Loved cold brew - a hint of fruitiness. I really like how the sunlight streams into the venue - modern and cool decos inside. Coffee was slightly more expensive than expected but still delicious :) Great emphasis on coffee
I love this place so much! The salmon avo with bagels are sooooo yummy! 😻 and they made their coffee really well as well 🥰 there’s a nice sitting area outside and the price was very decent!
It’s been a while since I have visited Vincent The Dog and the last time I ate at Vincent The Dog was about 3 years ago. The food and coffee quality pretty much stayed the same, but the menu was the same too which was quite surprising. Overall, the food and service was good but I hoped that they would update their menu from time to time as can it get a bit plain. Would definitely recommend the Basil Chicken Burger as it tastes similar to the Taiwanese Fried Chicken snack that you are normally able to find in asian night markets.
Came on a nice sunny day and their outdoor seating was the BEST! Ordered iced coffee, fried chicken burger and a strawberry smoothie. Everything was so well executed with an asian flavour twist. My chicken taste like those popcorn chicken in Street food places. LOVED IT! Will definitely be back! Service was very friendly and attentive!

☆彡 went for a late lunch and got instant seating in beautiful spacious courtyard, it was not busy at all on a weekday 1:30pm. it is also close to unimelb! a little bit hard to spot on the main road but be patient!
Ordered: sweet potato fritters ($17.9), salmon and avo bagel ($13) and spring rolls ($8.5)

- service was soo warm and friendly and kind
- whole cafe is very neat aesthetically pleasing and salt pepper stands are soo cute
- sweet potato fritters was darn good, crunchy, warm and perfect sweetness without being sickly: they are cooked in coconut flakes never knew it would work so perfectly
- extensive and creative menu options!
☆ Not so good:
- chorizo i found a bit random in the sweet potato dish but it’s a personal thing

Stopped in for a quick coffee on a sunny weekday mid morning that was perfect for an outdoor break. The staff member seemed a little impartial, not very friendly but did her job as expected apart from spilling coffee into the saucer a number of times. They weren't busy at all and a little customer banter would have been good. The coffee was very good and really worth a return visit. The outdoor seating is OK but could do with a little maintenance to get the rough timber bits under smoothed out. We didnt have any food on this visit, but we will next time. Oh and who is Vincent?
Quirky and a little out of the way but well worth the visit, the menu is more focused on breakfast than lunch but it has a good variety of options and some really interesting Coffee and tea’s as well.
All the food is fresh and prepared with care so presentation and quality are high on the list and taste is close by.
I really enjoyed this cafe, despite the poor first impression. Unfortunately, when we walked in, the waitress was eating and her mouth was so full, she couldn't properly direct us to the courtyard, where we would eat. Otherwise, the staff were really friendly and polite.
The courtyard is super cute, fun and a great place to just sit back and enjoy your meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, it was really tasty and plated very nicely. I ordered the blue berries on coconut waffle. The taste was very good, however, the serving size could have been bigger since it was literally just fruit around two slices of waffle. The blueberry and cream was a smart combination though. Furthermore, the coffee was also reasonably priced and the smoothies tasted DELICIOUS.
Would definitely recommend this to Melbourne Uni students, as it is only a couple minutes away from the uni! It's great for catchups and I don't regret visiting at all.
Place was nice and quiet (probably because it was about it close). We asked for recommendations and received honest opinions on our food choices. We decided on the tacos, chicken burger and a strawberry smoothie. The chicken burger was tender and fulfilling along with the fries. For $18 it was worth it. The tacos were full of flavour, the mild sauce and extra crunch really gave it a zing. The smoothie was probably the best I’ve ever had, for $7.5 it was worth it ! Not to mention my phone was dying and the lady kindly charged it for me. Will come here again :)
I came here from my friend’s recommendation and it was such a positive experience! Customer service was one of the best to the point that the workers are very memorable! Everyone is smiling, making the atmosphere very calming and peaceful. I like how there are outdoor seatings at the back and it is very a good place to take photos with your friends!
We ordered the chicken burger, blue berries compote on coconut waffle and the pulled pork waffle. All of them were very nice, filling and at a good price! It is also close to Melbourne Uni, so I’ll definitely visit again to try the Chinese Donut that the staff suggested :)

The sweet potato fritters is a must try!! Absolutely delish!! Had mushrooms added on the side. The meatballs were very flavourful! My partner utterly enjoyed it.
The only downside was the service. It can definitely be improved.
Great small/med sized cafe with big focus on coffee. Good that they highlight allergens on the menu.

