We had visited Platform 270 for dinner and here’s what we had!

Small bites:

Pan seared scallops - blood orange reduction, prosciutto, finger lime, braised fennel and wild rice puff! The scallops were cooked to perfection and the addition of the prosciutto and braised fennel was pretty clever as it added more flavors to the dish!

Sisig - twice cooked pork, garlic yoghurt emulsion, tomato salsa, fresh lime and tostada! This was like a taco in a form of chip carrying all the elements on top of it. The flavors were good with the savories of the pork and the tanginess of the tomato salsa!

Pressed beetroot - served with apple, pork floss, pea tendril, calamansi and horseradish dressing, and pickled target beets! Not only was this dish unique, it was pretty creative for a beetroot dish! The beetroot flavors were not overpowering and it went well together with the pork floss!

Large plates:

Pan seared hapuka - tamarind infused sofrito, sautéed green beans, house made chili garlic and eggplant chip! What made this dish standout was the yummy chili garlic which gave the fish a yummy flavor to it! The seared hapuka was just right and the meat was fresh!

Filipino style grilled half chicken BBQ - banana ketchup glaze, roasted brussel sprouts and corn purée! Another outstanding dish with the corn purée as it’s base to sweeten up the chicken and the banana ketchup glaze to give it an extra kick! All the elements on the plate were fabulous hence making this my favorite main of the evening!

Dessert:

Single origin Filipino chocolate torte - cocoa nibs, mountain pepper ice cream, roasted white chocolate and beetroot powder! All I can say about this dessert was wow, wow and wow! The torte was put together perfectly and each spoonful would give you a melting sensation! The mountain pepper ice cream was an excellent addition giving this dessert a peppery kick!

Citrus, berries, white chocolate, calamansi curd, macerated strawberries, meringue, green rhubarb sorbet! Where do I start? This was such a unique looking dessert and not only that... there were flavors flying all over my mouth! From the sweetness of the rhubarb sorbet to the sourness of the calamansi curd and citrus! This was my fave to end the night!

We had a exceptional time at Platform 270 and would love to visit again to try the rest of their wonderful dishes! Well done guys and keep up the good work!

Invited for dinner, Platform 270 offers modern Australian with a Filipino twist. You can find Platform 270 inside the Hilton's Double Tree hotel. We started with pan seared scallops and sisig which is twice cooked pork jowl with a garlic yoghurt emulsion, fresh tomato salsa on tostada. An absolutely winner and a must order. The scallops were also perfectly cooked and paired perfectly with a blood orange reduction and prosciutto. The mains we tried were the slow cooked beef brisket and a pan fried hapuka . The brisket was so flavoursome and melted in your mouth. Hapuka is one of my favourite fish to eat and this ranks up there as one of the best I've tried. We finally finished with a decadent chocolate torte with a very interesting pepper flavoured ice cream.
Overall our experience was perfect and would highly recommend Platform 270.

Really impressed with the food here, every dish we had was top quality. For starters, we had the grilled prawns and roasted cauliflowers. The oil on the prawn was just amazing. For mains, we had 300g scotch fillet and pork ribs, which on their special. Both were amazing.

Great spot on Flinders Street across from the station and under the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel.
We dropped in for a pre-theatre meal - had a really tasty lamb and saltana ragu and the steak was cooked as ordered, good chips too.  The ingredients seem good quality and fresh.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the service is quite a relaxed pace but they sped things up when we told them we had to leave for a show.
Only disappointing part was the dessert - chocolate mousse was nothing like mousse at all, it was more like eating cold ganache so we didnt finish it.
We also booked through EatClub and got 25% off the bill - definitely worth a look if youre in the city.

Forming part of the lobby within Hilton Hotel on Flinders Street, Platform 270 is a slightly upmarket restaurant that offers a tasty and refined modern Australian dining experience at an affordable price.
While the service may be lacking at times, the quality, fresh produce more than makes up for any shortcomings. Coupled with frequently offered discounts, it’s hard to believe they aren’t more busy!

