the whole thing! Need to try their pasta again soon.
I don’t believe in overall rating 3.0. I don’t think it’s accurate.I had early dinner and had few dishes. We ordered pizza,soup and coffee. Pizza base is beautiful, generous amount of ingredients. soup was tasty as well.
coffee had great flavour and aroma.

Absolutely amazing! The food was fantastic and came out very quickly. I ordered the penne calabrese which was beautiful and spicy and my partner had the gnocchi lamb. It was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. Of course, had to finish with a dessert and coffee, the tiramisu and coffee were both brilliant. Great atmosphere and the staff were friendly and loved a chat when they had the chance! Was surprised by how cheap it was overall. Highly recommend!
Love this place! They have your mainstream simple and delish Italian fare (pizza and pasta). I ordered the Vegetarian Pizza ($23.90) and was very happy with it. The flavours were lovely, and there was no skimping on toppings - think mushrooms, zucchini, capsicum etc, as well as added grana padano cheese (not just mozzarella).
The waitress was lovely but she didn't understand some of what my friends were saying about their meals; though she was efficient and catered to our needs nevertheless. It is busy and a bit loud inside, but the food comes out relatively fast and the atmosphere is great! Our party of 3 was also seated straight away and it was a Friday night!
I thought it was on the more expensive side for just a vegetarian pizza, but that is typical Melbourne CBD prices I guess. I would give it a 4.5 if I could.
I wouldn't have a problem in going back or recommending to others.
The atmosphere here is amplified at the outdoor tables by foot traffic passing by. Service was outstanding from our welcome until we left. The food was out very quickly, especially considering it was a Friday night, and was delicious. Will return on our next trip to Melbourne.
Great service but I just admit the food is average at best.
Situated on the busy Degraves street helps this place in terms of getting in the crowd and a good atmosphere!
The garlic cheese bread is spectacular and so is their margherita pizza.however their lamb tzaziki pizza( the most expensive pizza on their menu ) was a big disappointment! Coffee was average as well! They should work in the quality of their food and they will be perfect!
Didn’t make a reservation, restaurant was happy to accomodate. Ordered pastas, very good pasta. Enjoyed the food. Ordered tiramisu and creme brûlée. Was tough to decide which was a good dessert. Thoroughly enjoyed the place.
Great little Italian Restaurant. Went in for an early dinner with the family and we loved it! The pasta .. was delicious. GF options available. My son ordered the chicken Parma... a big serve.. says the best he’s had so far The service, efficient! Looking around their pizzas looked good too but we were too full to fit any more in.
I'm really in a strike of luck as I've been able to score restaurant seats at prime weekend times! It was 7 and I still managed to get seats at Il Tempo - a queue soon ensued a few minutes after we sat down though, so probably go a little earlier if you're looking for a no-hassle Italian dinner in the CBD. We ordered the Pork and Mushroom pizza to share and it was on the slightly on the salty side. We really felt 'basic' that night so we ordered the Carbonara and Bolognese. The Bolognese was a bit of a letdown after the promises of a rich beef ragu written on the menu. The sauce was quite bland and watery especially when compared with the Carbonara. The Carbonara, however, was excellent with its rich smokiness and the al-dente pasta.

Food: We ended up here by chance after the restaurant we planned to go to was full. I order the lamb gnocchi which was a special and I have to say it was delicious. The gnocchi was light, and the lamb ragu was lovely. Only disadvantage was it was a little greasy. It's also pricey, and while good, there are definitely better options in the CBD for a much lower price.
Atmosphere/service: The service was friendly, but a little disorganised. We had people try to take our order more than once, even though we had already ordered, and it seemed as though they were sharing staff with their sister restaurant on the other side of the laneway. It just ruined the experience a little, as it felt very disjointed and was difficult to order drinks during our meal as there were no staff around.
Would I recommend it: Yes, the food was very enjoyable, and while a little annoying, the service was fairly good - the friendliness of the staff helped balance out the disorganisation. It needs a few tweaks, but it's definitely one of the better restaurant I've visited on Degraves Street.
I am a tourist and accidentally ended up on the Degraves street. With multiple eatery options available on the street, we were pretty confused. But we finally ended up at II tempo as the guy said they serve the best Pizza !! And I am not sure about the rest, but their pizza (BBQ chicken pizza) was really goood .... fresh, pan crusted, cheesy with right amount of sauces !! Just amazing !!