As a local I have visited this establishment a couple times and both times I’ve had a great experience, coffee is quite nice and served at a good temperature.
Food was also yummy.
On busy times it can get quite squished but they do a good job at making it work.
To me the food was so-so, but it was the interior that I loved. A good place near home to grab a quick brunch with great value. Staff was friendly and they provided great service as well.
It's great places like this that makes Melbournians so spoilt for choice. Menus and water are already at each spot beside the little condiments jars - very efficient. I've heard about their waffles and innovative menu. The selection had so many intriguing options.
The pulled pork shoulder with coconut waffle open sandwich combines sweet with savoury. With bean sprouts, crunchy sweet potato shreds, the contrasting tastes harmonised well and made for interesting eating. This was such a good combination! The plum-like Casara tea was served in an elegant glass pot and cup for those who take their tea a bit more seriously.
This bright, airy and modern cafe seats maybe 25 inside and probably the same in the neatly presented courtyard outside. Service was helpful and attentive throughout the meal. So glad I came here to experiment - definitely worth the visit.

Nice place. Ordered fried sweet potato with ham, blueberry waffle and baked egg. Like the tasted of sweet potato and the meatballs. A big fan of the decorations in this place.
What a nice little cafe. Came during the week for a brunch feed with a group of friends - place was relatively quiet and we were seated in the courtyard. Extremely easy going, friendly staff who came to see what we needed and helped us out with recommendations. The coconut waffles was a little flat for me unfortunately though - i thought I had an issue with over-sweetness, but surprisingly it was just mono tone and lacked that defining punch.
Love the coffee! Cappuccino based on natural processed Ethiopian roasted by Code Black. That's my favorite recipe. The decor is quite interesting, love it.

A nice little cafe with outdoor seating at the back. The menu is creative and tasty, although portions not huge, so if your hungry, you might need an extra side. They have nice fresh juices and the coffee is of a good standard.
Came here for brunch with the girls today and I chose it for its Asian inspired menu being Chinese New Year. Super easy to get a park on a Sunday morning and we didn't need to wait for a table. Tick and tick. The menu itself was quirky i.e. in relation to cold drip 'we have decided not to serve this disappointing beverage' and the menu items were creative and intriguing. I went the fried chicken basil burger which was possibly an odd choice at 10.45am but the waitress recommended it and it was very tasty. We also tried smashed avo with a dukkah poached egg (x2) and the baked eggs with ricotta and chorizo. We sat in the sun in the back courtyard which was glorious. They had a delicious looking cake counter and I would come back again for the brownie

Restaurant/Floor: This place has such a chilled atmosphere! I am in love! It's the perfect place to just wind down.
The restaurant itself is quite spacious with a centre table at the front of the shop and a cute courtyard at the back. As the courtyard is also undercover, it's perfect for those super hot summer days.
Very pram and wheelchair friendly!
Staff: Everyone, from the baristas to the floor staff to the managers to the chefs, are just absolutely amazing! They all ensured that we were well looked after and that we enjoyed ourselves. They are very on the ball and were always there when you need them.
Food/Drinks: The star of my visit is definitely the coffee! They serve a short shot of espresso with an ice cube in a frozen cup. It's great for those who love their long blacks as I do but want something cold because of the Aussie heat.
The food is flavoursome but not too overwhelming either. My favourite is definitely the spring rolls. As someone who is of Vietnamese heritage, I am so happy to have found a place that serves authentic Vietnamese spring rolls! The nuoc mam served with the spring rolls is freshly made and packs quite a kick of flavour.
Overall: I am so glad to have found this gem! It's the perfect little getaway from the loudness of the city yet not too far away. The staff are always ever so lovely and are knowledgable about their menu and coffee. This is definitely my new go-to spot. Definitely worth a try if you're ever in the area!
Loved this place! We sat outside in the back courtyard and it was lovely! The coffee was great & the staff were very friendly. The Basil Chicken burger was recommended by staff & it was great! Will definitely be returning.
I love this cafe. Everything feels like it's from a design magazine. The glasses, coffee cups and even water jugs all look lovely. The small cafe is filled with natural light and the out door seating is perfect for a summers day.
Staff are always a little snappy when I've been in, must be all the tasty coffee they are drinking putting them on edge. That brings me to the coffee. So good! They are happy to make it anyway you like, I suggest asking the barista what they recommend trying - there seems to be new beans in all the time.
Food is minimal but good. The savoury waffles are my personal favourite. A nice place to relax, read the paper and have a bite to eat with some good coffee.
Nice food ruined by a super long wait for service and food delivery (over half an hour after ordering - with only four other parties in the room) that resulted in us needing to scarf everything down in under 10 minutes to get to our next engagement. The food was nice, I just would have preferred to have been able to register what I was eating. Coffee very run of the mill, with plenty of preferred options elsewhere.
Had the cheese filled Chinese donut with pork floss. An interesting dish since it's the fun stuff you have with Chinese rice porridge (sans cheese), just missing the porridge. I thought coffee was so-so. Strawberry and cherry compote waffles sounded exciting but I wanted something savoury for the day.
Space inside is small (a row at the window and a communal table), not much when it's a cold and rainy day and service is ok. My coffee order was taken quickly enough but I had to get the menu myself.