When dessert tastes like chocolate heaven🤤. Doubletree Hilton is famous for their choc chip cookies🍪 so I was expecting dessert to be good, and they didn’t disappoint! A lovely evening with live music 🎶 , some family fighting and enjoying good food is our way of having a good weekend ✨.

The night we came here for dinner, there was a gentlemen playing live jazz music. The lights were dim, people were chatting away having a good time in an intimate atmosphere with beautiful music in the background.
We started with a lamb dish and the organic hummus with pita bread that absolutely got my stomach started! The pita was warm and soft, dipped in the hummus, yogurt and marinated chickpeas was a combination that I really enjoyed.

For the main, we had the Duck Ragu pasta, the steak special of the night, which was cooked to perfection served alongside a salad and mustard sauce that tantalised my tastebuds.
To finish we had the Dark chocolate what I would call a lava cake, and I have to admit that was one of the best dark chocolate soft centred puddings I have eaten! 
Service was beautiful, the staff was friendly and welcoming so the only point they did lose was the side of cabbage and fennel slaw that I really believe was accidentally over seasoned with the dressing.
Other than that we highly recommend this restaurant right in the centre of the CBD but taken to a place where you can relax and enjoy in a wonderful initiate atmosphere.

Platform 270 is a typical Melbourne style restaurant and bar run by Hiltons as their executive services. The interior design was very modern with the minimalist style; The place was very clean and cosy exposed with the cellared wines and ambient light. With the cosy vibe and atmosphere in this restaurant, they could definitely attract the Melbournians to come, enjoy the drinks and food.

Went here for a Thursday lunch as it's conveniently located across the road from Flinders St station. We used the Entertainment book voucher offer of 'buy one main meal get one free'. This brought our $28 lunch down to $14. We both ordered the prawn linguine and thoroughly enjoyed it! Service was friendly although we did wait a long time for service and little things like the standard offer of water wasn't there. Place does have a lovely ambience to it! Perhaps if prices for week day lunch reflected what was served it could be a busy little place.

October is the month for asparagus @EatDrinkHilton seasonal dinner specials across Hilton properties across Australasia. Gastrology recently visited DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne Flinders Street to celebrate the nutritious and versatile qualities of this fresh ingredient, with a Whole Foods Dinner at Platform 270 bar and kitchen.  We loved being nourished by a four course meal by Executive Chef Phil Latta who took us through the freshest spring seasonal produce including the hero ingredient of asparagus - served in its purest form. It was a wonderful evening which showcased how raw dishes can rival other cooking techniques.

The recently updated menu is really fresh, visually striking and mouth-watering, with delicate entrees, well-portioned mains, and perfectly balanced desserts to round off a full meal. Try the miso infused kingfish, the strip loin steak, and the ginger donuts. Those are my favourites.

Take 2- we came back, I'm not sure why, but this restaurant has out done itself... the food was amazingly delicious! We had the porkbelly and the slow cooked BBQ rib... scrumptious! Staff friendly and serving efficient, they have a $20 weekday special served with drink, which is good value too! Come and give it a second chance.



First visit - Overall the food was a bit of a let down... Overpriced which is standard for hotel chains...
Had the wagyu beef flank... Was cold and tough... And for the price disappointing... The serving staff are friendly and efficient though... Come with a booking too, as we were told without a booking there would be a 30 min wait, but most of the tables were empty...

Came here with my girlfriend for dinner. We had the double cooked steak and they were cooked to perfection. The asparagus sides was decent as well.

When your in Melbourne it seems silly to eat breakfast in the hotel when there are so many amazing Cafes around. But this hotel breakfast can be regarded as good as one of them. Friendly service, amazing foods, buffet or ala carte - both are great. But they also make an amazing coffee which I love.

It’s quite clear that Hilton Hotels and their subsidiary Doubletree are trying to build something. Platform 270 is the culmination of seeing what Melburnian food culture is like, and producing an eatery that not only fits in with other Melbourne dining contemporaries but also looks to refine this.