This is easily the best cafe in Carlton. Exceptional coffee! Every time! Staff are lovely, too. The courtyard is a bit bland, but the front room and communal table is a really nice place to perch yourself awhile. The menu makes for an entertaining read, too :)
A very hip but cramped venue. Had an excellent coffee, and mushrooms (love dem shrooms) on toast here. The decor has an industrial look, and the facade is non descript, but a good vibe to the place. Service was good, and menu had some vegetarian choices. Quite popular, and at times hard to get a table or bench. There is some outdoor seating.
I visited this cafe on a whim with my boyfriend and it was okay. Very small inside, but cute and we were able to get a nice seat by the window. Service was prompt and professional. The menu was very interesting and unique, and we ordered the Chinese donut and fried chicken burger. The food was alright and arrived quickly, but wasn't anything special. There was no unpleasantness about our visit, but also nothing outstanding. A trip to Vincent the Dog won't disappoint, but there is definitely some sharp competition close by
Did not disappoint at all. Cute set up serving up huge portions of tasty food. I was quite torn between the 2 waffles but went for sweet since my friend was getting a savory dish. The waffles were quite good, i loved all the dehydrated food and the cherries, but they got soggy really quick, I would recommend ordering them later on if you're sharing. The pig's ears tacos were outstanding, so crunchy and flavorsome, and the spicy aioli provided the needed heat. I ordered the affogato as well and was pleasantly surprised when the cup came out packed with ferrero rocher ice cream, not just the standard scoop that most places give you. I can't wait to come back here and try everything else.

Sweet: A delight to eat, not too dense and the fruits add moisture and acidity to balance the dish. tho I would appreciate more of that cream.
Savoury: The pulled pork was very generous, saucy and full of flavour. Goes well with the coconut waffles. (This person also loves pulled pork so when there's waffles it is like the perfect marriage)
And please go sit in the backyard if weather allows, indeed a cute place.
A little winner. This place is a hit with my workplace just a few doors down, most popular for its coffee and interesting hot and cold drinks selection. Tried the Chinese Donuts upon a recommendation and they were both delicious and unique! Good value as well for the area. Looking forward to trying the bagel selection. Cute courtyard out the back, but limited seating options indoors (has a communal table, which is good of you're not planning on discussing anything too private!).
I went with the sweet waffle option: coconut waffles with fresh & freeze dried strawberries, cherries, kiwi, coconut jelly, green tea jelly, fresh mint & pistachios… wow. The waffles were right on point for me – thick and fluffy, with heaps of shredded coconut through them. The jellies were easily the other highlight – I’ve found that a lot of places who promise jellies like this tend to end up with quite watered down flavours to the point that it could just be green-tinged jelly, but you could really taste the coconut and green tea in these.
This is where you go when you need to have one amazing 5 & Dime bacon and egg bagel with the perfect drip factor to offset the dense bagel goodness. First time I've had a bagel balance so well with the contents. Wish I could give a rating of 6. So good!
Such a hidden gem! Seriously unless you're specifically looking for this place you'll probably walk straight past but please stop and go in!
The atmosphere is so cool and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is full of flavour and items on the menu tend to steer in a different direction to your usual breakfast menu.
We ordered the Chinese donut with pickled veg and pork floss which was absolutely incredible all the combinations work so well together. We also got the smoked salmon which was full of flavour and the mushrooms were delicious as well. We shared a serve of the taro chips which were interesting as we'd never had taro before, they would've been better with a side of aioli rather than tomato sauce but that's my only fault. The mixed berry and white chocolate smoothie was a perfect drink to start the morning. There coffee list is also extensive.
Overall I would highly recommend you check this place out and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Yum!!! I loved brunching here! I had the matcha banana smoothie, taro chips and the pulled pork waffle they were all super tasty! I'd recommend getting all three. Will be back to try more of the menu A++

Vincent the dog is a very modern, asian inspired, unique cafe that serves tremendous coffee and exclusive dishes that are unforgettable. Situated just off the busy Elgin Street this cafe on first appearance seems very small with limited seating out the front, but upon entering a large table occupies the centre of the cafe and with only a short walk down the corridor alongside the counter, down stairs a hidden courtyard resides.
Came here for a latish lunch with a friend and we chose to sit out the front in the glorious sun as we were attending to by a lovely waitress. After a quick glance at the menu our decisions were easily made ordering a long soy black and green tea latte as well as the Bircher Muesli and Mixed Berry Waffles. The Waffles arrived looking spectacular, an abundance of berries served on a coconut flake waffle base, with mascarpone and lashings of whipped cream with additional house made jasmine green tea jelly.. The spongy waffles absorbed the berries yet maintained their crispy outside and the jasmine green tea jelly provide a perfect refresher for the palate making the dish not to sweet. The Bircher muesli was served on a magnificent looking plate with a classy large serving spoon, mounded high with raspberries, strawberries, kiwi fruit and layers of crisp apple hiding the dense, moist muesli below. The yoghurt combined with the tart fresh fruit created the perfect balance of flavour as the muesli was filled with dried fruits and grains making for a filling refreshing dish. Vincent is a master of the coffee craze, offer various blends and methods of brewing. The long soy black was well crafted, hot and acidic with great mouthfeel. The exotic green tea latte looked inviting as twas perfectly creamy yet could have benefited from being served warmer. Overall Vincent the dog creates for an impressive cafe experience offering diversity, infatuated by lovely humble staff and is certainly worthy of a visit.
Chicken burger: bread wasnt as soft and fluffy as I'd have liked. Chicken was really tender and crisp but portion wasnt enough imo. Sauce was great tho, really completed the dish!
Pulled pork waffle: great flavours! Just wished the pulled pork was more tender, but this huge portion- i approve 👍🏽
my first impression was a lot of smoke inside the house, although if you get lucky, there's a beautiful rear garden with lots of sun.
Berries compote waffle was quite watery, my waffle was soakie before i down half-way, like flour lumps. um, and the jasmine jelly was nice but i didn't see how it marry with rest the plate.
and the coffee was nice, creamy and dark and thick.

但是呢，咖啡是好喝的，我点的long mac比起一般的更加深沉，入口很重，挺有个性的一种。

A quaint courtyard hides behind Drummond Street’s Vincent the Dog, architects of robust coffees and scrumptious brunch-like meals. Vincent The Dog’s menu is honest, like really honest. A small note about cold drip not being offered because it is, and I agree, a ‘disappointing liquid’.
I went with my friend on Sunday. The cafe is pretty small but the decoration seems warm and relaxed. The price is quiet reasonable compared to some really famous cafe in CBD and the quality is beyond the average. My friend said her toast tasted really good with avo. I order a tuna salad and ingredients inside are great collaboration.
A cute little cafe with friendly staff and your typical Melbourne cafe food. Situated just past Lygon Street don't be fooled when you first walk in at the size or the place because all the fun happens outside. It's a nice space decorated beautifully with everything well thought out and presented from the glassware to the menu. While it may seem at first glance the menu is limited compared to similar places the flexibility of each item such as customising your avo on toast makes it much more accommodating. I ordered the smashed avo with feta and also ordered a poached egg on top which was one of the best I've had recently. You get plenty of avocado and the egg was cooked to perfection. My only suggestion is if it starts to sprinkle which can happen at a moments notice in Melbourne try to sit closer to the middle or you may get your water refilled with rain drops.
Although I didn’t brunch nearly as much as usual last year, I still managed to hit up a few different brunch places at the tail end of the year. All of them had their own unique spin that sets them apart from the pack. Usually it’s up to me to pick the brunch place, so it came as a pleasant surprise when my friend suggested that we go to Vincent The Dog. I had never heard of it before, but the Asian influenced menu sounded intriguing and my friend was deadest on the pulled pork waffles.
It's an asian inspired cute little cafe in Carlton. Not too busy and they do serve good coffee. The food are also great, yesterday I got the avocado smash with dukkah eggs plus umami taste. Can't go wrong with avo smash. It's simple, classic brunch dish yet tasty! (I love avo...forever). The pork waffle was not as good as I thought tho. The waffle was placed under the pork so it became soggy. The pork itself was very heavy in terms of the flavour (but recommended for the meat-lovers).