This hideaway had become a regular haunt.
My previous visits it was just me and a friend - tapas offerings and house wines have been great value and assuage after work nibble inclinations. My favourite so far has been the waygu burger - divine!
Last night I went with a group of colleagues - 12 in all. The staff were very accommodating and our service was quick and attentive. My colleagues raved about the decor and the general ambience, which enchanted me from my first visit.
I hope my hidden gem on Flinders St stays my secret but sadly I think this new spot will soon be a hotspot.

Great wee restaurant to grab a bite at, located off the funky lobby of the DoubleTree. Both the main and tapas menu great. Love the tapas offering as its quick and easy after a busy day at work with a beer.

Had the greatest pleasure of dining here tonight on a Travelzoo deal. Wow...what a deal! The food was nothing short of spectacular with each dish having many different levels that completely complimented each other, even the broccoli side dish! We enjoyed the salmon and creme brûlée for entree, duck and porterhouse for main and custard tart and chocolate flourless cake for dessert. Had to pick all as our favourites. The staff are sensational - very knowledgable and attentive even when it was busy, changing their interaction style to suit each diner. We would have happily paid beyond the voucher for this experience and will do do in the near future. Thank you for a really enjoyable night!

We dined on a travelzoo voucher , the entree ravioli was delicous but on the small side salad amazing ...... WOW the Steak was the best we have ever had and the red wine juz was fantastic .... dessert so good ..... Will definitely recommend Highly ..... waitress so friendly and lovely ..... A must we will be going back !!!!!!!

We ate dinner here on a Travelzoo voucher, and it was terrific value for excellent fine dining food which included entree, main and a glass of wine. The four of us each enjoyed our entrees and mains, although they were a little on the small side and need to be supplemented by side dishes. The waitress was friendly but seemed inexperienced: the pre dinner drinks we ordered came after the entree; we had to ask for a drink spill to be cleaned up even though she was there when it happened, and dinner rolls were not offered to other guests when one of party asked for another one. The fit-out of the dining area/bar/reception is funky and fun with high ceilings and an industrial
feel, and moody lighting. However, every time the automatic doors in the lobby opened we were blasted with cold air, which did not make for a relaxing supper. The hotel really needs to look at screening off this area to ensure the comfort of its diners.

I came here tonight with my partner. We had starters each, a main each, and a dessert each. Could not find a fault in a single dish. We thought the pork belly was absolutely incredible. Presentation of the food was stunning, we were very impressed. Served mostly by a gentleman and once by the lady - both fantastic and humble. Hats off to the chef and kitchen staff, we were blown away. Will return soon.

Went to platform 270 during our recent stay at double tree and attended breakfast food was better than expected as other hotel only serve toast and coffee maybe some cereal. Not platform 270 they have eggs (hard boiled, scrambled and done your way via request) Hash browns , bacon , baked beans , sausage as well as all your fruits sweets and basically anything you could want for breakfast. 10/10 will be dining her again on our next stay

Stayed here for a staycation and ate here on the first night. The spices cauliflower with wild rice, chickpea and herbs were so delicious, that I craved for it the next day! The $5 happy hour for house beer, wine and spirit is a nice touch. My husband ordered the BBQ chicken burger and found it average though.

Slow service when I was there, but super super super cheap food if you use the Groupon voucher. Pasta portions were very very small which was disappointing as pasta is cheap, so if you're thinking of ordering pasta be prepared to buy some maccas on the way home. Ribs were nice and tender, would recommend. Chocolate martini was great, strong but easy to drink. The apple crumbl was a bit soggy but nice anyway. The baked chocolate cookie was quite large, rich and filling. Great place for a cheap but "fancy" date, would recommend with the Groupon voucher.

I went to the morning breakfast buffet. It was great and the staff there were very accommodating. The manager named Nostegia (sorry if I spelt this wrong) was very polite and made our whole morning delightful. She went out of her way to make a soy latte for my partner and was very friendly. Great work Nostegia, we will be definitely coming back because of your service.

They changed the menu and we didn't know about it. Not much of a choice now but still great food and service.