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch here the other day. The atmosphere of this place is friendly and tranquil and the demeanour of the lovely staff only add to this. The menu is easily customisable and features some novel twists on the typical breakfast spread. I followed the recommendation to add seaweed flakes to my avocado smash for the umami flavour profile- worked really well. Also was wowed by their cold brew with raspberry sorbet; do yourself a favour and try it!
Great vibes, food was nicely done, and the plates and glasses are cute. I had the smashed avo - definitely up there in the best in Melbourne! Pumping out great tunes as well. Will be back.

Been here so many times for my brunch. Cant walk pass by not getting Green Tea Latte or Coffee Latte. The 12 o'clock waffle is also nice too .
Good taste and atmosphere, big breakfast and the salmon are rich in the taste and healthy, will definitely come again.
PS: Vincent may want to do more on verandal roof, especially in raining days

The thing that surprised me the most when I first walked into Vincent the Dog was just how small the place actually was. Aside from a few outdoor tables, there was just one big communal table inside that could probably seat a maximum of ten people comfortably. There were also a few seats available at the windowsill, which was where Adeline and I opted to sit as it had been raining outside.
The second thing that had surprised me was their selection of waffle sandwiches – which we had come specifically to try. Mixed berry compote? Pulled pork shoulder on waffles?! And one containing just cheese??!
Me and my daughter went to this little cafe on the weekend. The coffee was very good and the two meals were very filling and well priced. Would absolutely go back.
Very interesting and remarkable little place to be! Well designed simple creative menu with wide range of choices. Creative waffle combination. Strongly recommend pulled port shoulder on waffle. The meat is extremely tender with full favor in it. Smoke salmon is really fresh with deliberated choice of salad with green apple slice, adding a bit refreshing taste to the dish. Recommended!!

Great place for a quiet early morning coffee and a bite to eat. There's some nice bagels and waffles on offer. Tried the berry waffles, which were excellent. Coffee art and service are top notch also.
Bloody excellent coffee. I even enjoy reading their menu and how ballsy it is to diss cold drip in a coffee-polis like Melb. What suprised me was their juices tbh, the orange with lychee and lime was amazing. The bagels are from 5 & A Dime, which is always good. Place is indeed small as previous reviewers have mentioned so not much opportunity for big groups.
I must have walked past this small, unassuming brick building a dozen times in my Carlton journeys. Completely glanced past the little overhanging sign stating that Vincent is a dog. In all honesty, if you weren’t paying attention, you’d see The Markov and keep walking.
Had a lovely spot on the window in the sun where we enjoyed a Green Tea Latte and a Doggiecinno (we like trying new things ;) ). The atmosphere was great, it was quite busy, the staff were nice and friendly. The coffees were extraordinary good. We will definitely be back here!

Small serving for my partners dish (mushroom on toast) but yummy. I had veggie breakfast with bacon added 🙈, would recommend.
We sat in the back courtyard which has about five- six tables that can fit either couples or four around them though mostly couples when we were there (I think it would a tight squeeze if all the tables were full full!).
Our pup enjoyed coming with us for brunch and seeing other dogs around the cafe
A decent cafe with plenty of veggo options. You can customize your own bagel or select from the pre set menu. The place is more spacious than expected with the backyard available. The food and customer service were ok, but I liked their coffee.
Love love love this place! Dog friendly and welcomed in all areas! Staff were very pleasant and kind! Maeve (my dog) was given a water bowl, some treats and lots of pats! The food was delicious and well priced! Maeve and I will be back!
One of my new favourite cafes. I love a good bagel for breakfast and they definitely deliver. There's the option of sitting inside, partially covered out the back in a cute courtyard or out the front under umbrellas. The good thing for dogs is the cafe is canine friendly. The coffee has always been great, and the staff are lovely.
Lovely customer service and good coffee. Really cool merch, trinkets and other little things. You can buy plant based milk, coffee cups, jewelry, crockery, young jackfruit for the vegans/vegetarians, etc. Very cool vibe. Would visit again.

Amazed at this little gem in Melbourne that makes such good Caribbean food. The outdoor seating is a real vibe, the jerk chicken & curry goat are must orders, and the service is really warm. The pimento & scotch bonnet flavours especially stood out 👌🏾
Great lunch venue, super friendly and helpful staff. Lovely coffee and super tasty bagels. We had the hangover and loved it. Even got some doggy snacks for my boys.
